Zoo Atlanta has participated in golden lion tamarin conservation for nearly 30 years, and there are wild golden lion tamarins living in the Atlantic Coastal Forest today who are descended from two family groups from Zoo Atlanta. Thanks to conservation efforts the numbers in the wild have increased to around 3,000!"
