Thinking about Bucky finding out that Peggy not only let Zola be hired but did to herself and being broken. He knows she probably didn’t have a lot of control over the paper clip stuff, but there’s reports of her actively going to Zola for more than infomation but advice.

It’s yet another trust broken, but it only gets worse when he realises that Steve knew and still went back to her.

So I just found out that during world war 2 some soldiers would crossdress to entertain the troops and raise moral and now all I can think about is Steve crossdressing (because who else could raise moral better than Capitan America?).

He would show up and Bucky would see him and goddamn, that was perfect. Steve with his face all made up like a dame, a cute skirt and frilly blouse, his strong legs covered by stockings that crept up to his thighs. And Bucky, his cheeks all red from arousal and that nervous "holy shit he's so pretty" feeling fluttering in his belly, his eyes would be so wide, drinking in his lover and his pretty getup.

The man’s got nice hands, Bucky thinks as Steve takes an expensive SI tablet – the latest model, the lucky bastard – and shows them sketches of each room, swiping from photos of how they are now, to drawings of how he envisions them. As he zooms in and out of the pictures, details appear, arrows pointing to original fixtures he wants to preserve, colored squares highlighting what he wants to do away with and, on the right side of the screen, there is a list of the materials he wants to use as replacement.

He’s got big hands, with nice long fingers, and perfectly clean and square nails. There’s a feathering of blond hairs on his knuckles, and his gold wedding band shines under the sunlight that’s peeking through the dirty window panes.

Rich, talented, and handsome, can he be any more annoying?

It’s really exciting to learn more about how MCU Bucky is based on Arnie Roth. I didn’t know anything much about the comics, so didn’t realize how much of Bucky’s backstory had been changed. I tend to be drawn to fics about Jewish Bucky, and I almost always write him as Jewish, even though I’m not Jewish myself-- but something about it just felt right. Now I know why!

Obviously, it’s a shame the MCU didn’t honor the fact that Arnie was gay and Jewish when they based Bucky off of him. It’s neat to know that the connection exists, though!
