I'm so deliriously happy. I uprooted my life to move to the other side of the world, because 5 years ago I accidentally convinced myself it was my new life's goal. And I achieved it. And I was scared that after 5 years, I'd built it up into something it could never be, and that I would be both over and underwhelmed by it all. And instead it's surpassed every last one of my expectations. The city itself is incredible and I love where I live. I love the buildings, I love the trees, I love the river, I love the castle, I love the cold weather. Socially I'm doing better than I ever could have expected. I'm running for a community leader type position, and have lots of people backing me. I have a wide variety of friends. I'm dating someone for the first time ever. Academically, things are great. I'm so well prepared for my classes. I just met with my dissertation supervisor, and I'm so excited about the research I'll be doing. And she wants to keep me on for the PhD, despite only really having just met me. My life is so good, and I went through so much to get here. And now I'm doing better than I ever could have expected
