Thinking about the blue sword boys and the fact that even though they were one of the first alliances in the entire series the three of them never teamed up together with only two of them ever teaming up and the third being an enemy.
In 3rd life Grian was serving Scar and was opposing Martyn and BigB of the red army
In last life Grian and Martyn were teamed up as the southlanders with BigB in the fairies of the castle alliance (hilariously Martyn then betrayed the southlanders to join BigB and become the shadow alliance)
In double life Grian and BigB were secret soulmates with Martyn joining Ren (the guy BigB was cheating on) and Pearl to become the broken hearts club. Grian and BigB were part of the red team and Martyn the yellow team.
In limited life after Grian lost his bad boys he joined BigB's alliance of the nosy neighbours who were enemies of the Mean Gills, Martyn's alliance (not 100% sure I haven't finished watching the finale)
Somehow it was only until secret life that the three of their paths (at least in terms of actually being allies/enemies) never crossed which hilariously means that this alliance has a more convincing "bound by faith" narrative than desert duo, renchanting or box boys (not to throw any hate to them I LOVE those duos don't worry)
Something also needs to be said about how back in 3rd life BigB was the ONLY one to still use a diamond sword with Grian switching to a netherite sword (he no longer uses diamond, he's no longer by their side but he's still the same Grian from day one, a Grian who still loves BigB) and Martyn a diamond axe (he's still blue, he's still by BigB's side but their dynamic has changed into something unrecognisable, no longer two blue boys but rather a hand and a soldier in a brutal war).
I just think there's a lot of untapped potential with this trio that the fandom is sleeping on.

I truly honestly believe that if weren't for the prophecy cersei and Tyrion would be frenemies. I don't know if they would be as close as Tyrion and Jaime were just because that was a love that transcended Lannister dysfunction until it DID NOT. but I think they would have always been scheming and scamming against each other but like as a love language and not in a killing sort of way. I would love to study the Lannister kids like bugs tbh but I just :( when I think about how they both revered and resented jaime for the suffocating shadow he casted while he did the same to them for not realized it also suffocated him
heartbreaking: the two worst people you know could have gone clubbing together if it weren’t for worlds evilest guy with sideburns

**P3R spoilers**
Full Moon Full Life is Life and Death singing together in harmony (with Death being intrigued by the beauty of life and encouraging life to give it their all while life is determined to pull through without falter)
Color Your Night is about a moon that fell in love with a special someone and their beloved reciprocating their affection back with a kind heart
I really can't unhear this and apparently the songwriter really did say something like that along the lines(in the persona magazine there was a mention that the latter show the warmth and kindness of the moon and as for the prior, lotus juice seems to have said full moon full life has a more friendly approach towards death as compared to the original p3 in a commentary)
These songs align with ryoji and the mc's relationship and what ryoji's said about how connections are formed both ways. They have a bond and they appreciate each other. It's what their whole link was about, forging a relationship on the paths of life and accepting death as a friend. I was really looking forward to what they'd do with this character because I had a big hunch after having seen the opening sequence AND the song that went with it.. I take these as their song and it's not so wrong considering what they're supposed to symbolize, P3R's approach towards the inevitable end is much warmer and tender! I believe that's one of the main themes, if not the theme of the game. While it's unstoppable, it could also be part of what gives life more meaning and makes it more precious..
I think that's really beautiful and it's what I like seeing, it also helps when death is one of the most loving and sweetest character you get in this franchise, isn't that a pretty sight!!
When you listen to the songs with this in mind, you can see ryoji's love towards life and the protagonist's immense.. He cares for him so much-to be fair, he has always been that way-and this time the protagonist does care for him back and considers him dear. That was made more obvious not just in the songs but in reload too, mc treasures his friendship with ryoji!! I feel that's very wholesome.

the way that maisie says “still don’t play the black key” then proceeds to play the black key to let us know she’s an unreliable narrator and that what she’s about to tell us through her album isn’t 100% truthful cause the past is a haunted house no one lives in but she’s trying to make it a past he could live in. so she’s actively lying to us all and letting us know

I've seen a couple posts now talking about the concept of an AU where Vox somehow gains control over Alastor's soul/contract. While I do agree with the common take that he'd probably try to mind control Alastor or break his spirit at first, I think he'd actually get bored of that pretty quickly. Alastor's appeal is all in his personality; putting him in a situation where he just shuts down and stops giving the reactions that make him who he is would lose its novelty for Vox within a month or two.
Imo, from there I see it turning into a "gilded cage" situation. Vox sets up a nice little club for Alastor to live in; it's classy and Alastor is free to do what he pleases with it, but he cannot leave and whatever Vox says goes. It's a kind of faux freedom that's just tolerable enough for him not to go insane, but just restrictive enough that he still feels like some kind of pet. Vox isn't physically around that often, but he's always watching; Alastor's free to make his own choices, but can only chose from a small, pre-approved set of options. It's actually not too dissimilar to the situation he put his own contractees in, and Alastor loathes that fact.

so we all are assuming that bojan's latest instagram captions are song lyrics and i think they're in order as well, and i can maybe kind of prove it (this is just for fun and i may just fully be wrong about this). so come journey with me to the world of poetry theory.
the captions put together with stressed syllables marked (yes i split the last caption into two because it made sense):
starlight effect and a cigarette you should be getting ready for the big day quotas to fill, bills to pay the center of the world on a pedestal, until it's your turn to take the fall
as you can see four of the five lines have five stressed syllables, making it pentameter (while the number of syllables overall is less consistent with 9-11-7-11-9, thus suggesting it is written in accentual verse as well, though that doesn't matter here).
furthermore there's rhymes! lines 2 and 3 have end rhyme just as lines 3 and 4, while the first line has a rhyme within it with 'effect' and 'cigarette', thus making this a rhyme scheme of ABBCC.
based on this i'd say that the captions most definitely are lyrics because otherwise there would be no need for them to be this structured, and they are maybe in order based on the rhymes, do with this what you will.

I absolutely love Legally Blonde (the musical). Elle is such a great character!!
The audience is introduced to her in such an amazing way, with her mathematically trying to figure out what to wear. “It may be perfect for a blonde, but I’m not that blonde. I may be in love but I’m not stupid, lady, I’ve got eyes.”
Elle in general is so good. She’s so smart and she’s legitimately the most interesting character to follow.
But!!! The best!!! Part!!! At the end of the musical, when she says she’s leaving, Emmett confessing that he loves her isn’t what convinces her to stay. Instead, it’s the other female characters showing their support for her!!! The way the girls in this movie support each other!!! The “Greek Chorus” is perhaps my favourite example, if only because they’re so supportive of absolutely everything Elle does!!! It’s so sweet!!! “We came to see our president be legally blonde”? Best line, I love it, it’s so good.
But also, the romance between Elle and Emmett is so fucking good. Emmett supports her through absolutely everything. Emmett is such a great person, but also his musical cue is an oboe, which means I’m biased to like him anyway-
“They laughed at me like they’re laughing at you. We can’t win if we don’t follow through.” “Though it’s hardly my business to say, could it be the real thing in your way is the very man you’re trying to impress?” “But I know it’ll all be worthwhile when I win my first lucrative trial, and buy my mom that great big house out on the cape.” “As I hugged my mom and told her, with the chance I’ve been given, I’m gonna be driven as hell.” All of Emmett’s lines are so good, all of his songs are perfect, Emmett is the best character ever.
I love the ending, when Elle proposes to Emmett. It’s the character coming full circle. She begins the musical by planning an outfit that will be perfect for Warner to propose to her to; “This dress needs to seal the deal, make a grown man kneel, but it can’t come right out and say bride.” “I’ve got t leave Warner his pride.” She’s fulfilling the stereotypical idea of the woman having to be proposed to. She can’t propose to him or look too desperate to be proposed to, because that will ruin his “pride.”
Elle proposing to Emmett at the end shows such an amazing character growth. She knows she doesn’t have to fulfill the stereotypical female role in their relationship. She proposes in a room full of people, proving that she is no longer concerned with her partner’s “pride.” She proposes by saying “Emmett Forrest, please make me the happiest woman I know.” She proposes in the stereotypical male style, but it’s so fucking sweet because Emmett is so excited and they just love each other so much-
But the best way to portray the character growth is two specific interactions. To set it up, the Greek Chorus mentions, in the very first song, that being married won’t come between Elle and their “sacred bond of sisterhood.” Later in the same song, the Chorus sings: “We love you guys.” And Elle responds: “No, I love you guys.” Note that she specifically says “I,” because presumably, Warner doesn’t actually care all that much about them.
Now, in the finale, the Chorus repeats the line, this time to Elle and Emmett: “We love you guys.” But, this time, Elle and Emmett respond together: “No, we love you guys.”
Emmett supports Elle’s interests to the point that she feels comfortable sharing them with him. She feels comfortable introducing her best friends to him and he actually likes them. It comes full circle. Elle finally has someone who supports her completely, just like she supports Emmett completely, they make each other happy. It’s so sweet.
Also, it’s kinda funny because Emmett is Elle’s sugar baby-

I know there is another song that is literally the ATOTE anthem, but "Afraid" by The Neighbourhood fits so well. For more than one character. Even the music is just so in line with the vibe of the fic.
I just realized it while listening to my "On Repeat" Spotify list.
"All my friends always lie to me. I know they're thinking, you're too mean, I don't like you. Fuck you anyway!"
"You make me want to scream at the top of my lungs. It hurts, but I won't fight you. You suck anyway."
"When I wake up, I'm afraid somebody else might take my place."

The songs of Young Royals - S1 E1
So after a few re-watch I started noticing how well the songs are used in the show and I wanted to chat a little bit about it ^^ (Because I'm usually watching alone with my cat and he doesn't really care about my opinions on how awesome the show is at picking its songs :p So hopefully people here will be more interested!!)
Bad, Farveblind
Tumblr media
I think it's wrong I think it's bad I think it's lame I think it's horrible The song starts when we see Wilhelm at the club where he gets in a fight and then we get the chorus through his earbuds in the car (note: I love it when a show put a music in the background that ends up being something a character is actually listening to in the scene!!). He just got out of a shitty situation which will have huge repercussions on his life and his mother is making decisions about his life without asking him: the show is not subtle about telling us how "wrong" and "bad" it is. And despite this lil' foreshadowing (the song plays before Minou tells Wille about his mother's decisions) and Wilhelm's strong opinion against them, it's still gonna happen. Going to a boarding school is "lame" (or so Wilhelm thinks) and the whole situation is "horrible". And yeah, it's gonna suck on a lot of points, but it's also gonna change his life...
Wannabee Ghetto, Fata Boom
Tumblr media
... Keep up the front like it's your decision ... Look our best Covering up what we're missin It's literally what Wilhelm has to do now. His mother decided for him that he should change school and enroll at Hillerska, he is not happy about this plan but has to pretend he's okay with it. He just lied to the public that it was a decision he took part in. He is the prince, even if he's not (yet) the Crown Prince, and he has an image to maintain. An image that was damaged due to the video of the fight: someone is literally putting make up on him to "cover up" the marks of the fight so he can look his "best". And what is he missing? Well August will say it at least twice: he doesn't have the same drive as him or Erik. So he's missing the desire to be on top, to be king, to keep the status quo...
It takes a fool to remain sane, The Ark
Tumblr media
... Wasn't life supposed to be more than this ... Let go off my hand and it will slip on the sand If you don't give me the chance To break down the walls of attitude I ask nothing of you, not even your gratitude 'Cause it takes a fool to remain sane ... Of becoming like the others Who become unhappy mothers And fathers of unhappy kids This song!! Such a great choice for their first song <3 Wilhelm being so incredibly unhappy and stuck because "being a prince is a privilege, not a punishment" but he wants more for his life. It is supposed to be "more than this", more than pressure and appearance. The song going on with the "unhappy mothers / unhappy kids" while we follow Erik and Wilhelm stiffly posing for pictures outside. How can Wilhelm not be scared? Is it the life that awaits him? Always keeping a nice front, not being himself? And why is that? 'Cause they've forgotten how to play But Erik and Wilhelm haven't forgotten yet!! Right after these lyrics we have a playful Erik who suggests they take off in the middle of the photo-shoot! And they do!! So there's hope for them!!
I see you, Nadia Tehran
Tumblr media
Back to their bases Covering their faces Tones through the breeze yeah The power calls crises Round my crowd No cops allowed Interestingly the song starts with "you ain't welcome here, you don't look like us". This part is not in the show but works so well for Wilhelm starting at Hillerska. He's getting hazed by his peers "covering their faces" and being really rough with him (this hazing is so yucky, I struggle watching it every time ^^'), and he's welcome here because he's the prince, because he's supposed to be part of their world. But he's not gonna be like them. Do they know it already? "You don't look like us", and thanks god for that!! (And yup, "no cops allowed", right August? You can do whatever you want here without any consequences...)
Blah blah blah, Armin van Buuren
Tumblr media
All we ever hear from you is blah blah blah So all we ever do is go ja ja ja And we don't even care about what they say The song plays while August is talking to Wilhelm about being among his peers and criticizing him for wanting to be "normal" at his previous school. I love that this song is playing because, yes, it's a good party song, but also, it's probably what everyone watching the show is thinking when August is being an insufferable prick like that! And Wilhelm too, who just usually goes "ja ja ja / yes yes yes" to what August tells him (until he stops and finally goes openly against him, but for now in the show, he just listens and nods). Erik told him he should listen and trust August, so he listens to him. But at this moment Simon appears, and suddenly Wilhelm "don't even care about what they say" because the cute boy he already has a big crush on just arrived. And August and his stupid speeches about rich people being above everyone else don't matter anymore.

Gina do you like the lyrics? And who is sally?
Hi, sugar. I do. I like the song a lot. But it’s sad, too. At least IMO. To me, it sounds like a song about his image and how people see him.
Sally isn’t a specific person, imo. He’s referring to himself. Again, referring to the narrative about who he is. 🫤

why did i only just now realize that the good witch starts with maisie saying she IS the iliad and ends with her saying that the men start wars yet troy hates helen?
like she literally opens the album by saying she is a long classic novel no one can read and figure out but ends it with the same story but highlights how no one can read it and that’s also the problem. because the men started the trojan war, and the iliad, but they still blame helen for it even though she was just kidnapped (in the most BASIC TERMS, i know the iliad is more complicated but just go with me)
like… it was right under my fucking nose????
her saying that the men start wars yet troy hates helen and how wendy will chose herself and lock her window but peter will throw his stones and call her a bitch and say it’s her fault.
like the iliad reference wasn’t just her saying that “i am a long complicated novel, of course you didn’t get me”. it’s her introducing the topic of the history of man from the beginning and saying that he didn’t get her from page one because that’s how the story of man goes.
but the difference is that in coming of age she’s taking back the narrative and trying to rewrite the story (when all i do is think about the past/make it a universe you can live in and i know i made you the BIG star/i let you butcher my big heart/but it’s my song and my stage and it’s my coming of age!) but ends it with openly admitting she can’t rewrite it. that no matter what she does the past is written and set in stone (not just the history of man but how their relationship happened and ended) and that she can’t change the past. just like how she’s been revisiting so many classic tales trying to find an answer to her heartbreak in them and realizing there’s nothing to do or change because this is simply how it goes…
baby, i am the iliad of course you couldn’t read me…the men start wars yet troy hates helen…i save you a seat and you say you want to stand
and so on

thinking about the entire speech cellbit made after green gay ninjas got eliminated. thinking about how he played el triste by jose jose. thinking about "i think he's sad but he doesn't want to show it". about "i wish i could've been that someone you needed to not be alone anymore". thinking about their vows and "as long as i'm here you will never be alone" and "i will always be by your side for anything you need". about "i'll look for you and until i find you i will not stop" and "i won't let them, i won't allow them to take you". thinking of temos todo o tempo do mundo / we have all the time of the world and la historia de este amor se escribio para la eternidad / the story of this love was written for eternity. about "it's cellbit and me against the world" and "as long as we're together we will be able to win" and "but we have one another at least". and also thinking about roier's y yo que (and what of me) after the bomb exploded. about how he never said te amo back. about how his only reaction upon getting back to quesadilla island was an incredibly telling "everything is the same, except cellbit, who's dead" and a stupid joke about his tennis shoes saving them. thinking of hoy quiero saborear mi dolor, no pido compasion ni piedad / today i want to savor my pain, i don't ask for compassion nor pity. thinking about how spiderbit was separated. but most of all, thinking about how their reunion will go. when it finally happens

Okay. So I just realised I haven't posted anything in a while and this has been in my head ALL DAY, so please enjoy my English-Lit-level analysis of why Too Sweet is the most Anthony J Crowley song ever to Anthony J Crowley!!
(What this means is that I'm about to analyse every single fucking lyric in excruciating detail, I apologise in advance)
HERE GOES!!
It can't be said I'm an early bird // it's 10 o'clock before I say a word- Starting off easy here. He slept through most of the 19th century, and can you IMAGINE what he'd be like in the mornings??
Baby, I can never tell // how do you sleep so well?- Bit of a stretch on this one since Aziraphale doesn't canonically sleep, but let's just say sleep is a metaphor. He's asking how Aziraphale can seem 'at peace' so easily, when he can never seem to find any sort of balance.
You keep tellin' me to live right // to go to bed before the daylight- Aziraphale has a very strict set of morals, some instilled in him by Heaven but also some of his own; it's one of the things Crowley loves about him, but it can also result in him coming off like he's telling people how to live their lives 'right'.
But then you wake up for the sunrise- Now THIS is an interesting one. Waking up at sunrise and going to bed in the daylight both result in a lack of sleep, but one is seen as a 'good' thing to do. Aziraphale is just as run-down and burnt-out as Crowley, but he's ignoring it because it's for the 'right' reasons.
You know, you don't gotta pretend- He knows what Aziraphale's doing, and he's saying that he doesn't need to hide behind his heavenly facade; he can be himself.
Baby, now and then // don't you just wanna wake up- So you could probably take this one two ways; either as the whole demonic-temptation idea, or as an invitation for something they do frequently: get drunk, sped time together, and ignore Heaven and Hell for a little while.
Dark as a lake // smelling like a bonfire // lost in a haze- Funnily enough, being 'dark' and 'smelling like a bonfire' are both things you could associate with Hell, or the Fall. You could hear this as Crowley asking 'don't you want to let go and have some fun?' or you could hear it as 'I know this is selfish, but don't you wanna Fall for me?'
If you're drunk on life, babe // I think it's great- He's acknowledging that all he really wants is for Aziraphale to be happy. If he lived by all his strict rules because that's what he wanted, or because he was 'drunk on life' enough not to NEED anything else, that would be great.
But while in this world- They're not gonna be on Earth forever, especially if you imagine it from the perspective of pre-Apocalypse Crowley, so they may as well make the most of the time they have left.
I think I'll take my whisky neat- Well, first up it's Crowley and we all KNOW he's got a drinking problem. But also, it's a way of saying 'I know you worry about me, but this is who I am, and I'm gonna do it anyway'
My coffee black and my bed at three- There's not much to analyse on this one. Six shots of espresso in a big cup, and partying till God-knows-what-time.
You're too sweet for me- oh my GOD, the things I could say about this line. Honestly, I just feel like Crowley is always worried about 'corrupting' Aziraphale, or not being good enough for him. He's 'Too Sweet' for Crowley, because he's never felt love as soft and sweet (the closest he's ever got was God, and She was quick to cast him out) and he's scared of breaking it.
I aim low // I aim true, and the ground's where I go- This bit's almost sarcastic, and a little self-deprecating; you can't aim lower than Hell, and by asking questions he sure hit his target.
I work late where I'm free from the phone- He works a little ahead of time to stay clear of Hell's reprimands, or 'phone calls'. Also, working 'late' could link to working in darkness, which he's been doing since he Fell.
And the job gets done // but you worry some, I know- Aziraphale is constantly worrying about the Arrangement; not for himself, but for what Hell will do to Crowley if they find out. Crowley constantly finds himself reassuring him that as long as 'the job gets done', he'll be fine.
But who wants to live forever, babe?- This part's almost ironic. Crowley doesn't WANT to live forever, but he will, and so he can afford to be a little reckless; to him, it doesn't matter either way.
You treat your mouth as if it's Heaven's gate- Aziraphale is always so careful about everything he says, even to Crowley, needing to make sure he stays 'Heavenly'.
The rest of you like you're the TSA- Aziraphale is ALWAYS careful with everything, regulating everything by Heaven's rules and regulations on what he can and can't do (think the TSA do's and don't's).
I wish I could go along // babe, don't get me wrong- Despite spending most of the song (and his life) railing against Heaven's rules, part of him still wishes he'd been able to 'go along' with them.
You know you're bright as the morning // soft as the rain- It just shows that everything Aziraphale is is the exact opposite of Crowley (or at least, of his image). He's 'bright' and 'soft', two things you'd never find in Hell, and Crowley doesn't quite know how to handle it.
Pretty as a vine // as sweet as a grape- He (Aziraphale) may be 'pretty' and 'sweet', but there's something else about him. Vines and grapes turn into wine, which Crowley is already addicted to; he's scared of becoming addicted to Aziraphale's sweetness.
If you can sit in a barrel- Obviously, grapes left in a barrel ferment into wine; he's awaiting the day Aziraphale gains just enough bitterness to go against Heaven. However, wine is considerably sweeter than Crowley's aforementioned whisky, so although he wants him to see Heaven the way he does, he prioritises keeping his sweetness rather than becoming fully bitter- he may be 'too sweet', but that's what Crowley loves about him.
Maybe I'll wait // until that day- This part's almost funny from Crowley's perspective, because there's no 'maybe' about it. He'd wait eternity to be allowed to love Aziraphale.
SO. There we go. If you actually read this far, tysm and I am SO SO SORRY, but hope you enjoyed my ridiculously long and mental-gymnastics-y analysis (I will not be rereading this or I won't end up posting it, so sorry about any mistake)
Have the best day ❤️❤️
