Counting the Ways

"You know...I am always amazed how beautiful the stars are..." Harmony whispers while her eyes watch the sky. The night is still, quiet with her, Envy, and the countless stars above. They shimmer and sparkle in the deep hue of sapphire fading into onyx deeper into the heavens. She lays next to Envy on a blanket spread over the lush grass. Her hand wrapped around his own as they rested side by side. Light fragrance of flowers drifts in the calm breeze.

All is calm, at least for the time being.

"Envy..." Harmony's voice reaches his ears while slender fingers gently stroke his hand. "I don't know if I told you this before, but I love you more than all the stars in the sky." Then, she giggles as she feels her skin warming up. Her blush must be so dark that it can be noticeable. "Hahahaa! S-sorry! You probably heard of declarations like that before, like in movies or in books!" She turns her head to the side to see him better. "But seriously! I really mean that. I look at the stars and think the vast number is so small compared to how many reasons I love you."

Harmony sits up and gingerly lifts Envy's hand, holding it up to her. "Like, I love your hands...I love how gentle you can be with them. Your slender fingers do wonders, like how you play those beautiful songs on the piano." Her own fingers gently stroke over Envy's hand. Her touch is warm, slowly tracing along his skin.

"They are a bit cool to the touch, but I never minded it." Lowering her head, Harmony's lips gently brush over each of his fingers. leaving soft kisses on Envy's skin. His nails are painted like hers, but she doesn't know that it was done to hide the true extent of the scars he bears. But he couldn't hide all of these scars. These kisses trail from the fingers to his knuckles, then the back of his hand. The kiss lingers there for a moment. Harmony withdraws the kiss while looking at Envy's face.

"I love you and every part of you," Harmony adds and her gaze turns to his delicate wrist just peeking from his sleeve. She saw the slipknot-like scars around his wrists and neck before. They look like bruises that sadly never healed. Something tells her there may be more as well. She remembers the time he showed the mark around his neck during their outings. She still wonders what he's been through to get the scars.

I'm sorry you went through that...

Her free hand lightly tugs his sleeve just a bit. A brief pause to be sure it was okay before dipping her head down to kiss the scar. A chain of kisses wraps around that wrist. Then, Harmony lets that hand go, moving on her hands and knees to crawl over Envy.

"I love how you glow in the moonlight..."

Pure love and warmth shine in her eyes as she picks up his other hand and give it the same treatment.

A kiss on each finger.

A kiss on each knuckle.

Trailing to the back of his hand, and kisses embracing the other wrist. She lightly brushes his long finger from his face. "I love how you smile and the air of mystery you carry."

She gives more kisses, this time on his forehead, above each eye, each cheek, and then, she hovers over his lips. She whispers to him as her eyes draw to a close. "I love you so, Envy..." Then, she gives him a deeper kiss, pouring all her love and passion into it. Her hands stroke over his broad shoulders before her arms wrap around his chest. Her heart beats against his chest during the long kiss. She wants to not just tell, but show Envy all the ways that she loves him so much.

There are so many ways that it's difficult to count. Just like how difficult it is to count the stars.

Now don’t get him wrong, Danny was delighted at the idea of Jordan making a friend, he really was. But the last three attempts had been borderline kidnappings, so he wasn’t entirely sure if he should be. Thankfully it doesn’t seem he’s kidnapped this one. Hopefully. 

Not that he wouldn’t be surprised if Dan managed to kidnap a tiny kryptonian, but the kid- Jon apparently- seemed happy enough to be there. Apparently his grandparents lived in the midwest too, and was happy enough to have someone to talk about it. 

Though um, maybe Danny should have checked to see if his parents knew where he’d gone, because he was not expecting a harried-looking superman to suddenly appear at his window.
