Hi hello - so i have a wild ask here for you. So I randomly, truly randomly, decided to listen to my GG playlist today at the gym for the first time in three years??? Anyway reminded me of how good that show was at music and how good you were at finding the songs.

But goddamnit I really underestimated how difficult narrowing this down to FIVE SONGS lmao. I'm gonna try to come up with a mix of vibes/character pairings in the scenes the songs are associated with (it's requiring a LOT of restraint to not list only bangers hahahaha)

i’m just going to quickly dissect the moments that made me so normal about the scene with sanji and zoro in episode 1057:

- they decided to focus on zoro getting hit because he got distracted picking up the transponder snail. this just before he tells sanji to not bother him. but as soon as he hears what he has to say, he gasps. he’s shocked. it’s like his synapses just stop for a moment. and his reaction to the request “you must kill me”  is to burst back, full force, and shout. which reflects how he feels about the request i think

- this is actually such an intense response that sanji has to call him back to reality right after

- zoro’s delivery of the line “you better not die till then” is not shouted as it appears to be in manga, but a lot softer yet still determined. which i think changes the tone of the scene and overall makes it a lot more intimate

- as someone probably already pointed out, what sanji says at the end of the scene is not your typical “thanks” as it was subbed, but in japanese that specific expressions means “sorry to burden you”. which reflects sanji’s personality a lot and his awareness that he’s not asking just anything out of zoro

- finally the parallel transition showing both of them with their back towards the viewer, hinting at the fact that they’re both looking at the future ahead of them and how they both know they will be facing it all together no matter what happens

Home sweet grave is kind of funny because the little synth sections sound like something from Sonic adventure 2 chao racing, but having actually *listened* to the song while I was cutting that combo video I think I'm gravepilled. It's like actually a good song. I never expected this.

I caved and started watching some of the "homework" movies my one coworker told me I had to watch to gain back my Halloween street cred.

Insidious 1 and 2 are... well they had some ghosts in it. I donno, I just couldn't get in to them. And I even had the right setup for it too: home alone, late at night, lights off. The soundtrack was too assaulting, there were some interesting concepts but the plot was threadbare, all held up by wafer-thin characters. I had so many questions.

Meh, not my cup of coffee. Any good spooky flick suggestions?

heh thanks, I likethis one. This is a wip I'm not still 100% I'll post, but it's about 80% done atm. Tldr, it's another deadset au (i'm so sorry for being that person guys) inspired by the Death Note Musical English concept soundtrack

MXY leaves a note when he dies for WWX to find, and through misunderstandings WWX believes that the Golden Ghost was responsible for the Sunshot campaign, the siege of the Burial Mounds, and the 'death' of Wen Yuan. He is not a happy bunny. Screw finding out why he's back, he needs to find out its identity because he needs revenge. (Except it can't be that simple of course, because finding out an identity doesn’t lead nicely to a corpse, and it’s a bad idea to piss off a ghost)

Wei Wuxian wakes up in a barn, confused, memories of his own death swimming just behind a wall he refuses to break, angry cuts etched deep into his skin, and aches deep in his bones that are from more than just a ritual- to find a note.

It states quite clearly, ‘you should kill them before the Golden Ghost comes looking. He’s bitter.’ Then, below, scribbled a little more hastily. “He’s real.”
