Man, I got so pumped today. I saved this ground wasp queen from getting squashed, and I get super excited when I find bugs, but when I told my friends about it they just said I should have killed it.
I just wanna be pumped about bugs.

Most bees, approximately 75%, are solitary, like beneficial pollinators Mason and Leaf Cutter bees. 🐝 They are vital pollinators and require individual holes either dug in soil or found in wood and abandoned beetle holes, even opting for packing woodpecker holes with clay, eggs, paralyzed caterpillars, spders, and other things. They toil all summer, and as long into fall as their species persists, looking for places to pack with tiny springbabies! Worldwide, there are about 20,000 species of solitary bees. (I think that I once read there are 35000 in the US and over 400 in my state (SC) alone!) They are not aggressive, they are actually pretty sweet, especially if you plant bee balm! It's like having a tiny, fragrant, flowering bee bar. 🍺🐝🍻 They get drunk on it and will be very friendly while tipsy 😁😆 Every year I plan to make my own little bee houses 🐝 🏘️ but then I just but replacements. I put the smaller one near my raised beds, and the larger one behind the garden plots, that way pollinators are already near my flowering plants! It's never too late in the spring or summer to hang one, please consider hanging one to help the solitary bees where you live! 🙏🏼 #savethebees #bees #solitarybees #solitarybee #masonbees #beefarm #beehives #beehome #beehouse #🐝 #conservation #workwithnature #sustainable #sustainability #doallyoucan #leafcutterbee #leafcutterbees #apidae #apoidae #hymenoptera #groundbees #groundwasps #PixielandFarm #giveback #becreative #entomology #ecology #garden #flowerbed #vegetablegarden (at Pixieland Farm) https://www.instagram.com/p/CNVoJ1qnef_/?igshid=btrfuazpzm4f
