I haven't worked much on the Simon's two mums AU recently, but on this, the day of Simon's birth, I'm sure thinking about the mum's a lot. I've definitely already shared a segment of this scene, but IDGAF. This is the birthday Simon deserved.

"Is that…is that the…" Her eyes swell up with tears, as I pass him to her.

She zeros in on the baby, stroking his face and cooing. The baby is looking back at her with foucsed interest, and my heart pours over with joy. Even the walls of caution and concern I've built up over the past year can't stop it.

My partner. My child. My family.

The baby screws up his whole face and grunts mightily, and we're all three looking down at his precious head, his speckled brow. I reach down to smooth my hand over the down of his head, and then Zadie says. "Oh! Oh, I think he's had a poo."

The Royal Office has released the portraits of Prince Simon and Princess Julie that King Isaac had commissioned as a birthday gift.

November 27th, 1897

Today we celebrate alongside the Royal Family the 23rd birthday of Prince Simon!

The Prince continues to keep himself out of the spotlight, making it difficult to learn more information about him. What we do know is that his marriage to Princess Julie is going splendidly and they are both very excited to be expecting their first child!

With the release of these photos to the public, the Prince does thank the citizens of Urymont and its territories for their well-wishes and concern about his wellbeing, stating

I do greatly appreciate the many letters and inquiries about my health and happiness, thank you. I am quite well, and just knowing that there are so many people concerned certainly makes me feel warm with care.

“Alright, try again.”

Three year old Winnie scratched her little crayon against the paper, her face full of concentration as she followed the guide to write a capital ‘G’. The paper was filled with squiggles that barely resembled the letter, but Simon wasn’t going to let her give up until she got too frustrated.

“How can you do this so nice, Daddy?” Her little voice was full of frustration, her hand let go of the crayon as she looked up to Simon.

He smirked, taking out a green crayon and coloring a section of paper he had been for the last half an hour. “Daddy’s old, duckling. Had a lot of practice.”

“Will I get to be as good as you are?”

He paused, his head moved to look at his daughter as she gazed up with him with mirroring brown eyes. He leaned down and kissed her forehead. “You’ll be better than I’ll ever be. Especially with how kind and clever you are, my duckling.”

Her little head of curls shook as she bounced in her seat, her smile as big as the sun as she chirped, “Thank you for saying that.”

“You’re welcome.” He gently pet her head before he pointed at the Es again. “Alright, can we try another letter for a little while?”
