The Boys set their cakes outside - and Noxeema had apparently aroused another Operation Decorator Storm for Love Day - her favourite holiday. But first things first - Genji has a lot to explain. The Dorm is safe - Ms Coombes made sure of that. There is a lot to talk about and not a lot of time since Genji will be missed by the Council. So...without further ado, Sai got to the point.
Tumblr media
Saiwa: "How did you survive Ji Ho's blood while Vlad had to die?" Genji: "The Council summoned and threatened me - brought me to a lab and gave me those blood bag infusions..."
Tumblr media
"I suppose they contained meremaid blood. So I could get used to it and not die when I would drink of Ji Ho and keep him with me after Vlad died. They planned this, I'm sure." Saiwa: "What? But... ok, ok keep going."
Tumblr media
Genji: "I almost died but eventually my body got used to it - for a price… I changed... and the bloodlust arose."
Tumblr media
"They brought me to Copperdale then. I was so thirsty and it only got worse since no one seemed eligable. And then I saw him (Ji Ho)... I tried to hold back for a few days but I was at the verge of death... and when you showed up in front of my house that day... I'm so sorry."
Tumblr media
Saiwa: "But where did they get this blood from? To stir a bloodlust just for Ji Ho - it had to be Ji Ho's blood. Ji Ho - have you ever been forced to 'donate' your blood?" Ji Ho shakes his head. Saiwa: "Strange... Maybe one of your relatives?" Ji Ho: "My mother and my brother are dead. I don't know of any other relatives. I don't know who my father is, but he was no mermaid - neither was my brother."
Tumblr media
"So this Lab. Was this in Strangerville?" Genji nods. Saiwa: "Felix hadn't been idle since we left as it seems. We could still restore the data we gathered from the Lab and search through the logs from the time after we left to find out more." Genji: "Ji Ho. I'm sorry. I will make it up to you, I promise." (Hell-ena in the background ;)
Tumblr media
Outtakes (kind of, they made this up by themselves ^^')
Genji: "Hereby I declare: I will do everything I can to help you to solve this! And I dedicate my life furtheron to Ji Ho! I swear this on our everlasting bond!" Vlad: ò.ó Saiwa: -.-'
Tumblr media
So this is what the Council wants from Vlad? His death? But why don't they just kill him then? No one cares when the Council kills 'creatures' like Vlad... Just like no one cares when you, say, kill a cow and eat it. They are just creatures. Some even approve of it. One creature less to worry about and be afraid of...
'Hurt and pain. Still not enough to let go. Have you felt this way? Is there a cure to endure this deathless woe? Will I fall and break or will true love prevail?'

a man has
"a man has fallen into the river in Lego city!" slkkimmmkkkkkle reported on the news, wearing jorts.
"looks like...." gronzly pwuwuays anime smirked and anime laughed and anime smirked again cause he's cool. "it's a job for............."
drumrolls played and suddenly the national anthem of pudding started playing in trumpet. that's right. it was schlatt- wait, schlatt?
schllkat was making out with the giga pudding and probably doing more disgusting things with it but I won't describe it to save all your souls. "PUUUU-DIIII!! PUUU-DIIII!!!!" the great puddi puddi cried out, suspiciously like a moa-
im sorry. let's move on.
"WHAAAT? WHAT IN THE GLOOPIN GLOOPERS IF THAT?" sllmmmmkkkdkkdikdkkckckckcile shouted, brains exploding from the pure shock of being blessed by the sight of- that's right- JORTHULU. the new of jearth rose from the river, lifting up the man (condi) and saving him.
cumdickfiction (imsososorry) came ashore and became a religious man this day. worship jorthulu.
butt. but there was darkness leaking on the shadows. omae wa mou. shindeiru.
NANI?!
THATS RIGHT. THE RIGHTEOUS GOD (of anime) ROSE FROM HIS DEPRESSION WEEB CORNER AND CHALLANGED JORTHULU TO THE BATTLE OF GODS. the winner would get the title of "haha lmao noob I won you didnt haahahahhaha". truly the greatest title of all.
the battle was a battle not of fighting. no blood shall be spilled from this duel. no- this was the duel of FUCKIN' RAP BATTLES BABYYYY!!
"JORTHULUUU!! JORTS, JORTS JORTSJORTSJORTSJORTSSSSSS!!!!!!" Jorthulu cried out in powerful shouts. "JORTS, SORTS, YORTS, MORTS! RICK AND MORTY, TOM AND JORTY!!!!"
the cry rang out for miles. it seemed impossible anything would defeat tit.
Sweat dripped from Griowozly's forehead, lips pressed into a think line and hands clutching nervously on both sides of him. He took a hesitant step backwards, suddenly regretting everything he'd ever done. What if all the training he did was useless? The singing of jorthulu was so strong, ten thousand people were already lured into the cult. Dammit. Why does the world have to be so cruel?
No. No, Grizzly, you're NOT ALONE!
what....
It's me, bizwii, uwu!!!!! I believe in you Grizzly. or something. I know that we can with our power of uh, the script got ripped up hold on- WITH THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP, WE CAN DO ANYTHING! Was- was that good? Can I have Beewee back now-
................yes. that was right. How could he have forgotten?? of course......
"HAHHHHHHHH!!!!!! YOU MAY HAVE YOUR SONGS AND YOUR CULT, BUT I HAVE THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP ON MY SIIIIIIIDEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!" Grizzly declared, raising his hands up.
sir condifiction snapped out of his trance. grizzly was right, who the hell cared about this random fake god? FRIEDNSHIP WAS THE REAL KEY!! Condi transformed into his god self, with cracks of time and space flickering around him and with a KA-CHANG, he brought out a portal gun from tommyinnit's forgotten portal gun mod video.
and there was THUDS. THUD, THUD, THUD, VROOMMMM!!! A STORM OF ANIME GIRLS WERE COMIGN HIS WAY!
"Stay grizzly!"
"I love you grizzly!"
Wiping off his nosebleed, gronzy pways used his simp powers to collect a ball of energy like anime.
"You forgot about one thing, Jorthulu. You were so hungry for power, you went to the evil and forgot about friendship."
Grizzly smirked.
"The most important thing. Friendship and trust."
With that, the screen was blinded by a white flash and the dark mode users lost their sight forever. however, they were not all lost, for they still heard this:
"Thank you, my friends. Together, we can do anything."
"...So where's my five bucks?"

shattered glass
warnings:angst,Mindy being silly, not entirely proof read(sorry guys)
summary:a beautifully blissful relation quickly ruined by five words.
A/N:oh boy has it been wild, i am sorry for not being able to do any requests but i should be back now. Apologies if you don’t even want this anymore but i’ll be putting out fics little by little however all requests will be done soon, once again sorry guys.
________________________________________
Three months. Three months of sneaky touches, secret kisses, lousy excuses to get some privacy. And yet no one knows that you and Tara have been in love the whole time.
“I know your secret Y/N.”
Or maybe they do.
The group are currently at Tara and sams apartment having their weekly movie marathon. And here you are under the shadow of Mindy Meeks as she is currently confronting you on a ‘secret’.
“Wha-what? Secret?pfffft. I Have absolutely no secrets, i am a very honest woman.” You awakardly giggled as Mindy was sill glaring into your soul.
“Oh?so we’re playing dumb? Let me sign it out”
“You, plus, woman-“ you already hated where this was going and so did Tara by the worried glances she kept sending you and her fidgeting hands.
Of course you loved Tara but there are countless reasons why no one can know. For starters, sam does not like you and you are terrified of sam.
“Admit it Y/L/N, you used my excellent movies knowledge to flirt with blonde in film”
Wait.what.
To say a confusing amount of emotions were running through you would be an understatement. On one hand you are overjoyed she infect does not know about you and Tara, however… you would debate your film skills are better than Mindy and of course most importantly you did NOT flirt with the girl in your film class.
“I-im-.what?’ You rather smoothly stuttered out.”Clara? You know one of the prettiest girls in school, not to mention BIG crush on you’
You take a quick glance over at Tara who does not look like the happiest girl in the world with this information.brilliant.
“Please the day Y/N gets a girlfriend is the day the word ends” sam ever so handsomely chimes in, shes sat over near the kitchen island sipping a glass of water.
“Oh no, you’d be surprised Y/N may be a nerd but she actually bags” chad continues, if you do say so yourself make the matter so much better.
You feel Tara’s jealousy radiate off her like she was just hit by a nuke and you were the giga counter.
“I left my phone in my room” without another word Tara stands up from the settee and beelines towards her room.
The group share their looks of concerned glances.
sighing you stand up “ill go check on her” and with that you’re walking right after Tara. blissfuly missing the switch from confusion to the most grinch looking grin coming from Mindy as she watches your figure walk after her.
You softly knock three times, Tara swiftly opens the door locking eyes with you.”hey”you sheepishly slime. “’bags’ huh?” She quotes.
“My love you know how chad is, i only have eyes for you i promise.” You cup her cheeks.
“Ill make sure of it” she grins pulling you into her room, making sure to close the door behind you.
It had been hours since you’ve been able to kiss eachother and it shows because neither of you realised Mindy standing at the door absolutely gobsmacked.
“Oh my actual like god, like jesus can strike me down i Knew it.” hearing Mindys voice you and Tara immediately pulled away. “Mindy listen you cant tell anyone please i-“ and abruptly Tara was cut off with Mindy running to tattle to the rest of the group.
“Woah Mindy you good?’ Sam questions noticing the girl.
“Y/N and Tara are dating” she blurts out just in time for you and Tara to run into the room.
Remember that nice, cold refreshing glass of after sam was drinking? Well it’s currently shattered on the floor landing right beside her jaw.
“Tara.room.now” and she’s storming off. Tara give you a gentle squeeze and runs off fete er sister.
“Ill,just ehm. Ill clean the glass” chad awkwardly runs off. Mindy is facing you, a look of concern mixed with regret, “hey,im sorry i didnt think-“ “no. no you didnt Mindy,im going home”
And with that you’re gone.
It had been weeks since then, chad keeps telling you how sorry Mindy is and Tara has ben completely avoiding you.and trust you were feeling the effects of her absence, you had tried your best to talk to her.
Walking up to her in school?walked past. texting?.ignored. calling?blocked,
It was gone, the most beautiful thing you both had tried desperately to protect ripped away because of a silly mistake.

Where's My Sister's Purrloin!? A Hugh Analysis
Tumblr media
"Yeah… OK! Let's go get your Pokémon! There's something I have to do! And to do that, I need someone I can trust besides my partner Pokémon. A person I can trust! That's right! I'm talking about you! You seem like you've got good instincts!" <- Meeting Hugh outside of Aspertia City
Oh Hugh! Definitely one of the most misunderstood rivals. Also one of my favorites (also that seems to be a trend with the characters I like but that's a topic for another day). Hugh is our sole rival in BW2 and he's a rival with one of the most unique motivations for a rival character in the franchise.
Let's start by looking at Hugh's name which is rather straightforward. In all of the translations it's a homophone for the word Hue which is a major property of colors in color theory. He follows the naming conventions of Cheren and Bianca in that there all color themed which harks back to gens 1 and 2 where the main characters have color names (which makes sense as gen 5 was a bit of a soft reboot to the franchise in some respects). Of note his German, Spanish and French names of refer to the famous painter Henri Matisse who was known for his Fauvism style which opted for strong colors, again reinforcing the color symbolism. Interesting to note that Hugh as a given name that has mix of Irish and Germanic origin meaning "mind, intellect and spirit" with it actually being an anglicized version of Gaelic "Aodh" which means "fire". Hugh is certainly very intellectual, spirited and fiery especially when it comes to getting his revenge on Team Plasma and getting his sister's Purrloin back.
Tumblr media
Next to look at his team. Like many rivals, he gets a traditional starter, but it's one that he raised from an egg. One that's actually stronger than your starter on the type chart. But honestly I think his signature Pokemon (based on what we see in Pokemas) is his Bouffalant. Bouffalant is described in a few Pokedex entries as be wild and reckless charging at everything. Which is quite reminiscent of Hugh during much of the game when it comes to Team Plasma. Indeed when you take a look at the rest of his team members you'll see that often times Hugh opts for high-risk, high reward moves such as Wild Charge on his Eelektross and Bouffalant (which gives recoil), Giga Impact on his Unfezant (forces the user to not use any move after atacking, leaving it vulnerable), Fire Blast/Hydro Pump/Leaf Storm on his starter (high powered but not 100% accuracy).
Which when you look at his character overall, makes a lot of sense. He's very passionate but the passion veers into recklessness in many respects.
Hugh gets a lot of flak from the community for going on and on about his sister's Purrloin. But people do that forget this is his driving motivation. And also most Pokemon characters tend to repeat themselves (which is less a symptom of them being bad characters, but of the writers not knowing how to vary dialogue that gets the point across without being repetitive).
But yes Hugh's very unlike most rivals in that he really isn't concerned about the rivalry. It's not that Hugh is a jerk. He's very kind to the player and generally respectful of others outside of Team Plasma (to whom he does not show a lot of mercy to in the beginning). It's just his primary goal isn't besting the protagonist. Rosa/Nate just so happen to be friends that he challenges to see if they can keep up with him while he takes down Team Plasma. In many ways he expands on the role carved out by Silver, who also was more concerned strength for the sake of defying his father than dealing with the protagonist but just didn't mind antagonizing them when they crossed paths. And Gladion and Marnie also fall in this trend as being more concerned about a goal that's not just "I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was".
"You're a little worried? Are you KIDDING me?! Your Pokémon might be lost forever! Whatever! I'll look! ! Help out!" <- On Flocessy Ranch
This a line that sticks out to me as it occurs when the owners of the Floccessy Ranch lost their Herdier and Hugh is extremely upset…more upset than Herdier's actual owners. At this point in the story he hasn't revealed the whole bit about his sister's Purrloin but this line is good foreshadowing to the eventual reveal. He's seen the trauma first hand of a stolen Pokemon can do and it causes an immediate reaction
"Shut it! You guys are the worst! You talk about saving Pokémon, but you're just Pokémon thieves! Don't think I'll ever forgive you!" <- Meeting Team Plasma in Virbank
Now I know Pokemon isn't known for writing but I honestly feel like they were doing a good job in slowly revealing more about Hugh and his motivations as we continued to encounter him during the journey. Once again we're adding more to Hugh, that not only has he probably seen a Pokemon get stolen, but that Pokemon was stolen by Team Plasma. But more importantly you can see a major flaw of his. That he is struggling with forgiveness as we see that he constantly references not forgiving Team Plasma throughout the game
"Five years ago… Team Plasma stole my little sister's Purrloin. It had been given to her as a present. I was only a little kid… I couldn't do anything… So… So that's why I have to get stronger!" <- Nimbasa City
And here's the big reveal. Now what sticks out to me is how powerless he felt. Of course this is a common trope with young characters who have been in serious situations to feel powerless and become hellbent on getting stronger to the point it kind of blinds them in a way (cough Paulo cough). But it's nice to see this in Pokemon with Hugh. It fits into the underlying theme of BW2 that deals with progression and how the region of Unova as a whole progresses from the events two years prior.
Given that Hugh states that Purrloin was taken 5 years ago that means that Team Plasma had been starting their public operations 3 years prior to the events of the original Black and White Games (we know of course N had been groomed by Ghetsis to be king as a young child but this gives us confirmation of them starting more public operations earlier in the timeline). Hugh, his sister, and countless others in Unova had been suffering the loss of their Pokemon for half a decade and that's heartbreaking.
Hugh: "Wait! I just remembered. Clay… Why? What's the reason? Why have you forgiven Team Plasma?" Clay: "There's always room for folks to grow and change, ain't there? And, if ya only go after what ya think is right, ya might end up rejectin' all thoughts and opinions other than yer own. That's mighty dangerous." Hugh: "Hmph… Is that one of those compromises adults are supposed to make? Whatever! I'm gonna fight Team Plasma! Oh yeah, what were you wanting to show us?" <- Clay and Hugh after the player wins the Quake Badge from Clay
This exchange is really important as while Hugh at the moment isn't truly ready for forgiveness from Team Plasma…it's shows he's not so closeminded to the idea as if he were, he wouldn't have even asked Clay why he had forgiven them. He's still resistant to the idea of forgiving Team Plasma as we see in later moments he's vary wary of working with ex-Team Plasma members to fight off Neo Team Plasma, but all hope is not lost. This is an important first step in his overall growth.
"That's the ONLY Purrloin in the world that my late grandpa caught for my little sister!" <- On the Plasma Frigate for the second time
This is a huge line for me. I've seen one too many people joke over the years "It's just a Purrloin, LUL. Why can't he just go get another one for his sister" and it lowkey irks me. Like his late grandfather went out of his way to catch that Purrloin for his sister. That's special. And even if their grandpa was still alive, or if someone else had of caught it, it doesn't change the fact that Hugh's sister bonded with that Purrloin. That's not a bond you can simply replace. Who knows if another Purrloin and his sister would've bonded the same way. It shows a great deal of maturity on Hugh's part to understand what that Purrloin meant to his sister compared to those (both in-universe and out) who say it's just as easy as replacing the Pokemon with another one.
"Wh-what? Don't mess with me… That's someone else's Pokémon!" "Sorry… This situation is messing with my head… I just don't know what to do… I finally found my sister's Pokémon, but now it's glaring at me… Why?!" "… … Hey… … If we let Team Plasma do whatever we want… There'll be more sad Pokémon like Purrloin and Kyurem…" <- On the Plasma Frigate for the third time upon finding his sister's Purrloin
This is such a poignant moment in BW2 for me because Hugh finally finds his sister's Pokemon…only for it to glare at him because it's now used to being under the Shadow Triad's control. You can feel his hurt through his words because this was his goal. This moment. And now he's not even sure he can bring this Purrloin back to his sister. Give Hugh a hug because he deserves it.
"Thanks to you, I accomplished what I set out to do during my journey! I wish I could've shown you my little sister's huge smile! This is my thanks!" <- Victory Road
We get a chance to meet Hugh in Victory Road and we get to hear some good news. His sister and Purrloin have been reunited! It's really touching to see such a good ending for him and his family. Hugh's dialogue is also much more relaxed in Victory Road now that his mission is over. It's good to see him more at ease after him being so wound up the majority of the playthrough
"What? I heard that Team Plasma left many Pokémon behind when they fled. And I'm helping find their real Trainers… That aside… Since you're here, you should have a battle with me before you go!" <- In Driftveil for postgame rematches
And even better? Hugh's begun to forgive Team Plasma (well at least the part that was genuinely following N). This is a huge step forward for someone who was pushing Team Plasma grunts out the way earlier and being hellbent on vengeance. Hugh honestly has one of the most satisfying conclusions for a rival in my opinion. He gets his goal, he learns a valuable lesson in accepting that (some) people can change, and he doesn't have to feel inferior to the player who is constantly beating him.
But Hugh's not done there! When he arrives in Pokemas we get to see him featured in two prominent stories. The first one is Revel In Rivalry where he gets into beef with Bede. It shows that while he has grown he still is a bit quick tempered seeing how easily provoked by Bede he was. But he learns to calm down and come to a truce much faster than he did with Team Plasma (granted there were more dire circumstances there) showing how he had grown from his journey.
Then of course there's the Unova Villain arc where this time it's Hugh that has his partner Bouffalant stolen. And to make matters worse he's been captured alongside N. What I loved about the Unova Villain arc is the focus on Hugh's growth. Yes, he's still very hotheaded. But he's learned to trust and forgive seeing as how he figured out N's identity well before Ghetsis told him in an attempt to break the partnership the two had formed while in captivity. Pre-character development Hugh would've flipped his shit on N. But hearing him talk about the people who spoke so highly of N (referencing the fact that Hugh works with the good part of Team Plasma to get the stolen Pokemon back to their trainers) and him saying he trusts N shows how much he's grown. It's really heartwarming to see him and N team up against Ghetsis' sorry ass.
Tumblr media
So yeah, Hugh's a great character that I feel like needs more love in the fandom.

LORE DUMP TIME!
'AEBMO' Stands for An Extension of Magazines, Barrels, and Ourselves, Coming from Ruby's "Weapons are an Extension of ourselves" and Extended Magazines and Barrels, modifications for guns.
The Process of a weapon becoming a person is called 'Awakening,' beginning with the weapon being able to communicate to it's 'Wielder,' the one who pours their Aura into said weapon; that which cares and handle the weapon the most.
After the initial 'Awakening' it will generally take some time for the weapon to 'Form,' actually gain the ability to go between being a weapon and a humanoid - the outliers for how long it may take for a weapon to Awaken and Form is determined entirely by the emotional state of the Wielder - Crescent Rose both Awakened and Formed within the span of a few seconds, while Myrtenaster Awakened several months before she Formed, and was only able to Form while Weiss was fighting the Arma Gigas.
The Humanoid Form of a Weapon is determined by it's physical state as a weapon and Vice versa, while also Drawing elements from from it's Wielder.
After enough damage a Weapon will Form back into it's weapon form, and if damaged enough (Note the difference between Disassembly and Damage) Will be put in a Dormant state, unable to communicate in any way, and will stay that way until repaired, unless they become damaged beyond repair - say Melted into a puddle- in which case they cannot be saved.
Singular Weapons/Shields usually are about the same age as their Wielders, Notable exceptions being Crocea Mors, as He's 80 years old as a weapon, so He's pretty old compared to the rest of the cast, and Weapons that combine and break apart, such as Midnight, are often younger, Midnight also being an exception of sorts as She's a genuine child, young and innocent.
Weapon Pairs, Such as Ember and Celica, or Storm and Flower tend to be smaller than their peers, and, well, are pairs, one for each weapon in the set.
You got 15 knives? Congrats on the 15 new people relying on you.
The Personality of the Awakened are determined by the Needs and Wants of the Wielder, often contrasting or Exaggerating the qualities of the Wielder.
Myrtenaster is Flirtatious and Easygoing compared to the Uptight Weiss, while Hush is both Crueler and More Cunning than Neo. Hush also speaks in Southern Drawl.
Weapons and Wielders can break away from each other, if the Wielder chooses to Separate from the Weapon, or if the Wielder Dies. The Weapon cannot 'Live' without a Wielder, and requires someone to share Aura with it to survive.
Prosthetics, in most every case, Cannot Awaken, the sole exception Being Yang with Celica, as Celica came before the arm, was implanted in the arm, and was reAwakened, as Yang believed it to still be Celica, not just her arm. This does mean that when Celica Forms, Yang loses her arm.
Awakening is a VERY Recent phenomenon, only beginning to occur at most a few months before Ruby stops Torchwick, and no one can determine the cause of it, but most everyone is grateful for it.
...
Huh.
I wonder when Penny woke up?

I'm still baffled as fuck about the reaction to Testament and Bridget in Guilty Gear Strive.
Like I'm happy that people took Testament well, considering they used to be a super edgy person with a blood scythe and a look that was goth rock as fuck - with their sunnier disposition, new look and explicit nonbinary gender identity, I was expecting an absolute shitfight. But Testament got through totally fine - I legit didn't see a whiff of backlash, even from the usual right-wing gaming shitholes I'm familiar with.
But then with Bridget? "THIS IS AN INSULT TO THEIR CHARACTER ARC WOKE WOKE WOKE WOKE WOKE IT'S ONLY IN A BAD ENDING WHERE THEY FEEL COWED INTO IDENTIFYING AS A WOMAN SJW SJW SJW FEMBOY RIGHTS THEY TOOK THE ONLY FEMBOY CHARACTER FROM US HOW FUCKING DARE THEY WOKE WOKE WOKE"
Like I'm glad that there was an equally passionate trans audience who was not only there for this character development, but who countered that storm of horseshit. I love the direction that they took Bridget.
It's just like - why did Bridget get a giga-fuckton of discourse and vitriol and horseshit thrown her way when Testament, another character who changed their gender, got through with next to no backlash? Not in the sense of "wow, jeez bigots, be more consistent next time!" - I'm really happy there wasn't any Testament discourse - but like... I just don't understand how one got by completely fine while the other one got torn to fucking shreds.
And it's not because Testament snuck in under the radar, because the Testament reveal was pretty widely circulated, even on the aforementioned right-wing gaming shithole sites I mentioned before. The reactions I saw were either indifferent or explicitly positive. They were just as visible as the Bridget reveal.
This isn't an invitation to change my mind about Bridget, she is a trans character and I like the turn that Strive took her in. Nor is this trying to throw Testament or nonbinary people under the bus. Stoking community infighting is for feds, fuck that shit.
I'm just genuinely baffled at how we went from total acceptance of a nonbinary character - a nonbinary reinterpretation of a character from the first Guilty Gear game, no less - to apocalyptic fucking nuclear fire when they wrote Bridget as a trans girl coming to terms with her identity. Why were the reactions so different?

How about 5 headcanons for a duoholders Snow White AU? Yoichi as Snow White, All for One as the evil queen, Second as the prince, and the other holders as the seven dwarves. Thank you!
1- as it happens, Yoichi is the fairest young man in the kingdom. This is irrelevant because AfO doesn't care about looks, having risen from a gutter rat to the throne by incredible violence and so much magic theft, but it is something to know. Anyway one day AfO tells his magic mirror that he must be so strong that he doesn't have any weaknesses. The mirror says he only has a few, but he is very strong. AfO asks what they are.
"Your largest weakness is your brother, in basically every way. Then, your habit of vague orders just because the thrill of what people are willing to do for you is sometimes fun."
2- AfO has already stopped listening, wondering how Yoichi could be his weakness, when he never listens to his bad ideas anyway and keeps him safe in the castle. The mirror starts to explain that there's actually a plan right now to steal Yoichi away from the castle that night- and the operatives already have an in.
3- AfO leaves, calling for Gigantomachia, ranting about the mirror saying Yoichi was his weakness and that his loyal guard was to take Yoichi into the mountain woods and take care of him while AfO figures out the planned attack. Yoichi is confused when Giga shows up in his room when he hasn't even started the latest escape attempt, and it gets worse when he's dragged out to the woods. Giga finally stops and Yoichi collapses, asking if Gigantomachia is supposed to take care of him, as in keep him safe, or take care of him, as in finish him off and hide the body. Giga admits he's not sure, because it's used both ways, and the next that it's Yoichi makes it more likely the first, except the fact that it's the middle of nowhere makes it more likely the second. Yoichi says that it'd be bad for Gigantomachia if he mixed it up and was hurt for his mistake, and he hates it when his brother hurts people, so maybe he should leave Yoichi there and go back to check which one it was? Giga is wary, even if he didn't catch the prince in the middle of an escape attempt this time, but decides that hiding Yoichi in a tree and tying him there so he can't leave will work. Then Giga leaves.
4- Yoichi does his best to get down, and fails. Then he hears people in the woods- it's Kudo and seven others. He calls to them for help. Kudo goes to the tree and asks how he got there, but Hikage stops him and says that's the prince, left there by the king's giant guard. He was in the woods, watching stealthily, when it happened. Kudo is suspicious and asks why he's there or if this is a trap, and Yoichi says his brother wouldn't put him in a trap like this. Kudo, who was on his way to the castle with his rebellion to take out the prince, the king's most obvious weakness, figures this is good enough, climbs up, unties him, and helps him down. Yoichi is then willingly kidnapped to their headquarters, hidden near the old mines.
5- unfortunately, AfO still has a magic mirror. Yoichi warns them about it, but they decide to take the risk to keep him, since their home is warded against the king. And for several months, they're safe... Until one day, Yoichi was left at home with just the young teen Toshi and little kid Izuku, and someone came near, a very lost merchant with beautiful fruit in a basket. The merchant's face was weathered and his hair wild, clothes torn, movement jerky. Toshi hides Izuku behind his legs as Yoichi asks how the merchant got there, he explains he got lost in the nasty storm last night- and been lost for days since. Yoichi buys the apples for a lot of money to help the merchant get back, and on taking a bite, collapses. The merchant cackles that his plan to steal the body of that traitor Shimura's relative worked to get around the wards, and now he'll take his brother back- and since Yoichi's mouth was what let him escape last time, and when he's asleep he can't escape or talk! Toshi attacks, and does well, but can't win- when the smoke settles, Izuku has long since dragged Yoichi hidden under the bushes, and Toshi, injured, is dragged off by the angry AfO.
+1- Kudo and the others return to the scene of carnage, and Nana hears crying that leads them to Izuku and Yoichi, who seems dead. Izuku explains what happened. Kudo checks for any breathing, while Bruce checks for a pulse. Nothing- but Bruce knows it's been hours, and Yoichi's body isn't cold or rigid. So he starts chest compressions, and the bit of apple in his throat is unlogged. Yoichi blinks his eyes open just as Kudo leans down to put his mouth on his. Yoichi is confused, but he's been trying to get an idea of if Kudo likes his back for a while, and this is finally clear! Then he shoves Kudo back, asking where the weird merchant and Toshi are. It's time for a rescue mission! And then,,, more kisses,,,

Races Among the Stars 8: Giant
Something that’s been coming ever since we first got entries for what giants have been up to in the far future of Starfinder, Ports of Call granted us a playable giant option!
More specifically, an option to play as many of the various large-size giant subspecies, so sadly no playable cloud or storm giants and the like, not without homebrewing, anyway.
While advances culturally and technologically have made sure that even hill giants have access to education to leave behind Pathfinder-era assumptions behind, giant culture as a whole is steeped in tradition and history, hailing back to their descent from the gigas, who in turn descended from the titans.
In this far-future era, their love of tradition and heritage means they spend much time honoring and preserving those traditions even with the modern amenities and advances all around them.
While giants are all large humanoids that seem very human-like, this does not truly encapsulate their appearance, especially since many have ties to the elements. Additionally, their proportions are oftentimes somewhat off from the human norm, rather than just being “resized human”
Hill giants are the most human-like in appearance, albeit favoring broad features and bodies. Meanwhile, fire giants sport red skin and vibrant hair that makes them seem to have flaming scalps and and/or beards at first glance. Meanwhile, stone giants tend to be lean with stony skin and irregularly or angular craniums that make their bald forms seem to be made of unworked stone. Slag giants, on the other hand, as hybrids of fire and stone giants, tend to have rust-colored skin and sturdy yet lean frames.
While fully capable of wearing modern armors and clothing sized for them, those living a civilian’s life on their claimed homeworld of Pholskar tend to wear outfits that draw upon the heritage of their ancestors, but with modern upgrades. A hill giant may still wear furs, but they are expertly tailored and symmetrical with under layers of modern fabrics, while the brass accents of a fire giant’s kilt hide modern alloys as well.
Giant society as a whole varies by various species, but all are defined by their love of their history and their pride. However, when you are most well-known for your strength, it becomes a mighty temptation for even the most supposedly civilized giants to not use their might, be it physical or political, to get one’s way, especially as evidenced by the Cloud Imperium, one of the major ruling bodies of Pholskar. That being said, there are plenty that see the tyranny of their kin and reject it, choosing to use their strength for the good of others, giant and otherwise, but change comes slow to these beings.
Giants are strong and tough, but their size makes them a bit ungainly.
They do, however, has a instinctive knack for picking up heavy objects and turning them into impromptu projectiles, which only grow in lethality as they master themselves.
They also possess a knack for both building things, as well as looming over others intimidatingly.
Where things get really interesting is the abilities granted by different subspecies. Fire giants are naturally resistant to flame and train with armor to move in it easier, while hill giants have a long tradition of wrestling and throwing their weight around that they put to good use. Slag giants are also resistant to flame, but their history as crafters gives them a knack for recognizing and exploiting the stress points of objects. Finally, stone giants have even better night sight, and their thrown objects hit just a bit harder.
Their strength and toughness makes giants an easy pick for pretty much any melee or tanking class, from melee soldiers, evolutionists, nanocytes, vanguards, and even melee solarions. Meanwhile, social and casting classes tend to be fairly neutral for them, though biohackers, mechanics and technomancers have their roles with their love of crafting, while mystic and witchwarper have their connections to the traditions of giant-kind. Their biggest weakness is the penalty to dexterity and size making most types of operatives, as well as most ranged builds somewhat difficult, but it’s not impossible to get around, especially when the heavyweight skirmisher gives you an option to play a strength-based operative anyway.
And that’s that. Giants are a fascinating addition to the playable options, and obviously the list of types of playable giants has been pared down a bit to save space, but there are plenty of Large-sized giants out there to adapt and play as, such as frost giants, though Huge and larger are still probably out of the picture due to the difficulties and power that they grant.

My Top 5 (End of 2023)
Hi yall! Sorry for how long it’s been. Thanksgiving left me exhausted, and then all of a sudden I was coming back to college for finals weeks. I almost finished this a week ago, but then I just forget to add the last section. Anyway, as the end of the year approaches and seasonal parks close their doors, I figure this is an appropriate time to share my current top 5 coasters. So far, I’ve visited 3 major theme parks in the US as of recently: Six Flags Great Adventure, Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens Williamsburg. I’ve also visited Disney World and Universal Orlando, but those were back when I was 11 or so, and so I hardly remember any rides I might’ve gone on. So while this will change over the years, and I’ll eventually have enough credits to where I can start listing my top 10, 15 and even 20, here be my current top 5 :>
For context, I base my rankings off of two factors:
1. How much I want to re-ride it right now.
2. How long I’m laughing after I’ve gotten off. If I’m still chuckling by the time I’m back at the entrance, it’s a winner.
5. Kingda Ka, Six Flags Great Adventure
Tumblr media
It won’t shock you to know that Kingda Ka was, at one point, the scariest coaster I’ve ever been on. How long did it hold that title? Like 2 hours until I rode it for a second time, after which I knew for a fact my coaster fear was all but buried. Despite that, I’m pretty certain that no matter how often I ride it in the future, sitting on the launch track will still give me butterflies in my stomach.
But god, that launch is unlike anything I’ve ever felt. Hell, for like 2 weeks after my second Great Adventure visit this past summer, I scoured Youtube for a pov/off-ride video that would hit the exact same mark as actually riding Kingda Ka. I never found one that got even close :(. I also never got to ride OG Top Thrill Dragster or any other Intamin hydraulic launch coaster (Storm Runner looks so good…), but god you mean to tell me there’s multiple of these??? Even though I’ve ridden longer rides, as well as ones that I wish I could ride right now even more, that does NOT mean Kingda Ka does not deserve love. All my homies love Kingda Ka.
4. Nitro, Six Flags Great Adventure
Tumblr media
Nitro was my first ever B&M (Bolliger and Mabillard) hyper coaster (ride that exceeds 200 feet). And although the only other one I’ve ridden is Apollo’s Chariot, I do NOT understand why thoosies say this thing is mid. Sure the paint scheme is on the uglier side, but that makes it unique. And like, this thing isn’t the ugliest thing in the world. I don’t even know how you could make a coaster ugly.
This thing is floater airtime and speed galore. Next time I’m at Great Adventure, I’m trying out both front and back row to see how it lives up. I always put my hands up on Nitro cuz like, why wouldn’t you? Only part that’s a sharp change is the helix as the trains return to the station. That thing is fast and tight: I grey out every time I go through it. Not saying it’s bad at all, just a wild element lol.
3. Pantheon, Busch Gardens Williamsburg
Tumblr media
Pantheon is my first ever ride to feature a vertical spike. And oh my GOD did it have me laughing like a mad lass. This thing is such a treat from start to finish. I have a whole other story to share about this coaster and waiting in queue, but that’s for another time.
What Pantheon does super well is consistency between its elements. From the first launch to missing the top hat to the spike to the hangtime, this thing does NOT quit (until the brake run of course). Some people say this is a mix between Maverick and Velocicoaster, and from the pov’s I’ve watched, I can see where they’re coming from. I’m planning on riding Maverick next summer, and I don’t know when I’ll be able to go to Islands of Adventure. But until then, Pantheon my beloved.
2. Intimidator 305, Kings Dominion
Tumblr media
I love you I-305. I love you so damn much. This monstrosity was my first ever giga coaster (ride that exceeds 300 feet), and oh my GOD is it heavenly. I need to make it clear that this thing is not for the faint of heart. It is fast, whippy and unrelenting. But in a loving way :D.
I don’t think I’ll ever be able to not grey out on the right back after the drop. But lemme tell ya, greying out is awesome. I understand why some people dislike it and tend to avoid re-riding anything that does it to em. But me? I love the feeling. If anything I wanna immediately re-ride it if I feel my vision going. I’m weird and gay like that. Some people also say that this is the anti-Millennium Force: while Millennium does airtime galore, I-305 does speed and lateral’s galore. I’ll be the judge of that when I hopefully go to Cedar Point soonish, but for now, Intimidator 305 sits comfortably in my number 2.
1. El Toro, Six Flags Great Adventure
Tumblr media
You knew this was coming. El Toro was my first wooden coaster, my first non-family coaster, my first big Intamin, my first blog here and it’s in my pfp \o/. I’m so glad that Six Flags has been genuinely caring for this monstrosity after all these years. Even with the recent incidents, they haven’t given up on it. And I’m so grateful for that, I can’t imagine Great Adventure without this.
There’s still many woodie’s that I need to ride. The Beast at Kings Island and The Voyage at Holiday World are both really high on my list. But as of right now I ain’t going out to Indiana just to ride a big woodie (and also Firebird, that looks sick). To be brutally honest, the only other woodie I’ve actually ridden as of today is The Grizzly at Kings Dominion. And it’s a solid woodie, don’t get me wrong. But it just ain’t the Bull.
Some people dislike El Toro for how rough it’s apparently become over the years. And while that’s understandable, I love a woodie that’s rough. It gives a bite to it, like it’s out of control. That’s what woodies specialize in over steel’s: they’re out of control. From this thing’s ejector airtime, to the speed, to the tight banks to the Rolling Thunder Hill, El Toro will never leave my heart. It’s no wonder I spent 30 bucks on a t-shirt and keychain on my most recent visit. I’m a capitalist slave to the Bull.

What are your thoughts on the cerebro podcast stance on Hank?
My immediate thoughts are that I would fight Connor Goldsmith in the street.
Nah, that's an exaggeration, but I certainly don't have a lot of nice thoughts.
The biggest problem I had was that, considering those podcasts are meant to be an exhaustive, deep dive into a character, the host outright saying, oh yeah, I'm just kinda not covering anything about him from 1974 to 1986 because he isn't in X-Men comics, strikes me as an immediate admission that you don't really care about the character, you care about pushing your thoughts on the character. I immediately discount your read as bad faith, in that you refuse to confront facts over your opinion, and this is something I find, like, really depressingly common about Hank?
Hank's time on the Avengers counts. Hank's time on the Defenders counts. Hank's time with the Secret Avengers, with the Inhumans, with S.W.OR.D, in Marvel Team-Up, in issues of Spider-Man, they all count. Those appearances did still happen, even if you choose not to read them because you like staying in the X-Men hemisphere of the Marvel Universe.
And I don't blame people for doing that, god knows there's enough X-Men to read, except for when they start simultaneously wanting everything to revolve around the latest mutant tragedy but also don't want the Avengers to come anywhere near their comics because they're cops (which, what the fuck ever).
I almost think it's some kind of resentment towards Hank, that he dared to cross over to other teams. How dare he be popular in other spheres. How dare he not bleed, sweat and cry for the X-Men ever minute of every day. How very well dare he. People call him a race traitor because he sided with the Avengers in Avengers vs X-Men and was neutral during Inhumans vs. X-Men, and I really do roll my eyes at that because if you actually bother to read those books, he's actually usually talking sense and trying to be a bridge between the two parties, but he's regarded as a giga-traitor because he wasn't sucking Cyclops or Storm's dicks constantly.
Like, it's an actual fact that Hank was trying to talk the Avengers out of taking down the Phoenix Five, because he trusted the people the Phoenix was inhabiting. It's an actual fact that if he had been allowed to go back to New Attilan and explain that the Terrigen Cloud was about to start an extinction level event, Medusa would have dispersed the Cloud and avoided the whole conflict. But knowing that requires reading AvX and IvX, and people don't wanna do that, and that's fine, but if you want to start bringing that shit up in a way that makes it clear you're talking about what you remember rather than what actually happened, you best come correct, because I operate based on panels, not based on fucking vibes.
And maybe that's an exaggeration, maybe that's just sour grapes towards a fandom that's been vilifying this character since the Utopia era, but I honestly don't think it's that off base, considering how extremely weird some X-Men fans can get about the Avengers and other teams.
"WHERE WERE THE AVENGERS WHEN GENOSHA WAS BURNING - " Bro, it ain't that deep, they were saving the world from Kang. Also, this level of surface level criticism towards comic book media (you see it all the time in MCU reviews, where people ask, why didn't Dr. Strange help during this movie or this scene) just kinda bores me, because you buy X-Men to see X-Men.
Would it really make you happier if an Avenger turned up every issue to say something devastating to an anti-mutant racist and turn to the camera and give a thumbs up? No, you'd complain that they're taking up valuable panel space that could be devoted to another character's development (rightfully so), and point out that if you wanted to see Avengers, you'd read Avengers (also rightfully so).
This is all preamble to another eye roll worthy moment about the Cerebrocast, and granted, it's one that the host has said was a joke, but the whole bit about Avengers being cops . . . like, yeah, I get it, it's a joke, but you forgot to be funny about it, and it also just exposes the ignorance and bias that also leads you to state that you can totally give a legitimately informed opinion on Hank McCoy without reading a twelve year stretch where he underwent a lot of character development.
Anyway, where was I - oh yeah, so the fandom. A lot of the fandom, and I really don't think Goldsmith is immune to this, likes to operate based on vibes when it comes to Hank. They read All-New X-Men, they read X-Force, and they think they know the character, and they just like to go off, even though forming an opinion on Hank McCoy based on those runs is like having an opinion on Cyclops based on just the 90s TV show. It's not exactly a complete understanding of the character, now, is it?
And guess what? You're more than entitled to have that opinion! I don't believe in gatekeeping! What I do believe in, is staying in your lane when your understanding of a subject is demonstrably incomplete. Talk less, listen more.
People like to act like the Cerebrocast is some kind of rubber stamp, like it came down with THE FACTS on Hank McCoy, just because Connor Goldsmith had a two minute rant about the Threnody situation locked and loaded and ready to go from moment one, and, like.
I'm really glad you're passionate about Threnody, bro, someone out there has to be, but - and I hate to be this guy, I really do, but when you want to say you know Beast, you invite it - I know more about Hank McCoy than you do.
Just 'cause you've got a podcast and I don't (not about X-Men, anyway) doesn't mean you're the authority. Thanks for helping to poison the well on this character I enjoy. I can now no longer post panels of Hank being cute on Reddit because there will be at least three people talking about Threnody or X-Force or the Cerebrocast, and that's just mentally exhausting.
TL:DR - I did not enjoy the Cerebrocast episode on Hank McCoy. You should also check out this post by most beloved @brw where they cover this from the same angle, but with some different points.
