Dreamzzz review & Theory
I finished Dreamzzz and I’m so conflicted, I had a gigantic theory that I would like to talk about because the ending of the season was NOT what I was expecting, wasn’t bad but my theory had me in a chokehold - Dreamzzz spoilers ahead.
I liked it, but I didn’t love it, I did however LOVE the creative design that went behind everything,
Turtle taco truck, gator cars, ALBERT, shark boat, lumina’s castle looking like a space shuttle, the weapon on the top of the castle, ALBERT, the fact that Mr.Oswald was wearing the astronaut symbol from the 1984 minifig, Zian’s design, ALBERT’S SOUTHERN ACCENT, Night Hunter sway walk + chain sound effects, Logan’s outfit is cool as ice.
My issues: the story was hard to focus on at times, they had some fill in moments that were too long, also random pauses that went on for too long? They would say something and then stand there longer than necessary, characters had this issue of being great in one episode then problematic in the literal beginning of the next episode. Logan would randomly switch up a lot in the beginning episodes, being nice then a douche bag. Then he was nice for 7 episodes only to be upset he has to help Izzie in the maze so she doesn’t get seriously hurt by the night terrors.
I also did not like Filippo’s face, the stained glass look was an awesome design but the creepy lion face will haunt me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
NOW FOR MY THEORY. LUNIA AND HUNTER ARE ZOEY’S PARENTS.
Here was my fueling for all of this that never happened but still could (season 2 hear me out)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mean look at this, I can totally see this as a family, also convenient Lunia is missing and so is her mom. Not to mention her dad is also missing, meanwhile the Night Hunter said he couldn’t return to the waking world until he conjured up Lunia’s hourglass.
Also I’d like to point out that her father’s hairpiece looks very similar to Hunter of the angle was right.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I had a gigantic theory that Zoey’s parents were Lunia and Hunter, that the end would be a gigantic reveal, parent vs parent, Nightmare King orchestrating the fight. Zoey would go to find Lunia, find her at her castle weakened or context, Find out that’s her MOM. Then the Nightmare King shows up on the boat to attack the place, Lunia recognizes Night Hunter, says his real name, which makes Zoey go: Mom… DAD?!
And the Nightmare King laughs about it, loving the idea of breaking up a family in the process, Hunter is reluctant and wide eyed as he doesn’t want to fight.
My theory started as her mother was attacked by the nightmare king and while trying to fight him off with Hunter, she was defeated and he was corrupted, forgetting who his family was. Or perhaps he known and just held it over Zoey’s head with the teasing “Kiddo” and helping her at one point by misfiring his arrow. You know, like an evil dad who doesn’t want his daughter to win, but also doesn’t want her hurt.
I think the reason he’s all bundled up isn’t just secrecy for Mateo, but also so Zoey doesn’t recognize him. I think he ran away from home in the waking world too when he turned on Lunia and helped the Nightmare King be free.
Tumblr media
But yeah, I still have the theory that they are her parents, at least Hunter is her dad, it would have been such an interesting twist. Oh well, show was cute, I have a character I’m making for it.

Okay so no Caed Nua as an abandoned haunted house, but would you write about Neketaka as a not at all abandoned but still haunted AF city?
I would!!! Especially as it’s got a lot of overlap, given both Caed Nua and Neketaka just..... plastered over the Remains of What Came Before, and everyone just sort of forgot about it, but the House City Did Not Forget.
(A note: I’m on much much shakier ground as far as the real life cultures that inspired the devs with this one, so like, if you’ve got more info let me know if I’m wildly off base or like, rude, because all I’ve got is two years of Polynesian art and a thorough grounding in modern American, nebulously European, and fairly specifically 17th c Japanese haunted house archetypes.)
So Neketaka, canonically, is built on top of several centuries worth of Other Cities, not all of which are holding up that well. (I suspect most of the, uh, old empire(?) construction actually was built into the caves under the current city on purpose, given the Gullet hasn’t been swallowed up yet; despite all the shaky platforms there’s solid rock somewhere under all that, and that buildings for the living were repurposed for the dead at some point when they decided to start building on top of the mountain as well. All of that was more or less sealed off by Engwith, to my understanding, in an attempt to hide the God Battery Ukaizo, likely with people still living there, given the sheer number of corpses you see both below the Gullet and in Berath’s temple, which, again to my understanding, leads into the same complex, deep enough down. So you’ve got a whole city under the city, plus whatever layers of construction ended up in between (and there’s at least a couple of places that have two or three of those, given where we’re allowed to go), and that city did not go quietly.
(To circle back around to the Caed Nua essay nobody gets to read yet, it’s fairly canon that anything that exists long enough gets pretty damn haunted, for whatever definition of haunted applies. Places and things involved with death do this more quickly, obviously, but even sufficiently strong emotion will do, based on all the soul bound objects. Caed Nua is explicitly canonically odd because it Went Haunted almost before it was finished being built, not because it *is* haunted, and Haunted Hill scares people because that shit happened literally overnight, not because it happened at all; nobody cares about the equally (but much more gradually) haunted sewers, after all. Neketaka was essentially buried alive, as far as I know, and history swallowed that fact up whole, so the highly reasonably fact the city is haunted is not well remembered, and it’s real sad about that.)
A small part of the reason Neketaka is such a mess (99% of it is absolutely outside politics But) is that I doubt the Huana are as a general rule used to living in haunted spaces; some tribes certainly are, and all the Watershapers are probably at least a little Concerned by non-haunted places, considering, but anybody whose tribe used to live outside the city is probably not having a great time with that bit, on top of, y’know, living in a city at all. Neketaka seems fairly inclined to leave the surface city to itself, though in addition to being at least partially built on solid rock, the reason the Gullet is still standing is definitely because the city wants it to be, and it’s definitely more ‘active’ about Berath’s temple, and probably Delver’s Row as well. It also probably doesn’t help that p much nobody can recognize the haunting for what it is, for various reasons, and anyone who should is very throughly ignoring the situation, mostly for political and/or health reasons. (The Watcher is special, and the city loves them, for better or worse; not everyone can say the same!) Digging too far into the City’s city-ness just means you get it’s attention, and then it probably tries to help you, and it’s idea of helpful is not exactly a good time.
Speaking of, I suspect that to Neketaka the City, killing anyone who ends up in the Old City quickly looks like a kindness; the original people who died there either died fast or suffered for a long time, and the City as an Entity is definitely influenced by that drawn out despair, the way the city as a city is, even if they don’t recognize that about themselves. It certainly doesn’t look like a kindness to anyone else, but I really do think that’s the City’s idea of trying to help.
There’s definitely a lot more to unpack here, like why the City is sad and how that affects things like, oh, the Vailian and Rautai presence, but I haven’t felt it out yet, and I need to do some work with the map but yeah! Neketaka is Real Damn Haunted and nobody wants to acknowledge that, and it’s very sad about everything. Tune in next time for why my gut feeling says the priest dude in Berath’s temple and also Dereo in Delver’s Row are having the best luck with the thing, while Her Majesty is accidentally fighting a war on an extra front.
#look I can talk fairly intelligently about a bunch of different cultures’ art I’m just using Polynesian because they’re all thereabouts#also being able to talk about art does not make me an expert on any level about the actual cultures so uh#also to my knowledge polynesia in general doesn’t really go for haunted houses as a supernatural thing#haunted boats haunted weapons haunted sharks (?) sure but not really haunted houses#anyways#unrelated Things of Note:#Defiance Bay has sewers and running water and people have at least vaguely figured out germ theory#given it’s not a particularly modern city we can expect all those things are The Norm#caed nua almost certainly has plumbing as does Dyrford odd as that might seem#they probably have a septic tank and a leech field for dyemaking purposes however#the vast graveyards out in the middle of nowhere are probably a response to the whole death = faster hauntings thing#because it’s a smidge ridiculous to carry your dead All the Way Out There without a really good reason#I would really like to know if Neketaka also loves Adaryc; that’s ether a watcher thing or a Watcher thing and I’d like some more data#I suspect the thesis here is for Caed Nua the other side of love is possession; for Neketaka it’s grief#alternately: caed nua is v haunted and everyone would like to ignore that; Neketaka is also v haunted and everyone’s forgotten that#given that what causes a haunting to manifest is probably the same ground in uh soul dust the gods eat#and that that canonically is heavily influenced by the people it came from#I expect that the gods have changed more than they or anyone else knows or expected#like I bet if you put Magran the baby god next to Magran during Deadfire they wouldn’t recognize each other#....also entirely unrelated to any of this but I would not be surprised if people who eat adra#started showing physical side effects to go with the metaphysical ones#don’t eat adra kids you won’t like the results#I am once again laughing at the fact that if something is old enough to have a personality it unabashedly loves the Watcher#because that’s also a theme#I really need a better timeline on the Caed Nua was originally buried x Neketaka was originally buried y front#Caed Nua is.... arguably older? in terms of grief-stricken haunted shit not like in general#I’d need way more information for which place is Actuallh Older#it certainly had more time to stew in its resentment and less people to look after in the interim#...also y’know it’s a lot smaller and was tied into that adra pillar for a long goddamned time#which definitely helped it form a personality fast

Tranquility | Kit Fisto x Reader
Tumblr media
Word count: 2326
Warnings: Near-drowning, near-death experience, blood, brutal injury, CPR (or whatever this star wars equivalent would be), scars, fluff, super slow-burn, smut in later chapters
Summary: You often dream about the night you nearly lost your life at the maw of a karkarodon, however it isn’t the trauma that haunts you. Fortunately, fate presents an opportunity to reunite you with your savior face-to-face, and this time, you arent going to let him forget you.
(a/n: @hxldmxdxwn this is 4 u bby bc i know you’ll read it. :) i have a really bad habit of making established backstories for the reader so sorry if thats annoying. Second chapter will have the *chefs kiss* sexy times, so dont worry if this one isn’t doin it for ya - it’s comin)
Chapter 1 of  4?
It’s so cold.
Tumblr media
The small speederboat that carried you across the waves was softly rocking, beginning to lull you to sleep. You had deflected the remaining power in the boat to the repulsorlift and scanners in order to conserve enough energy to make it back home once you had done all you could after a long day and night of sifting through the sea’s garbage. You had collected as much trash as your cargo floor could hold and managed to save thirteen different sea creatures from their mangled nooses, but you weren’t ready to call it a night yet.
There’s always one more, I can save one more life.
And you were always right. The scanner in front of you beeped loudly, depicting what appeared to be a large turtle caught in an old electroshock net approaching on the screen. You rushed to action and honed in on the poor creature’s location, your vibroblade at the ready. Once you were close enough, you carefully pulled the turtle closer to the speeder and cut away all the suffocating bits of netting that trapped it.
“It’s okay, it’s okay, there...that’s better.”
As soon as it was freed from its entanglement, the turtle swam a quick delightful loop around the speeder before it returned to you and rested its head in your palm. You smiled, thanking it with some soft chin scratches. This is why you always went above and beyond doing what you do. You loved the seas and it’s creatures, and knowing that you were making a difference, even for only a handful of lifeforms, was worth it. You bid the turtle farewell as it returned to the depths, uttering a sigh of relief that was hastily followed by a yawn. If you were going to have the strength to do all this again the next morning, you needed to head out.
The giant net you had saved the turtle from weighed far more than you anticipated. Once you had finally pulled it all from the water, the screen beeped a loud warning signaling cargo capacity was at its absolute maximum.
“Well, looks like we’re going the old-fashioned way tonight.”
After the push of a button, the speederboat hit the surface of the water with a huge smack nearly sending you overboard. Repulsors were convenient for saving time, but your old speeder simply couldn’t handle the weight. Every night you contemplated getting a bigger and better one once you had earned enough credits, but for now you had to make due. You set the course for home and climbed into your seat, looking up at the stars. Your eyelids became heavier and heavier, and with the aid of the swaying waves, you drifted off to sleep.
***
There was a loud thud accompanied with the convulsion of the boat, which knocked you out of your seat and jolted you awake. Your forehead hit the hard durasteel control panel and you felt the hot blood trickle down your face. You held your hand beneath your nose and stumbled up onto your feet, groaning in pain, as you checked your surroundings. You weren’t sure how long you’d been napping, but the speederboat was stalled and you couldn’t see land in any direction. More importantly, there weren’t any obstructions nearby that your boat could have hit. You started to panic as you jumped over to your control panel and searched the area. Luckily, the shoreline was only about eight klicks to the southeast, but you still weren’t near as close as you should have been; especially considering the fact that your fuel reserves were gone. Completely empty.
“Oh, no…”
You did your best to keep calm and think rationally, trying to focus on how you were going to get home. You had some emergency rations on board, and there was likely something in the garbage pile that you could use to help row the speeder back to the docks. It would take a while, but you would get there eventually. Unfortunately the moment your panic dissipated, a giant red flash sped across the tracking screen. If you blinked you would have missed it. The air felt ominous and your gut was screaming at you to defend yourself. You pulled out your vibroblade and took a defensive stance, hoping, praying, that your instinct was wrong.
It wasn’t.
The monster shot up from the water and slammed directly into you, pinning and crushing you beneath its massive, heavy frame. It’s forearm was pushing against your neck, immobilizing you as a rumbling roar of a chuckle escaped it’s gargantuan jaw. Rows and rows of deadly sharp teeth flashed at you, filling you with dread. A karkarodon. It released its hold on you and stood up, laughing at the sight of your incapacitated state as you coughed and groaned.
“Finally. I’ve been hunting you for a while…”
He studied the substantial collection of trash on board and scoffed. You tried to ignore the pain and prop yourself up onto your elbows, just in time to watch the vile shark start throwing the piles of junk back into the water. You choked on your words many times before you finally got them out.
“S-stop! What do you think you’re doing?! Isn’t the sea your home?”
The karkarodon snarled and stomped back over to you, waving an accusatory webbed finger in your direction.
“Your actions are disrupting my meals, pathetic human! With the shallows obstructed with this, my prey are forced into the deep waters where I reside. My prey would swim directly into my jaws, until you encouraged them to return here.”
His words were meant to intimidate you, however you took them as a compliment. Your hard work was beginning to pay off after all, and you were saving more lives than you knew. You spoke through a hearty grin, blinking away blood and tears.
“Sounds like a personal problem.”
Before you could even react, his denticled leg collided with your ribs and launched you into a durasteel plate on the other side of the boat. Blood now coated your tongue with a metallic film, and your vision was beginning to fade. Was it really going to end like this? Your eyes danced across the floor, spotting your vibroblade that was thankfully just within reach.
Not yet. Not without a fight.
You pushed through the torment your body was suffering through sufficiently enough to grab hold of your weapon. After a handful of wheezes through gritted teeth, you willed yourself onto your feet and charged at the gilled bandit, catching him off guard with enough time to cleave your blade deep into his rhomboid with all your strength.
With a resounding bellow you were knocked onto your backside by the seething karkarodon, who now gazed at you with rage-filled predatory eyes.
“That’s it, time to feast!”
Tumblr media
Pain still shot through you from your attack and although your body couldn’t be willed to move, you had to move, somewhere, anywhere, soon, quickly, now. Move!
However, it was too late. It had all happened so rapidly. As you were preparing to fling yourself off the vessel, the beast shot at you with accelerated velocity and clamped his jagged maw deep into your flesh, encompassing the entirety of your shoulder and bicep, the crunch and popping of bone and muscle fermenting into every cell within you as you were both plunged into the sea. The water erupted in crimson plumes the further the teeth sank into you and the deeper you descended into the cold abyss. You could no longer determine which hurt was coming from where, and your breath had become lodged in your throat.
So, this was it. You were going to die.
Strangely, you began to feel at peace. You relaxed every part of your being and gazed upward into the bursts of your own blood that gracefully danced up to the surface of the water. You pondered on the life you had lived, and prepared to accept your fate.
I only wish I could have done more…
Something dropped into the sea above you, creating a foamy eruption of bubbles as it dived directly into the swirling red. It was nearly impossible to tell what it was, as you began to fade in and out of consciousness. A rod of peridot light illuminated in front of the mysterious personage as it drew closer to you. Another monster? You couldn’t be sure; you were fading, and fading fast. The presence of this figure comforted you in a strange way you couldn’t explain, and as it swam nearer you could finally see that it wasn’t an it, but a he. His face, his body, his rippling tendrils entered your field of vision, and you couldn’t help but smile as you let go of everything.
Tumblr media
It all faded into blackness, and you were gone.
***
“Breathe. Please, breathe through me.”
A voice. It echoed in your mind as though it were yours, but it clearly belonged to someone else. There was a feeling, a desire, to focus solely on your breath. To remember how to breathe. Slowly, ever so slowly, sensations began to return to you. Firstly, pain. Maker, it was almost unbearable.
“It is alright. Keep breathing.”
The next sensation was pressure; you sensed varying pressures all over as you started to encapsulate your own body once again. More soreness and pain, but also warmth. You could feel...something. Where were your hands? Your eyes refused to open, but your skin was able to feel touch better than before. You willed your fingers to move, and there was another sensation - something was pressed against you, or someone, that was supporting you. You felt skin, so unlike your own, but so smooth and warm.
“That’s it. Stay focused.”
There was something so soothing about this voice. It was so close, just who did it belong to? Another sensation overtook you - chill, the chill of the moving water. There was a stable pressure at the nape of your neck, around your waist, and...on your mouth. Something sparked, but you weren’t entirely sure what. You focused on your breathing again, and you clutched the warm body that was holding onto you. This was a person after all. A man, and his mouth was pressed against yours. You were breathing his air. You felt your body squirm a little as your face tensed with all the nerves that were hitting you.
“We’re almost there, just a little more.”
The outline of his lips against yours became more prominent with each passing second. It seemed that the longer you felt this intense pain, the faster your mind was being restored. Curiosity began to overtake you now, and you had to see...slowly, you opened your eyes. Everything was blurry and distorted for a while, but you could see his silhouette. Your arms were wrapped around his neck, and your hands were clutching onto some of his numerous headtails. His eyes - you could finally see his eyes, mere inches from your own. You gazed into them, completely mesmerized by how somehow the entire galaxy was reflected in there, while they bore into yours in return. You felt the corners of his mouth extend into a smile.
“That’s a good girl.”
Water rushed around your ears as the both of you emerged your heads through the surface of the sea. He still clutched you tightly, but he moved his hand from your nape to your cheek as he broke your oral connection, allowing you to breathe for yourself. Naturally, you gasped and coughed, the sting of the pain from your endeavor engulfing your entire body in waves. Your nautolan hero kept you above water as he used the force to pull the edge of your speederboat to him and carefully lifted you into it. You rolled onto your back, still convulsing and shivering before he hopped over and held you with your back against his chest. He vigorously rubbed your good arm to conduct heat while he activated the comm on his free wrist to contact his astromech.
Tumblr media
You made the mistake of looking over at your shoulder; or at least what was left of it. The churned flesh was flayed into hanging bits, and you had lost so much blood that the exposed meat was nearly white. You instinctively used your good arm to grab the nautolan’s right hand and clutch it desperately, trying to think of whatever you could to distract from the pain. You had a thousand questions for him, but one more dire than the rest. You did your best to form a coherent sentence.
“N-name...w-what’s your-”
He carefully pulled you in even closer to his bare chest, enveloping you in as much warmth as possible. You felt the rumble in his throat as he answered you.
“I am Kit Fisto. Jedi Knight of the Republic.”
The whir of a Republic transport sounded overhead, and Kit swiftly carried you in his arms over to the hatch. Your eyes never left his face - you wanted to remember it forever.
“Kit…”
He looked down at you and smiled handsomely with both his lips and his eyes, a Kit Fisto trademark that you would come to treasure for the rest of your life. You could hear the sound of clones clamoring around to get you ready to transfer to the med unit, and your lids became heavy again. You drank in Kit’s features until exhaustion overcame you and you slowly released his hand.
Thank you, Kit Fisto.
***
(Notes below the cut)
(Thanks so much for reading! Better yet, thank you for sticking through to the end :) I wanted to add some notes before I post chapter 2, since there are some things that might need clarifying. First, not super important but I thought it was neat: turtles are a thing in star wars canon, and nautolans were meant to be depicted living on the backs of giant turtles in the special features of the clone wars. I like to think that the reader saving the turtle is forshadowing her encounter(s) with Kit. :) Next, there’s the ‘breathing Kit’s air’ thing that without context totally seems weird, so I’ll try to clarify for those who haven’t read the Tides of Terror comic: (spoilers?) Kit is amphibious and can breathe both air and water, so when Aayla is underwater unable to hold her breath for much longer, Kit totally fucking kisses her in THE MOST SEXUALLY CHARGED IMAGE IN STAR WARS links their mouths and is able to breathe for both of them. :) Hope this helped some things make more sense!
If you have any questions for me my asks are always open :) happy reading!)

Additional Monsters List
Armos are the remnants of Hyrule’s ancient soldiers, long since turned to stone. They appear as simple humanoid statues in plate armor, armed with a sword and shield. They have a large crack in their back, revealing an unnatural glow from within. Their eyes and this crack only begin to glow when awakened. Armos can no longer move their stone limbs, and thus jealously try to ram or crush any living people that come near. They can be found in the oldest ruins of Hyrule, still standing guard over the place they once protected. Once defeated, they will drop their sword and shield as a boon.
Aeralfos are a variant of Lizalfos that are winged. They are rare, often solitary, and are more intelligent than their Lizalfos counterparts. They often fashion armor for themselves from stolen metal, bone, leather, or fur. Their coloration is also often darker than that of Lizalfos, and their behavior more subdued and calculated, especially in combat. They tend to inhabit the taller ruins in Hyrule, especially those also near water. The same items that can be collected from Lizalfos can be gotten from Aeralfos, with the addition of armor and weapons.
Arm-mimics are a small monster which, when within range, will perfectly mimic the movements of any person near it. They appear to be similar to clay Haniwas, with rounded figures, empty eyes, open mouths, and each arm bending in different directions: Up, and down. They are not particularly dangerous but will headbutt anyone who manages to run into them. The carapace of arm-mimics has similar properties to monster horns and can be used in elixirs.
Aruroda are large scorpion monsters, the main difference being the large singular eye on their faces. During the day they bury themselves in the sand of the Gerudo desert and ambush those who pass by, and roam freely at night. They are a frequent meal for Molduga, as they often wander into their territories. Aruroda venom is potent and can be used to coat weapons or made into an antivenom, and the tough chitin is useful for small pieces of armor.
Bari are drifting jellyfish-like monsters often found along the coast, which electrocute anything it comes in contact with and may split into smaller Biri when attacked. While they move slowly, they will attack anything that comes close. They are also scavengers, and use the small pincers on the end of their two largest limbs to pick scraps off things it finds. Their jelly has potent anti-electric and slight healing properties.
Bullbo are large boars which are often tamed by bokoblins and ridden. They can be found rarely in forests, as boars can, and may be ordinary boars tainted by Malice. Bullbo can also drop large amounts of high-quality meat.
Bubbles are animated skulls surrounding by a blazing blue fire, which emerge in the dryer parts of Hyrule (Apart from Gerudo desert) at night. They fly erratically and can be difficult to predict, and don’t always seem to attack those who come too close to them. However, their flames will burn those that come in contact with, as well as curse them with such weakness that they will not be able to lift their weapon- Though, only temporarily.
Chilfos are tall, skeletal ice monsters found in the coldest parts of Hyrule. They often hide among glaciers and large icicles, and attack passersby with a lance of ice. Their bodies can be easily shattered or broken, and unlike other stalfos-like enemies, they will not reform. Sometimes, they have rupees or gems frozen in their bodies.
Desbresko, or Skullfish, are skeletal fish that can be found in swarms in most major bodies of water. They tend to hide under bridges or in the shadows, and swarm and bite anything that enters the water, or may jump out of the water to attack those in boats. They are carnivorous, but unsuccessful hunters of small prey such as fish due to their tendency to swarm and then begin attacking each other, allowing their prey to escape.
Devalant are burrowing centipede-like insects with large pincers that can be found in Gerudo Desert. They will either attempt to ambush prey or will spit chunks of sandstone at them from a distance. If they manage to ambush or knock unconscious their prey, they will the drag them beneath the sand until they suffocate. Devalant dens may be home to various treasures from their prey, and their chitin may be useful in armor.
Darknuts are sets of ancient armor possessed by spirits. Their armor has decayed over time, causing their movements to be slow and jerky. Like Armos, they tend to be found in the oldest ruins of Hyrule. Unlike Armos, they still have a warrior’s spirit and will fight their opponent fairly. Darknuts are often the defenders of ancient ruins which hold treasure.
Deku Babas are plant-like monsters which hide their large heads beneath the ground, waiting for anything it can eat to pass by. It will then ambush them, making use of it’s fangs and crushing jaw strength to immobilize prey before trying to swallow it whole. Their saliva is a potent acid that quickly breaks down flesh and bone. They can most often be found in forests. When killed their heads rapidly dry and become seed pods, which can be used in cooking, or thrown on the ground for a bright flash and stun effect. Their venom can also be used to coat weapons.
Dodongo are large, slow-moving reptilian monsters which compete with the Gorons for their favored food- Rock roast. Dodongos aren’t particularly aggressive, but are defensive, and will attack those who get too close to their nests or food. They can often be found lazing on the shores of lava pools, but sometimes may be drifting in open lava, and their craggy rava-lock backs can be mistaken for a firm platform to jump on when crossing lava. When attacked they may bite, swing their heavy tails, or spit fire to defend themselves. Their teeth and talons are useful in creating long-lasting fireproof elixirs.
Floormasters are shadowy hands which emerge from dark portals in the ground, which drag unsuspecting creatures and people into their portals and spit them back out elsewhere. They drain their prey of their life force to sustain themselves. They are nocturnal monsters and hide in the shadows to ambush their prey, and can typically be found in ruins but will also show up along frequently used roads. When defeated their dark energy may be harvested, though it’s purpose is unknown.
Garo are robed spirits which haunt Tanager Canyon, attacking those who have found themselves at the bottom, or rarely, those crossing the Tabantha Great Bridge. Agile and intelligent, they can be formidable foes, and lethal to the unwary. They appear at night to hooded travelers, and are rumored to tell the location of a hidden, ancient treasure when defeated.
Gyorg are shark-like monsters with armored heads which ram boats to knock the inhabitants into the water. They are aggressive and persistent, but have a small territory and will not give chase if the sailor manages to get beyond them. Gyorg meat is considered a delicacy.
Kagarok are large birds which nest in cliffs and other high places. They typically won’t attack unless their nests are approached. They may also roost near monster camps to feed on scraps and alert monsters of nearby attackers or food. Their eggs are highly nutritious and their golden, iridescent feathers are prized for their beauty.
Like-Likes are tube-like creatures which swallow their prey, spit them out, and retain their metal equipment. Their stomach acids slowly disintegrate the metal, and in some cases will first break down the rust, resulting in polished equipment if it is retrieved quickly enough. Like-Likes do not move quickly but will often linger around Bokoblins and Lizalfos as garbage disposal, and may sneak up on adventurers while they deal with the other monsters.
Poe are spirits carrying lanterns which try to lure travelers off the road at night. They attempt to lead them into danger, either off cliffs or into monster camps. They seem to have no desire other than to trick the living, but may throw the fire of their lantern at those who manage to come too close.
Shell Blade are large clam-like monsters with razor-sharp teeth and a soft interior. They tend to open their shells in a threat display before suddenly lunging, snapping their shells shut with enough force to take off a limb. They burrow themselves in beaches and shallow seawater, but will attack if approached when exposed. The inside of their shells are lined with mother-of-pearl, making them prized for their uses in jewelry and crafting.
Tektites are giant four-legged insects which can often be found floating on the surface of still or slow-moving water. Their pale blue underbellies allow them to blend in when view from below the water’s surface. They typically feed on anything floating on the water, or otherwise catch small fish using the pincers on the ends of their forelegs. They tend to attack those who get too close to the waterline. Their meat is favored by Lizalfos, but tends to have an oily and bitter taste to Hylians and other races, though it is edible and the oil is used as a topical painkiller and anti-inflammatory.

Now for something a little different- Additional monsters for the BOTW world, pulled from previous games.

Ghost Fleet of Truk Lagoon
According to the United Nations there are over three million shipwrecks on the ocean floor. In the Pacific Ocean is a group of beautiful islands in Micronesia known as the Chuuk Islands.
Within these islands sits the shark-infested Truk Lagoon. History would not pay much attention to this tropical paradise except for one fact—this lagoon has a very large number of shipwrecks.
Over 50 ships litter the Truk Lagoon seabed all sunk there during World War ll. The Chuuk Islands served as a Japanese navel base during the war.
In 1944, the Americans launched “Operation Hailstorm” which became known as the Japanese Pearl Harbor. The Allied attack lasted for three days at the end of which 275 airplanes and over 50 ships were sunk. This made Truk Lagoon the largest ship graveyard in the world.
For 25 years these wrecked ships and planes went virtually untouched. The reason for this was two-fold, deadly sharks and bombs.
Many of these sunken ships still have full cargos. They contain fighter aircraft, tanks, bulldozers, railroad cars, motorcycles, torpedoes, mines, bombs, boxes of munitions, radios and thousands of other kinds of weapons. They also contain human remains.
More than 3,000 people were believed to have died during the attacks. Despite the risks involved, divers from around the world consider Truk Lagoon a must do. Many of these divers believe that the lagoon is haunted. “Destination Truth” an American television show did an underwater ghost-hunt at Truk Lagoon based on many of these reports.
One prevalent report they investigated was the eerie sounds of truck engines on the sunken Hoki Maru ship.
This ship has a full cargo of trucks. They were able to back up these past reports when they captured an EVP with the sound of truck engines, “turning over and starting up”. At the time this recording was made there were no boat engines running on the surface.
Other divers have reported strange sounds coming from the shipwreck Fuji Kawamaru. They state when they have been near the engine room they have heard noises of machinery and grinding. Near this engine room is a pile of human remains.
The Chuuk Islands themselves are also considered to be haunted. One local woman reported seeing a strange glowing light floating through a cave. One member of the Destination Truth team reported that he was touched by something while in this cave.

New additions
Mythika has gained a lot of new residents these last past months, and many left to join the guild of dropouts.
These are the most significant changes and new creatures.
Tumblr media
Apocalypse Locust (Biblical)(Demon/Vermin/Parasite)(Medium) – Half demon and half monstrous locust, these horrors are the main armies for the Horsemen of the Apocalypse. When Apocalypse Locusts are born they are small like real locust, they need to enter a human-victims mouth and then from the inside corrupt their new host into a monstrous new Apocalypse Locust.
Tumblr media
Boobrie (Scottish)(Beast/Avian)(Large) – Dangerous water birds that kind of resemble the ancient birds called Hesperornis but they have the size of an elephant and the appetite and behavior of a Mosasaur. They are at home in swamps as in coastal regions and often snatch pirates and other seafaring folk from boats when they bend over the side of the ship. Boobrie are very slow and clumsy on land.
Tumblr media
Cagrino (Roma Gypsies)(Fae/Beast)(Small) – Small and cruel yellow hedgehog creatures that are mostly found in fae-infested forests and fields. They love to torture other creatures (especially horses for some unknown reason) and their mischief is always evil and deadly. Being stung by their yellow quills means you are in for a lot of bad luck, these creatures feed on agony and disasters which they spread with their bad-luck powers. They kinda replaced Likho in Mythika, because I have too much small humanoids and no other porcupine/hedgehog creatures other than Pukwudgie who only shares the quills.
Tumblr media
Ghul (Arabian)(Elemental/Genie)(Large/Huge) – Ghuls replaced my Seitaad as sand monsters, Seitaad is a very obscure monster and no information other than a dinosaur is known to internet, so I decided to replaced it for a much more known sand monster. However in the real myth the Ghul has little to do with sand, but I kinda find it a tight fit, they are djinn of earth and live around deserts. In mythika they look like a living sandstorm with a vaguely humanoid shadow inside it.
Tumblr media
Gowrow (North America)(Dragon/Drake)(Large) – Gowrow replaces the Nidhogg as earth-dragon in Mythika, the Nidhogg is still in mythika but now as boss. Gowrow are wingless brown dragons that burrow through the ground and burst from the ground when they find prey above, they also create pitfalls and they have massive elephant-like tusks.
Hala (Bulgarian)(Elemental)(Large) – Replaces the Ebajalg as air elemental that looks like a whirlwind with dark eyes in it. The upgraded Hala is a cold whirlwind with hailstones. They do have links with demons and hags in Mythika, they are mostly found in service of Veela, Black Annis and demons which enjoy their destructive and cruel nature.
Inulpamahuida (Patagonia)(Vermin/Plant)(Large/Huge) – Ok this monster was already there, but I removed it a couple of times and now it is back as a giant stick-insect monster from the mountains. I love stick-insects/walking sticks and this monster is perfect for it.  They often create deadfall traps in the forest mountains and while they are herbivore they are very hostile to interlopers.
Tumblr media
Ladon (Greek)(Plant/Dragon)(Huge) – These look like dragons made from plant-material, they are (with Sphinxes, Argus and Mummies) the best Guardians one can have, but they have a cruel and evil reputation so mostly evil fae use these plant dragons as guardians for their groves. The biggest of the Ladon is the guardian of the golden apples which grant immortality.
Tumblr media
Land Wight (Norse)(Elemental/Undead)(Gargantuan) – Land Wights or Landvaettir are bizarre creatures, they look like enormous earth elementals with a undead wight-like creature growing from its shoulder like some living cyst, the Wight like creature is the brain of the elemental and controls earth so well that it can create any form from it. They often control and entire landscape, this makes them very powerful monsters. Some landwights are neutral and don’t mind interlopers, others are hostile to all that invade their lands and attack on sight, and their sight stretches far.
Nependis (Medieval European)(Beast/Chimerae)(Large) – Half gorilla apes and half boars, these ogre-looking horrors are faster than you would think in the trees they call home. They use their large hoof-like feet for climbing.
Tumblr media
Orang Minyak (Malay)(Ooze/Parasite)(Medium) – Replaces the Black Tamanous as black ooze-like creature. In the real myth they are male humanoids covered in black oil like substance. In Mythika they are ooze parasites which take over humans and turn them into dangerous perverts as the humanoids needs and oozes aliens thoughts merge.
Tumblr media
Pard (Medieval European)(Fae/Beast)(Medium) – The fastest land creature, and the natural concurrent and enemies of Kamaitachi. These beautiful and colorful long-legged cheetah/lynx creatures are so fast the eye doesn’t even see them.
Tumblr media
Phobetor (Greek)(Fae/Bogey)(Large) – Named after the God of Nightmares, the Phobetor is the most powerful dream-haunting monster in Mythika, they are known as the Kings of Nightmares, they turn your dreams into the most horrible and deadly nightmares. They look like demonic masks with a long floating cloak underneath it, inside this cloak horrible images, skulls, claws and other nightmarish things emerge and disappear again in the inky darkness.
Tumblr media
Punga (Australian)(Aberration/Pisces)(Large) – Also named after a God, the God of ugly creatures and monstrous sea horrors. These look a bit like the Tensei Megami Forneus demons, a horrifying merge of humanoid and manta ray. They are evil masterminds that control shoals of Sting Rays, Sharks and other monstrous sea beasts, whenever there are Punga around the rays, sharks, marlins, octopi and other such creatures are more violent, ugly and monstrous looking.
Tumblr media
Rawhead (English)(Fae/Bogey)(Medium) – Also known as bloody bones, these are much like the Butcher from Diablo and the killers from all those slasher movies (Halloween and such) they behave much like monstrous butchers and they are famous bogeymen that terrorize child and adult alike. Being caught by one of these horrifying bogeymen means you’re in for a long torture. Rawheads often serve evil fae Gods, leaders and unseelie as butchers and cooks. The skins and faces of their victims often decorate their chambers and clothes.
Shen (Chinese)(Aberration/Mollusk)(Large) – Enormous, intelligent clam monsters that weave illusions and lure other creatures into their gaping maw. The pearl inside them is worth a lot of gold as it can create powerful, realistic illusions.
Tumblr media
Taniwha (Australian)(Beast/Pisces)(Large) – Also known as land-sharks these horrifying monsters look like bizarre sharks that swim through earth and sand as easy as a fish swims through water. They replace the Yagim.
Tengu (Japanese)(Humanoid/Avian)(Small) – There are gentle and evil Tengu. Evil Tengu tend to form gangs in the urban settings and rob other creatures from their valuables or their lives if they protest. Tengu are good assassins and thieves and many more powerful monsters beat them into submission so they serve them. They have unique weapons that only they can use, which look a bit like Kitana’s fan weapons, these fans have magical powers over wind and air.
Tumblr media
Tlanusi (Native American)(Aberration/Mollusk)(Large) – Enormous leech monsters that can turn a cold river into a steaming pool that cook all the fish in it alive. Tlanusi can create geysers and boil water. They look like enormous leeches with red/white stripes.
Troll (Norse)(Giant/Fae)(Large) – Trolls are green-skinned natural fae giants with bizarre regeneration powers. But when you cut of their head, two will grow back, cut their bodies and a arm may grow from the wound. Some trolls are covered in arms and strange looking warts. Their regenerative skin and flesh is very fragile to mutations and no two trolls look the same. (Well their game sprites are all the same though)
Tumblr media
Tuyango (Argentina)(Beast/Avian)(Large) – While the Boobrie now more closely resembles its real myth counterpart of a big bad water bird the Terror Bird spot was again open and it needed to be filled as I LOVE terror birds. Thank God A Book of Creatures gave me the Tuyango! These are probably based off my favorite South American terror birds called Phororacos. In Mythika they are behaving much like the giant terror birds/axe beaks from D&D. They are a serious danger for even humanoids.
Umdhlebi (African)(Plant)(Large) – The only thing the Umdhlebi keeps from its mythological counterpart is its extreme poisonous nature. In the real myth the Umdhlebi is a bizarre tree monster, but because I have more than enough tree-monsters I turned the Umdhlebi into a giant purple Nightshade flower, there aren’t really many flower-based monsters in mythology, so I needed to create my own.
Undine (Alchemy)(Elemental)(Small/Medium/Large/Huge) – Non-evolved Undine look like beautiful blue skinned water nymphs that can control water, their evolved form look like pure water elementals that are wild and dangerous and which can take any form made from water they desire.
Tumblr media
Zburator (Romanian)(Dragon/Beast)(Large) – These are cannibalistic dragons that hunt for other dragons in large packs, they aren’t as strong as other dragons but in packs they easily take down larger dragons that mostly are solitary. They look like scaled wolves with dragon wings and tails. They have sonic howl breath weapons.
Zlatorog (Slovenia)(Beast)(Large) – Also known as Goldhorns. Normally the Zlatorog were very peaceful creatures, but overhunting turned these majestic and powerful mountain goats into violent xenophobic monsters that attack anything on sight. They are hunted for both their golden horns and hooves and their magical healing blood which spawns beautiful red roses that heal anything that eats them. Evil Zlatorog’s blood corrupted into poisonous blood which spawns purple roses.

Zombie Army 4: Dead War Review — Sharknado: Zombie Edition
February 3, 2020 11:00 AM EST
Zombie Army 4: Dead War is the most refined entry in the series so far and offers hours upon hours of zombie-killing content for your enjoyment.
From Resident Evil to the upcoming The Last of Us Part II, zombies have been featured in video games for as long as I can remember. It’s a tried-and-true formula that just works. I think the zombies and video games relationship can be best summed up by paraphrasing Forrest Gump; they belong together like peas and carrots. However, it was Treyarch’s hidden mode from Call of Duty: World at War that made Nazi zombies all the rage. The merging of the two evils inspired the creators of Sniper Elite to feature Nazi zombies in the game’s expansions which ended up being so popular with fans, it went on to spawn its own franchise. Now, the fourth entry in the series, Rebellion’s Zombie Army 4: Dead War, will be releasing shortly on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
At the end of the Zombie Army Trilogy, Hitler was defeated and sent to Hell. It’s now one year later and Hitler’s dead army still roams the earth leaving a path of death and destruction in their wake. In Zombie Army 4: Dead War your task is to defeat this leaderless army of zombies before they can revive their supreme evil leader Adolf Hitler and wipe out humanity in the ultimate zombie apocalypse. The all-new campaign starts in Italy and ends in Hell as you encounter the most grotesque enemies ever seen in the series such as zombie tanks and sharks.
youtube
“Rebellion, who both developed and published Zombie Army 4: Dead War, has improved upon the gunplay quite a bit.”
There are four characters to play as and as you level up, you can customize and upgrade them to match your gameplay style. This includes up to five perk slots that boost your offensive and defensive tactics along with a special category that provides things like the ability to carry more ammo for weapon types. You need to level up to unlock these slots with the fifth and final one unlocking at level 35. Your character can also get a special melee attack that ranges from giving you a small amount of health to an incendiary axe throw.
Rebellion, who both developed and published Zombie Army 4: Dead War, has improved upon the gunplay quite a bit. The game also still includes the oh-so-satisfying X-Ray Kill Cam made famous in the Sniper Elite series. If you are unfamiliar with the X-Ray Kill Cam, it slows up time so you can watch the bullets shatter brains, organs, and bones. If you have played any third or first-person shooters before, controls and gameplay will feel familiar and easy to master.
Zombie Army 4’s arsenal includes a handful of rifles, assault rifles, shotguns, and pistols that are typical and standard in most WWII shooters such as the MP44 and the Gewehr 43. Making them unique is the fact that they are upgradeable with a variety of cool perks that will enhance your bullets with lightning or Vampir scopes that return a small amount of health on successful critical hits.
Zombie Army 4: Dead War’s campaign can be played solo or with up to three others in co-op. Unfortunately, I couldn’t test out co-op too extensively in this pre-release form. Since I prefer playing campaigns first on my own before joining others anyway, this didn’t really concern me, although it’s easy to see that the game is designed with cooperative play in mind.
I also tested out the new and improved Horde mode and while it’s not impossible to play on your own, it’s definitely not easy taking on progressively more difficult and numerous waves of zombies. Even in my failure, I still had fun with Horde mode but I’m looking forward to being able to play with more friends once the game releases.
There’s a whole lot more to Zombie Army 4 than just killing zombies. There are objectives and obstacles to conquer which provide a little more depth and polish to the overall experience. Traveling down the canals of Venice in a boat, you will have to stop and refuel with the fuel being scattered throughout the level. Once you find the tanks of fuel, you must make your way back to the boat amidst zombie chaos and only the use of your pistol. For those of you treasure hunters, each chapter includes several collectibles to be had including weapon upgrade kits which you don’t want to miss. Of course, the real reason we are here is to kill zombies, and the game does a good job of not getting repetitive by offering several varieties of zombies to blow away. Half of the battle becomes learning the weaknesses of each type so you can quickly eliminate them.
The graphics and art direction of Zombie Army 4 bring lifelike realism to the various zombie forms as well as depict some of Italy’s notable landmarks in a ruined but still lovely state. The sound crew at Rebellion have added to the intensity of the zombie attacks with a perfect mix of sound effects and zombie cries. The scream of a Suicider will become all too familiar as you frantically seek the direction it’s coming from before it’s too late and self destructs in front of you. I was reminded of the Clickers from The Last of Us and how the sound of them haunted my dreams long after I finished the game.
Zombie Army 4: Dead War poses a challenge in its punishing gameplay that feels mostly balanced, with the exception of the lack of health. I’m currently at level 43 in the game and only a very small portion of my health bar regenerates. In order to regenerate to full health, you need a medkit. You can carry one extra medkit with you, but given the length and difficulty of some chapters, sometimes one alone is not enough. Ammunition is scattered around the levels very generously, so you rarely run out of bullets, but I almost never found medkits. After each level, you are sent to a safe house where you can re-supply and often that was the only time I would see them. I’m not saying I didn’t come across the random medkit here and there, but it was an extremely rare occurrence. I even tested all three difficulties to see if they spawned more frequently on Easy, Medium, or Hard and the result was always the same.
“Zombie Army 4 offers a cohesive and fun experience that doesn’t take itself too seriously.”
Another pitfall of playing games prior to release is that often I’m playing it before it has been fully optimized with the day one patch. That was, unfortunately, the case with Zombie Army 4: Dead War at times. The worst error which took place for me was during the Death Canal mission where I was prompted to pull a lever to lower a bridge but the ability to actually interact with the lever never manifested. For a while, I was stuck here and couldn’t progress. Since it was fairly early in the game, I started over from the beginning and was able to finally move along. There were other similar incidents throughout the game, but nothing as severe as this. Typically, restarting the most recent checkpoint fixed most of my other problems.
Another odd issue I experienced had to do with beating the final boss. Upon defeating this baddie, the game immediately went straight to the main menu, with no story wrap up, cutscenes, or anything. The only way I knew the game was over, was because the achievement for finishing the game popped. Replaying the last chapter properly ended the game for me and I was able to see how things actually wrapped up. Fortunately, these problems I had shouldn’t be an issue for you as Rebellion has sent out the contents of a day one patch that should fix these and a few other minor bugs that are currently plaguing Zombie Army 4.
Unlike the direction the Zombies mode from Call of Duty has taken in the past few iterations, Zombie Army 4 offers a cohesive and fun experience that doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s engaging from start to finish and with its weekly challenges, the arcade-like setup of the chapters and leaderboards, and with Horde Mode, there’s a bunch of replay value here. Zombie Army 4: Dead War has finally broken free of its Sniper Elite shackles and will hopefully give rise to a lasting franchise of smiting out Nazi zombies.

ABAIA (Melanesian Myth)(Beast/Fish)(Huge) (Best Stat: Charisma): Acting as the mothers of all lake creatures these powerful eel horrors protect their “children” with powerful elemental water and storm magic against anyone foolish to disturb the lake in any way. The creatures that live inside their lakes often come to depend on the Abaia’s protection and slowly grow or gain additional powers and strange limbs as the Abaia’s aura will slowly mutate creatures that spend too much time in their waters. Abaia are said to be the favorite children of Amhuluk.

AFANC (Welsh Myth)(Beast/Chimerae)(Medium) (Best Stat: Defense): Combining the terror and strength of a crocodile with the creativity of the beaver, Afanc love to use the bones of their victims to build dams with or turn an entire sewer system into a deadly maze full of traps, giving rise to legends and stories about Sewer Alligators.
Tumblr media
AGHASH (Persian Myth)(Demon/Aberration)(Large) (Best Stat: Intelligence): The demonic eyes of the deserts, these beholder-like horrors often work for Sinlords and Horsemen of the Apocalypse and can see through other creatures eyes, making them the perfect spies. Looking directly into their giant central eye will turn any living creature mad with violence, pain and insanity.
AGRIPPA (French Myth)(Construct/Possessed Object)(Medium) (Best Stat: Intelligence): A possessed animated Grimoire that can absorb other creatures into its dark pages and later summon them again from the same page to fight for it, creating entire armies when they collect more and more victims in their cursed pages.
AHKIYYINI (Inuit Myth)(Undead/Skeleton)(Large) (Best Stat: Charisma): Ogre-sized Skeletons that use musical instruments like violins and drums to create natural disasters with, turning a calm sea into a force of destruction in a handclap. Nature seems to dance to their rhythm, which is bad for their enemies and victims.
Tumblr media
AHUIZOTL (Aztec Myth)(Beast/Chimerae)(Large) (Best Stat: Stealth): Probably created by an insane Aztec God these chimerae species combine the features of monstrous dogs, otters and monkeys. They lure their victims towards the water edge with their mimicry and use the claw on the end of their tail to pull victims from boats or the edge of the water to drown them, then they feed on their nails, teeth and eyes.
AITVARAS (Lithuanian Myth)(Dragon/Shapeshifter)(Small/Medium) (Best Stat: Speed): Created by the first hag Baba Yaga, these shapeshifting dragons look like fiery roosters during the day, but turn into cockatrice-like dragons during the night. @NOTE: All pictures found on GOOGLE PICTURES, not my own work, and mostly here to give an impression of what the creatures COULD look like.
If you see your own artwork and want it removed, just PM me about and I instantly remove it.
@NOTE 2: While all these creatures come from mythology, I gave my own spin to these creatures, many of these creatures don’t have the powers and abilities I gave them. Afanc for example aren’t intelligent in the real myth, they are dumb creatures that just look like beavers but they don’t do anything with their beaver features at all, in my project I give the creatures powers, abilities and looks I think fit the monster more.
