Grace and Simon

Kim and Jimmy
"-basically what happens is theyre lawyers who work together and also pull lots of awful pranks and schemes on their enemies and gradually make each other worse. they get married so they wont have to testify against each other (but they do actually love each other its just not a conventional proposal). however kim realizes how awful shes become AND how awful jimmy has become (and how jimmy has become Saul Goodman, his criminal lawyer persona). they divorce and kim never appears in the breaking bad show. then after the events of breaking bad, once walter white is dead, saul is in hiding but hes caught. kim hears news of this and decides to come forward about the schemes they pulled that got someone killed. they reunite at jimmy's hearing and she visits him in jail."

i just realized how similar Simon from Infinity Train and Catra from SPOP is.
both of them start at a pretty bad place but only gets worse from there. they have anger issues. they support a cult-like environment that fosters animosity and cruelty towards innocent people. they kill people, they are controlling and possessive of their best friend/love interest, and they refuse to take responsibility for their actions.
both of them have gone through some kind of trauma that left them with abandonment and trust issues. both are powerful villains but horrible people. they violate their best friend/love interest's boundaries. their best friend/love interest tries to get them to snap out of it and stop all their evil bs, but they respond to that with bitterness and toxicity. both of them have a mental breakdown at some point. their best friend/love interest would save them in a heartbeat, and they would kill that person in a heartbeat.
the only difference is that:
1. Simon was at least a better friend to Grace before she started to deflect. he seemed to actually care about her. he also had the potential to be redeemed. I would even argue that he starts out slightly better than Grace, because he wasn't as manipulative as she was in the beginning.
2. Simon doesn't get a lazy and rushed redemption arc. he doesn't get his happy ending with Grace. instead, he gets the ending he deserves, even if it was a little brutal. Simon was a sympathetic and insanely complex character, and that is why the creators chose not to redeem him, because it would have ruined his character.
(also the reason why i love Simon and hate Catra)

Do the people want a Nerdy Prudes: Spiderverse AU?
I feel like the thing pretty much writes itself, but I cannot get this idea out of my head. I'll post what I have here and if even one person wants more I'll expand on it. (I'll probably do so anyways tbh)
So while it might feel obvious to make Peter Spiderman, I've decided to go in a different direction...kind of
Stephanie is pretty much Gwen Stacy. Her crush was supposed to be the one to get bit by the spider, but through a series of coincidences she is the one to get powers.
Peter is MJ. Obviously.
So there were a lot of options for Grace, but I decided to stay simple and go with Venom. Venom is Pokey here because I think that there's a lot of potential there. (Though Nibbly could also work.)
The LiB are still very much a thing. I feel like I don't have to reach that far to incorporate the web.
Max is still alive. While somewhat representing Flash, he's Grace's boyfriend in this! He carries her books and follows her like a little puppy.
Solomon would be the main antagonist for the first one. The Green Goblin parallels aren't hard to make, but I'd want to add my own twist on it.
Whatever universe this is happening in is 'wrong'. None of the canon events are going as expected.
Peter was supposed to sneak off during a field trip to CCRP. He'd forget his bag in one of the conference rooms, and then when he went back to get it the spider would bite him.
Stephanie notices that he forgot his bag, and wanting an excuse to keep talking to him, she goes to grab it for him.
Entire timeline is fucked up from here.
Instead of Max, Grace is the one to get 'infected' and becomes Venom.
While I probably won't bring in any Spiderverse characters, there's at least one version of Peter out there looking for a Stephanie that survives. Our Stephanie is the only one.
Ruth and Richie are obsessed with finding out Spiderwoman's identity for gross reasons.
Stephanie didn't tell Grace her identity, the girl walked in on her changing out of the suit after a fight.
Polycule endgame.
The universe keeps trying to kill Peter but he will not die.
Stephanie eventually gets parental figures that aren't awful through her powers. (It's Holloway and Duke.)
When Stephanie first realizes she has powers (it takes her a few days) she doesn't know what to do. That's where Peter comes in. He's a nerd, so he'd know how to start her superhero origin story.
Grace and Stephanie also have so much tension you guys have no idea.
There's a specific scene in my mind with Stephanie falling into Grace's arms unexpectedly and it'd work so well
Kind of an homage to the lunch tray scene in the first Spiderman movie

*Simon and Grace starting to argue in front of the Apex*
Simon: Let's do this in private. I don't want to be those people who argue publicly in the Train.
Random Apex Kid, interrupting: No. Don't do that, don't gaslight her. You started this!
