♣️ 008 with Set and Loki because he doesn’t know how to win a prize 😂
@kardpackcb
008. a bright arcade, coins falling from machines and claws grabbing at soft toys .
Matt had decided to take his boyfriend and his boyfriend's friend to an arcade instead of the boardwalk. He was planning on teaching Loki how to win the simpliest of games, a claw machine, while also taking the chance to hangout with his boyfriend. They walked into athe arcade Set and Loki arguing while Matt sighed and shook his head at the two. "You're like children." He muttered with a raised brow.
"No!" They both said before bickering again and Matt just rubbed the bridge of his nose and wrapped his arm around Set's waist.
"We're inside now, so we use our inside voices." He said before grabbing Loki's arm and guiding the two to gt tokens. "Also no leaving my side." Set pouted but leaned into Matt's side happily, his tail wagging. Loki rolled his eyes but let himself get dragged along. While they got tokens Loki looked around.
"I've never been to an arcade...why's it so...colorful-" Set shrugged as he grabbed Matt's arm when he came back with a cup of tokens.
"I don't know, attracts kids I guess."
"It attracts you two. Let's go." Matt said as he kissed the top of Set's head, said man pouting but walking along to the claw machines. "Alright try and win one by yourself and I'll determine what you need help on." Loki rolled his eyes and took a token and put it in the machine.
"Yeah yeah dad. I got this, it shouldn't be so hard." Matt poked the inside of his cheek with his tongue while Set snickered next to him waiting for Loki to fail miserably. Loki started moving the joystick, eyes narrowed and tongue out before pressing the button to release the claw. The claw fell down and picked up a cow plushie and dropping it before it go to the hole.
"At least you almost got the plushie." Set said while Matt nodded his head. Loki sighed and pressed his forhead against the glass.
"I was going for the fish." He pointed to the other side of the machine with a bigger pout. Matt looked at him with a confused look while Set started laughing his ass off.
"Pfft...HA!"
"Set was right...you really do have bad eye hand coordination." Loki huffed and poked their forked tongue out at Set who was trying to catch his breath. "Here. Watch and learn." Matt said as he ruffled Set's hair walking up to the machine and putting in a coin. "Which do you want pup?" Set's tail wagged as he pointed at a racoon plushie.
"That one." Matt smiled and nodded as he moved the joystick towards the raccoon plushie. Set leaned against machine looking at him dreamily while Loki had their arms crossed looking unimpressed. Matt presses the button to release the claw, it grabbing and picking up the raccoon before carrying it and dropping it into the hole. Set squealed, jumping up and down while clapping his hands.
Matt smiled and pressed a kiss to his lips before handing him the plushie. "A cute plushie for an even cuter pup." Set blushed as his ears flicked happily. He hugged him, clinging to his chest while Loki gagged in the background.
"Give me another coin." He muttered while Matt raised a brow and handed the coin over.
Loki was determined to win one on his own.

Misunderstandings
When Y/n is afraid to speak up to Loki what will the consequences be?
Request from @lokiismyhubby
Tumblr media
“Would you like something to eat?” Loki asks his small friend who stands on the marble countertop fidgeting with her hands. He hears no response and turns his head down to properly look at her. Y/n’s head is turned downwards, looking at her feet.
Y/n is a rather shy person who only speaks her mind when absolutely necessary and right now is not one of those times. It’s not that she’s scared of Loki, sure his immense size is intimidating but she trusts that he is careful not to hurt her accidentally or on purpose even. It’s just hard for her to use her voice. Every time she feels the want to speak and respond to Loki her chest becomes tight, her hands clammy with sweat, and her breathing shallow.
Loki becomes irritated at Y/n’s silence; he has done nothing to make her so quiet and afraid of him. Taking a deep breath he tries to calm himself and leans down making his face level to Y/n. Her head tilts up to meet his gaze, a worried expression obvious.
“Are you mad at me?” She asks, fearing his disappointment in her.
Loki smiles in reassurance; something that was rare for him to do until he met Y/n.
“I just wish you would speak to me more often. I feel that the conversions we have anymore are one-sided.” Loki says sadly.
“But… what would you like to eat? I know you’re hungry Little Miss.”
Y/n blushes from the sweet nickname he has taken a liking to but does at least tell him what she’d like to eat. He seems proud when she speaks up, sending a jolt of happiness through her chest.
After Loki conjures what she asked for on a fancy china plate, he refuses to eat off of anything less, he picks Y/n up gently setting her upon his shoulder. He walks to the living room with their plates ready for a cozy, movie-filled night.
The next morning Y/n wakes up on her bed placed on the nightstand next to Loki’s larger one. She glances over at the already made-up covers, surprised to not see Loki anywhere in sight. She slides off her bed her bare feet hitting the cold hardwood.
“Loki?” She calls out. She can make out clanging in the kitchen which is odd. Loki usually always carries her into the kitchen or wherever he’s heading off to. He must not hear her as the noises continue. She peeks to the floor far below her perch on the nightstand and looks over to the bed. The nightstand starts to shake slightly indicating Loki’s arrival. Oh, thank God he didn’t forget about her. Her shoulders slump in relief as she sees his monumental form stroll into the bedroom, his head swiveling around as if he forgot something. He goes to his dresser and retrieves what he needs walking out of the room as if she was invisible. She wanted to call his name but what if she bothered him? Or if what she said wasn’t important enough?
Making the agonizing trip down the bedsheets is a feat way too big to be accomplished for 9 o’clock in the morning. She pads her way to the kitchen, wary of the furniture around her. She sometimes forgets how easy Loki makes her life, offering a gracious palm here and there to ferry her from room to room. She comes into the kitchen and stares up at the skyscraping counters that tower over her. She sees Loki come around the corner and stares up and up amazed that his hips clear the top of the countertop easily. She had momentarily forgotten how tall he was. Loki’s footsteps rattle her to the bone walking to the oven and back to the sink. Her mouth runs dry, her heart pumping furiously as his slippered foot comes down inches from her standing form. She screams in terror, sounding like a squeak to Loki’s ears. Y/n covers her head with both arms and falls down to her knees. He turns his head downwards and immediately kneels when he sees what happened.
“Oh, my God! Y/n are you okay?” He breathes out, terrified that he might have hurt her with an unaware step. He carefully scoops her up with shaking hands and sets her on the counter, resting a protective hand behind her.
Y/n looks up at him with teary eyes and sees that he is just as terrified. It seems they had gotten too comfortable with their different sizes; overlooking the dangers that could happen.
“Y/n, y-you should’ve called my name or something else to get my attention!” Loki scolds, running a hand through his hair. He should have just taken her with him this morning but he had wanted to let her sleep.
“I tried when I was in the bedroom… but you didn’t hear me,” Y/n says softly.
Loki kneels to see her eyes better, she downturns her head to avoid his gaze. Loki, gentle as ever, lifts her chin with a fingertip.
“Y/n you know I can’t hear you all the way in there. You gotta speak up.” Loki instructs.
A look of thought comes over his face as he scrunches his eyebrows.
“Hey, wait… I came into the bedroom a while ago. Were you in there at that time?”
Y/n wrings her hands and looks down at the counter nodding. Loki lets out an agitated sigh but says nothing more about the subject.
“C’mon Little Miss…. Let’s eat.”
Tumblr media
Y/n waited patiently in the living room chair, one that Loki had kindly made for her size. It was almost time for their daily walk which Y/n enjoyed. Loki would let her perch on his shoulder as he walked through a different part of the forest. He would point out unique flowers and offer a name and why they were called that. Y/n didn’t even know if that was their true name but Loki made it believable enough for her to not second guess. She had never actually walked on the forest floor partly because it was scary to a person of her size but also because she never wanted to annoy or interrupt Loki. But she was going to challenge herself today and actually ask Loki to put her down. She had loved how happy he looked when she spoke up earlier. She wanted to see that smile again. She tied her boots again and redid her hair to make certain it was out of the way waiting impatiently.
She felt Loki walking into the living room and stood up eagerly ready to go. But he kept walking by her, continuing to the front door. Without a glance back he walked outside on his own, ready to walk. Right when the door slammed did Y/n have the ability to speak and call out his name but it seemed it was too late.
He’d left her all alone.
Y/n sat down on her chair with a tightness in her throat. Even her heart seemed to hurt. All the eagerness she had previously had evaporated. She rested her elbows on her knees and put her hands on her head. One tear slipped from her eye and she wiped it away hastily. But it didn’t matter as the next one slipped out and re-wet her cheek. She let the sadness take over feeling more alone than she ever had.
Later that night Loki made dinner and offered her some but she refused. She felt stubborn and truthfully wasn’t a bit hungry. She didn’t want to bother him with her presence. When he made tea and brought it over to her in the little blue mug that she loved, she left it untouched. It was her favorite tea too, honey chamomile. Loki noticed this of course but he chose not to speak of it.
Y/n was still holding hope though for the night. After they had dinner and their tea Loki would read aloud the novel they chose. She’d snuggle close in the crook of his neck to see the words better and partially because she liked to feel the vibrations of his voice. She sat stiff as a rock in her chair now waiting for him to pick the book up and reach for her.
Once again, it never happened.
Instead, Loki stood to his great height and wished her a good night as he retreated to his bed. Y/n watched his form go with sad eyes. Anger bubbled up in her. He had no reason or right to treat her this way. She eyed the book laying on the coffee table and decided she would just read for herself. She managed to jump up to the dark wooden surface of the table and marched her way right to the hardback. As she stood next to it though she realized this would be no easy feat.
First, she had to open it.
The stacked pages came up to her shoulder. A good two inches tall. She dug her fingertips into the cover and lifted with all her might. She was able to raise it but couldn’t exactly get it over her head to fall to the other side. After three more attempts her arms were sore and her fingertips red from her tight grip. She admitted defeat and slumped against the book, wrapping her arms around bent knees.
Tumblr media
Loki hadn’t really gone to bed. He stood outside his room at the door frame waiting for Y/n to call his name. Plead for him to come back and do their daily reading. It saddened him when she said nothing about him leaving her for their walk this afternoon. Perhaps she no longer liked them as much as he did?
He figured that surely she would speak up when they didn’t read. But she didn’t. He had taken post here and began watching what she would do. At first, watching her try to open the book was funny. He then saw how much it angered and saddened her when she couldn’t get it over her head. How she had given up and leaned against it. Quiet sniffles sounded through the air, turning into louder sobs.
Oh no.
He straightened from the wall and beelined for the coffee table. There she sat looking even smaller curled up in a ball. He sat down criss-cross and nudged her shoulder with a finger.
“Y/n?” He said softly.
She looked up at him with red and swollen eyes. Her shirt was stained with tears.
“Oh, my little dove…” He scooped her up and held her to his chest.
“Do you not want me around anymore Loki?” She said shakily.
“Of course I want you around, why would you even say that?” He was taken aback.
“W-well you left me here today and then didn’t want to read at all. I-I figured I had done something.”
Loki mentally winced, it seemed his plan had backfired.
“Oh no, listen Little Miss,” He held her right to his face. A stray tear ran down her cheek, he used the pad of a thumb to wipe it away.
“I only did those things because I wanted you to speak up. This morning with our incident...I realized how dangerous it is if you don’t speak up. I could have killed you Y/n.” She couldn't help but flinch at his vulgar words. Loki noticed this and gingerly rubbed her back.
“So I figured since you like to go on our walks and read together that you would have no trouble speaking up. It seems I was wrong.”
A moment of quiet passed and Y/n looked up at him.
“It’s just hard for me to talk sometimes. It not that I’m scared of you I just worry that I’ll be annoying or you’ll tell me to shut up.”
Loki looked at her tenderly and fiercely. “Y/n I would never tell you to shut up or that you are annoying. Even if you were at the time.” He grinned.
Y/n smiled back at him and leaned against his middle finger. “You know today I was even going to ask you if I could walk in the forest on my own…” Y/n said.
“You were?!” Loki exclaimed.
Y/n laughed and nodded.
“Then we will have to accomplish that task tomorrow but how about I read that book now?”
“I’d like that.” Y/n agreed.
She settled upon his shoulder, a little envious of how easily he opened the book. But when he started reading it was forgotten.
"I love you Lokes." She said snuggling into his neck.
"I love you more Y/n..."

New Tiny Peter Parker 1
(Sorry I had to redo the first one so this is different)
Peter Parker was just a normal borrower , That lived in the avengers tower. He’s been living there for about three years now, he also thought he had all the heroes habits down pat.
Well that was till they brought Loki into the tower, yeah that was the day Loki found him going through some paperclips. Peter was in the guest room that was normally empty or it was the three years he was living there. But now there was another person that he didn’t know about.
Peter was going through the paper clips trying to find a good one to place his old one. With his back turned he felt safe. A little too safe, he was too busy with finding the right paper clip he didn’t see the lump in the bed or hear the moving of fabric.
Peter gave a little cheer and he held a shiny new paper clip he was so happy because he really needed a new one. But sadly his happiness disappeared as he noticed a shadow now casting over him. “I wonder if iron pan knows he has a thief living in his walls? I wonder what he would do.” Said a voice, Peter knew all to well by the tv. Slowey she looked up to the sky to see none other than the god of mischief Loki.
Loki wore a smirk on his face as he watched a little boy cower before him. It’s been a while since he can have so much fun especially with something smaller than him. But his smirk slowly left his face as he watched the boy pass out. Now he had a limp tiny borrower on his desk and oddly he felt bad about it.
Even if he wasn’t mean or a human say evil he didn’t mean to go that far. As gently as he possibly could he picked up a small boy and have my flat in his hand and then went to bed. Slowly he laid down on a special place in the boy on his chest and now all he could do was either wait for the boy to wake up or for his annoying brother to show up.
End of chapter 1

Anyone else absolutely in love with Johtun Loki from the latest What If? episode? Because OH MY GOSH there were so many wonderful g/t moments. Seeing Loki at his proper height as a Frost Giant, seeing him interact with everyone (the tiny phone and Thor grabbing one of his fingers with his hand was the cutest thing!), and seeing how happy Loki was as well truly was a treat. I really hope this means we’ll get more of canon Johtun/Frost Giant Loki in the future?

Loki finds a boy
This is just a short and sweet little fic to help me write again. It's been hard since I lost my dad, but I'm getting better and here is the proof.
"Crap!" Peter felt the twine in his hands suddenly snap as he gripped it, causing him to free fall until he hit the top of the shelf and saw stars in the dark. "Ouch.." he groaned, sitting up to rub at his head, tilting his chin up to glare at the twine that was now hanging high above his head. Now how was he supposed to get back home? May and Ben were waiting for him to come back with sugar and pasta!
The darkness suddenly gave way into bright light as the human in the room rose from his bed, long black hair trailing behind him as bright green eyes roved over the items in the room. "Who is there?" A silky voice called out. The boy scurried back behind a tall goblet, his feet sliding in his hurry and his breathing sounding loud in his ears. "I asked a question," the voice sounded again. "I shan't ask again, mortal."
'Crap crap crap crap crap!' Peter's eyes shifted along the shelf to find something to help him escape, but it was practically bare. Now what? Why did this stuff happen to him?
"Fine. I shall seek you out and then decide your punishment for hiding from the mighty Loki." The giant moved and the boy flinched at the sound of the man's feet hitting the tile.
'Please don't let him find me,' Peter chanted over and over his mind, his hands thrown over his head which was tucked into his knees, his body shaking. It seemed that it was for naught because in the next moment the cup shifted behind him, making the boy fall over with a cry, the cup falling from the shelf and hitting the floor with a crash.
The man spun and his eyes went from the cup and travelled up to where Peter was now staring at him with wide, scared eyes. "Well well," he drawled, moving closer to the shelf. Peter cried out and moved back as quick as he can, his arms flying up to cover his face.
"Please don't hurt me! I'm sorry for intruding, please just let me leave!" Why did his rope have to break? It was always the Parker Luck that got him in the end.
"Leave?" The voice sounded closer, making the boy start to shake. "Why would you leave when you've just arrived?" Loki smirked at the small being quivering in fear within his sight. "That would be extremely rude, little borrower." Seeing the boy he smiled jovially and took a step, seing the creature flinch away and feeling....something. "Come now, little one. Have I hurt you as of yet?"
Peter looked up for a brief second and shook his head then ducked back into his knees. "B-but I know you will!" He argued and that got his mind to start in overtime. why did you say that? Now he will kill me! Why am I such an idiot? The shelf started trembling as the giant walked towards him, making Peter start shaking until he was sure he heard his bones knocking together.
"And what makes you say that, hmm?" Loki was now practically face to face with the borrower, smirking as he took in its diminutive form. The boy was quite cute, even though he hadn't seen his face yet. "Look at me, borrower."
Hearing the demand, Peter shook his head. "N-no!"
Frowning now, Loki took matters into his own hands. Literally. Without an err, he brought one hand up to fall behind the small boy, making him gasp and look up in alarm. And Loki was quite right, the boy was adorable. "Well now, was that so hard?" He asked, tilting his head a bit. "You are quite...well, adorable," he chuckled. "I may even keep you as my little pet. Would you like that, borrower? To be the pet of the Mighty Loki?"
Peter shook his head vehemently. "No! I'm no one's pet!" He backed away from the man only to hit into his hand behind him, making the boy cry out as it started to close around it. "No! Stop, let me go!"
"Come come, now. All I want is a better look at you." Loki closed his hand around the small being, feeling his every movement in the palm of his hand, the erratic beating of his heart which made him feel...sorry for the poor thing. "Stop your whimpering," he snapped in a soft tone. "If I had wanted to kill you I would have done it already and be cleaning up the mess. I have never met one of your species before, so I wish to examine you."
"Yeah, and then you'll kill me. I know all about it. That's how my parents died! They were seen and were killed for it...I just...just please let me say goodbye to my aunt. I'm all she has left..." Peter was openly crying now, tears running down his face as he stared into the chiseled face of the man staring at him.
"No," Loki said, holding up a hand to silence the boy. "You will not need to say goodbye, for you will be going back to your family." He smiled as kindly as he could at the tiny boy, bringing him up off the shelf and dropping his small form into his other hand. "So, tell me little one. Do you have a name?" Peter swallowed thickly and nodded, his dry mouth trying to form the word. "P-Peter...sir..."
"Well Peter...I have a feeling we'll be seeing each other more often. Now, for my first question."

Okay, so I'm using Loki as an example because that's who I imagined when I came up with this. So, picture this:
Loki, just walking around with smol friend that he stole from Thor.
Thor: What do you have?
Loki: A tiny!
Thor: NO!

Wrong place, Wrong time. Part 1
God of war x borrower oc story
“-And remember, DON’T touch anything! Reavers aren’t exactly a clean bunch,” a gurgling followed. “Ugh, really bad at keeping anything clean in fact.” The poor man really could be a worry wart at times (and a clean freak as always).
“Sindri, I’ll be fine. I promise! Cross my heart and everything. The whetstone will probably be kept somewhere safe if it’s precious enough to be stolen, so it’ll hopefully be clean when I find it.”
“Oh. Well, I hadn’t thought of that. Just...stay safe ok? And don’t get caught!”
“I won’t, I never do. See you soon!”
Reluctantly the dwarf answered,“See you soon jojo.” But the poor dwarf’s knee couldn’t stop shaking, thinking about worst case scenarios. Jojo knew he’d just have to prove poor Sindri wrong once again. Maybe one of these days he’d actually learn there was no use worrying himself into a frenzy. Taking off, the 5 inch figure wasn’t stopped as he scurried along natural ledges in walls, and began his descent into the heart of the earth.
Jojo didn’t see what all the worry was for. One of the few perks of being a borrower was often big folk like Reavers or monsters were always too busy looking ahead for bean sized people, that they never looked far enough down to see him. He knew the dwarf didn’t like asking him for help, even though the boy often came to Sindri’s shop outside ‘Fafnir’s storeroom’ (or whatever he called it) asking for challenges and new borrowing spots.
Most borrowers would call it suicide to be talking to beans and other big folk, ESPECIALLY with all the new monsters that have started popping up recently. Hel walkers they’re called apparently. But Jojo wasn’t most. He’d sought out his favourite Dwarf and brother when his parents died drowning in the lake of nine when the waters suddenly flooded, leaving their 8 year old son to fend for himself. Not immediately, obviously. No, at that point he was still a weedy little scaredy cat himself, not able to be even in the same area when footstep started to shake the earth. It could only last so long though. He hadn’t been old enough to be taken out borrowing before being left alone, and supplies ran low quickly. So, spurt of the desperate, when he saw the two set up shop outside his home in the foothills, the child decided to stride right out into the open and ask for food.
4 years later and he still never regretted that decision. Still scrawny, “the side effect of being young” said Brok, but definitely more confident. Brok taught him a lot of that confidence (and a whole lot of swear words too, despite Sindri’s attempts to undo his brother’s work) and Sindri taught him kindness and generosity. The generosity was only spent on the brothers, because who else was he going to see? No borrower would trust another that hung around beans, and Sindri wouldn’t let him be found by anyone if he had anything to say about it, but kindness he tried to show all IF he could without getting sliced in half.
Gathering focus for the change in environment, the world became darker. White, natural light was flittering out, slowly being replaced by the ethereal glow of blue crystals bouncing off liquid smooth stone corridors leading into a fatal drop. An underground ravine. Nothing had shown its face yet, though the odd grunt of some undead beastie would make itself known now and then. Being so small meant there was no need to cross the water below, or find ways to get the chain ropes down so as to climb across. All he had to do was stick close to the roof where stalactites could be leapt between till he reached some valley in the wall to rest. Nothing too hard. Looking for the fist place to jump, a low hanging spine was just a couple of feet away (to Jojo); taking a leap of faith, the boy managed to snag the tail end. Right, next one. Leaping like a lemur the drop was easily avoided, and soon something came into view. Sunlight yellow was beginning to mix with the unnatural blue, and Jojo knew there was an opening into the outside world around the corner. Good, finally he would be able to see, though he would be easier to spot in the illumination of day.
Sindri
How had Brok convinced him to let Jojo go treasure hunting alone? So many traps, monsters, ancients even! “He’ll be fine” said Brok when the two had discussed it together during one of their rare ‘chats for important matters’. So nonchalantly Brok threw out, “Kid’s never been seen before, he ain’t gonna be now!” We’ll that was just testing fate wasn’t it! The rhythmic thumping of hammer to metal was doing nothing to take his mind off the matter, and a few too many near misses to his thumb told Sindri he wasn’t going to get any real work done at this rate. Perhaps he should have a break and go visit Ivaldi’s workshop?
“Hey Sindri!”
“Agh!!!!” Both hammer and work went flying overhead, just missing the flat of his skull. The lithe boy in question at least had the gall to go red, abashed as he walked over to the Dwarf’s workbench, scratching at the buzzed fuzz across the side his head.
“Sorry.”
“Well you should be! That could’ve hurt you OR me, and all the infections that could get in-”
“Boy, be careful.”
The source of the voice sat further back up the slate corridor, hidden in shadow, hawkish gold glowed beneath a heavy brow.
“Sorry father.” Atreus called back to the hidden figure.
With meaningful strides, the figure came into the light of day, bleach white skin, jet black beard and a crimson tattoo striped across an eye setting the figure apart as none other than his worst fear. Kratos. Why? Why were these two here?
“What brings you two to my place of work to scare me?”
Leaning on the edge of his (freshly cleaned) work bench, the spritely youth explained with excitement, “We’re gonna get that whetstone you wanted!”
Shit! He’d mentioned that to them, hadn’t he? Why had they come to fulfill that promise now, when they seemed so disinterest in before?
“O-o-ooooohhhhh yeahhhhhhh, THAT whetstone. Well...”
Atreus leaned in with a head tilt and a brow lifted, “...well? What’s wrong, did you find it already?”
“No-“
“-No? Then what’s the problem?”
“Speak clearly, we have come for the promise of improvements.” Straight to the point, both father and son were on edge now.
Damn it, he was digging a hole for himself again. Stupid mouth. Obviously, if the two of them went in those mines, there was a chance his kid would get spotted and wearing that rat skin outfit, either of the pair could mistake Jojo for an actual rat and hit him with something. Oooooo, that’s horrifying, don’t think about that! Ughhhh don’t vomit! Don’t-...But On the other hand, there was a chance that the father/son duo could clear the way and make it safer for his boy to get back. And more searching eyes makes for less work. Sindri would just have to encourage them not to be too... liberal with their killing.
“Yes the offer is still there, but you must heed this warning.”
“You mentioned no warning before, why?” The irritation lacing the bestial man’s tone didn’t keep itself hidden, growls billowing out that barrel chest. The dwarf didn’t shirk away like a turtle. Not at all.
“O-oh-well-I didn’t know before. Bbbbut I got new information...from Brok. He said not tooooooo... kill the ratssssss?”
The growls took a higher pitch.
“Errrrr, ok? Are the rats protected are something?” Quizzed Atreus, bringing the blacksmith off the subject of the terrifying god before him. A perfect excuse.
“YES! Yes, sorry, the rats are the protected subjects of Freya. Wouldn’t want to upset her right?!”
“Oh! Well, she never mentioned that when we met her.” These two met FREYA! Of course they had, who was he kidding, they’d met everyone and probably started a fight with them too.
“Must’ve slipped her mind, now hurry up! Don’t want any drauger or wolves to get their disgusting hands all over it! Otherwise it’ll be so dirty even I won’t be able to clean it!”
The excuse was enough. The two turned (but not before the kid’s enthusiastic good bye) and disappeared below the cramped passage into the inky black mines, their footsteps echoing out.
“Please let this be the right idea.” Huffed out Sindri with stale, held breath, shaking his head at his own recklessness.
Jojo
Making the last of his descent down the sheer cliff walls, vibrant green broke the dead stone and made life at the edge of the darkness. The sweet ache from overworked tendons and muscles began the slow process of slipping away, fresh air and bird song rejuvenating the boy’s ambition to find his prize, a grin pulling at bubbly cheeks. He was halfway now! Strolling through the ivy, form barely making a rustle, sunlight illuminated the boy’s way through the thickets. Brok mentioned that before he reached the main chamber where the actual traps and treasure was kept, there was a ‘small’ field for him to cross with bits of precious metals along the way. Jojo knew he’d need to make height soon in order to know where he was going, but this time it’d have to be calculated; all black stood out in all this greenery. Now where to go? Rocks. He could use the rocks as an outpost to look out: dark coloured, easy to climb and easy to blend into. Just a matter of reaching it. Strolling through the ivy, the speckled light beaming on the crumbled earth was just enough to guide the way forward, boots barely making a sound.
Squawk
Stopping dead, a cold trail prickled along his back. The boy made the slowest tilt back possible to peak throught the canopy, trying to avoid detection. Too late, looking with a ghostly green eye, a monsterous raven was stalking with keen interest, perched almost serenely upon it’s watch point. Ravens weren’t notorious borrower hunters, seeing people like him often as a chore to catch and consume. But rats...rats were their favourite.
And he was dressed as one.
Atreus
“Father, what do you think had Sindri so shook?”
“Anything, boy. The dwarf has a talent for fear.” No denying that, agreed the doe eyed boy. Sindri did fear just about everything.
Crouching did nothing for the chalk giant, disgruntled grunts sounding out amongst the overhead drips of droplets every time his bald head scraped the sandpaper rough ceiling. It’s one of the few examples in life that made Atreus happy to be short. Yowls were coming from further into the mineshaft, but drauger were a minor setback, easily dispatched.
“Be on your guard boy, we are nearing danger.”
Jojo
“Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuck-“ How could one bird be more persistent then all the drauger in the world?
SSSSSQQQQUUUUUAAAAAARRRRRRRKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!
Too close! Every attack was only wearing the borrower down more; the saving grace from this endless stream of dive bombs was that in the bird’s haste, it made enough flapping to give its location away at all times, making it easier to dodge. But now Jojo was lost, lost and close to just falling down if his quaking limbs were anything to go by.
Atreus
“Well that was easy.”
A sagely look was drawn toward Atreus, not angry, but not impressed, “Easy because there are two of us, boy, but don’t let your guard down because you perceive an enemy as ‘easy’.”
Always one to lecture. “Yes sir.”
The cave entrance as coming into sight, stoic father and brash son walking side by side. With electrical arrows at the ready and frosty axe drawn the odd pair walked into daylight, sun illuminating the thick blood staining their skin and wares. Both were ready for any kind of battle ahead, be it fierce or simple.
Well, except for the kind of battle that they stumbled onto.
“Father? What’s wrong with that bird?” Quizzed Atreus, looking up, but Kratos was busy scanning the wooded field
“It hunts for prey boy, pay it no mind.” No beating around the bush.
“But it looks like one of Odin’s crows.”
The barely there expression of strained, chalk temples and widening, heavy set eyes might as well have been a scream.“Shoot it down.”
This rarity was not lost on the boy, heart pounding in response. If his ever-stoic dad was frightened, this was more of a danger than he had anticipated. Wasting no time, Atreus locked on as the bird went for another dive, and let loose a wizzing arrow. It fired true puncturing the breast and punching through to the other side with a resounding crack of the rib cage. The creature never hit its mark, breaking apart in a surprising burst of green flame, but never actually setting anything on fire. The witchcraft of Odin was strange indeed.
The boy couldn’t feel pleasure out of his elegant kill, still too shaken by what he’d seen. Atreus knew better than to ask his father what was wrong, the man would switch on him like a rabid dog driven mad by rabies if any fear was ever acknowledged.
“We go on, boy.”
Kratos took the lead, heading further uphill into the tree trunk horizon, sun spilling over the crest and illuminating some of the lower valley where the boy stood. Atreus made no move to follow. If he was to get answers, it would have to be now whilst his father charged on unaware. Tip toeing over to where the bird would have fallen, eyes trained on his father, the archer found his arrow wedged fast into the soft earth with wandering hands. Turning his gaze for just a moment to inspect his find, there were signs of burns, suggesting that the animal must’ve been made of pure magic; probably a spy of some kind if Odin had anything to do with it, the man was notoriously suspicious and crafty (even all seeing as his mother had mentioned) so would want to know at all times what was going on in midguard. Hold on... pulling the tip of the spear out, a rat skin sat pierced at the end. Weird thing was though, it was clean, even looking tanned on the inside like some kind of weird miniature hooded tunic! This wasn’t an animal the crow had caught and killed, but clearly was worn by the thing that the bird was after on the ground. Wait... Sindri mentioned not killing any rats, but this one was allowed to die and be made into clothes, meaning Freya wasn’t protecting the rats at all. Sindri was lying, he was protecting whoever wore this tunic-
“BOY! COME!”
Oops. He’d zoned out too long.
“Father, I think Sindri was lying!”
Footstep were coming down behind him in a charge. Curiosity wouldn’t let him leave, but flight was making his feet flitter and shake, ready to take off from the raging bull behind him.
“Did I just not tell you to follow?! The dwarf is of no concern-“ Fighting curiosity won over.
“DAD! Just. Look.”
Turning back and presenting the tunic to the man who’d finally reached him, the golden hue burned brightly with hatful embers down at the find. Just as quickly the gaze focused back on the child. He neither cared nor understood.
“It’s a tunic, made from the skin of a rat. Sindri said the rats here were under the protection of Freya, but if that were true, this one wouldn’t be dead and Odin’s ravens wouldn’t dare go after it. Sindri’s hiding something.”

Could you do some loki and borrower Clint fluff ?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“If I lift this glass, are you planning on running?” The enormous figure above Clint asks; it’s in a drawl that almost seems bored, or maybe amused.
Clint, for his part, doesn’t fuck around when he answers a blunt, “Hell yes I am.”
Who the hell wouldn’t?
Loki’s lips twitch up, amusement blooming into something visible rather than muted at the answer. “Well, I do applaud your honesty.”
In hindsight, maybe Clint should’ve played ball for a little bit - because Loki disappears for a second just to return with a thick piece of card stock, which he slips beneath the rim of the glass and, subsequently, under Clint’s legs. With it, he lifts the entire prison. Clint goes tumbling back a ways until his hands hit glass, incredibly uncomfortable with the suddenly blurring landscape.
“Hang on- where are we going, I didn’t sign up for this ride-”
His answer is less than reassuring. Loki lowers him down, down, down into an even larger glass prison - an aquarium, it seems. Dry, empty, lidless, and sitting on a table about waist-height so that he’s face to face with Loki’s crotch for a minute. Loki is, at least, exceedingly careful with him. The entire glass comes down, the card stock hits the bottom, and he carefully removes them both without jostling Clint too much.
“You know, I did have the intention to put a pet in this - I wasn’t decided, yet, between a fish or some kind of small mammal. Maybe a snake...”
Clint strides up to the glass so he can knock on it impatiently. “Yeah, no, excuse me - that’s not gonna happen. I’m not a pet, and I swear to god I definitely bite.”
Loki only hums softly, replying in a sort of sing-song, “We’ll see. Perhaps we’ll take bets on how long it takes you to change your mind.”
He thinks the interaction’s over when Loki strides away, but he returns just a moment later with two Saki cups; one with filtered water, the other some bits of fruit, cheese, and chicken.
...Well, he was hungry.

Furry Friends
Tumblr media
Summary: In which Edgar the cat, draws Loki's attention to a certain creature. Picture above is what Edgar looks like. Enjoy!
“No Edgar!” Loki shouted at his furry friend. Edgar was his black, long-haired cat who he had named after a Midguardian author he’d taken a liking to. Edgar now tried to knead Loki’s bedsheets that had been freshly washed; creating tiny holes and pulls in the string that made his nerves tick. Never mind that he had gotten a giant platform scratcher for the rascal as the adoption agency had recommended.
Loki gently picked Edgar up by the middle and set him in his lap, petting him tenderly. Edgar purred loudly and began to knead the cotton fabric of his shirt. Loki sighed and let him continue, coming to the conclusion that this was a futile battle.
His stomach growled lowly. Loki realized that all of today he hadn’t eaten a thing. He’d been too focused on his work to take care of himself. He scolded himself promising to be better to his body and mind. But he did have good reason for being so engrossed in his work. He had found a passion for investigating old and unusual artifacts. People came by frequently to his shop that was located just below his apartment. He had studied a broad spectrum of artifacts from an ancient coin that had been given to a poor fisherman by mermaids in exchange for his help to towering statues of gods he didn’t even recognize. But today had been a most curious discovery. Tiny houseware, such as pots and pans to scraps of clothing and shoes that couldn't even fit his pinkie finger, donated to him by a withering old woman who claimed to have seen “tiny people.” Researching, he had come across a race known as borrowers. In his long time of life, he’d never known such tiny people existed. Now that he had evidence that they were real, he was mesmerized by the thought of tiny civilizations. Had they been under his nose the entire time? Unseeable to lumbering giants such as himself? Hence to why it was now 7 o’clock and he rose to get off his bed eager to fill his belly.
Lifting Edgar off him, he set him on the floor next to his bare feet and padded to the kitchen. Tying his dark hair back in a low bun, he set to making pasta; a quick and easy solution to his grumbling stomach. Filling a pot with water to boil, he set it on the gas stove and cranked the dial. He didn’t know how to make the homemade sauce so he opted for the store-bought kind in a glass jar and set to heating it. The water bubbled rapidly and he put the dry pasta noodles into cook.
Edgar rubbed at his ankles reminding Loki it was also dinnertime for him. He opened a can of wet food and watched as Edgar dug in happy with his canned meal. Soon his own meal was complete and he sits down in his big, comfy chair picking up an old, beaten Shakespeare novel.
As he turned a page a low growl cut through the silent air. Loki turned around confused and left his empty bowl on the coffee table.
Edgar was hissing at the counter as if something stood up there. Loki ambled closer to get a better look. His breath was taken away from pure astonishment from what he saw.
The tiniest being he’d ever seen was standing by the colander he’d used to drain his noodles.
They were real.
Tiny people were real.
And one was in his house.
He realized they were also looking at him but with fright and not curiosity.
Before he could open his mouth they dashed away faster than he thought anything that small could run. However, they didn’t get far as Edgar jumped onto the counter and blocked their way. Edgar swiped a black, clawed paw at the tiny person. They screamed in terror and tried to back away throwing their small arms over their head. Loki came out of his trance and hastily grabbed the ferocious animal and dropped him to the floor. A thump told him Edgar had landed feet first.
His eyes returned to the small person who shook terribly and held their arm as if it were hurt. Loki stepped forward, partially to see them better and to help. This person was having none of that and scrambled backward, falling onto their backside.
“You’re hurt,” Loki said bluntly.
“And what do you care. You sent your beast after me! I-I’ll be fine.” They said angrily, though their voice shook terribly.
“I didn’t know he was going to do that!” Loki yelled. He regretted it as the small person covered their ears.
“Look… I’m truly sorry for Edgar...er my beast as you called him.” He glanced up to see their expression.
“What is your name?” He asked trying to find some better ground.
They crossed their arms over their chest. Loki tracked the movement, awed by how their arms were smaller than a pencil. Heck, they were even shorter than his thumb!
“It’s Y/n.”
Loki smiled, grateful they had at least given him that much.
“Well Y/n, my name is Loki. And I know you don’t want my help but I offer it anyway. Please I only want to mend your arm and then you can be on your way. Consider it my apology for the previous events.”
He saw their minds turning gears and expected them to say no.
“Fine.” They huffed.
Loki’s eyes widened and he nodded quickly running to grab supplies. He felt like a kid in a toy store whose mother had agreed to buy him a new gadget.
They are a person, he reminded himself. And he would treat them as such, no matter how small they were. Coming back, he bore gauze, scissors, and a small roll of medical tape. Even though it was the smallest one he had, he would still have to cut it inches shorter to fit the diameter of Y/n’s arm.
He saw them eyeing the scissors skeptically and reassured them that it was not for the dismembering of their limbs but to only cut the gauze and tape down to a proper size. Once he had done so he gestured for them to hold out their bleeding arm. His fingers felt like tree trunks next to the twig-sized extremity. He locked eyes with Y/n and saw the hope and trust in them.
This little being was putting their life’s trust in him. A giant.
Loki was humbled.
He took much care as he wrapped the gauze around their arm, checking to be sure it wasn’t too tight or loose. He secured it with tape and patted it gently to signal he was finished.
For a moment they sat there in awkward silence until Y/n spoke.
“Loki?” Their voice was small.
He bent down to be level with their body and widened his eyes.
“Could you help me back to my house?”
“You live here?” He asked amazed.
They nodded and said “You’ve never spotted me. But now I guess I’ll have to go now then.” They hung their head.
“Why do you have to go?” He asked confused, cocking his head.
“When a human sees us we have to leave. It’s the borrower code.”
Loki just smiled, “Well one thing I’m not even human myself. And secondly, I would really like it if you stayed. It gets lonely around here.”
Y/n looked up at him with bright Y/E/C eyes and raised themselves up on tippy toes.
“You truly mean it? You want me to stay?”
“Well of course. I’ll get Edgar to be more situated around you.” As if hearing his name the black cat leaped and perched on the edge of the countertop. Y/n backed away in fear, and to their surprise closer to Loki’s fist. They could’ve sworn it opened slightly ready to save them if the beast pounced.
To both Loki and Y/n’s surprise, the cat looked directly at Y/n and lay down to roll over and expose its belly to them. As if the mighty creature wanted them to rub it. Y/n hesitantly walked forward from the shelter of Loki’s hand and placed a hand in the soft black fur. A vibrating sound came from the animal and sent Y/n scrambling back.
“It’s okay...he’s just purring. That means he likes it.” Loki said softly, he nudged with two fingers at their back to lead them forward.
Y/n continued to pet him again until he rolled over and set his head to rest upon his paws coming eye-to-eye. Setting a hand on the bridge of his nose, he let out another series of purrs earning a smile from Y/n. Loki beamed from the sweet sight.
Y/n yawned, and Loki sobered up and set out a palm to boost them to their quarters. They took it gratefully and relished the lack of energy they had to spend.
“Oh, you can just set me right there.” Y/n pointed to the shelf above his counter. Sure enough, there was a small hole three fingers wide.
“So this is where you’ve been hiding.” He murmured.
Y/n nodded and stepped off his hand. Before they could disappear into the wall Loki called for them to wait.
Confused, they turned around and saw Loki holding out a them-sized portion of spaghetti. They gratefully accepted and retreated into the wall.
“What's on the menu tomorrow?” They turned around to ask Loki in a burst of courage.
Loki crossed his arms and smirked.
“Come back and you’ll find out.”
Oh, they would.
