akaashi in love - (WARNING ITS LONG AS FUCK BYE)

he writes you letters. he may not send them to you, not immediately at least, but there are times when he’s overwhelmed with emotion at the thought of you, and what better way is there than taking it out on paper? there are letters marked by dates, by events, and he swears one day he’ll build up the courage to show you. his favourite letter is titled ‘the day i realised I love you - [07/08],’ it holds his most precious memory of you, which was merely a simple day at the library when you‘d tripped on air, and laughed the prettiest laugh he’d ever heard, the grin on his face too obvious as one thought ran through his head. “i love you.” he used it to write his wedding vows.

he remembers your routine and the little things. akaashi keiji is a responsible man. he’s used to taking care of people, only with you he does it with love. he knows what time you like to wake up, what sort of coffee you like, what your favourite food is, and pretty much every other little detail. you miraculously find a cup of cinnamon coffee on your desk at 8 a.m every day without fail with a small note saying, “work well darling. I love you <3” it’s by far your favourite part of the day. if you’re stressed, he knows just what to do and will be right at your side, rubbing your shoulders and speaking soft words in your ear. “you’re doing good, my love,” he knows exactly what to say to assure you. you never have to worry with him around.

he helps you study. akaashi is organised, and smart. even if you don’t need much assistance, he likes to make flash cards with you for difficult topics, share notes, mark the important points, all of it. “just a minute, darling,” he says, pulling out his binder full of sticky notes, just the yellow ones, yet so neat. he has no issue staying up till 3 a.m. helping you out for the upcoming test. (let’s be honest, he wasn’t going to get much sleep anyway). “want an iced-coffee?,” he shakes your sleepy figure, already with a glass in hand, your favourite coffee all-made. if he thinks you’re too tired, he’ll slowly pull you to bed, leaving small kisses on your hands with each step. “goodnight, my sweet,” akaashi won’t fall asleep before you do, no matter how much he feels like. he wants you to do your best and is ready to facilitate that.

he reads to you. reading is something akaashi loves, so of course he wants to share it with you. it’s a daily routine of sorts now, sitting on the couch when he’s back from work, both of you so tired yet looking forward to spending time together, a destresser, if you may. the joy he gets from this activity is infinitely multiplied when he’s resting his head in your lap, your hands stroking through his messy hair and his glasses slipping as he speaks the words on the pages out loud. he pauses to flip a page, his breath hitching when he drawls out a sentence he relates to too much, “-and above all, i see you.” he keeps the book down to kiss your lips more often than he’d like, and you both don’t end up doing a lot of reading more times than naught.

THE LETTERS. first of all, i teared up while reading that one ngl the memory is so so cute and the last line actually killed me. i passed out. cried. slammed my head against a wall. slid down a wall dramatically. HE'D BE SO SHY TO READ THE LETTERS TO YOU SO HE'D JUST HAND THEM TO YOU AND WATCH YOU AS YOUR EYES GLIDE OVER THE PAGES :,)
