नवरात्रि के तीसरे दिन मां चंद्रघंटा की पूजा की जाती है। ऐसा माना जाता है कि शुक्र ग्रह देवी चंद्रघंटा द्वारा शासित है। Maa Chandraghanta देवी पार्वती का विवाहित रूप हैं। भगवान शिव से विवाह के बाद देवी महागौरी ने अपने माथे को आधा चंद्र से सजाना शुरू किया और जिसके कारण देवी पार्वती को देवी चंद्रघंटा के नाम से जाना जाने लगा।

Gudipadwa 2024: Gudi Padwa is celebrated every year on the first day of the Hindu new year i.e. Chaitra month. This day is also called Ugadi. The Hindu New Year starts from the month of Chaitra. Hindu New Year is celebrated as Gudi Padwa in Maharashtra. This day symbolizes the harvest day. Lord Vishnu and Brahma are worshiped on this day. On this day, people make rangoli at home, decorate the house with flower garlands and also prepare many types of dishes. On the day of Gudi Padwa, people wear new clothes and visit each other's houses. Puran Poli, Shrikhand and sweet rice are also prepared on this day.
Importance of Gudi Padwa
According to mythology, the day of Gudi Padwa is celebrated as the creation of the universe. It is believed that on this day Lord Brahma created the universe. Therefore, worship of Lord Brahma on this day has special significance. Another belief is that on this day Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj defeated the foreign infiltrators. It is said that on the day of Gudi Padwa, evils end and happiness and prosperity come in life.

Gudipadwa 2024 rituals
On the day of Gudi Padwa, bathing is done before sunrise.
After this the main entrance of the house is decorated with mango leaves.
Then a Gudi is placed in a part of the house and it is decorated with mango leaves, flowers and clothes.
After this Lord Brahma is worshiped and the Gudi is hoisted.
After hoisting the Gudi, Lord Vishnu is worshiped as per the rituals.
Gudipadwa 2024: Mythology
The festival of Gudi Padwa is very popular in South India. According to mythological belief, in Satyayuga, South India was ruled by King Bali. When Lord Shri Ram came to know that Lanka's ruler Ravana had abducted Mother Sita, he reached South India in search of her. Here he met Sugriva. Sugriva made Shri Ram aware of Bali's misrule and expressed his inability to help him. After this, Lord Shri Ram killed Bali and freed the people of South India from his terror. It is said that that day was of Chaitra Shukla Pratipada. That is why Gudi i.e. Vijaya flag is hoisted on this day.
