Exploring the Edges of Our Knowledge on Matters of Science and Faith
As often is the case with me as I read, listen to discussions, and watch YouTube videos, a number of strands from those media come together. I am going to attempt to weave some of those strands together today as I tackle the edges of our human limitations, dark matter, and knowing God.
In a recent discussion between Saleem Ali and Stephen Meyer on the Unbelievable! podcast, Some things that Ali…

Do you believe in 'coincidences'?
Wayside flower. Not only did I stop to capture it. I layed down flat in the moist grass to be on the same level. To be closer to nature and to share this amazing view with you. Because #perspectivematters ...In the second shot you can see this riverside scene in the background with the #bokehlicious soft, out of focus, purple flower and green grass in the foreground.
By the way, while writing and scheduling this post, I remembered that I already shot this kind of flower. But I couldn't remember its name, so I scrolled down my Instagram page. Only to arrive at exactly one year earlier, September 12th of 2019. This is the exact same date I was about to publish this very post in 2020.
I'm blown away by this coincidence. Or was it mere coincidence? Maybe it was all part of a great divine plan. Predestined to happen. I'm obviously joking about the 'divine' part. But it's not that far-fetched. There are many people believing in the supernatural nature of coincidences like these. Several logical fallacies come to mind that explain this human behavior.
For example an argument from incredulity or appeal to common sense: It is a fallacy in informal logic. It asserts that a proposition must be false because it contradicts one's personal expectations or beliefs, or is difficult to imagine.
Of course, just because an individual has no explanation for something doesn't mean there is no natural explanation. We don't just get to insert the "God of the gaps" as a non-explanation whenever we lack a real explanation. When we don't know we say so. We don't pretend to 'know' when there is no way to show. There's nothing virtuous in having faith. It is the worst method to use when we want to learn what's true in reality.
Live long and prosper, fellow apes. 🖖😊

I wanna squish and smooch his cheeks 💙
You keep missing.. but it's okay, Noritoshi's happy to have your lips and hands brush his skin at all..! yet, he'd still prefer you stop missing the mark..
You're lucky he's fond of you, he wouldn't let just anyone squish his face as they pleased. though no one gives his cheeks kisses like you, so in a way this is a fair trade.
