“So Riot, how has your day been?” Riot laughed a bit as Oracle joined him on the edge of the building. “It’s been a f—ing blast, you know? Got some primes, met some women, f—ed up some heroes, and most importantly blew up a bomb.” He responded quickly. Oracle laughed a little.
“Oh wow, that sounds like an eventful day, hm?” He spoke, staring out at the sky with him. “What about you, man?” Riot returned.
“Visited their graves, patrolled the area. Glad it’s a slow day today, it’s pretty hard.”
Oracle had told him a few years back about his fiances. The two had been caught in the middle of a fight between PVP and Gambit, and that’s how Oracle was found as well, scarred from the flames he had tried to save his lovers from.
Today was the anniversary of their deaths.
“If it would make you feel better, I’d kind of like to meet the two who you tell me so much about.” Riot smiled softly from behind the mask. “Yeah. Yeah, we can do this. You know, I think Q would’ve liked to meet you.” Oracle smiled softly in return.
Riot smiled as he let Oracle lead the way, down toward the home they had been staying in. And outside, just underneath the tree, were two graves, marked with little stones.
The bodies hadn’t ever been found, burnt up in the flames.
Riot felt Oracle wrap an arm around him. “You know, you’re like a little brother to me.” He admitted, and Riot watched as he unclipped his mask, holding it in his hand. “Thank you.” Oracle finished. The teen smiled.
“Yeah, of course, big man, we kinda need to stick together. Us against the world.” Riot pulled off his mask. “They’d be proud of us.” Oracle smiled as he spoke.
“They really would be. I mean, we are so cool.” Riot spoke next.
“Come on, let’s go get changed and get some food.” Oracle offered.

“Gambit, we’ve gotten word from Cerberus, he’s said the coup is almost ready.” Nuclear spoke silently. “Perfect, the sooner Schlatt is overturned, the better. Any word of our little vigilante ‘friends’?” Gambit asked quickly.
“Riot’s starting to comply with Siren a little, I’d expect him to become a full-fledged hero in a few months, as long as the coup is successful.” Nuclear reported.
“And Oracle?” Gambit returned quickly. “Not complying. Won’t even fight the villains. For now, they can’t be too much of an issue as long as they just focus on the civilians.” Nuclear spoke next.
“Get them to comply, or we arrest them. Got it?” The avian spat. “You’ve seen their abilities, no jail could hold them.” The creepertaur returned with concern.
“You’ve seen how they act. I think they’ll be more than willing to comply.” Gambit finished. “Yes, sir.” Nuclear muttered as he turned to leave.

“So, Toms, I know that living with everyone else is a bit stressful so I figured it would be a good idea to get a break.” Karl smiled at the other, who sat opposite them. “Hey, it’s not that bad big man, I like hanging out with Tubbo and Boob Boy.” Tommy returned with a laugh.
The two laughed happily as they sat at the diner peacefully, waiting for their meals. The two shared jokes, smiling and laughing happily.
Beep beep beep-
“Q?! Sap?! Where are you?!”
He stood up quickly, head shooting around the room while trying to find the two figures.
The groceries he had bought earlier were left at the front door as he trekked through the flames. Karl’s hand covered his mouth as he rushed through the building. “Sap?! Q?! Say some-aH!” He shouted before getting knocked to the ground by a blast. “You couldn’t tell anyone, could you?! Well f— you! Care about someone except yourself for once!”
Why was Gambit here?! He coughed violently as he was hit by a falling piece of the ceiling above him. He was gasping for air now, even as the fire slowly crept up his arm. He felt helpless.
His eyes filled with tears as he tried to free himself, pain spiking by the second. Karl eventually fell limp as his eyes caught on something in front of him.
Quackity’s Beanie-
“Karl!” Tommy shouted, pulling him closer. “T-tommy?” He spoke, blinking rapidly.
“Kar, there you are. Are you okay? You kinda freaked out on me, big man.” The teen worried. “Sorry, I-I don’t know what happened…”
Tommy smiled sadly. “Let’s get back home, alright? I’m sure Eret’ll help you out.”
- - -
“So what happened?” Eret asked as the borrowers tucked Karl into bed for the night. “Right, Karl kind of just blanked out. Like all color in his eyes just drained and he stopped responding after some beeping.”
Eret paused. “I’ll see if I can look back on the situation, go hang out with Tubbo for now, okay?” They smiled, before waving away Tommy and turning away.
“Big man!” He laughed, hearing Tubbo’s voice, jumping up onto the table as he shrunk down to normal height. “So, is everything good?” He asked Tommy who sat down next to Tubbo. “Not really, something strange happened to Karl, and now I think XD’s trying to hunt me down.” Tommy admitted.
Tubbo blinked. “Really?! Does anyone know about XD?!” “Couldn’t bother with Karl today, it’s the anniversary.”
“Tommy, look, if XD catches you, we’ll be so doomed. Everyone else is cool or whatever, right, but you and Karl are the two who cover our a–es the most. Purpled and Aimsey are close though.”
“D— right we are,” Purpled smirked, joining the conversation. “What’s going on?”
“XD’s hunting down Tommy.” Tubbo repeated. “Well, s—.” Escaped Purpled.
“Hey, I’m not that important-” “Tommy, you create explosions from your hands. Tubbo’s a bee. Jack can see through walls. You are one of the few who have useful abilities!” Purpled explained.
“You’re going to be grounded if you keep this talk up.” Ranboo spoke up, arms folded as they leaned against the wall. “You-you can’t just ground me boob boy-”
“I think that’s a good idea honestly, it’ll keep him out of XD’s watch.” Tubbo admitted.
“Great, glad we came to this consensus. Tommy, you’re grounded.” Purpled finished. “What?!”
“You heard me! No patrols!” Purpled informed. “F— you!”

Karl took a deep breath, adjusting his mask tightly to his face. This was the biggest fight he’d been in.
From his perch on the building, he watched as Cerberus’s wings gave his position in the sky, locked in a fierce battle with Egg. The demon hybrid was fairly powerful, but so was Cerberus.
Time to put on his Oracle persona.
Ha, time.
He mentally slapped himself, now was not the time for puns. He hopped onto the next building, running towards the fire exit. Throwing his body down onto the metal surface to avoid an attack by Egg, he slid down the ladder towards the ground.
He caught himself on the bottom rung, hopping off. Guess he needed to do the thing he was supposed to.
Running towards all of the rubble, he pressed his hands onto the mess as he ran by, moving them back to their original places. This is why so many people thought he had a powerful levitation power.
He ran through the scene, wary of exposing his scar. Things began moving further and went almost everywhere open for Oracle to run through. But he was prepared. Slipping seamlessly through the flying rubble as he took his stand to the side, watching for any victims caught up in the mess.
“Oracle.” The vigilante jumped toward the voice as quickly as he could, hands outstretched.
“The heroes have been looking for you, it's pretty hard to track you down with just a bit of your neck. It was so much easier to hunt down Riot with his prosthetic.” Oracle frowned under his mask, readjusting his collar as Gambit held eye contact. “What do you want with me?”
“Well, I’ve got a few ideas. First, the heroes are planning something and it would be nice to have a levitation user of your strength to help us out. Secondly, you’re an illegal vigilante. Meaning you either help me or get arrested.” Gambit spoke out. “And why would I do that? You and I know I don’t take sides. I’m only doing this for the possible victims. Not for anyone else.” Oracle informed.
“Yes, well, you’d be okay with that if you didn’t use your levitation as well. And that’s a break in the code-” “You didn’t care about the rules until a few years ago, so what the honk happened-” Oracle was cut off as Gambit shoved a hand to his throat.
“Keep that word out of your g–d— vocabulary. You, filthy scum, can never say that again. You aren’t worthy of that word.” The hero spat as the vigilante struggled a bit more. “What, honk-”
Gambit in turn shoved him into a wall, hand still in the death grip around his neck. “Don’t. You. Dare-”
Gambit’s mouth seemed to move in reverse as he backed up, letting go of his neck and returning to the beginning.
“Oracle.” “Hey Gambit.” He spat, standing his vigil, overlooking the chaos of the fight in the skies. Egg was not winning this.
“The heroes have been looking for you, it’s pretty-” “Hard to track me down with just a bit of my neck exposed. I’ve heard that a lot.” Oracle finished. The hero seemed to pause for a moment. “And let me guess, you want me to help you?”
“I-yeah. Two options in this situation-” “Help you or be taken captive. It’s not my first rodeo. And no, I won’t help you or be arrested.” Oracle continued to interrupt as he heard shuffling behind him.
“What, do you want to fight me then? Because now you will.” The hero spoke. “I don’t like breaking my moral code, but I’ll make an exception. I win the fight and you do what I want you to. You win, and you get to go free.” The winged hero bargained.
“Only if there will be no onlookers. No one must be getting caught in the fight.” The vigilante demanded. “This part of the city is evacuated, so you won’t have to worry about another person breaking their moral code.” Gambit hissed out.
Oracle slid to the left, avoiding a right hook from behind. “That was sad.” He turned around, moving quickly around the hero.
Gambit growled, wings spreading– “Karl, you are cracked, how do you preen so well?!” –as he took to the sky, opting for the high ground. Oracle frowned, avoiding a blast of water from Cerberus while also sliding under a shade canopy to run into the building.
Gambit seemed to understand his ideas as the hero swooped down under with him, throwing daggers at the door handle that Oracle had tried reaching for. He hissed, glaring at the hero before disappearing.
Oracle turned around, moving quickly around the hero before pocketing his deck of cards-
Reappearing again he was met with, “What the f—?!” Gambit started, throwing more daggers. “You have backup! Queen is here too, aren’t they?! You cheater.” Oracle just shrugged. Gambit growled, reaching down to grab his pack of cards, only to find them missing.
“What, you missing these?” Oracle held up Gambit’s deck enough so the hero could see, a smile hiding behind the mask. “You b—-.” The hero gritted his teeth, upset at the current situation. “You know you can’t use those.”
“Yeah, I know. But you can’t now either.” Oracle spoke smugly, proud of the situation. “I always have a couple of spares.” Gambit returned, throwing out a ten of spades–the same card that blew up his home–
Oracle was thrown into the air and sent tumbling to the ground. His mask had been shattered on the ground, exposing his face. Pain flared down his arm as the cloak that covered the aforementioned arm seared into his skin. Phantom pains racked his body, forcing him still as his attacker approached him.
He whimpered, forcing his leg to move despite the pure agony his body was experiencing a second time. Blood covered the left side of his face–he didn’t realize he could still bleed from the scar–as tears streamed down and mixed with the red liquid pouring from himself. Not a desirable situation at all.
“I don’t like using that card but now look at what you made me do.” Gambit angrily shot out, standing in front of him. Oracle could barely move his head, but as he did, he and Gambit held a few seconds of eye contact.
That eye contact was enough to throw Gambit off, a devastated look flashing over his features as tears crept out from his eyes.
Without wasting another second, he vanished-
Queen realized something was up when Oracle didn’t respond, so when they heard about the fight between him and Gambit in the city square, they teleported. Everything seemed almost frozen in time before the enderman hybrid wrapped their arms around their friend, teleporting the two back home-
“Karl! What happened-oh g–, someone get Aimsey and Eret, please!” Ranboo shouted into the walls of the seemingly empty house. Mere seconds passed as Karl’s vision began to blur, blood pooling across the room he was left in before two thumps were heard, and Aimsey began to inspect him.
“M’ssed ‘p. G’mbit sa’ m’.” He slurred as Eret ran their hands down Karl’s face, cleaning off the blood with a rag. “It’s okay, let’s just figure this out after. Stay awake, okay?” Eret spoke loudly, placing a cold rag on Karl’s head.
There was a lot of pain running through his body, and yet somehow, he felt like sleeping.
- - -
Gambit sat at his desk with his face buried in his hands. “F—, that couldn’t have been real, f—.” He muttered, thinking back to the fight. That couldn’t have been him. He’d been dead for years. No, Oracle had to be a strong psychic. So not just levitation, but mind manipulation and teleporting. “Nuclear!” Gambit shouted, anger present in his tone.
In only a few seconds, the creepertaur was running into his office. “Yes, Gambit?” “Find Oracle. Arrest them. Do whatever you need to do, but I want them in f—ing jail NOW!” He shouted, slamming his fist angrily against the top of the desk.
“I-im sorry, but we don't have any information on them-” Nuclear tried to say before getting interrupted. “I’m working on that. Now go!” Gambit hissed.
No one would impersonate his deceased fiance on his watch.
- - -
“F0x, nice to see you.” Gambit sat in his office seat, staring at the newcomer. “Didn't know you’d stoop so low, with me being a vigilante and all.” The fox hybrid smirked.
“This is only to help with another case. If I had my way, I'd throw you straight in jail. But I need your help. I need you to look into someone.” Gambit informed, pushing a case towards the now sitting vigilante.
“Case file on…” F0x began before flipping through the pages. “Karl Jacobs. You do realize he's marked as dead, right?” “Oh, trust me, I know. Now just do it.” The hero hissed. Maybe he was a cat hybrid with the amount of hissing he was doing.
F0x nodded, pulling out a tablet and tapping it many times. A few minutes passed before, “Okay, got it.” The hybrid cheered. “Anything new?”
“Bank statements, deposits, withdrawals, a lot of things. Payments on a house too. I can find many examples of those dated within two weeks.” The vigilante spoke, running through the list. “Oh, and one about two days ago at Halo’s. You know, the burger shop on the outskirts of Essempi.”
“So identity theft.” The hero glared at his desk. Someone stole the identity of Karl, and he was not letting that slide. “I'll give you ten seconds to get out of my sight, F0x, before I have you thrown in jail.”
The vigilante wasted no time immediately getting up and running out.
- - -
Karl groaned as his body ached. He wasn't in the best shape but still needed to get up and run his-
“Karl, what the h— do you think you are doing out here right now?” Eret spoke, looking up from their newspaper to stare at him. He would admit it was a bit strange for the blind woman to make eye contact, but due to Eret’s power–Foresight–he could see anything. “Patrols.”
“Purpled is taking your patrols. Go back to the room, you're on bed rest.” “But-”
“Go on.” Karl gave up, sighing and dropping his shoulders before turning and limping back into the room he just exited. “I’ll be in in a little to change your bandages and fix anything else.” Eret finished.
He would admit, it felt nice to be cared for for once.
- - -
“PVP.” Gambit began, staring at the villain. “Gambit.” The fireborn returned with a glare.
“It was fairly easy to find you.” The hero spoke. “What do you want?” The villain returned.
“Someone stole Karl’s identity. And I figured you'd want revenge on them too, so I wanted to bring you along.” The two never broke eye contact. “Besides, I’d never side with a murderer under normal-” “Oh don't you f—ing DARE try any pull this again. You are as much at fault as I am, you a–hole. Not just me. So get your f—ing head out of your a– and see that.” PVP angrily retorted.
“Shut the f— up, everyone knows it's your fault.” “That's because you're the hero and I'm the villain. The whole world believes you couldn't do anything wrong. The only reason I'm even talking to you right now is because someone's impersonated Karl, otherwise I wouldn't put up with your pathetic a–!”
Gambit glared at PVP. “Let's just figure this out already. I still have things to deal with at the tower.”
- - -
“Toms!” Tommy let out an ‘oof’ as the taller man barreled into him. “Where have you been? We missed you!” Wilbur hurried, looking over the boy.
“Sorry, I got grounded.” He admitted. “They couldn't keep me inside though, because I'm such a big man.”
“Why were you grounded, sunshine? I'm sure we'd love to help you with anything.” The taller whispered, pulling him into a hug. “Inside matter.” He whispered into the man's ear.
Wilbur’s breath caught in his throat for a moment. “Come on, Phil's made some pie, I'm sure he'd love to have you try it.” The taller smiled, carrying the boy inside. “Alright, should I get the other two?” “Yeah, it'll affect everything.”
Wilbur nodded, setting Tommy on the couch before running through the house.
The blond looked around, finding the remote and messing with the back of it for a bit before Wilbur came back with Phil and Techno in tow.
“Theseus, what's going on?” Techno started, sitting at his side. Wilbur took to his other side not long after that, smiling at the boy. “I found one of your moles. XD’s been hunting me down.”
- - -
Eret immediately dropped their newspaper to the sound of heavy knocking at the door. With Karl immobile and back at his natural height for the first time in a long while, it was her job to run the house.
He stood up, walked over to the door, and opened it slightly. “Essempi Police, my name is Deputy Chill, may we come in to search your home, please?”
“Do you have a warrant? And a probable cause?” Eret responded quickly. “Yes, we have both.”
“Alright, let me see the warrant.” They opened the door fully, holding out a hand. He was given a paper and scanned it over.
“W-wait, this was issued by-”
“Me. Nice to meet you, Eret Beloved.” Gambit spoke, making eye contact with her. “We have reason to believe that you are harboring vigilantes and a criminal accused of identity theft.”
“I can assure you neither of that is true-” “We know about Riot and Oracle. Now stand aside, Mx. Beloved.” Gambit returned immediately as he interrupted Eret, forcing his way in. “Tell me if you find something.” The hero waved off the officers, who spread out around the house.
“There's no identity theft here, I promise.” Eret defended. “Yeah? Well, Karl Jacobs has been dead for years.”
“No he hasn't-” “And how do you know? Because you see the person who stole his identity all the time?”
“No, because I pulled him out of the burning-” “Found something!” One of the officers shouted, holding out a wallet.
Gambit strode over, taking the wallet and looking over the contents. “How does he have an ID issued last year? Handicapped as well. Bank cards under his name. What the f—?”
“Gambit, sir, we found him.” The hero looked up from the wallet, pocketing it as he turned into Karl’s room. “Wait-” Eret tried, but was immediately ignored.
Gambit stepped into the room, finding a figure smaller than the size of a doll staring up at him–a borrower like Karl. The hero immediately glared at them. “Oracle, you are under arrest for vigilantism and identity theft.” “Wha-”
Gambit reached down onto the bed, grabbing them tightly. “You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be used against you.” The vigilante struggled under his grip as he moved.
- - -
“XD, what are you doing here?” Siren spoke, staring at the person standing next to him. “Tracking Riot.” The addressed hero spoke.
“So you’re tracking a kid? Why?” Siren prodded. “He’s an illegal vigilante.” That was all XD spoke.
“He’s a disabled child. And I’ve seen the reports. You don’t have instructions to hunt him down either. So this is just your sick and twisted game. Why?” Siren scolded. “He’s dangerous.”
“To you. XD, you are under arrest-” The ex-hero glared at Siren through his mask before vanishing into the ground. He’d have to report the changes to the higher-ups now, the hero thought as he groaned.
- - -
“-his f—ing DNA! I-This can’t be him! I refuse to believe it-” “Quackity shut the f— up. The DNA proves it, and the IDs and bank cards prove it. His face is proof! What more do you f—ing need?!”
Karl blinked, slowly waking up. His limbs hurt, his head hurt. He shuffled a bit as he tried to sit up. “A f—ing lot! Oracle’s a f—ing psychic! He knows what he’s doing! You know he died!”
The voices were too loud, he thought to himself as he slid further away, vision slowly fixing itself.
“No one found the body! You found the earring. Besides! He’s got power disabling cuffs on right now, don’t you think if it were true that Oracle manipulated our minds that it would stop?!”
He looked up, staring around himself. Was he in a f—ing birdcage?! Not cool. His body still ached from the battle with Gambit, and if he looked at where he originally lay, he could see blood. Great, he was bleeding again.
“Shut up. You don’t know what I saw.” “Then tell me!”
Oracle cringed as he ripped up his clothing a bit, untying his old bandages to replace them with the pieces of cloth. “Great, you f—ing woke him!” “Oh, you f—er.”
His cage rattled, shaking his body. He dropped the last piece of cloth as he made eye contact with PVP–He watched in agony as Quackity’s beanie burnt with his body before his eyes looked around again and caught the gaze of PVP before black spots littered his vision and he fell unconscious–who glared down at him–wait, he was glaring, why is PVP crying?!
“Hang on little guy.” The villain spoke softly, carefully opening the door. His body seized up as PVP scooped him up in his warm hands. “Gambit, go get a medic, he’s bleeding.” The villain spoke, gently pulling his hand–and Karl–out of the cage.
“You can relax, you know, I’m not going to hurt you.” PVP spoke as he sat down. “Okay, Lemon’s on his way-why did you pull him out.” Gambit growled.
“You shoved the poor guy in a birdcage. If we are going to interrogate him we may as well make him feel comfortable.” PVP spoke with a straight face. “He’s-he’s a criminal!” Gambit returned.
“Shut the f— up and start asking questions.”
Gambit sighed and eventually sat in the seat opposite PVP. “Alright then, fine. What's your name.”
“Karl Jacobs.” “No, it's f—ing not-”
“Gambit, shut up. The lab results said the same thing.” “Well, I don't trust it. How about I do the talking.” The hero hissed. Karl pulled his legs closer to his body as a way to make himself seem even smaller within the hand of the villain but fell onto his side instead.
“Oh, sorry little guy. Let me help you.” PVP whispered, carefully pushing him back up into a sitting position with his finger. “So, if you are Karl then how would you react to this?” Gambit hissed.
Karl brought his attention to Gambit, but the moment he saw his face, his body began to tremble.
Quackity.

“Well, good news and bad news, XD’s no longer tracking you, Toms!” Wilbur announced happily, walking over to the table where a miniature Tommy stood, carefully scooping the smaller into his hands. “Okay, and what's the bad news?” The borrower asked.
“He kinda just disappeared into the ground…” Wilbur spoke disappointedly. “What-”
“Don't worry Toms, I'll keep you safe in my pocket!” The man smiled, sliding Tommy into his chest pocket. “Look! Pocket brother!” The larger smiled. “Wait, did you just-”
“You're my brother now, all mine.” The hero smirked. Tommy would've returned with a thought, but instead, he felt a buzzing in his pocket. “Hang on Wil, I have a call,” Tommy spoke, pulling out the device. “Oh f—, Eret's calling. Hello?”
“Tommy, where are you?”
“Uh…near the hero building, why?” He was definitely in the hero building right now, Siren brought him there.
“Gambit just arrested Oracle, we need your help. He should just be in the building.”
“Wait-Oracle, the one who managed to evade the public eye even when he was out saving civilians…has now been arrested by Gambit?! What the f—?!”
“Gambit and Oracle got into a fight where Oracle's mask was broken, and somehow with just that, he knew just who Oracle was.”
“I guess I’ll see what I can do…thanks Eret.”
Tommy hung up, staring up at the hero who was trying–and failing–to hide the fact that he was curious.
“Oracle’s been arrested…”
- - -
Put back inside the birdcage, Karl cried to himself with his hands covering his face. This whole situation was terrible. Gambit was treating Karl like he was a terrorist, PVP–who’s a villain–was treating him with so much care that it made him wish to see his fiances again, and to top it off Gambit looked just like Quackity.
Lovely.
He cried to himself, alone like usual. “Hey, Oracle?” The borrower looked up, making eye contact with PVP from across the room. “I don’t agree with how Gambit’s been treating you but I can’t prove your innocence. Is there anyone who we can talk to who’ll be able to prove that you are? Innocent, I mean.”
“If anyone would be able to, ask Eret Beloved. They’ll be able to tell you everything.” The borrower admitted. “Eret Beloved…alright, I’ll tell Gambit that… I-I’m sorry that you had to go through all that.” PVP smiled.
“It’s alright.” Oracle returned. “If you don’t mind me asking, why did you react like you did?” Karl’s eyes widened as-as-
As he placed the stones under a tree near his new house. “Karl, what are you doing out here?” He watched as Eret approached him. His bandaged half ached to sit down, pain flaring with every movement. “Making their graves.”
“Who’s?” “My fiances. They died in the fire. The government may not even realize they’ve died. And yes, I’ve sent in death reports.” He spoke, fingers twitching painfully.
“Oh Karl…” Eret spoke softly, treading carefully over the situation. “They didn’t even find the bodies-” Karl muttered before breaking into tears, wrapping his free arm around Eret, grasping for comfort. “I see their faces everywhere-I hate them, I hate them all-”
The blind man carefully shushed Karl, pulling the injured man into a hug–extra careful with his burned half–as they provided comfort. “I know, it’s hard. Let’s get you sat down, and I could make you some hot cho-” “Nothing hot, please-”
“Okay, that’s fine! I’ll make you some cold tea, okay?” They corrected, running a hand through the remains of the fluffy hair. “Let’s head inside, alright?”
“Karl, hey you back with me?” He blinked back into reality, finding himself sitting on PVP’s hand. “So-sorry…”
“It’s okay. Would you be willing to tell me or-” “Eret will.” The vigilante commented quickly.
“Okay. That’s okay. Do you want to hang out with me before Gambit and I go talk with Eret?”
“Sure.” He whispered, pulling his legs into himself, struggling to drape his cuffed arms over his limbs.
“Alright. Hang on, okay?” For being a villain, PVP was quite nice.
But he still hated the man. And Gambit.
Okay maybe not totally, but he still held a bit of a grudge.
“I’m not allowed to go around without a chaperone, so I need to wait for someone to come get me,” PVP informed, pressing a button with his free hand. The villain–almost like he had practice–moved Karl around a bit to feel out his scar. “How did you get these?”
“It’s one scar, a long one.” “Oh…sorry.” The villain apologized.
“It’s fine. It came from a fire. Eret’ll tell you. I don’t think I’m able to talk about it yet.” “I get that.”
PVP was so gentle and so kind when caring for him, he didn’t understand why. It made no sense, this was such a stark difference from the villain who murdered his fiances and nearly killed him.
Karl didn’t like it, but he liked the care. It reminded him of the care Sapnap gave him.
“Here we go.” The villain whispered enough for him to hear as the door opened. “Daisy, how are you?” He asked, standing up slowly. “I’m fairly well, thank you for asking. Are you allowed to bring Oracle out?”
“Not really, but the poor guy has been having breakdowns the entire time so I figured some time outside of the cell and questioning would help him.” “Aw, poor little guy.” The cold skin of the heroine’s finger pulled him back to reality as she patted his head.
“Gambit won’t shut up about how Oracle’s just so wrong.” “Oh yeah, I know. I’ve got to tell him that we’ve got more proof of Oracle’s innocence.” Karl watched from his perch in the villain’s familiarly calloused hands as the two began to walk. The hallways were fairly large, and standing a silent watch over their room was Nuclear. A smart choice of guard from what Karl knew of the hero.
Daisy took them through a single lap around the floor, the fish hybrid talking about different parts of the place–it was the hero tower’s interrogation floor, where two others were being investigated by Rose and Tulip–and eventually were brought back to their room.
PVP smiled softly as he approached the cage. “Sorry, I need to put you back in now. I have to talk to Gambit and he’d throw a fit if he knew I took you out-”
The villain was interrupted as an explosion rocked the building. Karl was slid quickly into the cage as PVP stood away. When the dust cleared, he stared at the masked faces of Riot, Bee, and Queen.
“Break in, room 3-7.” Daisy shouted into her comm. PVP’s hands lit into flames, preparing for a fight. Queen appeared to the side of the cage with Bee, who immediately busted the cage open before the two were forced to retreat by PVP, who threw fire at them.
“I didn’t know the heroes would even think of getting help from villains.” Riot smirked. Karl stood at the new opening in the cage, thinking his options out. He took a breath, banging the cuffs against the exposed shards of metal, breaking them open.
He jumped out of the cage, using the fight as a way to hide his escape. Before reaching the ground he grew to human height, just as PVP spotted him. “Oracle…hey, let’s talk this out, okay?” Turning to the villain who was covered by Daisy, who threw blasts of water at the vigilante trio.
PVP’s face morphed into devastation as the two held eye contact. He thought through the options. Stay and get picked apart by Gambit, or go with the three and hang out at the safe house for a bit.
The villain reached for his hand before Karl pulled back, stepping back towards the vigilantes. “Karl, wait.” Oracle froze, staring at PVP. That voice-
“Okay, time to go!” Queen shouted from behind him, grabbing his shoulder. “Wait-” Soon enough, the world fizzed around him and Karl felt the familiar buzzing. Queen had teleported him.
The group appeared in the safe house moments later. “No-no f—!” He shouted, pulling away from the three. “Karl! Are you okay? What did they do to you?!” Tommy asked as he dropped his mask.
He paced back and forth, trying to make sense of the situation.
“Gambit was there, he looked like Quackity, PVP sounded like f—ing Sapnap, I want it to stop-” Tommy ran up and hugged the man. “It’s okay, you’re not there anymore, it’s just fine. Stay here and lay low, they won’t find you again. Aimsey’ll be here in a bit, promise.” Tommy spoke, hugging Karl tightly.
“Thanks, Toms.” He smiled, eventually letting the teen go.

“Queen kidnapped Oracle. I promise no communication escaped this tower. Someone must’ve known from the outside.” PVP reported as he sat with Daisy in Gambit’s office.
“Look, PVP, you aren’t taking this as seriously as you should. Oracle stole Karl’s identity-” “Gambit, the IDs, DNA tests, the fact that Oracle’s a borrower, and bank cards say the same thing. That has to be him-”
“Unless I have a witness’s testimony I won’t believe anything.” Gambit spoke stubbornly. “Oracle mentioned a witness. Eret Beloved?” PVP spoke with a hopeful tone.
Gambit took a deep breath, trying his hardest to stay calm. “Fine. We’ll talk to Eret. Let’s go. Daisy, you are dismissed.”
- - -
“Alright Eret Beloved, tell us how you met Karl. The whole story.” Gambit began as PVP’s hand snuck its way into Gambit’s grasp. “Karl? Well, it started when my Foresight started showing me visions of someone I didn’t know. So the more I looked into them, the more clearly it showed how I would meet him.” They began.
Gambit began writing things down. “And what’s your foresight? For reference?” “It’s my power, it lets me see the future. I can’t turn it off so I always have visions.” Eret informed.
“I see. Continue.” Gambit spoke as he wrote things down.
“Right. A few years ago I was walking down the sidewalk when I saw smoke, just like one of the visions. So I ran towards it and was met with a burning house. I went to the side and peeked through a window and saw the same person I’d been seeing in the visions, so I jumped into the place and pulled him from the rubble.” They spoke.
“Do you know the day?” Gambit asked.
“January 12th. But I’m sure you know when it was too, seeing as he told me you two were there.” Eret spoke as they glared at the hero.
Gambit glared at the woman in front of him. “Enough sass, just continue with the story.”
“I pulled him out of the house and took him to my place to see if the healer there could do something. They were able to do a little, but it wasn’t enough so I took him to the hospital.” Eret continued.
“Okay, and were his emergency contacts called?” PVP asked hopefully. “No. Karl lost his family at a young age.” They answered quickly.
“Was there anyone else on the emergency list? Like fiances or anything?” PVP asked. “Nope. No one else.”
“Karl hadn’t added us to the list because it was only for immediate family, you f—ing moron.” Gambit whispered into the villain’s ear. “Shut the f— up.”
“How did you pay for the hospital fees?” Gambit asked. “Due to the nature of the people in the house, I knew to set up an emergency fund, just in case.” They responded.
“Alright, thank you, Eret.” PVP smiled softly. “Please continue.”
“D—, Karl was right, you are the nicer one. As I was saying, we went to the hospital. Karl was unconscious for a few days, but when he woke up it was a mess. First off, no police came in to question, no one gave us a paper to sign for an incident report to go on your records. I mean, how f—ed is this system? With each fight between heroes and villains, almost hundreds of people are admitted into the hospital and aren’t allowed to say anything against the people who hurt them so badly.”
Eret sighed, taking a deep breath. “Sorry, that was a bit of a rant. The hero system is f—ed for the victims.”
Gambit took a few notes on his paper again.
“When Karl woke up, I asked him what happened. It took so long to get it out of him because it was so fresh, but I got the whole story. He had seen his house on fire and thought his two fiances were still inside. And then he saw you two so he dropped his groceries immediately and ran inside. He couldn’t find them and eventually got trapped under rubble. That’s where he not only saw just how cruel you were, PVP, but where he also found one of his fiance's beanies.”
Gambit stiffened while PVP’s hand held tightly onto Gambit’s. PVP’s other hand flew up to his mouth as tears threatened to fall from his eyes.
“Karl figured they were dead because Quackity–the one who owned the beanie–never left without it. He hated you two from the moment he woke up, and let his tragic story lead him into his life of vigilantism. He promised that no one would suffer like how his fiances did. I gave Karl a home to stay at where he offered to help with payments and such. He got his scars–which he hates–and the doctor tells us that they probably won’t ever fade and that we were lucky to take him straight to a healer or else he’d have been unable to do anything like talk or walk or such.”
“And were death reports ever filed?” Gambit asked as he held his emotions inside. “Multiple. The government never looked into it. Karl never got closure, even if he was stuck on bedrest while mourning. We have never heard a word about the situation since then.” PVP was having a hard time with the information, bursting into hushed sobs. Gambit knew they wouldn’t be able to handle this much longer–he was not going to cry about this later.
“What hurts the most about this is that one of my visions shows him reuniting with his fiances, but they are dead. I can’t hold onto this pain anymore but I can’t tell him.”
“Thank you, Eret. You are dismissed.” The man nodded, standing up and exiting the room. “Gambit,” PVP choked out, “I-I don’t want to be a villain a-anymore.”
“I know-” The two embraced, holding each other tightly as if in the next moment the two would be stripped from each other. “He-he was alive the whole time-oh g–, Q, this is f—ed-”
“It is Sap, it is. We need to fix this.” Quackity whispered as he slowly calmed himself down. He knew Sapnap was a bit more emotional than he was.

Karl sat alone in the alley next to the coffee shop he just come from, sipping at his drink. His back laid against the wall–his head followed suit as he stared into the blue sky, the same sky that had taunted him since that day–as his arms lay on his knees.
“Mind if I join you?” Someone asked from the entrance of the alley. “Yeah, sure, whatever.” He returned, adjusting himself so his scarred arm lay against the concrete–it had started to feel too hot on that side–and his other hand held the cup loosely.
“What are you doing sitting back here, don’t you want to sit up front?” They asked. “No, I think I’d prefer sparing everyone from seeing this monstrosity.” He returned as he heard the newcomer sit down next to him.
“Why do you say that?” They asked sincerely. “Well, you know kids. They scare easily. If I were to sit in the open some kids would see me and get terrified, so some parent would go inside to complain about the man with the scars so I’d get kicked out. I’d prefer to still be able to get my drink, you know?” He rambled a bit.
“Oh, I see. Are you not proud of them?” The stranger pried. “Why would I? They’re just a symbol of my mistakes.” He muttered, readjusting his left sleeve to hopefully cover the scars better.
“Oh. Well, I like them-” They tried to compliment before Karl interrupted. “Can we please move on from this? It’s not very nice to pry into some random stranger’s past.”
“Sorry, sorry. What drink is that?” They asked next. “Iced tea, very cold.” He returned.
“Why don’t you get it warm?” They asked with concern. “Why do you think?” He shot back, adjusting himself to get ready to stand up. His body was buzzing uncomfortably, and his chest was heavy. “Look, if you keep doing this I’ll just leave.”
“I’m sorry, please stay.”
He sighed, letting his legs lay out on the cold ground. “Okay fine.”
Silence struck the two as they sat in the alley. “I didn’t get your name.” Karl finally spoke. “I-I’m sorry, I thought you could see me, I thought you knew who I was.”
“I wish I could see you but I’m kinda blind in that eye so-” He spoke as he turned his head to look at the stranger, before cutting himself off.
He dropped his drink, jumping to his feet. “No, no stop. Oh no, I’m going insane now, aren’t I…” Karl muttered, staring directly at the face of Sapnap, hand covering his mouth. “No! No, it’s okay, this is real!” ‘Sapnap’ spoke, sliding his hand into Karl’s. It was warm and welcoming, just like how he remembered.
“Karl, darling, baby. It’s me, I promise. Would you let me prove it to you?” Sapnap’s melody, his aura was so welcoming, practically begging Karl closer. “How would you do that?”
“Ask me something only I would know. I’ll prove it. Please love.” Tears streamed down his face as he choked out a simple sentence.
“What-what did I do to Quackity when I first met him.”
Sapnap teared up, laughing softly. “You dumped your soda on him because he wouldn’t stop flirting with you. Made me realize just how much I was in love with you-” Sapnap’s reminiscing was interrupted as Karl barreled into the man. “Oh my prime, it’s you, it’s you!” He cried out. “I thought you were dead! What happened to you!”
“It’s a bit of a long story. Gambit kind of told me that someone was ‘impersonating’ you but it was just you!” He pressed their foreheads together as the fireborn pulled Karl off of his feet, now fully protected in his arms.
“I missed you so, so much…” Karl whispered, relaxing into the fireborn’s hold. “I know, I know. I did too.” The fireborn returned, holding him so closely.
“Where’s Q?” “He’ll be with us soon, promise. How about I take you home?” Sapnap offered. And who was Karl to refuse?
“Okay.” He muttered, filled with warmth he hadn’t felt in so long.
- - -
“Toms! Where’d you go?” Wilbur asked teasingly. “Over here, Wilb—-.” Tommy smirked, arms folded as he stood on the table.
“There’s my little brother!” The taller man cheered, running over and picking him up. “You’re so tiny, my little bitty brother.” The man smiled as he held the borrower up to his cheek.
Wilbur promptly moved to the living room couch, flopping down on the cushion belly up. The larger brit rested Tommy on his chest, letting the other lay as he moved a hand over to cover him up.
“Do you have a family?” “I kind of do. I live in a place with a bunch of friends. Most of us are orphans there.”
“Oh yeah? You’re disabled and an orphan, hm?” Wilbur asked. “Yeah, why? I’m such a big man that it doesn’t bug me!” Tommy returned with faux-confidence.
“Well then, if it doesn’t bug you I guess Phil doesn’t have to adopt you. It’s a shame, really-” “What-Wilbur, what?” Tommy pushed himself up, hands buried in the yellow fabric cushioning him.
“Yeah, Phil wanted to adopt you. You’ve been with us for so long, so when Phil came across your file and saw that you didn’t have any family he took it on himself to personally adopt you.”
“This has to be some sick joke, you can’t be serious.”
“But I am Toms, I am. So is Phil and Techno. We want you to stay with us, Toms. What do you say?” The borrower didn’t have a response, instead opting to cry it out.
“Please-please Wilby, I-i’d love it.”
- - -
Eret watched as a strange man burst through the door. “Hello…? Can I-” “Oh, you must be Eret. My name is Sapnap. Karl kinda got tired on the way here, so I’ll just be in his room.”
Eret watched in confusion as the man went into Karl’s room, holding a resting borrower in his hand.
- - -
Karl woke up from the best dream he’d ever had. He opened his eyes and tried to lift himself off of the mattress only to be met with the realization that it was real as he lay pressed against the fabric of Sapnap’s shirt.
His fiance, one of the two he thought were dead, was alive and promising that Quackity was too. That felt so relieving, yet heartbreaking to him.
Did Sapnap still love him? Or did he only pretend because Quackity and Sapnap became closer than ever while Karl no longer became a part of their lives? How did Sapnap even find his house?
“Amor, I can hear your thinking.” The accented voice of his second fiance rang out, who slowly pried his miniature form from Sapnap’s body. Even in sleep, the fireborn missed him, opting to roll over on his stomach instead.
Endearing.
Karl was brought close to Quackity, who he still didn’t believe was real. The avian merely smiled and pressed a kiss to his face. “I missed you, mi amor.” The Mexican whispered. “I missed you too Q. I-i still don’t think this is real-”
“Eret knows it’s real, I had to have a long f—ing talk with them about the two of us.” The avian laughed a bit at the situation. “Now what’s on your mind?”
“Nothing-” “Karl, shut the f— up. You’re the most transparent of the three of us. Care about yourself for once, please.”
“Fine. I was just worried that all of this was an act. I mean, you two did have a few years alone together, so why would you want me back?” The borrower asked, tears peeking out from his eyes. Quackity’s slender fingers carefully wiped the liquid away.
“We would never pretend, amor. If I’m honest, Sap and I had a…bit of a fallout after everything happened. Losing you meant we lost a part of ourselves, and we simply couldn’t deal with it.” The borrower teared up again, hugging Quackity’s thumb tightly. “It’s okay, let it all out. We’ll be here every step of the way. We’ll never leave again.”
“Wha’s goin’ on?” Sapnap muttered, slowly rolling back over to face them again. “Nothing you a–hole, we were having a good talk, but you had to go and ruin it!” Karl knew there was no malice in those words because there never was.
The fireborn didn’t like that answer apparently, opting to immediately sit up and fall over onto Quackity’s shoulder, who struggled to handle the weight of the other. “Get off of me!” The avian shouted playfully, standing up quickly which made Sapnap lose his spot and fall on the bed.
“F— you!” “Hey! There are others in this house!” Karl quickly reprimanded. Quackity blinked for a little before it clicked in his mind.
“Oh, right, sorry Karlos.” Quackity apologized before lifting the borrower back up to his face and planting a big kiss on Karl’s.”Hey! I want to kiss him too!” Sapnap interrupted with a whine.
“No, you don't get to.” Quackity taunted, holding the little borrower away from the fireborn. “Why not!” Sapnap returned, absolutely devastated.
“Because you can't.” Quackity stuck his tongue out at the fireborn, who apparently couldn't take no as an answer because he immediately stretched himself out and stole Karl right off the avian's hand.
“Hey!” Quackity gasped with betrayal. “How could you, I was giving him cuddles.” Sapnap simply laughed and began snuggling the borrower. Karl just laughed at the whole ordeal. “Okay! Okay! Come on, I want you guys to meet my friends!” The fireborn rolled his eyes with a smile and slid Karl down onto the bed, who immediately grew to human height and stood up, taking one of Sapnap and Quackity’s hands into his own to pull them out of the room.
“Karl! See, Purpled, I told you he was up!” Tubbo immediately announced, running into the taller.
“Tubso! Hey bud, how did you sleep?” “Really good! I had a dream of Tommy, Ranboo, and I sitting on a bench and listening to music! It was a bop!” Karl laughed, hugging the boy.
“Tubso, these are Sapnap and Quackity, my fiances.” Karl introduced, pointing to them. Tubbo thought for a moment before his eyes sparkled with excitement. “Karl! That's so awesome! Do you think any of them want to fire nukes with me?” The bee hybrid bounced.
“Maybe, maybe not, I don't know. How about you go round up everyone so I can introduce them?” “Oh yeah! I can do that big man!” Tubbo announced proudly before excitedly running away.
“Tubbo’s a bit excited. Let's go sit at the table, I'll pull out some foldable chairs.” The man smiled happily. “That sounds awesome.” Sapnap smiled. The two were led into the dining area. Karl opened a closet door, pulling out two foldable chairs. He set them up next to the chair with his name on it. Within moments the teens of the house ran into the room, each taking their respective seats. Karl and Eret sat at opposite ends of the table. Eret pulled out two apple pies and set them out on the table, letting everyone get their breakfast.
“So, any fun things that happened yesterday?” Eret asked, dishing herself a slice. “The Minecrafts are adopting me today.” Tommy announced. Karl looked over at him with a wide smile.
“Toms! That's awesome, I'm so happy for you!” He commented happily. “You'll have to remember to visit us.” “Yeah, big man! Just because you have a family now doesn't mean you can forget about us!” Tubbo commented after, wrapping the boy in a hug.
Eret made eye contact with Karl while the other teens congratulated Tommy. Once the table once again settled down, they cleared their throat to speak. “And who are these two?” She asked, eyeing him with a smirk.
Sapnap gripped his hand as Karl took a breath. “Everyone, these are Sapnap and Quackity, my fiances.” Silence hung in the air, the tension growing quickly. “Look, great reunion and all, but Karl, you said they were dead.” Purpled commented with suspicion.
“I-I know, but they aren't! Sapnap found me yesterday in the alley-” “Have you considered this could be fake?” Purpled returned. Karl was at a loss. He knew it was true, he did, and he could feel it. But what if it wasn't?
“Purpled, do you think I'd let the two in knowing they would just be using him?” Eret answered, and Karl let out a shaky breath. Eret knew. They always did. “And since Karl has a lack of parents I will be stepping in. If any of you two hurt him, let's just say no one will find your bodies.” She smiled, straightening herself in the chair.
Karl burst into laughter as Tubbo bounced in the seat. “Could I nuke them, please, please, please?” “Tubbo no-” Ranboo began, trying to calm the bee down.
“I'm down,” Tommy smirked. “I'm always happy to blow s— up.” The three at the head of the table burst into laughter. “I’d love to see you try, honestly.” Quackity commented as he looked over at Sapnap.
Karl caught his breath again, calming down and relaxing into his chair, holding his fiances' hands tightly. It felt incredible to have the two back.
And yet his mind filled with dark thoughts as everyone else seemed to talk amongst each other. He finished his breakfast and waited until everyone finally left to clean it all up.
“Hey man, what’re you thinking?” Aimsey asked as they approached him from behind, startling him. “Sorry, sorry, it's nothing.” He commented, pulling out the roll of aluminum foil.
“I'd hate to say it but I could see your feelings from across the table, and my power is healing.” She commented, resting a hand on his arm–because they were too short to reach his shoulder.
“I-I guess I'm just feeling bad. My whole purpose in being a vigilante is to make sure no one else suffers like how my fiances did, but I don't even think they had a struggle! I-I don't know, I'm just feeling like I'm not worth anything now because I've lost any purpose I ever thought I had.” He ranted, wrapping the remaining pie in foil.
He had silence to think while he put the pie to the side and started washing the dishes.
“Karl, I promise that it's not true. You've done so much for everyone, whether or not your motives held. You've changed so many lives and saved so many people with that simple phrase. Just because you found out just barely that your fiances are still alive and shockingly uninjured doesn't make your work any less valid.” The healer smiled, wrapping him in a hug.
“You've done so much for everyone, so now it's time to let someone help. Go visit your fiances, I'll handle the dishes.” They finished with a smile, attempting to shove him aside. Karl laughed softly and hugged Aimsey before wandering off to find the two.
- - -
Karl paced the room, holding his new mask in his hands. It had been two weeks since he'd been reunited with his fiances, and now he needed to break the truth to them.
He couldn't find many more excuses for coming home late with bruises and cuts all over him.
Curse HD.
But how would he even tell them?! ‘Hey guess what, I'm secretly a highly wanted vigilante who is pretty overpowered-’ No, no that one won't work, it would just make the two immediately call the cops. And he did not want to see Gambit again.
He'd been watching the hero when he was on patrol while also being a witness to PVP’s redemption in becoming a hero. It made him feel slightly better that his interrogation had helped turn the villain to the right, but also made him feel worse.
Finally, Karl sucked in a breath and clutched his shirt as he opened the door and stepped into the living room where he had heard the two hanging out a few moments earlier.
What he saw was something he never would've thought he'd ever see.
Karl dropped his mask as he stared in shock at Sapnap and Quackity who were now staring at him with panic, dressed up in hero outfits. And not just any hero outfits, but Gambit and PVP.
“W-what the f—...?” He whispered, filled with fear and betrayal. “Karl, wait, it's not what-no it's exactly what it looks like-please let us talk this out-” Sapnap began, slowly approaching him. Karl's breath caught in his throat as he took a step back, away from the two.
“It-it was you…?” He barely mustered, tears threatening to escape. “Amor, wait-”
“It was you two-I-i thought you two were in danger-you two locked me up-you knew-” He struggled, trying to find the words to say in the moment. “I-I know, Amor, and I'm sorry, but we can talk this out-”
“No-no-I-just no, I don't want to talk about this-” Karl choked out, retreating into his room as quickly as he could. He locked the door behind them.
“Love, can we please talk about this-” “Leave me alone!” He choked out, slamming his back against the farthest wall as he interrupted Sapnap. “Leave me alone.” He cried to himself, hearing shuffling from outside.
He cried alone in that room for hours before he eventually passed out from his lack of water.
- - -
“Karl, you need to eat something, please come out…” Ranboo spoke, knocking on the door. “No, go away.” The other responded from the other side. They sighed, staring hopefully at Tubbo.
“He hasn't come out all day, and his fiances haven't been around at all. What do we do?” They asked the bee. “I think Purpled is going in soon, he's going to try and convince Karl to eat.” Tubbo spoke sadly, staring at the door.
“I’m glad someone's trying to do something. Eret's gone out looking for someone–probably his fiances–in their vigilante gear so someone f—ed up.” Aimsey commented. “It's just so sad to see him like this.”
Ranboo nodded, pulling Tubbo away. Aimsey stood at the door for a few moments before eventually stepping away.
- - -
Eret stared out from their perch on a tall building, looking out for two people. They should've seen this coming, they saw everything but that moment.
But finally, their eyes landed on the fiery orange of PVP. She sprung into action, running across the roof and leaping onto the next. He landed roughly but continued, eventually sliding down the side of the small shop, and landing next to the two.
“You couldn't even last two weeks without f—ing it all up, huh?” They began, walking towards their huddle. Gambit jumped back while PVP stood his ground. “I-we didn't mean to, he just saw us like this.”
“I was serious about my threat.” They returned, pulling out an extendable cane. “Wait, no please, we didn't mean to-”
Prince made a move, throwing their cane in the air and slamming it against Gambit’s head. The hero shouted in alarm as he was thrown into the ground. “Wait, wait, Prince! Please, we promise we are just trying to fix this, we are figuring out a plan!” PVP defended himself quickly.
“How. What are you planning on doing to fix this mess?” They spit, letting their cane rest against the ground. “I-Q had a gift he never got to give to Karl, we thought we could use it as a peace offering so we could talk it out.” The ex-villain spoke quickly.
“What is it?” “It’s a necklace, a choker with our initials and birthstones. Karl had done so much for us when I had it commissioned, so I wanted to show our appreciation for him.” Gambit spoke as he pushed himself up off the ground and pulled out a little bag.
Prince took it quickly and opened it up. Sure enough, inside was a black choker. If he looked hard enough they could see silver inside. The vigilante let out a breath, closing the little bag and handing it back. “Fine. We’ll go now.” They spoke, walking away towards the house.
- - -
“Karl, buddy, do you want to talk?” Karl heard Eret ask through the door. “No, leave me alone.”
Karl was alone, the people he thought he could trust weren’t who they said they were. He glanced at the cracker Purpled had left him on the bed, telling him to take a break from being a human and rest.
He didn’t.
“Amor, we have something for you if you’d let us talk it out.” “No,” He said, “I don’t want to talk. This was just a ploy to get me arrested, wasn’t it.”
“No, no, baby, it’s not, I promise. We wanted to tell you on our own, so I’m sorry you had to deal with that. Would you let us talk it out?” Karl thought for a moment. “Maybe…but not now.” He returned quietly.
“That’s okay baby. Would you want us to text you later? We won’t bring it up unless you want us to.” “Please.” Karl started crying again, finally happy to have a middle ground.
“We love you, amor. No matter what.” Quackity finished.
And finally, after spending a whole day against the same wall from last night, he stood up on unsteady feet and flopped onto the bed. He let himself shrink back to his normal size, lying on his back.
“Let’s just see what happens.” He whispered, closing his eyes.
- - -
“So the moles in the commission have been identified thanks to Blaze and Saint, and the coup is almost ready. Is Riot ready to go?” Gambit began in his office. “Theseus is good to go. May I ask who Blaze and Saint are for reference?” Cerberus asked.
“PVP and Egg. The two have been willing to comply with everything we’ve asked of them. Saint remains in the custody of the commission for the time being, and Blaze is to remain with me.”
Gambit returned. “Sounds good. How are we going to start this?” Cerberus asked quickly.
“I’ve had Nuclear and Tulip set up a fake distress signal in an old warehouse. The two say that we should be able to send it out and start tomorrow.” Gambit informed. “Great. And the moles?” Cerberus spoke.
“We have listed down Toast, Marmalade, HD, XD, and Schlatt himself.” Gambit read. “Wait, you can’t be serious.”
“I’m being completely serious.” “Do we have any more backup? The heroes that aren’t will not be enough to handle this.” Cerberus got noticeably more anxious.
“Well, the Flower Girls are helping, all of them. We’ve also got the Happy Crew. Frogger’s offered as well.” Gambit spoke. “Oh, so you’re finally accepting the help of vigilantes?”
“Shut the f— up. Thankfully I think this is all of the new information. I’ve got another group I want to try and see if I can get some help from, but I’m unsure of how that’ll work out.” He finished.
“Alright, just tell me how it goes, okay mate?”
“Got it, thanks, Phil.”
- - -
“Alright, everyone! We have some work to do.” Karl announced, gathering everyone around the round table in the living room. “So Eret and I have done some conversing, and we’ve got a big issue. The hero commission is going through with a coup tomorrow and they won’t make it without our help.”
“So that's where we come in. Let’s go through the plan.”
- - -
Sapnap approached the door slowly, knocking on the door. “Hello?” He asked slowly. The lights were off, but he figured that at least someone would be home. “Hey, it’s Sapnap, I have a question.” The fireborn asked again.
He sighed after no one answered for a few minutes, eventually opting to set a small bag on the doorframe with a note addressed to Karl.
“Well, if anyone’s here there’s something on the door for Karl.” He finished, leaving the house feeling defeated.
- - -
Blaze smiled confidently as he grabbed Gambit’s hand from where they hid in the rafters. They both knew the likeliness that they came out of this alive, yet they were willing to fight the battle for the betterment of the future.
Soon enough they watched as the group of five stepped into the building. “You can come out.” HD spoke immediately.
F—, they forgot about his mind powers.
“What-” Toast started before he was immediately wrapped up in vines. Marmalade made a move to free his partner, only to be pounced on by a tiger. HD was thrown in the air by a blast of wind, while XD blocked a blast of water.
“Great going Flower Girls!” Blaze shouted as he hopped off the beam, spreading his wings. Gambit followed closely, being followed by Saint and the Happy Crew.
Red Devil quickly set Diamond down on the ground, the two falling into their normal formations as Saint followed suit. XD growled as he created a pillar of cement to trap Daisy. The poor heroine managed to barely avoid getting her gills covered.
Gambit threw a trap card at XD who dodged it easily. What he didn’t dodge was the fireball aimed towards his head. “F—! PVP! You traitor!” “It’s Blaze now, f—er!” The fireborn laughed, continuing to hold the air with Gambit.
“What, did you get fancy-talked into becoming a hero?” XD taunted. “No, I just had a change of heart.” He smirked.
The brunet glared through his mask towards the fireborn before launching a knife at the man. He couldn’t get down quick enough, the cold metal slicing through his wing.
“F—!” He shouted as he fell to the ground. Gambit glared, throwing his explosion card, followed by a multitude of other cards.
“Tulip!” Gold shouted after she screamed, covering Toast in gold as he ran to the woman’s side. “What did he do to you?”
“Where the f— is SBI?!” Gambit shouted out.
“Where do you think?” Schlatt spoke, finally stepping into the light. “It was easy to trap them in prison.” The ram hybrid smiled cruelly. “Honestly. For some of the best heroes they are terrible at that.”
Perfect-
You are a traitor.
Get out of my head, George.
You couldn’t even protect your fiance, Karl was it?
Shut up, George.
What makes you think you can protect anyone else?
Shut up!
You are weak. You can’t even save a single person.
I can! I can! Shut up and get out of my head!
You are a sad, pathetic excuse for a human being Sapnap. You shouldn’t even be alive.
He cried as his vision came back. The fight was a mess. Gambit lay on the ground next to him, knocked unconscious. The other heroes were spread through the place in various places.
They hadn’t even stood a chance.
“This is what you heroes get for daring to fight us.” Schlatt smiled cruelly. “XD, if you would?”
Sapnap watched as the man stepped forward, prepared for a clean wipeout.
“Hey d—head, behind you.”
Sapnap smiled as he watched Riot blast the man in the back of the head with a concentrated explosion, knocking the man out. “Riot!” “It’s Theseus now, b—-!” The vigilante cheered.
“Alright everyone, you know what to do.”
Sapnap gasped, trying to push himself up off the ground as he saw Karl’s ever-familiar boots step in front of him. “Leave Schlatt for me.” He commanded. “Wha-Karl, no you can’t fight Schlatt, you can’t affect him, he has training against every type of power!” He warned.
“Relax, Sap, I doubt he’s seen a power like mine.” His fiance spoke with confidence. Quackity shuffled behind him as Goose ran up to the avian’s side and began to heal him.
Sapnap watched Queen team up with Bee against Toast, Shade vanish off to face HD with Prince, and Theseus run off to face Marmalade. “Take a break and watch the show, you two.”
“You’re a f—ing idiot if you think you could face off against me, Oracle. Your stupid psychic powers can’t do anything.” The ram goaded on. “Psychic? Who said anything about that?” The vigilante laughed. “Kind of sad.”
Schlatt didn’t seem to falter at that statement and held his ground as Karl began to approach.
Within moments HD began to scream, falling to the ground and scrambling backwards. “Sir, we can’t just fight him-” “Close your mouth.” The ram shot back.
HD panicked as his mouth vanished, hands reaching up to feel out the area as he began to mumble and screech. “Undo that.” Karl spoke, stopping. “And why should I?” The vigilante merely held up a hand that stopped an explosion mid-attack.
“Watch where you aim those please, Theseus.” He spoke calmly. Sapnap watched with wide eyes. “Now, undo what you did, or that’ll go right into your face.” The fireborn could hear the smile in his fiance’s voice.
“Fine. You can speak again, but don’t you dare try and tell me what you saw there.” HD gasped as his mouth returned, immediately running over to XD’s unconscious body and picking him up, dodging any attacks made by Shade.
“There, that’s better.” Karl seemed smug about the whole situation, stepping forward a bit and letting the explosion go. It hit the wall, shaking the building. “I hope you know I don’t plan to let you near me.” Schlatt spoke.
“Sorry, this fight is escalating, I think I’d like to live.” HD announced before running away with his partner in his arms.
Sapnap was shocked at how calm this whole fight was.
“Now why didn’t you command that?” Karl asked, quizzical. “Because I honestly want to see you try.” The ram smiled tauntingly. Karl continued his slow walk towards the mastermind. “Besides, you need contact for your powers to work, don’t you?” The ram decided. Karl was at quite a disadvantage.
“Who said I needed to touch anyone?” Oh s—, what? Sapnap watched as Karl pointed a finger towards the fight between Toast and the Beeduo. “Watch this, why don’t you?” Within a moment, Toast stopped moving altogether, pausing him mid-fight.
What was Karl doing?!
“I don’t even need to touch to use my abilities.”
Sapnap didn’t miss the flinch from Schlatt. That was what he was doing. Karl was never one for fighting, so he was trying to put on a show to intimidate his enemy into running away. Brilliant.
“What’s happening?” Quackity whispered drowsily, staring at Sapnap. “Karl’s trying to intimidate Schlatt, and I think it’s working. Schlatt flinched.” The fireborn whispered back. Goose was trying hard to contain the confusion on their face, but he could see the poor healer wondering about the situation before they moved on to another hero.
“Really?! What did he do?!” The avian whispered back. “Karl just froze Toast mid-fight without even touching him. He also froze an explosion to keep it from hitting him.”
“Holy s—...” “Exactly.”
“I’ll give you…” Karl spoke up, grabbing his pocket watch and holding it up to his face for a moment, “About one minute to either run away or surrender. If not, you’ll see.” Schlatt took a step back before gathering himself again.
“Watch, see?” Sapnap whispered.
“I’ll never do that, f— you!” The vigilante sighed. “I’d hate to do something I’d regret. Please rethink your choice.”
“Never! You can’t hurt me!” Karl let the pocket watch fall back down to hang at his waist. “You are genuinely a nimrod, I try to show you mercy, and this is what you do? Fine. Your grave.”
The vigilante smiled, running forward. Schlatt panicked slightly before pulling out a sword and pointing it towards Karl before he disappeared.
“They’ll never find your body.” The man whispered into Schlatt’s ear, quiet enough for only the vigilante and his victim to hear, hand draped gently against the back of his head.
Within seconds of Karl’s eyes closing Schlatt simply turned to dust. Gambit screamed as Sapnap stared with wide eyes at Karl, expecting the other to explain it.
Karl decided against that, walking back to his earlier position with a grim look in his eyes. “Poor darling, let me help with that, okay?” The man spoke as he reached the fireborn, kneeling and taking his injured wing in one hand, resting Sapnap’s head on his other hand.
Sapnap glanced over to his wing and watched as the tear fixed itself. “All better.” The vigilante smiled, pulling the fireborn’s face a bit closer as he leaned down to press a kiss to his face. “The best patient.”
“What-what was that…?!” He asked. “My powers. I don’t like fighting or going to that extreme, but it was his choice.”
“I-I thought you were a psychic!” Quackity returned. Karl smiled as he snapped his fingers. “Whoah! Okay, I didn’t do that-” Theseus shouted from the other side of the building.
“I’m not a psychic. My powers are just time itself.” The vigilante smiled gently. Sapnap could feel himself regaining energy and just feeling better. “Really…?”
“Yeah. I can pause people, accelerate or pause their lives, travel forward and backward in time, see visions of the future, all those cool things. I can even heal people by reversing the damage or speeding up the injured area.”
“I’m not going to lie, you looked hot out there.” Quackity smiled. Karl flushed and laughed. “Q! We’re in public!”
The fireborn smirked. “No, he’s right, you were very sexy out there.” “Oh the moment we get back home I am slapping you two with pillows, shut the honk up!”
“How would you like to stay in the hero tower with Q and I? I mean, Theseus is staying there with the SBI now, I think it would only be fitting.” Quackity offered. Karl took a sharp breath. “I-I would love to Q, but I need to stay with the others-”
“Karl shut up and go with them. We can handle ourselves. You’ve helped us all get on our feet, we’ll be just fine without you. And if we do need help we can always call.” Eret interrupted Karl as they put power-dampening cuffs on Toast’s wrists. The vigilante smiled and unpaused the villain once he was sure they had him under control.
“Wha-” The confused villain asked. “You are under arrest.” Eret followed up with.
“Fine, since Eret said so, I’ll stay.” The vigilante smiled. “By the way, I love your little gift.” He finished, pulling away his collar to reveal the choker. It held three letters–Q, K, and S in that order–with their birthstones on each of them. Sapnap pulled Quackity in with a hug. “It looks amazing on you.”
- - -
He smiled as he looked over the framed photo in his hands. A picture of him, Q, and Sapnap at the altar. Karl finally felt like he wasn’t alone after years of being without his fiances. But now they were sealed together with such a precious declaration.
“Karl! Karl help! Sapnap’s armed!” Quackity shouted, hiding himself behind him. Karl smiled with a laugh as he placed the photo down. “Sapnap!” He shouted out in a challenge.
“I’m coming for you!” The fireborn shouted as he emerged from the master bedroom with a pillow in his hands. Karl shrieked playfully as he ran away from the ex-villain, hopping on the couch. Sapnap threw the pillow at him, smacking his face. He devolved into giggles as he threw the plush surface to the side, shrinking down to make himself harder to find.
Quackity hit the couch soon after, the fireborn playfully tackling him. The two were laughing like crazy. Karl decided the safe place would be under the pillow, quick to take cover. The avian’s wings flared and flapped around as Sapnap began to tickle him instead.
“Get him Sappy!” Karl cheered from beneath the protective surface. Sapnap gasped, stopping his playful assault on Quackity. “Q, did you hear that?”
“Yeah!” “I think a certain tiny husband’s trying to hide from our love!” The fireborn spoke out, immediately pulling away his cover and lifting him into the air. “We can’t let that happen, now can we?” He finished, holding Karl close to his chest.
“Hey! I want tiny cuddles too!” Quackity chirped out. “Fine, we’ll just have to take a nap then.” Sapnap suggested, walking towards the room he had just come from. Karl simply laughed, warm within the confines of his husband’s hands.
The fireborn had decided to slowly lay down while the avian decided to jump into the space next to the man. “Okay, now you need to share him.” Quackity demanded with a playful pout. “Fine, but only because you asked so nicely.”
Sapnap let Karl lay down on the fabric of the bed between his two husbands. He eventually felt one of Quackity’s hands resting over him as a sort of blanket with the fireborn layering his hand overtop. “I’m glad I have you two back.” Karl muttered tiredly–his energy went into the fight from earlier.
“We’re so f—ing glad to have you back too,” Quackity whispered in return. “But now you are with us forever.” Sapnap finished as the three were slowly and gently pulled into a beautiful dream.

A Great Divide Between You and Me (When Did you become so cruel?) [II]
----------------
The trip downstairs was as comfortable as it could get while, ya know…being in a slimy gut. Sure it was squishy and that provided a nice barrier to get slung around in but it was still nasty.
He wrung out his tail before leaning up against the stomach wall, listening to Tommy’s breathing and voice as he spoke so casually to his family. He closed his eyes, imagining the scene that was before Tommy.
His brother, lounging casually and reading some book about Greek mythology and drinking some of the caffeine that Techno almost always desperately needed.
Phil was probably doing a little dusting, making sure to be careful as he cleaned the living room up as to make sure he wasn’t lurking around anywhere he could get hurt. Phil always did make sure he was careful of not scaring him and it had been what-a total of three years and he still made sure to be as courteous and kind as he had the first time they had a conversation.
Those thoughts kept him grounded and feeling relatively safe for all of a few minutes. If he had been counting he was sure it would fall below the five minute mark.
He heard muffled shouts but Tommy’s were definitely the loudest since he was inside the teenager…
The words that Tommy were saying felt…felt wrong? Tommy had never said things before and yeah, he knew this whole thing was a prank and none of it was true but…
But the words stung…more like a wasp sting than a bee sting…
What Tommy was saying made him feel uncomfortable and unsafe and he felt like he was near those wasps like when he was a kid.
He felt…
Scared.
He squirmed around in the stomach, suddenly feeling so very unsafe and uncomfortable inside of the stomach.
When the muffled shouts got louder and seemingly more angry everything seemed to go so fast as he was tossed around the slimy and plush walls, letting out a surprised yelp.
What in primes name was happening?
Wilbur nearly screamed as the mush of cereal entered the stomach with him and he cringed. He thought Tommy wasn’t going to eat with him inside!
He pushed away some of the food before hearing a loud belch come from above and he shuddered. He was ok! Tommy wasn’t going to kill him…this was just a joke…
He took a deep breath, trying to remain calm. Alright. This was alright he was alright.
He vaguely heard a bowl slam into the table, the spoon clattering. Then shouts and more loud noises that were thankfully muffled.
“You know what fuck you Techno! I was doing you a favor!! You are making too big a deal about this!”
Tommy shrieked loudly and Wilbur covered his ears, whimpering a little before shoving the walls. “T-Tommy please quiet down an-and-“ Wilbur was cut off as he was thrown back and around.
“Don’t you shove me prick-It’s too late. The pest is gone.”
His blood turned to ice and his stomach churned. He felt sick and his mind yelled but he forced any thoughts away.
Tommy didn’t mean any of that shit he was just doing his act that was all. Techno should understand this was a prank.
Wilbur tried to get back to his feet and stabilize himself but he was once again tossed forward, crashing uncomfortably into another one of the fleshy walls in his…in his (Prison) temporary home-
His hands pressed down on the plush walls and he gagged a little cringing at the slime that coated his hands and he pushed away. Prime this place was disgusting he couldn’t wait to be let out.
Over all the commotion and barely hearing a lick of context he finally-finally heard another voice that managed to reach his ears.
A voice he had come to love.
A voice that comforted him and soothed him when he got scared or when he had a nightmare.
A voice he started calling and associating as “Dad” just last year.
“BOYS-stop fighting right now!”
——-
Phil glared at both of the arguging teenagers with venom, eyes glistening with fresh tears while he cheeks had tear tracks running down them.
Techno and Tommy immediately stopped …surprisingly…and stood straighter, looking at there father with a bare minimum of shame.
“I do not want either of you near or even in the same house as each other till tonight. Do you both understand me?”
He asked, anger seeping into his tone but Tommy could tell that none of it was directed at Techno.
All of it was directed at him.
The shorter blond crossed his arms, making sure to squeeze a little around his stomach just to get on Techno’s nerves further. He was a tad shocked when he heard a pathetic sounding yelp from his stomach but rolled his eyes.
Whatever, he needed to focus on making sure no one knew the borrower was still alive. It’d ruin everything if it kept moving and making noises like that. Thankfully no one heard it as his arms seemed to muffled it along with his clothes.
“Tommy, go grab a bag and leave my house until dinner. Do I make myself perfectly clear?” Phil asked. His voice was cold though Tommy didn’t miss the way it cracked.
Out of the corner of Tommy’s vision he could see Techno already curling his hands back into fists and he made sure to squeeze a little more. Techno’s hands tightened, knuckles turning white. Tommy ignored him before nodding at his father.
“Oh believe me I wouldn’t dream of coming back till dinner tonight. Means I can go hang out with my friends and shit.” He grinned, proving to his family even further he hadn’t cared about the borrower. All as planned.
He smirked, walking quickly past Techno who stomped after him, only being stopped by Phil who stopped him. He whispered something into his ear and that seemed to diffuse Techno a little.
He looked defeated.
He went to the charging station, grabbing his phone off the charger and his bag. “Alright! I’ll be off! Don’t miss me too much~!” He giggled before opening the door.
He waved, got nothing back and then exited out of the house, a much more sinister smile forming on his face. Oh this would be fun…
———-
This was fucking scaring him now. This was no longer Fucking funny.
Wilbur tried to keep himself stable inside the stomach, hearing his brother’s somehow off putting giggle. He…He really wasn’t liking it anymore…
The pouch he was stuck in swung side to side gently and he couldn’t help but cringe a little at some of the food Tommy had put in the fleshy pouch with him. He…He must have put it in there cause he briefly forgot Wilbur was there! Yeah-that was it.He fidgeted with his hands. He kind of wanted to stretch himself out a little more. The storage was comfortable for the most part, even if he hated the warmth and slime and mostly everything about the spongy area it wasn’t awful!...He just wanted to stretch. No other reason.Definitely not because he wanted to talk to Tommy and maybe get a moment to ask and confirm, though he wasn’t sure why he needed to do that! It was obvious Tommy was playing around…but still, just in case he wanted to ask if he was really joking. He’d rather be safer than sorry after all.
———————
Tommy walked through the neighborhood, pulling out his phone and dialing Tubbo’s number, still smiling like a child who had just been given all the candy ever.
The phone rang a few times. Then, at long last, when Tommy was ready to leave a voicemail, he picked up.
“Hey Tommy how are you today? What are you and Wil up to?” He asked. Tommy smirked, patting his stomach. “I’m great! Me and Wil aren’t doing annnny antics today. As a matter of fact, he’s comfortable. Got him a new permanent room and he’s settling in very, very well. What are you and Boo up to aside setting up for your pranks tomorrow?”
Ranboo and Tubbo did april fools a little differently than Tommy and Wilbur did. While Wilbur and him did a prank on the day of and involved every single person, Tubbo and Ranboo only did pranks the day after and only with each other.
Tubbo’s huff was heard through the speaker as he dropped his voice to a whisper. “Well-“ he started “I don’t think we’re doing pranks because Ranboo is gonna be busy all day. He’s working with Niki at the bakery and he won’t have any time to prepare and I’d feel really bad if I pranked him and he couldn’t prank me back.”
Tommy continued his walk, humming along to Tubbo’s words as he kept on the cracked sidewalk to his next location. The reason he wasn’t going to Tubbo’s and Ranboo’s place was because they lived a little too far away to walk to.
He glanced around the area, pausing for just a moment as his stomach growled loudly and he pat it again. He should get something to eat and soon. He was starving.
That borrower and cereal didn’t fill him up at all. He swore that because the borrower tasted so good it should have filled him up more but oh well-he could always find another borrower.
Maybe Bad wouldn’t mind if he had just a small taste of Sk-
No. What was he thinking-Skeppy was his friend! He couldn’t even try a taste of someone else's borrower-that would be horribly rude.
“Dude, that sucks. Think you two and Niki’ll be able to come to dinner tonight though? Wilbur really wants everyone to be there for our prank. It’s going to definitely make the dinner muuuuch better.” He cackled a little. This was gonna be fucking great. If he got those three there, then the prank was going to be looooads better.
Niki and Wilbur went way back. They had started out slightly rocky, Wilbur was of course nervous during the second year when they had done that forgetting prank but Niki had been kind and went slow.
Ranboo and Tubbo had met Wilbur the same day and he had relaxed so much when Ranboo was somehow more nervous and delicate than anyone had previously thought possible.
Tubbo had been extremely polite and the chaotic energy the two shared gave Phil and Ranboo around one or two heart attacks. It had been incredibly funny until Niki and Techno had attempted to tackle Tubbo his attempt to put Wilbur on the highest shelf in the kitchen.
A shuffling noise could be heard over the speaker, shaking him from his memories. Tubbo sounded like he was searching for something around him. Papers ruffled and dishes clattered. He must be in his office or something like that.
“I’m sure we can be there! I know Wilbur doesn’t get to see boo and me all too often and I know he misses Niki’s baking so I’ll see if they can make a cake for him! I mean-they probably won’t wanna miss tonight anyway since this is the anniversary of them all meeting.”
Tubbo prattled on and on but Tommy wasn’t listening anymore. He must be talking about whatever Ranboo and Niki were baking or supposed to be baking today. That shit didn’t matter though. The important information had already been shared.
It was Niki, Ranboo and Tubbo’s anniversary of meeting Wilbur.
Wilbur, who they saw as a friend.
As a person. Not a snack.
That was the best, most exciting news he heard all day.
———-
Wilbur was…he felt awful and scared and he felt more uncomfortable each word and step his…
The brunet shook his head a little, the stomach gurgling and pressing in on him much to his discomfort.
“T-Tommy…? Can you please let me out?” He let out in a weak voice, pushing at the walls to try and get more space before he felt a hand on the outside of his hell pat at where he was situated, his smugness practically emanating from his surroundings and from Tommy’s voice.
Why the hell was Tommy being like this!? Of course it was a prank and it was supposed to be like Tommy was a dickhead who hated him, sure but…
But if that was the case then why the fuck was this feeling so real? He hated that it felt so fucking real and he felt like it wasn’t an act.
He suddenly felt sick to his stomach at the thought of it not being an act. That it was actually real. Three years of bonding and brotherly friendship thrown in the trash so Tommy could have nothing but a quick snack.
Fresh tears flooded his vision as his mind began to blur and fuzz up everything as it all suddenly sunk in again.
Tommy didn’t care about him. He just liked the idea of what he could do with him. Of what he was doing with him right now.
What if it was the same with Techno? And-And Phil? What if everyone hated him? Wanted to do what Tommy had beaten them to doing?!
Oh prime oh prime oh prime he was a goner-
He began hyperventilating, trying to stabilize himself in the stomach that was perfectly content making him more distressed.
His ears only caught one last thing that made his blood curdle and his body freeze.
“Alright see you tonight Tub’s! I gotta go though I just got to Dream’s place.”

writing prompt - a borrower’s perspective during, and in the aftermath, of a natural disaster (and I mean a human scale natural disaster), wether or not they have interacted with the human of the house before the events of this story is up to you.
Shelter
—————
Niki slung a bag over her shoulder. It was just an overnight bag, containing a change of clothes and some toiletries. All of the delicate stuff, things they couldn't afford to lose in the storm, were already packed into the car.
She checked the time again. Two hours before the hurricane hit, before they needed to be out of the area. They should have left earlier, but Niki couldn't leave without doing one last thing.
Ranboo was already in the car. Even from here, he looked damp and slightly miserable from the drizzle that had started. Her brother had never been fond of the rain.
Niki was terrified to lose the bakery; it was their whole lives. But she was even more scared of losing her little brother. She wanted to leave an hour ago; but she couldn't in good conscience evacuate knowing about the other inhabitant in their home.
"Jack," she called one last time, a hint of desperation seeping into her voice. "Please, it's an emergency."
Jack was a borrower, a tiny man that lived in their walls. They'd discovered him several months ago, but hadn't actually met until he was trapped on a counter a few weeks ago. He'd been nervous, almost skittish around Niki and Ranboo. He'd vanished back into the walls as soon as he could, and they only knew he was still there because of the security cameras.
Niki hadn't tried to contact him yet, knowing the borrower was afraid of them. But now, she had no choice. She had no clue if Jack even knew what a hurricane was, let alone be able to survive one. She had to try to convince him to evacuate with them.
Finally, just as Niki was giving up hope, she heard the clink of salt shaker falling over. She whirled around, quickly spotting the borrower as light reflected off his one metal arm. He looked wary, and like he might bolt at any moment, but he was here.
***
Jack stared up at the human, fighting the urge to scurry back into the walls. She moved forward slightly, and he instinctively took a step back.
Niki seemed like a very nice person, and she'd helped him before. That didn't mean he should lower his guard. She was still a human, and could hurt him so easily… he took a deep breath.
"What do you want?" He asked with a confidence he didn't feel. He crossed his arms, trying to steady the slight tremble in the one that was still flesh and blood.
He almost hadn't come. According to borrower rules, he shouldn't have. The emergency could be a trick, something to lure him out. Jack couldn't bring himself to believe that, though, so here he was.
"There's a hurricane warning- we've been told to evacuate," Niki said. Jack didn't know what a hurricane was, but his heart dropped. Anything that had humans evacuating was bad news for a borrower.
"I couldn't just leave you behind," Niki said.
And suddenly, Jack realized what she was implying. His pulse sped up, and he took another step back. She wanted to take him with her. To take him away from his- and her- home.
Not only would that mean leaving, possibly forever. It would mean letting her carry him, transport him. He would have to give her full control, and he'd have to trust she wouldn't abuse that control to hurt him.
"What- what does a hurricane do, exactly?" he asked weakly. Maybe he could just stay in the walls and he'd be safe. Maybe he didn't have to evacuate.
"It's a storm, a really bad one," Niki said, her eyes darting towards the clock. Oh, hell, were they on a time limit? His stomach twisted.
"How bad?" He hedged.
"There can be flooding, and strong winds. In the worst cases the storm can take a house down."
Jack's breaths came shallow and quick. His vision blurred as his mind filled with vivid images. His home inside the walls crumbling beneath his feet, the walls of the house torn down by a raging storm, water flooding every corner of the house until he couldn't breathe-
"...breathe, Jack. You need to breathe." Niki's calm voice cut through his panic and he blinked.
She was a lot closer now, leaning towards him. He itched to take another step back, but her brow was furrowed with concern and she hadn't grabbed at him.
He followed her instructions, taking deep breaths to calm himself. After several rounds of counting his breath, he was able to think more clearly. The fear was still there, but survival came first.
"Do- do I have time to pack?" He asked.
Her face pinched, and her eyes darted to the clock. There was a heavy pause before she answered.
"Please be quick," she said.
Jack was pretty sure that meant 'there really isn't time.' He gulped. Was there anything that he truly couldn't live without? Anything worth risking his life? He didn't think so.
"I- nevermind," he said, taking a deep breath. "I'm ready."
Niki looked conflicted for a moment before she nodded. Then she moved, her hand moving towards him.
Jack was unable to hold back his flinch. He expected her to grab him, to pluck him off the counter like he was nothing. Instead, she set her hand on the counter, letting it rest palm up. It was up to him to climb on.
He took a shaky breath trying to steel himself. He stepped forward on trembling legs, his heart feeling like it might beat out of his chest. It didn't matter how nice Niki seemed; she could hurt him so easily, and there was nothing he could do to stop it.
Jack squeezed his eyes shut and pulled out his last shreds of courage. He leaped onto her hand, desperately hoping that Niki could be trusted.
***
Ranboo sat in the passenger seat, his knee bouncing in place. He looked out the window, his heart fluttering nervously at the sight of the black clouds smothering the sky.
His hand drifted towards his mouth, and he anxiously chewed on his nails. They should have left nearly ten minutes ago, and Niki was still inside.
He wasn't sure what terrified him more- the idea of being too late to evacuate, or the idea of Jack being caught in the storm.
Before he could work himself into a panic, he heard the bakery door opening. His head shot towards the sound, and he wilted in relief.
Niki hurried out, her hands clutched carefully to her chest. She'd managed to get Jack out, thank goodness.
Realizing her hands were full, Ranboo leaned over and opened the driver's side. She slid in, her hair and sweater damp from the rain.
Ranboo's eyes locked onto the borrower that was clutched in her hands. He felt a lump forming in his throat at the sight.
Jack was shaking like crazy, his eyes squeezed tightly shut. He didn't look like he'd gotten wet- probably a good thing considering one of his arms was robotic. But he looked terrified, as tense as a coiled spring.
"Jack, I need to drive now," Niki said softly, looking down at the small man with concern. "I'm going to hand you to Ranboo. Is that ok?"
Ranboo's eyes went wide with panic. Oh god, oh god, he had to hold Jack, didn't he?
Jack didn't open his eyes, but he nodded jerkily. Niki looked up, meeting Ranboo's eyes.
His heart was pounding, but he held out his hands anyways. Niki moved quickly but carefully, tilting her hands so Jack slid off. Ranboo's heart skipped a beat at the feeling of an entire person sitting in his hands.
His hands were trembling slightly. He wondered if Jack could feel it? He realized that he could feel the tiny man's feather-light pulse, as quick as a rabbit's, and his far-too-fast breathing.
He brought his hands to his chest as slowly as he could, terrified he'd somehow hurt Jack.
The car sprung to life, and he jumped, his hands instinctively curling a little tighter around the borrower. He felt Jack's flinch, and he felt a curl of guilt in his gut.
"Sorry," he whispered. "Did I hurt you?"
"N-no," the borrower answered. Oh thank goodness.
"Get comfortable if you can; we've got a bit of a drive ahead of us," Niki said. They were hotels and shelters only a short drive away, but they were heading a little farther out. Niki had a friend who'd offered them a place to stay until the storms had passed, longer if they needed.
"We'll be safe soon," Ranboo said quietly, wishing he could do something to comfort the frightened borrower in his hands. "I promise."

BubbleGum Buzz- Chr 1.
Heeeey I finally finished the first chapter of my superhero AU! I'm also going to be posting this on AO3 early with additional easter eggs! Mainly little messages you can decode
Hope you guys like it!
------------------------------------------------------
Tubbo flexed his fingers, double checking to make sure his new suit upgrades functioned and wouldn't have to worry about getting hurt. He took aim with his left arm at some old soda cans he had kept, and frowned when nothing came out of the small dispenser that was supposed to shoot out tiny darts. The brunet removed the armor piece from his arm and opened up the circuit board looking everything over and trying to figure out what was wrong this time.
Tubbo plugged the device into his computer and ran diagnostics, hoping to find out what the problem was. He had been out of action for a week now, and if he didn't get back out on the streets and start helping the heroes again he was never going to make a name for himself! Stupid weird electric villain frying his entire suit.
Suddenly, there was a very loud pigeon outside of his window cooing and ruffling their feathers trying to get his attention. Tubbo simply ignored the bird, focusing on his suit repairs. He then wheeled over to the wall next to his bed on his computer chair, knocking on it.
"Tommy! Your mail’s here!" he watched as the borrower poked his head out of one of the many secret doors in his walls and climbed out running across his bed and heading towards the window.
"It's early today! Have there been any big fights with the heroes and villains in town?" Tommy asked as he used a makeshift ladder to get up to the windowsill crawling out onto the flower bed and opening up the small container on the pigeon's back taking out his mail, he quickly came back inside climbing a short ladder up to one of the shelves that went halfway around Tubbo's room.
Tubbo unlocked his phone screen and started checking the news.
"Nope, there haven't been any fights between heroes and villains today. Maybe something else happened?" He reached up to the end of the shelf that hung over his desk as Tommy jumped off, into his hand.
Tommy started sorting through the mail with a small frown on his face as Tubbo carefully set him down next to the laptop. He let out a deep sigh his ears pinning against his head
"There are more missing people's posters… even worse they're all in green zones!"
"More missing borrowers?" Tubbo used one of the tweezers on his desk to carefully pick up one of the missing flyers, he grabbed his magnifying glass and started reading the paper over. "This is the 40 person? How are that many borrowers going missing and no one's found them?"
"Yeah- five more people just went missing in the middle of the night and no one has any idea what happened, it's starting to get more concerning considering they're going missing in green zones…and two of them were really close to where we are." Tommy continued to go through the other papers looking for some sort of good news and smiled "But! King Karl has finally green lighted adopting stray dogs into the colony in training them to help keep us safe from cats, so if these borrowers just got eaten and no one saw, hopefully people will stop going missing soon!"
'That doesn't really sound any better' Tubbo thought to himself as he went back to working on his suit, he aimed the robotic arm at the soda cans, and finally, one of the small darts that was loaded into it shot out hitting the empty soda can "Yes! Now I'll just have to do a test flight to make sure my wings still work then I can go on patrol tonight-"
Tubbo jumped to his feet as he heard loud screaming outside his bedroom window and the sound of cars crashing, he quickly ran over to the window poking his head outside, and gasped- it was that weird slime villain that had shown up recently! The brunet started suiting up quickly getting into his gear. He can do his test fly right now! Those people outside needed help!
"Tommy-" "On it!" Tommy quickly ran across the desk and climbed into a small hole in the wall disappearing, Tubbo quickly put his helmet on reassured that his small friend would be safe, and climbed out of his bedroom window onto the balcony. The brunette took in a deep breath and activated his wings quickly lifting off into the air, he hovered backward and then quickly took off diving straight towards the slime villain.
Tubbo switched out his antenna for his ram horns and slammed right into the slime villain's chest knocking him to the ground and away from some civilians he had cornered, he quickly backed away having his boots switched to their roller skates as the slime creature slowly got up. Tubbo smiled getting ready to ram into the slime villain again, he had his visor start running a scan on the creature trying to find his weak point.
The brunette jumped back avoiding the creature's slimy hand as it launched it towards him and let out a gurgling noise in annoyance, the slime creature grabbed a nearby bicycle and chucked it at Tubbo almost hitting him in the head. Tubbo's visor finally finished its scan and what it found concerned him.
'Weakness discovered. The small life form in the center of the creature's chest must be removed and the slime will start to lose its consistency' "What is the small life form?" Tubbo asked quickly dodging another bicycle that was thrown at his head 'It appears to be a borrower. No hybrid traits detected.' How the fuck did a borrower do Slime-kinesis!? Fuck could the poor guy even breathe in there!?
Tubbo pointed his right arm to the ground as a Long blade emerged from it and ran forward, slicing straight down the outside of the creature's chest and removing the flimsy fabric that wrapped around its chest, the blade quickly disappeared as he pulled his arm back and quickly punched right in the middle of the giant slime creatures chest. Tubbo pressed his feet against the flying creature's chest as he got a hold of the small borrower and started desperately trying to pull them out.
"Let. Them. Go." Tubbo demanded as he activated the boosters on his boots and sent himself flying backward from the slime as it started dissolving and slowly dripping into the sewer grates nearby, he held the borrower close to his chest as he tried catching his breath and the loud cheers of the civilians around him rang. When Tubbo heard the nearby police sirens he quickly took off into the air and started making his way towards Kinoko Park.
The brunette gently rubbed the borrower’s back with his thumb as they flew through the air trying to lose the cops. Tubbo really hoped the poor guy was still alive- prime he really hoped they were alive.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tubbo quickly walked down the street towards his aunt's bakery keeping his left hand in his pants pocket and resting his thumb on the borrower's chest so he could keep track of their breathing, he slowly opened the door making sure the bell attached to it didn't go off and started making his way upstairs. The brunette reached for the doorknob of his room as a hand reached out and grabbed his shoulder.
"Tubbo Underscore Fluff." Tubbo slowly turned his head, already cowering as he looked into his aunt Niki's eyes "Where the hell have you been? Hm? Did you by chance go outside to get a closer look at the villain that was out there today?"
"Whaaat? Mee? Pfff- no! No, I would never do that! That's so dangerous and I could get seriously hurt aND WHY ARE YOU PICKING ME UP!?" Tubbo started squirming as his aunt picked him up and started carrying him downstairs towards the kitchen, he spotted Fundy and Jack walking into the bakery also equally looking pissed off at him. Oh yeah, he's in trouble.
"Do you know how worried we were!? Jack and Fundy, we're running up and down the streets for an hour trying to find you!" Niki finally set Tubbo down in one of the stool chairs by one of the taller tables in the bakery "Now tell me the truth of where you were or I swear to prime above you will never leave this house again!"
Tubbo stared down at the ground trying to think of some kind of excuse but only had one idea come to mind, he took a deep breath and looked up at Niki "I did follow the heroes when they went after the slime creature…I-I just wanted to try and help…"
Niki pinches the brain over her nose looking away from Tubbo "Why do you have to be so much like her..?" She walked into the kitchen waving at Fundy and Jack "Make sure he doesn't run off while I make dinner, Tubbo you can head back to your room." Tubbo quickly stood up and hugged Fundy and Jack as an apology and then quickly ran up to his room, closing and locking the door behind him.
"Tommy, come out I need your help. I found a hurt borrower." Tubbo said out loud as he knocked on the wall behind his desk and carefully pulled the unconscious borrower out of his pocket, he grabbed a small pillow from his bed and set the unconscious borrower down on it as Tommy ran out of the walls with a Medicaid and started looking the borrower over.
"He seems ok, a few small bruises but besides that he's okay! Where did you find him?" Tommy asked as he started bandaging up one of the bigger bruises on the borrower's arm.
"You're not going to believe this big man but he was inside of that slime monster on the street earlier today, for some reason the slime was sticking together and using him as an anchor to stay solid." Tubbo explained as he turned on his laptop and activated the tracker on his gear he had ditched in the park, he reached into his drawer and opened a small bag of Cheez-Its putting them next to the small pillow Tommy and the mysterious borrower were. "Do you recognize that borrower at all? What if he's one of the borrowers that went missing recently?"
"Hmm let me go see!" Tommy climbed off of the pillow running over to the roll up drawer that had a small ladder inside of it and climbed up into his private investigating area, he went over to his small bulletin board with all the missing peoples' pictures and started trying to find a match between the mysterious borrower. Tubbo slowly lifted up the wooden frame that looked like other drawers on the dresser looking inside of Tommy's private room.
Tommy inspected each and every single missing borrower poster not finding a match for the unknown borrower, he walked over to the edge of his hidden room and shook his head looking up at Tubbo. "There aren't any posters for him missing, maybe he just fell into a bunch of weird slimy goo and gave it sentience?"
"I don't think that's how it works but it is a possibility, how long do you think he's going to be unconscious?" Tubbo asked as he looked over at the sleeping borrower, noticing as their chest started rising and falling a bit quicker than normal.
"Oh they're already awake, they're just pretending to be unconscious!" Tommy confirmed to Tubbo, noticing that he could also see the borrower's horrible attempt at hiding his panic, the two watched the borrower suddenly set up right, looking at Tommy like he was an absolute idiot.
"What the fuck are you doing kid-" the unknown blonde borrower asked squinting his eyes at Tommy.
"Have you not realized the two of us live together? Like we literally share this room together and obviously have known each other for a while?" Tubbo asked in a quiet voice, doing his best not to start all the borrowers.
"Shut it human, this is a discussion between borrowers!" The blonde yelled as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small pair of handmade glasses that had a crack on one of the lunges, he quickly put the glasses on and slowly stood up on the pillow marching his way over to the ladder and climbing up into the small room Tommy was in.
Tubbo looked over at Tommy seeing if he needed any help and gave the brunette a thumbs up letting him know it was fine and it was okay if he left the room so they had some privacy to talk, Tubbo nodded his head and closed the small room off is he stood up and walked out of his room starting to head downstairs to see if dinner was ready.
Fundy stood at the bottom of the stairs holding a large and heavy looking double bag under his arm and having his usual annoyed look on his face, Tubbo reached the bottom of the stairs and held his arms out taking the heavy double bag.
"I didn't ask you to go get my gear…" Tubbo mumbled out as he looked down at the ground trying to avoid Fundy's eyes.
"Oh I'm sorry, do you want your stuff to get stolen? You know what kind of dirt bags would love to get their hands on equipment like that." Fundy stated as he crossed his arms glaring down at Tubbo "I agreed to keep this a secret from Niki and help you run around and pretend to be a hero but that doesn't mean I'm going to let you get away with being irresponsible."
Tubbo just rolled his eyes quickly, taking the double bag up to his room and placing it on The ground inside, leaving as quickly as he had reentered, he could hear the other borrower yelling at Tommy but knew his friend could handle it. He quickly made his way back over to Fundy glaring at him a little "Look I was a bit in a rush to get back here- plus I left it in Kinoko Park, literally no scumbags hang out around there so it would have been fine for a few hours."
"Yeah yeah sure, you still shouldn't be leaving your gear out in the open and random areas where people can steal it." Fundy started making his way towards the kitchen, obviously wanting to end the argument there, Tubbo simply grumbled to himself as he grabbed two plates out of the cupboard and handed one to Fundy. Man, sometimes he really didn't like his cousin.
"Tubbo- oh you're already down here that's good, help yourself to what's on the stove and come eat in the dining room with me and Jack." Niki said as she poked her head into the kitchen and then quickly headed back out to the dining room to eat her dinner, Tubbo patiently waited for Fundy to go and waited until he was out of the kitchen to reach back into the covered area, grabbing a much smaller plate.
Tubbo put a small bit of Tommy's favorite foods from dinner onto the plate and hid it behind the large sugar jar so Tommy could safely get the food and not be in danger of being seen, hopefully his friend would still have an appetite after being lectured.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU!?" Charlie, the mysterious borrower from earlier, yelled at Tommy as he paced back and forth, absolutely flabbergasted and basically foaming at the mouth. "Are you stupid or something!? Did you hit your head and forget the ru-"
"No, I haven't forgotten the rules." Tommy started glaring at the blonde haired borrower and watching as he walked over and started yelling again.
"THEN WHY ARE YOU LIVING WITH A HUMAN!? A HUMAN OF ALL GIANTS! COULDN'T YOU HAVE AT LEAST CHOSEN A HYBRID!?" Charlie screeched as he took a few steps away from Tommy. It took in a few deep breaths trying to come down. "How long have you lived with this human? 2 years? 3 years?"
"More like 10 years now." Tommy started watching as the borrower slowly turned around and looked over at him absolutely horrified and disgusted.
"... Say psych right now there is no way you've lived that long with a human and you're not dead yet." Charlie stated as he walked over to Tommy and grabbed him by the shoulders "Tell me the truth right now kid this isn't funny."
"I am telling you the truth! Geez what is with you older borrowers and not listening to us younger ones it's sooo annoying!" Tommy complained as he pushed Charlie away and walked over to a small door opening it up and climbing into the walls, he followed the chalk symbols on the walls slowly making his way towards the kitchen and not really waiting for the older borrower.
Charlie didn't really say anything as they walked through the tunnels flinching a few times when you heard the other humans in the house laugh or talking a bit louder then the borrower must have not been used to, once they got to the kitchen Charlie walked out first forcing Tommy to stay in the walls a bit as he checked to make sure there were no humans there.
"...Tubbo is keeping them distracted for us we don't need to-" Tommy but suddenly stressed by the older borrower as he poked his head out from behind the sugar jar, man having this guy around was going to be a pain.
Charlie finally nodded his head deciding that it was safe and gave Tommy a thumbs up telling him that it was safe to come out now, the blonde rolled his eyes as he walked over to the small plate of food and started putting it into his bag knowing he probably wouldn't be allowed to just eat out in the open.
"I grabbed some food for you too so we can go, I'll show you where my home is in the walls." Tommy explained as he headed back into the walls and patiently waited for Charlie to join him, he watched as the borrower nervously checked to the door making sure it was properly closed and no one would notice the small cracks and lines that reveal the small piece of wood. This borrower definitely had some bad interaction with humans.
The two borrowers started walking down the tunnel traveling in silence until Charlie finally spoke up.
"...The human really does care about you huh? The food was hidden in a really good spot where we wouldn't be seen and there was way more than enough for at least four borrowers, do the other humans in the house know about you?"
Tommy shook his head as he rounded a corner and started climbing up an old rope ladder that led to the top floor, he went slowly making sure not to shake the ladder as Charlie started climbing up behind him. "Nope! He understands I don't really want to meet the other humans in the house, plus he understands pretty well why humans can't know about us existing so he's never really asked me to meet the other humans."
"Huh I'm surprised a human actually understands that…you got really lucky kid." The way Charlie said that made Tommy concerned, as if he knew from experience how some Humans could be.
"Yeah I did…have you ever known humans before-"
"No. I haven't." Charlie answered quickly, cutting Tommy off as they reached the top of the ladder and continued their walk towards the blonde's home, Tommy tried thinking of a new conversation knowing for a fact they weren't going anywhere with that.
"Do…do you have somewhere safe to go Charlie? A lot of the districts have changed in safety and there's been a lot of missing cases. I can help you get two Kinoko Park if you want to go there." Tommy asked as he held the curtain to his home open watching Charlie walk over to his kitchen table and headed into the kitchen grabbing two plates for their food.
Charlie didn't answer obviously deep in thought as he slowly started to eat once the plate of food was set down in front of him. Tommy sat down across from him as he also started to eat patiently waiting for an answer.
"...How many borrowers are missing now?" Charlie finally asked, looking over at Tommy.
"40 are missing now, 12 from red districts and 28 from green districts. Two recently went missing near here…" Tommy answered as he finished up his own food "There's no residue of them being eaten by cats or hawks and none of them were in areas where a frog could have gotten them, they've just completely disappeared without a trace."
Charlie took a deep breath and let out a long sigh "Ok…I'm going to help you find those borrowers."
Tommy's ears perked up at that as he slowly stood up a smile on his face and his tail flicking back and forth "You well? Oh my prime- are you one of the borrowers that went missing? You must be someone that wasn't registered-"
"There's 60 borrowers missing. I…I remember I was taken with 20 other borrowers, we were slowly collected over the course of a few days I think in a red district." Charlie explained staring down at the table and looking like he was pained to remember any of this.
Tommy gathered up the dirty dishes and started walking towards the kitchen "That sounds absolutely horrible…we should go report this to King Karl-"
"No!" Charlie yelled, quickly grabbing the blonde's arm and causing one of the plastic plates to fall to the ground "No. We can't tell anyone in the colony about this yet, if they find out someone is purposely capturing us they might send out more borrowers to investigate. I would just result in more people getting captured!"
Tommy shook his arm free from the borrower, his raccoon ears pinning against his head as he protested "But- but we can't just not do something! 5 kids were recently taken- kids Charlie!"
"Yes but if these people get their hands on more borrowers they might eventually find the colony. I don't fully remember what they did to me but they're the reason I was in that weird slime stuff, the best we can do is just gather evidence and find out what they're doing on our own." Charlie tried reassuring Tommy as he took the dirty plates from the kid and headed towards the small kitchen. "Please think logically about this kid, we can't risk more borrowers going missing."
Tommy stood in the middle of the dining room slowly making his way over to the door that let out Tubbo's room, he called over his shoulder saying that he was going to step out for a minute and find out onto the bookshelf right above his best friend's bed.
A few minutes later Tubbo thankfully came back into the room walking into his closet and quickly changing into his pajamas heading over to his bed and flopping down onto it, Tommy quickly jumped down from the bookshelf landing on a pillow right next to Tubbo's head and climbed up onto the human's forehead sitting down on it.
"You ok Tommy?" Tubbo asked as he did his best to look up at his small friend.
"No…can I stay with you tonight? The new borrower is going to be staying here for a bit but I kind of want to stay close to you with how many borrowers have been going missing." Tommy explained as he leaned over looking into one of Tubbo's eyes.
The brunette slowly reached up wrapping his hand around Tommy's abdomen and slowly bringing him down to his chest holding his clothes to it and slowly curling around the borrower, Tommy closed his eyes slowly starting to fall asleep.
"You'll be safe Tommy, I won't let anything take you from me." Tubbo said in a sleepy voice as he patted Tommy on the head "See you in the morning big man."
With that Tommy quickly fell asleep hugging one of Tubbo's fingers and genuinely feeling safe, well Tubbo slowly climbed out of his bed and got onto his laptop starting to do some research. He was going to keep his promise and make sure nothing could ever take Tommy from him.
Tubbo was never going to let anything else take his family from him.

I have brain rot over your snake charmer au 🙃
Okie okie questions!!!!
1. So really wanna know, what kind of snake is Tommy and what kind of mouse is Wilbur???? I needs too know!!!
2. Me after ch 2. Dropped :0000 MORE CHARACTERS!!!! Could we get a bit of an idea of what the others look like and if they’re also mouse hybrids?
3. Did Tommy pick up Wilbur’s lute when he took off or is it just back at the berry bush vibing?
4. Can we get a lil bit of world building for what the village looks like? Tis shrouded in mystery atm just curious if it’s like all kinda enclosed with walls or like part of trees etc.
As you can tell, can’t get enough of your au! Have a lollipop as token of my appreciation 🍭
A/n: thank you very much for the lollipop it was wonderful<3
CW: snakes, insects, and rodents pictured below.
1. Tommy is based off of a Blood red corn snake! They have beautiful red scales and are constrictors. They’re diet consists of small animals like rodents, birds, or insects :)
Tumblr media
Wilbur is based off of a curly brown mouse. He loves to upkeep his hair and it’s extremely soft. This is also the reason he’s not the most athletic.
Tumblr media
2. Techno is a hog-nosed rat. He’s definitely a lot more strong and has some bulk to him. He also had his to protruding teeth that he is quite proud of and even decorates them with jewelry he makes.
Tumblr media
Philza is a common starling. He was one of the only survivors of the past village, but he was only a small child when it happened. He has worked and always cared for the new village and eventually became the leader. He adopted Wilbur and Technoblade when they were small. Phil takes great care of his wings and even taught his boys how to help him preen them. They always loved touching their dad’s wings.
Tumblr media
Ranboo is a panda bat who loves to eat from flowers but has trouble seeing far away due to his poor eyesight.
Tumblr media
Niki is based on a rosy maple moth. She sends most her time baking and hanging out with Jack.
Tumblr media
Jack is based on a common shrew. He spends most his time with niki and he loves to go around and entertain people. He’s also apart of the guard but he’s not the greatest soldier, he just joined because he figured it get him more popular.
Tumblr media
Also Tubbo wasn’t mentioned but he’s a Bumblebee hybrid! (of course) He can be found with Ranboo or in his workshop most of the time.
Tumblr media
3. Tommy definitely went back for Wilbur’s lute and the forgotten basket of berries. Wilbur will reunite with them soon enough. :)
4. The village is hidden away in a small clearing surrounded by thick bushes and large trees. The village ranges from the forest floor to the very top of the trees. Shops and homes are carved into the trees themselves and there are plenty of more underneath the earth too, in burrows and carved into rock. In the center of the clearing is the largest tree that consists mostly of the guard and the main support and teams of the village. The village consents of a large amount of tiny hybrids who have all come here to be safe and be free from the dangers of the outside world. There are secret tunnels underground, paths through the trees and symbols on ground level to lead people in and out of the village.

...New AU
(I have only watched Niki's things twice but I will kill for her)
Niki is bio sibling to Ranboo and Foster sibling to Tommy and Tubbo.
Niki and Ranboo's parents left them and they end up in Tommy and Tubbo's house, who were neglectful to them.
Niki cares for all the kids but is often yelled at by Tommy and Tubbo's bio parents (no DSMP characters, mostly cause I need DSMP fluff)
Niki takes all three of her brothers and run.
Ages for the boys is four and five... probably (look I like the idea of giants dealing with babies)
Niki would be sixteen
She runs until she's far in on the other side of the forest, and that's when she found it.
Giants (they're aliens visiting Earth)...
Avoiding being stepped on Niki makes it on their ship, unfortunately for her they were leaving Earth.
Tommy was the one to get them caught, being the most vocal, caught the attention of the man with wings.
The bird man, Philza, interacted with humans in the past (Mumza) and knew what to do about communication.
He warned Technoblade and Wilbur about their passengers and gave them a quick crash course about interacting with them.
Mumza isn't a board the SBI and is currently with Puffy and her crew, she'll meet Niki and the boys soon.
Niki takes a while to warm up to the aliens, come on their like a hundred feet tall.
Surprisingly it's with Technoblade she shows the first ounce of trust to by asking him to watch the trio so she could have a nap.
The SBI crew adore all the children, Niki included because she's fifteen, and tries to spoil them.
Philza regularly nests with them all and makes the ship tiny friendly.
There is angst in this AU, but more down the line with the exception of a few stragglers.
DSMP members are all friends and/or get along but there will be Dream angst there.

Mag... magic...
Anyway, here's wonderwall.
...
Pin Point
Tw for talks of torture, needles, swearing, and a panic attack
...
Tubbo looked at the gash in his hand, burnt and straight through his palm. When Wilbur meant torture...
Needles, iron. While Tubbo was bored of the lantern, he shivered at the thought of Wilbur pulling him out by force, electrifying every vein of magic.
Tubbo felt weaker and weaker everything he made it past the barrier, he was gradually getting dimmer. While curious, he didn't want to be the one to find out what happens when a fairy light goes all the way out.
But as time went on, he felt his very being shrivel away.
Looks like fading away might come sooner than he realized.
But Tubbo was awake. Even though he was fucking exhausted, fairies could not be unconscious unless they were like, on the brink of death. He watched Wilbur sleep, the wizard looked SO peaceful when he wasn't threatening and torturing.
Hmmm... Hmm... hm
Fuck OFF. The necklace was still buzzing.
There was a scuttering noise. It very well might be his imagination, but just in case Tubbo looked over to the wall weakly.
"Tubbo- kid!"
"How do we know he's a kid? He could be an old man in fairy years-"
"Fuck off-"
The two... people squabbled a bit more as Tubbo tried to comprehend what was going on. In front of him were two people his Suze who had just crawled out the walls, one with orange hair and ears like a fox and the other with pink hair and antenna like a moth.
"Tubbo," pink ignored the other. "We're getting you out of here. The knight's name is Tommy."
Tubbo blinked back. What?
Some sort of weight had been lifted off Tubbo, as if he had been getting crushed for years. He pushed open the door on the lantern, feeling as though all the energy from the past day had been restored to him.
Of course, it hadn't actually. Logically, Tubbo knew he was just relieved about having his deal cut off. He was still very much experiencing the side effects and aftermath of a day's worth of torture.
Hmmm... hmm...
Tubbo cursed out the necklace, a little delirious, before fluttering over to the other two. The orange one pointed to the necklace.
"Go grab that," he instructed. The other started pulling it by the chain back into the wall. "I think that's what Ranboo-"
"Ranboo?!" Tubbo was wide awake now. "Where is he? Is he all right? What-"
"SH!" Orange shushed him quickly, taking his hand and going back into the wall. Pink followed behind. Wilbur had surprising slept through the entire thing.
The three ran through the walls, the two strangers making leaps and running faster than Tubbo had thought any non winged person could. While it wasn't necessarily fresh air, it was better than a lantern.
"You got him?" A third person asked as they got to a hollowed out part of the wall, almost like a room.
"A few burn marks," pink looked him up and down. "But they should be gone in a few hours as long as there's no more iron near him."
"Can I have all your names?" Tubbo asked all of them.
Orange started to speak, but the third one quickly covered his mouth. "No, but we can tell you them."
Tubbo snapped his fingers, annoyed. He'd be a disgrace of a fairy if he didn't at least try and trap these strangers in a deal.
Or... he was probably already a disgrace of a fairy for getting caught by a human.
"I am Eret," the third, Eret pointed to himself, then to pink and orange. "And these are Niki and Fundy. Sorry to rip you away from your friend... maybe?"
Tubbo paused for a second before crossing his arms. "Friends don't keep friends in lanterns."
"Right," Niki cut in, her antenna twitching a little. "We think he purposefully gave us his name to rescue you. We need to leave this place immediately, I don't thinkthe wizard will be happy when he wakes up. I've got the necklace, and Ranboo is in the other segment-"
"He's here?!" Tubbo gasped. "Can I stay by him?"
Eret grimaced, putting a hand on Tubbo's shoulder. "Of course we wanted to reunite you two, but you need rest-"
"Fairies don't need rest," Tubbo fluttered up and down, buzzing in excitement. "Please. Just let me be with him."
The borrowers all exchanged a glance before Fundy led Tubbo up to where Ranboo was staying. He say beside the pile of scraps, watching his only friend's breath rise and fall.
"We'll leave in the morning." Fundy nodded, climbing back down to the main room.
Tubbo leaned against the walls, closing his eyes. It was times like this that made him with he could sleep.
...
Ranboo took a deep breath, still unconscious. A weight felt lifted off his chest, he felt safer, warmer. It was quieter as well, as he drifted into a peaceful sleep rather than a strifeful one.
...
Wilbur got up out of bed, the sky still dark. His compass was not pointing north.
He went over to the couch where Phil decided he wanted to sleep silently waking the artificer up.
"Wil, it's like... three am..." Phil yawned.
The wizard held up the compass, suppressing a laugh. His night was sleeping right on the other couch.
"That little knat escaped like I thought he would," Wilbur had the biggest smile. "And now I know where the mice are hiding."

The Royal Garden pt. 3
I stayed up really late last night to finish this chapter as I was really excited to get it out! Hope you guys Injoy! :D
-----------------------------------------------
Sapnap grumbled to himself as he walked into his room and started taking his armor off shaking the chicken feathers out of it, he really should have thought ahead with his chicken prank considering Niki was the person he was messing with- which is already a horrible idea considering how terrifying she was.
The raven hair knight started changing due to a pair of clean clothes since he still had some rounds you had to make around the castle before Sam would let him relax, Sapnap didn't really mind having to do extra work well Dream and Bad where out on a mission. Sapnap can easily get the gifts for his love bugs tomorrow if he didn't have time today, Karl and Quackity never mind waiting for there gifts as long as all three of them got to hang out and talk at night.
"Ooh Panda!" A quiet voice called out from underneath Sapnap's bed causing the half-demon to jump of it and slowly walk over to his bed sitting down next to it, he smiled noticing a tiny box wrapped with a pink bow.
Sapnap picked up the present inspecting "Hey dumplings! What's this gift for?" He slowly started unwrapping the present noticing there were two small objects inside of it.
"Me and Quackity made you some good luck charms!" Karl explained moving a bit deeper under the bed once Sapnap got closer, Quackity pulled him into a hug obviously getting nervous again with how close Sapnap was. The two borrowers watch the ribbon they had borrowed fall to the ground as Sapnap opened up his present.
"Aww it's a duck and frog! I'll make sure I keep these in my pocket when I go patrolling later." Sapnap slipped the two small wooden carvings into his pocket as he climbed up onto his bed and dangled one of his arms over the edge, hoping today might be the day his love bugs reveal themselves to him.

TinyHunt Side Story The Mer from the ocean
Tw: Some swearing, Fear, Safe Vore, comfort, extreme angst, slight gore (like a bit of blood and a death mention and description of a semi-important character. WC: 3.6K-ish
Wilbur was just enjoying another boating trip, sailing away into the ocean in hopes of catching some fish. He would’ve loved to be out here with his 10 year old son Fundy, but he wasn’t the biggest fan of fishing. “Why would anyone want to sit in the middle of a big pool of water waiting to catch something, only to let it go?” He phrased it when asked if he wanted to go. Wil had hoped that after taking him several times he’d be able nurture his son to have a love for fishing.
But evidently, that didn’t happen. Instead he had to leave him with one of his friends, Puffy. He sighed, he really enjoyed fishing, it left him alone with his thoughts. He wondered if he was even doing the right thing, did he have any real knowledge on how to raise a kid? He had no idea. That was when his hook caught on something.
Sally wasn’t so sure about this. “Niki, are you sure this is safe?” Sally shouted at the rapidly retreating back of the mer. Niki simply turned her head and nodded. “Yeah, I promise nothing bad’ll happen, I’ve done this loads of times!” Sally wasn’t sure if that was better or worse. She has no idea why Niki would put herself into needless danger, especially considering that she was small. “I mean, at least I can grow in size if I’m caught, but what will you do?” Niki frowned at her as they neared the bottom of the Fisherman’s boat. “What? Do you think that just because you can Sizeshift, that means that I can’t take care of my self?” Sally stammered after that, “T-that’s n-not what I mea-“ Niki laughed.
“I know what you meant, don’t worry, I’m just messing with you. Watch this.” And Niki touched the hook, well, actually the line just above the hook. Then it started to move. “Um, Niki?” Sally started, “Don’t worry Sally, it’s fine, I’ve done this a hundred times and I know that Fishermen are usually always preoccupied with their thOUGTS!!” Sally watched in horror as the hook caught around their arm, just barely piercing it and forcing her up to the surface. “No!” She cried trying to swim up to her, but the human was too fast, and Niki was yanked out of the water.
Wilbur went ahead and did what he normally did when he got a catch. He let the thing flop onto the deck, and then he’d pick it up, inspect it, and release it. Only, this time was different. “What the fuck?!” He shouted in awe as he noticed that the ‘fish’ was actually just a small person with a tail instead of legs. He instinctively picked up the small female and asked “Are you alright?” In response, the tiny fish girl shrieked and tried to get out of his hands. It was like holding onto a bar of soap, and he almost dropped her several times as she flailed about. At least she was getting dry, Wil thought before realizing that that was probably a bad thing.
“Put. Her. Down.” Sally commanded to the back of the human after rising to the surface. Once she got over her fear, and tuned into her anger, she shifted to her human size. The human turned around, looking at her in awe. Damn, he looked… Never mind. He was wearing a yellow shirt with dark brown messy hair, there was a beanie but it was left abandoned on the floor of the boat. “Woah, who- or rather, what are you?” The human asked. “That, is none of your business.” Sally responded and gestured for the human to hand her Niki. “But, what if you hurt her?”
Sally was surprised, she had always thought that humans were evil, everymer thought they were. “Um, no, I won’t, she’s my friend. Right Niki?” Niki took a second to respond, as she was shaking like a leaf, and her tail was already disappearing in place of legs. “U-u-um, y-y-yea, Sally i-is my f-friend.” The human instead of putting the tiny mer into Sally’s hands, instead put her into the water. “What’s your name?” Initially Sally didn’t respond, thinking that the Human was talking to Niki, before realizing that he already knew Niki’s name.
“Oh, my name is Sally.” Sally, that was a very nice name. Wilbur wasn’t sure why, but he thought that Sally was beautiful. Of course he’d never say that to her face, she seemed the type to punch anyone who said that to her in the face. “My name is Wilbur, Sally is a nice name.” Sally appeared to blush for a moment, but Wil pretended not to see. “Oh, thank you, Wilbur is a nice name too.” She replied awkwardly. “Oh, well, would you look at the time,” She pointed at the sun, “I really gotta be going.” She quickly went below the surface of the water and swam away. She did hear, though she tried to ignore it, the sound of Wilbur calling for her to stop.
“Hey, wait! Come back!” Wilbur asked the fish lady frantically as she swam away. He was upset that she had left so soon, but to be fair, she probably isn’t supposed to speak to humans. He’s seen The Little Mermaid, he knows what’s up. So, every day as often as he could, he came to see if she'd come back. It took a while, but one day as he was patrolling the water he saw her again. “Um, ahoy there!” He immediately wanted to slap himself, ‘Ahoy there’? How dumb was that! “Uhhh, not much how about you?” He was surprised that she had answered, he had fully expected her to swim off again.
“Nothin much, just fishin.” She wasn’t sure why she came back. She’d just been so interested in him. Things went by this way for quite a while, until one day Wilbur brought a guest to meet her. God damnit, well to be fair she never said to NOT bring anyone. But that didn’t mean she would surface for them. She did peak a bit over the surface to see who exactly Wil had brought. She saw a child, who was wearing a black jacket, with an interesting hat and orange hair.
“Dad, why did you make me come out here.” Fundy asked exasperated, Wilbur stared at his hair for a moment, then answered the question. “We are out here to meet someone.” Fundy looked at him questioningly and looked out for incoming boats presumably. Wil laughed, “Oh no, not a human.”
Sally blanched, what the hell was he doing.
“But, a mermaid, or something!” Then Wilbur gestured in the direction that Sally would normally emerge. “Umm, Sally?” Fundy was staring at him, probably gauging Wilbur’s sanity level. “Uhh, hold on a second son.” Wilbur leaned over the edge to see if he could spot Sally preparing to emerge, he hoped that she wasn’t too mad about him bringing his son. Granted after thinking it over a little more, it was a rather silly move. “Dad, you feeling okay?” Wilbur turned around and got Fundy’s hand on his forehead, checking his temperature. Wilbur pushed it away, “I’m fine Fundy, she just, didn’t show up today.” Fundy nodded, “Sure, whatever you say, Dad.”
“And the next thing you know, the Radishes will start talking too!” He finished in a slightly mocking tone. Wil just glared at him a bit, before turning the boat around and heading home. Fundy sighed and looked over the edge. His father had been going to the lake more often, he had been pretty sad over the years since Fundy’s mom died. He didn’t remember her too well, but the memories that his father told him were great and filled with joy. It wouldn’t have been outside the bounds of reality to think he may have gotten off of his rocker during this time. Then again, maybe that’s a good thing.
After all, these last few visits to the lake have left him happier than he’s been in a while, he even quit smoking. It was, nice to see Wil like this, considering that he’d never seen his dad like this before. He would try extra hard for Wil to not come on the fishing trips, whilst he did secretly enjoy them, he wouldn’t want to disturb his fathers delusions about their being some Mermaid lady. Eventually they reached shore, and Fundy’s 12, almost 13 year old mind could go back to thinking about normal kid things, like his first day of Middle School. (SideNote from author: Using my country’s education system, because f*ck my knowledge of the British one-)
Wilbur heated up some hot-pockets and set Fundy down in front of the TV. He sighed at the kitchen table watching Fundy. The kid deserves a better life than this, but, what else could Wil do? He went up to his room and stared at his guitar, many emotions flying by as he looked. Wonder and awe, for an instrument that could stir crowds, guilt for the lack of success in being a musician, and anger at where it had gotten him. He picks it up and absentmindedly strums along, that’s when an idea strikes him.
He should play Sally a song! It’d hopefully make her forgive him, if she actually is upset. He makes plans again immediately the next day to do so.
The next day…
Wilbur called Puffy to watch Fundy and left for the ocean again. He boated away and waited in their usual spot near the coral reef, strumming on his guitar whilst waiting. Eventually Sally emerged, she did look a tad bit pissed, but Wil hoped it’d be fine. “Wilbur Soot, you better have a good reason of why you thought it was a good idea to tell your son about me. And the existence of Mer’s in general.” Wilbur paused his strumming for a moment. He thought about it for only a moment or two before answering.
“Because I believe that you are magnificent, and that if we’re going to be friends, it’d be cool if you were to meet some of the other people who are close to me.” That was, a fairly flattering answer. So she decided that giving him another chance would be, something she’d rather want. “What’s that?” She asked gesturing to the strange device in his hands. He smiled wide after she asked, “Why this,” he said spinning it around in his hands all stylish. “Is my Instrument pour mon magnum opus, la musique!” He said in a different language, she looked at him questioningly. “Here, let me show you.” He then started plucking the individual strings in the device and it created a harmonious melody echoed through the ocean air.
“This is what’s called, a ‘guitar’.” Wilbur explained after finishing a 3 minuteish song. “You play that really well.” She commented making Wil blush just a bit. “Heh, I wish, I try to make money playing for the world. But, no one else seems to appreciate my music, except for you and my son. Thank you.” He heartfeltedly agreed. She felt bad for him, his music shouldn’t have flopped like that, granted she didn’t know really anything about what the Human World was like, but in the underwater land of Mer’s, he would probably be beloved.
They talked for a bit longer, and eventually Wilbur had to leave again. But his talk of meeting other people got her thinking. Just meeting the people he cared about wouldn’t be enough, she’d have to VISIT the land of the humans if she wanted to get closer with him. So, the first chance she’d get, she’d stowaway on his boat and greet him inside of his own home. Wilbur came by again as usual, she was a bit quieter this time while he talked a bit more about his life and how he was excited to move to a new place with his Son soon.
(He reassured her that they’d still be close by.) And that was about it. They said goodbye, the way they always do. But instead, this time Sally after going underwater shrunk in size, and swam to where Niki was hiding. “Niki, I’ll be gone for a bit, cover for me.” And darted back to the underside of the boat, she could vaguely hear Niki shouting for her to wait, but she ignored it and after carefully climbing on board, she dried off and gained her legs and was officially stuck tiny. The special thing about Sizeshifters is that when they get dry, they are permanently stuck small until they get wet with water again. So she was putting her full trust into Wil. So that was terrifying.
She settled with hiding beside his bag and would hide inside once they got back to shore. She waited and watched Wilbur in awe as his Giant form towed back to shore. She was still terrified, but she trusted Wilbur a decent amount. They hit shore fairly quickly and she went inside the bag and tried to hang on as Wil jostled her around when moving the bag. It took a bit, but after a short walk, a short drive and an opening of a front door, but they were finally at Wilbur’s dwelling, an apartment. Wilbur dismissed Puffy from her duties, and set his bag in his room and left to get Fundy some food.
She crawled out of the bag and took a second after being shaken up quite a bit and waited for Wil to come back in. He finally did and sat on his bed strumming his guitar without really paying attention. “You play that really well, I hope you do make it.” She said aloud, Wilbur’s eyes widened as he looked around the room before his eyes landed on Sally’s small form. He got up and walked over. “S-sally?” He asked as he stared in awe at her small form. While she did trust him, it was still terrifying to be under his gaze when she was smaller than one of his fingers. His hand twitched a bit, obviously wanting to pick her up, but to her relief he didn’t.
“But, don’t you need to be in water? And how are you small?!” He asked trying to be quiet. “I’m what’s called a sizeshifter, to answer as to how I’m small. When I’m wet I can change my size at will. But when I’m dry I’m stuck at a small size.” She explained, “Also, all Mer’s can be dry, they just turn to a human or borrower form when on land and dry.” Wilbur looked at her face filled with questions, or maybe just one more. “What is a borrower?” Sally thought for a moment. “I think if I remember correctly that humans usually call them tinies? I’ve heard that they don’t like talking in front of humans.”
After Wilbur got used to both her small size and her being in his house they talked a bit more, with her asking plenty of questions about the human world. Eventually, Wilbur’s son knocks on the bedroom door. “Dad? Who are you talking to.” Wilbur tenses for a moment. “Sal’s, is it okay if I can pick you up and show you to Fundy?” Wil asked as gently as he could. Sally hesitated, she trusted Wil but didn’t really want to put her life in his hands, literally. Staring into his eyes though, she saw a kind person who would never hurt her. So she nodded, and resisted the building panic attack as his hand approached. Though he didn’t wrap his fingers around her form.
No, he instead set his hand down beside her and waited for her to walk on. After giving herself a pep talk, she walked wobbly onto the fleshy surface. It was, strange to say the least. The skin was a bit pillowy and sunk down a little under her weight. Wilbur waited for to give the okay before moving his hand. Once they started moving, the massive fingers curled over her head to protect her. And not once did she feel trapped during this, Wilbur opened the door and said “Hey Fundy, I’ve got someone to show you.” Fundy sighed. “Is this about your imaginary girlfriend again?” He asked exasperated. “Kinda.” Wilbur said presenting Sally to Fundy. “Heya kid.” Sally waved at him. Fundy’s face did a few things at once. It looked confused, in awe, questioning, and happy all at the same time.
“Woah, is that a Tiny?” Fundy asked his father as Wil showed him the small female. “Nope! It’s a Mer!” He exclaimed as he stared with a certain expression on his face as he stared at the small life in his hands. “Wil, I don’t mean to burst your bubble, but that doesn’t look like a mermaid.” Fundy pointed out. “Well, maybe not now, but whenever she gets wet she does!” Fundy nodded still in awe at the sight of the small woman.
Sally ended up staying with the two overnight, and in the morning Wil went to go drop her off in the ocean. And they talked for a bit afterwards too. This time Wil asked a bit about Mer Biology. Sally explained how at the beginning of a Mer’s life they were really small and couldn’t breathe underwater, which led to the pouches that Mer’s had inside themselves where they could store anything, more specifically their offspring before they could breathe in their own underwater. She even talked about the special Colossal Mer’s who were way bigger than the normal Mer’s.
She talked a bit about their king, King Foolish and his mysterious connection to some mystical deity’s. Wilbur asked her which Deity she meant, but she had no clue who he speaks to in private. Eventually she worked up to the big question, of whether or not she could go live with them. She explained that there was a special process that Mer’s could go through, that would allow them to live on the surface in secret if they so desired. There were a few people who have done it, one of the most prominent ones being Squid Kid.
“Yeah, I’d love for you to come live with us!” Wilbur exclaimed excitedly after being asked. And so it was done. Sally requested permission from the king to go live on the surface, and was given the proper identifications to live up there without arousing suspicion. Once she got up there, the first thing he did was search for Wil, but she then realized that Wil had probably gone out to the ocean to see her. So she went out there, and there was a storm brewing , literally. Apparently Wilbur Soot and not checked what the weather would be for today.
Once she got far out enough she noticed that Wil had been blown considerably far out and was in danger of being drowned. She could hear him cut out for help. It scared her quite a bit. Once she got close enough, she realized that she could barely control herself in the water, she had to grow. And grow she did to a massive size, the size of a Colossal Mer. She lowered herself down to Wil’s level and whispered sweet nothings to him to calm him down as she cupped him in her hands from the already sinking boat.
“Do you trust me!” She asked Wil as she held his fragile life in her palms, he nodded for lack of being able to speak, either out of fear of her, or fear of the storm. She realized that she would be unable to get her out of the storm alive, the only way out would be if she put him in her pouch. So as carefully as possible, she placed him in her mouth. He landed on her tongue in a very panicky matter, it was obvious immediately that he had forgotten their discussion on the existence of pouches.
Wilbur was scared out of his mind, he could barely think straight after landing in the giant pink muscle that his brain refused to acknowledge was a tongue. He tried frantically to crawl away from the dark hole that lay at the back of the mouth. But it was futile, as he was dragged down by both tongue and the muscles of Sally’s throat, Sally the Mer, Sally who he thought he could trust. He cried a bit as the throat forced him down nearly suffocating him, before landing in the pit that he knew was probably her stomach. He curled into a ball and thought about his son, who he’d probably never see again, and about his Wife, who had died after cheating on him. He never told anyone about the exact details of how she died.
He had found her in bed with another man by the name of Jared in another apartment after recognizing her car. He confronted her to which she broke up with him and wandered out into the street and walked near the cold water. “Wait! Please come back!” He yelled after her as he gave chase, she turned around, and lost her footing. He attempted to catch her and pull her up, but she fell down down into the cold water. He called the police in hopes of them being able to save her, but instead of waiting he jumped in to chase after her. It was, so cold… He tried and he tried and was eventually able to find her and bring her to the surface to the awaiting paramedics.
But all that was left of their relationship and her life, was a Saline Solution of blood and tears. After recalling this depressing time of his life, he realized that he wasn’t dying, and wasn’t dead. He felt Sally gently rubbing her stomach where he was curled up, to which he remembered their discussion about Mer pouches. And the amount of joy it brought him to know he wasn’t dead yet was immeasurable. After they got to a safe place presumably Sally talked to him.
“Hey, are you alright in there?” She asked patting her pouch. “Yeah, little freaked and grossed out, but otherwise okay!” He shouted out to her in a joking tone. She chuckled a bit. “So when do you think I can get out?” “As soon as the weather clears Mister Soot.” Once she regurgitated him back up, she walked him home through the light rain at normal human size she kept her legs dry though so she could still walk. They entered their home, and she offered to help Wilbur finish packing. One week later, and they were a happy family, living in a new neighborhood. After they finished unloading all their junk, Wil pointed out some smoke from the house next door, suggesting it was a barbecue. And so they went next door as a happy family to see what was going on…
