The stars twinkle through the gnarled canopy. White. Bright. Bathing the forest floor with iridescent light. You close your eyes and inhale deeply, savoring the scents of the forest around you. Caras Galadhon dwells behind you, sleeping and silent in the peaceful dark.
You are attuned to every sound in the deep wood, and as you filter through it all, you find nothing out of place or suspicious. But the disturbance of the wood is not of your immediate concern. There are greater trials and closer bodies that seek your attention other than the animals that softly move through the underbrush.
Haldir of Lórien is a beacon in the dark. You sense him before you see him, standing just shy of your right shoulder.
“The night is quiet,” he whispers.
You open your eyes, turn to face him. “It is indeed.”
Haldir’s gaze casually drops to your lips and then back to your eyes. A gentle heat radiates up your body to encompass you in its embrace. You have little control over your body’s reaction to him.
The answering of your flesh when he is in your presence is unfair. It is a cruel joke. You are promised to another, but not one of your choosing. If you had a choice, you would pick Haldir.
Always.
But that is not to be. That is not the path set out before you.
Him standing here next to you, alone in the gentle dark, is agony. The heat of him is so near, so alive that it sends your senses tingling with anticipation. The clashing beat within you is a deafening drum.
Can Haldir hear the racing of your heart? Can he sense your need and your aching tremble?
You hope he can’t, but you also silently hope that he does. What would he do then?
Haldir’s gaze finally leaves you to glance out into the wood. “We should begin the patrol.”
“Of course,” you murmur, inclining your head, allowing Haldir to take the lead.
He returns his gaze to you briefly before taking a step forward to walk between two trees. You follow him at a short distance, watching the distance, keeping a constant pivot. The two of you walk in relative silence, moving like phantoms amongst the towering trees.
At a small clearing, Haldir pauses. You cozy up beside him, a question starting to form on your lips.
“Do you remember this place?” he asks softly, gaze fixated at the center of the clearing. A sharp beam of moonlight illuminates the ground. The flowers glow under its lunar light.
You do know this place. On one of your many patrols with Haldir, he confessed his love in this very clearing. He held your hands in his, kissed your knuckles and each of your fingers. He whispered in a longing of gentle song that soothed your nerves and calmed your soul. In that moment, you didn’t want anyone else, you only wished for him.
But how things change.
“It is etched upon my heart,” you answer truthfully.
Haldir’s silver hair shines like starlight. “I’d like to stay here. My memories of this place are happy ones.”
The two of you have come to this clearing on multiple occasions. It is no coincidence that Haldir’s patrol includes you. He selects you on purpose, and you go with him willingly because you desire the closeness. It will not last forever, not when you’re promised to another.
“We can only linger here for so long,” you remind him.
Haldir sighs heavily, and turns to face you. He has always been stoic. Calm. Even in your presence, even when he whispered gentle words of love to you, Haldir never appeared…desperate.
The look on his face now is anything but calm. It is intense—a billowing storm tightly contained.
“Stop looking at me like that,” you murmur, startled by the sudden change.
Haldir’s gaze goes to your lips, lingers, and then flicks up to your eyes. “Why do you deny yourself what you want?” he asks.
You swallow and tuck your clenched fist behind your back. Haldir’s directness is too much. He knows that this is not of your own choosing.
“You cannot ask this of me,” you answer, hating yourself for sounding so weak.
Haldir entirely shifts his body in your direction. Taking a step forward, he moves into your space. Your back bumps up against the tree next to you. Haldir places his hand against the trunk next to your head.
You are trapped, but by all the stars in the night sky, you do not care.
His scent is woodsy and clean. You lean in a bit, inhaling, attempting to remember his smell since this might be your last opportunity to do so.
“You stay loyal to him.” Haldir bends at the elbow, pressing in. “And yet you know that he lusts after another.” The center of his brow furrows slightly. “Why not be with someone who will always worship you?”
Him. Him, meaning, your betrothed. The one you’re supposed to be with in the end. The selection made for you. This is an expectation placed upon you.
And Haldir is right. He does not love you. While you intend to be loyal in your upcoming marriage, you also know his heart will yearn for another. But you also yearn for someone else, and Haldir is standing right here, questioning all of this, wanting to know why you won’t pick him.
“Sometimes duty comes before happiness,” you reply softly, gaze cast downward.
“Does it?” he counters quickly.
You keep your face turned toward the ground. Stare at your feet.
The two of you have lain in this clearing, limbs draped over and around each other. There has always been closeness between the two of you. There has always been touching, skin pressed to skin, lips brushing but never fully meeting. Yet, the two of you have never completed the act itself.
That is binding. That is forever.
But you see it in Haldir’s eyes now as you sneak a peek of him. That desperate hunger. The desire to be with one person for the end of your days. It is an arrow through the heart, piercing and sharp and stinging.
You wish to satiated it, to admit to what you want most in this world. Because it is him. It is Haldir that you crave more than anyone else.
“I would be breaking my oath,” you reply softly, finally having the courage to look at him directly.
“Would you?” he asks. “You have made no vow. You have created no bond. The choice is yours. Utterly.” He gestures at himself with his free hand. “And I am right here.”
With a shaking hand, you reach up to cradle his cheek. Haldir turns into your touch, sighing gently, and that snaps your resolve, dissolves it like the winter snows melting in the sun. Haldir must sense the change, because the two of you meet, lips finally joining in what they’ve been longing for.
He tastes perfect. Wonderful. A match made for the ages.
Haldir’s hand upon the tree departs, leaving the bark to encircle your waist, to draw your body against his. You do not resist. You surrender to him, opening like a flower, wanting nothing more than to forget all your fears and sorrows in this little clearing.
The night is long, but it is not forever. For now, the two of you can have this.
Haldir drags you even closer, pressing you firmly against him as he learns the contours of your lips. His hands discover the planes of your body, and yet it’s not enough for him. Haldir is charged like lightening across the sky.
The two of you have been denying these mutual feelings for far too long.
This is a tremor. Earth-shaking. A star bursting into dust.
Haldir guides you to the center of the clearing, easily removing his cloak with one hand. He breaks away a moment to lay it down on the dewy grass, reaching for you the moment it fans out to hold the two of you.
You sink down with him, buckles and straps, and armor disappearing as you go.
It is everything.
It is nothing.
It is all you need in the gentle dark.

Reunited - Haldir X Fem!Reader
Oneshot, word count: 828 Warnings: steam
Tumblr media
Your eyes fluttered open to the soft morning light warming your face through the window. Outside, the woods of Lothlorien were waking with the sunrise. You stretched, ready to shake off another night of restless sleep in an empty bed without him.
It had been months since Haldir had left at Lady Galadriel’s command, riding at the head of five hundred elven warriors to the defense of Rohan. Each passing day took you further from his memory and dimmed the possibility of reunion. A tender bruise was forming on your heart as, moment by moment, the reality of Haldir’s death pressed in on you.
Eager to rid yourself of the weighty grief that waited for you in the empty bed, you threw off the covers. The cool air chilled you, raising goose pimples on your arms and legs. You reached for the fur-lined robe that Haldir had gifted you on your wedding night - the nights in Lorien are cooler than those of Rivendell, he’d told you - and wrapped it around you. You let your mind briefly imagine it was his arms snaking around your waist, not the sash of the robe, but quickly extinguished the image when that aching bruise in your chest blossomed with pain.
You took a breath in, steeling yourself for another day. You didn’t let yourself hope for his return any longer; now, you hoped more for another day without news of his death.
“Come back to bed, my love. There’s a chill without you.”
You froze, every muscle in your body rigid and brittle as if you’d been turned to glass. The breath in your lungs evaporated, leaving your chest feeling treacherously close to caving in on itself. Not real, not real, not real.
When you felt a hand - warm, broad, and strong - grip your waist, your emotions broke out of their dam with a roar. Tears sprang to your eyes in an instant, your body racked with sobs as you buried your face in your hands. Real, real, real.
“Ssh, ssh my love.” Haldir sat up behind you as you pulled the hair off one side of your neck before encircling you with his arms. You whimpered when you felt the warmth of his chest and torso against your back, the soft breeze of his breath on your neck.
“Haldir.” Your voice cracked on his name as you gripped his arms, tightening his embrace around you as if he were the only thing keeping you from shattering.
“I must admit, this is not the joyful homecoming that kept me lying awake at night for the last seven months.” His tone was light and playful, and he pressed a few kisses to the soft skin where your neck met your shoulder.
Something shifted in that moment, and the second wave of repressed emotions leapt through the barriers you’d carefully constructed around them since the moment you’d said goodbye to him. Despite the tears swimming in your eyes, you laughed as you twisted to face him.
“Haldir,” you said again, cradling his handsome face in your arms. He looked just as you remembered him, although you didn’t miss the pale stripe of a new scar stretching from his cheek down across his jawline and onto his throat. Instinctively, you ran a thumb along the scar. Haldir closed his eyes, nuzzling into your hand and breathing in deeply.
“Is it really you?” It was the only question you were able to ask. The only one that mattered.
He opened his eyes, his gaze meeting yours where it burned with an intensity you hadn’t realized you’d forgotten. You melted beneath it, your skin tingling and your heart pirouetting in your chest. He didn’t need to say anything for you to hear his answer: yes, it is really me.
“It’s really me,” he replied simply, his hands traveling up your back and pulling you tightly against him as if trying to melt away the skin and muscle and bones that separated your two souls. Your hands danced over his face, his jaw, his lips, his hair. Reacquainting themselves with the angles, hollows, and grooves of the man whose image was imprinted on the inside of your heart.
The moment was close to yielding to the needs of two bodies alight with heat and love, but for another few breaths, you let yourself soften into the warmth of the reunion. His forehead connected with yours and you took a synchronized inhale. Around you, the sun bathed the forest in early morning light and the birds sang. The sunlight felt stronger and the birdsong sweeter, but you knew that was just because your heart was once again open to beautiful things now that it was healed.
“About damn time,” you whispered after a few moments. Haldir chuckled wickedly, the sound sending flames dancing up your spine and a molten coil of desire churning in your core as he guided you down onto the bed for a proper welcome home…

Runaway Love
Tumblr media
↳ Runaway Love, Haldir x Reader, angst to fluff drabble Based on this imagine by @imagine-all-the-elves Warnings: Slight angst but little of it Word Count: 1.3k AN: I apologise for any mistakes and errors that you might find, I was only too excited to write for Haldir (yes, my first time with this ellon). But I think it turned out decent. Let me know your thoughts :)
"Imagine Haldir's reaction after you confess your feelings for him and he fails to say or do something before you think that he doesn't share your feelings and run off."
The birds chirped their spring songs in the golden trees high above you, filling your scenic afternoon walk with pleasant melodies. A great pity it was, your own anxiety preventing you from enjoying the nature around you, yet who could ever blame you for allowing your nerves to get the better of you when you had decided upon your waking this morn, that today was going to be the day at last when you would no longer hold your silence, and would bear your heart open to the one who had stolen it long ago.
“My lord Haldir,” your voice was a tad mousier than you would have wished, his effect on you seeming stronger today as if to spite your timid soul.
“Yes, my lady?” the Marchwarden gazed down towards you, his pale blue eyes finding yours in an instant, a soft questioning look making his otherwise well-guarded features look almost boyish.
“May we sit for a moment?” you tore your eyes away from him, lest unwanted color would rise to your cheeks and make you appear to be the foolish girl you had always thought yourself to be.
“Of course,” Haldir agreed softly and started you in the direction of the nearest bench.
Nearly hidden away entirely by the golden canopy of the trees that grew only in Lorien, you took your seats on the wooden bench, away from the rest of the world yet inevitably closer to the moment you had both dreaded and desperately longed for.
Your fingers became a fumbling tangle while your heart began a steady race inside your chest, trembling with every gentle breath you took in your silly hopes of calming yourself.
This was it, the moment was here. Wasn’t this what you had been dreaming of since the first day your feet had stumbled onto the precious soil of Lothlorien and your eyes had gazed upon the fair elf for the very first time?
Long had his pale eyes and golden hair haunted your dreams, more so your waking hours when deep longing had seemed to be your only companion.
His kind offer to accompany you on your daily walks had only fed your desire to unburden the feelings your heart had been nurturing in painful secret. Could you truly afford to deny yourself this moment when knowing the regret of doing so would eat you alive?
A soft yet slightly calloused hand grasped yours with a feather-like tenderness you could hardly believe possible of someone as refined a warrior as the Marchwarden.
“What troubles you, my lady?” his spoken words were not shy of honest concern.
You took a deep breath and forced yourself to look at the ellon you had come to love so dearly.
“While I’ve been enjoying our friendship and treasuring the moments of your company, there is something I feel that I should confess,” you started slowly, dragging the words from your mouth despite the growing fear in the pits of your stomach.
Haldir remained silent, waiting for you to go on in that silent patience you had come to admire.
You felt like your throat was closing up, dry and hoarse it seemed, unable or unwilling to voice your truth. You swallowed once and decided to put yourself out of this misery at once. No turning back now.
“I fear that for quite some time now, I have been…I’ve been thinking of you as in…,” try as hard as you could, the words would not come out. The expectant blue eyes staring directly at you weren’t helping either, only making you that much more flustered.
“What I want to say is that,” you trailed off, still unable to find the words, cursing yourself for not having a single ounce of confidence to help you through this increasingly awkward scene.
Fool, you silly fool of a girl. Just spit it out already before he thinks you a dimwit.
“I fancy you.”
Three words. Your confession rolled off your lips with about as much grace as a tumbling of rocks.
The relief you felt was short lived. Haldir’s expression hardened, his pale eyes glazing over as if he was trying to distance himself from this naked display of emotion. To your growing horror, the Marchwarden withdrew his hand from yours and cleared his throat the same way he always did when something was annoying him.
You felt cold, his treatment of your precious heart freezing you to your very core, making you instantly feel sick while tears threatened to come at any moment.
Had it all been in your head? Him taking your hand, kissing it softly before tucking your arm underneath his own? The secret spark in his eyes whenever he saw you? His own tempered smile when your lips said his name.
Did I dream it?
“Forgive me,” you mumbled while biting back your tears. You had done more than enough to make him uncomfortable, last thing you wanted was to force him to comfort you when you had, compelled by your own delusions, made an utter fool of yourself.
As quickly as your trembling legs would carry you, you fled the scene where your heart and soul had withered, and your dreams had fallen to their death.
Bitter tears pooled in your eyes while you tried to see straight enough to not trip over a fallen branch or a stray rock on your way back the same golden pathway you had taken earlier.
Your mind frantically cursing you for your stupidity of thinking someone as high ranked as the Marchwarden would ever waste a single thought of affection on someone lowly as yourself, you had failed to notice the footsteps behind you, wide strides getting closer and closer until finally firm fingers gripped your arm and jerked you around where you collided with something firm.
“What-,“ you had started but at the sight of the ellon who had so mercilessly crushed your dreams, your words died on your lips.
Haldir’s pale eyes sparked with something you hadn’t witnessed before. He looked fierce, his features as hard as ever but this time, a certain determination was written plain on an otherwise impenetrable façade. His hands steadied you before he, without uttering a single word, knelt down before you and took your cold hand in his warm one.
“I beg your forgiveness, my lady,” he averted his eyes and was focusing all his attention to your clasped hands.
“My lack of an appropriate response has hurt you deeply, and for that I will never forgive myself. I can only hope that you can find it in your noble heart, to look past my shortcomings and accept my earnest explanation and my sincere apology.”
“I am ashamed to admit that your confession, as longed for as it was, caught me off-guard. I had only dreamed of it in the sweetest of dreams, but never dared hope to hear it from your own lips.”
His words pinned you to the ground, unable to move or even breathe while wide eyes stared at the crown of his golden head, unblinking and barely seeing the shimmering light dancing in his silken hair.
“Your confession was all I had yearned for, ever since I found you wandering along our boarders. You took my heart that night, and I was willing to let you have it for I selfishly hoped that one day you might offer me a piece of yours.”
Haldir’s eyes found yours then. You couldn’t help but marvel and shudder at the same time at how vulnerable and naked he looked, his eyes all but begging you to accept his apology and gift him with your heart anew.
“My heart is yours, Haldir. It’s always been yours,” you whispered quietly lest you would startle him back to his usually guarded self. To your and most likely his own surprise his lips moved and Haldir offered you a genuine smile, warm and soft like the spring day around you.

A little bit jealous and protective
Summary: Imagine Haldir getting a little bit Jealous and Protective. By the fact that an elven woman can not keep her hands off you.
Word count: 1043
Warnings: no one
Haldir x Male Reader
——————————————————————————————————
It is the anniversary of the Festival of the Stars and because you have been living in Lothlórien for a while now. You will attend the festival, of course. Haldir, your husband, will not be free in the evening, as he is going on patrol, but he will be there for the end of the festival.
You put on your dark green trousers with your dark blue robe. Then you fix your hair shortly. Before leaving your chamber.
As you walk into the hall, you can hear the soft singing of the Elven singers and many delicacies shaped like stars are on tables at the sides. Every of the Elves is dressed in their best clothes, you can see that everyone here in Lothlórien is looking forward to the feast and wants to make it a beautiful memory.
You stand at one of the tables in the hall and have a glass to drink. As you watch the Elven entertainment, two Elven Women approach you.
"Y/n, are you alone here today?"
"We can keep you Company when none of your friends are around?"
They giggle.
"An Elven Knight like you shouldn't be alone on such a special night."
"I'll be fine on my own, don't worry, you should probably stop drinking."
"Oh, so what y/n we like to be close to you"
“We like to drink.”
"You're so beautiful and strong, you're definitely good at protecting anyone, hehe "
"Especially us "
"If we get attacked, I'll protect as many as I can, including you, but that's normal".
The two Elven women continue to harass you for a while, but it eventually becomes too exhausting, so you manage to find an excuse to get away from the two women.
You leave the large hall and go to a smaller one, where a group of elves are also celebrating the feast.
You watch them move gently to the songs and smile slightly.
You grab some sweet fruit and enjoy it, as you listen to the music of the elves. Then you look up into the sky and you see through the treetops that it is already quite dark.
I wonder if Haldir will be done with his patrol soon.
Then a few Elves appear and begin to talk to you.
All the conversation with the Elves that join you makes you tired, so you decide to return to your chamber.
But unfortunately you don't make it to your chamber. Because an Elven woman stops you in the corridor.
"Y/n, wait, where are you going?" She stands in front of me and won't let me pass.
"I would like to go to my chamber, if I may, please let me pass".
The Elven Woman makes no attempt to leave me alone, instead she places her hand on my shoulder.
Now annoyed, I try to push her away from me. But that doesn't seem to bother her, she lets her hands wander to my arms.
"You're pretty strong though, I can feel your muscles".
"I see, would you please let go of me"
"But why, we could have a little fun"
"Not interested" as I try to slip past her she pushes me against the wall. Surprised, I look at her.
"Y/n, don't be so stubborn. We can have lots of fun"
"I told you I'm not interested, now let go of me" she doesn't move a bit.
She lets her hands wander over my arms to my face.
"Your partner isn't here, he won't know about this, hmm, so come on, don't act like that, entertain me."
"Not interested!"
Just as she is about to touch my cheek, another hand comes from my left and holds it.
"He said he's not interested, so you should let him go." the hand pushes the elven woman's hand to her side.
I look up and see Haldir still in his full armor. He doesn't seem to have gotten time to take off his armor yet.
"Haldir," I whisper, looking up at him. His eyes glance towards me for a moment before he looks back to the woman.
"Oh, come on, he's going to have a lot of fun with me," she protests.
Haldir moves between me and her to block her from looking at me.
"He's having enough fun if you stay away from him, so leave him alone. He's with me."
He was clearly jealous. And I saw it. I know he hated feeling that way.
Because he trusted you, he would put his life in your hands without hesitation. You saw it in his eyes.
The Elven woman complains for a moment before her eyes fall on another elven man who is alone and she disappears.
Haldir follows her with his eyes. As she disappears from his sight, he turns to me.
"Are you all right? Why aren't you still at the feast?"
"I'm all right, thanks to you. There were a lot of people talking to me, it made me a little sleepy, I wanted to go to the chamber."
Haldir takes my hand and together we head to the chamber.
When you arrive in the room he lets go of you and takes off his armor to stand in front of you in his normal clothes again. Then he grabs you softly one more time.
You glanced quickly down at his hands, both of those wrapped tightly around your arms, right where hers had been.
"I don't like it at all that she thought you'd respond to something like that," Haldir says in frustration.
"I think she now understands that because of your actions."
"I hope so, pretty boy."
"That's something I've never seen you do before" you whispered softly.
You looked to his soft eyes and felt the anger begin to leave his body. "Well, she needs to learn to keep her hands to herself," he replied.
"I think you taught her that," you laughed, still in a low voice.
"What's mine is mine," he replies firmly, taking another step closer to you.
You giggled in response and whispered back, "I'm yours, my love, don't worry."
Then you took another step closer to him and slightly tucked your chin up, in a silent request for a kiss. To which Haldir gladly responds.

Imagine | Haldir
"- I thought you were quite aware about Lorien 's laws, - Haldir 's voice sounded dissatisfied, you'd rather say annoyed. - Probably, I was mistaken.
You froze, waiting for execution to be done.
- I've heard about someone insane who, spitting on security rules, sneaks to the border, but I’d never expected it to be you.
You finally turned around and now you looked at him guiltily. The surprise in his voice was real and you felt ashamed.
- You know, orcs are the theme of my interest, scientific.
He frowned, he was unhappy with your excuse. You stood in silence for a while, but soon Haldin exhaled heavily and looked at you. He looked exhausted and quite concerned.
- And you are a theme of my very personal interest, - you blushed. - And I'd like to be able to study you for a lifetime. That's why I need you to be alive and safe.
He closed the distance between you and rested his forehead on yours.
- I'll consider changing my theme of interest to something more close and familiar, - you grinned before pressing your lips to his."

Haldir: *notices and acts fast without thinking- catches her- wraps his hand around her waist and pulls her up to him*
Aahanna: *gasps and drops the platter of flowers and her hands are flat on his chest. Wides eyes looking at him and feeling his hand on her waist*
Haldir: *realizes how close they are and clears his throat awkwardly. Pulls her safety up*
Aahanna: *blushes and shocked that his hand was around her exposed waist and back* umm. . . thank you

I'm doing pretty good! Ty for asking
I wanted to request Lindir (and anyone else you might want to do) with a reader that loves playing with/braiding his hair? A very simple request but I find it adorable
That does sound quite sweet 😌 I decided to do this with all the major elves because we love elf fluff in this house 💖
Elves + Braiding
Lindir
✧ He is surprised the first time you idly take strands of his long brown hair in your hands, giving a look of polite surprise as he awaits your next action.
✧ Then you pull back the sides of his hair, braiding them at the back of his head, and he would be lying if he said it felt anything but satisfying, both having his face freed from the strands and also your hands delicately working their magic upon his hair.
✧ Too shy to request it, Lindir simply sits by your side, hoping the whim takes you again. Perhaps he will practice a song, sitting at his harp or holding a smaller instrument and feeling the small smile creep onto his lips when your fingers comb through his hair again.
✧ When he catches you in a moment of stress his subconscious works faster than his mind; without thinking he’s running hands through your hair, sliding the cool skin soothingly over your scalp.
✧ He turns red each time, but Lindir’s absolute favorite is when you rest your gorgeous head upon his shoulder. Gently he strokes your hair before ever-so-slightly resting his head atop yours.
Thranduil
✧ Fixes you with a look of surprise when you subconsciously reach for his long golden locks, but after removing a leaf from them your fingers twirl the ends of his tresses and he smiles fondly.
✧ Shakes his head a bit at you as you play with his hair, weaving new strands together. The loops you make may not be as intricate as others he has seen, but they are sturdy.
✧ From then on Thranduil dubs you talented, encouraging you to try more techniques, be they braiding or weaving. At first you can hardly help questioning if he sees your intent…
✧ …before you realize he is the only one you’re allowed to practice on. He is calling on you, plain and simple.
✧ You try to keep this out of your head, but the way the back of his hand traces your cheekbones as he sits you down makes that harder and harder…
Arwen
✧ You relax her in a way few else do, the ease you bring leading her to seek you out again and again.
✧ She knows how you enjoy what you do and she wants to pay it back, too. “Come, let us make our braids!” And just like that, your habit has become ours.
✧ She loves the feel of your hair, asking permission of course the first few times she touches it, but soon it seems even when you’re just sitting together someone is caressing the other’s hair.
✧ Sometimes when you’re feeling especially merry, you’ll playfully swat her with her own little ponytails. It always gets one of those rare laughs out of her.
✧ Cue Arwen wrapping her arms around your shoulders, forcing you to drop her hair as she grapples you (lovingly).
Elrond
✧ His eyes track yours one day, catching the way they follow the silky length of his hair. One day you venture sweeping some off his shoulder, growing bolder at Elrond’s soft smile.
✧ Your hands shake at first, but he nods and smiles reassuringly as you begin your weaving work. His hair is smooth, needing little to nothing, so instead you craft a kind of crown for him braided about his head.
✧ You tell him as much as you reveal your work, shocked at the way his expression has melted into something far, far softer.
✧ “Allow me to return the favor,” he says, hands sliding temptingly over your shoulders as he rotates you- and who are you to say no?
✧ “Though I do not deserve a crown,” you remind him. “You do not see things as I do, then.”
Legolas
✧ You’d never touch his hair without asking, unsure how Legolas would react until you shyly offer to braid it freshly back for him.
✧ He agrees with one of the smiles that has your heart leaping, encouraging you with a gentle nod as you take a seat behind him and begin your work. From the moments your hands brush his back, you can feel Legolas relaxing as you weave his golden hair.
✧ From then on he goes to you when he wants it fixed, teasingly asking if you might like to braid his hair again.
✧ It’s probably one of the most romantic things to happen to you the day Legolas sits you down, saying it’s his turn to take care of your hair.
✧ You two both end up in this sort of symbiosis of doing each other’s hair, barely ever touching your own.
Haldir
✧ Starts a bit the first time your hands comb his hair, but the butterflies he’s feeling may become evident in the way Haldir’s eyes fix you.
✧ You can feel him lean into your touch, the gentle motion of your fingers soothing him. Rare are the moments in which Haldir gives in to simple breath, release of all the burdens that he holds, and yet it is clear he craves it.
✧ "Why," he asks as you release his locks, letting them flow down his shoulders, "are you doing this?" "Do you really not know?" You simply ask back, caresses moving from the base of his neck to the sides of his face as you turn him your way.
✧ Your habit leads to the first of many kisses shared with Haldir, often stolen beneath the swaying branches of some faraway tree.
✧ Playing with your hair is not his habit, but running his hands wildly through it as your lips embrace is.
Galadriel
✧Amusement dances in her blue eyes as you reach up and comb her golden waves through your hands.
✧ “I’m sorry,” you sheepishly apologize, “may I?” “Of course,” she answers simply and gives a little nod as you step closer again.
✧ Galadriel turns to fix her enchanting gaze upon you as you work, smile too knowing not to bring warmth to your face and a shake to your fingers.
✧ Since that day, she combs her fingers through your hair as she passes by you, her fingers sometimes trailing down to the side of your cheek.
✧ You can feel her eyes upon you as far as her watch can reach, simultaneously bringing safe warmth shining through your chest and a shiver down your spine.

Pairing: Haldir x Reader
Summary: Reader is attacked by orcs that sneaked into Lorien, but Haldir comes to her rescue.
Words: 1252
Warnings: there is a fight, so mentions of that, but nothing graphic

♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
It happend when you and Haldir had been married for atleast hundred years. He was out, patrolling around Lorien, making sure you home was safe, when a few orcs managed to sneak in.
You were on your way back from an afternoon tea with your parents Galadriel and Celeborn when you ran into them.
Most afternoons the sun shone so beautifully through the tops of the outer trees that you were happy to take a few detours. But you were still inside the safety of Lorien. Otherwise it would have been far too dangerous to walk all on your own.
The shimmering of the leaves always inspired new ideas for songs and poems in your head, which is why your curiosity drew you that way again and again.
On that day you were walking under the treetops as usual, when suddenly something bumped into you from the side and knocked you to the ground.
Confused, you looked up and what you saw made you feel nauseous. With fear. For in front of you stood several orcs with raised weapons.
How did they find a way through Lorien's defences? Had they already hurt someone? Would they hurt you?
Your heart pounding, you scrambled to your feet and stumbled a few steps back.
It wasn't that you couldn't fight, on the contrary, you had learned to use swords at an early age and Haldir had only recently shown you how to use a bow and arrow. However, you had no weapons with you and there were several orcs and you were not sure if you could take them on, even if you tried or were less afraid.
While your mind was racing, the orcs managed to block the path you had just taken to your home.
All you could think about was how much you wanted to see your husband now. Haldir would cut down the orcs in a matter of seconds.
And then an idea came to you. The direct border of Lorien was not too far away, so if you were lucky you could make it, and maybe even lead the orcs away from the other elves. So you ran.
A few times your feet buckled and branches and leaves cut into your face and arms, but you just kept running, ignoring the pain. You had no choice. It would not have been wise to stop. Not when you could hear that the orcs were still following you.
Soon a group of elven warriors came into view, standing not far away.
In the middle you could make out someone you would recognise among thousands. Your Husband, Haldir.
"Haldir!" you shouted loudly to alert them as quickly as possible.
At first he looked surprised to see you, then worried because you normally did never visit him when he was out on patrol, and when he saw the orcs behind you he reached for his bow.
"Don't worry, Meleth nin, I'll help you!" he called as he ran towards you.
Only seconds after, a precisely aimed arrow whizzed past you and, judging by the sound, brought down an orc. More arrows, shot by the other elves, followed.
When Haldir finally reached you, he immediately wrapped an arm around your waist to pull you close.
"Are you okay?" he asked quietly, waiting for you to nod before shouting orders to the others. Soon they had killed all the orcs and you felt yourself exhale with relief.
Haldir's other arm also found its way around your body and he buried his face in your hair. You felt his warm breath ghost over your scalp, making your skin tingle.
"I'm glad nothing happened to you," he whispered and hugged you a little tighter, "I'm sorry. We- we probably missed something." He broke away from the embrace and only now did you see the tears that were running down his cheeks.
"If something would have happened to you then- then- "
"Hey," you interrupted him gently, taking his face in your hands, "none of this is your fault. These orcs probably planned this for a long time. No one could have foreseen that they would target Lorien of all places."
"But," He looked a little exasperated," in all my time as- well, it never- "
You just shook your head. "A short while ago, my mother told me she had heard that darkness was rising again in Mordor. It is not something we could have prepared for so quickly." You leaned forward to press your forehead to his. He usually tried to avoid too much romantic affection in public, but in a situation like this it was different. He had no intention of pushing you away. "Please do not blame yourself, Meleth nin."
He kept his forehead pressed against yours for a while until he finally stepped back and turned to his brothers Rumil and Orophin who were standing only a few steps away.
They both looked at you worried, as you had become very good friends with them since you and Haldir had started courting.
"We need to walk all the areas of the border again and see if we really- " Haldir began, but Orophin raised a hand to silence him.
"I know you only want what's best for Lorien, but," he nodded towards you, "your wife needs you now, brother. Rumil and I can handle this. You take care of her."
Haldir looked a little uncertain, but in the end he nodded. One of his arms was still wrapped around you, and he only broke away from you when you were in the safety of your home.
Only now did you realise how lucky you had been. Although you usually knew almost exactly where Haldir was on his patrols, it was still luck that you had found him so quickly. In your panic, you could have accidentally run in the wrong direction, until at some point you would have been unable to run any further.
You felt something soft press gently against your cheek and pull you out of your thoughts. You looked up and saw Haldir looking at you with a soft expression in his eyes. "I will just clean the deepest scratch on your cheek," he said, "do not worry, you will feel much better in a moment."
When Haldir had carefully examined every scratch on your face and arms, he gently pulled you into the bedroom and made sure you lay down carefully.
"Haldir," you chuckled softly, "I have only a few scratches. I am not badly hurt."
He gave you a serious look and immediately the smile faded from your face.
"But you could," he said sternly. "Why were you out on your own in the first place? From now on you should only go with an escort. If it gets any more dangerous, then- " he interrupted himself and gave you an apologetic look. "I'm sorry, Meleth nin, I- I just don't want anything to happen to you because I love you so much."
"I know." You whispered, patting the space on the bed next to you, "Come on, lie down with me."
Haldir slowly eased himself under the warm blanket, nestling beside you. As he settled in, he immediately drew you close to him, wrapping his arms around you and pressing you tightly against his warm and comforting chest. One of his hands caressed your back with a soothing motion, while his other hand gently ran through your hair.
"Sleep well," he whispered," I love you."
"I love you too." You whispered back.

I would like to uno reverse and ask how the elves (yep, all the LOTR/hobbit elves you write for) would react to their s/o keeping them warm, whether it be with a blanket, an extra cloak, or even magically radiating warmth.
LOTR/THE HOBBIT ELVES REACTING TO THEIR S/O WHO GIVE THEM THEIR COAT/BLANKET WHEN ITS COLD.
Elrond
Istg this poor guy will survive the cold for you
You don’t realize it’s cold but when you look over at Elrond he’s quite literally shivering from cold
You quickly deduce that the poor ellon has stayed out simply because you were
You chuckle fondly, finding it sweet as you drape a coat/blanket over him and he blinks at you in surprise
He tries to protest but you glare at him and he shuts up
Thranduil
No, just no.
This man will refuse to take your coat
Anyway, he wouldn't even be out in the cold
If he finds it cold, there is no way he’s letting you go out
Legolas
Dude does not get cold
Have you seen him running through those snowy places?
Yeah, he's too jumpy to be cold
He will politely reject your coat if you ask though
Lindir
This poor sweet innocent baby 😭
He won’t wait for you to offer it, he’s gonna just grab it then apologize as he wraps himself in it
Literally freezing
He’ll be okay, he snuggles against you for extra warmth
Haldir
Dude patrols borders, he’s used to it
May actually fall asleep standing up in the cold
You just wrap the blanket around him and he’ll stir slightly
Poor bby, he’s so tired
He’ll hold you tight, swaddling you in the blanket too
Glorfindel
He will snatch your blanket quicker than you can say his name
He’ll apologize but he aint sorry at all
He is COLD.
Let him have the damn blanket xD
Feren
Sweet bby
He won’t say anything even if the air is a bit chilly
He’ll do his best to hide it but you soon realize just how cold he is
“Thank you, meleth.” He’ll smile at you as you drape the blanket over his shoulders but insists you both share it
Figwit
“My lady/lord, it’s cold” He’ll comment on the chilliness of the air as you stroll through the garden
No matter how many times you tell him to call you your name he will insist on using your title in public
When you give him your coat he looks surprised and tries to protest but soon gives in, wrapping it around himself
“Thank you, meleth…” He’ll whisper, his ears red
{Thanks for the request and hope it lives up to your expectations! Apologies for the wait. And as always, my inbox is open!}

Haldir Headcanons
pairing: Haldir x gn!Reader
summary: relationship headcanons with Haldir of Lórien. [SFW]
word count: 789
warnings: none, fluff
∾∾∘⋅∗⋄⋆⋄∗⋅∘∾∾
- He is such a chill boyfriend.
- He’s the epitome of calm like 99% of the time and it really brings stability to your relationship.
- He seems pretty serious, and he is, but that doesn’t mean he can’t be fun. His humor is definitely dry, but once you get it, you get it and you’re always cracking up because he always makes the right joke at just the right moment.
- He can be pretty quiet so a lot of your time spent together will most likely be in comfortable silence.
- I think he’d prefer to show his love via quality time and words of affirmation. While his words of affirmation may not be spoken very often, they are always heavy with sincerity and very personal to you and your relationship.
- Haldir definitely likes using pet names like “my darling” or “meleth” or “sweetheart” and he uses them quite often, even in public. He also has nicknames for you that come from inside jokes, but he usually saves those for more private company.
- Haldir just loves spending time with you, he doesn’t care so much about what you’re doing, as long as you’re together. He’s happy just sitting quietly at home, doing your own things in the same room, or going out to do an activity. So long as the two of you are together, and you’re happy, he’s happy.
- Haldir likes to see you smile. Just seeing you smile brightens his day and makes him so much happier. He likes to tell you that your smile shines brighter than all the lights in Lothlórien. When he’s coming home from patrol, he’s actually looking forward to seeing your face while you're smiling. There’s something about the light in your face when you’re grinning that makes his heart pick up its pace.
- Haldir isn’t super great at communication though. Being quiet is his nature, and that can include his feelings. It’s kind of a slow start for you in getting him to open up. It still takes effort sometimes too, he just naturally keeps things to himself. This has been a point of some arguments, but both of you dislike fighting and understand what to do to avoid such things. So fortunately, actual arguments are few and far between.
- Haldir doesn’t like PDA. He’s quite professional and private so PDA doesn’t really mix with him. He doesn’t ignore or avoid you in public, just don’t expect big displays of affection because he’s not very comfortable with that. But, if the two of you have spent a lengthy amount of time apart, he’ll hold your hand in public and maybe even give you a chaste forehead kiss because he missed you.
- Haldir is surprisingly passionate, especially after he’s been away from you for a while. His passion can appear a little different though. For example, sometimes he’ll kiss you with desperate fervor and fire, but other times he’ll kiss you slowly and deeply but still with equal passion. His heart is always present in all his actions with you
- Haldir doesn’t drink a lot, but during festivals or other celebrations he’ll sometimes indulge and when he does, all he talks about is you. Haldir will drunkenly ramble about how pretty you are, how intelligent you are, how talented you are, etc etc. Those around him will find it equal parts endearing and annoying. His pale cheeks would be dusted with pink from both alcohol and thoughts of you.
- Haldir would be super happy with getting domestic with you. He loves those simple moments; getting groceries from the market, going shopping for your individual hobbies, doing the laundry, cooking. Haldir loves to be domestic with you.
- Haldir is very attentive to your needs. He may not say it or outwardly express it, but you can tell by his actions. If you’re sad, your favorite snacks will appear out of nowhere. If you ran out of supplies for a hobby or finished a book, new supplies or a new book will show up on your nightstand without a word. Whatever it is you need, Haldir notices and quietly takes care of it. He may not always be able to do it since he’s quite busy as Marchwarden, but when he has the chance, he takes care of all your needs.
- Haldir feels like he’s always falling in love with you. There will be moments when the two of you are together and he’ll just take you in and get that sensation of falling in love all over again. He’ll never get sick of it either, it’s one the greatest joys of his day.
- Haldir loves you so much, it’s a quiet kind of love but it’s strong all the same. He does everything he can to make sure you know that everyday. One of the things he’s proudest of in his life is his relationship with you. He prays to Eru that he’ll be with you until the end of Arda, so long as you’ll have him.

Hi could i request the following prompts by @imaginexhobbit please.
Imagine Haldir being shocked that you have an interest in him, because he's nothing like other elves.
Imagine comforting Haldir after he is taunted for having a bulkier build than most elves
Ehe...Look at me, writing at 11pm when I should be getting ready for bed cause I have my stinky stupid office job tomorrow to go do office job things at.
For proper credit for the idea- Prompts by @imaginexhobbit
I hope you enjoy it, Nonnie!
The sun left the atmosphere sweltering, sweat beading down the back of your neck as you put away your training sword. Hearing a commotion, you raised a brow, head lifting and turning to look behind you to see the new recruits still in the training pit, laughing and making mocking gestures.
“What the hell..” You muttered, leaning over the railing to watch them closer.
“I am captain Haldir, a bulky dwarf,” You could faintly hear one say, your breath hitching as you saw Haldir coming up the steps you just came up.
“More like an orc!”
If you heard it, then surely he must have as well.
“Alright new recruits, that’s enough!” You shouted down, glaring at them. “If you want to stay on the guard then you will learn to respect your captain!”
“Haldir-” You turned to talk to him, to give him encouragement.
But your words were too late, as Haldir didn’t even acknowledge them, instead choosing to brush passed you to put his own sword away and exiting the training area without so much as a murmur slipping out of his lips.
“Damn it,” You huffed under your breath, ignoring the urge to go bathe and instead followed after him.
“Haldir, wait,” You called after him, jogging to catch up to him.
“Leave me alone, please,” Haldir muttered, not stopping to look at you but his pace did slow to allow you to walk next to him, contradicting his words.
“Unfortunately, I can’t do that,” Your words made him pause, a furrow in his brow as he turned to look at you. Not quite glaring, definitely not smiling either.
“Why?”
“Because I care.”
“You are dismissed, (Y/n),” Haldir rolled his eyes, moving to keep walking. Reaching out, you grasped him by his upper arm and pulled him back.
“Not as a captain, Haldir,” You made your intentions clear.
“What they said was rude, and hurtful, I want to make sure you’re alright,” You stated, watching the way he analyzed your face.
“You shouldn’t care, after all, they were right.” Haldir sounded resigned, expression blank, but his eyes- oh his eyes. They swirled with the hurt and the pain at the words of his underlings.
“No they weren’t, don’t say that,” You nearly begged, grabbing him by the hand.  “They aren’t right, Haldir, you are not some bulky orc-ish creature. You are handsome, yes you are slightly larger but that is simply more to love and to treasure.”
Haldir scoffed, shaking his head, and pulled his hand out of your grasp. You tried to ignore the sting in your chest as he did so, watching as he clenched his fist.
“To love? To treasure?” He laughed, a bitter and dark one deep in his chest. “There’s nothing to be treasured about me.” He glared at the ground. “Nor to love.”
“I think there is,” You gently coaxed, reaching for his hand again.
“Tell me, then, tell me who would care for me the way I so strongly desire?” He snapped his eyes to yours, angry tears forming on his face.
You remained silent, heart aching at the way he began to break down in front of you.
“You care so much?” Haldir spoke again, maintaining eye contact. “Then tell me. Who?”
“Me, I do,” You finally chose to say, disregarding your urge to keep quiet about your affections.
“Lies,” He shook his head, “You’re saying this to make me feel better about myself-”
Grasping his hand tightly in yours, you pulled it to hover over your heart where it was beating nearly out of your chest.
“I care for you. Deeply, truly,” You whispered, feeling his palm flex outward to truly feel your heartbeat beneath his hand.
“I’m not like other elves… You shouldn’t want me,” He whispered, as if to himself, trying to convince himself that you were not truly in love with him.
“I wouldn’t ever want anything more than your affection, Haldir,” You muttered.
It felt like this was the first time he was truly seeing you, truly hearing you.
“I love you,” You spoke soft, but the way he lit up made your heart jolt, the tempo in your chest picking up and he felt it, making a grin pull on the corners of his lips.
“Say it again?” He requested and you couldn’t help but indulge him.
“I love you, Haldir.”

Opening up the marriage

Word count: 6044

A little surprise at Aragons wedding turns into something spicy, as Haldir takes the lead on aidding to the readers hidden wishes.
This is part of a fanfiction I write on Wattpad. Its called "the prophecy of the elven warrior" A fanfiction dealing with Visha the main character drawn between the Commander of the marchwardens and the prince of Mirkwood. Feel free to check it out, as I am almost finished with updating it. 😉🥰

This contains content of BDSM, a threesome and lots of filthy smut

gwanûr = brother
gîl nin = my star
malen = yellow
caran = red
ithil = moon
“You know, that Legolas is watching you since the beginning of this dinner?” Haldir asked, directly at my ear, to avoid the other elves to hear our conversation. I didn’t turn my head towards him and just nodded: “Do you wish me to talk to him?”
Haldir shook his head. “No. I know, that you already told him, to not take any further actions, that might ruin your friendship. But I can also see, how much you desire each other.”
“That’s not true!” I turned around a frown on my face. “I only love you, herven. There is no other man than you.”
He smiled at my words. “I never doubted that, my starlight.”
“Then why are you saying such horrendous things?”
“Because I have eyes.” He simply answered pulling me into a tight hug. “I love you and I would never restrict your decisions.”
I tried to look at him, but he kept me to his chest. “Be assured, that I would never act on a simple attraction.”
Now he let go of me, bowing his head once more, a cocky smile on his lips. “I know. But I would.” My face fell white, not sure how to take his words. Did he admit, he had another woman whilst we were married? “Did you…?” I couldn’t bring myself to form the words, fearing if I were to say it, it would turn to reality. Haldir caught on, what I was thinking and was holding back a laughter. “Bereth. Why is it, that this beautiful head of yours sometimes tends to think the worst? Not once in the 60 years of our marriage was I unfaithful.”
I let out a long breath. “Thank God.” Trying to hide my embarrassment, of assuming Haldir would to such things, I took a sip of my wine. He stroked my face. “I simply wanted to tell you, that I have taken action of asking Legolas to join us tonight.”
I nearly choked on the wine. “You what?” My voice was hoarse, jumping into a higher octave, alerting some other elves around us. Lindir, the servant of Lord Elrond approached us, bowing his head. “Is everything alright, my lady?”
Not wanting the situation to become a spectacle I nodded. “Yes, Lindir. Everything is fine. I was just surprised, that’s all.” I put a hand on his shoulder. “Your concern is appreciated, but not needed.”
With a light nod, Lindir bowed and retracted to the edge of the platform. I grabbed Haldir by the arm and pulled out of the room. When I was sure, we were outside of the hearing range, I turned to face him. “Why on earth would you do such a thing?”
“Because you wish for it to happen.” He simply stated not showing any regret on his face. I looked behind him and saw several eyes watching the conversation between me and my husband. “Are they able to hear us?” I asked and Haldir shook his head. I let out a low groan. “I don’t desire Legolas the way you think. You are enough for me. And I am sorry, if I ever made you think any different.”
“You believe, I am purely doing it for you.” He concluded from my reaction.
“Of course, I do! What else am I supposed to expect?” I threw my hands in the air, forgetting I was holding a goblet of wine, nearly spilling it. A large group was now watching us from the higher platform, where the dinner was hosted, but I didn’t care. I put down the goblet and started to walk in circles around the water fountain in the middle of the balcony type of thing Haldir and I fled to.
“I am sorry, for not being as precise as possible in my explanation.” Haldir started. “But I am not solely doing it for you. Don’t take that wrong, but I was thinking about bringing in another person for a long time. And the fact, that you and Legolas share some kind of physical attraction just suited my decision.”
I stopped dead in my tracks. Not knowing what to respond to that, I just stared at him, like a deer would stare at its predator. Slowly he approached me taking my face in his hands. “You don’t have to consent to my request. It was nothing more than a thought, that I let myself take actions on.” Putting my hands over his I smiled at him. “Okay.”
“What?” He clearly was caught off guard by my agreement.
“I said it is okay. Now you made me curious and I want to try it. I trust your love and your decision to not let it ruin our marriage.” I gave his hand a small kiss. “And now tell me, nin herven. What did the poor Legolas answer to your offer?”
Haldir began to smile at the thought it. “I think I frightened him to death. We were training alone late at night and I had him pinned to the floor, when I asked him. I believe he thought I would murder him, for desiring my wife, so him getting offered a night with you, caught him off guard.”
I shook my head. “You had to scare him, didn’t you?” Haldir just grinned a boyish smile. “If I am not mistaken, I am still your husband. The man who promised to protect and love you for eternity. So, excuse my attempt to do so, by simply taking the lead.”
“And you think making Legolas believe he is about to die is achieving that? I am sure the poor ellon will never talk to me again.” I scolded him.
“He consented.”
“What?”
“Legolas consented.” He repeated. I let go of Haldir, not sure if I was to smile or to run off. “He is currently waiting for your approval. So, when you are ready, just ask him.”
“That was unexpectedly simple.” I said, rubbing my face. Taking my goblet, I started to walk back. Haldir at my heels. “Where are you going?”
Pretending it was a mistake, I let my fingers wander over his crotch, forcing a hitched breath out of Haldir. “If I am not mistaken, we have a dinner to attend to. And besides that, I am not drunk enough to have the courage to talk to Legolas.”
A few glasses of wine later, I found myself to be a little tipsy. Glad that I finally grew accustom to the strength of elven wine I was now able to drink it pure and not dilute it with water. A newly grown confidence in my chest, I walked over to Legolas, who was conversing with Lord Elrond. Both were watching Aragon and Arwen dance in the middle of the garden surrounded by other elven pairs.
“You are a great father.” I stated drawing their attention towards me. Lord Elrond tilted his head, looking at me with meaningful eyes. “What do you mean by that, my lady?” I pointed towards the newlywed couple with my head. “Letting your daughter marry the man she loves, becoming a mortal woman. Even if that means you will inevitably lose her. Not many fathers would do such a thing. Especially including the fact, you are born royal.”
“Every father would accommodate the wishes of his daughter.” Lord Elrond contradicted, which led to a half-hearted smile on my side. “My father did not. He married my older sister off to strengthen the diplomatic bond to one of our associates. She was 16 he was 20 when they married. My sister, Inerys, she wrote several letters explaining how he would hit her, and force himself on her, but my father never budged one bit.”
Legolas and Elrond looked at me with wide eyes, as I continued my story.
“One day Inerys had enough. She killed herself and her two sons at the age of 20. Writing a last letter directly to me, telling me, what he did to her and why she ended her misery. A few months later we received a request that this man wanted to marry me as soon as I would be old enough. I was scared to death, the same would happen to me, as I was only 10 years old at that time. So, I showed my mother the last letter I received from my sister. My mother had a big fight with my father that night, saying she would rather run away with me, than give me into the hands of that monster.
I don’t exactly recall, what she did to change the mind of my father, but somehow, she managed to do it. Weeks later we found ourself at war with the nilfgaardian kingdom. Our castle was under siege for days, before they managed to breach the walls and burning it to the ground. My parents were killed that day and I was saved by a man I would gladly call my father, since he did a much better job than my real father. He kept me hidden for years, training me so I would be able to survive and fight. I believe Lady Galadriel told my story to the royal elves?”
Lord Elrond nodded. A sad look in his eyes. “I didn’t know about that part of your live. She didn’t mention it.”
I smiled at him briefly. “That’s because I didn’t tell her. Only Haldir knows. And I would appreciate if it would stay between the four of us. This part of my life lays in the past and must not be evoked anymore.”
“Of course, my lady.” With that Lord Elrond bowed his head leaving me and Legolas by ourself.
I took a large sip of my wine, emptying the goblet and putting it on the table next to me. “I think you owe me a dance, my prince.” Legolas smiled at me holding out his hand. “As you wish, my lady.” I took his hand letting him lead me to the dance floor. I looked around finding Haldirs watchful eyes on my body. I winked at him, signaling what my attempt was and fetched myself a low smile from him.
Letting Legolas turn us around I waited until we were at a rather unfilled part of the dance floor. “I heard; you had a talk with my husband.” I said not looking into his eyes. But based on the fact, that his fingers were twitching at my hip and grasping my hand tighter, I figured he knew very well, what I meant. He didn’t answer so I decided to push forward.
“I consent to do it.” I simply stated, now watching his face extensively.
His façade fell a split second showing both fear and desire. “You must not pressure yourself, Visha. I am not in a position to claim such thing.”
“You are claiming nothing, Legolas. You have been offered.” I said, ending the dance an pulling him behind towards the exit, calling Haldir on plan with a slight nod.
We got some weird looks from some of the elves, but as soon as Haldir joined our sides, the looks were gone. I cuddled into the arm, that Haldir offered as he led us through the paths of Imraldis (Rivendell in common tongue). Legolas looked like he was still evaluating the offer. I tried to ease his mind: “You don’t have to do it, mellon.” I said using the elvish word for friend wisely to state our relationship. “If you feel like it would change the dynamic of our friendship, you are free to leave.”
We finally reached the small guest Talan, where Haldir and I were staying. Legolas’ wasn’t that far off, so nobody really thought something about him accompanying us. “That’s not what I am worried about.” Legolas swerved entering the room. “Then what is troubling you?” I asked, letting go of Haldir and grabbing Legolas hands to give him some sort of security. He started to stutter: “Its… I have... I have never been this intimate with a woman before.”
“Oh.” Taking a few steps back I turned around to seek help from Haldir, but he just shrugged his shoulders. Great. “I simply thought you would have done such things already; you know based on your age.”
Legolas let out a small laugh. “Yeah, I am a late bloomer, I know. But the woman I believed to love fell for a dwarf back in the day when we were taking Erebor back from Smaug.” He just stood there looking to the floor, probably waiting for our rejection. But I decided different: “I don’t care about your experience, as long as you are comfortable with it.”
Haldir stepped in, putting his hands on my shoulder. “Besides that, I can teach you.” He had a dark and dominant look on his face. Legolas visibly gulped, his Adam’s apple bobbing in his throat. “Okay.” His voice was shaky, but it was obvious that he was persistent.
Haldir took of his cloak and looked at Legolas with a soft look he usually saved for me. “I am honest with you, gwanûr*. I am as dominant with Visha in the bedroom as I am with my soldiers, don’t mistake my domineering demeanor as callousness. It is simply our relationship dynamic. Do you want me to lead you through it, or do you wish to reign free on her behalf?”
Legolas eyes twitched between me and my husband, unsure what to say. I gave him a warm smile. “I think he needs to see it, herven.”
As soon as I said the words Haldirs behavior changed. “Take off your clothes. Keep the undergarments.” He commanded not looking at me. I did as I was told, kneeling besides my husband awaiting his next order. Facing Legolas, he asked: “So, how do you want to continue?”
“I think I need a little bit of guidance, since it is my first time. But I do not wish to be treated like a lesser being.” He answered.
“That’s not what this is.” I corrected his assumption. “It is merely a way for us both to fulfill our desires. Haldir does not view me as an object in his possession.”
“I do not?” Haldir chimed in clearly teasing me.
“Stop it, you menace.” I scolded him, earning a light tuck on my hair, eliciting a moan from my lips.
Haldir pulled me into a stand. “Is this the way to speak to me?” He asked and pushed me onto the bed. The air was knocked out of my lungs on impact and I didn’t have much time to settle, before Haldir was next to me. Leaning himself on the headboard, placing me between his legs. Out of reflex, I snuggled into his warm embrace, spreading my legs to give him more access.
“Such a good little girl.” He praised me, stroking my body. Legolas was still standing in the middle of the room, unsure what to do. “Come here.” Haldir called out towards the younger elf. Slowly Legolas was making his way onto the bed, like Haldir leaving his cloak and boots on the end of the bed. Kneeling between my legs, he waited for the next command.
“Kiss him.” Haldir pushed me towards Legolas. I got onto my knees as well and leaned in to kiss him, not before making sure he gave his consent. And then I crashed my lips on his. He tasted like wine and some fruits. Kissing me unbelievably soft compared to my husband. With the caution you would use on a scared animal, Legolas put his hands on my hips gripping onto them as if they were his lifeline.
I felt the bed shuffle under Haldirs weight, as he approached me from behind. In an instant Legolas backed away, giving in on the ever so present claim, my husband held over me. But I pulled him back in, deepening the kiss we were sharing, eliciting a low moan from him. Haldir had started to loosen the strings of my undergarments covering my breasts.
Once they fell to the bed, his hands were roaming over my body and he placed sweet kisses on my neck. Playing with my nipples, he sucked deep marks on my neck, making me a moaning mess in Legolas grip. He pushed his hand down and into my panties. “Look at that. Already so soaking wet. And we haven’t even started yet. What are we going to do with you, my little starlight?” Pulling me back by my hair, Haldir ended the kiss between Legolas and me, setting me once again between his legs.
He started to take my panties off, leaving me bare to Legolas eyes, forcing my legs apart with his strong thighs. “Look at her, gwanûr. Isn’t she beautiful?” Legolas eyes were trained on my body, taking in every inch of me.
“What do you want to do?” Haldir asked him. “Do you want to fuck her? Taste her? Watch me making her cum?”
Legolas eyes shot up to meet Haldirs, clearly irritated, by his use of words. “I… I want to taste her. But I don’t know how.” He answered once again looking down on me. Haldir hummed in gratitude. “Do you hear that, meleth? Do you want Legolas to make you cum? Teach him how to treat a lady?”
“Yes.” I mewled trying to close my legs for some sort of friction.
“Touch her.” Haldirs command was a low growl and Legolas obeyed without a second thought. “Push a finger inside of her and curl it upwards.” He instructed further. The intrusion of Legolas cold finger made me squirm in Haldirs arms, His movements were gentle and careful, setting a slow pace making me anticipate more. “Please… I need more.” I cried out.
Legolas added another finger, not leaving me out of his sight. And then he lowered himself down onto my core, looking at Haldir for help. Who was more than willing to give him that. “You want to find her clit. It’s a little pearl peeking out on top of her folds. Licking and lightly sucking on it will do the trick.”
And he did exactly that. It didn’t take him long to find my sweet pearl. Licking and sucking on it like it was sweet little candy. I felt the tension rise in my core, pressing myself further into Haldirs chest. Groaning at the feeling of his uniform, I tucked on it. “Let me feel you, herven.” I pressed out between shaky moans. Legolas was a natural, surely, he must have read about that topic, or at least talked with someone.
I felt Haldir shuffle behind me, struggling to get his clothes off. Leaning forward as much as possible I enabled him to somehow shimmy out of his shirt and pants, leaving him bare chested in his underwear. As soon as my back touched his chest again, I could feel his hard cock pressing into me His whole body radiated heat, calloused hands stroking over my sides, my breast, toying with my nipples. Between my legs, Legolas hit my sweet spot, making me clamp down on his fingers and arching my back. Haldir was just fast enough, to catch my hips from crashing into Legolas face.
He hummed in satisfaction. “She likes that, gwanûr.” Instead of answering, Legolas did the same movement again, fetching a moan from my lips. The tension in my stomach was on the edge of snapping. I could feel the juices leaking out of my core, sense the way Legolas was lapping them up, moaning at the taste of it.
“Please, Legolas. I am close.” It was the first time; I directly spoke to him. His eyes snapping up to meet mine. I could see, how me moaning his name affected him, spurred him on to make me orgasm. I let my hands intertwine with his silvan locks, tugging on them. His low growl sending shivers down my spine. “Oh God, yes!” I cried out.
“Let go, gîl nin*. Cum for us.” Haldirs rough, breathy voice, combined with Legolas devouring my sex, I was pushed over the edge. My back arched, legs trembling, hands tugging on his hair, I came with a load moan. “Fuck!” I cried out, chest raising at my increased breathing speed.
Slowing his movements Legolas helped me down from my high. My brain was to mushed, to really notice, I was shifted in my position. I found myself now laying on my back, head hanging off, of the side of the bed. Haldir was kneeling besides me, holding my head up, stroking my cheek. “Do you want to go in full headspace, starlight?” He cooed. I hummed.
“What’s a headspace?” Legolas asked, watching the interaction closely. Haldir smirked at his words. “Watch and learn, mellon. But first take her.”
“Take her?”
“Fuck her. Ruin her. Whatever you want to call it.” Haldir repeated, a low smile on his lips. Then he looked down on me. “Tell me, gîl nin. Do you want Legolas to fuck you?”
I didn’t answer, instead, I spread my legs wider. He hummed in approval. “Good girl. Make him cum for me, would you? Show him what a filthy little slut you are.” I nodded eagerly, hearing Legolas shuffle out of his clothes. I felt the bed dip under his weight, not being able to detach my eyes from my husband. He gripped my neck, putting light pressure on the sides, while Legolas inched his cock into my core.
“Such a good girl.” Haldir hummed in my ear. “Taking Legolas so well.” Loosening his hand he allowed two breaths, before he shut it down again. Legolas stayed immobile for a moment, cursing under his breath at the feeling of my twitching walls. I was still sensitive from the previous orgasm. His cock was average sized with a thick shaft stretching my walls with a sweet tang of pain.
“Before you start. There are two important things. When I tip her into headspace, we use safe words. They are important for our, especially her, safety. First, we have malen* it means she needs a break. Simply just stop what you do, let her regain her senses and ask, if she wants to continue. Second one is the most important. It is caran*. When she uses it, you stop what you are doing and let go of her. Doesn’t matter what you do, or how it feels. You end it right there. Also, when I call it off, you stop, understood?”
Legolas nodded looking between me and Haldir. “Good. You can use those words like her, if you feel like it is too hard for you, or if you are uncomfortable with the whole setting. Because what I am going to do to her might seem, like it crosses lines, or her reaction might look like she doesn’t want it. But as long as she doesn’t use her safe words, she is fine with it.”
He let go, of my neck, allowing me to breathe. With a nod he commanded Legolas to start. At first, he set a slow gentle pace, testing mine and his limits. Haldir smothered my face and my neck with kisses, pushing two fingers inside my mouth. I choked as he forced them down my throat, clamping down on Legolas cock, which made him splutter a shaky fuck. “Take it, meleth nin. You are going to be a good girl and take what I give you, understood?”
“Yes.” I answered, falling into my headspace. A sharp slap on my cheek ripped me back to reality. “Yes, what?”
“Yes, Commander.” A loud moan stumbled over my lips, as Legolas hit my sweet spot in the right angle. “Please, I need more.”
“Look at her begging, mellon. Isn’t she beautiful, like that?” Haldir had a feisty grin on his lips, as he spoke to Legolas. The other ellon let out a low grunt.
“You want him to ruin you, meleth? Beg for it. Show him, what a good girl you can be.”
“Please, Legolas. I need…” Another sharp slap interrupted me.
“Did I allow you to use his name?” Haldirs voice wasn’t loud, but full of dominance.
“No. I am sorry, marchwarden.” I answered feeling tears forming in my eyes. “Please, my prince. I need more. Take me. Please. I want you to fuck me harder.”
Holding on to my hips, Legolas set a faster, brutal pace, fucking me at his liking. “Oh, God.” I moan, closing my eyes at the intense feeling.
“Does it feel good?” Haldir asks getting on his knees and pushing down his pants, throwing them carelessly into a corner. “Open up, sweet star.” Obediently I open my mouth and he pushed his cock into my mouth. My eyes rolled back, loosening the muscles in my throat to let him in deeper.
“Fuck, yes, meleth.” He grunted. “Taking us both so well. God, you are so beautiful like this. So pretty with Legolas stuffing your little pussy and my cock down your throat.” He gripped my neck tightening his hands slowly, to feel him stretch my throat. I gulped around his cock and at the same time clamped down on Legolas. Which got both of them to moan at the sudden feeling. My drool was dripping down my cheeks, mixing with my tears. The only thing I could sense was the musky scent of sex and their individual notes.
Legolas was now completely losing it at the scene in front of him. How my lips were wrapped around Haldirs cock, my muffled moans the way my walls shivered with every movement. He was pounding into me like his life depended on it, chasing his own release.
A tight knot was, once again, forming in my stomach. With the way I wriggled under their hands, Haldir sensed I was getting close, spurring me on: “Go on, starlight. Come around his cock. Soak him with your juices.”
His words pushed me over the edge. A muffled cry escaped my lips, as Haldir pushed himself so deep, my nose was touching his pelvis. I was arching my back, gripping the bedsheets tightly, to ground myself.
“I am close.” Legolas whispered. A question hanging from his words.
“Cum inside of her!” Haldir ordered. Still fucking my mouth in a slow sensual way, that wouldn’t make him cum, but rather rile him up for more. He only did it, when he wanted to really ruin me. And seeing me being putty in another man’s hands probably tugged hard on his self control. Legolas was now rutting into me like an absolute madman, searching his release. Soon I could feel him twitch inside of me, making me clench down on him out of reflex. That probably made him cum. Thick robes of cum pulsating into my core, coating my walls in warm seed.
He let out a distorted moan, sinking back on his ankles. Sweat covered his whole body, his arms were shaking and if he were to stand up, he would have collapsed. His eyes were trained to the spot between my legs, where I could feel his cum trickle out.
“Everything alright, gwanûr?” Haldir asked Legolas, a slight concern hiding behind his question.
“Yes, I am alright. It was… It was amazing.” Legolas whispered, obviously in disbelief of what just happened. Haldir pulled back, leaving me now completely empty. I huffed in disapproval.
“Its alright, starlight. You want Legolas to watch us?” My face lit up at his question.
Nodding to the head of the bed, Haldir signaled Legolas to scoot over. “Come here, little one.” He called out for me. Standing at the end of the bed. I crawled over to him laying myself down, but he shook his head. “Uh uh. Get on your knees. We don’t want the prince to miss your pretty face, don’t we?”
Obeying his command, I turned around and got on my knees, ass up high in the air. He began stroking my back, admiring the view. “Fuck.” He let out a hoarse breath. “Such a beautiful pussy, dripping with cum. I want to make it mine. I want to mark you. Are you going to let me do that, sweet star?” I moaned into the bedsheets, raising my ass even higher, desperate for his touch.
But he did not satisfy my needs. Instead, he gripped my hair pulling me up to him. “Stay here.” He turned around grabbing his belt from the floor. “Give me your hands.” I obeyed him, without thinking. Once my arms were tied up, he yanked them over my head securing them on the crossbar of the bed.
“I’ll not take advantage of your trust. Submit to me, and I will feed every need you have, cherish you to the end of time.” He promised, before walking up behind me.
My gaze was now locked on Legolas who was sitting at the head of the bed, watching the scene unfold before his eyes. The hunger in his eyes was unbearably strong, raking over me, watching his cum drip out of my folds.
Haldirs hands started to slide over my body, lightly teasing my nipples, dipping into my core every now and then. Kissing down my throat nipping on my shoulder. I gasped at the sudden stab of his bite and I could feel blood run down my shoulder. His calloused hands gripping my hips tightly. “I want to hear you, meleth. Don’t hold back. Show the world what pleasure I can bring you.”
“Yes, marchwarden.” I moaned, falling deeper and deeper in the abyss of arousal.
He steps back once again. “Count.”
I couldn’t comprehend what he meant, before something snapped against my back. “One!” I breathed out, still trying to stay as silent as possible. Another whiplash hit me. “I said don’t hold back.” He growled.
“Two!” I cried out louder than before. Striking me harder, I heard Haldir sight in deep pleasure behind my back. “Three.” The pain was now subsiding into pleasure. Another hit, this time on my ass. “Four.”
“You will feel the things I did to you with every step you take, every muscle you move. You will think about me and how good I made you feel.” He snarled, striking my ass with so much force I jolted forwards. “Five!” Now I had tears forming in my eyes.  Heat was pooling between my thighs, running down my legs.
“Tell me, darling. Does this pleasure you?” Another sting across my back.
“Six! Yes, Commander!” I was now a total crying mess. Tears running over my face, slick dripping from my cunt. I opened my eyes to see Legolas watch with a mixture of horror and need, his cock getting hard again.
My knees were shaking and I was only being held up, by the ties on my wrists. Haldir was obviously not going to have mercy with me. Again and again, he whipped me, making me count to ten. By that I was completely fucked over. Red lacerations over my back and ass, eyes swollen from tears, cunt dripping from pleasure. He let the item in his hand fall to the ground detaching me from the crossbar.
I dropped into the bedsheets between Legolas legs. Haldir was behind me, raising my ass up in the air. Teasingly he rubbed his tip between my folds. “What do you want, meleth nin?”
“More. I need more.” My head was spinning and I had trouble forming straight sentences.
“Use your words, darling.” He teased a low growl in his voice.
“Inside!” I stutter. “Want to be filled by you.”
He groaned at my words, pressing me into the bed, while pushing into me and pulling out before he even stretched me the littlest amount. “Please… Please I need you, herven. I can’t… I need you to fill me up, marchwarden. Make me feel good, please.” I whimpered pushing back, trying to get him to enter me. Haldir hummed at my words. And then without warning he fully plunged into my core, pressing my head down to cease my cry.
Although Legolas already stretched me, taking Haldir was a different story. He was bigger than Legolas and didn’t care if I would be able to take him. I felt like I was split in half, but it felt so good. The way he rutted into me, setting a brutal pace, made me see stars. His hand was gripping my hair, pulling me up. One arm around my waist, the other on my throat.
“My pretty little ithil.* I am going to ruin you, fuck you as hard and long, as I want to. And you will take it.”
“Yes, Commander.”
He let me fall forward where I caught myself on my tied up hands. Legolas was slowly stroking his cock, breathing heavily. I was complete gone, trusting Haldir with my whole body. He was my rock, my protector, the love of my life and right now I felt as good as I ever had. My body was aching from pain and pleasure.
I felt another orgasm approach me. “Please, Commander. I want to cum.”
“Again? You are a little cock drunken slut, aren’t you?” He teased. “Wanting to cum over and over. What makes you think you deserve it?”
“Please. I was a good girl.” I whined.
“Yes, you were.” His voice was like dripping honey. “Can you hold on a little bit longer, for me?” He started caressing my body, sending shivers down my spine.
“Yes, I can. Everything for you, marchwarden.”
Haldir didn’t answer me, but I felt his cock twitch at my words. He was close. Grabbing me by my hip and pushing my face down into the bed, he leaned over me. Smothering my back with kisses. I flinched every time his lips touched a laceration, but it felt so good at the same time, that I was not sure to handle it any longer.
But for my luck, Haldir couldn’t either. “Cum, my starlight. Let go one last time.”
Nearly on command the coil in my stomach snapped and I let out a strangled moan. Behind me Haldir hissed and I felt his release pump into me. He held me in this position, before he signaled Legolas to get up. “Go fetch a wet cloth. We need to clean her up.”
I felt Legolas leave the room, but I didn’t care. The little bit of brain that I had left, was completely trained on Haldir and his actions. Slowly he pulled out and turned me on my back.  I stuck out my arms for him to free my hands and when he did, I reached out, tugging him to my chest. His weight on my body, released another wave of emotions, making me cry.
“You are safe, meleth nin. Everything is alright. You did good. I will protect you.” He repeated the words over and over again, until Legolas came back from the bathroom. “I am going to clean you up now, okay?”
I nodded letting go of him. The cold cloth made me flinch, but it felt good to get the sticky mixture of cum and slick from my body. When he was finished, he cleaned himself and handed the cloth back to Legolas who just put it on the counter, slipping into his clothes. “I am good I already washed myself in the bath.”
At his words I turned to face him, realizing just now, he was there. “Thank you.” I breathed out. He smiled at me kneeling down next to the bed. “Don’t thank me, my lady. I have to thank you. Trusting me so much, to let me be a part of this.” I gripped his hand, bringing it up to my face. “Will it change something?” I asked afraid of the answer. “I don’t long for you like a lover would, but I will protect you at all costs. I will always be your friend. And as long as you wish me to be part of your life, I am.” He answered. I closed my eyes in relieve. “Good. Because I really like you.” I yawned at the end of my sentence.

Oh that's cruel, Mellon. Instead of 50 words, have a Drabble that's the only written (non-work) piece that I've produced in since like January started I think? Apologies for the rust:
"Pardon me?" You say, looking up in confusion at the beautiful and unnecessarily tall ellyth standing in front of you holding onto a decorative plate stacked high with homemade pastry.
She lets out a breath. "Last Summer season, I noticed you." She quickly follows up with, "That is to say that the season you last spent here, I noticed your fascination with lemons. You bought many of the vendors' inventory."
You blink, both embarrassed and curious. "The last Summer Faire I spent in Lórien was five years past."
The tips of her ears flush the color of your Naneth's pink garden roses and you can't help the soft smile at the corner of your lips.
"Have you perfected this recipe since then?" You ask, teasing gently.
"I have." She responds steadily, her eyes finding yours.
You falter at her sincerity. You don't know this elf, but you are suddenly and desperately wish to.
"Are you Silvan?" You blurt out then silently berate yourself. Of all the ways to confirm lineage and *this* was the way you chose. Erestor would set you to read the whole etiquette section again if they knew.
She smiles, a quick and warm thing. "I am."
You take a breath and step close to her, heart pounding in ways you are not yet accustomed to as you unwrap the pale sun-scarf from around your shoulders and set it around hers.
"Until we meet again." She says softly, hair catching in the sun as she inclines her head down toward you.
You take the plate from her hands and steps back, your eyes never leaving hers.
"Until we meet again." You murmur.
As you make your way back to your grandparents' talan, you're reminded of the riddle your Adar had imparted to you before the journey:
"Summer's golden fruit will bear you an everlasting love."

When you wish upon a star while Stargazing
Summery: Haldir walks in on the reader stargazing and decides to join them, and a confession is told.
Pairing: Haldir x Reader
Disclamer: I couldn't find much out about the constellations of middle earth so it may have some inaccurate facts in this.
taglist: @eunoiaastralwings (LOOK I FINALLY CAME UP WITH A HALDIR IDEA ON MY OWN :) YAYAYAYAY)
Tumblr media
Haldir hmmed as he got to a clearing in the forest he paused as he saw you leaned against a tree and looking to the sky.
"It is a nice night tonight" Haldir said making his present known, he was right, it was a warm night and the sky was clear perfect for star gazing, you hmmed in agreement.
"Join me" You said to him, he had walked all this way here you were not going to make him walk all the way back having just got here and Haldir knew that so he sat besides you and leaned his back on the tree.
You both sat in silence enjoying the peace mixed the the occasional sound of the crickets, Haldir soon remembered you had a special interest in stars, he had never paid much mind to them whereas you had studied them extensively, you have travelled to every corner of middle earth just to study the ones in the sky which you could not see from other places, until you eventually settled in Lothlórein as you said it had your favourite stars although you did talk about a lot of the ones in Imladris.
"Whats that star" Haldir questioned you turned your head to him and then in the direction he was pointing you smiled
"That star is part of that constellation, which makes Soronúmë, or the eagle of the west although it is considerably east, but it travels across the sky I saw it in Imladris when I visited once, Varda created it before the awakening of the Elves, and it is always facing to the west although above Gondor it has the illusion it is facing eastwards" You carried on talking about the constellation before pointing out others to Haldir, he glance to you, a small smile crept onto his face as he watched you talk, the stars gave you an enchanted glow to you as if you were made of starlight yourself.
"Haldir look a shooting star, make a wish" You said pointing to a moving star
"What" Haldir questioned
"It's a tradition within the race of men to wish on a shooting star, of course it is ludicrous but it's sweet and has grown on me, they also say it's bad luck to say your wish out loud" You said as Haldir watched the star.
He did humour you however by wishing on the star that one day you would become his.
"What did you wish for" You questioned
"It's bad luck to say your wish aloud" Haldir said back to you making you laugh you threw your head back laughing, Haldir's smile grew.
You sighed smiling at Haldir as you leaned back on the tree, "it's only a superstition of man" you said
"And yet you brought it up" Haldir said as he looked at you, you smiled back at him subconsciously letting your head rest on his shoulder, you ignored him stiffing at the contact your hand brushed over his.
"I'll tell you my wish" you said to him, Haldir hmmed as you nudged him.
"I thought that was bad luck, or at least to the race of men" Haldir said with a laugh, you had never seen or heard him laugh before, he was always so stoic and aloof, distancing himself from everyone, maybe it was because of a sense of rank or he just wasn't comfortable with large social interactions.
You liked his laugh it was deep and melodious, it was perfect just like everything about him, but now looking back on it, Haldir had never been as stoic or aloof around you, his brothers teased that he liked you but you never believed them but now you though deeper into things, maybe they were right, he always went out of his way to help you, he showed you a side he didn't show to anyone not even his brothers, this side him laughing and smiling like this and taking things so light heartedly was for your eyes only, you had never seen him act like this with anyone else.
"You seem distracted are you alright" Haldir asked tilting his head in concern, you really did enjoy your private moments with the Marchwarden even if they were rare.
The reflections of the stars on his hair and cloths gave him an ethereal, a strand of hair had dropped from were it was tucked behind his ear, you reached your hand out to tuck it back, only coming to your senses again when Haldir took your wrist, you sighed, your intent to touch his hair was clear to see and even touching an elf hair was an intermate act.
"I'm sorry" you said looking away from him, he probably didn't like you, his brothers just got your hopes up, you remembered what they had said to you when you had come around to give Rúmil back the Quiver you had fixed for him, ever since you had settled in Caras Galadhon you had became the master-craftsman, as the last one returned to Imladris as his wife was giving birth.
"Y/N, hello, what can we do for you, are you looking for Haldir" Orophin had said as you walked down the path to their Talan he was sitting on the wooden rail of the porch, Rúmil was however sharpening his sword sitting on the step.
"No, I am not Orophin, I have came to return Rúmil, his Quiver, as I have fixed it for him" you returned as you pulled the new quiver out of the cloth you used to carry it there.
"Amazing Craftsmanship as usual Y/n, you really would think you are from the line of Fëanor with this, but you never do house visits are you sure you don't want to catch Haldir's eye, I heavily regret to inform you Haldir is on patrol" Rúmil said
"I was not, I was coming to tell you to stop being so reckless and then I wouldn't have to repair your equipment unless you break it just to tease about your elder brother, and I assure you I am not in any shape or form related to Fëanor" You returned to the Ellon who had taken the quiver from you his twin snickered in the background, you had somewhat lied, you kinda where related to him due to your father Lord Elrond, but no one apart from your grandparents here knew that.
"Come on Y/n, Haldir loves seeing you, he is utterly in love with you, Compare how he acts when you are around to when you are not together " Orophin said Rúmil nodded in agreement with his twin
They wouldn't pull that sick of a prank right, they pulled pranks but they wouldn't tease your feelings would they, you felt a hand on your cheek.
"Y/n were you listening to me" Haldir questioned you looked to him.
"I'm sorry what did you say" you asked Haldir let out a nervous laugh and removed his hand and shuffled back.
"It was nothing, it doesn't matter" Haldir said rubbing his neck awkwardly, he stood up.
"It's getting Late, and I have Patrol early tomorrow, may I walk you home" Haldir asked holding out his hand, you took one last look at the sky to see grey clouds were covering the stars, you took his hand and stood with his assistance, and you both started walking back through the trees and to the path, not many people knew of that spot, you had found it when you were out for a walk lost in your mind and Haldir after much searching due to Lord Celeborn wanting you had found you.
As you reached the path the Valar had not answered your prayers and it started raining almost in mourning you both had ignored each others moves and been so oblivious, Haldir cast his cloak over your head without a word, you looked up to him and smiled.
"Thank you but you shouldn't" you said pushing his hand away from holding his cloak up to keep you dry, the small shower soon turned into downpour and you and Haldir ended up running to his Talan as it was closer and he wasn't going to let you make a break for yours, his was on the outer edge of the city near your spot and yours was close to Lady Galadriel's and Lord Celeborn's halls.
"Rúmil and Orophin are on patrol until the day after tomorrow" Haldir said, great it was just you and him, you almost wished the twins were here so it would be less awkward.
"I feel bad for them having to stay out in this weather" you said looking outside were the few remaining elves were running to cover.
"They probably deserve it" Haldir said with a supressed laugh, they had been teasing him constantly ever since he missed your visit about how he liked you and how you liked him back. Haldir squeezed the water out of his soaked hair, and disapped upstairs after putting on the fire, he came back down changed and with a spare pair of cloths which he handed to you.
"Second room on the left upstairs you can change there I left a towel there for you" Haldir said you did so, the clothes where big on you, you were quite close to the twins builds that this wouldn't be so much of a problem however this was not there clothes, you walked back down stairs.
"Thank you" You said as Haldir wordlessly took your clothes and hung them up next to the fire so they could dry, you sat one one of the seats close to it and held your knees close to your chest resting your head on them.
Haldir cleared his throat to clear the awkward silence "I- about earlier" Haldir started
"I'm sorry I didn't pay attention to you, I was lost in though" You said
"I- it actually does matter at least to me" Haldir said
"I'm listening now" You said
"I can't speak for you, but i enjoy the time we spend together, I am Thankful my brothers have not turned you away, with the amount of time we have spent together, I have enjoyed your company immensely, it took a few hundred years to realise I like you more than a friend, I really like you a lot, you have somehow been able to knock down any wall I have put up or tried to put up, you are always so kind to everyone you meet, you have skills I envy deeply, what I am attempting to tell you is" Haldir paused and finished his walk over to you he knelt Infront of you taking your hand and stoking the back of it subconsciously with his thumb.
"Gi Melin Ithildin-nin" Haldir said, he searched your eyes for signs you would reject him.
"Oh Haldir" You said with a long sigh, Haldir looked down as if your tone had already rejected him
"You do not know how long I have longed to hear those words uttered from your mouth" you said breathlessly, Haldir looked up at you his eyes questioning if he heard you correctly
"Meleth" Haldir breathed in relief, wrapping his hands around your waisted and burying his head in your neck as your arms wrapped around his laughing.
"Will you court me ithildin nin" Haldir questioned
"Of course" you replied his breath tickled against your neck, he came to look you in your eyes, you in response cupped his cheeks in your hands and pulled him in for a kiss, he pulled you into his lap in a hug.
"Guess that superstation of man works" Haldir said making you raise an eyebrow
"I wished that you would become mine" Haldir said
"Maybe it works for Elves" you said
You both eventually fell asleep in the embrace of one another, neither of you heard the door open or the two very noisy brothers walk in
"SHHH" Orophin said to his twin before pointing to you and Haldir asleep in the chair wrapped up in one another, Rúmil took a blanket and pulled it over you both.
"Looks like a lot happened when we where gone" Orophin said, The morning soon came and the twins had hurried out before you and Haldir woke after tidying their mess and folding your now cleaned clothes on the other chair Haldir was the first to awaken he soon realised he had slept in and missed his patrol or his patrol was waiting for him.
"Meleth nin please wake up I need to go" Haldir said you groaned in your sleep clutching onto his shirt tighter, but eventually stirred awake.
"It wasn't this clean when we went to sleep" You said
"I suspect my Brothers got back early and did this" Haldir said as you let him get up, you kissed him before you let him leave.
"Gi Melin, Meleth nin" You said as you hooked his cloak into place as he stood on the doorstep
"Gi Melin Ana" Haldir said turning and kissing you on the forehead.
Maybe wishes on stars do come true.
Elvish Translation:

Ana - to
Meleth nin - my love

A Family Affair
A/N: Caladwen and the Lorien boys pull off a little something special for Orophin’s begetting day! 🩵
Inspired by conversations had with @elithilanor and @glassgulls
Caladwen hummed a soft melody as she carefully bound the wing of her newest patient; a hatchling robin who was blown from his nest in a recent storm. Luckily, Orophin had stumbled upon the chick the next morning while on patrol. She had always admired his big heart for animals… even if he had come knocking frantically on her talan door at the crack of dawn seeking her immediate assistance for it. The healer sighed and stroked her thumb under the bird’s beak gently, listening to him coo as he nuzzled into the touch. Gathering a handful of straw, she lined the bottom of an old woven basket before gingerly setting the bird inside and perching the makeshift nest onto a shelf beside the others.
Oh yes, there were others. Four others to be exact. Five in total now.
Each rainy season, Orophin and his friends took it upon themselves to scour the woods in search of creatures in need of care, making Caladwen an unsuspecting accomplice. She truly did not mind, but this time of year also meant that she had a greater number of elven patients to treat as well, and she was quickly running out of space to store supplies in her office.
“My my. You’ve accumulated quite the menagerie I see.” Rúmil stood in the doorway, shooting her a knowing smirk. “Orophin?”
Caladwen nodded. “They’re really quite lovely to listen to while I work, but surely I can’t keep them here all Winter.”
The ellon nodded and took a seat in the chair opposite her. “Haldir’s platoon got in earlier this afternoon.”
“They’re a week early!” She couldn’t stop the broad smile from lighting up her face.
“Yes. He’s requested I fetch you and send you home at once.”
Her expression faltered a bit. “Is he injured?”
Rúmil’s smirking again. “Nope.”
“But what about the birds? They need to be fed and-“
“I’ll see to that.” He assured, waving her off. It was clear that he knew something she didn’t.
XXX
How right she was. Haldir met her at the door, a bouquet of the last autumn wildflowers of the year in his hand and stew simmering in a pot. They’d eaten dinner together by candlelight, enjoying the comfortable silence as the rain tapped on their windows. Now, the two cuddled under the cover of thick blankets on their couch, hearth ablaze before them and a bottle of wine with two glasses on the coffee table.
“Mm…” Haldir mused from his resting place seated between her knees, leaning back so his head was on her chest. “It has been far too long, meleth nin.”
“Aye…” She agreed, sliding his tunic off his shoulders to expose his toned chest to her eager eyes. “Far too long…”
Catching her stare, Haldir flexed his bicep teasingly. “See something you like?”
“Not nearly enough of it.” She complained, trailing soft, open mouthed kisses down the side of his neck.
“Easy, mela.” Haldir winced as she made contact with a fresh bruise, no doubt a remnant of his most recent tour at the borders.
“Oh, my sweet one…” Caladwen breathed, running her finger tips over the already black and purple abrasion. “I have just the thing.”
Returning to her place behind Haldir a few minutes later, she wrapped her legs around his hips and poured the contents of the bottle she was holding into her palm. The oil smelt like pine trees after a rain and she relished in it.
“Just relax for me, my love…” Caladwen soothed as she began working the salv into his skin, marveling at how easily her slick hands glided over his broad shoulders.
Haldir could feel a protest on the tip of his tongue, but all that escaped his lips was a soft groan and he couldn’t stop his tired eyes from closing.
She pressed soft kisses over his temples as his head lolled back on her shoulder. “You do so much for me… please let me give you this.”
Haldir’s clear blue eyes are warm as he leans up to kiss her.
“It’s Orophin’s begetting day next week, is it not?” Caladwen asks as she caps the oil and places it on the table.
“Aye.” He yawns, nestling his head into the crook of her neck. “I haven’t any concrete plans yet. Maybe dinner and a few rounds of cards. I could make a cherry crumble. He’d like that.”
“Sounds like a good time.” She ran her nails through his hair as she mulled over her next words. “I also had an idea for a gift earlier today.”
As her husband cocked his head to the side in curiosity, she continued. “He’s very passionate about rehabilitating birds, and I thought if he had a few bird houses at his talan, he’d be able to monitor them more closely. Besides, your brothers’ place is closer than my office in the healing halls, so it’d be easier for me to check on them as well.”
Haldir smiled and kissed her palm. “Have I ever told you how much I love you?”

The next day, Haldir and Caladwen met Rúmil at the flet he shared with Orophin, ensuring that the youngest brother would be out all afternoon drilling the new recruits.
The three quickly set about forming themselves into an efficient assembly line. Caladwen was charged with sanding and cutting out the dimensions of the houses from a slab of wood. Then Haldir would piece the structure together before sending it down to Rúmil who painted each one with its own color scheme and floral design.
Haldir brought snacks and the group sang various elven folk songs as they worked, drumming the table to the beat and twirling around the kitchen floor in their socks.
Suddenly, Caladwen inhaled sharply as a sliver of wood embedded itself into her hand.
“Let me see.” Rúmil examined the splinter and grabbed the tweezers, pulling a face of mock horror. “I don’t know Haldir. I think we might have to amputate.”
Caladwen laughed. “Oh stop it!”
He tightened his grip on her wrist as she tried to pull it away. “Don’t distract the healer from his work please. This is a life or death operation.”
She rolled her eyes and turned her head to see Haldir’s cheeky grin.

“And then we shot those orcs with so many arrows, they looked like pincushions when we were through with them!” Orophin exclaimed, his mouth half full of cherry crumble as he laid his next card down on the table.
“We do have one more thing for you.” Caladwen said with a smile, motioning him to follow her out onto the small back balcony of their talan.
Orophin went willingly, his teasing banter about how he was about to beat Haldir at cards cut short with a gasp at the sight before him. Six intricate wooden birdhouses hung from the great malorn branches just above their heads, each one occupied by winged patients.
Caladwen prodded him in the side. “I love you, and your birds, but I need my office back.”
He could only stare in delight as some of the birds flew from one shelter to the next.
“Happy begetting day!” They all cheered at once before Orophin pulled them into a bone-crushing hug. And when Caladwen looked up, she swore she could see a tear in Orophin’s eye.
