Camp counselors are the staff who are in charge of kids at the camp, a lot of times they are teens or maybe college aged, they do activities with campers, look out for them, that kind of thing. Maybe similar to being a teachers aide at a school might be a good comparison?

I associate all fashion, but particularly groovy and vintage fashion and design, 70s recipes, German, Linda McCartney and Wings, and either psychedelic and/or vintage earth tones(avocado, burnt orange, dusty purple), and California poppies :)

ok. hawkeye is so motherfucking sensitive. like he really is (bos from halt and catch fire voice) taking in the world in these big gulps and it makes him feel like he's drowning because he feels everything so intensely, but he also thinks that everyone else is wired exactly like him (but also that they must not be because no one else is trying to fix things like he is) so he gets angry and bitter and funny which is what happens when you're smart and see the world is fucked up

i also think that despite accusations of irrationality leveled against him he is extremely rational. like to his own detriment. i think he's rational, but not practical. rational, but not a realist. he sees things as they are: the war is bad, the war should not be happening. therefore, i will stop the war. it's like. yeah good instincts hawk but you're going to get hurt and achieve nothing and feel worse about it after (unless of course your boyfriend throws you a party dyed entirely red. then you might feel okay after)

i think it's clear that he grew up surrounded by a lot of love. obviously this is related to my daniel thoughts but like, i feel like he develops the confidence to be himself no matter what out of the fact that his father encouraged that, and now it's gotten to the point where he couldn't turn it off if he tried, but i also don't think he wants to. he doesn't really care about fitting in, and if he ever did he's long since resigned himself to the fact that he won't, and he's kind of leaning in, and kind of liking it. he likes being weird. he likes being goofy. he loves to make people laugh, to make them happy, to make them feel better, to make them better. i mean, laughter is the best medicine, right? and he cares about the two exactly equally, laughter and medicine.

he's a performer, but he's not performing. i've said it before, but hawkeye can act, he can't lie. he's the shakespearean fool. he's my poor little meow meow. he has horrible posture but he kind of likes being lopsided. he thinks it suits him. whether it does it up to you.

Which era-appropriate actors should have guest starred on mash and what kind of character/story lines should they have had (also I feel like this is something you have already answered before, but if you haven't, same question but for Columbo killers)

we all know that robert culp and mike farrell could have done each other's performances on MASH and columbo but here are some additional thoughts

columbo: i would have liked to see ben gazzara in a villain role; he's part of the extended columboverse in that he directed "a friend in deed" but i think that it would have been cool to see him on screen / i think that rene auberjonois does sinister well when given the opportunity and it would be cool to see him slightly more against type as a columbo murderer / carol burnett should guest star in everything and i have no idea what type of job her columbo villain would have but her and peter falk would be an incredible duo

MASH: i can see natalie wood as a nurse who's brought in to consult with the 4077th that margaret is very jealous of but also desperately trying to impress, only to find out in the second act that natalie wood is trying equally as hard to impress her and then they become hash tag girl best friends / in the MASH that exists in my brain we deserved a war co-respondent but gay episode and i could see either martin sheen or michael sarrazin in an aggie role / i have no idea what role specifically i'd want to see her in but ruth buzzi is hysterical and i could see her giving alan alda a run for his money in the earlier seasons when it comes to physical comedy

Della can you elaborate on all of your thots and feelings about BJ's clothes, accessories, and pink/red touches :)

i mean, what is there to say? WHAT IS THERE TO SAY? just that hawkeye makes one offhand comment about wanting to see more red, and bj turns the entire camp red for him, and continues to be a little bit of red in a sea of green for the rest of the show??? for 2 (5) more years??? that we see evidence of his unspoken and casual devotion every time he wears red and/or pink??? that loving hawkeye is such an integral part of him that it just becomes part of his wardrobe??? that it's not just the henley, it's also the cutoff sleeve sweatshirt, it's also the suspenders which are obtained from a separate source altogether??? that he wears the suspenders WITH A BELT which proves they're not utilitarian at all, it is purely about wearing a flash of red??? that while hawkeye continues to wear his fatigues and feels no apparent need to visually distinguish himself, bj craves self-expression through bold fashion choices??? bold fashion choices specifically designed to make hawkeye smile??? to cheer him up??? FOR 2 (5) YEARS???

THAT MIKE FARRELL KEPT THE PINK HENLEY AFTER THE FINALE??? BECAUSE IT'S THAT SIGNIFICANT TO THE CHARACTER???

okay really though i think all the time about how much i would love to hear from someone in costuming. how did they arrive at this journey for bj? how did they weather the henley, or did they re-dye similar shirts in lighter colors? my gut says at least some of the fading must have been natural, maybe after a couple washings it turned pink, but then did they just keep using the same one, or did they plan the gradient? why the suspenders? why red? did red just become a bj thing, or did they knowingly call back to Peace On Us each time they added another red element? WHAT DID THEY KNOW, AND WHEN DID THEY KNOW IT?
