Scandinavian Things to Watch
Somebody asked me for some recommendations in regards to Swedish and/or Norwegian T.V. shows so I figured I'd scour the internet for every show and movie I've ever seen and compile a list.
Now I will note that half of these I wouldn't really recommend. A thing about Norwegian shows, you'll always end up in one of these genres: Crime-Drama, A show about an awkward person or immigrant family navigating Norwegian culture, or an uneventful slice of life adult/family show and somehow, more often than not, some environmentalism plot line is threaded throughout each genre. I'm very used to fast paced dramas featuring teens so Norwegian series are quite the opposite. This is me admitting that I think most Norwegian shows and movies are so slow and boring. Also I hate Crime-Dramas. With that being said, I do try to get through the first couple of episodes/minutes and can recognize when a show is potentially good but if it requires my full attention to keep up, I'm not finishing it. I can't say if this crosses over into Swedish shows and I'm only just starting to get into Danish shows. Some of these are still on my To Be Seen and I definitely forgot to list others but it's been years since I've seen them so...🤷🏽‍♀️
Where To Watch: Most of these are on Netflix. Some were and are now gone, others have been added once I moved to Sweden. Some are on NRK which I used mostly when I was in Norway. You could get by with a VPN but NRK knows when you're using one and you'll have to restart it every two episodes. Viaplay is a Nordic streaming service that's only like 5 bucks a month, accessible anywhere but again, the selection varies depending on location.
Norwegian Movies:
Blasted (Netflix) TBS - Comedy, Two dudes fight aliens
Royalteen (Netflix) Drama, An average girl gets a prince to fall in love with her. In Royalteen 2, we follow the prince's sister who's working through personal issues.
Thelma (Netflix, Viaplay) TBS GAY - Horror, Something about romance and magic powers?
The Man Who Loved Yngve (Idk) TBS GAY - Drama, Romance
Norwegian Dream (Idk) TBS GAY - Coming of Age, Drama
The Trip (Netflix) TBS - Comedy, An old couple fights to see who can kill each other first instead of just getting a divorce
Troll (Netflix) - Drama, Action? A government team and Archeologist(?) try to stop an old troll from destroying the town
Troll Hunter (Netflix) - "Found Footage" People chase a troll idk
The Wave (Netflix) - Action Drama, People run from a massive wave
Battle (Netflix) - Drama, Featuring Lisa Teige who played Eva in Skam as a ballet dancer battling for the top spot I think, I never finished it.
Disco (NRK) - Drama, Which features Noora's(Skam) actress Josephine Frida Pettersen as a dancer juggling religion and passion.
Det Norske Hus (Netflix) - Comedy, A man crosses the boarder to attend a school that will teach him how to be Norwegian
The Lion Woman (Used to be on Netflix) - Whimsical Drama, A man protects a young hairy girl from being the town freak
The Affair (Viaplay) - Dark Drama, featuring Tarjei Sandvik Moe or Isak from Skam, A student gets dirty with a teacher and then stalks the teacher
Kitchen Stories (Idk) - Comedy? I had to watch this for school. I found it boring but Norwegian people like it. An Anthropologist(?) watches over a Norwegian man to study how Norwegians use kitchens
Norwegian Shows:
SKAM GAY for a season- Come on, you can't be on Tumblr and NOT know this show. This listing includes EVERY remake. Especially the American one (it's on NRK you nords) Every non-American only hates it because our culture is so different from Europe's, its giving xenophobia. Find the shows yourself, it's a rite of passage.
Ligga (Discovery+) TBS GAY- Comedy, featuring Ulrikke Falch, Vilde from Skam, A girl gets dumped and discovers casual sex. To be seen because I think it's only on Discovery Plus in Norway.
Ragnorok (Netflix) GAY for like 2 minutes - Mythology, featuring sexy babes from Skam Magnus, P. Cris, and my gf Sonja. The story of Thor versus the Giants. Fun Fact I actually don't care about this show, mainly this genre of show, but I challenged myself to watch it entirely in Norwegian without subtitles since season one and it's done so I win.
Post Mortem: No One Dies in Skarnes (Netflix) TBS - Dark Comedy, Funeral directors get up to some morally corrupt shenanigans. I got half way through the first episode and gave up.
Øyevitne TBS (Eyewitness U.S. version on the USA Network) GAY- Crime Thriller, I haven't seen the original yet bc I can't find it anywhere. Also I said I didn't like this genre but the Scandis do know how to make 'em. Two boys witness a murder that could solve a massive crime ring but are too scared to come forward bc they don't wanna be outed as ~lovers~ The acting in the American version is a little rough but don't let that stop you! This is the only English speaking show on this list.
Ida Tar Ansvar (Viaplay) - Ironic Comedy? A girl who is just terrified of the real world befriends an Incel in hopes of changing him/saving women. The main actress is also in Royalteen and the main actor is actually Kasper from Skam!
Lillyhammer (Used to be on Netflix) - Crime Comedy, An old American gangster moves to a small part of Lillehammer, Norway to hide and life ensues. This was actually the first Norwegian series I watched post-Skam. There's speaking parts in both Norwegian and English but it's an American show. I still recommend it.
Norsemen (Netflix) - Mockumentary, It kind of feels like a Viking Version of The Office. I've seen a few episodes but the humor is very Norwegian and it didn't stick for me.
Beforeigners (Amazon Prime Video) - Drama, Time travelers from the Viking/Stone Age era end up in Modern day Norway. We follow a Detective Traveler Woman solve crimes. I never finished it bc I forgot it existed lol.
Exit (Viaplay, NRK) - Drama, We follow as a bunch of rich people be absolutely terrible human beings. Tbh, I only got to like episode 3, they're just too long.
The Architect (Viaplay) TBS - Drama, I couldn't tell you shit about this show. I got through the first episode and had no idea what was going on but it's filmed very stylistically and I can see it being enjoyable for someone out there.
Delete Me (Viaplay) TBS - Dark Drama, A sex tape gets out and causes problems for many students at this school. I haven't seen it yet bc the plot doesn't interest me but someone else highly recommended it.
Lik Meg (NRK) - Teen Drama, Two girls' friendship gets tested when they enter the 7th grade. I tried watching this when I was in Norway to fill the Skam void but it's definitely geared towards younger audiences so I didn't get far.
19 (NRK) - Same as above, Each season follows a character of a different age so the title of the show changes too I think. I don't know, here's the Wiki. This show focuses on third culture kids.
Skitten Snø (NRK) TBS - Dark Drama, again featuring our child Tarjei Sandvik Moe as he struggles with friendship but in a creepy way? It's hard to find a good description of this one.
Peppa Gris (NRK) - I literally just watched Peppa Pig in Norwegian for language learning purposes. That, Shrek(DVD), Frozen(Illegally) and also Vivo(Netflix).
Klassen (NRK) - Teen Drama, again really geared towards younger audiences. It's a very Disney-like show. I never finished it.
Pørni [or Pernille] (NRK, Netflix, Viaplay) GAY for like 2 minutes - Family Drama/Comedy following a social worker and mother navigating life after her sisters death, her father coming out, and her kids getting older. The characters are all genuinely funny in an endearing way to watch, and it shows genuine/sweet love between older people.
Swedish Movies: (I haven't seen these but they look good)
Black Crab (Netflix) TBS - Dark Drama, A solider has to cross a frozen sea with precious cargo to stop an apocalyptic war.
Låt Den Rätte Komma In (It's online free somewhere & on Swedish Netflix) TBS (Let Me In U.S. version) - Thriller, Something about a vampiric killer kid. I really like the American version so I wanna give the OG a shot.
A Man Called Ove (Netflix, Viaplay) TBS - Drama Comedy, A grumpy old man is mean to his neighbors after the death of his wife, he learns how to enjoy life again, I think.
JJ+E (Netflix) TBS - Teen Drama/Romance, A third culture boy and a Swedish girl fall in love. Will they make it?
Kyss Mig (Viaplay, Used to be on Netflix) TBS GAY - Drama, A young woman who is engaged begins an affair with her future stepmother's lesbian daughter (Can we consider that incest?).
Swedish Shows:
Sjukt (NRK) - Drama Comedy, Loosely based on the life of Young Royals Creator, Lisa Ambjörn. A young women finds a new lease on life after beating Ovarian Cancer. I enjoyed half of it but would rather finish it on a site that isn't NRK.
Young Royals (Netflix) - Teen Drama, beautiful amazing talented show stopping never been done before... A young prince gets sent to a boarding school to tighten up his act when jealousy causes things to fall apart all around him. Obviously recommend.
Gåsmamman (Amazon Prime Video) - Crime Drama, Featuring Young Royals star, Edvin Ryding, as one of the sons to a widowed mother caught up in a crime ring left by her husband. Turns out it goes deeper than what she was expecting. Brace yourself for this intense 6 season, 46 episode long show.
Kontoret (Swedish version of The Office) TBS - Exactly what it sounds like. I haven't bothered to look into it further but it could be fun to see the cultural differences and Swedish nuances.
Quicksand (Netflix) - Dark Drama, also a good one, After a school shooting we follow a girl who was somehow involved. As the plot unravels we find out exactly how. Features Felix Sandman if you're a fan of him.
One More Time (Netflix) TBS - Comedy, I literally just added this to my list. It's "17 Again" mixed with Disney's "16 Wishes."
Thunder in my Heart (Viaplay) TBS - Coming of Age/Family Drama. A lot of these Swedish shows on Viaplay don't have English subtitles so, dead end.
Älska mig (Viaplay) TBS - Drama/Romance, Familiar faces: Edvin Ryding of Young Royals/Gåsmamman! Little stories about people finding and navigating romance.
Ej Kjem (NRK) - Scandalous Drama, A show about a girl navigating life and SEXuality. I couldn't get far with it because it's only in Swedish with NYNORSK subtitles??
Clark (Netflix) TBS - Biography/Comedy? Bill Skarsgård! The unbelievable story of Clark Olofsson, the man who inspired the phrase "Stockholm Syndrome."
Danish Movies:
The Bombardment (Netflix) TBS - Wartime Drama, Based on true events, a WWII bomb hits a school in Copenhagen. (Also if you didn't know, there was A LOT happening with Sweden, Norway, and Denmark during WWII and so there are TONS of good Scandinavian movies set during then. I didn't list them because I'm just not that big a fan of the genre but the history's crazy.)
Danish Shows:
Seaside Hotel (Viaplay) GAY for like 2 seconds but idk if more happens I'm still watching - Drama, set some time in the 1920s. Various kooky guests check into this hotel every summer and life happens, drama unfolds. I was just starting to really get into it but for some reason Viaplay in Sweden doesn't have it 😡.
The Rain (Netflix) - Survival Drama, Toxic rain falls from the sky wiping out almost all humanity. One boy is the cure. Does he save and restore all humankind? I don't know I never finished it. This was when the survival genre was at an all time high. It's a good show but I just couldn't take it anymore.
Rita (Netflix) - Drama Comedy, Rita is an independent girl boss mother who has funny relationships with everyone around her. It's been years since I've seen it but it was pretty popular to the Danes.
Elves (Netflix) TBS - Horror Drama, It's evil elves at Christmas time. I haven't seen it yet but it doesn't look like it's gotten good reviews.
The Chestnut Man (Netflix) TBS - Crime Drama, A creepy chestnut toy links together murders and might be the answer to a politician's missing child.
One of the Boys (Viaplay) GAY - Coming of Age, short drama series. A boy gets sent on this "How to be a man" retreat and flips between changing himself to fit in and accepting his oddball self with this other outsider who is "totally not gay" but I literally don't believe that and it's total queer baiting but there's a kiss scene and it's such a short and easy watch that why not give a chance.
And finally: @notachair asked for this so here you go :)

2023 wrapped: kdrama edition!
taking a page from @dangermousie, here's a list of all the kdramas ive watched this year, in order from least liked to most liked! because i dont have a spotify wrap-up to share :'D
cdrama one here!
and i'll do a webtoon one too /o/
overall i didnt watch too many kdramas this year, and finished less. kind of a "meh" kdrama year for me overall (with 1-2 exceptions). with that in mind, full disclosure that i didnt love a ton of what i watched this year in kdramaland:
we barely knew ye: ones i dropped only a few eps in
sweet home 2. dropped after ep 2. direction it went in is v much not my thing, my fave surviving characters were either killed off or put on the bench, and im not that motivated to see what happens next. might jump back into the franchise if word-of-mouth on s3 is good, we'll see
moon in the day. first ep was actually great and i enjoyed it a lot!! but im not doing cancer storylines rn so that killed momentum. may try this one again later
king the land. watched the first ep. simply did not vibe.
death's game. ditto ^
black knight. i LOVE a good dystopian scifi. this was not that. i was really bored after the first ep and didnt bother with the rest
my dearest. i watched the first ep and liked it, but just wasnt in the mood/wasn't immediately hooked. i'm going to give this one another try when i hit the Angsty Sageuk craving again
dramas i watched at least half of
6. twinkling watermelon.
it's pretty wild to put what i believe is the current #1 show on mydramalist as my bottom pick for the year, especially since it's written by my favorite screenwriter, but here we are. this one is far from objectively the worst drama but it's here because it made me the most mad!! the female lead and second male leads were both off-putting and selfish to me, and the whole drama i was actively rooting for ryeoun's earnest and endearing male lead and shin eun soo's underwritten second female lead to escape and have mother/son adventures on their own away from the rest of everyone else
5. arthdal chronicles: sword of aramun.
sigh. i was a big believer/supporter of this season, even with all of the recasts. but despite a few moments of brilliance, it was overall a slog to watch and just kind of joyless. too much time spent on the ago tribe, too many nonsensical victories and deus ex machina coincidences, and the bag was very much fumbled with some of the characters (particularly saya, who was to me the most interesting character in s1 and you KNOW ljk could have rocked that ruthlessness). positive standouts were kim ok bin flawlessly scene-chewing as taealha and lee joon ki working what he was dealt
4. worst of evil.
adored this drama for the first 2/3rds! it was gritty, neo-noir that reminded me a lot of the old school hong kong crime films like infernal affairs. lots of style, great acting, messy and flawed characters. but the last arc/ending was a boring dud for me. still very much enjoyed the ride up to that point though!
3. perfect marriage revenge.
so! much!! fun!!! just. full commitment to making a show as gloriously makjang/soap operay as it could get and it was a blast watching because of it. made on pocket lint for a budget but it rocked what it had and a special shoutout to lee min young's absolutely fantastically camp evil stepmother. the excitement died down a little toward the end, but still a good time overall
2. the glory, part 2.
a satisfying ending to a really excellent first half. love that the female lead just got to execute revenge and there was no moral or sanctimonious hangups about it. enjoyed the way the ending was set up as "the adventure continues," and all in all this was a really solid and enjoyable dark drama! only thing that was kind of a bummer is that the time split between airing the first and second halves killed the momentum a little, but that's entirely netflix fuckery and not the fault of the show
moving
hands-down the best kdrama i watched this year, and possibly my favorite kdrama ever. i didnt plan to watch this one because im sick of superhero everything, but the cast got me wanting to at least try it and omg im glad i did. great acting from literally everyone, wild action scenes, and just beautiful characters and dynamics across every level. the family narratives are so, so good and the whole show is expertly grounded in the concept of planting seeds so your children can see flowers. please give this one a try if you're on the fence about it!
2023 kdramas that i plan to watch (but didnt get to yet!)
my lovely liar
a good day to be a dog
my perfect stranger
revenant
mask girl
bloodhounds
my demon
AWARDS
Favorite ship: juwon and jihee from moving absolutely destroyed me in the like 3 eps they were in, so they win this one. he's a gangster who gets the shit kicked out of him for a living and loves stories with happy endings. she's a weary but always brave sex worker (coded, but still) who decides to trust a lonely man crying in the street. i never thought a motion-sensor light could wreck me the way theirs did. "you have worth to me, and i have worth to you."
Favorite FL: song hye kyo's dong eun in the glory just barely edges out han hyo joo's mihyun in moving. song hye kyo needs to play, like, all the villains and anti-heroes ASAP because that's been the most fun ive had watching her. she took on a dark character and rocked it
Favorite ML: juwon from moving, definitely. to quote my older post:
Moving really said hi this is Juwon. he has scars from gunshots all down his arm. he opened a chicken restaurant. he’s a gangster. he loves pro wrestling because the good guys win. he tried to rip out his own galbladder to prove a point. he’s a proud girl dad. he is unkillable. he stands in the street and cries.
Favorite 2FL: lee min young's incredible, over the top, villainous camp queen lee jung hye from perfect marriage revenge was just so much fun to watch and she ate every single scene she was in. 10/10 would watch her throw lawn chairs in a ballgown all day
Favorite 2ML: i would die for bongseok from moving. precious sunshine child who deserves only the best
Best Cast: im a broken record, but moving. so many characters with such great depth given to them and this was truly an ensemble show A+++
Best WTF: yura eating her paternity results in perfect marriage revenge!!

Full disclaimer, I'm a monolingual American from a privileged background (though I suspect that much would be pretty obvious frim reading).
I think part of the reason Americans always act like everything should be translated not just to English, but to American English is because up until very recently, almost everything WAS "translated" for us.
We Americans are so babied about language & culture, it's embarrassing. The Harry Potter books had to be "translated" because apparently we couldn't be trusted to figure out that a jumper was a sweater. I heard about an author of a true crime book just last year complaining about how "mum" had to be changed to "mom" for US release.
Then there's the American idea of exceptionalism which shows up not just as "we're the best, why would you want anything else?" but also as "wow, how weird are you for liking something that's FOREIGN?" At least when I was growing up, if you watched or read stuff in any other European language you're a snob. If you like anything from Asia you're a weirdo. (Of course, during my formative years, I was implicitly taught that Africa and South America did not produce any media worth consuming. If they had, clearly it would have been on TV because American TV had the best of everything /sarcasm)
Like when I got into anime in the 90s, Sailor Moon episode sequences had to be mirrored so american kids wouldn't get confused about the cars driving on the wrong side of the road, half the characters in anime were constantly eating "jelly donuts" because we apparently had no chance of comprehending rice balls. I was freaking astounded when Netflix started hosting K dramas with only subtitles, no dubs. Just the other week I was watching an anime that actually kept the honorifics in the dubbed version and my jaw dropped because I remember my friends and I (pre-speedy internet) trying to parse mysterious words like "chan" and "kun." My well educated and generally liberal father reacted to my announcement that I was going to study Japanese in college (10 years ago) by listing the war crimes committed by Japan in WW2 (tell me you have a white American dad without telling me you have a white American dad 🙄).
It's also the way foreign languages are taught in US schools. Not just the fact that we start late, but that it's rarely viewed as a priority. I distinctly remember thinking "why am I learning French? Even if I ever go to France I'm only gonna visit for like a week, definitely not enough to need a whole language." There was almost no effort made to explain that 1) there are other countries that speak French, 2) there are people IN THE US who speak French as a first language and 3) you'll have a much better time overseas if you don't come off as a dumb American tourist. Culture being tied to language was never addressed at all. And I went to a well funded private high school where half the teachers held PhDs with language teachers were native speakers. (Actually I think it was one of my French teachers who explained that we 15 year olds were too old to really learn a language successfully, so that's awesome)
Do not get me wrong, this is not an excuse for Americans being, ya know, American about language and cultural literacy. But this is not an easy mentality to shake and pointing it out to a lot of your fellow Americans will get you a rant about how ungrateful you are for "attacking" the best country in the world. Sometimes I look back on the kind of cultural censorship that is so damn prevalent even now and it gives me a headache because this whole country feels like a cult sometimes. I wish I could have studied language earlier in life, I wish I would have seen it as more than just a graduation requirement, and I wish I had the time to prioritize it now, but I didn't and I can't.

I haven't the faintest clue who these people from the Chinese drama(?) are from but your posts allowed me to identify it when a grown as woman with her half grown ass kid came into my job and there were pins of them on her bag.
listen. listen it's like a sickness. i KNEW it drove people insane but then i got into it and then it drove ME insane. the author, MXTX, put some sort of drug into that book that makes people insane and i have been snorting every version of it. i cannot get enough. this is why you will now see it everywhere. you see a white bunny and a black bunny next to each other? that's wangxian. you'll SEE it now because it's everywhere. it's the ship behind that fic that broke ao3 and i get why now.
gusu lan's hottest club has EVERYTHING - an extremely intricate plot full of mysteries, the best main couple that invented Romance, some really interesting things to say about morality, two incredibly toxic and tragic polycules, the sexualization of headbands (just roll with it), tragedy literally everywhere but a happy ending at least for the main couple, some female characters that truly slay, 4 teens up to shenanigans with a friendly zombie, drunk gay bitches committing petty crimes, scenes that'll make you cry and then cry laughing, a confession scene that is literally the funniest thing i've ever read, a censored wedding in a blood pool....shit has IT ALL!!!!!!!
(it is called MDZS/Mo Dao Zu Shi and it is a serialized Chinese webnovel that has been adapted into many formats, the most famous being the live action the Untamed which is on Netflix and takes some, obviously censored, liberties with the original story but still bangs in its own right. i was told you should start by read the book, the official translation title is Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation, which is 5 volumes and I read it from my library. I think the 5th volume isn't technically out yet so I switched to the fan translation someone sent me for the end. then there's the manhua/the comic, same english title, the official english translation is coming but isn't out yet, and is mostly uncensored except the explicit scenes, which the artist posted separately on twitter lol. then there's the donghua/the animated series, translated as Founder of Diabolism, which is currently my favorite adaptation of the original, i had to 🏴‍☠️ this one. it has a spinoff chibi shorts series that is also adorable called Founder of Diabolism Q. then there's the audio drama which apparently has all kinds of extra content that i gotta listen to. anyway. JOIN me in hell!)

Happy Birthday Stephen "Dougray" Scott born on November 25th 1965.
In my opinion Dougray is one of the most underrated Scottish  actors, with his broad Scottish brogue he oozes Scottishness whenever he speaks in his native tongue.
After attending Auchmuty High School in Fife trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama where he was named most promising drama student and took the his stage name from his grandmother's surname, "Dougray
Scott's early work was in Scottish national theatre and television, first appearing in the series Soldier Soldier as well as on the stage in the Tim Fleming directed production of Wallace. Early television credits to follow included The Rover, Taggart: Nest of Vipers, Lovejoy, and Soldier Soldier. Scott followed this up with impactful turns in the films You Don't Have to Say You Love Me, Black Beauty, and Another Nine & a Half Weeks. Shortly thereafter, Scott could be seen opposite Drew Barrymore in the hit film Ever After, opposite Robert Duvall, Tea Leoni, and Vanessa Redgrave in the film Deep Impact, as well as the second installment in the hit Mission: Impossible franchise, Mission: Impossible 2.
He also starred in a film I mentioned the other day, alongside Dougie Henshall, This Years Love, look out for it, it is very funny and full of Scots, but set in London.
Scott also appeared opposite Kate Winslet in Michael Apted's Enigma as well as the 2002 film Ripley's Game, opposite Ray Winstone. Starring opposite Jennifer Connelly in the 2005 film Dark Water and the 2007 film Hit Man, Scott soon appeared in US television for the first time in the ABC miniseries The Ten Commandments as well the Hallmark TV movie Arabian Nights.
Other film roles have included the hit film Ever After, opposite Drew Barrymore Then with Robert Duvall, Tea Leoni, and Vanessa Redgrave in the film Deep Impact, as well as the second instalment in the hit Mission: Impossible franchise, Mission Impossible 2. Scott also appeared opposite Kate Winslet in Michael Apted’s Enigma as well as the 2002 film Ripley’s Game, opposite Ray Winstone. In 2006 Dougray  appeared in US television for the first time in the ABC miniseries The Ten Commandments as well the Hallmark TV movie Arabian Nights. US television audiences next saw Scott in the NBC series Heist as well as the hit series Desperate Housewives. He followed these impressive turns with the BBC miniseries adaptation of the cult classic novel The Day of the Triffids .
He was also been seen in the critically-acclaimed movie My Week With Marilyn, the hit Netflix series Hemlock Grove, and the Cinemax series Strike Back. On this side of the Atlantic, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde was great as well as another film was New Town Killers, set in Edinburgh, and in an episode of Dr Who with Matt Smith. He was also in the TV series, Snatch, based on the film of the same name.
During the last few years  playing  Colonel Jacob Kane in the series Batwoman. The series was cancelled after 3 seasons.  He has also appeared in La Cha Chis a dark comedy which also stars the excellent Rhys Ifans, it was written and filmed in South Wales in four weeks over the coronavirus lockdown.
At present you can find Dougray in the Irvine Welsh series Crime, where he platys troubled detective DI Ray Lennox. I’m really looking forward to the second installment, which will see the excellent English actor John Simm join the cast.
In the second season Ray is ready to return to the fray at Edinburgh Serious Crimes, keen to prove he is fully recovered from his breakdown, I’ll say no more in case you haven’t watched series one, please go do it! Dougray has one a Scottish Bafta for his portrayal and just this weekend in the 50th International Emmy Awards was also awarded Best Performance by an Actor.   Vigil, set in Scotland won the Best Drama Series
In a post on social media, Welsh congratulated the Hollywood star, who he claims “battled for years” to play the lead role in Crime.
Dougray will also be in the Sky series  A Town Called Malice about a  family of petty thieves from South London who decamp to Spain to profit from an unexpected windfall. I’m also looking forward to the film, Irena's Vow telling the true story of Polish nurse Irene Gut Opdyke, who was  awarded the Righteous Among the Nations medal for showing remarkable courage in her attempt to save Polish Jews during World War II. The film is based on the Broadway play of the same name. It is set to premiere next year.

Hey Anna (pretty name btw!) this question is pretty random haha and not Top Gun related or anything like that.
I was wondering if you have any Disney +/Netflix recommendations? It can shows or movies ur choice! I’m always wanna find something to watch on those streaming platforms but sometimes I can be little picky yk lol
Hello hello, JJ!
And of course, my ask is open for more than just Top Guns and fics 😅 and ahhh I super know what you mean! That was me up until a few years ago, so I started a yearly watchlist so I can see what I’ve watched already and it also encourages me to explore new media. I hope I don’t overwhelm you with this since I can get pretty overboard with recommendations! I hope you find something to enjoy 😊
(And if anyone else reads this, feel free to leave some more recommendations in the comments or reblogs 💗)
Notes: I’m not entirely sure if we have the same Netflix selections/titles, and if some of these are still even available on there (not all of these are Netflix originals) so you may have to check what’s available for you! And since there are quite a number of titles below the cut, I also encourage you to do some research on the titles that pique your interest, just in case you may need some context or warning before deciding if you want to watch them!

TAG NINE PEOPLE YOU WANT TO GET TO KNOW BETTER
I was tagged by @rainbowcolored7 Thank you so much honey!! I am so sorry that this is late, life has been hectic but I’ll try not to disappoint!
Okay, so, I’ll do my best to keep this away from being a haphazard mess as best as I can, but I might fail because these questions are hard😭😭Anyway, lets go!
Favourite Colour: Baby yellow and bright yellow, basically most yellows but not the greeny ones or the dark mustard coloured yellows. Blush pinks, burgundy and plum purple.
Currently Reading: Right this moment, KinnPorsche the novel, though it’s a ride and a half and I have to keep taking a breather and I’m not even a quarter of the way through 😭 It’s gonna take me ages! Fanfictions... there are so damn many, my phone hates how many tabs I have open. There’s a mixture of KinnPorsche fanfics and Bungou Stray Dogs fanfics. To name a few KinnPorsche fanfics, there is On The Clock By Serena_Writes and it is so fucking good, I’m honestly hooked! Dropping a baby off at a mafia compound is a good idea, right? By lalala53 on Ao3 or @lesbianiconsteveharrington here on tumblr. It’s a one shot, but my god it is so fucking cute!! It’s just *chef’s kiss* Adorbs! Definitely would recommend! The Modern Way by TheObsoleteOne. This one is just fucking adorable in all aspects! If you want KinnPorsche with cavity inducing fluffiness and heart flutters caused by warm, comforting domesticity, then this is the fic for you! It’s the cutest shit ever! And another great fanfic, which has also got me hooked on the edge of my seat like what’s gonna happen next?, Somewhere I Belong by Jamaican Princess (Rocquellan). There are so many more but I’d be here all day, but these ones I would definitely give them a read as they are so amazing!
As for an actual original book, I’m currently reading Outlander by Diana Gabaldon, Bungou Stray Dogs novel 55 Minutes by Kafka Asagiri, Trying by Emily Phillips, Child of Fortune by Yuko Tsushima and No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai.
Last Song: Oh damn, where the hell do I start?! I know I’ve been listening to CIRCUS, Christmas EveL and Maniac by Stray Kids on a loop, as well as their other songs, I’m a Stay and I love these babies so much! LALISA by LISA. Mirror Mirror by MILLI, Feat. F.Hero and Changbin from Stray Kids (I mean I loved this song before the KP World Tour, but Us has got me hooked on it even more so I blame him). SG by Dj Snake, Megan Thee Stallion, LISA and Ozuna (was addicted to this song as soon as I saw the video of Bible rolling his hips to it so thank you KP world tour, eternally grateful☺️) Another song I’m hooked on right now is PIECES by Elley Duhé, this song for multiple reasons. More artists I’ve been listening to are Bebe Rexha (I’ve loved Bebe for so damn long), ITZY and DREAMCATCHER.
Last Series: The last series I watched was KinnPorsche (though I can’t stop watching it, it’s the love of my life and I have separation anxiety and KinnPorsche withdrawal symptoms). But before that, I watched Vincenzo; So freaking good!! Definitely would recommend! There’s a nice balance of mystery, comedy, crime, drama and mafia too, it is honestly such a good series. And then All Of Us Are Dead; Now this show, holy fuck, it was so good I watched it again straight after finishing it, it’s THAT good!! Again, would definitely recommend! Both Vincenzo and All Of Us Are Dead are on Netflix.
Last Movie: I honestly cannot remember the last movie I watched, I’ve just been watching series so I can’t remember off of the top of my head but I think it might have been Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness which was excellent! Definitely would recommend this to anyone who is interested.
Currently working on: Okay, I don’t know if this counts but I’m in the process of writing a few KinnPorsche metas (I hope they’ll be metas and not just messes) and they’re currently glaring at me from my tumblr drafts, waiting for me to finish them, which I will eventually get around to, but that’s what I’m in the process of working on right now.
I am going to tag @lutawolf @markswifesblog @isolatedkiller @iffervescent @biochemjess @lobsterjimsourcream @accal1a @yeahmileapo @percyjacksonlover-15 @maleficent-cannoli @luckydragon10 @00vi I just realised that that isn’t nine but it’s fine, and I’m sorry if I’m tagging someone who has been already been tagged and if they’ve already done this. If you have, then don’t worry about it. I could have honestly been here all day answering these questions but that would go on and on so I made it as short as I could. Thank you again @rainbowcolored7 for tagging me, you’re such a sweetheart! 🥰🥰💖💖💖

Inside Man (2022)
[ Western / Crime Drama ]
Where to watch: Netflix
Rating: 7/10
Tumblr media
I dug this review out of my drafts. I can’t believe I didn’t post this. I’m a sucker for crime shows, so I was excited to watch this. One of my most nostalgic and favorite shows is actually Sherlock Holmes. In short, this show was about a criminologist (Stanley Tucci-great actor) on death row. Cases come to him, kind of like Sherlock Holmes, and he solves the cases. Simple concept, good shit.
Crime shows with a twist are a forever favorite. Solving cases because they’re just a genius is kind of not realistic, but I loved the parts when he explained his logic towards cases. The unraveling will always be satisfactory to me.
Interesting concept. I liked how he was an inmate. He’s actually an inmate because he murdered someone. Ironic how the genius criminologist busts people and just puts them in the same prison as him.
Fast paced. Need I say more. One case per episode and one big, overall case that goes on throughout all the episodes. Everything is solved by the end.
Stanley Tucci. I love Stanley Tucci. He’s a great actor. I’m willing to bet that most of the hype around this series is purely because of him.
As for some cons of this movie…
It felt like only half of the series was released. Why did the criminologist commit murder? What happened? Also, what happens with the cases he took on? He solves them, busts the people, then you never see what happens next. They just move on. I wish there was more explanation behind things, but maybe they did that on purpose. Now I have to figure out why they did it on purpose though hmmm
Like I mentioned in the first pro, it’s kind of unrealistic. It’s fascinating how he solves all the cases from behind bars, but he solves everything fairly quickly. He always gets the right answer. Why did a person disappear? Ah yes, it’s because of this obscure small thing that ends up being the actual reason. I wish they explained it or showed what happened more. Help the audience realize why other instances wouldn’t work.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Overall,
<Inside Man> was a fun, casual, quick watch that I wish had a little more of everything. I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would. It’s easily binge-able, and for a series that moves so fast, it’s easy to keep up with. From a rating view though, I do think that the series could have been way better. I think this series had plenty of untouched potential to go above and beyond. But it seems like it’ll be a one time, short thing so cry. It resolved the main overarching dilemma though, so unless there’s a new dilemma, there isn’t a need for another season cry. I’m sure making a long series is expensive and time consuming, but I can still hope! Stanley Tucci definitely did a great job!

Elite is so bingable it’s kinda gossip girl but with murder. It’s a Spanish Netflix show that I’m watching dubbed in English and it’s awesome I can’t put it down. Every season there is a crime that starts the season and then from there you get flashes of what took place that night throughout the 8 episode season. I wish there was more episodes per season. This season is the mystery of what happened to Ari to put her in a coma and to have lost some of her memory when she wakes to couple drama. This one guy named Anders had cancer and his boyfriend Omar took care of him everyday they love each other, they live together, and Anders just broke up with Omar and maybe at most a day and a half later he’s having sex with my favorite character Patrick. These two other guys are have a dick measuring contest to see which one is more deserving of Ari.
Patrick is my favorite character, he is mischievous and knows what he wants and doesn’t stop until he gets it. He is very sexual and hot. He’s had a threesome, broke up a relationship, slept with both people in that relationship while they were still in that relationship and now slept with the person in that relationship right after they called it quits. Patrick has two sisters a twin named Ari and a younger sister named Mencia. There was an car accident when he was younger that killed his mom instantly and he was bedridden for two years. They’ve only mentioned what happen but I hope they show us a flashback and I think in the Patrick special they do show us what happened. Their father Benjamin is a douche I understand his wife died leaving him with three children but he doesn’t even seem to love his children. Mencia turns to prostitution to raise enough money to move out. From what they’ve shown it doesn’t look like he and Patrick have a relationship, the only one he depends on and asks to do stuff is Ari. The one fatherly moment I saw between Benjamin and Patrick was when they were at the hospital and Ari was in the coma. Patrick put his head against the glass and Benjamin asked him if he was ok. Next season Patrick finds love but it’s complicated excited for that.
Prince Phillip I don’t know how I feel about him. He likes a girl the girl likes him they flirt they have fun together and when they have sex he records it without her knowledge and when she finds out he tells it security reasons I was once accused of something now I record all my interactions. He tries to make it up to her by buying out a restaurant and being her server instead of her cleaning up after people as a janitor she is being waited on by him. They were gaining their trust of each other back and she googled what he was accused of and there were zero articles about it. She got caught on his laptop and the trust is now broken again. Their problems aside they are a cute couple they love fashion and he doesn’t care that she is janitor when she found out that he was coming to the school she was thrilled and excited to meet him. I know this sounds like a older younger woman young man but they are close in age.
I didn’t talk about everyone in the show but these are ones I’m watching it for. I love this show.

Patrick and Ivan from elite are cute together. Ivan annoys me sometimes but other then that they are cute together. Every scene they are in you can see Patrick is head over heels in love with Ivan and it’s adorable.
Tumblr media
The other part of me the shipper in me and maybe because Ivan does annoy me sometimes. I wish and love Patrick and Phillipe I wish they were a couple or had more scenes together.

After seeing @that-bi-multifandom-mess posts of magneto family that are awesome I love them. I was inspired and came up with a magneto family idea:
Wanda is looking for Billy and Tommy and stumbles into the x men universe. Magneto finds her and brings her to his mutant refugee home. Wanda let’s it slip that her last name is maximoff and Erik already knows Peter maximoff is his son. So another maximoff would be his daughter and her children would be his grandchildren. When they go to Charles to use cerebro to find Billy and Tommy they also find Lorna who is currently imprisoned in a glass cell. Wanda goes to get Lorna, Erik goes to get Peter and then the family reunited go to get Billy and Tommy.

My #1 post of 2022
After watching fate season 2 and loving riven and Musa. Plus last night I watched overdrive which has the actor who plays Riven in it. He was my favorite part of the movie. I came up with this one shot. For my rivusa sister @misssophiachase
Tumblr media
Riven ducks as Musa’ Bo staff tries to hit him. They are sparring with each other and have been for the past nine months. As she spins the staff around her he grabs it and holds it behind his back. Riven jumps and spins as she tries to lunge at him. He tries to kick her and she jumps back unfortunately she didn’t realize how close she was to the edge and almost falls into the water. Riven catches her their hands holding on each other’s wrists. As he pulls her back onto the mat they stay connected their eyes never leaving each other’s. His thumb starts to brush over her wrist. She smiles up at him. His eyes go to her lips. “The suite is empty.”
The suite doors open and they stumble inside. Their lips connects hands frantically removing pieces of their training gear. His vest falls to the ground along with her puffer cropped vest.
Riven is walking backwards as they continue to kiss to her bedroom. He does fall into a chair bringing her down with him. “The great specialist can’t avoid a chair?”
“Shut up pixie.” He reaches up to continue kissing her but she leans back. “We don’t know when they will be back, do you really want to add fuel to Terra’s hatred of you finding us in the living room.”
Musa gets up and starts walking to her bedroom but Riven picks her up from behind she can’t help it and lets out a squeal. When she is with Riven she is not overwhelmed with emotions or feelings. He quiets them and brings her out of her head. He is the only one at this school who really sees her and was really there when she lost her magic. Everyone else tried to immediately get her powers back. He listened to her.
As soon as he puts her down in the middle of the room, it’s a race to get their clothes off. They don’t know how much time they have so they will use every moment of it. It’s only after their clothes are off do either of them remember that she still has the power dampening bracelets on. He looks down at them then up at her and she nods. He picks her up by the thighs and she wraps her legs around his waist her arms going around his neck, she leans down and kisses him. For other fairies these bracelets are painful and humiliating but for Musa they are a gift. She doesn’t have to feel everything she can be in the moment. Riven knows how much she struggled with her powers and even after they came back he noticed she was not happy they were back and was having a hard time. So when he gave her the bracelets so she could focus on the fighting part then on the fairy part. She is so much more then just a fairy is also a specialist in training.
Since they starting sneaking around sparring has become their foreplay so any touch on the field is just hyping them up even more. Finding an area is not easy the suite is usually filled, and the few times it wasn’t Terra almost caught them luckily they heard the door and Musa could feel her emotions and Riven was shoved in the closet just as Terra came in unfortunately she complained about Riven and how he is a terrible person and she does not get how someone like Flora could be friends with him. Or why she has found Musa sparring with him. Musa didn’t need to be an empath to feel the annoyance vibes in that room she put a hand on the closet door keeping it closed. She defended him telling Terra that he is not a terrible person and that she knows he is capable of a lot she can feel it. Sky walked in on them a couple times when they were in his and Riven’s room. Sky didn’t pay them any attention and just came into grab something. They tried different places in the school but Musa could still feel people plus it was very dirty and damp.
Musa moans as she can feel Riven inside she doesn’t need the bracelets to know he feels calm and happy. The smile on his face and the glint in his eye says it all as he slides his fingers through her hair as he thrusts into his little fairy specialist.
Musa is different, Riven has always been this cocky dick but around Musa he finds himself smiling and being more open. That day Musa got stuck in the track thanks to Terra. He could of and was supposed to run with the rest of the specialists. Instead he sat down next to her and made sure their bags were in front of Musa’s legs so nobody saw anything. He choose to sit with her instead of training. The night they went to rescue Beatrix his only concern was Musa. He didn’t want her to get hurt, when he realized that she was still inside he was worried she put her trust in him coming with them and he wasn’t going to let her down by not making sure she got out too. By the time he got outside with Musa everyone had already left. He walked her blooded weak body back during the whole walk back he kept making sure she was breathing and had a pulse it weak from the blood loss. By the time he got back to the school his legs were shaking he was so worried about her.
Riven grunts when he feels her lips on his neck and and the little nibble on his ear. His fingers grip her hair gently but still a little rough and he feels her body mold to his as her nails scrap down his back resulting in him arching his back. He leans down and kisses her. Her lips part and their tongues start to battle. Musa puts a hand on his chest and looks towards the door she thought she heard something. It was nothing. Her fingers wrap around his neck bringing his head down to kiss him. She bites his lower lip and swallows the groan he makes.
They were pent up from training but also it’s tough for them to find time alone. They found a release quickly he leaves a kiss on her neck right below her ear. Riven flips them and wraps his arms around Musa laying on his smooth chest. Musa leaves a kiss on his neck.
The secret they share of how Musa gave her powers up that night created this intimate bond with them. That developed into a friendship. Even after she got her powers back they were friends and continued to hang out. They took it further becoming a couple they get each other on a different level. Not only do they train together but he does try to help her with her powers. A couple weeks after she got them back she tried to block everyone out and focus on him it wasn’t a success. She helps him too with her he feels less alone. Besides Sky he can only rely on Musa she hasn’t betrayed him like everyone else has.
Musa gets off him and grabs his long sleeve hooded shirt he wears to train. He watches as she puts it on. “I’m going to need that back. Silva is picky about the specialist dress code.”
She chuckles as she bends down and pecks him on the lips,”Then I should go grab your vest in the main room.” He chuckles as he stretches and rolls onto his back looking up at the ceiling.
Musa picks up both vests and as she is going back to her room Terra and Stella come through the door. They both look the mind fairy up and down Stella raises an eyebrow but doesn’t say anything just goes to her room. Terra on the other hand questions it. “What are you wearing?”
She looks down at Riven’s shirt on her she doesn’t have pants on either she did put a black bra and panties on. “Silva finally gave me a specialist uniform it’s a little big I’ll have to ask him for a new one.”
Terra starts heading to her and Musa’s room but Musa says loudly. “Terra! Flora wanted to show you something I think she’s in her room.”
One last glance at her roommate Terra heads to Flora and Stellas’s room. Musa rushes to her room and finds Riven standing near the closet with only his pants and shoes on. Musa taking his shirt off throwing it at him as she goes over to the window and opens it. “You have got to be kidding me.”
As she pulls on a pair of leggings she tells him. “Do you want to explain this to Terra when she sees you leaving. I know I don’t want to hear or feel the disgust that you have been in her room she doesn’t even like you in the greenhouse or talking to her friends let alone dating one.”
Riven rolls his eyes and shakes his head this is ridiculous Terra’s hatred of him is interfering with his relationship. He doesn’t like her either but still he would rather walk out the front door instead of scaling the side of the building to get down. He gets half out of the window and looks back at Musa who is watching the door. “Come here.”
Musa goes over to him and he pulls her closer to him and cups her cheek as he leaves one last kiss on her lips she deepens the kiss putting her arms around his neck pulling him closer making him chuckle in the kiss.
The sound of the doorknob interrupts them and he quickly tells her. “My room next time.” Then he’s gone. Terra comes in and notices the window open, Musa smiling and touching her lips, but she also sees the bracelets on Musa’s arms.
“Oh my god Musa Riven is making you wear those bracelet, he is a terrible person why do you even train with him?”
Musa grabs a sweatshirt putting it on. “Riven is not making me do anything, he’s not as terrible as you make him out to be. Silva wants me to wear these during training so I don’t have an unfair advantage against my partner.” Which is a lie Musa wanted to wear them Riven got them for her but it was her idea.
Before Terra can voice another option Musa says. “I’m going to go train.”
When she left the suite she was going to walk around but she found herself at the wall outside her room. “Wow your slow should you really be teaching me to be a specialist. No offense.”
He jumps down off the wall and towers over her. He leans down to tell her. “ I’m sure no other specialist will give you the same special treatment you require no offense.”
She laughs and pushes his shoulder. He adds. “Plus there was no urgency to climbing down that wall, now if I was climbing up the wall…”Riven raises his eyebrows teasingly she looks impressed and raises an eyebrow.

Saving the Buffalo Bills Season by Not Saving Ken Dorsey’s Job
Ken Dorsey getting fired is the first nice call made involving him.  Naturally, it wasn’t his decision.  The closest the Bills have recently gotten to a win involved realizing they weren’t playing right.  Wondering whether they would either suffer a hangover or dodge one they deserve isn’t thrilling tension.  It’s almost a relief they found unbelievable ways to lose, as they finally have to clean up their act.  Having 12 guys on for a missed field goal that would've won them the game is a historical screwup even by franchise standards.  Hold on: I’m looking up new swear words.
The Bills are cursing themselves like fans are cursing at them.  The notion they’re destined to fall apart plagued the Dorsey era.  Who’s going to make the next colossal mistake?  An animated pie chart is fun unless you look at the slices.
Ken’s coda featured drama about whether it was going to be an unimpressive win like against the Giants and Buccaneers or another brutal loss.  The latter again disappointed a league that thought the Bills would thrive.  Numerous night games turned dark.  It’s reasonable for fans to anticipate players are able to perform tasks like holding footballs.
Josh Hurt My Hands is the Netflix series about Bills receivers.  Gabe Davis used to alternate marvelous and lousy games.  Monday, he alternated between targets.  Stefon Diggs getting ignored led to everyone paying attention to Dorsey.  Waiting to use him didn’t save Dorsey’s job any more than holding off way too long to throw to the reliable Khalil Shakir.
Casual screwups are normal.  This season has brought a new phase of Buffalo sports infuriation.  I’m almost impressed this franchise invented novel methods to torment its fans who thought they’d seen all the ways they could be hurt for the crime of wanting to finally enjoy football.
An offense packed with individuals who can’t be trusted aren’t the fault of the coordinator unless his energy really was that bad.  The past tense can bring modest relief.  James Cook really set the tone.  It’s easy to read too much into the first play, but the Bills are big into symbolism.  Josh Allen can’t hold the ball on a handoff, but he played to his utmost otherwise.
Allen entering nightmare mode embodied bad vibes.  His aggravatingly careless turnovers summarize how absolutely nothing will turn out happily.  An insane risk on Buffalo’s second play after carelessness on the first made it feel like they were playing fate.  Humans should know better than to think they’ll triumph.
The quarterback hasn’t been making worthwhile risks.  If there’s such a thing as a skilled gambler, it’s one who recognizes there’s lots of losing ahead.  Knowing the risk yet following through is part of the game.  A quarterback who throws good bad interceptions sees coverage and still calculates the attempt is worth it.  Knowing a risk might fail is as close to an acceptable turnover as there is.  By contrast, Allen has been playing like he’s lashing out.
Buffalo is the place where people flip off Dorsey when he appears onscreen.  Chances will blessedly plummet.  Nobody can claim he’s a scapegoat anymore.  Committing too many errors to highlight was his best chance to keep a wholly undeserved job.  It thankfully didn’t work
Police should escort Dorsey and his bad karma out of the county.  He’d praise their shotgun.  His fetish for distancing the quarterback from the center was like a video game player insisting on using a certain rifle no matter the mission.  Jim was similarly fixated on the sniper rifle.  Sticking with that inapt formation on fourth and two during the second half’s opening drive was a dare to call Dorsey a moron.  Now, call him jobless.
Take your time to not take your time.  Not hurrying up slowed down the offense for just one more exasperating aspect.  Buffalo’s final touchdown was notably not Dorsey’s call.  The quarterback needing to improvise in order for the offense to work means the player did the coordinator’s job.  Making him redundant was already redundant.
The 2023 Broncos just needed one last unearned chance.  Not converting on opportunities was their identity until they faced a team that beat them at losing.  Buffalo remained in a game they tried their hardest to hand away until their guests just couldn’t decline.  Waiting for Denver’s receivers to out-putz their Buffalo counterparts was as fruitless as hoping missed extra points would be sufficient.
Sentencing Sean McDermott to reading every Twitter reply on the Bills account should only be the start of his punishment.  He shouldn’t take the social media manager job, as that person actually performs competently.  Special teams wouldn’t have been able to flaunt their struggles with Sesame Street lessons if he refrained from recklessly blitzing at the exact time to use the defense’s standard zone, namely when Denver needed just a field goal and was still out of range.  Coaching is as bad as coordinating.  That’s the McDermott balance.
Dorsey’s firing is a good start.  McDermott seems to have plateaued just like his team.  We miss when games that should’ve been more comfortable both before and during ended in frustrating wins.  Now, blowing chances that should be scientifically impossible has become normal.
Looking for candidates has only begun.  It might have to substitute for seeking wins.  Detroit’s offensive coordinator Ben Johnson will be pursued relentlessly this offseason and should feel enticed by the chance to help Allen get back to meeting his unique potential.  Hiring a trendy option would not be a lateral move: the Bills ought to be in the market for a new head coach focused on offense and a fresh start.  I bet he wouldn’t have called those dumb blitzes.
This sport’s coach should be fired even before Don Granato.  The fact both unimpressive One Buffalo team leaders should be racing out of town sums up a doubly regrettable ownership tenure.  Terry Pegula is too busy counting his dimes to notice how much he’s lost.
It’s easier to fire a coordinator than replace the roster.  In Dorsey’s case, it’s fun, too.  But figuring who to blame is like a mechanic trying to determine what’s making that clunking.  Woeful play may be blamed on actual players.  They are the ones out there, after all.  But consistent flubbing may be a sign of poor coaching.  The fact the Bills are trying to determine it deep into November may serve as a sign that January will be free.    Losing more games by Thanksgiving than they did all of last season is an early indicator they couldn’t postpone heeding.
Arithmetic struggles were merely the culmination of constant unfortunate decisions both on and off the field.  Nothing looks right.  It doesn’t take an empath to sense the team is skewed.  Dorsey’s ability to shape the future was mortifying in what’s now the past.  The Bills finally did something to affect their own augury.  It’s uncanny how they underachieved once Dorsey got his way.  He know has ample time to determine why.

My favorite #BlackMirror episode is “Hated in the Nation.” Many Black Mirror episodes have blown my mind, but that one especially captured my imagination. “Crocodile” might be in 2nd place.
I make songs like this to freak out my relatives.
On a serious note, there’s a reason film / tv studios spend tens of millions on projects like #Mindhunter (Netflix series). We’ll pay to watch it.
#TedBundy is probably the most famous serial killer in America, maybe because he’s been the easiest to market over the past few decades (charismatic, talkative, lots of video footage and interview material). That said, he could be viewed as the tip of the iceberg. Dig deep enough and you’ll stumble upon characters like Dean Corll and Luis Garavito. Characters and crime sprees that are so gruesome, studios wouldn’t dare waste money trying to market them.
The Dean Corll case particularly shook me. Since learning about it, I’ve woken up dozens of times in the middle of the night over anxiety around that case. It shook me so much that I decided to write a song about it, “Dean Corll (Song 105).”
This is GoBoy’s SUPER minimalistic phase. Some will be turned off by the simplicity of GoBoy 4 songs.
Having so few vocals / lyrics resulted in the song being completed in just a few days. Songs that take that short of an amount of time to complete leave me with little to reflect upon for storytelling, whereas songs that take an entire month to complete give me much to say. Hell, you can binge multiple tv series, get shitfaced multiple times, solve multiple complex problems at work, travel around the country and experience loads of human drama over the course of one month. For “Killer Next Door,” there’s not much to say (excerpts from post 64).
“Nightcall” by Kavinsky teaches us that the verses of a song can be identical (essentially copied and pasted) and people won’t notice as long as they’re spaced far enough apart and the song is catchy enough. It took about 10 or so streams of “Nightcall” before I realized that the verses are identical. This idea of having identical verses (with maybe a tiny bit of variation) would be utilized for this song and others on GoBoy 4, 6 and 7, the most recent being “Don’t (Song 121)” (excerpts from post 56).
After dabbling in bubblegum pop for the 2nd half of GoBoy 3, my original plan was to focus on lyrically driven content for GoBoy 4. The release of ”Everything Will Be Okay (Song 69)” changed my mind, as the focus on dark lyrics impacted my mental state for months afterwards. Focusing on the dark elements of your own life for long enough can turn you into a neurotic mess (the original song “Everything Will Be Okay” had a 3rd verse the delved darker). My focus would shift to bubblegum pop from that point forward, which would impact this song. Music would be made for enjoyment and catchiness, not necessarily for conveying a message. I don’t regret this shift in focus… yet (excerpts from post 60).
In April, 2021, almost all of GoBoy 3, 4 and 5‘s songs were restructured to be under 3 minutes (preferably under 2m 30s), including this song. In an attempt to increase replay value in this streaming era, most of GoBoy’s songs are now purposely around 2m 20s (excerpts from post 38).
A bass boost was added to songs 37-99 in Nov, 2021, while I was stuck at home with covid. As a result, this song feels more powerful. The bass boost isn’t a simple plugin nonchalantly added to each song. It’s a process that took about 3.5 hours per song, or one whole month to complete all songs. Admittedly, I pushed the bass boost a little too far for some of them. The bass in some songs sounds like a freaking earthquake (unnecessarily pronounced low frequencies 20 - 50 Hz). Might dial that back someday. The bass boost was also applied to every song on GoBoy 6 and beyond (excerpt from post 37).

Hello! Long time f1 watcher here! I saw your post in the F1 tag and thought I'd answer some of your questions: 1) it's been half a year since the last race of 2021 and even though there's been a whole investigation (by the FIA) into what happened in Abu Dhabi, we still don't actually have an explanation why only the lapped cars between Max and Lewis were allowed to unlap themselves. The report itself is also frustrating because it's riddled with contradictions, typos and literal wrong facts so it's nice they took it this seriously I guess (/s). It did result in a restructuring of race control and new race directors but I'm not entirely sure yet how much better it is than last year.
2) The impression that RB/Max always got penalized for their mistakes and Lewis didn't is something that I wouldn't say is true because Netflix left out the races and moments of last year where Max did something that could have gotten him penalised but didn't like Barcelona, Imola, Sao Paolo. It went so far that the drivers and the driver's union were basically begging the race director and stewards to give out penalties consistently but race control basically just said well we can't guarantee that, sorry. In Sao Paolo for example Lewis tried overtaking Max on the outside but Max pushed him so far off track that he couldn't make the corner himself and was 3 car widths off track and the incidence wasn't even investigated at all. Other drivers were asked about it the race after and almost all of them said well if that's allowed now I guess I'm going to do that too.
I still think the fact that they basically left out the Brasil weekend is a crime because that entire weekend from practice to the end of the race was naturally drama filled and has such an enormous arc that made me go how is this not scripted. It would have deserved its own episode but I guess the drama was too natural for Netflix and they would have had to explain too many sporting regulations which they just never bothered with up until now haha.
Anyway the whole 2021 was a mess but I hope you have fun with it. Welcome to the fandom (my nr1 advice would be curate the blogs you follow very thoroughly it's the only way to live because most of the fandom is unhinged haha. But if you have questions people are usually happy to answer them so shoot I might just lurk around.)
thank you for clarifying this!! netflix really should explain the rules of what's going on a bit better instead of assuming everyone knows them. it's hard for people like me who are really knew to the sport, trying to understand the intricacies of what's going on and who's in the wrong in most cases.
i kind of understand why they're not showing some things since the format with focusing on particular teams is a bit limiting IMHO. but seeing the drivers' union, the issues with penalties, actually what's going on behind the scenes in terms of racing is definitely more interesting than whatever rivalries they're making the show about. it's almost like they forgot how important the rules and regulations are in the rivalries they're trying to show, therefore telling only half the story.
i've been into f1 for not even two weeks and i'm already pissed off at DTS a) not being accurate to the truth and showing the whole picture, and b) trying to be a KUWTK rather than an actual documentary.
now i want to know more about the brasil weekend lol i'll have to look it up later

axelle judges non bl shows > Remember You
summary: A genius detective teams up with a colleague to investigate a case that hits close to home, but the duo becomes entangled in a cat-and-mouse game.
where to watch: netflix | dramacool
grade: 8,5/10
pros:
- the acting was really solid. I had only seen petch in his role as gus in diary of tootsies which was EXTREMELY different from his role here, and even though he already demonstrated some talent in that, here he really impressed me. I loved seeing the shell around tanwa slowly melt away, and petch played him incredibly well & in a very nuanced way. bell was also great, though her character is less nuanced, she still did great in emotional scenes. but probably the biggest surprise for me was tay tawan, who for me was BY FAR at his best in that role. he managed to capture the volatility & fragility of the character SO WELL, while also looking mysterious & scary at first. it gets me really excited for his future roles bc it’s amazing to see him finally coming together as an actor. and finally, kudos to the actor who plays inspector thanat who was lowkey my fave & really well done as well.
- the characters were all very nice, as I said tanwa was a very compelling main character, paytai was also so fucking layered & complex I was crying over him, and aye was also a really great feminine presence that I enjoyed very much (even though everyone else hated it her for no reason than the fact that she was annoying for like 2 seconds at the beginning & that she’s a woman.) I even greatly enjoyed the side characters.
- the ship was really cute tbh. I loved how slowly but surely they evolved, with no drama, no betrayal, no weird morally grey stuff, just longing & trust. they had just the right amount of screentime imo, enough so we root for them but not too much so we can still focus on the investigation.
- the cinematography & filming was good, not life-changing but that was definitely a really nicely executed show for sure :)
- the writing was honestly really solid. the plot twists are weirdly not surprising at all, yet you’re still on your tiptoes for some reason? I think this show is more about watching stuff unpack rather than being surprised about the stuff that’s being unpacked if that makes sense, which changes a lot from most other thriller/investigation shows. and once again, the balance between the characters & the crime stuff was done really well imo.
cons:
- the beginning of the show is a bit slow, and it could’ve easily been 13 episodes instead of 16 without sacrificing anything important. it would’ve greatly helped the pace & overall made the show feel more polished imo.
- there were some inconsistencies that made me feel like this wasn’t the most tighly run show tbh. it only half bothered me, but does keep me from giving it a higher grade.
would I rewatch it: honestly yes
Overall even though the first few episodes are kinda slow, this is a really good show! I genuinely really enjoyed it & would absolutely recommend it :)

Dramas I've watjched this year Pt 1
This is gonna be all the dramas I started and... have either paused or dropped for various reasons.
If I paused them I might go back to them at some point but if I dropped them that's it.
Mad for each other I like the main actors and I found the Netflix says I finished this... I have no memory of doing that, which should tell you a lot.
Doom at your Service - this one is on hold for now and I actually feel like finishing it because the premise and the actors are really for me and the mood the show brought to the table fits with my end of the year mood. I do think being able to binge this will be beneficial, because I think it wont actually hold up to much scrutiny especially in the latter half. (On Hold for now, 4 eps watched)
True Beauty - I knew this was going to be a hard sell for me and I was right. I always have trouble with high school shows, part of it is my age and part of it is the saccharine spin shows will often put on that. I dropped this fairly early on and I don't think i'm going to give this another chance. The main actress tries, but it's not enough and the cute lesbian romance my heart wanted was not going to happen :<. (Dropped, 4 eps watched).
Novoland: Pearl Eclipse - now granted I didn't technically watch an episode - 2021 had me too wary to start sth and I wanted to give it some time, but I followed along closely enough for the first 10-15 eps on my dash... and well considering how hyped for it I was and how much I *wanted* to watch it it deserves a spot on this list purely on account of the collossal waste of talent, time and audience patience this show is responsible for. (0 Eps watched but way too much time spent reading rants)
Awaken - This started in 2020, but I didnt watch (parts of) it until it was complete. I tried 3!!! times to finish this, with crime shows it's often a matter of me being in the right mood/the show hitting me in the right way until I'm invested because there's no romance (usually) to hook me emotionally. The reason I tried to watch this three times is purely Nam Goong Min and a little bit of the premise, but my god the editing is so bland, the show so averagely shot and the writing not good enough to carry it. (Idek how many eps I watched but I tried!!! 3 times!!!! damn you NGM!)
Inspector Koo - This one I'm DEFINITELY going to finish, now that it's all complete but currently I'm not in the mood for it at all. I can see it's strengths and I'm loving Lee Young Ae and Kim Hye Joon playing off of each other (and what a delightful dynamic that is!!) and the surrounding characters are all very interesting (need to find out what Santa's deal is!) but for some reason the thought of actually finishing it fills me with blah at the moment, which the show doesn't deserve. (6 eps watched - on hold for now)
The Sword and the brocade - TANG SONG YUN, WALLACE CHUNG!!! in a historical drama together, in pretty pretty costumes. It should have been great! But this drama suffers from its length, and even the beginning has some hilarious weird things about it (the fact that he saves her from drowning and its... nbd??? apparently????????) but I was willing to overlook that because they had a lovely understated sort of chemistry, and Tang Songyun really tried to get everything out of her role, but the writing just let down the show so hard I dropped it at the midway point and just never bothered to pick it back up and basically forgot about it. (20ish eps watched. Dropped)
Jun Jiu Ling - I was initially excited for this, I mean I didn't enjoy the source novel a whole lot, but it had Peng Xiao Ran! and Jin Han!!! maybe they can save it but lmao no, I watched 2 episodes and basically peaced out. PXR looked bored and lifeless and Jin Han is not a strong enough actor to really elevate a shoddy script. This isn't to say he's *bad* but if the writing doesn't favour his strength he's completely adrift. This, coupled with the blah production values makes this an instant miss. Only read @purplehanfu's hilarious recaps for this show! (2 eps watched. Dropped)
Jirisan - JOO JI HUN, Jun Ji Hyun!!! I'm just noticing a trend in the last three dramas. I get overly excited for the cast, because I think they largely pick dramas I like, but man the case of blah writing continues. This added to some eh directing had me watching parts of ep 1 and 2 with some skipping, 3 and 4 with more skipping and just not watching more. (Sort of 4 eps watched but not really, Dropped)
One the Woman - Lee Ha Nee is a delight and this show is one I might actually finish, since I do love this kind of premise and the acting of the supporting cast is helping a lot. I do think Lee Sang Yoon is not giving his best performance here, it's not bad but LHN outshines him so severely I honestly wish she was with anyone else. The problem is that I watched it to the halfway mark and I dread the second half which I can see will have a very bad Kdrama 2nd half downturn. Sigh. For LHN I still might though, thank god for the skip button. (On Hold, 8 eps watched.)
Rattan - This had some beautiful visuals a truly bonkers premise, but I think when I was watching the eng subs were sus at best and I kinda forgot about it. Watched about 4 eps?? No idea. Someone tell me how it ended up being as a complete drama please, I dont think my dashboard knows this drama exists haha. (Dropped, possibly might finish at some point)
Song of Youth - I started this for Bai Lu, but good lord her character was so unpleasant and they did sth so weird to the color grading/saturation for this drama I pretty much forgot it existed after 4 eps. (Dropped)
Bossam - Steal the Fate - Another one I was really into for the premise and the actors. Jung Il Woo seems to fare much better in historicals and him being a widow/bride abductor who accidentally abducts a princess was genius set up for me. Once again though the writing was not strong enough and while I did appreciate seeing JIW shirtless the writing left me bored witless. (Dropped)
Sisyphus: The Myth - AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHHAH ha hahahahaliksdjsakjd. I have a wholeass fucking rant on this trash dumpfire of a drama. Well only episode one but jesus fucking christ. Do not watch this. People didn't listen to me and continued and wasted their fucking time. Turns out Cho Seugn Woo can pick trashfires after all, after his string of strong strong dramas and performances. It's like he forgot what acting properly was? I'll just avoid PSH dramas from now on. (I wasted 1 hour on this episode and then whatever time I needed to write down my rant, which is honestly more than this drama deserves).
Hometown - I have only 4 episodes left on this one but by god it was just getting stupider by the second. Manipulating/Hypnotising people via sound/speech? I know that the police in dramas can't be too good otherwise we wont have a mystery or a drama, but this is just getting ridiculous. And everyone seems to have swiss cheese for brains. The production value is pretty high, it looks cinematic, the directing is actually pretty good I think but the script is just... no thank you. (8 episodes watched. Dropped)
Happiness - I'm currently pausing this, but I will definitely finish since I'm on ep 8 and I love the way the show has dealt with its premise and its main characters. Plus PHS is really beefy now??? Good Stuff. (On Hold)
Vincenzo - The hilariously fake italian stuff and the general vibe just didnt work for me so I dropped this fairly early on. I do enjoy the gifs I see on my dash but that's it. (Dropped)
The Devil Judge - It is very homoerotic, so I will have to finish, I just gotta find the time and energy to overlook its nonsense premise, which kind of overstretched my suspension of disbelief. (On Hold)
Taxi Driver - I found the first case pretty interesting, and I liked the lady cop but the core premise was a bit eh and something in me seems to not like vigilante justice all that much because I didn't really like our main characters. (Dropped)
Racket Boys - This show is pure unadulteraded fluffy goodness, but it didnt hook me deeply and that's the only reason I like shows like that. If the vibe is for you though, check it out, the kids feel like actual friends/found family. (Dropped)
Mouse - LMAO lmao lmao lmao no. Once again a DYSMAL fucking first episode that told me that finishing this show would drive me batshit. Plus the whole eugenics angle???? Miss me with that shit please. Also the cops in this universe have single digit IQs I don't know how they survive. (DROPPED LMAO)
A Tale of thousand Stars - I loved LOVED LOVED the trailer for this one, but the premise should have rightly scared me off, transplant love stories are always iffy at best for me and I just couldnt connect with the main characters and didn't believe the actors when they tried to act like they were in love. (Dropped)
Yumi's Cells - I found this to be a surprising delight and I was even into the little emotion animations, but I made the mistake of watching it while it was still airing, catching up and then forgetting about it. I might still continue watching, but maybe once S2 comes out. I do like the way it handles relationships and the fact that for once it's not going for a "HEA" in the traditional sense. I also think making this not a full 16 ep show was a smart move. (On Hold)
22 Shows of which i dropped 16! and 6 are on hold...
