Met You At A Cafe
Akaashi x Fem! reader
Warnings: None
Reblogs are appreciated!
Tumblr media
You always loved going to the cafe around the corner from your uni during finals week. It was a calming atmosphere for you to study at.
Today wasn’t any different from any other. After your classes you slung your bag over your shoulder and walked out to start heading to you favorite cafe. Once you walked in, it was packed. There were no more free tables to sit at. The way you frantically looked around for a place to settle made you looked like a lost puppy.
That was until the prettiest guy you’ve ever seen caught your eye. He noticed your gaze and looked up from the book he was currently reading. He realized the situation and quickly motioned for you to sit in the empty seat in-front of him before you got trampled by all the people coming in and out of the cafe.
You scramble to the empty seat and quickly thank him. “Thank you so much! I thought I was gonna get ran over!” You expressed, throwing your head back while stretching your arms out. “It’s no problem.” He replied with a soft smile.
Your heart almost did a flip.
Everything about him was so mesmerizing. His smile, his voice, his eyes, HIS EYES. You could get lost in them for hours.
Suddenly you snapped back to reality and realized it would probably be best if you introduced yourself. “By the way, my name’s Y/n L/n.” “Akaashi Keiji.” The boy responded. “Nice to meet you Akashi!” Your face beamed. It was like your smile suddenly made this foggy day, the brightest it’s ever been all year. Keiji’s face started feeling warm. There’s no way it was because of the weather.
“Ah! I’m so sorry! I’m probably bothering you! Please go back to as you were I’ll try not to disturb you!” You quickly exclaimed, waving both of your hands in-front of you as you apologized. Akaashi chuckled a bit before responding to you. “Don’t worry about it. I don’t really mind the company.” You smiled before your eyes landed on the book he was reading.
“Oh my gosh I’ve been meaning to read that book for the longest time but I can never find it at any libraries or book stores!!” You gushed while he was scribbling something down on the inside of it. “Here have it, I don’t mind.” Keiji said with that heavenly smile spread across his face. “I couldn’t possibly take it from you!” You exclaimed to him, shaking your head rapidly. He explained to you how you don’t have to worry since he has an extra copy at home. Top 10 biggest lies Akaashi Keiji has ever told cough cough.
He didn’t mind though. He didn’t mind giving it to literally the most beautiful girl he’s ever seen. You hesitantly grab the book from him starring at it in awe, looking like you were going to treasure and worship it forever. Akaashi’s face flushed with a pink hue due to how absolutely adorable you looked from the excitement.
Akaashi’s eyes got pulled off of you as he glances at his watch and his eyes widen. “Shit i’m gonna be late for class.” He mumbles under his breath as he quickly gathers all of his stuff. “Please, let me know how you like the book.” He turns back to you as he tucks his chair into the table. “How am I supposed to do that?” You ask with your eyebrow perked up” Akaashi doesn’t respond but instead he flashes you a soft smile before he swiftly walks out of the door.
Your’e left there dumbstruck before you start flipping through the delicate pages of the book that was given to you. You flipped to page 68 of the book and a bright yellow post it stuck to it catches your eye. In pencil, the words written on it read, “Here’s my number and my instagram, please let me know how you liked the book:) - Akaashi” With the highlighted text from the book next to it saying,
“It was like love at first sight, oh how lucky I am to be running into such a girl like you.”
And there you were, sitting alone in a cafe smiling like a love sick idiot with the brightest shade of pink taking over your face.

"Fleeting Flames'
By: @ruedeirdre18
Amidst night's embrace,
I gaze up to the starry sky,
Jealous of their shine.
Their radiance so bright,
While I remain in shadow,
Invisible, unseen.
But then, a realization:
Stars burn out, fade away,
Lost to the abyss.
And so I weep, for even stars
Are but fleeting beings,
And my envy is for naught.

The old man spoke of war.
"Nobody wins a war. What have you won? Nothing. Everyone is still dead. War is just death, and we're supposed to live." The man who said that to me was 97 at the time. A World War Two vet and hero. The President had announced an increase in American troops in Afghanistan, after more than 15 years of war there.
American bombers will waste an entire village – still the moon shines on.
