Father Brown (2013) The Man in the Tree
Father Brown welcomes visiting German priest Father Frank but returning from the station they encounter an injured man, stripped to his underwear who has been thrown from a train. Suspicion falls on prostitute Annie Mace, who was travelling on the train though she is given an alibi by scrap dealer Christie Nolan. Then Lady Felicia's chauffeur Sid comes into the frame when it turns out that he stole the victim's wallet. In solving the crime and determining who is telling the truth the father also has to combat anti-German prejudice among his flock.

#Thomas being mad at Henry for not letting them go see Hal is so good
I have a headcanon that when Thomas saw baby Blanche for the first time he was like, “I’ve only known Blanche for three seconds but if anything happened to her I would kill everyone in this room and then myself” (which was quite disconcerting given he was only five years old). Imagine that and then imagine him finding out about what happens to Blanche in Germany.
There may be no historical evidence to support it, but for writing purposes at least it is very important to me that everyone is extremely upset about Blanche all of the time, and it subsequently impacts all of their actions

today I learned that my something-great grandmother sold bathtub gin to Dutch Schultz during prohibition, and that the Irish cops would protect her sons along the way when they took the subway to sell the gin to the black nightclubs and bars in Harlem

I want to tell y'all this thing I've been working on for my Webseries Story Development class in college and that I've ascended beyond mere fandom status; In the past few months, I’ve been developing a film series about a sad miserable priest! It’s heavily inspired by FAITH, The Exorcist (1973), and my own personal experience in High School and you’ll see why.
Tumblr media
The story follows a young priest named Father Edwin Maramis transferred to teach in a school after his first exorcism failed and killed an entire family which traumatized him deeply. He’s pulled back into exorcism after finding out there are many cases of demon activities in that school that went unnoticed to the public’s eye cause the school is actually a cover up for a cult trying to summon a powerful demon and it uses the students there as sacrifices and vessels. It's up to Father Edwin to uncover this cult and stop it before they kill more of his students
In a week, I'm going to pitch it to a few Indonesian streaming services, so fingers crossed my pathetic priest show gets greenlit

I was talking to family about the traditional food we make for holidays and it got me thinking about Yhwach’s army.
It makes me wonder, what foods taken from the old Quincy kingdom have they kept and what would be regarded as essentially immigrant fair if that kingdom still stood to judge.
Like, a lot of Yhwach’s army are from more modern times. I can imagine they’re being fed food that is said to be very traditional, old country staples. But, names change & so do recipes. The amount of legitimately old Quincy seem like a handful from what I gather from the manga.
And that’s not even bringing into the fact that the Quincy kingdom was…a kingdom. And would very well have had regional takes on various dishes. So, if the only survivors are from a certain region, then that is the only surviving recipe.
Like, their culture so incredibly frozen in time yet barren. Yhwach has overseen the rise and fall of a people but like, does he give a shit to preserve things like that? Does he really care about the culture he’s preserved in ice, only to thaw it out again for a war.
They were killed off 1000 years ago. 200 years ago. Who knows if it’ll happen again if the Quincy that survived TYBW decide to try and rebuild, even peacefully.
At this point, do they even have dishes they can pull out for holidays and flag as traditional? Will there be enough of them left to remember those things? Or are they just gone and erased by Yhwach & Yamamoto and their dueling egos on who gets to say what the afterlife will be.
I’m sure this made no sense but in my brain, it was cohesive.

Not me finally getting the courage to go to my parish's weekly confessional time only for noone, not even a priest, to be there😭
I may have cried some tears of frustration after being so close to receiving our Eucharistic Lord again and not being able to
