Zhongli x GN!S/O - Beach Day

“The beach you say? Hmm, well why not, I have no objections to going on an outing with you.”

Zhongli may not be one for seafood but the beach is quite relaxing, being as old as he is, this sounds like a dream way to relax.

He will pack all the necessities, sunscreen included, he cannot have you burning like a Pyro Slime in the sun.

He also packs you both his signature Slow-Cooked Bamboo Shoot Soup, just because he is the former Geo Archon does not mean he does not know how to cook. Luckily for you, he cooks like a professional chef.

Zhongli will make sure you are dressed accordingly for the outing, yes that includes shielding you from prying eyes if you are- ahem- revealing a bit much.

You are his and he would like to keep it so.

“You want me to get in the water with you? Sure, but- oh- remove my shirt? I suppose that would be best…”

You never imagined that your love would be so hesitant to remove his shirt for the beach. Luckily for you, he is quite a sight to behold.

Rock-hard abs, beautifully toned muscles, and oh dear me- is that a six pack there? I believe so~!

He does not completely understand why you are so flushed so he hands you sunscreen and drags you to the shade.

“You appear to be burning up, here, allow me to carry you back to shore and get you to some shade.”

A simple “yes, sir” would suffice.

Just because he is the former Geo Archon does not mean he is no fun, he will get into water fights and playfully toss you into the water.

Strolls down the beach at sunset are a must, there is something so romantic about them and he wants to enjoy it with you.

Link/Xiao is just an big brain thought because like it can basically “Xiao” moments that turn into a sweeter and more softer “Link” or reverse with more sweeter and softer turning more violent and prideful. Princess Zelda would probably accept the behavior from her champion seeing most quests and tasks literally mindfuck people [mm/oot/Botw] and the hero has done so much for hyrule. It’s terrible for you since you don’t know him and if you do his odd mood swings don’t help. If it’s a liyue/GenImp! S/o dealing with a Link!Xiao who only speaks in HYAA/Language barrier it would be a dark comedy with fridge horror. It doesn’t help with people from his world keep saying he’s a great person, aside from breaking pots. If its a Xiao!Link with a loz!s/o its more horror since you’ve probably been kidnapped by somw inhumane person. Would zhongli still recognize him?

Tbf, Twilight Princess Link gives me Xiao vibes. Like the other Links were at least always kinda :) but TP Link is just :/

Ok but you have to understand we were starving for a character that wasn't just a twink since zhongli so oni boy is at least an improvement even if he is paired with dog boy goro who is a twink but has a good character in the story

In all seriousness, though, I don't understand the appeal of GenImp characters. Even the smut I see of the characters is like '... Okay, I feel like I've seen these exact character designs in a Tiramisu Tart doujin'

Then again, I know that this is the part where someone could jump in with 'You like/thirst over CR characters!' but the thing there is that, one, there are firm, visual differences between regular and muscular body-types in that game, and two the fandom knows how ridiculous it is.

Hi for Zhongli, Childe, Diluc and Xaio, I was wondering if you could give headcanons for this: the traveller has occasional bouts of insomnia and while the guys try to help out, they feel guilty for making them stay up late and be tired the next day. So when they start getting another period of insomnia, they stop sleeping with the guy. Like they make up some excuse or straight up not appear at night time.

Zhongli

He stays up waiting for you when you don’t appear, preparing a pot of tea and getting out a book. Though he can’t really focus on what he’s reading since he’s wondering where you are: Were you safe? Are you alright…?

Zhongli begins to wonder if he’s done something to upset you, making you avoid him… It may take a while before he asks you about it, since he wants to give you space, but eventually the question festers too long that he finds himself saying it before he realizes.

He assures you that staying up doesn’t really affect him, seeing as he’s not constricted by human qualities. Really, the easiest way to put him at ease is having you with him, insomnia or not.

Childe

I feel like Childe’s intuition can tell you aren’t doing this out of a bad reason. So just what could be making you keep a distance from him? 

It was odd, since this only happens at nighttime, and when you see him again the next day there’s a guilty aura around you as you ask him if he’s well-rested.

Eventually it clicks, though. Childe can’t help but sigh in exasperation as he traps you in his arms and confirms his suspicions.

While he admits that not getting enough sleep isn’t particularly good for people, Childe wants to help support you, both as a partner and friend. He’ll settle for a compromise if you insist, like going to sleep before you if he’s tired or has work.

Diluc

He does night patrols on occasion (plus has his whole Darknight Hero thing going on) so Diluc comes home late at times too.

Call it old habits maybe, but he tries to maintain a reasonable sleep schedule when he can, even if he at times is hit with insomnia too. With this in mind however, he’s not one to just ignore you if you can’t sleep, or start avoiding him so that he isn’t inconvenienced.

Diluc actually gets even less sleep when you do this, since he’s too preoccupied with confirming your safety. He does eventually doze off at the dining table or sofa, though. He doesn’t use this to guilt-trip you, but rather the maids end up telling you after they start noticing this.

Xiao

Does he even sleep? Xiao (from what I can guess) is usually busy at night from keeping Liyue safe, so when he’s done with that he usually returns to check in on you. I feel like his rest-times are in the afternoons actually, when light is at its brightest.

Anyways, he’d often talk to you if you can’t sleep, or harvest some medicinal plants to help. Maybe he even plays the flute, letting the melody calm your mind like it does his.

Xiao frowns and reminds you that there’s no need to worry about him lacking sleep - he’s far from human and can manage well enough without it. His gaze softens after further explanation, and he lets you know that he doesn’t mind staying up at all.

Diluc

He doesn’t mother you per say, but Diluc would definitely look out for signs that you might be overworking or stressed out in general. Reminds you to take care of yourself, or important deadlines if you tend to be forgetful

Gives you a heads up if there’s going to be any trouble around Mondstadt (like if he plans to go investigate some abyss camps this week, etc)

Diluc’s go-to display of affection is probably resting a hand on your shoulder, it’s his way of non-verbally saying ‘I’m here’ or ‘don’t worry’

You sometimes like to joke that you’ve learned to read his body language so well you could be a personalised translator (from the way his shoulders are tensed, his energy when he crosses his arms, etc)

“This is the ‘I’m thinking’ stance.” “Oh, I thought it was the ‘don’t bother me’ one…” “No no, there’s a difference in--” “I can hear you both, you know.”

Zhongli

Expect him to remember your favourite foods and drinks. Everytime you guys hang out he somehow manages to guess what you want to order. You’ve tried foiling him a few times, but his intuition is too powerful. (Maybe it’s buffed because he used to be an archon? Who knows)

When you guys get close enough he’s basically so familiar with your habits that people think you’ve grown up together, and he just smiles and says that the idea wouldn’t be too bad, to have a sibling this cute. (Yes he teases you sometimes)

Once you complained that he knows too much about you, and so Zhongli proceeded to give you a crash course of random stories from before you met over tea/lunch to balance things out.

You both forget your money. More than once. You’ve spent too much time with Zhongli, or maybe your wallet got emptied from the past times of paying for him, you’re not sure.
