Firefly is a very good space western series. I love it from the first episode. The story and the episodes are great as well. The music also fits with it. The charactes are amazing, I love all of the main character. Okay, Serenity was a good finish, but there was a great potential in the series. It was humorous and exciting.

So I was happy, because I found a workout with the name of firefly and Serenity. Firefly is a easy high burn workout. And Serenity is an easy yoga workout. Enjoy it! Thanks for darebee and neilarey.

Ghosts Series 3: The Beautiful Message of This Adorably Daft Comedy
https://ift.tt/3ACqKfH
Warning: spoilers for Ghosts Series 3.
The Ghosts Christmas special contains a scene so utterly lovely that BBC One should show it every weeknight straight after the News at Ten. We could all watch it, have a little cry, then clean our teeth and go to bed, ready to wake up the next morning as better, happier people. It might be odd to hear Christmas carol ‘In the Bleak Midwinter’ in summer, but nobody would mind. There’s no wrong time to be knocked off your feet by a wave of joy.
The scene shows Charlotte Ritchie’s Alison sitting alone at the piano on Christmas day, her wish for a family-sung carol drowned out in the mix of in-laws’ needs. She starts to sing, alone, and is surprised by another voice. Soon, it’s not just one, but a whole chorus – and not those of her in-laws, but the motley of comedy ghosts she inherited along with a manor house as the last survivor of her line. To the living, Alison looks as though she’s singing solo, but really, she’s deep in the bosom of a… really weird-looking family.
There’s always something rousing about choral voices, especially at Christmas, especially after a Baileys trifle and a bucket of wine, but that’s not what makes the scene so perfect. It’s perfect because of the note it strikes about companionship and fellow-feeling, a note held all the way through series three.
Ghosts’ third series is airing weekly on Monday nights and available to stream in full on BBC iPlayer. Funny, confident and even more experimental in format, it’s the show’s best yet. And while it wears its emotions lightly and never loses sight of its daft comic personality, it’s often very touching. The show has perfected its theme of family. Alison had none, bar husband Mike, when she inherited Button House. Over three series, we’ve watched Button House turn from an empty shell into a real family home.
Series three episode ‘Something to Share?’, written by Mat Baynton and Jim Howick, is Ghosts’ finest achievement so far. It’s a psychologically complex episode that visits scenes from the life of Lolly Adefope’s character Kitty – a sunshine-faced 18th century noblewoman whose cause of death is still tba (though having met her nasty sister, we could hazard a guess). Adefope is excellent in it, and carves out deep hollows of emotion beneath Kitty’s giggling, simpering façade.

The episode’s real genius though, is the conceit of having Kitty’s family played in flashback by the Ghosts cast – at least, to begin with. Kitty’s sunny outlook applies equally to the present and the past. She rewrites any cruelty she’s experienced and looks back with the rosiest of tinted glasses. She sees the horrid sister who bullies her as kind and adoring, the stern father who rages at her as benevolent and upstanding, so mentally casts them as compassionate, caring Alison (Ritchie) and the stern but loving and fatherly Captain (a WWII ghost played by Ben Willbond). Other cast members appear as servants and local figures.
As the scales start to fall from Kitty’s eyes, her family’s true faces appear in her memories. Her father was no Captain and her sister was certainly no Alison. Kitty had chosen to remember them that way because she loves Alison and the other ghosts like family. They’re who she wanted around her in life as well as in death.
No matter that they’re from different centuries and have entirely different understandings of the world, the ghosts’ kinship transcends their differences. A caveman, a 1990s politician, an Edwardian aristocrat, a WWII captain, a 16th century witch, a Regency poet, a headless Elizabethan, a 1980s scoutmaster, a debutante from the 1800s and a 21st century orphan can all learn from each other and find common ground. Around a piano, singing a carol, they can be family.
And that is the shining heart of Ghosts, the message underpinning its brilliant silliness: we have more in common than that which divides us. Without a hint of sappiness, that’s what catches unexpectedly in your throat mid-laugh.
Now, let’s have series four, five and six please, a Christmas special every year, and somebody get Robin to release a Zumba workout DVD. We need to work on our cores.
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
Ghosts series 1-3 are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.

You’re da best!
Tumblr media
My roommate, Aiden had decided in the middle of the night that he was going to sneak away for the weekend with his girlfriend. If his parents called the dorm room that weekend I was to cover for him. As he slipped out the door he looked over at me and said: “Thanks again brah. You’re da best”. As the door closed I looked over at his side of the room. His clothes thrown all over the floor. Leave it to University Housing to pair up a computer geek like me with one of the stars on the wrestling team.
I walked over and picked up Aiden’s gym gear which was still sobbing wet from his workout earlier that night. Putting them up to my face I inhaled his under armor boxer briefs which gave me an immediate boner. Before I knew it, I stripped out of my clothes and had his underwear, gym gear and shoes on.
They hung from my small frame. Closing my eyes for minute as I looked down and tried flexing something strange happened... suddenly all the sweat from the gym gear and damp boxer briefs felt as if it was being absorbed through my skin leaving the clothes dry. The next thing I knew was there was a popping sound and I felt as if my body was getting more and more muscular. I opened my eyes and I was an exact copy of Aiden. I flexed again and started tenting my shorts at the thought of being Aiden for the weekend. Maybe I’d see if those wrestling teammates were into dudes too.
Suddenly I could hear keys in the door and Aiden’s voice saying “Hey brah, I forgot my wallet”.  I had to act quickly. Do I shift back and be caught wearing his gym gear? Or do I take him out and take his place with the girlfriend for the weekend?
In a spit second, I made up my mind. I was to be the ‘new’ Aiden. Sprinting toward the door, I turned off the lights and hid. When the door opened and the real Aiden was fumbling for the light switch I lunged at him, getting him into one of those sleeper holds. My moves were perfect and the real Aiden was out in seconds with a thud. I dragged him in to the room and closed the door and locked it in case anyone heard us.
Immediately I started to undress him. First pulling his polo shirt off over his beefy biceps and shoulders. Then, his sneakers and those jeans. Aiden liked to wear his clothes nice and snug. It was his way of showing that he spent his time in the gym perfecting his bod. When I pulled off his boxer briefs and he was completely naked I froze… Whoa…is this what I look like?? I hadn’t seen myself as Aiden naked yet. I quickly stripped out of his gym gear and there we were…both identical in every way. Every muscle contour and peak was exact, every freckle, everything. Including what looked like a 9” cock. I grinded thinking I can’t wait to take that out for a test drive and see what it can do.
I picked up Aiden’s polo shirt. Took a whiff of the armpit and then rubbed my armpits with it. “This is what I smell like now” I thought. His boxer briefs were semi-damp as I slipped them over my penis and my cock sprung to attention. It was probably his precum over the excitement of being with his girl for the weekend. The jeans were a bit snug. They slid over my bubble butt and were hard to button with my now erect penis popping over the waist band. WTF??? Aiden’s mobile phone started to vibrate. I went over to pick it up and saw it was his gf Jenny texting “Where are you?”.
The way I see it, I had a couple of options… Go away with Jenny for the weekend as planned. Or, delay and hang with the wrestling teammates and give some bogus story that Jenny and I had a fight. Then there’s what do I do with the real Aiden? Anyone care to find out?
Picking up the phone I texted Jenny back “Hey babe, still looking for my wallet. I’ll text ya when I am on my way. :P “ I had heard Aiden enough times on the phone with Jenny and other chicks to be able to ‘talk the talk’ and I now had all his other texts and e-mails if I ever needed to keep facts straight. I quickly changed the password for my phone, computer, e-mail and Facebook just to be safe. The old one was easy to figure out and I didn’t want the real Aiden causing any trouble.
My hard cock was still popping over the waistband of my under armor boxer briefs and I am pretty sure they were damper now with my precum too. You see, I am a virgin. Aiden and this body sure weren’t. But I was on the inside now and definitely one. I’d slip away for the weekend and with Jenny’s help lose my virginity while her boyfriend banged her all weekend long like never before. After that, I’d be free to do what I wanted…keep banging other chicks on the side like I knew Aiden did or get to know some of the others on the wrestling team better.
The real Aiden was still naked on the floor. I looked over at my old clothes from my former body and decided to put them on him though they were too small for his frame. A Star Wars T-Shirt, sweatpants and glasses. Yeah, before I was Aiden I wore glasses. Now I had 20/20 vision. I also tied him up, gagged him and gave him a whiff of some knockout drops we used on animals in the biology lab. He should be out for the weekend.
As I was packing up some more of my clothes I looked over and the real Aiden started to move and shake and shrink… turning in to my former body of a computer geek. I quickly texted Jenny “Hey babe... Found it! On my way. So lookin’ forward to this!” I looked over at the real Aiden (now in my former body and named Ryan). He was still knocked out… and I said: “Thanks again brah. You’re da best” and walked out of the room and locked the door.
On the way over to Jenny’s I looked through my phone and texted one of the hot wrestler teammates: “Yo brah, you care if I crash @ your place Monday? Roommate situation blows”.

Story page // My ask box
Author’s note: I can’t wait for you guys to read this! I’ve been working really hard on it for a while. Without further ado, here it is:
Chapter 1: Top of the First
Mia is running late. Today is her first day working at her dream job, and she’s running six minutes behind schedule. Six minutes isn’t a lot, but for Mia, it feels like six hours, because she’s wanted a job like this for as long as she can remember. She’s been a numbers geek since she learned to count. She fell in love with baseball as a kid, watching it on television and going to games with her dad, and she fell in love with statistics in college. Putting everything together seemed completely natural, and when she landed this job, she was, in a word, ecstatic.
Somehow, the traffic is light on her route to the stadium, and she makes it there nine minutes ahead of schedule. But she gets lost on her way to the statisticians’ office, and arrives there at 8:33am. She feels a pang of guilt for being three minutes late on her first day, but there’s nothing she can do at this point, so she shrugs it off as best she can. She’s supposed to be there thirty minutes before the official work day begins in order to be shown around the office and for some administrative stuff, anyway. The man who interviewed her for the position is waiting for her. He’s middle-aged, with thinning brown hair and a wide, friendly smile. She can’t remember his name, but she hopes that it won’t be an issue.
“Amelia Simon?” he asks.
“Yes, that’s me,” she replies.
“I don’t know if you remember my name from your interview. You seemed a little overwhelmed by the idea of working here. In any case, I’m Andrew Green, and I’m your new boss. Let me show you around the office.”
“Nice to meet you again, Mr. Green,” Mia smiles at him.
“Please call me Andrew. We’re all friends around here, Amelia.”
“Well, then, please call me Mia. It’s what I prefer.”
“I’ll remember that,” he pauses for a moment for dramatic effect, “Mia.”
Andrew first shows Mia her cubicle, then the break room, followed by the location of the bathrooms, and finally the conference room, where she’ll be for major meetings, including those with players. She fills out some paperwork at her new desk, and brings them to Andrew in his office.
“You seem eager to get started,” Andrew says. “I can already tell you’ll fit in quite well. You’re our newest, fresh out of graduate school. I can’t wait to see what you can do for our statistics team and for the players themselves.”
Mia grins. “I really can’t wait. It’s been my dream to work for a baseball team, any baseball team, for as long as I can remember, and you’re my hometown team. I’d hoped I’d be able to work for this team, but I wasn’t sure there’d be a position for me to take here. And I can be close to my family too! I can’t believe this is real.”
“Well, it is. Take a moment to soak it in, and then we’ll head to your first stat team meeting.”
Mia takes a deep breath in, and holds it. She releases it slowly. “I’m ready,” she tells Andrew.
They walk together to the meeting room, where the rest of the team’s statisticians have gathered.
“This is Mia Simon, everybody. She’s the newest member of our little operation here,” Andrew introduces her, and she waves awkwardly at them.
They go around the room, introducing themselves to Mia. She doesn’t remember any names because she’s nervous meeting so many new people at once, but she tells herself that it’ll be okay and that she’ll learn their names quickly enough.
“Today is a big day!” Andrew announces, once they’ve finished the introductions. “Pitchers and catchers report for their first official Spring Training workouts on Wednesday, and we have lots to do before they get there, because the rest of the team will be arriving on the following Monday.”
Mia puts her hand up, and Andrew points at her to speak. “Will we be meeting with the players during Spring Training at all?”
“Only the senior members of our stat team will travel to Florida to meet with the team during preseason workouts. However, our junior statisticians -- and, yes, that includes you Mia! -- will remain here. You will be meeting with some of the players throughout the regular season, though, again, you will not be traveling with the team at all. You’ll each be looking at and analyzing the stats for several players who are on the roster, or some minor leaguers and non-roster players invited to Spring Training, or a combination of the two. That’ll be all of you, junior and senior statisticians.”
“Okay,” Mia nods her understanding. Another hand goes up, that of a young man who looks to be around her age.
“Yes, Niall?”
“Which cubicle did you give to Mia? The one next to mine?” Andrew nods. “Okay, good.” Niall seems pleased.
The meeting wraps up with instructions on what each statistician should be doing for the next week to prep for the preseason, and they are all given player assignments. Mia is assigned to look at the stats for a couple of non-roster minor leaguers who were invited to Major League Spring Training to compete for a spot on the team, along with Harry Styles, the face of the franchise and star slugger of the team. She thinks this must be wrong, and she goes to approach Andrew, but he is preoccupied with one of the senior statisticians, so she goes back to her cubicle and asks her new cubicle neighbor, Niall.
“It seems like Andrew gave me the wrong instructions,” she tells him, and passes over her papers.
“Nah,” Niall says. “Someone else is ‘actually’ assigned to him. This is just a test to see what you’re made of.”
“Really?” Mia says, relieved. “Thanks for the heads up. I was really worried. I mean, Harry Styles? He’s amazing and I couldn’t help him get better if I tried.”
Niall laughs. “That’s what you think, but even the best players benefit from our help. That’s why we have a job at all. By the way, I’m Niall Horan. I’m the second-newest member of the stat team. I asked if you were in the cubicle next to mine because I wanted to make sure you had somebody young to help navigate you through the first few days.”
“Thanks, Niall. I really appreciate that. I’m Mia Simon, but you already knew that.” She extends her hand, and they shake hands, an unspoken agreement to be friends.
***
One week later, on Mia’s second Monday at the job, she and Niall are sitting in the break room, chatting and finishing their lunches, when Andrew walks in.
“Ah, good. Just the two people I wanted to see,” he says, and clears his throat importantly. “Two of our senior statisticians are really sick. They both have strep throat and are very contagious, and they’ll be out for at least a week. In any case, I need two more people to fly to Florida tomorrow with the group to help explain some stuff to the players and coaches. I was hoping you two youngsters would like to come along to see what Spring Training is all about. In addition, I was hoping some young faces would help the players pay more attention to what we’re saying.”
There is a silence, while the two process what Andrew told them. Then, once it hits them, their mouths drop open. The two look at each other like little kids who were just told by their parents that they’re on their way to Walt Disney World.
“This has to be a mistake,” Mia says after her heart rate slows a little. “Why us?”
“Because you are the only two junior statisticians on the team who haven’t been through any part of the preseason or regular season yet. Niall was hired in October, right after the season ended, since we didn’t make the playoffs. And you were obviously just hired. We wanted to give you an opportunity to see what it would be like, if and when you become senior statisticians. Besides, you two are our best and brightest new additions anyway. I saw what you did with Styles’ stats, Mia. You’ll do great. Don’t worry too much.”
Andrew smiles encouragingly at them. “I’ll let you two go home when you’re done eating and pack. I’ll see you bright and early at the airport, all right? Eight o’clock sharp. We’ll be there for four days, including tomorrow, so keep that in mind.”
***
Back at her apartment, Mia is riddled with anxiety. She doesn’t know what to pack, because she’s never been on a trip quite like this one, so she calls Niall. He picks up on the second ring.
“Hey! What’s up?”
“Hi Niall. I have no idea what to pack for this trip. Do I pack business casual? Or do I pack team apparel? Or do I just pack regular clothes? Help me!”
She knows she sounds a little crazy and desperate, but she doesn’t care. She’s too wrapped up in her own anxiety about meeting members of the team she’s been rooting for as long as she can remember.
“Whoa,” Niall says, a little taken aback. “Calm down a little. It’s just a business trip. I would say pack business casual and maybe put a jersey or two in there as well if you really want to. We’re meeting the team as statisticians, not as fans, you gotta remember that.”
“Right,” Mia grounds herself. “Of course. I’m so dumb. I’m just so excited that I let my emotions get ahead of my logical self. Okay.”
“You gonna be okay now?”
“Yeah, Niall. I think I’ll be fine. Thanks. Bye. See you tomorrow at the airport, eight o’clock sharp.” Mia smiles into the phone, despite her nerves.
“Bye Mia,” Niall says, and hangs up.
Mia tosses a couple of her favorite jerseys into her bag, including one that reads STYLES with a number 10 on the back. He has been her favorite player since he was called up to the majors a few years back. She’s a little overly anxious to meet him, she thinks. She tells herself to calm down. He’s just another person. They’re all just people. Why is this so intimidating?
***
Bright and early the following morning, or rather, dark and early at 6am, Mia rolls out of bed, exhausted, but with a big smile on her face. She’s going to fly down to Florida! She’s going to meet some of her favorite players! And best of all, she’s doing it in an official capacity as a statistician for the team,so they have to listen to her. Admittedly, this makes her a little more nervous, because she has no idea what she’s supposed to say, but she’s too excited to let it bother her.
After showering and getting dressed, she tries to eat a light breakfast, but she’s too nervous to eat. She only manages a few bites of food, so she grabs a banana and a couple of granola bars to take with her. She calls Niall on her way out the door, and gets his voicemail. When she arrives at the terminal at 7:40,  she’s greeted by Andrew and two other senior statisticians from the office, Daniel and James. Niall arrives at the gate five minutes before their boarding call, super out of breath, but with a wide smile on his face.
“My alarm didn’t go off,” he says by way of explanation for his sweaty, disheveled self. “In all the excitement yesterday, I must’ve set it for 6:30pm somehow. If it hadn’t been for Mia calling me when she was leaving her apartment, I don’t think I would’ve made it. I’m lucky I live relatively close to the airport.”
“Well, Niall,” Daniel clears his throat and smirks at him. “We’re, um, glad you’re here.” He glances at Mia, who narrows her eyes at him.
“Me too!” Niall agrees, oblivious to the clear venom in Daniel’s voice.
Luckily, their boarding number is called then, before Mia can say anything to Daniel that might damage her career. They are sitting in business class, which is a first for both Mia and Niall. They’re assigned seats are next to each other, which they appreciate. The looks that they’re getting from Daniel and James are unpleasant, to say the least. Mia is a bit uncomfortable when she realizes that she’s the only woman in their group, but then she remembers that it was supposed to be Andrew, James, Daniel, George, and Sue. There aren’t that many women in the office, she realizes, and somehow that calms her enough that she falls right into a deep sleep that carries her all the way to Florida.
***
“Wake up, Mia!” Niall whisper-shouts into her ear.
She sits bolt upright, obviously startled, and then slouches a bit and swats at him. “You scared me!”
“Sorry. I guess I had too much coffee. We’re about to land in Florida, by the way. That’s why I was waking you.”
“Oh, okay, cool.” Mia says, and turns to snuggle back into her comfy seat. But then his words register. “What?! We’re here?!” she squeals, and then, realizing that she’s in public, quiets herself. She’s still bouncing in her seat a little when the pilot announces the time, the weather, and that they’ve arrived.
Mia and Niall catch up with the rest of the group at baggage claim, as they’d rushed off the plane as soon as they could. The two friends get stuck behind a family of six who were blocking the end of the gangway to the plane by taking a selfie with the “Welcome to Orlando” sign. The family is clearly headed to Disney World, but Niall and Mia still think they have the better end of the stick. Once everyone has their luggage, the group gets into a set of two waiting cars. Daniel and James get into the first one, and Andrew insists on getting into the second with Mia and Niall to prepare them for their first full-team meeting.
When they get to the sports complex, the driver tells them that their bags will be brought to their hotel rooms and will be there when they arrive there in the evening. They all nod, and step out of the car. Mia is on autopilot and silent, taking everything in, when they arrive at the fancy boardroom where they’ll be having the meeting. Mia is the last of the group to enter, and when she does, she loses her breath for a moment out of shock. Her eyes sweep the room, looking at all the players, and she locks eyes with Harry Styles.

My Hot Gym Instructor
It has been a while since I wrote on this blog! Not that many people are waiting to hear what sad event has happened next in my life but here we are. However, this time I thought I would tell you something fun (maybe happy?). The ongoing saga of my Hot Gym Instructor.
So, since finishing my term at uni and moving back home for the summer, I have joined back at my old gym, affectionately known to my family as “The Club”. It is a high-end gym with tennis courts, swimming pool and the token posh retired ladies - you know the type. Since retiring, my mother has been on a bit of a fitness craze, going to the gym every weekday and taking classes intimidatingly called ‘Synergy’ - and yes they are as difficult as they sound.
Anyway, for the last few summers that I have been back, there has been a gorgeous gym instructor that I have fancied. He’s not your typical floppy-haired, heavily-tattooed gym buff PT. No, he is a baby-faced, well built but conservative normal guy - although he does have a very nice bum.
My mum got me to sign up to all her regular gym classes - including synergy first thing on a Monday morning. I dressed and went to the class - and to my dismay/surprise/delight/dread my crush PT was taking the class. 45 mins of exhaustion later I was red-faced and very sweaty. To my embarrassment, he continually would come over to me during the class and fix my form or tell me to do something differently - I made a great first impression. On top of that - he already knew my mum - great.
My shoulder was giving me trouble so booked in at the spa at the club for a sports massage - 30mins of me time for the next day, I couldn’t wait.
I went in the next day for a similar class, with a different PT, but he was still kicking about with other clients - he must think I am very unfit after seeing me red-faced and struggling amongst the older ladies in the class.
I returned to the club in the afternoon for my sports massage, I was ready to be treated and to finally relax my shoulder. I waited in the reception and flicked through my phone and who comes out to get me for my massage but my Hot Gym Instructor! I could hardly believe my eyes, it was a mix of dread and delight - my crush was going to be giving me a massage - yes please.
I went into the room and he remembered me from the previous day (result?), I told him my problems with my shoulder and he then asked me to take my top and bra off so he could get to work on my shoulder. He stepped out the room whilst I got myself ready - I started stressing - what if my back was the worst he had seen, what if he could tell that my slim frame held more fat on it than my skinny body suggests, what if I had spots. It was all very worrying. I got onto the bed and lay down. He asked me a few nice questions about my degree, exclaiming that it sounded difficult - I shrugged it off with a hint of embarrassment - he now also knew I was a complete geek! He oiled up his hands and got to work on my shoulder. WOW - he has the hands of God. Every movement so precise and with the exact pressure I needed. The thirty minutes flew by. He ended the massage by lifting the towel up over my back and pressing the excess oil off my back, gently as if I could break under his hand - little did he know.
I got myself ready and then headed out of the room, he had waited at reception to talk to me about the next course of action - drink plenty of water, take it easy at the gym tomorrow and get back to TRAINING on Thursday. TRAINING?? I thought I trained - I nearly died, but I’ll take that! He suggested that I come in next week and I, maybe too enthusiastically, said yes. I then went home one very happy girl!
So as any 21st century girl should do, I had a little online stalk of him. I found out we had a few mutual friends, he was probably taught by my dad when he was at school, and he is only 2 years older than me - result! He is somewhat obtainable! However, I have still to work out if he is taken or not. But for now I am content with my gym crush, and it definitely makes me want to workout harder and more often so results all around!
Will post on any further details - hopefully they’ll be a happy part 2!

I rewatch Thor: Ragnarök and it still a good movie. I love the music and the colors, and of course the story isn't bad either.
Tumblr media
This movie is a colorbomb with humor. I like the characters even Hela and maybe it is the best Thor movie. So there is the best song from Thor Ragnarök.

I found enough workouts for a week. So keep calm and train like a norse god. Thanks to neilarey and darebee.

How an Attorney Shed 110 Pounds
Tumblr media
The Guy: John Bauer Age: 50 Home: St. Charles, MO Occupation: Asst. Prosecuting Attorney Height: 6’ 4” Starting weight: 345 lbs. Current weight: 235 lbs. Total weight misplaced: 110 lbs. Outside of an unsuccessful stint on his tennis staff, in regards to the closest John Bauer received to being a high-school athlete at Mendota (Ill.) High School was being a mathlete. Throw in the truth that he was obese, was in French Club, sang within the choir, performed clarinet within the band—effectively, it doesn’t take a highschool diploma to determine that the jocks weren’t particularly variety to him again then. PE courses had been particularly unhealthy. “It was horrible,” Bauer says. “I hated gym class. The gym locker was the worst place in the building. It was never something that I made a focus, and that continued through law school. I started a habit of drinking insane amounts of Diet Coke, and I remember making bowls of cookie batter and eating that in law school. It was almost useless to work out.” After getting married and having a toddler, he had reached 345 lbs. Bauer’s Triathlon Workout Plan
That dash triathlon was only the start. Bauer employed a triathlon coach and in 2015 completed two half-Ironman (70.Three complete miles) races, finishing his transformation from highschool nerd to a badass assistant prosecuting legal professional and jock. His exercises for the triathlon through the spring/summer time/fall are a mixture of the three disciplines, with three days every of swimming, biking and operating, together with a weekend-long day of “brick” work, following a motorcycle trip instantly with a run to imitate the triathlon race day. Bauer hits the health club six days every week. Motivation is fleeting. There are quite a lot of days I’m not motivated to go to the health club, to eat effectively. It takes self-discipline. “And, you don’t want to wish bad on other people who have let themselves go. Plus, nobody is themself when they’re in high school. A lot of people have changed, physically or personally, over 30 years. One of the things that motivates me is that I get messages on Facebook from people back in high school who tell me that I inspire them. My evil step sisters
This is a work of fiction
...........................................................
Tumblr media
Having read enough fairy tales, I was mentally prepared for an evil step mother when my father remarried.
My biological mother passed on when I was really young and I barely had any impression of her. My father raised me single handed while running his export business.
He eventually got to know my stepmum, Wen. Wen is the complete opposite of what fairy tales describe stepmothers to be.
She did not try to give me a poison apple nor did she deprive me of clothes or force me to do housework. Wen is caring, kind and is a very patient women.
She is capable at work too and she gets along really well with my father.
I’m truly happy that he found her as a life partner because I know she will take care of him.
I was 16 when they got married. Not exactly young but not yet an adult. It was my ‘o’ level year but I knew I have no hope of passing.
I just didn’t like studying. The only thing I enjoyed doing is to read. Novels, story books, fables, everything. I would devour it all. No prizes for guessing where is the favourite place to spend my time.
The library.
I’m also quiet and reserved in school with few friends. I don’t really enjoy talking and interaction, so you can pretty much imagine how much of a geek I am.
That quiet little kid in the corner of the class that can sometimes be forgotten.
I just want to be left in my world of books.
With my dad’s marriage, comes new addition to the family.
My stepmother, Wen is a divorcee, she has a pair of twin daughters from her previous marriage.
Cindy & Bella are identical twins, they are one year older than me.
When I was introduced to them, they were studying at one of the top Junior college in the country.
Cindy & Bella , are the complete opposite of their mother in terms of character.
They are the kind of evil stepsisters that belonged to fairy tales and fables.
What made things worst was that My father and I moved in to stay with them for easier commute.
I have a direct bus to my school while my stepsisters can simply walk to their elite Junior college along Bukit Timah.
My stepmother’s place is a private property with 3 bedrooms.
So when we shift in, one of my stepsister, Bella, has to vacate her room to make space for me.
Can you imagine what this does to a teenage girl ?
The amount of hate and contempt they already harboured for me went up several folds.
On the surface, Cindy and Bella are really nice and sweet.
They will smile and say everything is fine, they don’t mind it at all and they welcome a little brother into the family. They even offered to give me tuition to help me improve my grades.
However, once the adults are gone, which is something very frequent, they will show their true colours.
My dad and my stepmother travel frequently for work.
It was always a couple of days to Hong Kong or Shenzhen. They never stayed long because they wanted to spend more time with us but as their business takes off, their trips start to get longer.
Still, they did their best to keep it within 3 to 4 days max.
Now, during the days when they are not around, my life became a living hell around Cindy and Bella.
No one will be able to tell how dark their hearts are from the surface.
They are so pretty and hot. My twin step sisters were frequently named the belle of their cohort. At 1.6m tall with long shapely legs, Cindy and Bella had no lack of suitors.
There is always some guy walking them home.
Every couple of days, there would be deliveries of flowers or gifts to the house.
Cindy and Bella not only look good, they are smart too, already getting that coverted ‘A’ which has eluded me since Primary school.
My ordeal starts the moment my parents leave for the airport.
Bella : get out of my room James… you stupid dick….and change back the bedsheets to my old one….
James : ok….
I would first be evicted out of my room.
I was made to change the bedsheets and covers and bring whatever stuff I needed out because I would not be allowed to enter that room again until my parents are back.
The sofa is where I would sleep.
The harassment did not stop there.
My stepsisters are hot and I’m just a growing male. Like many others, I would steal glances at their body.
Sometimes I would get a hard erection staring at their legs.
Cindy and Bella are aware of my darting eyes, they know, yet they deliberately tease me.
Sometimes Cindy would walk around the house without bra.
Sometimes Bella would put on a pair of loose cotton shorts and take the seat opposite me. She would cross her legs seductively and watch my reaction.
I wanted to read my book but it was too distracting.
I kept wanting to steal glances at my step sisters.
Cindy : what are you looking at ?? you pervert….are you a pervert??? Is that what you are ???
Sometimes they would lash out at me if they are not in the right mood or when it’s the time of the month.
Bella : You are a loser James you know that…. This is Singapore…. If you are not good in your studies… that’s it… you are a loser….!!
Verbal abuses are just the tip of the iceberg.
They would throw their worn clothes at me.
Cindy would go workout at the gym in the condo and come back with her t-shirt soaked in sweat. She would remove it and drape it over my head without warning.
Cindy : hahaha.. hahaha Bella help…. Quick !!
James : arhhhh..ahhh.. no… no  … please stop….anhhh
I would get an instant hardon.
Cindy’s fresh perspiration smelled so good and she forcibly held her top around my face. Bella would quickly jump me too.
The sisters would laugh and amuse themselves at how weak and useless I am.
My hardon did not go unnoticed.
Bella would force my legs apart and tried to take photo for my hardon.
Bella : look… sick pervert….hahaha… Sis… look… James like your wet t-shirt smell… hahaha… he’s having a hardon… hahah…
Cindy :take picture of it… quick !!
I’m not only quiet and reserve, my body is pretty frail as well. Not that I fall sick all the time but my stepsisters are a lot stronger than me too.
Cindy swims everyday and represents her school in national competitions.
Bella is a member of the school track and field.
So you can imagine how inadequate I am despite me being a male.
I had to do all the dishes, wash all the clothes and keep the house clean while my parents were away.
I had to hand wash my step sister’s panties and bra with them standing behind me. They enjoyed watching me do it.
Cindy : I bet he will take and smell if we are not looking….
Bella : he’s such a faggot…. I think he will wear them hahaha
My stepsisters laughed as they continued their jest.
When I brought home my ‘O’ level results, it was terrible. The only pass I got was an ‘A’ for English. I flung the rest of the subjects.
Wen and my dad are pretty understanding. They knew I don’t like studying so they didn’t force me.
In front of the adults, Cindy put her arm around my shoulders and encouraged me.
Cindy : it’s ok James….results is not everything….
Bella : yeah…. Cheer up…. I’m sure once you find your field of interest…. You will excel….
Wen : I’m so glad to see you kids get along so well together….
Dad : yeah… me too… I was still worried initially about you guys….
My stepsisters reassured our parents everything is fine and that they will always be there for me if I need them.
Wen : Then I think it’s time we tell you our plans to expand the business….
There is a lot of opportunities abroad , which is why our parents are suggesting that they fly out every Monday, coming back only on Friday.
My heart dropped when I heard that news and I could see Cindy and Bella fighting back their grins.
From the looks on their faces, they were definitely looking forward to spend more time alone with me.
The abuse and tease got worse.
Cindy would walk out of her room without bra. Can you imagine that ? I was shocked of course and of course I looked.
Cindy : what are you looking at ?? you pervert !!!
She would cover her tits then slap me and hit me on my head.
I would apologise but it was not enough for her.
Bella said that it was only fair that I show them my privates since I saw theirs.
If was not a request, it was a instruction.
Cindy held onto me before Bella pulled my pants down, exposing my hardon.
Bella : ooooohhhh….. Little brother is not that little after all…. Hahaha
Cindy : hahaha… ohhhhh James… pervert…. See my tits and get hardon…. Hahaha
I felt truly helpless but there is nothing I could do.
Both my step sisters have my naked pictures on their phones.
Cindy and Bella took my daily allowance of $15 as well, and if I wanted it back, I was to beg and work for it.
Bella: Stick my sanitary pad for me on my panty…. Do it and I’ll give you $2…. Hahah
Cindy : take off my socks for me James….hahah.. with your mouth….ill give you $5…. Hahah
Bella : Sis…!!! You are sick !!! you’ve been wearing that pair of socks for 3 days already…. !!
Cindy : hahaha yeah… and I sweat quite a bit lately….
I had no choice, I wanted the money.
Peace only comes when the girls went to school and I could go to my library. I would spend most of my time there , returning home only when the library closes.
This went on for a while until it suddenly stopped.
They stopped picking on me out of the blue. It was abrupt.
Eventually I found out they were attached, they have boyfriends now. Both of them. Another pair of twins in the same school
I was so thrilled that they no longer had time for me.
I was finally left alone, for a while.
A while.
It lasted about 3 months and just before their ‘A’ levels, they broke up.
Both broke up.
It was initiated by the guys.
When they came back home screaming and shouting at me that day, I knew something was wrong.
Terribly wrong.
Their first relationship did not turn out to be that fairy tale they envisioned it would be.
Cindy and Bella snapped.
A switch has been flicked.
I could see it in their eyes.
It was a Friday and the adults are due back in a couple of hours, I was safe for the weekend.
However I could see with each passing moment, Cindy and Bella are both hoping that my parents leave for their work.
On that Monday morning, the family had breakfast together at the table.
My parent’s luggage were packed and ready by the door.
My stepsisters are already in their JC uniforms.
I was dressed too, I intend to leave home immediately and not come back until it’s late at night.
I wanted to avoid Cindy and Bella.
Wen : alright… we got a flight to catch… behave yourselves okay….
Cindy : we will…
Dad : alright.. see you all end of the week….
I got up too but Bella held onto my wrist.
Bella : James… sit…. I have something to discuss with you….
I don’t want to but Cindy chipped in.
Cindy : It’s your birthday this week right… let us celebrate it for you….
James : No… it’s ok…it’s ok…..
Dad : That’s a good idea…. We’ll be back late on Friday….we’ll do a family lunch on Saturday…..
Bella : No worries… we will celebrate with James…
Cindy : yeah… our little brother’s 17th birthday !! yeyyyy!!
I looked at our parents , hoping I could telepathically send them a help message but I can’t.
I watched them leave the house and the click of the lock sounded louder than I remembered.
Cindy and Bella’s smile left their faces as I tried to back away to go back to my room.
Cindy : come here !!
Bella : JAMES !!
James :what… what… what did I do… ?? what did I do wrong now… ?
Cindy : men are all pigs ….
Bella : The only wrong thing you did…. Is being born a man…
I can’t believe they are taking out their failed relationship on me.
Cindy suddenly grabbed my privates and I groaned in pain. Bella yanked my hair forcefully to the side.
James :ahhhh.. arghhhhhhhh… please… stop…..
From the look in their eyes, I knew my life with my stepsisters would never be the same again.
My role is not just that of a stepbrother.
I was their punching bag, I was their stress buster.
And the most unfortunate thing of all, I was made to….
I was made to…
I was forced to pleasure my stepsisters in ways I never knew possible.

1. Test Your Mettle in Vancouver’s Mountains
BCMC Trail
Free, open June–September, daylight hours

A post shared by Ben Clarke (@benthomasclarke) on Apr 16, 2016 at 10:53am PDT
One of the best things to do in Vancouver is to get outside into the extraordinary nature surrounding the city.
You might have heard of the Grouse Grind, that famous Vancouver hiking trail where locals secure bragging rights for the fastest time and post sweaty selfies at the top, high-fiving their friends.
But have you heard of the BCMC Trail? This 4.5km trail offers a less busy, less touristy alternative to the Grouse Grind with the same potential for sweaty selfies and high-fives. Both these hikes are very challenging and steep, so only suitable for fit and experienced hikers with proper shoes!
Open from June to September, the BCMC (BC Mountaineering Club) Trail starts off at the same place as the Grind, which is easily accessible using the local bus.
The BCMC soon diverts to the right onto the Baden Powell trail. This trail is well marked and leads you to the same destination as the Grind — the Grouse Mountain Chalet.
The BCMC trail is a more technical route than the Grind, with more roots and rocks to navigate, but the terrain is less monotonous than the never-ending stairs of the Grind. You can bring your dog (no dogs are permitted on the Grind), too! The BCMC is slightly longer than the Grind, averaging 10 minutes longer on ascent, around 1.5 hours in total. You can also descend the BCMC, although most opt to take the Grouse on the way down.
The best part about climbing the BCMC trail is that the usual Grouse Grind crowd is absent. It is more of hiking trail and is not marketed as a tourist attraction.
Both the Grouse Grind and the BCMC trail offer a great workout, but if you’re looking for a more traditional hiking trail without the crowds, try the BCMC trail.
2. Enjoy the World’s Longest Waterfront
Vancouver Seaside Greenway
Free, always open, perfect for a sunset stroll
You’ll get exceptional views walking the seawall in Vancouver.
Vancouver’s Seaside Greeway is the world’s longest uninterrupted waterfront path! It’s a great option for walkers, cyclists, and even roller bladers.
Now 28km long, the Seaside Greenway encompasses the famous Stanley Park Seawall, the Vancouver Convention Centre, and Spanish Banks Park. You can stroll your chosen section or rent a bike to explore the entire path.
(Note: Biking in Vancouver is one of My Five Acres’s favourite activities!)
Be aware that the Seawall is divided along its length to give cyclists and inline skaters their own space. If you’re walking, stay on the pedestrian side of the path. Cyclists should go slowly and watch out for stray pedestrians!
Starting from the beginning at Canada Place in Coal Harbour, you can stroll into Stanley Park and join locals and tourists out for their daily exercise. You’ll get to see the beautiful Lions Gate Bridge and the North Shore s, passing by Second Beach and HMCS Discovery along the way.
Leaving Stanley Park 9km later, you’ll find yourself on the English Bay side of downtown, passing by Sunset Beach Park. If you’re looking for romantic things to do in Vancouver, an evening stroll along this section of the seawall, with the city lights twinkling on the water, is ideal.
From here, you can hop on the Aquabus to go Granville Island.
Or, keep walking and the route will take you all the way past Science World and into the new Vancouver neighbourhood that was the Athletes Village for the 2010 Winter Olympics.
If you’re still feeling keen and energetic, continue past Granville Island and into Vanier Park and Kits Beach. Here, you can try beach volleyball, bake in the sun, and swim in the ocean or the iconic Kits Pool. The bike route continues beyond Kits Beach through to the UBC area and Pacific Spirit Park.
3. Walking Meditation in a Greek-Style Labyrinth
St. Paul’s Anglican Church Labyrinth
Free, Tue–Fri 8:30–9:30am, Sun 10am–noon, 2nd and last Friday each month, 7pm–9pm
The St. Paul’s Labyrinth in Vancouver is based on this traditional style of labyrinth. Photo by David Clay Photography, own work, CC BY-SA 4.0.
If you Google “labyrinth” these days, you’ll find results that include films, artwork, operas, TV mini-series, card games and more.
However, in Vancouver’s St. Paul’s Anglican Church, you’ll find a Labyrinth that adheres to the original meaning of the word — an ancient pattern first found in Greek mythology and widely used all over the world in the decorative arts.
The Labyrinth at St. Paul’s Church is a 13m replica of the medieval labyrinth found at the 13th century Chartres Cathedral in France.
Opened in 1996, the labyrinth is used for a form of walking meditation.
Painted on the gym floor and almost 500m from start to finish, the labyrinth is open to the public and is used for a variety of purposes, which include reflection, healing, celebration and more.
On the last Friday of every month, there is live music to enjoy while you experience the serenity of walking meditation. Recent guest artists have included cellists, pianists, throat singers, and harpists.
On my recent visit to the Labyrinth, I really fell in love with the experience! There was a soothing atmosphere in the Labyrinth space and the physical movement of walking through the labyrinth seemed to calm my mind. I’ll definitely be returning.
4. Test Your Board Game Chops Against Local Gamers
The Storm Crow Tavern
Mon–Sat, 11am–1am, Sun, 11am–12am
The Storm Crow Tavern in Vancouver is like a sports bar, but for geeks. Photo via Storm Crow Tavern.
The original Nerd Bar in Vancouver, the Storm Crow Tavern on Commercial Drive has a low-key environment that welcomes everyone from gob-smacked tourists to nerdy metalheads.
You’ll never see a hockey game on the TV here. Instead, you’ll find Game of Thrones, Star Trek or other science fiction and fantasy shows.
The Storm Crow encourages guests to play board and card games, and has literally hundreds of different games available, divided into appetizers (less than 30 minutes), light fare (up to 60 minutes), and main course (more than an hour).
Nerd Heaven
Everything from backgammon to Carcassonne to a Lord of the Rings Trivia Game is on the menu. If you’re keen to try something new, you’ll find it at The Storm Crow.
This is technically one of the almost free things to do in Vancouver, because you will need to order something. But the staff won’t mind if you just get a coffee and play a game with your friends. If you’re coming alone, there will be plenty of friendly people (Canadians are the friendliest!) looking to add another person to their game.
The Storm Crow often hosts special event nights, too, so check their Facebook page for all the latest. A visit to the Storm Crow is one of the most fun activities in Vancouver.
5. Move Your Body at a Karma Yoga Class
You can always hold your own yoga session right on Vancouver’s amazing beaches.
If you’ve always wanted to try yoga, or just want a welcoming place to practice while on holiday, there are plenty of places for free yoga in Vancouver.
Lululemon, which was born in Vancouver, offers complimentary yoga at several locations in and around Vancouver. Confirm with the store if you plan to attend.
Sundays: 8:45am at Robson Street 9:30am at Oakridge
Mondays: 8pm at Kitsilano
Tuesdays: 6:30pm at Lulu Lab (Cambie)
Thursdays: 7:30am at Robson Street (ESL focus)
Some stores also have running and guided meditation classes, so if you’re looking for other active free things to do in Vancouver, check in with them.
Unity Yoga Tea house on Commercial drive offers weekly Karma Classes that only require donation of non-perishable item for the food bank.
For a very “Vancouver” experience, try Rooftop Yoga in downtown Vancouver. This is a donation-based studio, with an emphasis on embodiment of self-hood, offers two evening classes alternating weekly.
6. Take a Free Walking Tour
Various Locations Around the City
Free, a tip is expected if you enjoy the tour
You may well stop by the exceptional Vancouver Public Library on your free Vancouver walking tour.
Central Vancouver is a relatively small area and a great place to walk. There are lots of local walking tour companies offering tours to some of the best Vancouver tourist attractions. While there is no fee upfront, the tour guides welcome tips at the end of the tour if you enjoy it.
Vancouver’s original free walking tour company is the Tour Guys. They host a variety of tours of downtown Vancouver and Granville Island that run seasonally from March to September. Their walking tour of Chinatown is particularly popular, as Vancouver’s original Chinatown was the largest in Canada, and second only to San Francisco in North America.
Another well-rated free walking tour operator is Freetour.com, who offer a great All-Canadian Free Walking Tour. This 3-hour tour hits all the highlights of downtown Vancouver, including the Gastown Steam Clock, the Terry Fox Memorial, and Dr. Sun Yat Sen park. This introductory tour to Vancouver runs daily (except Mondays).
7. Get Involved in Volunteerism
Various Locations, Go Volunteer Website
Free, choose a time that suits your schedule
There are plenty of people and animals you can meet doing volunteer work in Vancovuer.
If you want to get to know some Vancouver locals while helping others and developing your own skills, try volunteering in Vancouver. Volunteering is a great non-touristy thing to do in Vancouver!
Finding volunteer opportunities in Vancouver is easy thanks to the Go Volunteer website.
You can sort volunteering opportunities by your interests and location, the type of skills required, as well as keywords. If you’re interested in volunteering in a particular sector, like children’s activities or horticulture, search using those terms to find opportunities that interest you.
Short- and Long-Term Gigs
I’ve found both short- and long-term volunteer gigs on Go Volunteer.
If you’re in Vancouver for a short time, opportunities like volunteering as an usher at the Vancouver Fringe Festival might be for you. If you’re into non-traditional live performances, this is a great gig. Other Vancouver festivals such as the Vancouver Film Festival also use this site as a resource for finding their volunteers.
If you’re warm-hearted soul, senior’s homes always welcome visitors to help with recreational programming or just sitting down with a resident for a cup of coffee and a chat.
Visiting Vancouver’s beaches is an exception free activity in Vancouver.
