When I began this semester, I was really trying to rebel against my previous methods of making. I didn’t want to create any more highly detailed patterns that took me hours to complete, I wanted to try something a bit looser – like the works I’ve included by Etel Adnan and Cy Twombly, and the Abstract Expressionists. I started doing more scribbly artworks, but they didn’t really say anything. It was just scribbly drawing for scribbly’s sake. This exercise was probably helpful in that it made me realise that I’m attracted to a highly detailed, obsessively drawn patterns for a reason.

Working within a pattern that I’ve hand drawn provides structure for me, and it allows me to focus my energy on which colours I want to use – rather than trying to split my attention between colour and form. Like Hiromi Tango, Yayoi Kusama and Agnes Martin, working obsessively on tiny details is closely related to my own psyche. Chronic and severe anxiety makes it so that my mind and body are always on high alert, and I constantly feel like I have energy to expend. Painting detailed patterns and weaving baskets gives my busy mind something stable to think about, and it also makes me tired. It’s been the best thing for my mental health by a mile.

I’m really interested that most of the artworks I’ve included in my blog are by women artists, with the exception of works by Dan Colen, Cy Twombly and Damien Hirst – with Colen and Hirst having close ties to the concept of “the edible”. While Colen uses actual chewed-up foodstuffs (gum), Hirst evokes confectionary with his candy coloured dollops of paint.

I don’t know that my work is specifically feminist, but I definitely think it is feminine, and this is reflected in the artists I’ve chosen to feature on this blog. There’s something very domestic and feminine about the way that the quilters of Gee’s Bend and Sonia Delaunay “make do” with materials that they have on them, and repurpose them into art objects. Saving and repurposing materials is very important to my own art practice, and I try to minimise any waste that I can. What I’m learning about my approach to these discarded items, is that I think there’s beauty in them, and I ask myself: why waste these beautiful objects by discarding them, when I could honour them by making them into something else?

Throughout this semester, my focus has really shifted from free-play to understanding my processes of making. I’ve been told, and I believe that (at this level of academia) it’s not enough to just play if I don’t understand why I’m playing – so I’ve been doing a lot of introspection. Through looking at my own artwork and the work of others, I’ve been able to see that my artwork is process-driven, and that the process itself provides me with feelings of catharsis. I’m able to transform old, scrappy objects into something beautiful but I’m also able to transform feelings of anxiety and hypervigilance into something else: a release.

So I find it funny that now Johanne is getting shit for decisions she hasn't even made yet. They're not even married yet (not that that really means much anymore when having kids) to have kids. But MAYBE they want to move her in so it'll be "perfect" like he said (I imagine moving is difficult during a travelling musical, but she's partially already there lol clothes wise). Then get engaged, be married for a little bit before kids and just enjoy the time together? Like a regular or Normal life!  Unless they want to have them right now. Their careers are going well. They've got projects lined up. I thought people were saying they're moving " too fast" lol? Now people are saying she's going to withhold babies from him? Give them a minute lol. Let them move at their pace, not yours. They'll live how they want to live.

They've moved the goalposts of hate once again. Maybe it's bc they look so happy? 😊 maybe it's bc she's moving in?

Now the hate narrative is going this way....Some have decided she only pretends to be motherly to trap Alex.  😂😂😂 Some have decided that her career is too big now for her to stop and have a child. Really? They can read minds through pictures and videos on instagram? 😂😂😂 again that's not how gut feelings work (in person contact is needed). This really makes me laugh. The mental rhythmic gymnastics behind hyper focused negativity towards this lady is astonishing.

But even COO's of F500 fame have children, as women. Ballet dancers start families and go back to their careers too. Actresses have been giving birth and going back to studios many times.

She could probably take 2-3 years off after Wicked and then make a comeback easy, for the right part. And considering Askepots success and her talent, they'll probably want her back too. 😊😊😊 same for Alex.

And with Wicked lined up, unless a surprise happens (I don't like using the word accident for a baby, but surprises!) 😊😊😊  I doubt they'd be actively trying for one right now (just a guess). What's wrong with that? Nothing. 

Also isn't this the same "fan" group/ haters that predicted she'd already be pregnant? Or will be pregnant any day now. 😂 Using that to "trap him" or "keep him." By estimation of these guesses she should've already given birth before Askepot premiered. lol. 😂😂😂

If she gets pregnant watch, they'll flip the script BACK again and say she did it to trap him, manipulate him etc. Even if it happens after marriage. Lol

the hate she gets is getting more irrational by the day.  But they keep changing up hate theories for them both, to recycle later. Rinse and repeat. 😂😂😂

Sidenote: I can't imagine if they get engaged and she starts planning a wedding and posts like Gee Hirst is posting for her wedding, how much absolute hate she'll get for posting anything. Anyway love Gee Hirst too, and I love her posts about her wedding, hair, dress and her ring! She's so happy! Makes me happy. 😊😊😊 But if Johanne ever does even a fraction of the same kind of posts for anything, the hate will flow through the haters like they're Palpatine.

Also I think most of his follower loss has been mostly from Bots. Meta deletes billions of bots every quarter from FB & IG so I don't think his numbers go down bc people are actively unfollowing him. It's just bots. Lol they target celeb accounts for some reason, and then get deleted. One article estimated bots account for 28% of the followers on celeb accounts. There's even a feature now for users to review and delete bots, maybe he's deleting them? Or Meta is. 😊😊😊 so I'm not sure why that's a big deal to some people either. Or proof that he's not taking care of fans, or its somehow magically her fault.

gee Hirst was even worse than red! she posted a lot of questionable stuff, like a photo with her wearin his shirt and a slip laying on a sofa with the caption "that happens when you leave your belongings at my place", commented her thirst under his photos (she too used to post "snaaaaaack") and lots of other stuff. she was giving her everything to let people know that she is humping her. and personally I believe he was very calculating with everything he did with her, after all she is the producers daughter (does anyone notice something here BTW? 😅😅😅). she has recently deleted all this stuff but it was there for a loooong time.

It's actually a bit interesting, if we compare both his relationships with Gee and Fanny, and try to find a pattern. As with Fanny (and this is just a theory!), I thought she used to have a crush on Alex, and it was probably him who never took things further, because he didn't have enough feelings for her to be in a serious relationship, and in case things ended badly between them, her father would obviously take her side and it would decrease his career opportunities, considering his better roles since Vikings happen to be in Ole Bornedal's movies. Could it have been the same with Gee back then? 🤷‍♀️

I too find it weird that the same people talking about Johanne used to describe MK, Rikke, and Fanny the same exact way. Down to the same wording. Except they used to go after MK'S tattoos like they're a bad thing. People were awful about her, and the rest. Now Johanne and his family and friends are getting it too.

Now they act like a friendship, spanning 7 years, is something "more"  bc he likes her posts. Lol I bet he likes a lot of people's/friends posts, guys and girls. Probably a lot of private accounts too bc a lot of his friends went private bc people kept posting his friends' videos and pics. I don't understand why he can't like any of the accounts he follows without it causing a stir. Lol liking a post isn't a big deal lol. People can be friends, it's not like he doesn't have TON of female friends lol. I doubt he's still pining for her, and probably hasn't for a long long time.

It's not like he hasn't dated since or before (Olivia who rejected him supposedly 2017).
