*clears throat* Ahhh no one asked for these, but I goaded @aspoonfuloffiction with them, and now they won't leave me alone. which I suppose I deserve. So ahh... Here's hot stay at home dad Gregory ft.Lucy feeling a little thirsty.
Gregory had been waiting to be able to do this costume, for a very long time. 6 years in fact, And Daphne and Anthony had flatly refused to let him use their children for it. But now he had his own baby And even Lucy had found it very hard to deny that Katie, all of three weeks old at her first Halloween, would look very adorable in what he had planned. The picture of Gregory smiling broadly, in his Mandalorian armor, helmet tucked under one arm, Katie in a Grogu costume in the other, ends up going a little viral from Lucy's instagram post. Lucy takes great delight in responding to some of the thirstier comments left on it with You're not wrong. The picture is the wallpaper on Lucy's phone for a very long time. And Lucy is a little annoyed that she hasn't yet been given the OK by the doctor for a more...vigorous appreciation of Gregory's costume.
It wasn't a secret that Lucy found her husband ridiculously attractive. What was surprising though was how much more attractive he seemed to be to her when he was holding their tiny baby. There shouldn't be anything sexually charged about her husband laying on the couch, their daughter on his stomach watching a movie. And yet... and yet... Lucy couldn't take her eyes off it. And now Obi Wan's going to zjooom Gregory said making a lightsaber noise in time with the television, swinging their daughter's arm in time with the noise. And he looked so happy, his hair rumpled, his stupidly adorable wire rimmed (Dad spectacles he called them) askew from Katie grabbing at them earlier, his tshirt stretched tight across his chest and arms bearing the words Yoda One for Me and god help her she just couldn't take it, heat rising to her cheeks. Greg it's time for Katie to take a nap. Gregory looked up a little startled Luce, can we please just finish Attack of the cl-? Lucy sighed Gregory you look ridiculously attractive to me at the moment are you going to keep questioning or let me take my clothes off for you? Gregory is off the sofa and up the stairs before Lucy can blink.
When Katie started preschool, Lucy had noticed that the other mothers had a certain... reaction to Gregory. She saw the way they eyed him when he bent to pick up Katie, roaring happily as his daughter giggled at being hoisted onto her father's shoulders, saw the way they cooed over the baby strapped to him, and Lucy really couldn't blame them but the poor Man had no idea. He'd never really had any grasp on just how attractive he was, how his cheeky smirk had made her heart want to burst out of her chest to get to him and now he had absolutely no idea that volunteering to go on field trips and baking for the class, and standing outside the school expertly fixing their daughter's hair was like catnip to women. And again, Lucy couldn't blame them, when she saw Gregory with their children, so happy and content to just be with the family they ha made together, it simultaneously made her heart beat out of her chest and do very filthy things to him. But that didn't stop the savage pride she felt when Gregory was called over to a group of giggling women at a PTA function, and he tugged her by the arm smiling charmingly and said Ladies, How are we today? Have you met my wife Lucy? Now you finally see why Katie's so beautiful! and the women eyed her despondently, smiles tight with a quick Hi and no, Lucy's not proud of the quite demonstrative kiss she gives him after he makes a rather impassioned speech about why they should be supporting girls in STEM. Well, Maybe A little.
And yes, on more than one occasion Lucy has caught the expectant looks that their range rover gets when she pulls into the car park. The mother's fluttering around to see the new baby only for them to visibly deflate when she steps out. Ugh save your energy Jacqui, It's Mrs. Bridgerton today Stephanie Green said and Lucy couldn't hold back her smirk as she said Don't worry Ladies, My husband will be back tomorrow, and he's bringing shortbread. And as she left she heard Jacqui mutter God she's a lucky bitch.

so a while ago someone asked me what my hcs on phoenix’s (lack of canon) parents/guardians was and I gave some boring answer but recently I’ve changed it !! a lot !! here’s 2.5k of hc under the cut !!
spoilers being that I don’t think he actually had parents
more spoilers, I specifically hc he was a child in foster care who was never adopted and had to leave for independent living once he became a legal adult (and if my wording on any of this is off, plEase do message me about it!! I’ve been doing some research/have a bit of personal experience with this on my own but yeh; also localization-based so)
my hc for phoenix’s parents used to be that they were just pretty okay people who supported him well enough but they were never /that close of a family, they moved somewhere else after high school and he stayed behind for college and then the rest of his life basically - they were fairly average people who just. didn’t quite care enough to keep in touch with their son and vice-versa for phoenix
and I love when people give him loving parent(s) hcs (like him having two moms being so popular on the kink meme a few years back) and it’s sweet and hell yeah for aus, but it just? doesn’t make sense to me in canon; there’s no mention of his parents anywhere aside from a passing comment about his mother (and if I remember right it’s because someone brought up I want to ssaaayy morgan? maybe? as a sort of ‘[someone’s] mother’ comment and phoenix being phoenix just went ‘my mom?’ like Babe), no one was there to help him during his disbarment/trucy’s adoption except for a handful of friends, no one showed up for him during college when he was on trial for murder, so ??
there’s just that single brief passing mention of a biological mother and he has no issues with calling yanni ‘dad’ for that bit in 1-4 / ema ‘what are you, my mom’ in 1-5 and obviously great-grandad ryuunosuke, but that’s all I can think of regarding canon mentions of any sort of family? which, wow what a lot to work with
so. yeah. maybe his biological parents died or couldn’t support him but regardless, he wound up in a home and was never adopted and just booted out once he turned 18 (or whatever the respective age for that state/district is, I do base most of my hcs off weird localization so heyo LA)
like. here’s all we know about phoenix’s childhood (and if I’m forgetting anything, hmu):
-what happened at the class trial (and a lot of homes do have their children attend public schools)
-he’s an only child
-it was raining during his elementary school graduation
-dahlia/his murder trial in college
-he fuckgh tipped cows once goddamit phoenix
like that’s…. it, that’s all we know about him/his past prior to college, so this hc does make the most amount of sense to me considering canon + just his character overall?
it explains his fear of abandonment/hatred of being alone and maybe why all the kids turned on him so easily in the class trial (if he was the ‘weird’ one without parents then imho it’d be even easier for those kids to believe someone ‘out of the norm’ could steal money, like if they were already so willing to turn on him based on the simple fact that he wasn’t in gym that day mmMMM add that in and you’ve got even more to it), why he clings so fiercely to people and will do anything to protect them (eating glass for dahlia, changing his entire career for edgeworth, running across burning bridges and kicking down doors for maya, etc), why he adopted trucy so damn quickly when he honestly had no real reason to other than being /phoenix and not wanting her to wind up lost in the same system he did
it explains his immaturity in college before mia rolled in, if he never had a lot of individual attention/guidance growing up it honestly does make sense he’d be a bit more immature than other 20-somethings (mia is 100% his mom but like. adding in this hc, mia is his mom, one of the first people who wanted to genuinely help and guide him when he never really had that before)
it explains his quiet jealousy/self deprecation of wealth/appreciation for finer things but why he still spends his money on things like taking maya and later pearl out to lunch so often (off-track but phoenix wright wants to be domestic ok he wants to be So domestic, he wants a big open home with comfortable furniture and nice dishes and a loving family and uGH HE’S GONNA HAVE IT ALL… SOMEDAY……), why he acts like such a big brother/paternal figure to maya and pearl right off the bat even at just 24-25 years old
it explains why he wants to help people so much and is willing to sometimes do it for free if they really have nothing, he’ll gripe about it later for sure but he does occasionally view his job as an attorney and helping those with no one on their side a bit more highly than a paycheck (also tangent but I never really understood the hc about phoenix hating ~charity?? it’s such a popular one and if there’s anything in canon that supports that plS message me because I genuinely just don’t get that one, in 1-4 he thinks something along the lines of ‘wonder if I can get edgeworth to pay this month’s rent, too’ after edgeworth posts bail for maya, like Yeah it’s played more of a joke than anything else but idk I? never really got that he’s too prideful to ask for help, financial or otherwise - he’s never been the greatest with money between sometimes letting clients off the hook/only taking a handful of cases per year and that’s a flaw on its own, but disliking any sort of financial assistance so vehemently I never understood for him? ANYWAY TANGENT SORRY)
it explains why he kind of just did whatever the hell he wanted with his life (I’m a third year in college right now which was the same year phoenix was when he switched his major from art to law and if I changed my major rn my parents would be sO pissed with me lmao ((another hc that the reason phoenix is so poor is that he’s still paying off fuckin 7+ years of student loans ,bye))
so. yeah. phoenix who hit the respective age limit for foster care and wound up entirely on his own, lost and clutching vague ideals like a family through theater (getting to that, hang on), then to dahlia’s love and then the desire to save/see edgeworth again (phoenix has pretty big issues with motivation too, especially when he’s alone (why he gets all mope-y whenever maya’s gone djfld) so if something more tangible shows up he’s more likely to see it through; he’s extremely single-minded and he clings a lot to people who are important to him, like he was willing to swallow poisoned glass for dahlia and change his entire goddamn life for edgeworth So these leaps make sense to me here too considering the shift from something less concrete to /more)
and I’ve fully embraced takumi’s idea about him wanting to pursue shakespearean acting in college rather than any sort of visual arts (‘I’m in the art department!!!’ college phoenix says, 'WHAT KIND OF ART’ I yell at my DS), and when I factor this new hc into his college life it makes a lot of sense there too?
his wanting to be an actor was never his Dream or anything, he dropped it in a heartbeat for law and he explicitly says he never once regretted the change in 3-5, but? I have a fair amount of theater friends and they all agree that being in a theater company is like having a family and that’s something he would have really wanted; he always liked language and the drama and tragedy and comedy and romance of shakespeare’s works too (hc the only other thing he bothered taking with him besides clothes and a bit of money when he left was a dog-eared volume of shakespeare’s best), but those being the only reasons he kinda just decided 'why not, I’ll go into acting’ - there wasn’t anything deeper beyond that, he just. didn’t have anything else /planned for his future, no matter what he chose it didn’t really matter so why not pick something he had an interest in and where he’d be guaranteed to be around other people??
my mom never went to college and she says a large part of that was because her family didn’t support her so she never felt she could amount to anything in school (she wanted to go into theater herself, interestingly enough), so kinda just? phoenix never having that attention and support from a parent/guardian/anyone (again, leading back to his lack of maturity in 3-1), he just picked something he thought he might enjoy in acting and the second he saw that newspaper article about ~demon prosecutor edgeworth he started hunting down some law books on the side too
because acting never meant /that much to him, not over saving someone (especially /this someone hahHA)
I always had the impression that miles and larry were some of phoenix’s first real friends, so if you think about miles being his first friend/first person to stand up for him in the class trial when !! kid with no parents that no one liked !! it makes it all the more aaAAAAAAAGHH and his determination to save edgeworth /back even !!! more !!!!!
plus phoenix later learning that miles only has a single father himself and finding a bit of comfort in that is really sweet to me too? miles doesn’t have the most conventional family either but he loves gregory and gregory loves him and they’re doing just fine on their own; gregory meeting phoenix a few times and being so happy that miles has friends/phoenix always being genuinely interested whenever miles brings gregory up is. pure
((another random bit soRRY LMAO I DON’T POST MY OWN META A LOT, BEAR WITH ME - my hc for miles’s biological mother is that they kind of just dropped him off with gregory as a baby and bowed out, they were never a part of his life and never really wanted to be but miles never felt he missed out on anything growing up either; gregory is like the Ultimate Single Father, he loves talking/thinking about miles in his flashback case but if I remember right he never brings up a partner or anything, so just ?? single dad gregory… ye boy….))
oK so that’s over, I’m almost done with this post I swear
takumi put a lot of himself in phoenix and I always found it interesting that we never really got any information about his childhood/guardians beyond the class trial and random bits and pieces of memories, especially considering the fact that phoenix is one of our main leads (and would have stayed our only main lead in trilogy if capcom hadn’t wanted him back for AJ); for ema and lana we got a passing comment about how their parents died in a car crash and it was never gone into further detail than that but it was still /something, for phoenix we don’t even have that
aa deals a lot with broken families (fey and edgeworth and skye and von karma and gramarye and sahdmadhi and khura'in), intentionally or not, so? having one of its main protagonists be a man who never once actually /had a blood family of his own but works to mend/help others (like… ignoring… how trucy and apollo still don’t know… and that’s something I honestly can’t fault phoenix for entirely as he waited to ask thalassa what she wanted to do as their biological mother and she asked to keep her relation to them private for a little while longer, like it still drives me up the wall that it’s gone on this long and as trucy is his /daughter he should at least be able to tell them they’re //siblings if not necessarily reveal who their mother is until thalassa is ready lmmao, but I blame the writers for that more than anything else at this point) is something I really really love, and along the way he crafts his own family and clings to them so tightly and mMM YEAH
I DON’T KNOW HOW TO END META POSTS BUT THERE U GO, THAT’S MINE

All right, twist my arm. Lucy and Gregory for Spicy Sunday please 🌶. We know Lucy can barely contain herself when Gregory gets back from the gym...can she wait until they get home or do they dare take care of business before they make it home?
Or anything else really. I’m here for Lucy and nerdy glasses Gregory always. And they do have a million kids so y’know...they’re doing something right. 😉
Why thank you for obliging me! I’m glad someone picked up on my not very subtle hint to ask for a little Gregory and Lucy 🌶Spice 🌶. Poor Lucy can barely contain herself when it comes to Gregory and I plan to use this post to further the “Gregory Bridgerton is very hot™️” Agenda.
I am also going to make this my last Spicy Sunday post for today I think, and I have received everyone’s requests, and will get to them all next week (Anon: I have reserved a Spot for Phillip and Eloise so get ready for some pining)
Lucy Abernathy was the kind of woman who liked to be in control of everything. There was a reason she liked the look of a colour co-ordinated desk, and seeing Kate’s appointments stacked neatly on top of one another: something deep in her psyche craved order, the twisted part of her heard her Uncle Robert’s voice in her head You’re an Abernathy, Lucinda. You must try harder. And that lead to her keeping everything about herself on a very tight leash. Uptight, Frigid her ex boyfriend had called her as he’d left her sitting at the table in a restaurant when she’d tried to calmly explain why she thought their relationship should end. Honestly, it had barely bothered her, she liked her calm, ordered life. And then Gregory Bridgerton walked into her life. With his glasses askew and his hair rumpled, and the way his shoes never matched his belt, and neither matched the satchel, that had a row of neat little pins on the trap, all like beacons of his interests, and a slow spiral had started.
She hadn’t had any intention of taking Gregory upstairs when she’d driven him home after work his confession still echoing in her mind Lucy All I want is You. She’d thought they’d talk and order dinner, and God she didn’t know what else. But then He’d stood in the entrance hall, nervously hanging his coat and satchel in the closet, glancing around nervously, fiddling with his glasses, and he just looked so... handsome, and he said he loved her, and she’d been in love with him for nearly a year and she just couldn’t stop herself from reaching forward, and tugging on his tie until his feet fumbled forward their lips meeting in a heated kiss, stumbling and fumbling up the stairs, her hands fumbling with the buttons on his shirt, sliding it off his shoulders when they reached her bedroom, pushing him against her mattress clad only in his Boxers that were dotted with... storm troopers bless she felt a ridiculous wave of affection for this man who was looking a little embarrassed, even with his eyes locked to hers.  “You’re adorable.” She whispered as she stood above him, something like awe on his face as she slowly unbuttoned her own blouse. His hands twitching by his sides as he watched her slowly take off her skirt as well, stepping out of it her hands reaching for the lace tops of her stockings and then:
“Leave them on.” Gregory’s soft voice said, a shiver running down her spine at the gentle command in his voice, her eyes shooting to his in surprise, her eyebrows raised at the soft command. He shifted nervously against the sheets. “Please, I mean. If you don’t mind.” Lucy felt her head tilt to the side, considering him, perched on the edge of her bed, his hair disheveled, his glasses still askew and her heart did a funny stutter. Her voice was rough when she stepped closer to him. “What else do you want, Greg?” He swallowed convulsively his eyes dark as his hand reached tentatively for her, waiting for her to step back. She didn’t. His hand came to rest on the edge of her bustier, his fingers curling underneath it leaving a trail of fire against her skin.  “This can stay on, For now, these have to come off though.” He said, his fingers trailing up her thighs, along the edge of her lace underwear waiting for her to comply, his eyes burning into hers. “Good. Now come here.” His voice so commanding, so different from his usual persona she couldn’t stand it, heat pooling in her stomach as he tugged her to straddle him , his lips on her neck, on her collarbone insanity creeping in as his hand reached between her thighs, gentle pressure building and building.
“So beautiful, Lucy. I want you to lose control, let yourself go. Perfect.” His voice like gravel and she could barely breathe, the heat in her stomach quickly climbing as his hands moved over her. Her eyes closing at the contact, “No, Luce. Eyes on me.” Her eyes shot open their gazes tangling as the last of her control snapped and she shattered, his eyes dark, burning against hers pinning her in place with just his gaze. And when they fell apart together some time later, his head slumping against her chest, his hands still on her hips, hers in his hair, holding him tighter to her, letting him feel her heartbeat thundering away for him and he said, his commanding voice from before gone, his usual shy voice returning but a little breathless with exertion, his glasses fogged, “Was that um... okay? Lucy?” and laughter bubbled in her chest as she dragged him further up the bed to rest against the pillows she thought maybe it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world to give up a little bit on control. Especially to Gregory Bridgerton.

Because I'm me I couldn't let Star Wars Day (May the 4th) go without checking in with our favourite Hot Nerd™️ Gregory Bridgerton.
This is of course dedicated to @aspoonfuloffiction whom I know loves Nerdy Gregory as much as I do.
Gregory had been 5 years old when his big brother Anthony had showed him Star Wars for the very first time and it was cool. Anthony had et him sit on his lap, which was always really cool and there were so many lights and colours on the TV and there were space ships and aliens and it seemed just like magic and Anthony had to keep adjusting the straps on his glasses so they wouldn't come off when Greg moved around in excitement, liking how his shoes lit up just like the swords. And When Mummy and Daddy took Greg to the optometrist the next moth and he recognised one of the characters from the movie on a set of glasses he begged his Daddy for those ones. And when he ran home the next week he couldn't wait to show his brother. And Anthony grinned at him, lifting him up roaring happily and said Well look at you Artoo and Greg had never felt so happy.
Maybe a Star Wars Phase was something that you were supposed to grow out of, Gregory wasn't really sure. All he knew was that every time he watched it he still felt that same childlike sense of delight. And Maybe it reminded him of a time before Anthony had to be more than just his goofy big brother who used to to sneak him vimto chews when mum wasn't looking or maybe he still just had a wild crush on Natalie Portman as Padmé Amidala he really couldn't say. But he still loved it, watched it once a month minimum. And then he'd met Lucy Abernathy. And Lucy seemed so, poised and refined in a way that he was more than a little embarrassed by his loved of something that his previous (short-lived) girlfriend had called childish that he'd desperately wanted to hide this part of himself. But it was too late. She'd stood above him in her lingerie and looked down at his Storm Trooper boxer shorts and it had made her... smile. She looked at his Star Wars posters in the living room and chuckled to herself kissing his cheek and Greg didn't really know what to make of it, but he certainly wasn't going to push it. So when three weeks into their relationship she sat, curled on his sofa next to him flicking through a magazine tutting about something or other and her eyes flicked up to him and said I know this is usually your weekend to watch Star Wars Why don't you just put it on? He'd sat open mouthed until she sighed, stood from the couch and started Phantom Menace herself before she settled back against him kissing his cheek lightly. And then when she said, in a perfect mimic of her voice I will not condone a course of action that will lead us to war. Gregory knew they would have to pry him away from Lucy Abernathy with a crowbar. And when he went into work and found a tiny little Han Solo figure glued to the monitor of his computer he couldn't keep the smile off his face. Especially not when he clocked a Leia Organa on Lucy's later in the day.
Gregory had obviously been very excited when his first daughter was born. He loved children, loved being an uncle to his sibling's kids, but something deep in his chest had ached for a child that was one part him and (hopefully) 300 parts Lucy. To hold his child in his arms and know that it was given to him because Lucy loved him, was a moment he would never get tired of. And when Katie was placed in his arms for the first time he hadn't been able to hold back his tears. He was so excited to share everything with his daughter, an entire lifetime of his favourite things to share with her. And yes, he ha watched Star wars with his nieces and nephews but this felt different because this was his daughter. And so, he'd sat, 4 days after they'd brought Katie home from the hospital, his tiny daughter cradled gently in his arms, Lucy pressed into his side and started watching Star Wars, he'd truly thought his heart would burst with happiness. And when Katie marched into the living room years later and said I wanna be Padmé for Halloween He'd thought his heart would burst with happiness as he swooped down and lifted her onto his shoulders Then you can be Padmé Katie cat! And Lucy had tutted and sighed, with a smirk on her face and a kiss on his cheek I should have known nerdy boys like you were the most dangerous. So adorable, they make you fall in love with them and then turn your children into dorks. And her voice was so filled with love and affection that Gregory fell in love with her all over again. Especially when Katie said, in a startlingly close imitation of her namesake If Daddy's such a nerd why did you fall in love with him Mummy? And Lucy's eyes softened as she stared up at their daughter Sweetheart I just couldn't help myself.

After our earlier conversation I would absolutely love some Gregory and Lucy proposal goodness.
Thank you for helping further my trying to continue to push Gregory Bridgerton in the fandom dialogue agenda!!!
Alerting Everyone to what a beautiful little angel cinnamon roll Gregory Bridgerton is, is God’s work and I’m truly stoked to be doing it. Doing it as much for myself as anyone else at this point and I have another Gregory and Lucy prompt in my inbox as well so... stay tuned!
Okay! Gregory and Lucy+ Proposal
“So how are you going to do it?” Kate’s voice broke through Gregory’s reverie as he stared down at the emerald ring he’d bought 15 minutes ago, the little halo of diamonds around it glinting in the afternoon light. Gregory Startled  “I actually hadn’t really considered it.” He said, a little surprised at himself. He’d been so focused on this first step he hadn’t really considered how to do it. Anxiety churned his stomach. This was the most important question he was ever going to ask anyone, he had to do it properly. Had to show Lucy that he was serious, that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her, and Lucy was perfect, so this had to be too.
Kate hummed thoughtfully, as Gregory’s mind raced.  “Should I get a sky writer? Anthony tried to propose with Newton right? Maybe I should buy her a puppy! Or a Kitten, she’s been talking about how she wants a cat recently. I’ll get her a kitten and then she’ll want to marry me for sure-” Gregory started rambling nervously as Kate’s laughter cut across him. “Greg, I don’t think you need a kitten to make Lucy say yes, honey. I know she wants to marry you.” Kate said firmly, and Gregory felt a warm feeling settle in his stomach, the anxiety calming slightly at the confirmation. And then Kate continued. “Anthony bungled his proposal a few times, and in the end, he did it right there in our kitchen and he just... told me he loved me and asked me to spend my life with him. And I’m glad those other times didn’t work out because I remember every second and it was beautiful.” She said, a soft smile on her face as she stared down at her wedding rings. “So what you’re saying is this needs to be perfect because Lucy’s going to remember this forever. Great, Thanks Kate.” Gregory quipped, the anxiety returning. Kate rolled her eyes.
“I’m saying, don’t overthink it.”  Gregory considered carefully for a second before he said, quickly “So we’re thinking no to having Ewan McGregor ask her right?”
 ________________
Gregory had been acting very oddly all day. Well, for a few weeks now if Lucy was really honest with herself. He’d been very particular about putting his own laundry away. and kept saying things like In five years maybe we’ll do that huh Luce? with an emphasis on the time frame as though he was testing her. And just this morning she’d gone to get his Diary from his satchel when Anthony had asked and Greg had practically sprinted across the office screaming “Lucy what are you doing in there?!”  And he’d stared at her all through lunch, barely listening, fiddling with his bowtie. Little Obi Wan Kenobi’s dotting it, his lucky bowtie he called it. Lucy couldn’t help but wonder what he needed luck for. And as she’d stood at the end of lunch leaving a light kiss on his head he’d caught her arm and tugged her until their eyes met, eyes own behind his glasses staring piercingly at her as he said seriously “Lucy, I love you.” and her heart had stuttered a little at the seriousness in his voice and she’d had to clear her throat as she said  “I love you too, Greg.”
It was all just a little...unnerving. Not Gregory saying he loved her, he did that about every 45 minutes, but the rest was a rich tapestry. And then there was Anthony. Anthony who kept smiling at her brightly, and giving her odd little looks until finally, at 3 o’clock she’d snapped. “Anthony why are you looking at me like that? You’ve been doing it all day.” Anthony looked mildly taken aback his eyes darting quickly to Gregory. “i’m not looking at you in any particular way, why would I be looking at you Lucy. What a notion!” Anthony said quickly, walking towards his office “Gregory, I’m going home, I have a wife and son there.” And he left... in the middle of the work day. But as he’d passed Lucy’s desk she could swear she’d heard him mutter  “I can’t believe Kate’s going to win that bloody bet!”
And perhaps oddest of all, was that Gregory had refused to leave early. After Anthony had left everyone had filtered out slowly, being a Friday afternoon. But Greg had claimed he had work to do, remaining resolutely at his desk until he and Lucy were the very last people in the office, the lights dimming slightly around them. And Lucy watched carefully as Gregory took a deep breath, straightened his bowtie, then his glasses, collected his things and said  “Let’s go home, Luce.”  He took her hand, swinging it between them like they always did as they walked out and then, just as she reached the reception desk Gregory suddenly stopped, and when she turned towards him questioningly, her heart did as well.
Because Gregory Bridgerton was kneeling next to her, his hand holding a jewellery box with the most beautiful ring she’d ever seen glinting in the lighting and she couldn’t help herself, her heart beating a million times a minute, tears coming to her eyes, “Yes!” Gregory’s mouth fell open a little in surprise, his other hand fiddling nervously with his glasses, a shy grin on his face. “Can I... Can I at least say my speech first? It’s pretty good. Lot’s of nice things about you in it.” He said, laughter in his voice, his chest puffing out proudly. Lucy felt laughter bubble in her chest, even through her tears. “Go ahead, but I’m pretty sure the answers going to be the same.”
“Lucy Abernathy, I think you are the most absolutely incredible person that I’ve ever met. You are so smart, and funny, and kind, and a little scary when someone’s in your way in a way that’s absolutely adorable. And you accept and love every part of me.” His voice was getting a little choked, and Lucy could feel the tears running down her face. “I thought a lot about where I wanted to do this and The very first time I saw you, you were standing right here, and that’s the day my life began. Because I know now that the reason I’m here is to love and support you and I know we’re still really young but  I swear to god Lucy, I will be the person you deserve. La la la Lucy, will you do me the very great honour of becoming my wife?” He finished, tears fogging his glasses a little and Lucy’s heart was bursting with love for this beautiful man who thought he had to try to make her happy. When all he had to do was be himself.
“This is traditionally where you’d say your line.” Gregory said lightly, adjusting his glasses nervously again and Lucy felt a smirk twist on her lips “Yes.”  And Gregory leapt to his feet, wrapping his arms tightly around her as he spun her around the foyer where they’d first met three years ago.  “I love you.” Gregory whispered firmly in her ear as he placed her back on the ground. “I know.” Lucy quipped, her heart skipping happily as Gregory groaned  “Ugh Lucy, You’re my dream girl.” Before he stooped and pulled his lips firmly against her own.
Thanks for indulging me!

helloo!!! please feel no rush to get back to this (or honestly don't feel any need to get back to this at all, I can't imagine what your inbox looks like these days) - I severely miss Gregory and Lucy and hearing about them so I would love any headcanons you have for them. I love your writing!
Well Hello there fellow Lucy and Gregory Stan! Very pleased to see you!
Are you the one that sends me all of the excellent requests on them? As we know, Parched Lucy and a nerd Gregory truly live rent free in my mind and I too have missed them this last week!
Ahh yes, this inbox is truly, a very manic place to scroll through, and y’all have some truly excellent ideas that I can’t wait to fill!
So! Lucy and Gregory! Let’s go!!!!!!!!!!! (Too many exclamation points. I sound Manic, but I promise I’m just excited!)
Lucy Abernathy had never considered herself someone that was very into tattoos. She appreciated the artistry behind it in a very nonchalant way but she’d never considered them for herself, nor had she ever seen one and found it enticing really. Until she came home from brunch with Kate one Saturday evening (brunch with Kate was always an event) to find Gregory sitting on their sofa very very nervously. Lucy was instantly concerned. Why do you look like you’re waiting outside the head Teacher’s office? She’d said, much more freely than she felt. Gregory startled a little and adjusted his glasses, swallowing. Lucy, I did something today, and I just want you to remember that you maybe possibly love me? Lucy rolled her eyes at her fiancé raising her eyebrows. This tattoo artist that I follow on instagram had a cancellation and I- and Lucy’s heart stopped, because Gregory had raised his shirt slightly and there on his rib cage was a tattoo, several really like a patchwork quilt. There was a Death Star that bled into tardis, and something that looked suspiciously like a bouquet made out of stationary, and a Cup of coffee, and I Love You scrolled underneath, a testament to their lives together on his skin. Forever. And tears welled in her eyes as she looked up at him, her hand hovering just over the artwork and he still looks a little unsure as she tugs him down for a kiss.
A month later she has the words I Know tattooed on her right wrist, a tiny pair of glasses next to it. Her Uncle Robert calls her as soon as he sees her Instagram post Tell me you did not do this for that boy, Lucinda! Lucy laughs brightly at says I’m rather afraid I did Uncle Robert, and she hangs up the phone as he yells angrily.
Thank you for indulging my Greg and Lucy love! 💕

I would love to hear more cute Lucy and Gregory headcannons especially when they just started dating
Y’all know what a sucker I am for Lucy and Gregory so I’m sure I have something rattling around in here
Gregory is very, very nervous when he stands outside Lucy’s door the Friday after he begged her to love him. He’d stood at her desk this morning with a bunch of flowers clasped in her hand and said I wondered if maybe you’d like to go out tonight... I mean... if you don’t have any other plans? Lucy had looked up at him a little surprised, and then with a soft smile on her face said mmmm I dont think I can, I’m going to spend time with my boyfriend tonight kissing him on the cheek as she took the flowers from him and his heart had threatened to leap out of his chest at her use of the word. But now, here he was, waiting for her to open the door, carrying his heart in his hands. All his anxiety washes away when she opens the door, grinning broadly and says I know we were going to go to dinner, but do you just want to go to the cinema instead, I don’t really feel like a fancy dinner tonight. They eat popcorn for dinner and lay awake trading secrets and Gregory thinks for certain this is where he wants to spent the rest of his life. With his arms wrapped around Lucy Abernathy.
They say I Love You for the second time in a much less dramatic way. Lucy had been biting back the words for a month now, every time he went out for a meeting with Anthony and just took her coffee cup with him without being asked, returning it filled when he returned, when he looked at her, with his glasses crooked and his boyish grin on his face, when he smiled to himself reading a Wonder Woman comic, when he moved above her whispering her name like a prayer. And it was getting harder and harder to bite it back. Luckily she didn’t have too for much longer. They were sitting on the sofa in his living room, Lucy sitting sideways, her legs stretched out over his, his hand drumming the beat of the star wars title music on her legs as Episode I plays, Lucy idly reading Vanity Fair half tuned into the film, and she finds herself saying, in time with the film I will not condone a course of action that will lead us to war without looking up from her magazine. She feels Greg stiffen next to her. His voice tentative Did you... just quote Queen Amidala? Lucy looks up a little confusedly and says Well... I have seen it before you know Greg. Gregory stares at her, his mouth hanging open just a little frozen and then he seems to shake himself, leans in close and growls in her ear. I Love You and that was the sexiest thing I’ve ever heard Lucy can’t help the laughter bubbling from her chest, before she says I love you too. Gregory pauses the movie to show her just how much he loves her.
Gregory is by nature not a very confrontational person But he can’t seem to help himself when he runs into Lucy’s ex boyfriend. Mitchell Davis works in finance, and he’s exactly the kind of man that Lucy’s uncle would prefer her be with. Gregory feels a little prickle of irritation every time Her uncle mentions that he, Gerald, is just the wastrel youngest son of the Bridgertons and while he knows that Robert Abernathy has a grudging respect for his brother Anthony, that in no way makes Gregory good enough for his niece Whose grandfather was an earl you know! So when Lucy’s brother introduces Gregory as Lucy’s friend to Mitchell at the Christmas party for Abernathy Media, Gregory watches as his handsome face lights up in a smug smirk, how we pulls Lucy in for a hug that lasts a few seconds too long, even though Lucy tries to pull away. Greg feels his temper flaring. Feels it settle into his chest when the Man’s hand runs a little too low on Lucy’s back, Lucy trying to pull away, tugging his insistent hand off her. Gregory’s patience snaps when he leans in close to her ear and whispers something that he can’t hear but brings a clearly disgusted look to Lucy’s face. Mate, I’m going to have to ask you to keep your hands to yourself she’s obviously uncomfortable. He says, squaring his shoulders, putting on the voice he’s heard Anthony use countless times. Mitchell looked up a little surprised, sneering. And just who are you to make that judgement specs? Gregory takes a heavy step towards the man, placing himself between Lucy and him, he feels Lucy’s hand on his back, comforting the anxiety in his stomach. I’m her boyfriend, Dick. And he hears Lucy let out an odd breath and a murmur of yeah you are.

Hi Molly—So I was rereading OTWTTW, and I noticed something: Towards the very end of the book, Lucy says “I know” to Gregory! I didn’t think anything of it the first time I read it, but after reading (and loving) your modern interpretation of them, seeing that dialogue in canon gave me a smile! Of course, you might have already noticed this before, but just in case, I thought I’d let you know!
Tumblr media
Okay! You caught me!
This right here^^^ I why I decided that Gregory would be a Star Wars fan in my AU. I mean obviously Gregory who is precious and sweet would be a complete dork but THIS, being the Star Wars nerd that I am, made me think of Star Wars. And then I couldn’t unsee it!
And suddenly Gregory had glasses, and storm trooper boxer shorts that he was a little embarrassed by when she saw Lucy’s lingerie but like, damn he didn’t expect for her to see them tonight and he didn’t have time to swap them out for something more adult! Because Jesus Christ, you can’t just show up at Lucy Abernathy’s house, which is tastefully decorated in a ridiculous way, in your star wars underwear when it’s painfully obvious that her own underwear is the exact same shade as her lipstick!
So yes! I did notice this, and I have been waiting very patiently for someone else to notice it so thank you to you!!!!!
Beautiful, perfect, amazing, show stopping, spectacular!

Hello!! Life is a mess, your au is wonderful. Seriously I keep checking it every few days and ending up late to work BC I get distracted scrolling through to catch up. Loving the Lucy and Greg content, was wondering if you had the time or inclination for some content on them and their shenanigans pre-relationship? Don't get me wrong they're like my favourite couple in the series but I always loved the background of them being honest-to-god friends before they fell in love!! Anyway no stress! Have a good day! ❤️
Oh heyyyyyy!
Life is a mess, you’re right. Being an adult is the actual worst, like I didn’t ask for this and now I gotta go to work everyday?? And then decide what to eat?? And the actually make it?? Ugh it’s relentless. And I’m very flattered you see this little AU as something worth being late for work for and I will admit, I am sometimes late to work because I’m writing these little posts. What a pair we make!
Okay! I’m so glad you enjoy Lucy and Gregory!! I think they’re so underrated in the Bridgerton fandom and I have taken it upon myself to force them upon everyone!
So, per your request here are Lucy and Gregory In the early days of their acquaintance, before Lucy looked at Gregory and realised she was rather unfortunately in love with him. And before Gregory saw Lucy laughing in His brother’s house and realised he was a complete idiot.
Gregory Bridgerton had only worked at Bridgerton and Sons 4 weeks, and he didn’t know very much about the working world, but he did know this: Lucy Abernathy was the most competent woman he’d ever seen, and it was absolutely effortless. She walked with purpose around the office, her head held high managing Kate’s schedule perfectly. No one said no to Lucy Abernathy, what she needed was achieved with a firm voice and a smile, needling and wheedling what she wanted. And no one cared, everyone in the office loved Lucy. Gregory watched as she asked The man from IT who came to look at her computer about his wife, asked Janet from HR about her son John, charming everyone. And he couldn’t help but watch her, fascinated by her competence. By the fact that the pens in her pen holder were all the exact same colour, the notebooks on her desk meticulously organised, all exactly the same colour, her filing system impeccable. Why are you looking at me like that? Lucy said irritatedly one day, barely glancing up from her computer. And Gregory felt the truth slip past his lips before he could stop it I’m just learning about you. You’re interesting. And Lucy had stilled, finally turning towards him, her brow furrowed in confusion. If you were half as interested in Anthony’s filing system you’d have noticed I changed your name to Geoffrey Bridgerton 3 days ago, Have fun correcting it. And as she disappeared into Kate’s office with a sly smirk on her face, Gregory felt another surge of respect towards this odd woman. _
La la la Lucy! Gregory’s voice sing songed across the office to her. Lucy rolled her eyes spinning her chair in the direction of his desk. Yes, Gregory? How many I be of service kind sir? A smirk lifting the corner of her lips as Gregory grinned at her, leaning back in his chair, fiddling with his glasses as he said I’m bored, do you have any games you play? Lucy scoffed, turning back to her work, Yes I do. It’s called work hard and then go home, you should try it some time. Gregory’s laughter echoed across the office sending a strange little flutter through her stomach. Come on Lucy Loo! I know you do something all day other than manage Kate’s appointments. Lucy had considered carefully for a second, eyed him a little suspiciously, in the wide eyed earnestness that seemed to emanate from him, and then sighed I call it Hide and Seek. I count how many times Anthony’s eyes flick to Kate in the staff meeting. And then How many times she blushes when their eyes meet. Gregory guffawed happily, My God, Lucy Abernathy you are absolute amazing. We are betting on this this afternoon! And when Lucy left work with a crisp £50 note in her coat pocket she couldn’t help but be very satisfied with her afternoon’s work. And a little thankful to the way Anthony’s eyes had flicked to his coworker 89 times in an hour.

i’m a sucker for hyacinth x gareth!! would you consider writing fluff with them?? if not that’s totally ok, thank you :))
Would I consider writing fluff for Hyacinth x Gareth? I would love to!
Y’all know how fond I am of this AU’s Gareth (Manbun Gareth MBG) A tattoo artist with a heart of gold who wooed Hyacinth when he was just 18? We love to love him, Ladies.
Gareth St Clair had turned 18 the day before he met Hyacinth Bridgerton, and his grandmother had strong armed him into attending her annual charity ball and he was rather embarrassed to say he had absolutely no plans for the future. And then he’d met Hyacinth Bridgerton who seemed to have nothing but plans for the future. She had her sights firmly fixed on a career in politics and god help anyone who stood in her way. And he fell hopelessly, ridiculously in love with her, but he still had no idea what to do with his life. And he certainly wasn’t going to be the man his father claimed he was, riding on someone’s coattails, and when he sketched idly on a piece of paper he looked down at the tattoos already covering his arms he knew exactly what he wanted to do. He just didn’t know how it would fit with her life.
Hyacinth found his sketch book six months into their relationship. Gareth, what’s this? She’d said, her brow furrowing a little, and Gareth suddenly felt nervous as he saw the portrait of her she was holding up, her face in profile. Um I sketch sometimes, it’s just a hobby He said awkwardly shrugging his shoulders as his girlfriend tutted, already terrifying at 17. Gareth, you’re really good at this! These are amazing. Is this what you want to do? And he sighed, took a deep breath and whispered I want to do tattoos. So quietly that she had to ask him to repeat himself I want to be a tattoo artist he said louder, and Hyacinth’s eyebrows shot up, and Gareth quickly averted his eyes, unable to look her in the eyes, only for them to shoot upwards seconds later at the sound of her laughter. I LOVE this. She said loudly, wrapping her arms around his waist, the top of her head just skimming his chin You should do something you love Gareth she whispered against his chest and Gareth felt, maybe for the first time in his life, what it felt like to be supported.
Gareth had spent 3 years on his tattoo apprenticeship, then 2 years working in someone else’s shop before he’d opened his own. And on the day he stood in front of his shop Ink and Diamonds Hyacinth’s hand proudly in his, even her terrifying older brother Anthony clapped him on the shoulder with a Well done, Gareth. And when her family had gone home, and Gareth had sat at his new chair, Hyacinth had whispered in his ear I’m so proud to be your wife you know. And Gareth’s heart had threatened to beat out of his chest as she peeled off her shirt and said Now I think I’d very much like to be your first customer Mr. St. Clair and Gareth grinned, put on his glasses and gloves, and went to work.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the Gregory/Lucy content! They are my favs, and I feel like they don’t get enough love across the wider Bridgerton fan community. You fill a huge void, and do it so well!
You are absolutely most welcome for the Gregory/Lucy content. I love and adore Gregory Bridgerton to a woman saying she couldn’t marry him was “But I love you so much! Let me show you!” He’s so ride or die for Lucy and it’s very endearing. (The bar is so low for anyone wanting to date me, just be a perfect mix between Anthony and Gregory Bridgerton, come on boys). Nerdy, Glasses Gregory in this AU literally lives rent free in my mind, with his wife who loves him a little too much (me, Lucy is me) And Lucy’s love of all things practical and order speaks to my soul. The way she can’t let her shoes be the wrong way round in the wardrobe? A Mood!   Anyway! I’m so glad you’re still enjoying these two crazy kids, that I can’t seem to stop myself from yelling about like GREGORY COLOUR CO-ORDINATED THEIR PANTRY JUST BECAUSE HE WANTED TO SEE LUCY LAUGH
Anyway! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Hi Molly! I just have to say I’m living for all your Bridgerton and Sons content. Kate is amazing and nerdy Gregory is so fun. I can’t wait to see what you do with the other siblings and partners.
HI!
I’m so glad you’re enjoying it! I feel like this universe has truly exploded in my face in the two months since I wrote Insufferable and I’m continually surprised by everyone’s very kind reaction towards it!
Kate Sheffield (Sharma in the show 👏🏻👌🏻) is my absolute FAVOURITE character in the entire Bridgerton series. So much snark, so much personality, so just 👌🏻👌🏻
And Gregory Bridgerton. Oh sweet Gregory who stood in front of Lucy and told her that he loved her and all he wanted was to be her husband even as she desperately tried to tell him she couldn’t marry him. That man has my heart I’ll tell you what. And glasses Gregory loves absolutely rent free in my mind. Just. Ugh. Need Gregory. I am thirsty Lucy tbh.
Anyway! So glad you’re enjoying the madness! 💖

Hello!! How are you doing? I just wanted to stop by and tell you how much I love your blog!! I’ve pretty recently got into the Bridgerton fandom so all of your content is literally a godsend! I also finished Gregory‘s book today and THANK YOU FOR ALL THE GREGORY X LUCY CONTENT!! They might not have knocked Kate and Anthony from their spot as my favorite couple but I do love them so much. And the headcannons you have about (especially Gregory being a nerd!) are wonderful!! Anyway, I just wanted to let you know how much I love your work!! Also, your blog helped inspire me to create my own Bridgerton side blog where (hopefully) I’ll feel confident to post my own Bridgerton fanfic!! That’s all, I hope you’re having a great day/night!! 💛✨
Wow thank you so much! I have to say, it’s Monday morning for me here in Australia and I have seen 6 patients and desperately wished I had called in sick! But! This message just made my day so much better!
I am more than happy to keep providing Lucy and Gregory content, nothing would give me more joy. I’m sure you’ll be surprised to learn that Kate and Anthony are my favourite but Lucy and Gregory are for sure number 2. And they do seem a little neglected sadly so I’m more than happy to do my part!
Nerdy Gregory lives absolutely rent free in my mind. Him and his glasses and his little nerdy ties, I can’t.
Before I started this series I had basically never written before and I’ve been so thankful for everyone’s very kind words and support so thank you very much for yours!
I would absolutely LOVE to read your Bridgerton Fanfiction and I hope you’ll share it with me when you write some!
Have an amazing day!
