Diona predates the convention of "C6 is the on field DPS constellation for dedicated fans". But if we swap her C6 (200 EM buff from ult) for her C4, (inside her ult, Diona's charge time for aimed shots is reduced by 60%), we're halfway there — it's now at least Dori tier.
We just need some more damage boosting like Lynette's C6, or Nahida/Collei's extra hits. For freeze comps or [forward] Melt, extra hits would be more valuable... and the charged attacks niche is already very well covered by Ganyu.
So I propose that at C6, we make Diona into Cryo!Yoimiya.
Whenever an Icy Paw hits, (remember: 2 from tap, 5 from hold), Diona gains a stack of Callirhoe's Embrace, up to 5 stacks, lasting 15 seconds. One stack provides her with Cryo infusion and +20% Cryo DMG, and each additional stack increases normal attack DMG by 20%.
This can trigger off field, since Diona's E is a little slow and you might want to switch into Bennett first.
For a little more of her original survivability utility, we could also add:
Opponents hit by Icy Paws have their ATK decreased by 15% for 10s.
This would cement Diona's place as the second best Cryo archer in the game.

Arlecchino's Kit Simplified!
Bc this bitch’s (affectionate) kit is so goddamn complicated for no reason.
Because a lot of her kit revolves around Max HP, I've given her a hypothetical value of 30,000 Max HP to give a better idea of how her playstyle works. Of course, as far as I know Arlecchino doesn't have any minimum requirements in terms of her HP stat (like how certain characters are recommended to have 40k HP), so take my examples with a grain of salt. Obviously, if the amount of HP you give her is less or more than 30k, than the values of the Life Bonds will be different.
Combat
Normal Attack - Invitation to a Beheading
Arlecchino’s Normal Attack is the same as any other polearm user but there is a special addition to it. When she possesses a Bond of Life, or Life Bond, that is equal to or greater than 30% of her Max HP (in this case, the Bond would be worth at least 9k HP), she will enter the "Masque of the Red Death" state, in which her Normal, Charged and Plunging attacks will deal Pyro DMG. Additionally, when these Pyro-infused attacks hit an opponent, she'll deal extra damage scaling off her ATK multiplied by a certain ratio of her Life Bond percentage (don't ask me what this means - just know that a bigger ATK stat = more additional damage); this extra damage will also consume a small amount of her Bond, which will decrease her Skill cooldown by 0.8 seconds.
Elemental Skill - All is Ash
Her Skill deals Pyro DMG to multiple nearby enemies, before singling out one enemy and dashing towards them, dealing AoE Pyro DMG. As of this moment, it’s not clear if she automatically dashes forward if there’s only one nearby enemy. Opponents hit by her Skill will have the Blood-Debt Directive applied to them. The Directive lasts for 30 seconds and deals one instance of Pyro DMG to enemies affected by it every 5 seconds; strangely though it only deals a maximum of 2 instances of Pyro DMG instead of 6.
When Arlecchino performs a Charged Attack (it’s unclear if she has to hit the enemies with this attack) or uses her Elemental Burst, all nearby Directives will be absorbed, each one giving her a Life Bond worth 65% of her Max HP (at least 19,500). The maximum Bond value she gains from absorbing the Directives within 35 seconds of using her Skill is 145% of her Max HP.
Elemental Burst - Balemoon Rising
This deals AoE Pyro DMG, as well as heals Arlecchino, absorbs nearby Blood-Debt Directives and prematurely ends her Skill cooldown. The amount of healing she receives scales on her ATK stat and her current Life Bond value.
Passive
Agony Alone May Be Repaid
Arlecchino can gain a Life Bond worth 130% of her Max HP via her Skill in one of two ways: when she defeats an opponent marked by a Directive, or if you wait 5 seconds for the Directive to become a Blood-Debt Due, which can then be absorbed per usual.
These effects cannot exceed the 145% value limit of her Skill.
The Balemoon Alone May Know
While in combat, Arlecchino will gain a 40% Pyro DMG Bonus and can only be healed by her Burst, so it's best that you give her lots of Energy Recharge or pair her with teammates that can help with energy generation, like Raiden Shogun or a character with a Favonius weapon.
Strength Alone Can Defend
Arlecchino gains 1% Elemental and Physical resistance (RES) every 100 ATK over 1,000. For example, if she has 1,400 ATK, that will increase her RES by 4%. This effect caps at 20% RES increase (3k ATK).
Considering what we now know, it seems like Arlecchino's best rotation will be as follows: Skill -> Charged Attack or Burst -> Normal Attack -> . However, keep in mind this is my first time theorycrafting so I could be wrong. Hope this was helpful to you!

I made the dumbest (smartest!?!?) genshin rotation
So normally my rotations are pretty normal right
like uhh
Ara2ki Gang (my geo team) Kuki E -> Gorou Q E -> Albedo E -> Itto Q E na/ca's E na/ca -> REPEAT
Bubble Throuple (my hydro team) Kokomi E -> Xingqiu Q E -> Yelan Q E -> Kazuha E Q -> Kokomi Q na's -> REPEAT
Thundering Furry (that one EM razor team Zajef77 came up with) Razor Hold E -> Xingqiu Q E -> DMC Q E na1 -> Bennett Q E -> Razor Q E/na's -> repeat
but THEN
There's my QUICKEN TEAM (I call them quicket quartet!) and well nothing I did for them ever worked so today I came up with uh (tumblr doesn't have turquois so I'll use blue for kazuha:) (also magenta for fischl cuz uh-)
Keqing Held up E E plunge -> Fischl E -> Kazuha E Q -> Yaoyao E -> Keqing E Q E -> Kazuha E -> Fischl Q -> Keqing E E (Held up to plunge) -> Kazuha E Q -> Yaoyao E -> Keqing E Q E -> Kazuha E -> REPEAT
This took me 2 hours to make and test.
(not c6 fischl btw so it's a bit more tight) (c0 kazuha)
(Can't wait to get baizhu and replace yaoyao with baizhu which'll, according to my estimations, reduce team dps, but also baizhu provides that sweet sweet interruption resistance so like I can do a super crazy rotation consistently hehe I love thundering fury)

Traveler Rework
Despite their honorable status of a 5* character, the Traveler is currently at the level of rather unpopular 4* characters in terms of relevance, not counting the Dendro-element. It’s easy to understand why: if the standard character is already good, why do you need to get others? But even taking this into account, they must be worthy of being called a 5* Legendary. Let's look at the specific problems of each element, what are they and what should be improved so that the character become comfortable enough to play with.
Let's start with general things and then move on to each element specifically.
The very first thing that should be changed in Travelers' skills is to stop resetting the level of normal attacks with every new element. The name may change, but the level itself remains the same as when you leveled up the skill for the first time. Even from a logical point of view, this reset is meaningless. It would be justified, If with every new element came a new fighting style, but with the same one it simply looks absurd. (If this ever happens, return the spent materials, please, or just the same amount in mora equivalent)
Secondly, it’s burst costs. Make them all 60pt, like Anemo and Geo ones.
Now let's move on to skills. The order will be as follows: starting with the elements in which minimal changes are needed, and progressively to those most in need of change.
Dendro and Electro are quite good; if bult correctly, Traveler can act as a worthy support for different teamcomps. Electro is largely unpopular only because there are too many good alternatives. The only things that could be improved are the values of the restored energy using the “Amulets of Abundance” of the Electro-traveler - From 3-4 to 6-8 energy/amulet at maximum skill levels (9-10).
Anemo
The very first element that helped many beginners at the very start of the game.
In general, all skills and passives are good, except for the elemental burst.
The "Gust Surge" has one unpleasant feature - it flies in a straight line, often carrying enemies far away, and deals minimal damage to resistant enemies, as it most often flies past them.
How I suggest to fix this:
Let tornado move for a while and then stop in place, continuing the action. Thus, when burst is launched into a cluster of enemies, it will suck in all the light ones, but at the same time cause sufficient damage to more resistant targets.
Tumblr media
Geo
The second element in Traveler's possession and one of the most ignored.
One of the biggest problems is the "barrels" created by Starfell Sword. They block not only damage, but also the movement of characters, especially when they are placed too close in the heat of battle.
I have a suggestion on what to do with this: let the passive skill “Frenzied Rockslide” deal damage not only to enemies, but also be capable of destroying “barrels” when it hits them. Together with the second constellation, this will create a fairly effective combination with good amount of geo-damage.
Tumblr media
The second problem is elemental burst. The wall pushes enemies away, which is not always good. What you can do here: push enemies inside of the area instead. There is nothing better for a close-combatant than enemies within hand's reach, that can't escape, or for ranger to have enemies contained in one place.
Hydro
The newest and, alas, the most disappointing element. This happened for two reasons: first, there were already enough good, and even great, hydro-characters in the game and at the time of Fontaine’s release, and second, because the skills were very poorly developed and provide few advantages to the player. After dendro, hydro feels really lazy and inspired. So, let's begin: Firstly, Elemental burst. It's even more useless than Anemo one, because its entire essence comes down to dealing hydro damage. No buffs, no debuffs, no control. Just a bubble that deals damage, and also requires C2 to float a little slower.
There is a solution, but it is so labor-intensive that, most likely, no one will do it (although all solutions, except those related to numbers, are exactly like this): Let the bubble spin around the active character, dealing hydro damage. (Preferably in such an orbit that doesn't block the view).
Tumblr media
In this case, the 2nd constellation can be changed: “Increases the duration of the skill by 3 seconds and when hitting enemies, reduces the hydro-resistance of enemies by 30%.” Hydro damage + hydro status on enemies + debuff = big win.
Secondly - Elemental skill cooldown. This problem affects not only Traveler, but also Lynette - due to arkhe, their tap and hold skill variants have the same cooldown - 10 and 13 seconds respectively. As the arkhe-aligned attacks of other characters show, such dependence is quite useless. There is Charlotte, who has a Pneuma on charged attack, that has a certain cooldown, while not blocking the cast of further charged attacks. Therefore, why not decouple one cooldown from the other and make separate cooldowns for tap and hold: 5 and 10, 7 and 13 seconds respectively, for example, but keep the arkhe cooldown at 10 and 13 seconds.
That's all I have to say. If you have anything to add or argue about, feel free to comment. Thanks for reading!
P.S. What other platform can I post this material?

Hi, i noticed you started playing Genshin Impact! Are you enjoying the game so far? What are your favourite characters? Do you have a team you play the most? :) (you dont have to answer i am just curious haha)
hiiiii! yes i did unfortunately start playing genshin… i honestly have some lingering issues with the gameplay (mostly the artificially inflated playtime everywhere, and the ipad controls continue to be a chore) and the gacha is, you know, infamously what it is, but there's lots of very nice things about it also and i'm clearly still playing! there is much to enjoy, the open world is very beautiful and a lot of care is put into the characters' idle animations to give them a lot of personality and charm >:3
my favourite character is Gorou obviously, so i maybe do have to keep playing this game until he's 90/90 triple crowned with cracked artifacts and such… i would like to realise my dreams of DPS Gorou… that is basically my main goal in this game 😊
(after Gorou my favourite character is Paimon. she is so cute and wonderful and my best friend in the whole world. iN THIS HOUSE WE RESPECT PAIMON.)
as for teams, i got Jean on Itto's banner, i got Ayato by accident while trying to get Sayu (😒) (but it's okay i've forgiven him now), and i recently lucked into winning the coin flip on Alhaitham… at the moment i mostly run around with Ayato, Yanfei, Kaeya/Razor and Yaoyao for overworld farming, but my besties squad for exploring is Gorou, Yanfei, Alhaitham (for his big jump) and Sayu 💕💕 right now my Ayato and Yanfei are especially powerful because they're non-burst-reliant, low-skill-gap DPSes who make mob clearing easier for me, a fake gamer with no skills. i haven't been brave enough to really make progress in the Abyss yet but i'm working on my Xiangling and i will be adopting Xingqiu from the lantern rite so perhaps soon…!!
i'm also joining the ranks of the people who have been coping for Baizhu to become playable since the game launched. btw. and Kaveh obviously. every time my Haitham looks at his gay little keychain i am comforted by the thought that he is literally also waiting for Kaveh to come home 🤧🤧🤧

.... As a former (one day there may be a return) writer of Guizhong, but also as a Liyue fanatic who is feral about the nation's heart, I can't believe Hutao Lover (a stupidly consistently accurate leaker) still insists Guizhong to be playable in the future. Stop it, stop this.

Speaking of Furina, I'm hoping for a kit involving dynamic Max HP buffs. (No spoilers or leaks plz.)
Reasoning as follows:
Considering prior Archons and their "universal support" archetypes, some amount of off-field Hydro application is practically a given. (Probably achieved with her Skill, like Raiden and Nahida, to make Golden Troupe her BiS.)
But also, part of what makes most Archons "worthwhile pulls" is that they change how you play,¹ enabling entirely new team compositions. Furina can't just be a better Yelan+Xingqiu; the niche is already well serviced.
Before 3.0, Hydro resonance increased incoming Healing.² As of 3.0, Hydro resonance increased Max HP instead.
By this point we'd gotten Ayato and Yelan, both establishing a max-HP-scaling theme. Candace and Nilou have continued the trend.
So with that in mind, I think there's a chance (and hope!) that the novel part of Furina's kit centres around raising team Max HP.
Hypothetically:
When Furina uses her burst, she deals AoE Hydro damage and grants all nearby party members the Joie de Vivre state, then restores a certain amount of HP to each character.
Joie de Vivre:
- Max HP is increased.
- Incoming Healing is increased.
- Increased Interruption Resistance, with additional increases when the active character's HP is above their original HP.
- Whenever a character's HP increases or decreases, Joie de Vivre procs deals AoE Hydro damage that counts as Elemental Skill damage. (Once per 0.8s.)
- When the state ends, excess HP is rounded down.
Extremely notional numbers:
HP increase: 30% Furina's Max HP; HP restored: 10% Furina's Max HP + 10% character's Max HP; Incoming Healing Increase: 25%.
This does not replace a healer. The Max HP increase would be comparable to Barbara's burst and Zhongli's skill, but Furina only fills about half that gap. A healer, or characters with occasional self-healing, would be needed to take full advantage.
-----
Increased Max HP directly synergizes with Furina's entire element save Mona and Childe.
Increased Max HP is ofc generally useful for survivability — if you have healing to fill up the raised cap with. Many healers are HP scalers so this is synergistic too.
Hydro!Traveller, Lyney, and Lynette demonstrate that HP-as-a-resource is going to be a major theme for the next half year at least. Spiral Abyss is set to continue that trend through September.
If you're running a Marechausse Hunter type of character (or Xiao, Shinobu, Hu Tao, etc.) then more HP means incoming damage stings less.
This is not a Corrosion counter; Corrosion scales with Max HP (though the rules could plausibly be tweaked to have it scale on base max HP).
Increased Interruption Resistance, reaching Shield-like levels if a character is over their original cap: viable alternative to shields if paired with a good healer.
----
¹ With every new character, there's always a question of "will their attacks reach inside Venti's ult?". For Nahida, off-field AoE Dendro application is the niche. Zhongli is the biggest exception here, having both cemented Shields as Geo's thing and then Geo never bothering with shields again. Still, the point of comparison for any other shielder is "do I like the extra elemental application / shield meter / chip damage enough to sacrifice RES shred?" It's not so much that he creates a new archetype, but that he took over an important existing one.
² Hydro has never been The Healing Element as much as the Resonance implied. As of v1.0, we had Barbara (and technically Xingqiu but that's not where his utility is). As of v2.1, Kokomi. That's... it?
(kudos to @ragingcitrustree for the discussion that inspired this)

Chiori's kit simplified! (Teyvat for Beginners #2)
Welcome to the second edition of a series that I will be calling “Teyvat for Beginners”! I won't be including a section on Chiori’s Normal Attack since there's nothing special about it. This'll also apply to any other characters whose NAs don't have special features.
Also bc of how many characters there are, I'm only doing the girls for the sake of my sanity. But maybe one day, I'll do the guys if i feel like it, who knows!
Chiori's kit revolves a lot around AoE damage, but what does that mean? AoE is an acronym for "area of effect"; it covers any ability that affects characters within a specific range. For example, Diona's Burst creates a circle on the ground - the inside of the circle is the Burst's AoE. However, some AoE abilities don’t have a visual indicator so keep that in mind.
With that cleared up, let's take a look at Chiori’s cutting-edge skills!
Combat
Elemental Skill - Fluttering Hasode
Chiori dashes forward, sweeping her sword upward at the enemy whilst summoning a doll named Tamoto and dealing AoE Geo DMG. Holding the Skill button will allow you to adjust your aim and dictate where you want Chiori to dash to. With this, you can easily have Chiori perform Plunging Attacks.
Tamoto will deal Geo DMG to nearby enemies every 3.6 seconds that she's on the field - this damage scales off of Chiori's ATK and DEF, so the higher either of these stats are, the more damage Tamoto will do. It's usually recommended that you focus on Chiori's DEF stat.
When there is another Geo Construct on the field, a second Tamoto will appear; only two Tamotos can exist simultaneously. Geo characters who can create Constructs, and therefore be viable teammates for Chiori, include Albedo, Zhongli, Ningguang, Itto and Geo Traveler. The first four characters can make Constructs with their Skills, while Traveler can make them with both their Skill and Burst.
Elemental Burst - Hiyoku: Twin Blades
Very similar to her Skill in that it deals AoE Geo DMG and scales off of ATK and DEF.
Passive
Tailor-Made
If you tap Chiori's Skill again immediately after her sweep, the "Tapestry" effect will be triggered. This will instantly switch out Chiori for the next party member (for instance, if Chiori is in the first slot on your team, the character who takes the field will be the one in the second slot) and will grant your active character the "Seize the Moment" state - when the on-field character hits an enemy with a Normal, Charged or Plunging Attack, Tamoto will deal a coordinated attack as AoE Geo DMG. The value of Tamoto's attack will be the same amount of damage that Chiori performs with her sweep. The "Seize the Moment" state lasts for 8 seconds; it cannot be triggered if you manually switch to the next character after using Chiori's Skill.
Alternatively, if you use Chiori's Normal Attack after the sweep, she will enter the "Tailoring" state, in which her weapon gain Geo infusion for 5 seconds, allowing her to deal Geo DMG with her Normal Attacks.
The Finishing Touch
Chiori gains a 20% Geo DMG Bonus increase for 20 seconds when a teammate (both your own characters and Co-Op members) creates a Geo Construct.
Brocaded Collar's Beauteous Silhouette
If any of Chiori's teammates is wearing an outfit other than their default one, or a glider other than Wings of First Flight (the default pair), the whole party will have their movement speed increased by 10%. For example, if Chiori is in a team with Ningguang, who is wearing the "Orchid's Evening Gown" outfit, this passive will be triggered. This cannot stack with other passives that increase movement speed.

Wait wait wait, is Fischl French? Not Amy I mean the character she's kinning is from a Fontaine story? Could it be related to or inspired by the Narcissist Ordoz or whatever, the wizard guy and Guillotine storyline, given the focus on fairy tales, missing princesses, and ridiculously long titles? I also just realized Fischl's event skin is comparatively Fontaine-like. Hold on, I'm forming thoughts based on shared motifs...

So after the sumeru story I couldn't simp for characters for awhile because of entertaining a different headspace so have this theory craft instead
Warning: a portion containing descriptions of severe hypothermia
I just had a thought about what the tsaritsa's possible archon power
So I remembered how the reason people in Sumeru don't have dreams is because lord rukkhadevata took them to save irminsul
And then also remembered the lines dain said in that one trailer that had all 7 nations and archons with cryo being "she is a god with no love left for her people, nor do they have any left for her" which feels contradicting since the fatui has an almost cultist devotion towards as far as I have seen
Then I had an idea
The tsaritsa is basically "taking" their love or "drowning" them in hers to control them
My theory was further realized when I saw how Scaramouche is the only one (so far at least) who doesn't sound extremely dedicated or respectful towards her which I'll go out of bounds and say it's because he has the powers of an archon inside his body to resist her mind control (like how Nahida wasn't at all affected by Dottore's dream device unlike traveler and paimon)
Speaking of Dottore I find it odd how he's talking really similarly to Signora who was basically manipulated by the fatui for god knows how long when the guy by all accounts is a wild card that only works for certain people if he gets something out of it
There's also some fatui agents that I noticed something different about
The one's trapped in the chasm are talking coherent and feel like they have their own personalities, this is also true for the one's in the last archipelago event with that mirror maiden looking for her brothers (very desperately I might add) and what these two have in common is that they're hinted at having been away from their home nation for a very long time unlike the mobs that sounds distorted and drone like with vaguely dark connotations
And lastly the theme of love with cryo
I can't remember which culture this old story is from but it talks about an ice queen who kidnapped a little boy as her own but even if he's happy in her embrace he's still slowly freezing to death from her kisses and hugs
Also I don't think real science is at play but I thought it was interesting enough to mention. Hypothermia victims sometimes would take off their clothes even when they have severe freezing because of a "hot flash" tricking them into believing they're warming up too much
Which brings me back to my tsaritsa's archon power point
Basically her subjects are so submerged in her control that it feels like "love" to them even if that's not how they truly feel nor is the tsaritsa's love genuine
If this is true I wonder what would happen in the story quest(another rebellion like ancient Mondstadt perhaps?)
And what would become of characters like Childe? someone so passionately dedicated that he puts the tsaritsa as equal to his family in importance
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk
-Vagabond Anon
I just finished crying over Rukkhadevata again wassup *coughing fit* I'm not entirely up to date with all the Tsaritsa lore in the game because it's still too far (and my mind is full of theories related to what we JUST learned)
But this is very much a good theory! It would at least explain the connection of the archon's principles to their nation (like freedom with Mond, wisdom with Sumeru, justice with Fontaine) but I can't be too sure since I haven't noticed the npcs much outside of Sumeru whoops
I think I can agree on the hypothermia thing being related to it - actually I am imagining that Snezhnaya is filled with snow and ice as a symbol of the Tsaritsa's love/watch over the nation, unknowing that it's slowly killing her people? Or maybe it's really just her complete disregard for their people
Iirc my first thought when I heard Dain say that was that she abandoned loving her people and instead now 'loves' Khaenri'ah, putting her attention to avenging that nation by battling Celestia even if it causes great casualties.
Or maybe Dain's being a bitch again and is just surface level observing, like how he jebaited us with Sumeru. But I wonder if the peak of Snezhnaya would be the Fatui against Celestia already. Either way we have little to no info, tho I have a feeling we'll have to hit the books on ahem historical parallels

YUNIE YOU HAVE COME BACK
Yes, the Fontaine Archon Quest was the gift that kept on giving because apparently, Sovereigns can actually create other humans too (Apep had her own creatures but they were hardly so) AND if you played that one World Quest about the kid in the Fortress of Meropide the implications??? Insanity.
I would love to see an economic conflict because Pantalone tried it already with the coupon system in the specialized economic zone before Wriothesley hijacked it and turned it into something that was optional to opt into (Pantalone shaking his fist at the notion), so maybe Fontaine serving as the proxy to Liyue Harbor v. Snezhnaya would be fun.
(I have been okay. Life is being life and quite frankly, I'm just trying to make it work.)
YAAEKSASKKD IM BACK!! (ish)
Pantalone is not having a good time man, first his bank gets slapped with heavy repatriation fines from the Tianquan, then his spy almost gets outed by Yelan and he had to pull the guy out, next his little coupon system gets hijacked by Wriothesley... he hasn’t tried his luck in Sumeru, but the track record doesn’t look great lmao
I agree though, I hope Fontaine does serve as a proxy... it’d be a very fascinating arc for sure that’ll give us some nice worldbuilding lore to work with.
I HAVEn’T PLAYED THAT ONE WORLD QUEST but I don’t mind spoilers (I’ll tag #genshin spoilers in case), coz I won’t be catching up on the WQs any time soon... I’ll probably only have time for the main AQ and whatever sides where Ningguang makes an appearance LOL
(You can do it narky!! I get it completely. Life, pls)
