HEALTHY ADVICE :
Eating Healthy: The Key to a Healthy Lifestyle
Leading a healthy lifestyle is important for our overall well-being, and what we eat plays a crucial role in it. A balanced diet that includes a variety of nutrient-dense foods can help us maintain our physical and mental health. In this blog, we’ll explore the importance of eating healthy and provide tips on how to make healthy eating a part of your daily routine.
Why is Eating Healthy Important?
Eating healthy foods is essential for our physical health as they provide our bodies with the essential vitamins, minerals, and nutrients it needs to function properly. A diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins can help reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and some forms of cancer. Eating a balanced diet also helps maintain a healthy weight, improves energy levels, and strengthens the immune system.
Mental health is equally important, and the food we eat can also have a significant impact on our mental well-being. Eating a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains can help reduce the risk of depression and improve mood and cognitive function.
How to Make Healthy Eating a Habit
Making healthy eating a part of your daily routine can be challenging, but with a little effort and planning, it can become a habit. Here are some tips to help you get started:
Plan your meals: Planning your meals in advance can help ensure you have a balanced diet and make healthy eating a habit. Start by making a grocery list of healthy foods and prepare meals at home to have more control over the ingredients and portions.
Focus on nutrient-dense foods: Fill your plate with nutrient-dense foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. These foods are packed with vitamins, minerals, and nutrients that are essential for good health.
Avoid processed foods: Processed foods are high in calories, unhealthy fats, and added sugars and are often low in essential nutrients. Instead, choose whole foods such as fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.
Drink plenty of water: Staying hydrated is important for our health, and drinking water can help keep us full and reduce the temptation to snack on unhealthy foods.
Practice portion control: Eating smaller portions can help control calorie intake and prevent overeating. Using smaller plates and bowls can also help with portion control.
Conclusion
Eating healthy is an important part of leading a healthy lifestyle. Focusing on nutrient-dense foods, avoiding processed foods, and practicing portion control can help make healthy eating a habit. By making healthy eating a priority, we can improve our physical and mental health and reduce the risk of chronic diseases.

Want Your Toddlers to Eat Green Vegetables
Tumblr media
Turning Green into a Toddler’s Delight: Tips for Vegetable Victory!
Parents, we understand the daily struggle of getting your toddlers to embrace the world of green vegetables. But fear not! With a bit of creativity and patience, you can transform the dinner table into a colorful and nutritious playground. Here’s how:
1.Make it Fun and Colorful:-
Create a vibrant plate by combining different colored vegetables. Arrange them into fun shapes or create a colorful veggie rainbow. The more visually appealing, the more likely your toddler will be intrigued to try them.
2. Get Them Involved in Cooking:-
Let your little ones be your kitchen helpers. When they participate in preparing a meal, they are more likely to feel a sense of ownership and curiosity about the ingredients. Give them simple tasks like washing vegetables or tearing lettuce leaves.
3. Dip it! Dip it Good:-
Kids love to dip! Serve green vegetables with a side of tasty dip — whether it’s hummus, yogurt-based dressing, or guacamole. The dipping process can make eating veggies a playful and enjoyable experience.
4. Turn Veggies into Shapes:-
Use cookie cutters to transform vegetables into fun shapes. Broccoli trees, carrot stars, and cucumber circles can turn a regular salad into an exciting and visually appealing adventure.
5. Blend Them into Smoothies:-
Sneak in those greens by blending them into delicious smoothies. Combine spinach or kale with fruits like bananas, berries, and a splash of yogurt. The natural sweetness of the fruits can mask the taste of the veggies.
6. Create Food Adventures:-
Turn mealtime into a culinary adventure. Pretend the veggies are magical trees or superhero fuel. Narrate stories about the exciting journey the veggies have taken to land on their plates.
7. Incorporate Veggies into Familiar Dishes:-
Sneak veggies into their favorite dishes. Add finely chopped spinach to spaghetti sauce or mix grated zucchini into muffin batter. Slowly integrating veggies into familiar foods can make the transition smoother.
8. Be a Veggie Role Model:-
Kids are more likely to try new foods if they see their parents enjoying them. Show your enthusiasm for green vegetables, and they may be inspired to follow suit. Lead by example!
Remember, it’s all about creating positive associations with veggies. Be patient, stay creative, and watch your toddlers embrace the goodness of green with excitement!

All the nutrients we require each day are present in nutrient-dense food, but not in excess. If such a food existed, our bodies would have the best nutritional balance if we consumed it alone without any other food.

96/100 continued.
Ok, next up: fridge inventory. What have we got to either finish off or toss out?
I've got:
Leftover cooked brown rice
Leftover cooked beef strips (kinda chewy, my kid didn't like it so I guess I have to finish it off)
Mixed greens (kale, brussel sprouts, snap peas)
Arugula
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think I'll do a stir-fry.
First, fry up the rice.
Tumblr media
I think I'll make teriyaki sauce. I'm using this recipe from Just One Cookbook.
1/2 cup mirin
1/2 cup sake
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup sugar
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While I wait for that to simmer I'll fry up the greens. I've returned the rice to the pot for now.
Steam-fry up the greens with a bit of oil and water. Just until they turn bright green, don't overdo it. Added them to the pot with the rice.

Next, the meat. I didn't need to add any more oil to the pan.

To be continued!

バケーション最終日のニューヨークに帰る途中によったキングストンという街にある可愛いカフェにてランチ。
陶器や食料品もおいてあって、メニューも新鮮な地元野菜などを使ったものでとっても美味しかったー。
Stopped at this super cute coffee shop in Kingston on the way back to NYC on the last day of my vacation in the Catskills!
Lots of interesting sound menus and they also sell ceramics and grocery stuff. The food was very flavorful and tasty with fresh ingredients!!
