Aww no wait Shane headcanon:

Shane’s jacket is so worn and torn because he literally always wears it. He never takes the darned thing off no matter how ugly, ruined, and smelly it might be.

The thing is, things had been pretty sucky and he was depressed and he needed something, anything. So when he applied to work at joja, they handed him that jacket and said “welcome to the team” he finally has something positive going for him. Although he grew to hate the job, it felt safe, comfortable even. It was the only thing he had going for him even if it meant he was going nowhere.

So he clung onto that jacket, the only stable thing in his life, even after Joja got run out of town. It became his shell. His way to hide from the world.

But then came along the farmer! And slowly the shell became a home. What never left his body found it’s way around the farmer’s shoulders on a cold night walking home from the saloon. On another night the farmer asked to borrow it, Shane didn’t want to admit parting with the ratty thing gave him anxiety but he trusted them enough. The next day it was patched up, just a little, just enough.

Then it began to smell just like farmer, so Shane gave it willingly, sometimes suggesting they take it himself, not that the farmer minded.

Shane’s jacket was only built for one person, one single person to shield themselves from the world, but eventually he found a way to make room for two

I just love how his dark materials depicts the afterlife/ heaven and hell and is kinda similar to The Good Place

Both shows said you know what the afterlife sucksss let make a new one

In The Good Place they created a new system for the afterlife but essentially your essence will return to the universe

In His Dark Material things are easier

You live, you die ,you return to the multiverse by going through the portal in the land of the dead and basically becoming dust

The end of the afterlife is basically the same in both shows

But The Good Place took a more ethnic approach while His Dark Materials took a more religious(? approach

The gist of the new afterlife system in The Good Place is that if you can change to be better, you deserved to be in The Good Place/Heaven. Is about becoming a better person despite how hard it the circumstances are. Or at least try to

In His Dark Materials though, the show basically encourage you to be good since we have the decision to choose or as the show put it “people can’t survive without dust (consciousness)” We have the freedom to choose so why don’t we choose love and kindness(is how I view the show anyway I haven’t read the books yet so I’m just talking about the show here)

And personally I just love the HDM version of the afterlife a tad bit more just because it’s closer to what I personally think people should treat each other, with love and compassion because they can.

Plus I think it think it fits well with the source material which is the Bible/Christian ideals that people should treat each other with love because they can(? correct me if I’m wrong here

Anyway my point is

If you like female bisexual icon trying to save herself but accidentally saved the entire human race with ethnics, go watch The Good Place

And if you like adventurous chosen girl who had her soul in animal form as her companion, travels through different worlds and fullfill a prophecy while leaning about love and the meaning of existence then go watch His Dark Materials

Since you guys enjoyed our collaborative effort, SONGS TO KICK SOMEONE’S ASS TO, I thought I’d share my current playlist in progress, Female Fronted Metal. I’m going back and reliving my little tomboy goth metalhead high school days and re-listening to After Forever, Delain, Epica, Lacuna Coil, Nightwish, and Within Temptation (and in some cases, this is new listening; I lost track of Epica and WT after about 2012-ish) and adding my favorite tracks into one playlist. Check it out if you’re into any of these bands. Next on the docket is Delain’s Dark Waters (curious to see how they’re doing without Charlotte) Epica’s The Holographic Principal, Lacuna Coil’s Dark Adrenaline, Nightwish’s Dark Passion Play (which was my all time favorite album for about a decade) and Within Temptation’s Resist.

#it’s been such a Delight to revisit these #I’m not adding bands like Leaves Eyes Sirenia Tristania or the handful of other because tbh I’ve never listened to them #might consider adding some of their stuff later #forgot just how much I fucking loved The Divine Conspiracy #and you know I think I was too harsh on The Unforgiving when it first came out it’s actually pretty good #but holy fuck I forgot how terrible Invisible Cirles is #Nightwish is still my favorite out of these even if I despair of their later albums #gosh and I love Delain I think they’re so underrated #Spotify #visigoth playlist

BROO!! I’m sorry, I know I’ve never spoken to you, but I love your content and I’ve seen that you love snerah (just like me) and AGH!

I know you’ve pointed out the fact that Lightning and Serah open up their arms in the ending of LR, basically motioning for Snow and Hope to go into their arms (separately). But I also just noticed that Snow opens up his arms when he gets closer to Serah. At least, it LOOKS like it to me.

It is incredibly hard to see without seeing the video, but if you watch the ending scene, you can see his arms widening and it looks like he’s going to hold Serah😭😭.

I may be wrong since it’s hard to see, but I like to imagine that’s what he’s doing🥹

In my opinion that Garnet sparked the "dancing" as I have noticed, like with Jasper and Lapis that it was mostly twirling like with Garnet. But if you look at Jasper and the corruption fusion then it wasn't dancing neither was the Bigger Ruby before Garnet formed they didn't dance or anything. It must be something of syncing together by any means but the dancing came later as a way to do it together instead of just because. But that's entirely my own hc.

In the case of Jasper’s fusion with the other corrupted jasper, I think what happened is she saw the other trying desperately to escape the cell, and used that desire as a way in. She probably focused her own mind on wanting to ‘escape’, or even just wanting to have control over the situation — which is something both the Jaspers wanted in that moment.

With regards to Garnet’s twirling dance… I may have to rewatch The Return and Jailbreak again, but I think Jasper didn’t actually see Sapph and Ruby fuse — because she entered the room, saw Garnet, then said “Great, you’re fused again?!” (or something v. similar.)

MY headcanon?? Is that, during the time that Steven was passed out and all the gems were put in jail cells, Jasper went to Lapis (or Peridot?) and questioned one/both of them about how the different gems fused. I can’t remember whether either of them witnessed fusion dancing, though…

Or perhaps!!! Since Jasper was there on Earth during the war….

There’s a big possibility she could have witnessed fusion dancing between Crystal Gem fighters. (!!!)

(Lapis also witnessed the war. Albeit for a short time.)

You know, I was thinking (bad idea, I know) about what it would be like to live in Europe.

Here’s the thing, you have to pick the right country for you, right?

No. You’ve got to pick the right country for those poor citizens who just got a feral piece of work on their doorstep (and from the US).

I thought about this because I had an obsession with Nordic culture a while back (still very much admire it) and they’re not the extroverted, “in your face” like America. They’re actually quite the opposite but at least they’re honest!

By the way, I’m treading this on extremely shaky ground so please bear in mind that I’m not a racist. Think of this as a Hetalia joke or smth.

But my point is, if I wanted to live in a European country, I would have to find one where I fit the cultural persona. Not for them to fit with me, but for me to fit with them. So, no Nordic countries for me, sorry. Just because I look like I could walk right into Sweden and pretend to be mute, everyone would actually believe that I was Swedish (yeah, a friend actually said that, blame her); does not mean that I wouldn’t accidentally give them all heart attacks from my natural behavior (being a feral, chaotic neutral that is).

So which country would work?

Well, I can’t stand drama so no England, France, or Germany. And yeah, that was a jab.

I’m not one for the beach, so maybe kick Italy and Portugal out.

Aaaand, it can’t be Celt at all because I’m know my stubbornness would probably give them a stroke (or me one) due to those many, MANY possible disagreements.

It has to be Spain. Because I’m already there but without the S.
