genderqueer culture is simultaneously wanting to grow out your hair really long and shave it all off, so you settle for half and half

[I.D: A selfie of a pale-skinned person with pink-and-purple hair down to his shoulders, and the right side of her head shaved. He is sitting in front of a genderqueer pride flag, wearing a black, short-sleeved T-shirt with purple text, reading "cosmic feelings." She has a heart-shaped bi pride flag dangle earring on the same side as the undercut.]

It's just really nice to me that Cassandra's pronouns still swip-swap when he's the Nightmare King. Like. They do tend to use she/her when she's Cassandra, but that’s a nice reminder that Cassandra is canonically nonbinary.

hi, i saw your recent ask and i was wondering. how do you build an androgynous/femme outfit? especially for AMAB people who tend to have a more rectangular body shape.
thanks in advance!!
I think being able to separate clothing from gender is an important part of being able to present how you want to present.
Of course, there is a lot of cultural pressure around certain pieces of clothing being associated with certain gender presentations. However, I find that clothing is not the main thing that helps me with androgyneity. For me, that would be shapewear in the form of hip pads, butt pads (these are basically boxer shorts with inserts for specifically shaped pads), and breast forms.
Here is how I present most days I go out compared with a more masc look:

The main differences between these are the makeup and the shapewear for the femme look. Otherwise, the cargo pants are the same, and the vneck t-shirts are the same brand.

thinking about link post-calamity finding comfort in hanging out in gerudo town in his disguise because nobody knows who he is there. instead of being Link, the Hero of Hyrule, he’s just Link, the quirky little hylian vai who runs around buying all the fruit and arrows and keeps trying to convince furosa to finally let her order a noble pursuit from the canteen. but he also surprisingly finds comfort in wearing his lil outfit for other reasons…

I added a dragon symbol for Mulan and a water symbol for Mizu as well as the titles of their respected show/movie! I think it goes well on my mini fridge🥰

name : Omae no Kaa-chan Kyokondashi Sourou!! | Your Mom Has a Big Premature Ejaculating Dick!!
Synopsis: Takashi-chan (Ryuu) saw his mom getting ready to go out, wearing lots of makeup. He felt curious and decided to follow her, worried about her being alone downtown at night. He found her with a man at a Love Hotel, where he realized the man really like futanari. Listening from outside, Takashi heard his mom having fun with the man, but he felt jealous. He broke the window and made the man leave. His mom was surprised and embarrassed to see him, but she admitted feeling lonely since Takashi's dad passed away and what happened between them previously that increase her sexual urges. Wanting to help his mom not feel lonely, Takashi promised to be there for her. He said he'd help her feel better so she wouldn't need to find another man for company.

History SpIn genderqueer culture is remembering that we have enough records of gnc/queer fashion by the mid 1900s that I could actually dress in clothes based off my favourite time period!! (+ most sensory issue clothes are semi-optional by then so I can avoid those too)

Jackie Curtis posing with Scott Asheton, Iggy Pop & Lou Reed at Max’s Kansas City, 1973, as captured by Danny Fields during what could have possibly been the afterparty for the Stooges’ Raw Power gig.
“I am not a boy, not a girl, I am not gay, not straight, I am not a drag queen, not a transsexual – I am just me, Jackie.”
Jackie Curtis was one of the superstars in Andy Warhol’s galaxy, a ‘60s/’70s East Village playwright, poet & genderqueer performer, who died at 38 of a heroin overdose and has been immortalized in Lou Reed’s “Take a Walk on the Wild Side”: “...Jackie is just speeding away / thought she was James Dean for a day / then I guess she had to crash…”.
Jackie’s trashy glam style of DIY ripped clothes covered in glitter along with elements of the Theatre of the Ridiculous, the underground theatre art of that era that she was involved in, were defintely incorporated into the burgeoning NY glam rock scene of the ‘70s and though more than obvious, the influence on Iggy’s voyeuristic & gender-bending performances is often underestimated. In this light, Scott Asheton’s quote that the Stooges scared people off in a different way can take new meaning in terms of blowing up people’s stereotypes on sexuality and gender roles.
