‼️🇲🇽 American tourists in Mexico try to shut down restaurant in Jalisco because Mariachi music is “too loud”
🔸 Source: Fernanda Cortes
Jalisco is the birthplace of Mariachis, and their music has been around since the 17th century… y’all don’t get to come over and get rid of it 😭
If you’re a tourist in Mexico (and ANY other place) for god’s sake remember that you’re a TOURIST. You’re VISITING. You don’t get to come here and try to shut down restaurants and bandas because they annoyed you on your two week trip with the family.
If you’re coming to the culture you’ll find the culture, in case that isn’t obvious. If you’re really that annoyed by it, go to Cancún and Cabo San Lucas, as the video said. Or just stay home.

Question: how do Gotham villains keep getting access to all of these abandoned buildings? Are the just squatting? Getting loans? Are the buildings just super cheap? How are they getting so much real estate in a densely populated urban area?
Which begs another question: why does Bruce Wayne not just buy all these potential villain hideouts? Turn them into low rent high quality apartments? It would delay some of the villains at least, right?
If gentrification is a weapon, why doesn’t Bruce Wayne us it for good for once?!

Since this is a special issue that involves my country, I decided to be an axolotl for now, to better represent my country.
Before explaining the context of the situation, I want to clarify that this is NOT in favor of racism and much less discrimination, I'll only talk about WHAT MEXICO IS SUFFERING, because of our neighbors the Americans.
Well, lately many Americans have had the brilliant idea of coming to "vacation" in Mexico, and that's fine, Mexicans are very supportive of any foreigner, there are even foreigners who fall in love with my country and become Mexicans.
Unfortunately this is not always good, 'cause apparently our "friends" the Americans thought of coming to Mexico TO COMPLAIN ABOUT OUR COUNTRY!! Is seriously? It's not the first time it's happened, but for some reason I don't understand it seems to be getting stronger lately.
Call me crazy, but I think that if you go to a foreign country, YOU HAVE TO RESPECT that country and its customs. Well, the Americans don't do it, they want to ban our music and some customs in our own country, I don't know what makes them think they can do this to us!
This is called "GENTRIFICATION", and unfortunately it's becoming increasingly stronger, many Americans come to Mexico to make racist comments about our country and tell us what to do. WHAT THE MOTHERFUCKING IS WRONG WITH YOU!? My theory on this is maybe because these Americans who come are fucking poor in their country, and they think that seeing my Mexico is going to make them seem more "privileged."
And it's not like your USA welcomed us with "open arms", we already have enough of putting up with their  racist bullshit in their country, what makes them think that they can come and invade Mexico to do the same!?
This has already sadly happened in Japan, which is why Kyoto is no longer a tourist city, due to the gentrification that foreigners did previously (although in this case, they were not only Americans, but also from other countries).
RACISTS GRINGOS, IF YOU COME TO MY COUNTRY, YOU WILL RESPECT IT, PENDEJOS! AND IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, RETURN TO THE SEWER COUNTRY THAT YOU PRESUME PATRIOTISM SO MUCH! Don't get me wrong, I know that not all Americans are like that, but it seems that only racists and xenophobes are the only ones who come to invade my country, if you have someone you know who does this, don't follow their sample.

i dont necessarily think that rich people should stop shopping at thrift stores, but as a poor person it deeply irks me that it has become a trend.
it contributes to gentrification, making it more difficult for people to find cheap clothes etc, and it is intensely frustrating to me.

I like watching renovation shows. It's one of my guilty pleasures. It's trash tv & background noise.
It also helps when looking for rent houses when hunting for a place to live - because it shows you which homes are overly gentrified & to watch out if you recognize something from a show.
Because if they're DIYing stuff to look 'hip'. Be expecting shoddy work at best & future repairs to go the same way.
Because if it's cosmetically/aesthetically appealing you're more than likely going to subconsciously overlook things with the house. & it gives them an excuse to upcharge you for rent/purchase.
Anyway, I'm currently starting a show on Discovery+ called 'Houses with History'. Where they restore historical houses in Massachusetts.
There are two white aged hipster dudes (so far) as the show runners. & their intro was so whitewashed & colonialist centered. Because of course it is.
At this point my watching is morbid fascination & seeing what 'historical facts' they know about these individual homes.
& also because I used to help my dad & uncles restore mansions (poor day laborers) in Oklahoma. & as an adult I helped the Oklahoma County Historical Society rehabilitate historical properties. So I kinda wanna see how they fuckup the restoration of these places.
If it's interesting enough, I'm gonna have my wife @in-the-night-kitchen watch some of this with me.
