September's outfit
Wendy @drinkyoursoupbitch is the only thing saving this outfit. Generally very disappointed by JC, they can do better and cuter outfits as they have done for the past 8 months. I will get justice for Wendy 😤

5,6,20 and 21?
Tumblr media
5. Does MC sleep with a stuffed toy?
No. Carewyn honestly grew out of sleeping with stuffed animals rather early -- she stopped at the age of three, not long after Jacob first went off to school. She was much more prone to tucking her Paddington bear into its own tiny "bed" on the windowsill under a spare scarf rather than hugging it herself as she fell off to sleep.
6. Sandwiches or soup?
Carewyn loves soup in the wintertime. Her mum Lane was especially prone to making up a pot of Scotch Broth on cold nights, and Carewyn ends up learning more vegetarian-friendly soup recipes after becoming legal partners with Orion.
20. Who's your MC's non-NPC bestie? Any other MC?
Well, for one, Jules Farrier @cursebreakerfarrier is Carewyn's honorary Slytherin Sister! She could see no one better suited to be Bill's other half. Carewyn also befriends fellow Slytherin Night Rhea @night-rhea through Quidditch friendlies and Ravenclaw Cato Reese @catohphm through baking in the kitchens and both Sarahi Silvers @dat-silvers-girl and Wendy Gordon @drinkyoursoupbitch post-Hogwarts. Carewyn's brother Jacob also becomes close with Sarahi's brother Jacob and Ellie Hopper's family @thatravenpuffwitch, especially her grandfather, Lugh Hopper.
21. Does MC prefer Muggle or Wizard Music?
Ugh, Carewyn would HATE being asked this -- because yes, although she has more favorite Muggle bands than wizard ones, that's largely because the Wizarding World's music scene is so much smaller and less diverse, compared to the Muggle World's! She adores the Weird Sisters and deeply appreciates the talent of artists like Celestina Warbeck, Lorcan D'Eath, and Spellb🔮und, and yet she also loves the Eurythmics, Elton John, Queen, KISS, AC/DC, David Bowie, Carly Simon, and so many others. She hates the thought of having to choose, because if the Wizarding World's music scene could just open themselves up more to different influences the way the Muggle music world has, she thinks they could be just as great.

🐸 I've been thinking about François lately. Did you know so species of frogs can live for 14 years? 🐸
So François could have hidden in Alice's bed her entire school year? She'll be pleased to know that 😏
At least frogs can't buy plane tickets, or he might follow her to NYC to hide once again in her bed...
Alice: What the...? François is in my bed?! In New York City?!
Andre: Kinky! Didn't know you had a French lover.
Alice: No, Andre, not kinky. Talking about Gordon's frog that's once again in my bed! Can frogs swim across oceans?
Andre: Oh! We did get a parcel yesterday with little holes in it that was addressed to you... Let me check... There's a card attached to it. "The little guy missed you so I thought I'd send him for a trip to visit the Big Apple with you. Maybe you could see a Broadway musical together. I'm sure he would like that." And it's signed Wendy Gordon.
Alice: GORDON!!!
Sorry, my mind went a bit overboard with this random fact 😅

Ninjago little sister AU, pt. 3~ Jay's turn!!
This is kinda longer than I thought it would be but I hope yall like it anyways <3
Tumblr media
Hope you all enjoy 🤭🤭
Gwendolyn "Gwen" Gordon
She hates the name Gwendolyn with a burning passion, so most people just call her Gwen.
Jay calls her Lyn most of the time
So basically Gwen had no idea that Jay existed up until the space of time between Possesion and Dotd
(To make space for when Skybound would've taken place)
Gwen was born a year after Jay, and their mom decided to leave Jay at the junkyard because once she divorced Cliff, she wanted to keep them both
Unfortunately she wasn't able to take care of two young children by herself and made the difficult decision to give up her eldest child
She was leaning towards keeping Jay at first, because he was the one who inherited her elemental powers
She ultimately decided to keep Gwen, bear in mind her taking the children wasn't agreed between her and Cliff
So "Johnny Law" (as Kai calls it lmao) got involved and Libber was forced to hand custody over to Cliff, whom Gwen has lived with ever since
Up until he died obviously
Yes he did still die even though Skybound technically didn't happen
Anyways, Gwen grew up in a very fortunate household, though her father was distant due to his job and because he'd much rather hang out with other random women, models, etc
So she's raised by herself, more or less
Nothing really special happened in her life before she met Jay. She goes to school like any normal kid would, she also becomes a fan of the ninja (like any normal kid would)
Just like her dad, Jay was her favourite (but she didn't know he was Cliff's favourite because its his son ofc)
But one thing stood out throughout her younger years and it was that she wished she was taken by her mom, not her dad
Because he never paid attention to her
When Cliff passed away, she got a hold of his will and was a little confused as to why half of it wasn't in her possesion
She wasn't actually living in the mansion when he passed, by this point she had gotten an apartment of her own (with her dad's money 😭)
Meanwhile Jay still gets the letter that his dad died
Only this time he knows it's not Ed, it's Cliff
So Ed and Edna give him the key to his mansion, at the same time, Gwendolyn also makes her way to the mansion and unlocks it first with her spare key
Jay shows up afterwards and explores the mansion for a bit, looking at the places he hadn't already been to, before finding Gwen's old room
Little did he know that she was already in there
When he opened the door, Gwen grabbed a replica of his nunchucks and threatened him lol
Because she was confused as to why there was another human in her dad's house
Jay explained that Cliff is his birth dad and he was left at a junkyard blah blah blah
By this point Gwen realised she was related to the Lightning Ninja and she actually squealed
Poor Jay is so confused but Gwen explains that she's Cliff's kid as well, and she's lived with him for most of her life
So they hug and Jay cries bc hes emotional like that
Gwen takes him on a little tour of the house, she doesn't know that Jay's already been here but anyways
They go back to her apartment and she tells him all about her crappy childhood with basically no father
Jay cries some more because he then realises that his sis had to grow up with essentially no family
He offers to take her to visit Ed and Edna, and she agrees
(Yes this is still happening between DotD and Possesion)
The Walkers feel so bad and basically become her second parents
She still lives in her apartment, but she would come over to visit them a lot during the events of DotD and HoT
So after Wu gets lost in the time stream, Jay and Cole go looking for him
But before Jay leaves, Gwen gets to meet each of the ninja first because her bro wanted to flex that he's got a little sister
Even though she keeps telling him they're only like 14 months apart
When she was introduced to Cole she nearly had a heart attack
She has the BIGGEST crush on this guy
Once he left she wouldn't shut up about him and that really pissed Jay off
She met Nya last, and Jay at first introduced her as one of his friends
Jay left the room they were all in for like 5 minutes and thats when Nya explained that her and Jay were actually dating
Gwen didn't mind but then after that they became besties hehe
Gwen and Jay stay in touch while he's away looking for Wu, and she's the first person he visited when he got back
During that time she had become a Mechanic like Ed
They played video-games for like 3 hours straight
At the beginning of Hunted, Gwen joins the resistance as a mechanic
But she was kinda bitter about the whole thing because at first she thought her bro had been squashed like a bug by Garmadon
He was ok but still after that she just stopped admiring the fact that he was a ninja
She hated the idea of her only birth family left being in constant danger
Ed and Edna tried talking to her but she always refused to visit the monastery
So whenever they wanted to meet up it had to be somewhere in Ninjago City or at the junkyard
Nya texted her when Jay got sucked into Prime Empire, having a literal meltdown
Then the rest of the Ninja (minus Zane) get sucked in
Gwendolyn was pretty pissed off and she stormed right up to the monastery, yelling at Master Wu, who had no idea what the hell was going on
But then Zane explained she was Jay's little sis and she got even more pissed off when he said "little"
She basically cussed him out for letting him get into all this trouble and him being in danger all the time
After Gwen calmed down Wu explained how it was completely Jay's choice but this girl didn't give a shit
She ended up helping them out anyways lol
When Jay returned she gave him a big hug and he got all teary-eyed bc he missed her sm 🥰
Just before the Ninja got the letter about Shintaro, Gwen tried to ask Cole out on a date with Kai and Jay's flirting advice
The silly guy didn't take the hint and she was friendzoned
She considered herself pretty good-looking and approachable, and was severely humbled by this
Jay didn't stop laughing about it until Nya told him to stfu
By the end of crystalized, Gwendolyn is the same age as Jay!
Time for more facts hehe
Gwen has brown hair, but she dyes it blonde
Because of this most of the time no one would think that she and Jay were siblings, but if you look closely, you van definitely tell, mostly because of their freckles
Nya and Gwen both do impressions of Jay whenever he's around as a joke
Nya also told her about the events of Skybound, and she's the only other person who knows about those events
Gwen hasn't got any elemental powers, however she, like Jay, is immune to electrocution (meaning it can't kill them, but it can hurt them)
She she has a lightning ninja-themed hoodie that she wears almost everywhere
Whenever the ninja want to have parties (that aren't under Wu's watch) they always go to Gwen's apartment
This basically means whenever they want to have alcohol at a party they always go somewhere else bc Wu's banned alcohol from the monastery 😭
Whenever Cole talks to her she goes really pink in the face, which Jay always teases her about
If someone ever calls her by her full name, her left eye will start to twitch out of irritation
Ed and Edna bought Gwen this blue teddy bear plushie for her birthday, and from then on she never went to sleep without it
She decided to name the plushie "Jaya" after Nya and Jay 🥰
That's everything!! This one was kinda long heh, also sorry if you find any typos in this-
Lloyd is next, prepare for a tragic ending lol

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Speedy Acquaye, Hirohiko Araki, the 1969 debut of Blind Faith, Beryl Booker, Gwendolyn Brooks, Royce Campbell (Funk Brothers), THE JOHNNY CASH SHOW 1969 TV debut, Georgiana Cavendish, the great Johnny Clegg, Silas Roy Crain (Soul Stirrers), George Ezra, Tal Farlow, William Forsythe, Gordon Gano, Paul Gauguin, Nikki Giovanni, Juan Luis Guerra, Damien Hirst, Nihad Hrustanbegović, Tommy James & The Shondells 1969 “Crystal Blue Persuason” single, Mickey Jones (Man), Tom Jones (great to have met you), Paddy McAloon (Prefab Sprout), Dave Navarro, Liam Neeson, Ken Osmond, Prince, Jack Ryland (3 Dog Night), George Szell, Jessica Tandy, Karl Urban, Clarence White, and the legendary, consummate entertainer, comedian, singer, and actor, Dean Martin. In the late 1940s he broke out in a hugely successful comedy duo with Jerry Lewis, then was seared into public conciousness with Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis, Jr. in The Rat Pack. My respect for Dino grew around his musical choices and catalogue of material. I do several covers of his songs (especially in my care home set) and my original song “Somebody Loves You (Like Dino Said)” has a direct refraction on Dean’s “You’re Nobody Till Somebody Loves You.” In 1955 he had a #1 hit with the folk-doo wop song “Memories Are Made of This.” It became a theme for a book written by his daughter Deana, a singer in her own right whose career intersected with The Monkees and Davy Jones (they also dated back in the day), and there was a phase where she’d sit in on our gigs + she sang with us at Davy’s 2012 New York memorial and a Monkees Convention in 2013. Davy was also close friends with Dino Martin (of Dino Desi & Billy), and when they weren’t driving old army tanks around in the desert, they played pool with Dean at Dean’s home. Davy was quite a comedy quipster, and he often said, “It’s OK to steal my jokes. I just stole them from someone else.” One of his “someone else” sources was Dean Martin.
“Memories Are Made of This” was written by Richard Dehr, Terry Gilkyson, and Frank Miller—as The Easy Riders, they provided the vocal harmonies on Dean’s version. After the 1956 Hungarian Revolution, the song was adapted into the "Honvágy-dal" ('The Song of Homesickness”) and used as an unofficial anthem for refugees scattered around the world. Recorded by Ida Boros, it became a cultural phenomenon and a sign of protest against the communist government. The standard English version has been covered countless times (notably by Little Richard, Johnny Cash, and Cliff Richard & The Shadows), and here’s how I do it in my assisted living home set. Meanwhile, HB Dino—thank you for the hours of humor and song you left us.

Some quick fic. Kevin made breakfast Ossy style.
~~
It wasn’t that Kevin didn’t cook. He’d wandered the galaxy for years, just him and Argit, who had even less experience in a kitchen and in fact according to rumor had not known what one was, and eventually you had to pick up something. He was no Gordon Ramsey, but circumstances and stubbornness had forced him to learn some skills. If anything the loss of his sense of smell to repeated head injuries had just gotten him cooking more- in complete opposition to Manny, who had responded to his own anosmia with a drop in appetite and a loss of passion that he was still trying to regain. Something to do with Osmosian cooking focusing heavily on texture.
And Gwendolyn certainly was seeing that here. Normally if Kevin bothered to make breakfast- rather than just grabbing something out of the freezer, some jerky, some pickles- it was simple shit. Some scrambled eggs, buttered toast, coffee, pickle. Maybe a lemon he ate like a damn orange to her eternal dismay. If she was around and lucky he’d have thrown some turkey bacon or something in a pan to heat up for her. Very basic, not much effort needed, a quick way to get some nutrients in to start the morning, afternoon, whenever the fuck he’d woken up. This time she’d walked in to find
Well, she couldn’t call it a feast because it was only one bowl each, but the sink was a mess of pots, pans, empty Tupperware, etc, that couldn’t all be attributed to last night’s dinner. Kevin set a mug of coffee in front of her as she sat down, carefully eying what was apparently breakfast. Some sort of porridge she couldn’t identify, flecked with little bits of, yes that was definitely fish. Thick slices of corned beef brisket and leftover chicken, seared till crunchy, and a fried egg. Strips of dried seaweed, a pile of pickles, mixed vegetables that looked to be just on the good side, diced apple, and some sort of presumbed seed she didn’t recognize. As she poked at it with her spoon, Kevin was already mixing up and tearing into his own with one of a veritable mountain of halved hot peppers he had at his own seat.
“I take it you had leftovers,” she finally said, throwing in the towel and mixing her own bowl together. She trusted Kevin’s cooking more than her grandfather’s and she still ate that.
“Yeah,” Argit said in time with Kevin’s affirmative grunt around a mouthful. He at least was also using a spoon. “Woke me from a dead sleep to come sniff shit for him.”
“And you came out here,” Kevin pointed out, smile on his face. Gwendolyn snorted.
“Of course he did, there was the chance of free food.” As Argit snapped his teeth at her halfheartedly, she set to work on her meal.
All in all, not the worst thing she’d ever eaten.

The Fellowship set off for the Pass of Caradhras with a very business-like affect. They had a mission to fulfill, so they approached it seriously, as one would think they should. But because of this, it took a little while before anyone really noticed just how little Carewyn had looked Orion in the face, since they’d left Rivendell.
Orion noticed, though. He noticed it from the start, however much he didn’t bring it up to anyone.
It was only once the rest of the Fellowship had devolved into leisurely, amiable conversation that Orion tried to reach out to Carewyn, putting down the stick he’d been using to poke the fire and getting up so as to help her untie the kettle she’d tied to her pony’s saddle.
“May I?” he asked.
Carewyn was taken aback. Then, abruptly, she grabbed the ropes herself, right out of Orion’s hands.
“Oh -- no,” she said very quietly. “I’ve got it.”
She finished untying the kettle and bustled back over to the fire, just as quickly setting about peeling some potatoes. Orion watched her go, his frown deepening that bit further. Then he slowly walked back over to the fire, settling down on the stone beside her as she worked.
“May I help you peel those?” he offered. “Two sets of hands could do the job faster.”
Carewyn looked up, startled.
“Yes, but...I can more than manage,” she said quickly, as she once again averted her eyes back down to the vegetables she was cutting up. “Thank you.”
Orion tilted his head to try to look at her better. “Then...how best can I offer you some assistance?”
Carewyn determinedly didn’t look at him.
“You can sit down and let me feed you, so that you can keep up your strength,” she said at last, her voice oddly forceful.
Orion's frown twitched. Before he could say anything, however, Charlie brought an amiable arm around his neck, giving him something of an awkward headlock.
“Aw, don’t take it personally, Orion!” Charlie said with a cheeky grin. “Carey’s just stubborn as a mule -- ”
“In the time I’ve known her, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Carewyn accept help from anyone,” said Selene with a wry smile. “At least, not without stubbornly refusing it multiple times beforehand...”
“She’s always been like that,” said Ben, as he shot a slightly pointed, cooler smile Carewyn’s way.
“Always,” Bill agreed.
The tallest of the Hobbits’ lips spread into a slightly fonder, but still very wry smile as he glanced at Carewyn out the side of his eye.
“I remember her mum, Lane Cromwell-Took, telling stories about Carey when she was little,” he said mischievously. “How she used to insist on riding a pony all by herself, even back when she was still a wee faunt...”
Gandalf chuckled. “That was true. And the pony stood a good two feet above our little she-Hobbit.”
The rest of the Fellowship couldn’t help but laugh at the adorable image painted for them. Even Cedric was snorting with laughter behind his hand despite his best efforts.
“Aw, really, Carey?” he said, charmed. “I didn’t try riding a pony until I was nearly ten...”
Charlie laughed. “Better than me! Bill and I didn’t properly learn to ride until we set off with Carey for the Misty Mountains.”
“Couldn’t exactly afford lessons,” Bill added in explanation.
“Well, I’d say Carewyn was just the right age to learn how to ride a proper pony!” said Rowan with a broad smile around his beard.
“I agree,” said Wendy. “The Rohirrim learn to ride right alongside walking...and our horses are way bigger than the ponies you lot ride. I reckon even you learned how to ride pretty young, right, Orion?”
“Rather young, yes,” Orion granted.
He glanced at Carewyn, but she once again avoided his eye. Instead she brought herself up to full height, her expression very cool as she focused on her cooking.
“I merely wish to make myself useful,” she said primly. “I was not chosen to accompany Cedric to Rivendell at the start, nor am I any sort of warrior who can protect him or the Ring from harm, as Prince Rowan or Amari can.”
Her use of Orion’s Ranger name was pointed. No one else had called him that since the Council of Elrond, when his true name was revealed. An envoy from Gondor, a dark-haired man called Felix, had questioned Orion’s presence at the council, demanding what a “mere Ranger” would understand about the One Ring and the might of Sauron. Both Wendy and Selene had been offended by the man’s rudeness, but Carewyn had managed to lay him out first --
“He is a Man, just as you are, is he not? Therefore it’s just as much his world, and his life, that are under threat from Sauron.”
Felix had pretty quickly turned his disdain down upon Carewyn. “Must I repeat my previous sentiment as well, for the halfling?”
Before Ben could fully get up out of his seat and unsheathe his sword (something both Artemis and Wendy were quick to prevent), Carewyn hopped up onto the top of her seat so as to better look Felix in the eye and verbally tore into him --
“I may be half your stature, sir -- but my moral standards clearly are head over heels above yours, for I don’t presume that my blood ancestry makes me inherently superior to anyone else!”
It was only Elrond that quelled the argument, by making it clear that both Carewyn and Orion had plenty of reason to be at the Council -- Carewyn because her brother had disappeared while seeking out the One Ring and had been the one to discover it had ended up back in the Shire, and Orion because of his relation to Isildur, the last doomed King of Gondor who had failed to destroy the One Ring himself so many years ago. And it was indeed this moment when Orion had noticed Carewyn’s eyes had changed somewhat in how she looked upon him, before she’d stopped looking at him altogether.
Orion’s black eyes rippled with something a bit more troubled as he shifted a bit closer to Carewyn.
“You do not need to prove your worth to us, Ms. Took,” he said very softly.
Something in Carewyn’s eyes darkened. She turned fully away, and then immediately got up and started serving stew to the people around the fire.
“Eat up now, all of you -- we may have to eat and travel light, but to do that, you’ll need proper nourishment.”
~*~
As the Fellowship all prepared to go to sleep, Orion tried once again to approach Carewyn. This time he managed to catch her alone while she tended to the Fellowships’ horses.
“Ms. Took.”
Carewyn stiffened a bit at the sound of Orion’s voice. She didn’t turn around even as the Ranger slowly approached her. He watched her for a moment, considering his next move carefully -- then he tentatively brought a hand up to smooth out his own horse’s mane, which Carewyn had been brushing.
“Have I offended you, Amari?” she asked softly.
Orion gave a double blink worthy of a trained animal receiving confusing instructions. “Offended me?”
Carewyn frowned deeply. “Well, yes. I told you that I only care to have strangers refer to me as ‘Ms. Took.’”
Orion blinked again, much more slowly. Then, his eyes welling up with compassion, he got down on Carewyn’s level so as to look her in the eye better.
“...It seems I’ve made a great error. I thought that I had offended you, and in trying to make amends, I’ve ended up offending you further.”
Carewyn looked up at him, her eyebrows high with surprise.
“What? Why would you think that? You did nothing wrong! I merely...”
She looked down.
“...I merely...didn’t know how best to address you.”
Orion tilted his head, frowning slightly.
“I wished to address you like before -- as Amari,” she explained. “It is the name you introduced yourself with, to me, and it’s clearly the name you feel most comfortable being called. I want you to remain comfortable with me. But...even if I did refer to you that way -- by the name you gave me, rather than the one Lord Elrond calls you...I didn’t want you to think that...well, that I don’t respect who you truly are. Sure, perhaps your family hasn’t held the throne of Gondor in generations, but you’re still descended from great kings. From brave Chieftains and wise elves. And as much as you don’t follow in their footsteps, you’ve clearly learned so much from them -- how to nurture and protect...how to lead. And well...I’m just a Hobbit who happened to get thrown into this whole quest while trying to find my brother. The One Ring doesn’t have the history for me that it does for you. This mission’s success is so much more important for you than it could ever be for me.”
Orion’s expression softened. He quietly considered her for a long moment, before he reached out a hand and rested it on his horse’s flank, just over Carewyn’s.
“...Lord Elrond doesn’t call me Orion,” he said at last. “At least, aside from when he introduces me formally.”
Carewyn blinked in surprise.
“In my youth, my name was Estel,” said Orion, as his lips curled up in a small smile. “I was a Man raised with all the education and guidance of an elf, with no knowledge of my true parentage. It was only when I had turned twenty that Lord Elrond told me the name my mother had given me...and it was not long after that that I took on the name Amari, in the wilderness...”
His gaze flitted down to Carewyn’s hand, the small fingers of which his were merely inches away from.
“It’s a name I took due to the danger my real name posed to me, and to the people around me,” he said lowly. “It was for that name -- Orion Elessar II -- that both my father and mother lost their lives...and it is that name that prompts nothing but distrust and verbal poison from the Men of Gondor.”
“That’s nonsense.”
Orion looked at Carewyn. Her eyebrows had furrowed with righteous anger and her hands had flown to her hips.
“No name can prompt such things -- only the actions and choices of weaker, crueler creatures,” Carewyn said fiercely. “Why, Orion’s a very handsome name! The name of a very wise and courageous Man, I should think, since you’re the second Elessar to bear the name! And for anyone to judge you based on what an ancestor thirty times before our time did? There are few Elves alive that can even remember back that far! And even if they can, you are not Isildur, and his failings are not yours.”
Orion raised his eyebrows, faintly surprised but also faintly touched by the sentiment. Then he quirked one of his eyebrows at her critically.
“...And yet your opinion of me changed, once you knew of my ancestry,” he pointed out. “More positively than I’m used to -- but still, a change.”
Carewyn flushed, but her expression stayed stubbornly proud.
“My change in behavior was not because of you being related to royalty -- I already presumed you might have some noble blood when we first met, didn’t I?” she huffed.
She brushed her bangs out of her eyes.
“It just...affected what you told me, about your mother. How she died bringing you to Rivendell, to stay with Lord Elrond. I had no idea it was because of who your family was...that you’d never had a real place to think of as ‘home’...all because your family had been exiled from the place they once knew as home, ages before you were born, all because of an ancestor who everyone even now insists on comparing you to.”
Her eyes grew more solemn upon their two hands on the flank of Orion’s horse.
“...Your whole family...you all lost your home. You were all displaced, never to know the true comfort of hearth and home...all because of one horrible mistake, thousands of years ago.”
Her hand finally moved up to take hold of Orion’s. Orion gave the slightest of starts, but recovered quickly, as Carewyn gave his hand a light squeeze.
“Your family deserved better than that,” she said quietly. “You deserve better than that.”
Orion’s black eyes wandered over Carewyn’s face, even as she kept her own gaze on their joined hands. Then, very slowly, he also turned his eyes down to their hands, and gave hers the lightest of squeezes in return.
“...You have a very large heart, Carewyn Cromwell-Took.”
Carewyn’s cheeks reddened with a light blush as she smiled slightly.
“I suppose...I really should ask properly what you’d like me to call you,” she said bracingly.
Orion considered her. “That really would depend on you.”
Carewyn raised her eyebrows.
“What do you see when you look at me, Carewyn Cromwell-Took?” he asked. “The orphaned ward of Lord Elrond, raised and taught by the Elves of Rivendell? A Ranger with no country who wanders and adventures every day? Or the heir of a disgraced King who now aims to finish what that King could not?”
Carewyn frowned deeply.
“What I see is a Man,” she said, “and everything that entails.”
Orion looked curious.
“All of Men’s great foibles?” he asked amusedly.
“All of Men’s potential,” Carewyn shot back. Her lips spread into a determined, bright red smile. “Yes, perhaps Men do have their foibles. Quite a few of them, really. They can be impatient, and very short-sighted, as their lifespans are so short. They’re not particularly strong, or resilient, or even that fast. They can be as stubborn as dwarves, as arrogant as Elves, and as self-absorbed as Hobbits. And yet...”
Her smile spread into a fuller, gleaming grin -- a truly beautiful expression that made her eyes sparkle.
“...They can also be none of that, and more. They can be tolerant and accepting, when those of the other races turn up their noses. They can be generous and kind, being loyal companions and comrades-in-arms. They can be modest and wise...willing to discard what could elevate their own status, all in a desire to make deep connections with others.”
Orion’s eyes widened just a bit.
“You truly admire Men,” he said.
Carewyn crossed her arms, smiling wryly. “Is that so strange?”
“For me, yes,” Orion admitted.
Lord Elrond was not subtle in his disdain toward the failings of Men -- many elves and dwarves weren’t. Carewyn’s idealism, though, made Orion smile broadly.
“If that is the case,” he said as he inclined his head respectfully to her, “then I should dearly like it if you called me ‘Orion.’”
Carewyn hesitated. “...Are you sure?”
“Yes,” said Orion with a bright white smile. “You yourself said it was a handsome name. And perhaps you can see through those flaws in my name, the same as you have seen through those in Men.”
Carewyn smiled a bit more softly as she withdrew her hand from his at last.
“I’m certain I can...Orion.”

a lil scene from Vaughan and Gwendolyn ‘s past when they was much younger and in love.but sadly Vaughan woudl't stay the same and would change for the worse.. he would act nasty, he didt like his own cubs and one day he acted out trying to punish Typhoon for messing up hunt training, lil Gordon saw this and his big brother instinct kicked in and he landed a good hit on Vaughan's eye and held him at bay until their mother showed up and she attacks him and kicks him out from the family. She would not tolerate this any longer. she was sick and tired of him.

Sticking this on here in the hope that someone might somehow see it and be able to answer. I’m trying to find a kind of fantasy film I saw a bit of when I was a kid in the 90’s. I tried sticking this on Reddit’s Tip Of My Tongue, but everyone’s is just suggesting the most obvious fantasy movies ever.
This was sparked by Tumblr’s suggestion showing me a clip of The Perils of Gwendolyn in the Land of the Yik-Yak.
It was lateish on a week night, UK Channel 4. I think I was getting ready for bed. This film has, I believe, just started. The feel of it is something like Terry Gilliam’s Baron Munchausen. Every time I try and search for this film, I end up pointed at Terry Jones’ Erik the Viking. So, what I’m getting at, is it’s tonally odd. Like, a little tongue in cheek.
The vague memories I have are of an elaborate court. Maybe carved out of a cave. The main character is possibly blonde, and maybe wearing something like a tunic, giving him a kind of Greco-Roman mythology feel. He has a sidekick. Part of me wants to say they are a little person, part of me thinks I’m completely off to say that.
The main dude is mooning over a woman who is some kind of Queen/Empresses/Princess figure. She is clearly not very nice, but he comes across naive and is over romanticising her qualities. She is wearing something like the typical fantasy bikini affair that Ming’s brides might wear in the Flash Gordon movie. It’s got a lot of trailing beads. It’s like she’s draped in a beaded curtain made of pearls.
Something happens which displeases her, and she works on the blonde guy to get him to go on some kind of perilous affair for her. He’s obviously aware he is in deep shit, but his infatuation has him conflicted.
The kicker is that as she’s asking him, he’s lying on some stairs, basically at her feet. She is rhythmically sashaying her hips, causing the front curtain of beads to trail. He seems almost hypnotically fixated on her crotch. This has obviously stayed with me for a couple of decades and I still have no idea what it is.
I possibly haven’t given as good a description as I have here, so Reddit is currently suggesting every fantasy movie ever that features some kind of ridiculous chain mail bikini curtain outfit. I feel I want to emphasise, it’s obviously not Conan the Destroyer, Excalibur, anything by Harryhausen or the future bit of Blackadder’s Christmas Carol.
So, throwing this out here in the hopes that someone might have an idea what I saw, while Reddit suggests every blummin’ movie I’ve ever seen already.
Reblogs appreciated.

Reseña: Rubí de Kerstin Gier (2009)
Tumblr media
