WHAT IS IT?

Good Girls Appreciation Week 2022 is seven straight days of dedicated fans creating and sharing new content showing their love for the show. Each day of the week has a specific theme voted by fans to interpret as creatively as they like!

I don't know about you guys, but life has been more depressing than usual lately and Good Girls gives us an escape. Let's have some fun with this!!

Everybody! Creators create, and the larger fandom boosts those creations with likes and (especially!) reblogs to spread the joy.

It’s a great time for people that have thought about trying their hand at content creation to give it a go!

HOW DO I PARTICIPATE?

You can participate as much or as little as you like. If just one day speaks to you, create content based on that theme. Post it on the allotted day with the designated hashtag, and boom, you’ve participated!

Several people have already expressed interest in what kind of content they’d like to contribute, but there’s no official sign-up. You can lurk for a few days, get a feel for it, and then post, or you can start planning and creating now, waiting for the official week to post.

WHAT ARE THE RULES?

I know rules are lame but we have to make this thing a somewhat official thing somehow 😂. There are 6 important rules of #ggaw2022 so that we see a #GGAW2022 post when we see it:

Keep it positive! This means when you’re focusing on your love of A, B, or C, you avoid tearing down X, Y, and Z in the process.

Spread the love! Like the posts you see and encourage content creators, old and especially new! Hit that reblog button a little more often. The fandom benefits when we support each other and encourage newbies to try their hand at creating something. Let creators know what you think they’ve done especially well by leaving positive tags and/or dropping a note in their inbox!

Use the designated hashtag! Tag all posts #ggaw2022 so that anyone following the tag can see all the new content as its uploaded.

Use headings or captions! Try to use a heading or caption that alludes to which day you are posting for, e.g. “Day 2: Favorite Location - The Park.”

Post within your timezone! The days last a little longer here in Good Girls Land where time is fake and everyone counts on their fingers! Don't worry about calculating numbers—the day starts at 12:01 am and ends at 11:59 pm in whatever timezone you happen to be in.

Do your best! Try your best to post by the designated day, but remember: this is supposed to be fun. If you miss the designated day but are still really inspired to make or finish something for it, share it anyway!

WHAT TYPE OF CONTENT SHOULD WE SHARE?

Literally anything that makes you feel some sort of way. Gifsets, videos, photo manipulations & edits, moodboards, drabbles or short fics, imagines, metas, fanart, playlists, and whatever else you can think of! Wanna make a cross-stitch pattern and share it with the rest of us? Wanna make a list of GG-inspired recipes? Want to make a movie poster? Go for it!

WHAT ABOUT PROMPTS?

The survey showed me how many ideas y'all have for this so we'll try this! Submit them to my inbox (@peachraindrops) anon or not, whatever feels best, and I'll post them all in an inspiration post a week from today, July 20th, 2022 in an aggregated (and nameless!) list. The prompts will be used for creators to draw inspiration from and maybe even hit a few of your favorite things!

FINALLY:

We all want to see these themes the way you interpret them! Again, the more creative, the better. In the end, I just hope this brings a little bit of joy back into everyone's lives because that's what we need right now, right?!

How funny is it that in 3rd Life Scar befriended nearly everyone and almost won

Now he’s forced to be the villain and even said himself he had given up making friends and leaning into it

Yet across the whole episode he was hanging with BDubs.

He was giving string, gunpowder, advice, warnings, to everyone he came across.

Diffusing bombs with BDubs

Waiting up for others as they were actively chased by a warden.

Offering his revenge to Joel to give him- his potential competition- more hearts.

He was willing to let Pearl get a SECOND win.

Even if it was just his plan to betray in the end, he still chose to help instead of going totally berserk like he definitely could have, seeing as he had multiple plates of revenge to dish out.

He made himself a monopoly of friendship and won this time.

i’m rewatching gilmore girls again (shocker) i’m on s5 rn and i’m just. consistently taken aback by how much i adore rory. like she’s so sweet and lovely and charming. she loves the people in her life with everything she’s got and is always trying her fkn hardest. i love that she has a baby voice and giant blue eyes and freckles. i love that she makes the shittiest decisions possible when it comes to her love life. i love how well-intentioned she is and how whenever she makes a mistake she always works to fix it. i love how she rambles and reads 5000 books a day and catches people off-guard with dirty jokes because she’s normally so soft-spoken and polite. she is constantly trying to prove herself to everyone around her and she always glows whenever someone praises her. she is her mother and her grandparents and the citizens of stars hollow all rolled up into one neurotic, intelligent, wonderful being and she’s kinda having an identity crisis 24/7 and i wanna be her best friend so bad. she’s kind and selfless and loving and warm. she’s the definition of a comfort character. she’s so relatable for so many people and she means so much to me. i actually started crying while writing this. rory leigh gilmore i am in love with u.

No Airport Greetings Please!

Since GG is on his way to Milan, I just want to take a moment to urge anyone in the Milan area to please do not go to the airport to meet GG when he arrives. He has repeatedly stated that he does not want fans to meet him at the airport. That has been a rule of his for years and years. Please respect his wishes.

There will be plenty of opportunity for you to meet him in the street for his public appearances at Fashion Week.

This is our opportunity as international fans to show that we are listening, and that we respect him. It is the best possible welcome we could give him as his fans.

When he left the airport at Shanghai there were a lot of people there crowding him, and he got very angry and even yelled at them. For him to yell like that, he has to be pretty angry.

i kind of have a question that's been there in the back of my head for a long time. but before i get into it, i just wanna say both lorelai and jess are my favorite characters. i see so much similarities between them to a point where it pushes me to ask this question. we all know how much of a deal the fandom makes out of jess leaving rory in s3, without proper communication. obviously, jess was in the wrong. he should have apologized to rory and should have properly broken up with rory before leaving stars hollow. i agree with all of that. rory deserved better. people demonize jess for that, yet when lorelai did it to max, it's fine? lorelai does not get enough slack for it, AT ALL? she abandoned max at the morning of their wedding without a single word, ended the relationship without speaking to him and follows him around again in s3 acting like the victim? lorelai was a whole adult who just did it because she did not feel like it, at the last moment. while jess leaving SH had more to do with his problems than rory? he was also at a point where luke did not approve of him living there anymore? his dad came to visit out of nowhere for the first time in his life. also, not graduating school made jess feel more of a failure compared to rory? jess leaving had lot more nuance to the situation than lorelai's case. i do agree both lorelai and jess should have absolutely communicated. but, i find the double standards in the fandom very strange. (Again, i love both of these characters and rory too) i would just like to know some of your opinions about it.

That guy yelled at her for hanging out with her friends. He was so paranoid and insecure that every guy rory ever hung out with was a so-called rival who he hated so much. All he cared about was rory spending time with him even if it meant compromising with her dreams (Harvard). And again, he yelled. Every. Single. Time. He yelled before asking her to explain.

Jess asked her first (without any yelling) if she was hanging out with her EX. If she was going to the carnival with him and if she was at miss Patty's with him. ASKED NOT YELLED. He did not come to conclusions ever.

The thing is people have to understand that jess came from a messed up family. Dad abandoned him, mom sent him away. This man should have had serious trust and abandonment issues but he didn't atleast not with rory. Not even tho he knew that Dean was her first love and he might never be one. He trusted her completely. He trusted her enough to fall in love with her and tell her that.

But Dean was such a baby. Acc to him his family was normal. No truly sad bits. he did not have a single reason for his trust issues. All he had were anger issues.
