I'm so tired of fighting all the time. Fighting for things I want, things I deserve and things I shouldn't have to fight for - like taking a vacation or choosing which subject to major in. I'm tired of always searching for the silver lining, even when it's barely visible.

Fighting the patriarchy, fighting the systems, fighting the institutions, fighting the age old concepts of traditionality, fighting with friends, lovers and parents - it's been a long life of fighting. And to think I've barely completed a quarter of a century in this world and how there are probably bigger fights left to fight in the future. So, the only option left is to buckle up again, cause either we win, or we die fighting.

It’s been 12 years since Walker dropped the bomb. It certainly changed my life forever. All potential plans went out the window. I got arrested. I went back to school. My parents separated and divorced.

I still remember the feelings I would get when I was in the Capitol, full of people and hope. We really thought we could do something. The problem was that the people in power had more than we did, and almost everyone just gave up and went home. It’s honestly why I have such a cynical view of protests. We had the numbers, and it didn’t mean anything in the end.

I’m in a bad mood. Can you tell?
