Don't let anyone disturb your lazy Sunday. Do whatever you want, and if that's doing nothing, do nothing.

This disabled goose in the park near my partner's house has been going strong for years, and she's so gentle and patient, I think she knows that humans are kind enough to give her food and that's why she's survived this long. All the other geese were biting my fingers (and my trousers at one point) but she's so lovely and I want to take her home

350000 years ago, just beyond the western edge of the icy Schwarzwald, spring has come to the mammoth steppe. A raven flies over a group of steppe mammoths enjoying a cold bath in the Oos river, while a Megaloceros grazes on some choice plants growing on the riverbanks. With the harsh ice age winter in retreat for a few months, a flock of greylag geese migrates north, a buzzard hunts, and a small pack of wolves observe a herd of steppe bison and some roe deer.

Some sketches I did for school. The left one is a domestic goose + Eoraptor and the left one is an Unenlagia, the ribcage is supposed to be Futalonkosaurus but I might've messed things up a little.

12th February 2024: Early spring day at Lakeside and home
Pictures I took today in this set are of; beautiful blossom at Lakeside it is really blooming now, another gorgeous Red Admiral which I was thrilled to see at Lakeside my first patch butterfly of the year, beautiful views at Lakeside on a smashing day, Collared Dove at Lakeside, the Black Redstart out the back it was thrilling to see it come back into the garden again today, alder catkins, one of a few gorgeous crocuses seen at Lakeside I had a feeling they'd be out today and Greylag Geese. Snowdrops, violet and loads of lesser celandine in a fancy foray into varied spring flowers on my lunch time walk, Jay, Moorhen, lively Blue and Great Tit at Lakeside, Goldfinch at home with Chaffinch, Ring-necked Parakeet and Wren heard well at Lakeside were other highlights today.

Greylag Goose (anser anser)
Homosexual pairs are common in Greylag Geese, and and share the characteristics of heterosexual pairs except for the fact that their bond appears to be closer, based on the intensity of their displays. These pairs often assume high-ranking positions in the flock for their superior strength and courage, causing speculation that they may serve as guardians of the flock.
