The arc is set at the funeral of Gem Lovejoy.

Penny has meticulously organised the whole event. It stops her from thinking about what happened.

Hope feels obliged to come even if she knows it will be uncomfortable. It's the first time away from her party since they formed

Richard, who is so used to livening up a room, doesn't know how to process it. Especially since his boys weren't invited.

Robin and Wren both individually don't come in an official capacity just long enough say goodbye and leave. Robin still brings Lyndell for emotional support.

However, when the ceremony is interrupted by Hatebad loyalists, this family will have to work together to escape a full throttle ambush.

The amount of aromantic Lovejoy lyrics is baffling. If you really pay attention to the lyrics you can find so many aromantic gems.

That’s one reason why I love Lovejoy. I’m questioning wether or not I might be a-spec, and having something there that’s relatable makes me feel less broken.

Even in Wilbur’s solo album (your city gave me asthma) there are so many lyrics. And no matter how small they might seem, having lyrics like that in music (and media in general) helps a lot of people.

So thank you Wilbur. You’re helping an entire generation of kids feel less alone in so many different ways.

OH MY GOOODODODODODOD WHAT THE FUCK AUGUSTUS RACHELS IM COMING FOR YOU. FIRST REMENY AND LOTTIE NOW THIS ?!?!! PENNY LOST HER MOM!!!!! I STIFLED A SOB AT WORK OVER A FUCKING LOVEJOY!!! never in my life (or rather in the 6 or so months I've been in this fandom) did I think I would cry for a Lovejoy. GEM Lovejoy of all people. but I did, and just wow. I feel like Im seeing a new dimension of this show. it's really good at showing how people are just people. they're not good or bad we're all too complex for that binary. penny lost her mom. god. the performance was so good. oh my god and sybilla. she's dead dude. she's dead. I can't even begin to process. "my best friend euthanasia wizard would Never hurt me" oh sure. sure. like. UNPREPARED CASTERS ARC 8 SPOILERS

I cannot stop thinking about the ramifications. Like theoretically Sir Up, Syb, and Penny's seats are gone, so Phil's successor vote would come down to new people. Isa's in there somewhere as either Sir Up's spot (if Syb could get that through in time) or Syb's spot. If Isa's in Sir Up's spot then who's in Syb's? Jim? And who the hell replaces penny? I think it'd be funny if another lovejoy that lives in the kingdom takes it, but like, idk. And then, the war? Cause like,,, the Hatebad's probably have Phil on their side and will (as was said in the VC's) probably just level Glacaria. My personal headcanon is that Sir Up escapes in the confusion post gem death and is an ex-pat in Glacaria and becomes the captain of Queen penny's guard.

So my biggest thought is that Penny makes the same / similar deals to what her mom did. Say some devil was able to get ahold of some royal blood (perhaps in the hectic rush of sybilla's death) and approaches Penny saying that he can get her an army if she agrees to help him. Say that same devil supplies weapons to the Hatebads in order to get them to create a hellish landscape in Glacaria.

I posit one Wren Forrester, as my pick to replace Penny on the minor council, thus publicly becoming a Lovejoy once more and carrying out a rehabilitation of the Lovejoy name possibly with some Nieces by her side.

Truly though my favorite thought is about a devil playing both sides of the war. Annie and Bombix are worried about the war and Nephila so they don't catch the devils in time and Glacaria becomes hell on earth, a powerful swing from way too cold to way too hot.
