“Hi,” she says again, this time whispered against his lips when they break apart. He smiles, raising his hand from its place on her neck to cradle her cheek instead. “You’re being too loud, ma” beth x rio for the sentence ask
ty for sending this!
this gave me two different ideas and i couldn’t decide which one to do, so you get both! the second one’s under a cut because it’s not pg-13 (first time for everything, i know)
“You’re being too loud, ma,” Beth parrots back at Rio, forcing her voice to go as low and scratchy as it can in her best approximation of his. “That’s what you sound like,” she tells him, just in case he didn’t get it — not because her impression isn’t excellent, but because Rio just isn’t very good at picking up on that type of thing — jabbing her finger into his chest for emphasis. “Nah, mama, it really ain’t,” he replies, shaking his head, an amused smile on his face. She’s going to protest this, of course — again, her impression of Rio is great, he just can’t appreciate it — but then he moves closer, his chest brushing hers as he leans down to murmur “You know I don’t mind you being loud, Elizabeth” into her ear and she loses her train of thought, her eyes fluttering closed as she lets the closeness of him wash over her. It’s always like this with Rio — too many times, Beth gets lost in his eyes, counting his freckles, watching his hands move, appreciating the way his voice dips. “I just don’t think you’ll be happy with me tomorrow when I tell you that you woke up the entire block,” he adds as he steps away from her, toothy grin in place, spell thoroughly broken. “I am not-” Beth starts, admittedly maybe a smidge — a very small smidge; almost non-existent, really — too loud for the middle of the night in the suburbs, when Rio interrupts her with a shushing motion. Still grinning, he places his hands on her waist and spins her in the direction of her door. “C’mon, drunky, let’s get you into bed before you wake up the neighbours.”
[break between drabbles]
“You’re being too loud, ma,” Rio tuts, his lips just barely brushing the shell of her ear as he speaks, his fingers never losing their rhythm as they pump in and out of her. Beth can hear him speaking, but she’s too far lost — in the citrus-y cologne she can practically taste in the back of her throat with the way the smell of it’s so overwhelming, the bruises she can feel forming as the hand holding up her thigh tightens its grip, the heat pooling low in her belly as his thumb roughly circles her clit; just… in him — to be able to really understand a word he’s saying. It only sinks in when, after a particularly high moan, he chuckles, the sound reverbing in his chest, under her hands, and adds, his voice raspy and low and so, so good, “Getting caught having sex in the middle of your first family barbecue isn’t a cute look, Elizabeth.” She can’t help it, then — the way her hips roll, seeking more friction; the whine that escapes her when he gives it to her, sending every nerve in her body into overdrive. She does manage to sink her teeth into his shoulder, though, muffling the moans she can’t keep in, and she figures that’s as good as he could expect under the circumstances, really.

my heart burns there, too by tooshyforthis
The ride home is quiet. Elizabeth spends it playing with his hand, the way she does sometimes when they do movie nights — her fingers move softly over the lines of his palm, the veins on his wrist, helping him relax even further into the seat. He returns the favour by twirling the ends of her hair on his finger and is rewarded with her melting completely into his side.

Brio - The lasagna here isn’t nearly as good as she remembered.
ty for sending this!!
here you go:
The lasagna here isn’t nearly as good as she remembered. It’s not bad, really, just disappointing when compared to Beth’s memory of it — the taste is just a little blander than she remembered and the way the pasta was laid out is sloppy, so a lot of the sauce escaped at the bottom, leaving the filling just a little dry and the bottom layer of pasta almost soggy. Irrationally, she feels almost ashamed — that this clearly sub-par lasagna used to be her favourite, once upon a time; that she brought Rio here, a tiny diner lost in the outskirts of the city that he’d never have entered on a normal day, so she could share it with him, when he’s such a food snob (god, such a snob in general, not just with food, but with music and clothes and furniture and even the kids’ god-damned school supplies — everything needs to be the most artistic, most beautiful, most expensive version available, even highlighters and pencils, as she’d found out during their first back-to-school shopping trip together just last month). As Rio swallows, Beth squares her shoulders, preparing herself for the blow of his scathing review — she decides she won’t let him know the impact he has on her, won’t let him see that she’s now acutely aware of how much this pales in comparison to the fancy French restaurant he’d wanted to take her to; she refuses to let herself be ashamed for thinking of this as the best food she’d ever had when she was sixteen and desperate, trying her best to keep her sister alive on cheeseburgers and burnt meals, a time when anything cheap and properly cooked felt like a blessing. She was wrong, though, because the biting words she’s expecting never come — instead, Rio reaches for her hand, interlocking their fingers, and when he opens his mouth, it’s to say, his tone and smile both impossibly soft, “You’re right, ma, this is delicious.” She understands what he means by it — that he knows what this means to her, that he gets it, gets her — and she feels herself relax in response, a beaming smile taking over her face.

"Around 2 years ago, my wife found out both about the cheating and the money problems. She obviously wasn’t happy, but we ended up reconciling for the kids. After we got back together, I found out that she got a part-time job working for this younger, tattooed guy (he looks like a criminal, to put it honestly) while we were separated so she could keep up with the mortgages. Things were still a little strained, so I didn’t tell B, but I thought right away that it was a bad idea and that she should just let me fix things for her, like I’ve always done." -- Dean takes his problems to Reddit, Post-Season 3.

"I told you: No dungarees!" - for Brio
ty for sending this!! here’s what i wrote:
“I told you: no dungarees!” Beth exclaims, exasperated, as she looks down at her youngest child dressed in the same pair of dungarees she’s already worn thrice this past week. Jane gives her a toothy grin, unabashed. Rio, at least, has the decency to grimace. He drops his hand from Jane’s shoulder and comes closer, until they’re chest to chest, so he can rest his hands on her hips and lean down to kiss her cheek. “Sorry, mama, there was no negotiating with the little terror; it was either dungarees or no pants.” “People are going to think she doesn’t have other clothes,” Beth says, distress clear in her tone. “With the way she goes on and on about how much she likes them, I doubt it,” Rio says with a chuckle. When Beth glares at him in reply, he moves in even closer, one of his hands moving to rub circles on her back and the other to cradle her cheek, and adds, “Don’t sweat it, Elizabeth. No one in my family even saw Jane this week, it’s not like they’ll know.” At that, Beth relaxes. She nods once, more to herself than anything else, and then gives Rio a peck on the lips before quickly disentangling from him, moving to grab her bag. “Okay, everyone to the car! We’re already late, let’s go!”

For a moment, Beth doesn’t react, still trying to process what’s happening. And then she kisses him back, just as forceful as he is, her hands twisting in the lapels of his jacket the way his have in her hair. -- This fic can best be described as "hate sex turns into lovemaking, but make it basically PG-13".

Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: Good Girls (TV) Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Beth Boland/Rio Characters: Beth Boland, Rio (Good Girls) Additional Tags: Alternate Universe, Vampires, Alternate Universe - Vampire, Angst with a Happy Ending, Emotional Hurt/Comfort Series: Part 4 of good girls ficlets Summary:
“Uhm, you taste weird, what did you eat?” Beth asks, because it’s always fun to see him grasping for an excuse and she’s not gonna let an opportunity like this just pass her by. He comes up with the most ridiculous shit - insomnia for the lack of sleep, sentimentality for the reason why he never takes off his daylight ring, allergies for the distaste for her famous garlic bread and daily morning vervain tea. She can’t wait to see what excuse he comes up with to explain the taste of blood lingering in his mouth now — she thinks she’ll actually laugh out loud if he says the reason for that is something like sensitive gums that bleed when he brushes his teeth. -- AU where Rio is a vampire, but very bad at hiding it, while Beth is bad at hiding that she knows he's a vampire.
