it seems like website building is about to have a boom, let me share my favorite resource of all time!!
this is a website packed to the brim with website building goodies , including a website layout maker that is the easiest and most user friendly maker i’ve encountered! perfect for creating your own neocities (it’s free!!) , the code even has helpful tips in it for those new to html/css!
i also recommend w3schools.com for quick and easy to follow chunks of html/css tutorials! gifcities is a goldmine for old neocities era gifs, and blinkies cafe is perfect for making your own blinkies!
i can’t wait to see everyone’s websites in the coming weeks and months! remember, it’s fine to take it slow and let it look silly, that’s always been the point of websites like this :]
ps check out our neocities and feel free to drop yours in the replies :]
I have no idea of how interested people in here would be in this kind of stuff, but I recently started trying to find some old YGO websites on the Wayback Machine (like Geocities stuff from the very early 2000s plus some news sites and some peoples' personal blogs) and started putting some archive links to them on Fanlore!
It's not all of the ones I found, but I tried putting only ones that were still kinda readable (some had some stuff on WM but were too broken).
There is some cool stuff in there, I recomend some exploring to anyone who was in the fandom back then and wants to reminisce about it, or is just curious like me to see how people did fandom stuff before all fandoms kinda migrated to the same 7 sites.
Here are some pictures if anyone wants an idea of the kind of stuff you can find there:
There is something sobering about reading a fic that hasn't been updated in years, and then clicking over to the author's profile to find that it's the last thing they updated....they didn't switch fandoms or anything, they just stopped posting altogether.
i love finding old web graphics and i love evanescence so i combined the two back in december and created archivescence! i'm always adding onto it and trying to find sources for all of them (graphics with sources are linked back to their respective websites/owners) and there's also a page dedicated to other websites about the band! i think i'll add a page for old interviews/articles eventually too ^_^
EDIT: someone said they were having trouble with the link so if it doesn't work try copy pasting this! https://archivescence.neocities.org/
Hi! This is neocities-daily. Every day, I will post a neocities website for you to visit! :}
- How does this work?
If you want to recommend a site or want to share yours, send an ask providing an image of the site and the url. If you feel like it, you can add a short description or something you liked about the site.
Ask example:
Image: Homepage of a site. Anything personal, like tabs open, apps and the like has been cropped out.
This is url-example.neocities.org! It's a personal website focused on the webkeeper's pets. I like the little gifs it has.
Frequent questions:
• Can you submit multiple websites?
- Yes! But in separate asks, please.
• Can you submit sites that have been submitted before?
