Beautiful thing happened today: the guy doing headshots had these brilliant nautical tattoos and I, a known ship nerd, pointed them out and said I thought they were brilliant. And he launched into how for 12 years he worked on a tall ship at one point as the captain. He got all excited telling me about it and asked if I was working on any ships. I said no, but I’d love to, have wanted to ever since I was a kid; he asks if I know so-and-so, to call him and even just being a passenger will get you credit with skippers. And at this point I’m grinning and laughing and I really want to talk more about sailing and historical stuff with this guy. He goes “Right tilt your head this way, you wanna look warm and approachable yet tough for any skippers!” Probably the best headshots I’ll ever get, those smiles were sincere. Then he recommended me his favourite book - its 700 pages and it’s 300 years of historical fiction called “We, The Drowned” which I’m checking out asap because it sounds brilliant

i know this may have just been a matter of budget and not having all the voice actors and maybe getting overwhelmed with all the pokemon goh caught and whatnot but man. it’s sad how jn is seen as a last roundup for ash’s journey and it brought back most of his companions and all, and that’s cool, but it completely failed ash’s pokemon roster back at oak’s lab and kukui’s house by going out of its way to justify using only pikachu and mr mime i guess over them in these earlier episodes and refusing to touch on them throughout the series until near the end

@jericholeader sent: “Do you need me to come home?”
Yes.
Immediately, the answer was yes, because it would mean Connor could take a shower and crawl into him and they could sit like that until one of them felt like talking (and not until someone decided he ‘should’). It - this - was an ache he could not have known he had until this moment, but he wanted Markus.
“No,” he said. The answer was no. Objectively he could sit here and wait for Markus to be finished with work and it would be cold but that was not inherently dangerous. This was the truth: no. “Will you?” also the truth: he wanted him to.

Apparently whatever gov agency that does the uni rules and stuff decided we need to include where we did our internships in the topic of our thesis (and also technology but that was honestly predictable given this basically college started as mostly IT school and we do have random IT related classes every semester)
So either I'll have to find a translator willing to take me in (somewhat unlikely) or hope the "I used CAT tools at my internship successfully and now I'm wondering if I can use them to translate poetry/musicals and if it's even worth it" loophole would work
Cuz I won't let the fact that I did my first internship at a travel agency stop me from picking a topic I would be actually possibly able to actually write about
And honestly writing about CAT tools and CATS is just too funny of a bit to pass on it XD
