21. Drink of choice (not just alcoholic)

i think he's actually not big on teas and imported coffee and stuff, despite how well those apparently go with baked goods. he's okay with most things, but he prefers juice and water and anything fresh. just give the guy a glass of apple juice and he's content. does not need anything fancy tbqh

22. Best physical feature

to me? his stupid hair curl because i love drawing that thang. to him? i think he privately takes some pride in being able to lift flour sacks so easily so probably his arms/back. hard worker type answer. he doesn't really care about aesthetics beyond their practical uses (convincing everyone he is boring and unassuming)

30. Sleeping habits

he's an early riser! which to corvidan means a sensible bedtime. dude likes getting up at the crack of dawn and going for a jog or a walk or generally moving his body around and exercising, but he hates people watching him do it (holdover from tahra considering this Suspicious Behaviour. why are you getting fit are you planning on going on adventures like your brother I Just Don't Understand etc etc) so early morning when no one is around is a good time

What the heck is Dragonsbayne anyway?

Dragonsbayne started as a original story by myself about a half-dragon gal who was on a journey to find out who she was and find out who the heck this big bad was who had already taken away so much from her. However the story was REALLY flawed and extremely problematic and cringe considering I had been writing this story since I was maybe 17/18ish? (Whenever I had started college anyhow.) ANYWAY I eventually became friends with @goodmode online and we started RPing with our OC's together over on livejournal and somehow lost touch with each other. Some years later we found each other again and started talking about our OC's again because "hurr hurr what if they got together." and well it kind of blew up into the much larger more fleshed out story we have now. I was more open about telling my story with people again and eventually I was introduced to @goodbyenorthernlights who had some AMAZING insight to what was going on and guessed plotpoints we hadn't even discussed yet and it was wild so me and Goodmode decided between us that Ro should have a part in all of this too! Especially since I didn't want Saft to just find the big bad and that be it. We now have more characters, more plot points because of said characters and it feels like it's not just one character's story anymore - EVERYONE in Dragonsbayne has their own important story to tell. We have a Discord sever and a majority of stuff is on twitter regarding artwork and random discussions. I id start working on a webcomic too but ahaha unfortunately I don't have the time nor the energy to update it (Not to mention try and work out the HTML stuff which I'm not very confident with at all.) and I think I only got 3 pages in before my brain did a big fat "NOPE. THIS ISN'T WORKING." Even though we have TONNES of story to write/rewrite for it. anyway this tumblr blog will hopefully serve as a continuation of shared artworks and discussions and just random things we find that might remind us of things that happen in the story. I'll drop the Discord server if anyone wants to join and doesn't mind spoilers etc But uh yeah anyway, welcome to the world of Dragonsbayne y'all.

Five of those egg HCs.

as the White Lady's offspring, they were developed in something more like a seed pod than an egg. buncha siblings all packed together in a circle around the middle.

thanks to having the Radiance in their head, who was technically a sort of mother-nurture god, alongside just having their mind linked to tons of Infected, including, y'know, parents, they have absurd brooding instincts. they would've protected innocent eggs anyway as a Knight, sure, but where the Pure Vessel would've stood guard at most, the surviving Hollow Knight would probably hunch over a clutch with their own body.

they feared the Temple of the Black Egg before they were sealed, not for what it entailed for them or the dreamers, but because the Pale King Himself feared it. it was obvious. as the king proudly spoke of the Egg and his Pure Vessel similarly, it was the former that made him show signs of stress.

despite having a dulled sense of smell, they do not care for Rancid Eggs. they do smell enough, and are colored with Infection even after it's long gone.

they picked up enough information from the King and the King's Workshop that they could, perhaps, infuse more eggs with Void to create more surviving creatures like Vessels. in theory. they have no desire or reason to do so, of course, nor access to gods of Light. but they are capable of trying without definitely failing.

2. A canon or headcanon hill I will die on

canon, they're genderless. very tired of those who shrug that off.

more fanon, that they're an adult, or at least not a literal child with a knife! that can be an interesting interpretation but i really really do not feel it's the case.

13. Dumbest thing they’ve ever done

some would say coming to hallownest. the knight would inform others trusting millibelle.

but really, it was probably slapping troupe master grimm in their frustrated impatience after losing a couple times and getting absolutely wrecked.

14. Most heroic moment

the quiet choice to not kill the nailsmith, even as he welcomed it. they considered it. he wanted it. but it would have been cruel and pointless in ruins full of such things already and they left, instead.

15. Worst thing they’ve ever done

...in contrast, they did kill a few mantises after gaining the lords' respect. they still expected attack and were just thinking about the hunter's journal. they never fully processed how fucked up that was but it kind of haunts them despite that.

18. What they’d go to see a therapist about

but actually probably everything they unearthed about their "family" tbh. they got issues but they've dealt with their own internal stuff (or so they believe...) but hoo boy.

learning all the shit about their dead siblings, the hollow knight and hornet, the bound white lady who considers them a thing, the pale king that had no reason for them (the knight, any offspring) to be born but to be used and left to die...yeah they could see that offloading some of that would be nice.

26. What they would do if stuck in an elevator with [the pale king]

stare at him. prod him to talk. continue staring at him, until he talked more or responded somehow.

really, urging him to react would be most of it. they'd probably loathe him slightly less if they got to meet him and not his corpse! easier to hate one long gone. so they'd want to pester him out of curiosity and disgust and amusement in varying measures.

35. Their idea of a perfect day

being able to wander through somewhere beautiful, challenge another to a friendly spar or two, and then rest with whoever it is on a bench before more wandering :>

26. What they would do if stuck in an elevator with [Philionel]

i do not think they would be in there long. lina would be fireballing her way out and phil would be Supreme Justice Punching until the metal gave way. the property damage would be immense.

assuming that they convinced themselves there was a very good reason to sit down and wait for the lift to start working again though: i feel like they'd play cards. like, in this scenario there's nothing to get mad at and nothing to fight, so they just...turn back into normal people for a little while, same as the scooby gang does every time they sit down to eat. phil produces a deck of cards from fuck knows where and lina's like "eh??? really???" but then the camera would jump cut to 5 minutes in the future and they're sitting on the floor of the elevator playing to win and discussing what they think gourry and amelia are doing.

"huh? no way. she'll still be at the spa where we left her. gourry probably hasn't even noticed i'm gone. he's probably forgotten what i looked like as soon as i left the room"

i also think the stir crazy thing would only set in gently and it would steer philionel to act like a dad and try to imply There's Something Going On Between You And Gourry Isn't There [belly laugh] and lina's just like. try harder old man this wheel has been rolling for 3 seasons now

i honestly don't know enough about lina's younger days to have a solid grasp but if i had to guess i'd say probably she was one of those kids who likes to make potions out of leaves and grab sticks off the ground to pretend they're wands and staves, but since they also make excellent whacking sticks, it's more of an "i cast Hit You Really Hard On The Shins for one spell slot" situation.

i can't imagine her being that interested in your regular children's toys. i CAN imagine her being a child-typical violence machine with anything she gets her hands on
