Dear AO3 authors,

PLEASE START TAGGING PROPERLY!!!! I absolutely hate going through the pages of fics looking for something that sparks my interest and seeing something that I thought I filtered out.

For example, reader-insert fics. For the love of everything just put the ‘Reader’ or ‘Reader-Insert’ tag on it. It will not kill you and it will save everyone who doesn’t want to see that a lot of grief. In the Haikyuu!! fandom alone there are thousands of /reader fics that are bot marked with these tags.

Here are screenshots of just one example! Tl;dr AO3 authors need to start tagging xreader fics properly.

I kinda am new to this stuff here so yeah... go easy on me I guess. Listed fandom fun

A bit of random data before we jump into the rankings for listed fandoms …

Since the numbers post yesterday we've had signups for nearly 60 new auctions, bringing the current total to 779. That beats the number of signups for 2016/7, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021, and puts us withing spitting distance of our record last year of 819. Can we do it? Will we do it? Signal boost FTH posts and encourage others to participate. More money raised for good causes, more fanworks in the world — it's a win/win!

We posted yesterday about the state of our unlisted write-in fandoms (we've had nine new ones since then!). Time to check in with the rankings for the listed fandoms.

the angsty fic i can think of is my glee oneshot make the smoke and mirrors disappear which is then continued in another fic so...

during lockdown i had an idea to rewrite the entirety of glee with the premise that Sue Sylvester runs the glee club instead of Mr Schue. I doubt I'll ever write it but it's fun to think about.

i do have a discontinued fic as well that i lost interest in, but other than that, i do want to finish the one's I've started. What are your writing strengths?

i think it changes. sometimes it's dialogue, sometimes action etc. it really depends on what the story needs/what kind of mood I'm in. What are your writing weaknesses?

setting descriptions. i hate describing things Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

large chunks, i'll probably italicise it and write [Blorbo] said in Spanish or something like that. one or two words I'll look up in online dictionaries and implement those. First fandom you wrote for?

longing for the sun you will come (away from home) which is my Argyle x Billy fic. it's very special to me.

eventually the sun goes out and we'll be coming down is the glee fic i just finished and it was very cathartic to write

and my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor is the first Sandman fic i wrote and it holds a place in my heart

This is actually so embarrassing urgh,, I had just gotten into Hetalia and I realised there weren't a lot of male reader inserts so I decided to write that,, I think perhaps even earlier than that I might have written some Y/N x One Direction one shots that are floating around somewhere in a One Direction fan group but we'll just pretend this answer and this question doesn't exist jvfnjbngjb

I recently mentioned the Dr. Miles Nervine medicine thing but other than that I also recently got to look up the sort of hedges and fruit that grows in France

🍦 ⇢ name three good things about a character you hate

I hate two characters, Dobby and Umbridge and since I'm not allowed to say my favourite thing about Dobby was when he met his end I'm left with very little to say. I suppose it's admirable how neither of them ever succumbed to beauty standards. I'm partially amused by Dobby's fashion sense and I suppose one could admire that Umbridge has committed to just being a nasty cunt through and through, it must be tiring to be such a warm turd of a person all the time. That's all you're getting from me, sorry

🦴 ⇢ is there a piece of media that inspires your writing?

Whatever I'm reading at the time! And sometimes even a movie or something (though since I rarely watch those, I rarely get inspiration from that). I also just get very inspired by all the people in this fandom who create things for us all, whether it's writing, artwork, text posts, edits, cosplays, funny videos etc.

Bad grammar or like,, sentences that don't make sense. Even faster if it's both. Or just entire blocks of text, I just can't do it.

I was so new to the fandom and I had no idea about anything other than basic Harry Potter knowledge from way back in the day so I tried coming up with something that made sense lol. I wanted to write fics for the fandom, therefore future journalist and then what's a writing platform in the Harry Potter universe? Well, quibbler sounded more fun with the rest than Daily Prophet lol

Looking for Roleplay Partners

About Me:

Descriptive Roleplayer. My minimum is five computer lines and I can write up to two paragraphs when really interested invested to an rp. (My Writing Samples)

I rp 1x1, and not groups. I've tried it several times, and it became hard to follow so I really don't do them.

I am Eastern Daylight Time, but different time zones are completely fine with me. The more partners the better! :)

I am looking for long term roleplay partners that I can be able to talk, plot and rp with.

I love to plan out roleplays and make tons of headcanons and such as we go!

I roleplay in third person. First and second just feels weird to me.

I rp oc x oc (original only) and oc x canon. Canon x canon really doesn't keep my interest for long so I avoid it when I can.

We can double up or do one on one. If we do the latter, I have a preference of playing my oc or being the female lead.

For all fandoms I am apart of, I have an descriptive oc at the ready for whenever I rp. The same if we roleplayed an original storyline/setting.

Some fandoms have their own storylines and plots to go with them as well!

For some roleplays, I know some people like to take the romantic route, but I'm open to any. You can do romantic, platonic, or even familial routes with any character when we roleplay.

Fandom-wise, I'm also a big fan of crossover roleplays as well. But that can be up for you to decide.

I'm always open to listening to my partner and their boundaries. So if there's something about an rp that makes you uncomfortable, we can work a ways around it to solve the problem.

I have the preference of building up to a scene instead of just jumping into it. Whether it be casual or sexual.

I don't like love triangles, but i'm open to polyamorous relationships in rps. I can play up to three partners.

I do not enjoy being ghosted. If you don't want to continue roleplaying, or there's something about my style you don't like, please tell me instead of just never replying again.

I will have no homophobic, transphobic or any other negative talk about anything from my partner. If that is an attitude that you are going to have, I'd rather not rp with you.

Communication is a big thing with me. So if you want to be my partner, do not just message me and start commanding me on what to do. if you have something in mind, please tell me and we can plan it out together, but bossing me around before we even start is going to make me not want to rp with you.

I will not do horror or historical based storylines.

It isn't a big no, but I'm not a big fan of triangles.
