As for my reasons for the spaces marked:

“Nothing I like about them is technically canon”: in particular that chapter from Wayne Family Adventures which shows her motherly nature to Damian the absolute best. Since however it’s a WEBTOON technically not part of the mainstream DCU line up, it’s a darn shame because it absolutely should be. Also, I blatantly and blissfully ignore anything that says she’s involved in the Heretic Incident cause any GoodMom!Talia wouldn’t have done that to her son, supervillainess or not. And this coming from someone who usually likes Grant Morrison.

“They’re deeper then they seem”: Come on now, a conflicted heiress to a vast underground empire like the League of Shadows trying to balance her love for the man opposed to it and her son against her loyalty to her Father whom helms said empire, that’s some depth right there

“They are so cool looking”: 90% of the time, Talia has some of the most skilled artists to draw her and one the few times panels featuring her messed up, fans step in to correct it, maintaining her beauty while also pleasing to eyes. Basically, she’s drop dead gorgeous.

“Wasted Pontential”: Particularly as a potential outside ally of the Batfamily who does matters her own way but still with the best intent at heart and interesting character dynamics that come with it. A Female Ghost Maker if you will, we need that.

OKAY um. i am always down to talk about my kids hmmm

i think im gonna focus on cinder bc i love her sm and draw her all the time but i cant remember if ive actually… explained her story lmao SO. here we go

cinder is the creator of promethea (the world in which all of this takes place). ancient humans knew of her and worshipped her. for a while she was pretty chill, she mostly just wandered around freaked everyone out when they saw her

hhhhhhowever. cinder had a mother, named daksari tamman. daksari is one of two original creators, she was there before everything and she’s the god of well. everything. not much can faze her or really hold her interest. despite this, she was still known and worshipped by a sect of humans in promethea.

cinder’s pretty young (well, in god’s terms. shes really a few billion years old) and at that time, all she really cared about was getting her mother to notice her and pay attention to her. and daksari just.. didnt really care lmao. and the longer she went being ignored by daksari, the more apathetic and eventually resentful cinder grew towards promethea, until, in a moment of clarity(?), she decided that if daksari didnt care, then it must not be worth anything. so she started to destroy it

and ofc thats when daksari noticed and went WOAH HEY HOLD ON NOW

but at that point cinder didnt fucking care. and hey! mom’s paying attention to me !! and daksari isnt really the type to sit down and talk about things, so her first reaction was to stop cinder by force (which obviously just pissed her off more) until she realized that cinder wouldnt stop. as long as she was alive she’d continue to try to kill everything she’d made.

but daksari didnt really want to… KILL her. despite being kind of a shit mother that still wasnt her go to option. but she DID put her in jail lmao. #goodmom. remember that group of humans that worshipped her? she made them into jailors. she put cinder into kind of a coma and locked her up in a prison underground.

so uh. there’s cinder.

she gets out eventually, long story short. and jack’s kid kills her but despite dawn being a pretty Important and Powerful person its only temporary and she wakes back up like 20 years later.
