#growing up with massive pokemon phases

ah, fellow mutual. i see you also have a dark past. I have a few I can share. it's on anon so idm.
CONFESSION TIME:
1) I have an abandoned Hetalia YT channel with almost a million views
2) wrote fairly popular mystic messenger fic(s) in ao3 before(around thousand-ish kudos), disappeared and still get emails about said fic(s)
3)did i mention i had a really cringey Hetalia phase (most of us do but hhhhh im probably the textbook example of a cringe Hetalian). i feel you DEEPLY.
have you also heard of brothers conflict? that anime is also pretty bad, if not worse. and since this is anon, I HATE TO SAY IT'S MY GUILTY PLEASURE(it holds sentimental value, ig). It's so bad, it's good. Fuuto can go f himself.
Mysterious Anon Mutual I'll be honest I don't remember what I said in a post or tags recently to bring on this confession but it was a nice surprise to receive a message to remind me I'm not the only one who has to live with the burden of having been a Hetalia fan in the past.
Because my anime journey began in like 2008/2009 (as in, moving past growing up on Pokemon, and seeing Dragon Ball Z on Nicktoons all the time and being introduced to like 4 parts of a show on Youtube subbed), Hetalia was of course one of the series I found since the anime came out at that time. I don't engage with the fandom at all anymore, and although I consumed every bit of it as a third or fourth grader I wasn't like contributing to the fandom at all. I loved the character songs, I read all the fanfics, but I consider myself not attached to the more majorly problematic parts of the fandom since I only cared about the Nordics, lol. It's really sad for me to think about the series tbh, and I've brought this up before, because cosplayers are doing "glow ups" or showing their first cosplay vs now and I can't do that because 1) I don't have any photos of mine because it was all on flip phones lost to time and 2) I was Iceland from Hetalia so if I do ever decide to just remake my Iceland cosplay to show my own growth as a cosplayer (even if I can't show old photos to compare to) I would have to attach a massive disclaimer to any post I make about it.
In terms of MysMe, I don't actually consider that to be cringey? I was engaged in the fandom at the time and remember when reset theory was first proposed but I didn't really contribute outside of one or two pieces of fan art. I'm more into Dandelion and kind of want Cheritz to release a new game already but they're still riding the MysMe money I guess.
As for Brother's Conflict, UNFORTUNATELY I AM WITH YOU. I watched Brother's Conflict around the time I was diving through a ton of otome game based anime, like Diabolik Lovers and Kamigami no Asobi (so like 2014 when KnA aired). I think the anime of Brother's Conflict is good because it doesn't end on any romantic route, although the opening visuals and the lyrics of both OP and ED are questionable. I just have to laugh at any series that has stepparents getting married without ever having their kids meet, because like WHO WOULD DO THAT, and especially in these shows because the like Ema's dad was close to her??? So why would he like SURPRISE HER and not tell her about the brothers in advance or have her meet the other half of the family??? Contrivances all of it. My favorite was Louis, since he was like the most put together and could speak to Juli, although I will admit I also looked into the game briefly and liked one of his CGs don't look at me if you know what I'm talking about. Also, Fuuto always reminded me of Vernon from 17, so I guess I'll end on that random fact.

Charmanders evolution line was fun~ I’ve been making up little stories for each line as they evolve and grow. This one I imagined charmander beginning as a little girl who enjoyed stuff like skirts and frills but was a massive tomboy. Charmeleon is figuring out her identity still and is in that awkward transitioning phase from child to adult, but growing more confident and sassy everyday. Charizard has reached peek sass! She’s bold and bring and knows what she likes and doesn’t like and is not afraid to speak out about it! 😈 #pokemon #charmander #charizard #charmeleon #art #illustration #procreateart https://www.instagram.com/p/CP9BY00De_-/?utm_medium=tumblr

The plot generally, but admittedly some movies the actor(s) may be what draws me in initially. Do you have any phone charms on your mobile? No. Would you ever meet anyone you met online? I’d be really nervous. Are you more shy in real life or on the internet? In real life, definitely. Are you happy with where you're going in life? Not at all.

Pokemon Earth Story, Part 1
Ethan awoke to a light tapping noise that sounded something like his alarm. Rubbing his eyes, he slowly slipped into consciousness, realizing the sound was only, in fact, a Pikipek pecking a tree outside his dorm window. He rolled over and picked up his phone. The time flashed at him - 10:30. He’d slept through his first class.
He silently cursed and sat up in bed. Clearly he’d forgotten to turn his alarm on last night. He looked over at his Emolga, who was still fast asleep in the bed laying on his desk. His roommate, however, had already left. Ethan wished he would’ve woken him up. Oh well, he thought. It’s just one class.
He stood up and walked over to flip on the light switch, startling awake his sleeping Emolga. Emolga gave him a pouty face as though asking to turn back off the lights and go back to sleep. Ethan shook his head. “Not anymore, we’ve got class in half an hour.” Emolga gave another try, this time putting on its cutest face possible, but Ethan just shook his head and grabbed his backpack. “Let’s head out, little guy.” Disappointed, Emolga climbed up onto Ethan’s shoulder as they walked out of his dorm room.
Ethan had adopted Emolga back when he was ten, as was tradition. He knew a few people who’d gotten their first Pokemon at eight or nine, and a few who had never gotten one at all, but for the most part people chose their first Pokemon partner at age ten. He still remembered the moment vividly; he’d been in the middle of an electric-type phase, and was hoping to get an Electrike only to find there were none left when he arrived at the professor’s laboratory. Instead, he’d gotten Emolga. He didn’t regret his choice in the least. Ethan and Emolga had always gotten along, despite the occasional electric shock when Emolga didn’t get what it wanted.
At sixteen, when he could, Ethan had taken the test and gotten his Capture License, which was needed to catch any extra Pokemon to add to his team. Still, he’d never bothered catching anything else. Ethan didn’t really want to be a competitive Pokemon trainer; he was fine just spending time with his partner Emolga. The gym challenge was cool and all, but it was too much for Ethan.
As he stepped out of his dorm building, Ethan felt the sunrise wash over him. It was a perfect spring day in his picturesque university town, a small suburb located just outside of New York City. Evolution University was named by its founders in the hope that its students, just like a Pokemon, would be able to grow and change as a result of their education there. Its mascot, unsurprisingly, was an Eevee, and wild Eevee could be found roaming around campus. One, the only shiny Eevee on campus, was a favorite among students, and had an Instagram and a Twitter dedicated to it.
Ethan began to walk along the sidewalk, enjoying the light breeze and the perfect weather. He began to hum a soft tune as he strolled along. Emolga, for its part, was even more pleased about the weather than Ethan; its earlier exhaustion entirely forgotten, it soared off his shoulder and onto a nearby tree, gliding from branch to branch excitedly. As he walked, Ethan soon came upon the entrance to his university, decorated with a massive fountain where giant golden sculptures of Vaporeon shot out streams of water.
The entrance was packed with people, both students rushing from class to class and city residents enjoying a nice walk. He passed several people walking their Growlithes and Lillipups. Everything was peaceful; it was a perfect day.
The peace was interrupted by a sudden scream.
Ethan watched in horror as several Voltorb and Electrode suddenly rolled out into the crowd. That was odd; weren’t Voltorb banned in New York? Then the first Voltorb exploded and it dawned on him. This wasn’t an accident. Someone had deliberately released these Voltorb.
He knew what he had to do.
“Emolga!” he said. “Use Quick Attack!” Emolga wasn’t used to battling, but it quickly responded by darting at the nearest Voltorb, knocking it out in a single hit. Around him, Ethan heard screams of panic as people fled the scene, and deafening explosions as more and more Voltorb and Electrode went off. He needed to minimize the damage. “Emolga, keep going! Get as many as you can!” he yelled, though it was barely audible over the noise. Emolga dashed at the nearest Electrode, which responded with an electric shock, knocking Emolga back a few feet. Stunned but not defeated, Emolga responded with Acrobatics, knocking the Electrode out cold. By now, smoke filled the air and Ethan could hear police sirens wailing in the distance. “Emolga, get back!” he shouted as another Electrode exploded near his precious Pokemon. Emolga rushed back to his shoulder as Ethan coughed, breathing in the smoke. Realizing there was nothing he could do, Ethan began to run. The crowd had mostly dissipated, but it was hard to see and Ethan soon tripped over the curb, stumbling onto the ground. He didn’t have time to assess his injuries and get up before another explosion went off, and Ethan blacked out.

Breaking News
A terrorist attack using Voltorb and Electrode occurred today at Evolution University just outside of New York City. No deaths have been reported so far, and only a few injuries… A shadowy group calling themselves “Team Rocket” has claimed credit for the attacks. Police are investigating to determine who this “Team Rocket” is and what they want… Meanwhile, Evolution U is taking steps to increase security and-
Dawn turned off the TV and yawned. “Team Rocket,” she said to herself. “That’s weird, it’s like in that game Animals.” She looked over to her Pachirisu, which had fallen asleep out of boredom. Dawn shook it awake, experiencing a small electric shock as she did. “Ow!” she said, jumping back. Pachirisu laughed a little as it looked up at her.
“Sorry for waking you up, I guess,” Dawn said. “Let’s go on a walk. I’m bored.”
“Pachi pachi!” Pachirisu said cheerfully. With that, they were off.
Dawn was on spring break at her parent’s house, and only a few days in she had already exhausted everything there was to do. Other than homework, obviously. She was excited to get back to college and see her friends again, but the wait was so long and her parents were so excited to finally have her back home. Dawn sighed as she stepped out the door. It was no use reflecting on things; it was time to catch some Pokemon.
Dawn was something of a Pokemon collector. Ever since she’d learned to throw a Poke Ball - even before she had her Capture License - she’d been out catching Pokemon in her backyard. Her room was filled with piles of Poke Balls of bug and grass-types she’d managed to find, but Pachirisu was the only one of any real significance to her. Dawn’s ultimate goal was to catch a legendary Pokemon, but she was a long way away - the rarest Pokemon she’d ever found was a Trapinch, and then it turned out that it belonged to her neighbor and had accidentally escaped from his house. Still, she kept trying.
Her house backed up to a forest, which was useful for looking for wild Pokemon. The sun was setting as she crept past the hole in the fence and into the tree-lined depths. Dawn paused to appreciate the weather. It really was perfect outside. She and Pachirisu strolled along the trail, keeping their eyes out for any Pokemon they could spot. A Caterpie - she already had three of those. A Ledyba - she already had two of those. It seemed like her search was going to be in vain, when suddenly she heard a familiar buzzing sound from just off the trail. That could only mean one Pokemon.
“A Yanma!” she said to Pachirisu. She’d only ever found one Yanma before, and it had ran away before she’d been able to catch it. This time, she wasn’t letting it go. Dawn dashed into the undergrowth with Pachirisu close behind, and soon spotted the Yanma flying above them. She lobbed a Poke Ball at it. Missed.
“Pachirisu, use Spark!” she yelled, as Yanma began to flee. Both of them ran after it, Pachirisu climbing up into a tree and using it as a launch point to jump onto the Yanma’s back and give it a powerful electric shock. The Yanma, now struggling to fly, kept going, pushing deeper and deeper into the woods. Dawn climbed over fallen branches and thick plants, hoping she didn’t accidentally wander into any poison ivy. (She’d made that mistake before.) Soon, they came across a clearing - a small pond and what looked to be an abandoned playground. She’d never been here before, and didn’t recognize it.
Dawn didn’t pay attention to her surroundings, instead throwing another ball at the Yanma. This time, it landed, and Yanma went inside as Pachirisu leaped onto the nearest tree branch and scurried back down to her side.
The ball ticked back and forth. Click. Click. Click. Click! Yanma was caught!
Dawn pumped her fist in the air in excitement. She’d finally caught a Yanma. As she ran over to grab the Poke Ball, she heard a faint, ominous sound coming from the playground.
She picked up the Poke Ball. The sound grew louder.
Now that she took the time to think about it, Dawn realized she had heard of this place before. An abandoned playground by her house. They had meant to build a new development in the area, but were scared off by-
Oh no.
Dawn didn’t stick around to see what kind of terrifying ghost Pokemon lurked in the area. She dashed back into the woods, running as fast as she could through thick undergrowth. Finally, she emerged on a trail, but it wasn’t the trail she’d come from. In fact, it wasn’t a trail she recognized at all.
It finally hit her - she was lost.

Kabu One-Shot:
falling
Anonie Requested: ❝Why hello there~ I love your blog it is amazing and perfect and if it's okay, may I ask a super special awesome request? Oh pretty please (-^.^-) (I think most of us anons all love Kabu and think hes MEGA hawt.) Anyhoo~ How would Kabu feel about a shy female trainer that totally respects him, fangirls about him, practically knows his gym leader career story and has a massive crush on him? Thankies~ ♡❞
Another Anonie Requested: ❝Hiiii~ I absolutely love your blog♡ You capture Kabu perfectly. If it's okay to ask, how would Kabu react to hearing the female reader has a massive crush on him from Nessa and Milo and that she's coming by later to challenge him? She is a huge fangirl yet super shy and a little clumsy. Thank you~ ^.^❞
- I hope you don't mind anonies but these two requests were quite similar so I combined them here.
- I went on a different route with this than I think you guys wanted and I'm really sorry about that. Totally understand if you want me to write another one.
- The original draft of this is a lot fluffier but it got slightly angsty somewhere. It is a bit sensitive but I don't think it's quite enough to tag it as such. Do tell me if any of you feel differently. ♡
- I had loads of fun writing this though! That's why it's like 2.5k words dndns there is a surprise in this one-shot that I usually don't like doing but for some reason just felt like it I guess.
- I hope you guys enjoy!
- Gosh I was editing at 12AM and I meant to post it then but I fell asleep with the phone in my hand uuuugggghhhhsgshs AHH! I'm kinda mad at myself, but aight whatever lmao.
You were making breakfast while you listened to the commentator tell you what happened in the battles. This one piqued your interest when they announced Kabu as a challenger, someone you admired ever since you first saw him on the telly. Your admiration grew when you had gotten the opportunity to battle him, it was your first time in his presence. You had walked carefully to where you needed to wait, you thought he was taking longer since the last two Gym Leaders were already in the middle of the Stadium when you got there, you expected it to be the same process. You heard footsteps behind you as you waited and curiosity made you turn your head to see who was approaching.
"Mister Kabu!" You stammered. "Its nice to meet you, er, sir!" One could barely notice that your hand was trembling as you offered it to the older man. Kabu has had a lot of nervous challengers, many of them consumed by their worries and it impacts their battling. This is something he acknowledged straight away as he took your hand and gave it a firm shake.
"Don't be nervous, kiddo. Do your best for yourself and for your Pokemon. They'll be grateful whether you win or lose." You smiled warily, but you tried to give a firm nod to show that you were determined to do as he said. He was going to let you go once you started walking forward, however, his hold on you tightened while his other hand quickly found your shoulder to save you from falling.
"I'm sorry," You murmured, keeping your eyes on the crowd in front of you to avoid his. "Only I would trip on air at a time like this." Once you were standing upright, his grip was gentle as he continued holding your fingers.
"Let me escort you," He requested. "There seems to be a high probability that you'll find a way to trip again." He recalls the few times he has seen you near the Stadium almost falling or crashing into something.
"Thank you," Your reply was barely audible, and to your heart's distress, he gave your hand a comforting squeeze.
Your nerves were still causing you to second-guess yourself and even though you truly did try to clear your mind, the end result was your loss against Kabu. He escorted you back to the dressing room as well, telling you to not give up and come back after training yourself to where you want you and your Pokemon to be. You weren't completely discouraged, you could see where you went wrong in your battle.
You flipped Kabu's league card between your fingers wondering how you could grow as a trainer. One thing you didn't want him to see you as was "kiddo" and to do that you felt like you had to carry yourself with more confidence or at least try to. You placed the card back where you also had his rare League Card given to you by Nessa as a gift.
You'd become close to the first two Gym Leaders, especially Milo. He's such a nice and open person, you find yourself talking about anything almost entirely unfiltered. Milo still remembers when he asked if you were Kabu's fan considering how you talked about him, he still doesn't know if it was a mistake. You knew he was invited from Hoenn, you knew that Kabu is one of the few people that can say he nearly defeated the Champ, and you had a good grasp on his battle style. Needless to say, the last thing he expected was to see you come back defeated.
"What happened?" Milo questioned, guiding you to where his Wooloo were. He knew you liked to play with them or care for them when you felt down or needed to think. You inhaled through your nose and exhaled through your mouth one long breath, struggling to think of an answer for him. You knelt down by a Wooloo and started moving your hand over its thick, fluffy coat. It's so soft, it has always comforted you to do that, and Milo never forgot that about you since he first found out.
"I've gotta train harder I s'pose." You felt all of your worries rush into your head; doubts, fears, and guilt. Doubting your skills as a trainer, fearing you'll never grow as a person, feeling guilty that your Pokemon trusted you and you failed them as far as you're concerned. "Am I a good person?" You ask in what sounded like a whisper. "Do you think my Pokemon will still trust my decisions?"
"You are an amazin' person, (Name)." He pulled you up so that you could walk with him surrounded by happily prancing Wooloo. "And you're Pokemon are not goin' to stop relying on you after only one defeat. They probably know that you did you're best because I know you did. You always do." You sniffled, but he didn't see any tears streaming down your face or even a sign that you were going to cry. You appeared to be relieved and much happier than you were sad.
"I really like you, Milo. You're a good friend." Making you feel better always made him smile. "Thank you," You said. Yet, there was always something bittersweet in knowing that he was helping you, comforting you, and giving you advice, all of that for you to be with someone else.
Saying you worked hard was an understatement, one could say you put blood, sweat, and tears into your battling strategies and your Pokemon training. Your team was as motivated as you were to get stronger and that's exactly what you did. You adopted many parts of Kabu's fire type battling style and managed to apply it to your diverse team. This continued for hours until you'd get tired and rest up in Motostoke or at Milo's when he assisted in your training. You passed by Kabu's Stadium at times in the morning, never failing to trip on the same old misplaced stone on the ground there. Then getting distracted when Kabu happens to be there and waves at you, causing you to be at risk for bumping into anything within your vicinity.
Kabu found your mannerisms endearing, if he was near enough to you when you walked by then he would wave at you, fully knowing you'll forget the world around you and trip on your own two feet. He does this while also knowing that he'll be there to catch you. At first it was a polite thing, you were bound to fall and he didn't want that to happen, but it later became him wanting to hold you. He was in love with your habits, your expressions, your reactions, the blush on your face, your nervous laughter, and your presence. In spite of his emotions, he did not want to act upon them. He wanted to only be in love with you for a longer time and he wanted to make sure he truly felt strongly for you because he didn't want to be in a relationship that he saw wouldn't last long. He was also worried about the fact that you were a fan, meaning you liked him though not in the way he's feeling. Even if you did, what if you were confusing that emotion for admiration? There were too many things that could go wrong and he didn't want to hurt you nor himself.
You have had similar thoughts. Unknowingly, you and Kabu were both terrified of hurting the other. You considered that perhaps your crush was on his face, nothing but a phase, a fan thing that would come and go. You only knew the Kabu that was shown by interviewers and articles, you didn't know much about him as a person, and you weren't sure if you were liking him for the right reasons. One thing you knew you would regret is never exploring what you felt and what could have been. There's really no way around pain, no matter what you did, even in a relationship, it happens and what people are expected to do is take it as a lesson from life. You wanted to be in love with him longer, you wanted to get to know him, you wanted to be sure that you knew you wanted to be with him, know if you two were compatible.
Kabu was having a practice match with Milo, who appeared surprisingly irritated. He knows that Milo is very patient, it's almost beyond him to get truly mad about anything. It's a difficult thing to annoy or anger the Turrfield Gym Leader. Kabu didn't press for details, but he knew Milo was battling to take away some sort of stress. Another rare thing since he usually does some sort of outdoor activity. Again, Kabu didn't ask for what happened, he was alright knowing that he was going to be helping Milo in some way, that was enough.
It was somewhere mid-battle when Milo had more Pokemon than him not fainted that the freckled young man said, "You know, if you lose to the grass type Gym Leader then (Name) might stop crushin' on you!"
"Wait a moment. Pardon?" He thought he heard that entire sentence wrong. He blinked a few times before he realized he actually heard that right. "She has a... oh." He found himself unable to say the rest of what he was thinking. Milo stared at the older man, who looked both pleased and shocked by what he told him. Milo wanted to know just how far away from your heart he was compared to Kabu, who's name you held close despite everything Milo has done in an attempt to catch even the slightest bit of your attention.
"(Name)'s comin' round soon to battle you," His usual smile and positive demeanor wavered as he spoke. "I would be careful if I were you, she's been workin' real hard to win." Milo never finished the match, he ended up walking back to Turrfield, knowing he wanted to be happy for you since he knows exactly what he saw in Kabu's expression.
Kabu went as he usually did, battling trainers that challenged him around this time, training with the water types, and making sure his team was at their best. A new thought that kept crossing his mind was whether or not he wanted to act upon what he knew. He had all these fears, but all of them could be proven wrong if he only asks you to let him be in love with you, take you to places you both might like, and if it works out, hopefully place the foundation of a long-lasting relationship where he won't be waking up alone in the mornings.
It all felt the same when you stood once more in the hall, this time knowing Kabu would stand next to you.
"As time passed, the probability of you falling most likely increased," You heard his voice beside you. After he got a short bashful laugh out of you, Kabu offered his hand. "Will you let me escort you once again?"
"Thank you," You said. You still struggled to get it any higher than a whisper, but he heard it clearly today. It was still soft-spoken, however, it had a sense of self-assurance that meant you found some confidence. "I hope you know, this time I'll be getting that badge."
"We'll see, have you gotten any stronger?" He teased. His question made you eager to show him exactly how much you and your team have grown. You were definitely going to defeat him this time.
It was a hard fought battle by the both of you. It was one of the most tense and passionate battles that the Motostoke Stadium has had in a while. Every single person was on the edge of their seats wondering which Pokemon would faint. One barely dodging an attack, one getting hit directly yet surviving, this is where you and Kabu were the most similar. You both, along with your teams, were resilient, your Pokemon were ready to use all the energy they could to give their respective trainers the win. You and Kabu were on one Pokemon each, his Gigantamax was gone, your partner was clearly tired. In the end, the crowd burst into shouts and cheers as you ran towards your Pokemon with a big grin on your face, ecstatic that you had won.
"Good job, buddy. You rest up now," You said as you called your Pokemon back into its Pokeball. You held it close to your chest for a moment then jogged towards Kabu who was expecting the moment you fell over and he ended up holding your forearms, just before your elbows. You wanted to ask him then and there yet the words wouldn't go past being something you imagine.
"I'm glad I got to battle you today, great job. You bested my team. I shall give you the badge as proof that you've defeated me," He spoke formally. You felt the cold metal placed against your palm and you clutched in your hand.
"Thank you, truly, Kabu." You were pleasantly surprised by the smile on his face. You had a hard time making eye-contact with most people, nevertheless you still attempt to look at them.
"If you continue to trip near me..." He noticed that you weren't staring at his eyes, yours were either oddly on his chin or on his lips. This flustered him ever so slightly and he cleared his throat to continue talking, "I may start to assume you're falling for me."
"Well, I think your assumption would be correct." You shyly waved at the crowd with one hand while Kabu held the other one to take you back to the changing room. Your face flushed knowing that how you felt was now out in the open. "Would it be too much to ask for you to consider a date?" He stopped in the waiting room, at a loss for words that you had actually asked him. His silence caused you to tilt your head down, absolutely embarrassed that you tried.
"You don't have to," You stuttered, your voice went back to it's much less confident murmur. "I suppose you think I've lost my plot, I'm sorry I asked!"
"You haven't lost anything," He quickly defused your thoughts and worries. "Please do not apologize for merely stating how you feel." He slowly nodded when he noticed your eyes flickered to him then the exit. "Allow me to consider it. I'm not quite sure of my own emotions, though I think I feel the same."
"Alright," You replied quietly. "Consider it then, but I—" You bit your lip, feeling it quiver between your teeth. You calmed yourself after a sharp exhale. "Don't keep me waiting, this type of waiting hurts... a lot."
"You know those are never my intentions, (Name)." He places his hand on your head affectionately. "I care about you more than you will ever know."
"I trust you," You told him slowly. Your gaze met his this time, both trying to express honesty. With that, you left with uncertainty looming over your heart as you made your way to a place where your shaking hands would find comfort on soft Wooloo.

Survey #265
“all is fair in love and war, i’m still rotten to the core.”
What's the latest youtube channel you've discovered and binge-watched? Ha, a WoW channel that basically gives advice and tutorials on stuff. She doesn't have many videos, but she's pretty successful already and chill as hell. Kraken Latte. Does it snow where you live? Occasionally. Very rarely does the snow stick, though, because the ground will be too warm. Do you think your hair looks better long or short? Short. Do you look best with or without bangs? Bitch I loved my emo bangs fuck off. Well, they weren't technically bangs, my hair was just parted far to the left. Do you enjoy editing photos on your phone? Well, my phone doesn't have GREAT camera quality, but I usually do some subtle edits if I take a pic on it. What's your favorite thing to do on your phone? Play Pokemon GO REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Which season do you wish would last longer? Shit man, fall. At least here, the phase of colorful leaves is VERY short. Goes from green to totally bare in what feels like just a couple weeks. How many outdoor birthday parties have you had? Hell if I know. How much taller or shorter are you than your mom? We're the same height. Who is your favorite sibling? Lol wow that's mean. Do you have neat handwriting? Yeah. Do you like sushi? I've actually never tried it, but I'm quite certain I wouldn't like it. Have you ever tried seaweed? Actually yes, I believe in the 4th grade? We had I think authentic Japanese (or Chinese, idr) food, and I recall there being seaweed. I didn't like it. The only thing I liked was the white rice, I think. Do you have an actual pig-shaped piggy bank? No, but I think I may have as a kiddo. Did you dream of becoming famous as a kid? No. Have you ever been to a gynecologist? I actually haven't because I've always said I wasn't sexually active (back then it wasn't a conscious lie, I just genuinely didn't realize what we were doing was just shallow sex). I'm absolutely terrified to go anyway because I'm just very very very private about this sort of thing and honestly think I'll have a panic attack when I do have to for the first time anyway. Name three games that you are good at. Shadow of the Colossus, Silent Hill, World of Warcraft. What was your favorite board game as a kid? Ha ha, somehow, it was this shopping game called "Mall Madness." Veeeery unfitting of who I was and what I enjoyed as a kid. Do you get on Facebook every day? Pretty much. Did you watch the Kids Choice Awards when you were a kid? No. What was your favorite girl group when you were growing up? Spice Girls, I think. Do you have memories that still make you cry? Yes. Have you made your own mask to help prevent the spread of the virus? No, considering I don't leave the damn house like ever. Do you know anyone who has the virus? Yes. Not personally, but distantly. Are you proud to be an American? (if applicable) Sometimes. What countries have you visited? I haven't left America. Have you ever had a controlling boyfriend/girlfriend? No. How many true heartbreaks have you had in your lifetime? Romantically, I only consider one to be a *real* heartbreak. Have you ever cut yourself? Yeah. Do you feel like everything is falling apart around you? BOY DO I!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Was your first kiss romantic? Yes. Do you miss any of your exes right now? My PTSD has been awful awful AWFUL the past few days, so yes. A lot. Have you ever overdosed on anything? Yes. What would you say if you found out your last ex was in a relationship? I'd be happy for her of course, but I'd also be very confused. She's made it clear she doesn't believe a relationship is the best idea for her right now. Who was your date to prom? Jason took me to his senior prom, and I took him to mine. Do you still talk to your first love? No, I haven't spoken to him in over three years now. Wow. Whose wedding did you go to first? I don't remember. I'm sure it wasn't the first, but ONE of the earliest that I do remember was when my friend Summer's mom got remarried. He sadly passed away a long while ago though. Are you ashamed of anyone you've dated in the past? Tyler, yes. It was so pointless and a "let's see how this goes" versus a "I really like this guy and really want this relationship" thing. I honestly think I only said yes to dating because I didn't want to hurt his feelings and I was lonely. What about anyone you've been friends with? There were certainly times it felt very weird calling Colleen my best friend with how bitchy she could be. Especially when you consider how non-confrontational I am, while she charged like a goddamn bull into arguments. Have you ever made out with someone in a pool? Uhhh I think that one night when I lived at the apartment and it was just us out there late at night. He and I went back inside before Jacob and Amanda TO hardcore make out because we both way too obviously wanted it so I wouldn't be remotely surprised if we snuck in some action at the pool oof. Who’s the last person that slept over your house? Sara. Do you still talk to the last person you kissed? Yes. Have you ever kissed someone with a tongue ring? No, I was the person with the tongue ring. I actually took it out a little while back because I was tired of accidentally chomping down on it when eating and chipping teeth. I'd already told myself if I did it one more time I would, and especially right now, we can't afford to keep filling cavities that have come from it. I don't at all regret getting it and it'll always be one of the cutest piercings I think I've ever had, but it was just time for it to come out. Is it hard for you to get over a lover? I THINK I'VE MADE THAT!!!!!!!!!!! O BVIO US S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have you ever tried making someone jealous? Not to my recollection. Did your last relationship end because of you or the other person? Both of us really, but she initiated the breakup, you could say. Who is the last person you flirted with? Sara. Who's the most racist person you know? Jesus Christ, I live in the South. I know dozens of racists. I guess the worst is uhhh OH the aforementioned Colleen, holy fucking shit. I highly highly highly doubt that has changed at all since we last associated with each other. If you could be a film character, who would you be? Let me be Alice Liddell. Crunchy peanut butter or smooth? Smooth is the only way to go with pb. Would you rather always be in a crowd, or be the only person on earth? "Always be in a crowd. It wouldn’t be fun, but I think it’d be better than being that alone." <<<< This. I legitimately think I'd wind up killing myself in the other case. Would you rather be rich, or famous? Why? "Rich, because...what’s the point of being famous if you’re not rich? Just everyone knowing all of your business?" <<<< Also this. Do you squeeze the toothpaste from the top or the bottom? "I start off from the top until it gets used enough that I have to squeeze up from the bottom." <<<< Lemme just steal all this person's answers lmao. How many children do you want? Girls or boys? None, but if I was to have kids, I'd definitely want a girl. Is there a story behind your name? What is it? No. What was one of the most fun things you and your college roommate did together? I didn't have a college roommate. Well wait no, during my first college attempt is when I lived w/ Jason, Jacob, and Amanda. I'd honestly prefer to not think too hard back on it to answer this. Does anyone know your bank pin number other than you? Who? I don't even have a bank account. Have you ever had a boyfriend/girlfriend who was depressed? Yeah, multiple. Would you be embarrassed to buy pads/tampons/condoms? Which one more? Pads or tampons, nah. I'd feel awkward buying condoms though. Are your parents gullible? Dad probably is; he has very little common sense. I got it from him lmao. Mom, heeeeell no. Do you still own a VCR? No. What color is the computer/laptop you’re on? Did you buy it yourself? It's black. No. Does the smell of cigarettes, weed and beer repulse you? All three do. Was the last person you kissed younger or older than you? Younger. Have you ever purchased Girl Scout cookies? Yeah. How often do you drink Monster? Never, because I don't like it. Have you ever made totally pointless videos with your friends? HAHA I was a cringy teen once, my friends. Do you like sitting on the inside or outside of a restaurant booth? Inside. I feel safer. Do you own a nightgown? No, I haven't worn those since I was a kid. Have you ever worn fishnets? Fishnet gloves. I WISH I could pull off fishnet pants. Would you rather go out to eat or be eaten out? In times like THESE???????? Bitch I wanna go eat out at a yummy restaurant. Do you always wear your seat belt? ABSOLUTELY. I get so stressed out when I see people not wearing one. Have you ever liked someone much older than you? Not much older. Have you ever been in a play? Just school ones as a kid. Is there ice cream in your freezer? No, but there's popsicles from when I couldn't get my tongue ring out and it was massively swollen and in terrible pain. Thank God I finally got it out. Have you ever liked the lyrics of a band but hated the music? Probably. Does your bathroom have a window? Yeah, but it's very small and up kinda high. Do you go somewhere to get your eyebrows done? I used to, but I don't anymore. I just leave them be. Do you believe prayer really works? Nope. Have you been on a date in the park? No. Are there any diseases/health problems that run in your family? A whole. Fucking. Lot. To just name a few, depression, high blood pressure, heart disease, cancer, diabetes... Do you have asthma? No. Last person to take off your pants, besides you? Jason. Least favorite alcoholic drink? Mother of God, this white wine I tried at Colleen's forever ago. It was fucking repulsive. How did you meet the last male you texted? I mean I literally came from his balls so like Have you ever had an embarrassing email address? Ha ha yeah, the one I've always had. It's not very adult-ish or "serious"-sounding, but I don't want to change it now. Do you put shampoo in your left or right hand? Left. I squeeze with my right. Do you have a bull ring through your nose? No, I don't feel that would look good on me. Do you and your dad get along? Yes. When was the last time you did clay work/pottery? My last year of art in high school. I made an anatomical heart for Jason. I wonder a lot if he still has it after how much work I put into it. Do you like art, hate it or just not mind it? I adore art. The world would be so much more boring without it. If you had to choose would you prefer dull pain for 12hours or sharp for 2? Ew, dull. Two hours with sharp pain sounds awful. Do you know the words to the national anthem of your country? Yeah. Would you rather be a Model, Famous Scientist, Singer or Chef? Scientist, probably. I'd love to be a biologist anyway, and that's a type of scientist. Would you rather be a pilot, crime scene investigator or estate agent? Ohhh, crime scene investigator. Does making others happy really make you feel happy? Yes! Did you ever swear at a teacher in school? Why? No. Have you ever pricked your finger on Holly or another ‘sharp’ plant? Yeah. Have you ever written your own short story? Yes. What about a novel? Or perhaps you started and couldn’t finish? "I started writing several novels, but abandoned them all." <<<< Same yo. Either of the above, if this was the case, place short synopsis here: The first one was about a very close meerkat family, divided into elemental "breeds," and the prince falling in love with another of his kind. His father had a stray brother who constantly aimed to destroy the family, but he was converted towards the end. That's all I can really remember about that one. There were others like two species of animals I made also falling in love, despite being predators and prey of each other, and fulfilling some sorta prophecy with their offspring. The other two I recall- yo fuck it I keep remember more and more okay I wrote a LOT. Do you prefer SciFi/Fantasy/Action/Horror or Rom/Com/RealLife? I'm guessing you mean in books, given the last three questions? I have a strong preference for fantasy. What do you have a lot of faith in [note: can be anything]? Hell if I know. Would you rather have a big house, a lot of kids or a high flying job? High flying job, easily. I don't want kids, nor do I need a large house, especially considering I hate cleaning even this tiny one. Have you ever been to a creepy/haunted/abandoned place? Yeah. What did it look like and what were the circumstances? It was this really old, mostly dilapidated shack full of cool stuff. It was by the field near our old house. Me, my sister, and our friend hung out there and explored all the time until this freaky woman showed out and told us we shouldn't be there. Do you know a Jack? What’s he like? Yeah. I don't him that well though, so idk. How about a Lisa? What’s she like? Yeah, she's one of my WoW friends that I've become really close with. She is an absolute sweetheart, but talks about herself way, way too excessively to the point it's hard to have a conversation sometimes. I know she doesn't realize it, though. When you have children, would you like twins? I say enough that I don't even want kids, SO FUCK NO. Do you know any twins? If so, what are they called? Yes. Tyler and Taylor. I know others, but idr their names. What personality trait does nearly everyone in your family seem to have? We're stubborn as all fuck hell. Do you have any nicknames that aren’t derived from your actual name? Yeah, some online ones and then my mom has called me "Twinkie" since I was a baby. Do you have any allergies? Yeah, of pollen and silver. What is the longest your hair has ever been? To or maybe even past the small of my back. Have you ever been on a blind date? No, not my jam. What is the oldest piece of clothing you still wear and how old is it? I really don't kn- oh yes I do. I have these oooold old thin and sewn-back-up-fifty-times Batman pj pants from when Jason and I were together, so maybe like... seven years? Thanks PTSD, I'm attached to them because Batman was his thing. How often do you eat out at a fancy restaurant? Just about never. Nutella or peanut butter? UGGGGGHHHHH I've been on a nutella thing lately. Have you ever hosted a wild party? Definitely not. Name/author of the last book you read cover to cover. Do you recommend it? Wings of Fire: The Lost Heir by Tui Sutherland. Yes, it was very good. How many of your Facebook friends do you actually hang with? Besides my immediate family, like... none anymore. Have you ever donated blood? Yes. From 1-10, how much do you like decorating for holidays? This is hard to gauge. I've never seriously done it myself, and I don't really have the motivation to do it just to take it all down a month or so later. I love it in concept, but yeah. Favorite animated Disney character? Probably Kiara from TLK2. Have you ever cooked a big family meal by yourself? Ha, no. Favorite winter activity? TAKING PICTURES IN THE SNOOOOOOOOW. Do you consider rapping singing? I mean I guess? Does your home have a fireplace? No. Do you listen to any religious music? No. Do you drink soda? If so, which one is your favorite? Ugh... soda is my weakness. I'd probably lose weight easier if I just stopped drinking it. Mountain Dew Voltage is my favorite, and I've also been on a serious strawberry Sunkist thing lately. How easily do you cry? I cry very, very easily. Can you handle spicy foods? What is your spice limit? Oh yeah. The only way I know how to gauge this one is that I enjoy the "hot" sauce at BWW lol. I've actually kinda cut back on HOW much I enjoy it, though; like I'm more into enjoying my food thoroughly lately than the adrenaline of spicy food. What day of the week is laundry day for you? I personally don't do the laundry because Mom prefers to just do ours together, so. It varies, I think. Have you ever played spin the bottle? No. Do you have any stickers on your laptop computer? If so, what are they of? Not on mine, but the one I currently have to use has tooons. I don't feel like looking at the lid trying to list what they are tho. How often do you say "y'all?" It's pretty much in my normal vernacular due to where I live. Do you believe in evolution? Yes. I have questions and curiosities about it, but when you consider how truly short it has been since considerable natural selection has been observed, why couldn't it exist on a bigger scale? Do you live in an apartment or a house? I live in a house. How long have you been at your current job? I'm unemployed. Have you ever ended a romantic relationship? Yes. Phrase you say the most? Probably "oof" lmao. Have you ever kissed anyone of the same gender? If so, did you like it? Yes and yes. Have you ever given anyone CPR? No. Have you ever learned to do anything from a how-to video on YouTube? Yes, mainly just editing stuff. Have you ever auditioned for a reality competition show? AKA died in spirit? :^) Have you ever been the victim of a nasty prank? Not to my recolleciton. Favorite fandom? Y'all been known, the Markiplier fandom is a goddamn family. Can you surf? No. What motivates you to do well in life? The knowledge that I've most likely only got one life to make something of. How lucky do you consider yourself? Ummm maybe distantly? I don't know anyone off the top of my head. Are you comfortable with watching rated R movies? Well yeah.

The Era of Mediocrity
2019 was a really big year for me. It was the year that I really started taking care of myself and began moving towards a more mentally healthy situation. I started going out to events more often, filling my life with fun memories and awesome situations, got a good plan for the next few years of my life, and all in all truly grew as a person in a way that I hadn’t for a long time.
However...2019 was also the year that I realized that we are living in the Era of Mediocrity, at least when it comes to big budget companies that control most of the entertainment we consume. This is directed at the Walt Disney Company and the Pokemon Company, mainly, but on a more personal level I was made aware of this through RWBY.
RWBY opened my eyes to the fact that a lot of the entertainment I’d come to love over the past few years has become...less than stellar than how it once was. Between Volume 6 and now Volume 7, I have seen a terrible shift in the way the writing is handled. The plots don’t make sense, the characters no longer feel real, and the whole narrative of each Volume seems to bend to the whim of the protagonists, promoting their actions as good and justified when they are anything but.
In spite of that, I can’t say that RWBY is a bad show, because it’s not. The animation is stunning--for something that started out with such stilted and jarring animation for anything that wasn’t a fight scene, this series has grown beautifully, as have how the voice actors in showing their skills and getting into the characters. It’s showing us a wider world, and seeing that worldbuilding is wonderful to me, a writer and worldbuilder.
However, it all hinges on expectations. After Volume 3, we were promised--in less words than actions, perhaps--that the show would get more serious, that it would treat the story with as much realism as it could while abiding by the fantasy. And yet, the writing in the recent Volumes has fallen short numerous times. Too many things happen in ways that don’t feel real, that don’t feel right, and it took me out of the show so much, that I dropped it.
But RWBY’s not the main reason for my frustration--it’s merely the tip of the iceberg. The true frustrations I have are with Disney and Pokemon.
This year saw the end of two incredible franchises under Disney’s wings--with Endgame finishing off the massive three-phase mission for the MCU, and Rise of Skywalker finishing off the new Star Wars trilogy. Now, I had no expectations that Rise of Skywalker would be a good movie. While I don’t hate the Last Jedi, it made it clear to me that the series was held together by pipe-cleaners and Elmers glue.
However, what I was frustrated with was Endgame. I was actually very excited to see this movie--I had loved Infinity War, and still do. It was one of the best movies to come out in 2018, honestly. However, the movie that followed was a poorly written fanfiction disguised as a Marvel movie. The characters were given unfulfilling storylines, treated like cardboard cutouts thrown into situations that didn’t make sense, and given direction that did not give them room to grow.
I mean, we all know about the wedding/funeral situation by now, right?
In spite of that...like with RWBY, I can’t say it was a bad movie. It just failed to be a good one in so many ways. The writing fell flat, the direction was terrible, but the fight scenes? The Avengers Assemble and final battle alone are some of my favorite movie moments of the series, and they just barely manage to save this movie from being a bad movie, to just a mediocre movie.
Along with Endgame, Disney released a few other movies as well--however, both of them were live-action remakes. Now, I will give credit where credit is due, and say that the live-action Aladdin does stand out from the original a bit--it adds to the story and gives it a new flavor that is nice...but it’s not great. It’s a good movie, but not one that I’ve felt inclined to return to--not even for any specific scene, like with Endgame’s Avengers Assemble.
On the other hand, though, we have the live-action Lion King. A movie that is almost frame-for-frame the exact same movie as the original 1994 Lion King movie. There are a few scenes here and there that were added in, but they weren’t necessary, and they didn’t add anything of substance to the story. It was, essentially, just a high-definition version of the Lion King, and with the expressions and actions, not a good one.
It finally sank in, for me, with Pokemon Sword and Shield, and especially with the new DLCs coming out this year. We had revealed to us that a Dex cut was coming and that only some of the old Pokemon would be returning to the new game. And yet, with the new DLCs, almost all of the old Pokemon will become available in the new games--but for an extra thirty dollars.
That was when I realized that the big companies have figured out that they don’t need to try anymore to make money.
Let me take you back in time, if I could, to 2004 and Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen. FireRed was my first Pokemon game, and I loved it. I still do, I still play with my old Gameboy from time to time. But, the important thing here is that these games came with a nice little feature that was a series of islands you could explore to, travel to, that were exciting and new. It’s an area that hasn’t shown up in any game since--the Sevii Islands.
The Pokemon SW//SH DLC coming out this year feels like that--it feels like the Sevii Islands from FR//LG, or the Battle Frontier from DPP. Its an area where you can get access to more and new Pokemon, maybe even legendaries, and face new and exciting adventures and challenges. However, the DLC costs extra, and doesn’t come with the base game.
They can call it a DLC all they want, but the truth is obvious--this is the rest of the game, the Battle Frontier, the Sevii Islands, that in previous games would’ve been baked into the game itself, but is now being sold for half of the main game’s total. This is the rest of the game, because they know they can give us something mediocre to keep us satisfied, and milk us for more money to give us the rest of the game.
Disney knows they’ll still make ridiculous money from their movies, so why bother making something original or new? Why give a series a satisfying ending, when you can just slap something quickly together and throw it out, and still make ridiculous money off of it? Why bother putting in the time, effort, and resources to make a full and incredible game, when you can just hold back and suck your players dry for more.
The point I’m trying to make is that the titans of the entertainment business are growing old, Disney especially. They’ve lost focus, and are now focused only on making money, and no longer on making art--or, at the very least, providing a service.
So where does that leave us? Well, the other name I’d give this is the Era of Indie. Small creators, small groups of people, are where I’ve found most of my enjoyment and entertainment for the past two years now. The Adventure Zone is a podcast that has better writing, character growth, and humor than any of the other shows I’ve already listed. Epithet Erased is a webseries that might not have the most eye-catching animation, but its concept, writing, and humor are wonderful and zany. Hollow Knight is a surprisingly dark game that costs a fraction of what SW//SH cost, and yet it is my favorite game on the Switch to date. And once Silksong comes out, I’m going to be going crazy for that, too.
And these are only the ones I, myself love--there are many others out there, too. The big names are letting us down, but that means that the young, the new, and the small can have a chance to grow. And, while I might not know exactly what will happen in the next ten years, I can say this.
I’m excited to see where the Era of Indie truly takes us next.

Underneath The Butts And The Dancing, Sarazanmai Is Beautiful
I truly believe that every anime season needs at least one "SHUT UP, DAD. IT'S CALLED 'ANIME'!" show. These are shows that, if a stereotypical sitcom Dad walked in on you watching them, they'd be a little tougher to explain than "This is Goku, and he likes lasers and push ups!" or "Gundam is about robots and anxiety." And that show, right now, is the wonderful Sarazanmai. Full of troubled teens with flashback-heavy story arcs, a parade of butt-related imagery, multiple dance sequences, and an idol character that says "Dish!" a lot, if I discovered it drunk at 2 AM, I'd think I was having a fever dream.
But, while it'd be easy to watch the first episode and deem this show as "haha random," the last few episodes have proven that Sarazanmai is a show with a lot of heart. It's hard to accurately capture the exhausting quest for identity that is middle school, but I feel like Sarazanmai does a pretty solid job with it. Its three main characters, Kazuki, Enta, and Toi are all desperately trying to figure out exactly what kind of people they want to be and also bond with each other and the world around them. And that's the toughest part of middle school: How do I become me?
A lot of times, in fiction, creators choose to tell their coming of age stories with either children (because the metaphors are a little more obvious and it's way easier to make the moral sweet if it's a kid), or high schoolers (because then you can center it around big events that signify obvious growth, like graduation or even prom night.) But in middle school, you're just kind of trapped...with you. No matter where you are in it, you've got at least four more years of school left, so you're not really escaping into the next phase of your life. And you can't really drive, which is another big Adulthood Level Up, or legally drink or smoke, so for the weird years that constitute middle school, you're having some of the most drastic changes of your life as a child.
This momentary swamp of existence is hard to convey because so much of it is just the internal scream of "WHY AM I LIKE THIS?" And this is where Sarazanmai excels. Kazuki dresses up as the idol Sara Azuma, something that he hides from even the closest member of his family, his wheelchair-bound brother Haruka. Enta has a massive crush on Kazuki but can't muster up the nerve to tell him, so he lashes out often in weird emotional displays. And Toi is a criminal along with his older brother who (SPOILERS OH GOD SPOILERS) also once killed a man that threatened his big bro. And while this is definitely a little more dramatic than my middle school experience which mostly consisted of eating hambugers, playing Magic the Gathering and passing "Will you go out with me? Check yes or no" notes in class, I get it.
There's a grappling with your own personality that goes on during this time, and Sarazanmai excels at treating it with empathy. People have the tendency to tell you that the phases that you go through in your life before you reach true Gotta-worry-about-taxes adulthood are unimportant, and that you'll inevitably look back on your teenage and young adult choices as silly. But this outlook is so jaded and dull, because you forget just how honestly you feel everything in middle school. Sarazanmai is a show that deals heavily in that, especially when it comes to discovering your own sexuality. At no point does Sarazanmai dismiss this as "just a phase" or "just figuring stuff out." Instead, it's given weight. It's treated as truth, rather than something that Enta or Kazuki will look back on in shame.
And remember the butt stuff that I talked about earlier? That isn't just Kunihiko Ikuhara deciding that it would be funny if these Mighty Morphin' Kappa Rangers pulled orbs out of monster ass. In folklore, Kappas acquire power by pulling the shirikodama, an orb that contains the soul, out of their victims' anus'. This seemingly goofy stuff has mythological precendence, bro. And the catchphrase "Dish"? If it's not obvious already, that's a reference to the dish of water that Kappas have on their heads. Oh, and all of those cucumbers? That's traditionally the kappa's preferred meal. And the dirty cops? That's a reference to, ummm, well, we'll probably have to keep watching to figure that one out.
youtube
Lastly, Sarazanmai explores the bonds between people and what they mean and, because the main characters are in middle school, how we figure out what they mean. Every episode title starts with "I Want To Connect, but..." for a reason. As a little kid, your purpose is mostly found through your burgeoning interests. For example, my ten-year-old personality could simply be described with "Prefers Pokemon Red over Pokemon Blue" and you would've had me solved. But when you hit middle school age, suddenly you begin to find purpose through others. Friendships become more layered, reltionships become more complicated, and you have to deal with all of it while you're still trying to deal with, well, you.
Overall, Sarazanmai is my favorite show of this season because along with its great sense of humor, its wonderful visuals, and its absolute banger of an ending song that sounds like it should go on the Spider-Man 2 soundtrack, it's got deep themes about self discovery and connection. It's a show about growing up when you're not quite sure what that means, and about reaching out to others when you can barely reach inward. It's great and it's on Crunchyroll, so go watch it.
Do you like Sarazanmai? Who is your favorite character? Do you enjoy a nice cucumber snack? Let us know in the comments!

There are several main AUs I do on this blog, and they are very broad in scope, encompassing a wide variety of potential settings and scenario set ups. They can encompass my OCs, redesigns, fandom stuff, and all that in a single package, and that includes ‘non-canon’ one shots that have no connection to the AU besides setting.
While it’s incredibly unlikely that, at this point, any of my followers didn’t already follow me on my previous writing blog, there is nonetheless a possibility that I might get some new people here eventually. And then, they’re likely gonna be real confused when  I start talking about my AUs without context. And even if you do know all my ramblings about my AUs pretty well, it’s useful to have refreshers in case you forget stuff or want some info now and then. So real quick, I’m writing up some refreshers on my main AUs.
Firstly, Crossthicc AU. It is a massive crossover in the vein on Kingdom Hearts, or to be more specific, it is a kink-centric reworking of a more SFW fanfic I’m planning on doing eventually, with elements of this being reused in that. It takes place in a sprawling space opera type of sci fi with fantasy elements, and an epic adventure tone; mighty wars are decided by duels between champions, cities construct massive structures to harness the forces of magic or the psychic energy of living beings as a power source, giant mech suits and power armor exoskeletons are ubiquitous, and so forth.
BAsically, imagine a combination of Warhammer 40k, Eclipse Phase and a sci fi-themed version of Exalted, set against a multiverse cosmology based on Dungeons and Dragon’s Planescape. The technology levels, the general aesthetics and the overall feel flow from that, and then you Paragon the SHIT OUT OF IT. And that’s before the thicc-ness stuff comes in!
Taking place a great deal of time after a multiversal catastrophe that nearly spelled the end of existence itself and caused smaller reflections of such disaster across all the realms of existence, the AU proper focuses on a fleet of characters drawn from all across the fandoms I am personally familiar with or at least find interesting. This is an extremely small fleet, numbering from several hundred to a little under a thousand people depending on where in the timeline it takes place; their number of ships are undefined, but probably not very many, and are a mixture of the Quarian Migrant Fleet from Mass Effect and the Scum sub-culture of Eclipse Phase - which is likely also a thing in-universe. Their ships are mainly refurbished cargo barges, space buses and the occasional colony ship, mostly automated and run by summoned spirit friends to make up for their lack of numbers. This ships are all living machine-beings, vast AIs or networks of thinking machines, and can choose to transform into gigantic hyper curvy robot ladies in times of great need, but rarely do so.
The fleet came together from the survivors of many broken or damaged worlds, banding together for survival and growing closer, eventually stabilizing into a sort of weird family. Fiercely loyal to one another, coming to appreciate adventure and enjoying the relative stability, they have been journeying as cosmic nomads for several years now, having had many children together and growing in power, and over time they have noticed some things… off about the cosmos. There have been hints, in ruins and half-destroyed records dating back thousands of years, and they have come to the conclusion that the cataclysms that wrecked the multiverse was not random events but an active scheme.
And they are coming to the attention of whatever caused that disaster in the first place; they refer to this mysterious force as the conspiracy, but know little of who this conspiracy, their purpose or anything beside the horrors they have committed.
Over time, the fleet has become a strongly paragon-themed organization of heroes, champions of righteousness, seeking to be perfect heroes all the time… all while being extremely eccentric and quirky weirdos, as prone to flying off on rants about peanut butter when they were supposed to give a moving speech on heroism. In any conflict they will usually side towards which resolution does the least harm, and fighting tyrants is something of a hobby of theirs. That, and collecting incredibly pissed off conspiracies presumably unrelated to the Big One they are learning about.
The fleet - or specifically, their number one champion - is in possession of a powerful relic called the Eupeptic Gestat. It’s loosely based on the Keyblade, but is essentially a vore/hyper pregnancy themed artifact with powers based on Fullmetal Alchemist’s take on alchemy, with the ability to absorb almost anything and gain new powers based on what it absorbs, and allows the fleet to craft new powers from those, distilling them mostly into adorable Pokemon-like creatures that members of the crew can fuse with to gain their powers. By mixing and matching their abilities, the members of the crew can gain an enormous number of powers, as well as gain mutations to sculpt their bodies into whatever they please, though often with some unexpected frailties.
Note that this powers always involve some variety of physical mutation; get fire powers, your arms erupt into volcanic flame and your skin is living fire, your eyes burning like stars. These mutations are not subtle, they’re not pretty, and they’re usually pretty weird. Combining powers will get some very odd results, and likely induce additional frailties or limitations in exchange for greater potential.
The crew itself is highly diverse, with humans forming a distinct minority in it. Name a species from a fandom somewhere, they are probably present. Orcs of all kinds, elves and more. Dragons shapeshifting into more mundane forms, robots of every single conceivable function and form happy to be part of a group that welcomes them as family. Transformers - mostly Autobots - are giant guardians to their smaller kin. Gems of many castes, and plenty of them permanent fusions with one another. Asari, krogan and Geth from Mass Effect form a major contingent, as do a wide variety of monster girls and boys.
Whatever they are, though, the women of this crew - and the men, to a lesser degree - will get bigger.
As they grow more powerful and benefit from the powers granted to them, the women of the crew invariably grow more hyper curvaceous. Their breasts swell to enormous sizes and absurd milkiness (and this milk often has its own properties, based on the heroine’s other abilities or personality traits), they tend to become rather more fit, their hips expand to couch-destroying sizes with butts to match. This curve growth never really stops, though the precise extremes are an entirely personal decision; the biggest girls are generally the most powerful as well. They tend to grow much, much larger over time, inevitably becoming giantesses dozens of feet tall when they power up, and this too has no real limit.
Additionally, they gain a number of abilities related to pregnancy and other traits should they allow the Gestat to imbue them with its powers. It’s devouring-based abilities grant almost anyone the ability to consume other things, metaphorically or otherwise. THis can be absorbing energy or specific forms of matter and empowering yourself with them, or very literal; the power to swallow things whole and digest virtually anything. This is universal among most of the crew. But it expands their fertility, allowing them to do things such as give birth by materializing them in a spirit bubble, summoning powerful entities by gestating them within their bodies, absorbing allies and healing those allies within their own fertile wombs and possibly imbuing them with their own powers.
Additionally, they have no limitations on how many children they can have at once, gestating dozens at once without issue, and eventually even spontaneously generating them by just being around other people; no sex required or needed. They also act as living crucibles or cauldrons, distilling powers imbued into them within their bodies and refining them into a more complete form that can be used for other purposes, with the mother’s own quirks in it. And with every child they give birth to or other application of their powers, they become more powerful, so that the crew is largely dominated by absolutely massive, impossibly curvaceous, motherly heroines.
Becoming a MILFy, ravenous giantess is thus part of the package. Men can and do benefit from these abilities as well, often as support to their much more powerful counterparts; dad bods and buff bara types, as well as extreme femboys, are VERY common.
Finally, the crew constantly experiments with self-modification, using blends of magical ability, scientific procedures, cybernetic augmentation and biological trickery to create a variety of what they call ‘mods’, which can alter their bodies in specific ways. Using traits harnessed from the many species of the galaxy, along with specific aspects of the powers they have built, members of the crew can have almost any appearance or alteration that pleases them; exoskeletons, enhanced muscle fibers, horns, claws, gills, fangs, completely new morphologies and robot-ization are all examples of this.
Monster girl/boy/non-binary transformations are included in this, of any sort. By combining traits from many different species, you can get all kinds of monstrous forms even without using additional powers. Usually this is done for an edge in combat, but some just like being monstery.
They can also do mods that give other people hyper fertility, all manner of biological transformations or otherwise enable kink transformations of any kind, often tied to a power of some sort. One way they fund themselves is by selling these mods at worlds they visit.
(This means, yup, there are dispensing machines that sell mega-buff energy drinks, chocolate milk that makes you a curvaceous MILF who LITERALLY lactates liquid chocolate, and sodas that turn you into a liquid monster person.)
It should be noted these mods are permanent, and there is no resetting to a default state; in order to change back, you have to undertake procedures to transform you into something like your original state.
Now that the fun transformation stuff is clarified, what does the fleet actually do? Mostly they bounce around from world to world, racing through the tides of the spirit world and relying on their magically powerful navigators to guide them to new galaxies in this faster than light travel, searching for a new world to call home or a means to create their own homeworld. They get involved in archaeological mysteries, wind up in the middle of fight with warlords and empires, and if they don’t have at least one epic space battle a week, it's been a really slow week.
Among other things, they have a rival in a crew of space pirates, and it's a mostly friendly rivalry, a blackrom on an organizational scale, and they compete for resources, treasure, ancient lore and the secrets to great wealth or fame. This pirate crew likely outnumbers them, though the crew’s abilities are a potent force multiplier.
Less friendly is a resurgent military from the distant past, led by a fearsome general of a long-defunct empire, who has reclaimed a powerful gauntlet and seen the situation the universe is in, and intends to bring it to endless war and conflict to force it to become stronger and break the cycles of stagnancy. To this end, he has gathered together a vast legion of like-minded warriors, bloodthirsty warmongers, soldiers enamored with war as a solution, and others of that nature. The fleet and this legion constantly but heads, and while they do sometimes work together, their goals are completely opposite. Eventually, tensions will come to a head.
The conspiracy, as stated above, is likely their biggest threat but none of them know much about this force besides that it does exist and is responsible, directly or otherwise, for the cataclysms that nearly ended reality as they know it. They have some apparent connection to the fiends of the realms of pure evil, a wide variety of strange and loathsome entities, and appear to be bankrolling a vast majority of destructive agencies across the multiverse. Why they are doing this is unknown, but they are a persistent thorn in the fleet’s side, presently too large to even notice the fleet as yet.
There are also a very wide variety of monsters and beasts the crew faces on an almost daily level. They range from kaiju-sized monsters that savagely attack everything in sight and seem to warp reality as a matter of just being there, to ethereal horrors that devour everything and constantly grow bigger until they can eat stars and swell up into spaceship-sized monsters that sail across space and devour planets, to destructive fiends that colease out of hatred and negative emotion to just make things worse on everyone. Most of these are the ‘take them out, guilt free’ kind of brutes just there for good action scenes, or acting as the minions of some other greater force.

@catsnuggler tagged me to do this so here we go. 10 (or more????) random facts about this blogger, and anything that is a consequence of this is partially his fault. hehe.
1. Because I got to go to college, I finally had the chance to be the RPG game nerd I knew I could be. Like, I’ve always wanted to play D&D and stuff but I didn’t know anyone nearby who played. Now I’m regularly involved in an RPG called Mistborn (yes it’s based on the books) and I LARP too! LARPing is a great experience, do it if you ever get the chance! :)
2. I’m a supertaster, so I don’t like certain vegetables or fruits. Really, I don’t. Sorry.
3. New Years is something we do at home and my family and I just have snacks together and wait for the Earth to spin completely around the Sun.
4. I have too many story ideas so I write them down for later.
4.5. Speaking of writing: journals and notebooks. I had a lot of journals and diaries from an early age. The entries always had a heading, at least “Dear Diary” or something like that. These days, I have an all-purpose notebook where you’ll see planners, checklists, playlist drafts and even stream-of-consciousness attempts among others.
5. Growing up, my parents exposed me to a lot of music from past decades, so I have knowledge of artists people my age don’t really know about, including Sting, Paul Simon, Sam Cooke, Smokey Robinson, The Kinks, Etta James, and Darlene Love.
6. Because of this, I had a Beatles phase when I was 10. I’d listen to my massive playlist of their discography, watch the movies, and soak up every last story and fact about them.
7. I could run a studyblr because the notes I’ve taken are right there, but I just don’t have the time! :(
8. In November, I went to my first hackathon with two other Smithies and we ended up winning Most Innovative.
9. I’m really good friends with my little sister!
10. Here are some fictional characters I relate a lot to: Roxy Lalonde, Dido of Carthage, Pearl, Gul’dan, Carlos the Scientist.
11. I’ll end this with a time-travel one bc Nate tagged me and he did that: If I could time travel back in history, I’d bring a doctor and the stuff Elagabalus needs to transition because dang it the only empress of Rome needs some hope!
Tagging anyone who wants to do this, but if you are part of this list, you have to answer my special question for you as well!
- @a--useless-lesbian | Why is Terezi your fave?
- @historymememachine | What is your favorite Pokemon you’ve caught in GO?
- @notsoheadless | Who is the most huggable Overwatch character?
- @lunethwrites | If Eridan showed up at your house for tea, what would you do?
- @windcalling | What is the best time of day to look at the sky?

Cities Skylines - Review?
For the longest time, this game was just a Youtube series that looked far too complicated to jump in halfway through. Episode 19 would begin with ‘I’ve got a traffic blockage on my highway because there are too many bin lorries on my arterial roads’ and I’d switch off entirely. If you expected anything else from this city builder, you’ll be very disappointed. Cities Skylines is neverendingly complicated and always ready to kick you while you’re down. when you first start up you have to consider the road’s infrastructure, how you’re going to design your first dwellings and how they will spread out into a full city, how you’re going to manage your water, electricity, traffic, pollution, crime, health, fire safety, public transport, culture and, most importantly, money. And, if I’m honest, it’s not a game as much as it is a job. You open up the city to find out your citizens aren’t educated enough to do the jobs that you’ve given them, so you have to build a new school. But once that’s done, the roads are too clogged up so your fire engines can’t get to the burning police station. Every action you take in this simulator has a potent consequence that you must keep on top of. And, there’s always a chance that after you hit your next population milestone, your city will crash and you’ll be bankrupt within a week.
You begin the game with enough money to build your basic power, water and road networks and then you must build up your Residential, Commercial and Industrial districts to increase your population. Once you hit certain milestones, you discover that crime, fire and health become an issue, so you must incorporate these facilities into your districts. Then you need to add some more houses to grow your population more and you can start to educate them and deal with their bins. It’s about this point where you start to notice your roads are getting busy so you should add busses and an underground network. This whole gradual development helps to ease you into the very basic aspects of the game without giving you too much to think about at once.
The biggest oversight the game seems to have is… Well… Oversight. Because if you don’t construct the early game aspects efficiently, it causes major problems in the mid-game. But, with the budget they give you at the start, it’s incredibly difficult to build an efficient system and, more often than not, I find myself overextending in the initial building phase. I forget to connect up my power and end up having to start again because I’m out of money. But when I stick strictly to the bare minimum, I end up forced into the tricky choice of a failing estate or dismantling everything and taking a massive hit to my population and therefore money. While this delicate balance exists in the entire game, it’s in the opening sequence where I feel there isn’t enough margin for error which has forced me to start each map 3-4 times before I’m settled. A planning overlay would make this game infinitely easier for a newcomer.
Another aspect of the game which I feel is a barrier to the new player (and after an apparent 35 hours I still consider myself to be well within this category) is that the game does very little to persuade you to play it. There isn’t a goal. Unlike other simulator games like Two Point Hospital, it’s not going to give you the task of ‘curing 10 patients with Denim Genes’. Instead, you get a brief tutorial followed by ‘your next goal is 340 residents’, and the only objective in the game is to grow your population. After 13 000, I stopped unlocking anything that I cared even remotely about. Once I hit the title of ‘Megalopolis’ at 65 000 people, there’s realistically nothing else to do. There’s zero incentive to explore the railway networks, to build an international airport or to develop your city at all.
It might surprise you to learn that despite all these flaws, I love this game. And if I’m honest, I’m just as surprised as you are. At no point during my 35 hours did I really consider why I was playing or what the point in making my city bigger actually was. Who cares that Linda from Hickory Square needs a bicycle path built to get to work because the bus is too expensive? But despite this, I’ve built three incredibly expansive cities with 100 000 people in each. And every time, I managed to make it slightly more efficient (Except that one damn highway intersection that I can never get right…) with fewer life-or-death crises along the way. This, I feel, is the main draw of Cities Skylines. Much like Mario Odyssey or Pokemon or Breath of the Wild, you don’t really need a reason to play Cities Skylines. The gameplay is a good enough reason to hop on and spend hours watching all the tiny people go about their lives. This isn’t to say that it’s a perfect game, you need to be very self-driven to want to improve your cities and it will take a long time to learn the ins and outs, the early game is endlessly frustrating and there’s an overall lack of ‘wow’ moments that stand out above the rest of the gameplay. But if you’re looking for a game to learn that will always throw you a puzzle to overcome, Cities Skylines is perhaps the strongest candidate on the market. I know that the PC edition, as always, is likely far more expansive, complicated and offers much more in the way of content. But the Switch edition has more than enough as it is and doesn’t flood you with all the options that the PC edition can. It contains regular maps, warm maps and cold maps and seems to only have the more basic aspects of the PC version. I am certainly grateful to have bought this on my Switch (as every game is best played on this system these days), and hope they continue to support it with updates or, dare I say, DLC packs.
Cities Skylines can quite comfortably shine amongst the flood of Switch Ports that are out there now and will be a timeless edition to my collection.

My daughters both equally know how to observe World wide web Television reveals and movies on their computer systems. Pokemon is quickly one of the most preferred video game sequence in the world. Courting back again to 1995, it has given that grow to be a cultural phenomenon, with a number of game titles getting unveiled throughout several devices. It appears to be like the cell sector will be hit with a further title in 2016: Pokemon GO. For those people who are curious to know what this approaching application will be all about, below are some of the most essential specifics a Extensive Island advertising and marketing agency can draw your focus to. Pokemon GO is an approaching mobile game that will be coming to equally Apple and Android units. The aim of the activity is to discover Pokemon in true-daily life eventualities, employing your phone’s camera and augmented truth engineering alike in buy to generate struggle-like scenarios. Fundamentally, the battles players have knowledgeable in previous game titles will now have a far more realistic flare to them. Simply just put, this app attained huge consideration and it is straightforward to see why. Was 1 of the to start with Shall we day? I performed. I definitely enjoyed it for what it was again then. I still perform it and I have savored most of the substories they included. Especially these with CG, they nevertheless have a few substories only for folks who are eager to pay out which is a little bit unfortunate but easy to understand. A further just one of their previously online games, I played this when it was with Gree. I have relished it much far more. For the Gree model I was following Sasuke and in the present 1 I am Hanzo's route. It is really been pleasing so much, hopefully I will finish his route quickly to do a suitable review. I try to remember viewing this close to back then but only playing as a result of it now. I am just about close to the ending and I decide on Alvah as the major route. He is fairly sweet total but far more will appear when I in fact end his route. A own favourite of mines from their video games.
It probably “warrior”, “leader”, “best self” or some thing else that resonates for you. It truly doesnt make any difference what phrase will work for you, what issues is the essence and what that term indicates.
