現在「FOUR ELEMENTS 」展で展示中の作品をご紹介です。

「四神〜玄武（吽）」スクラッチ、F4

四神は東西南北を守る守護獣のことです。その中で、玄武は頭が亀、尾が蛇の姿を持ち北の方角を守る聖獣とされます。

平城京・平安京の遷都の際には「四神相応の地」ということで、四神が守る地形に都を選んだそうです。

本作は四神の意味や役割を込めて描きたいという想いがあり、背景の一部に中国の古代占いで使った象形文字の１つ、甲骨文字を紋様化して描いています。

ダヴィンチコードではありませんが、絵の中に隠されたメッセージを探して楽しんでいただける作品です。

"Four God-Genbu (un)" Scratch, F4

Four gods are guardian beasts that protects east, west, north and south. Among them, Genbu is a sacred beast whose head is a turtle and whose tail is a snake, protecting the northern direction.

When the capital was relocated to Heijokyo and Heiankyo, people choose the place "the land suitable for the four gods", which protected by the four gods.

This work has a desire to draw with the meaning and role of the four gods, and one of the hieroglyphs used in ancient Chinese fortune-telling is painted in a part of the background.Although it is not a da Vinci code, it is a work that you can enjoy looking for messages hidden in the picture.
