So interesting. It was my first time writing for sonic so don’t go too harsh on me 😞. And yes everything is fine! Just school stressing me out lmao. But I hope you enjoy!

It was in that shack where you and your friends often came to hang out because it was an unused and empty place in the middle of the forest that you found that white haired man resting after a long and tough fight.

It couldn’t even be considered resting the way he looked. Blood dripping down his body like water. Of course you immediately tended to him without thinking twice.

You were a B-class hero. Downplayed to the support role, a mere healer. People - especially the association did not see the potential in you. It always bothered you but in this situation you were lucky. God knows what Garou would have done if he had seen your name in the Heroes lexicon instead of just skipping the Pages with the B-class ranked heroes.

One instance lead to the other and it became the norm healing him up whenever he got injured. You developed a weak spot for him. The way he sat on the dust filled couch with his legs spread and his head leaned back. Always making snarky remarks. And always being shirtless.

“It’s great I have ya. Got my own private hopsital.”

“You good? Stop starin at my abs and heal them damnit..”

And of course he has a soft spot for you. May not show it but he cares for you in his own way.

It was when he began coming over for the most useless reasons that you realized he had a crush on you.

Like for instance before or in the middle of fights he’d come looking for you asking you to renew his energy. But after a while he came over every second day with the excuse that “What if I get into a fight?? I need all my power ya know.”

Once you start dating he eventually finds out about you being a hero. Doesn’t really care about it. He is just as upset with you that no one acknowledges your true powers and asks you if you want to join him on his hero hunting but you refuse.

That does not affect your relationship though.

Will lay on you as he lets you heal him. Is real snuggly. Will also groan extra loud to get you all flustered though.

Saitama

After some research I’ve come to the conclusion that this guy has never gotten severely injured. He does feel pain but it barely hurts.

He does get some tiny scratches from time to time though.

Those if course you heal as his partner. He insists that he doesn’t need it but secretly loves the care you provide him.

When out on Monster battles you two are the best duo to see. While he takes care of the Monsters you take care of any citizens in the area.

He admires you so much and thinks you’re like the backbone of the heroes association because in the end you’re the one who contributes to the citizens and the heroes health.

If anyone dares to say otherwise they’ll have a problem with him.

Let’s you play support in video games because you’re “made for it”

What he does love getting from you are massages though. Your massages are magical because due to your healing and energy renewing powers they make one feel refreshed.

He’ll ask for one whenever he gets the chance.

“A massage’s always good. I can seriously start to feel the back and shoulder pain at my mid-20’s.”

Sonic

At first he’s very reluctant over getting treated by you.

The chairman he works for offered him a personal assistant/nurse. Which was you of course.

This guy knows no shame. Literally strips himself naked in front of you so you could inspect “all his wounds clearly.” It takes you some bickering around for him to put his clothes back on.

Also this guy CANNOT SIT STILL FOR A SINGLE MINUTE. always has to hop on from one place to another with his super speed. It’s just more ‘comfortable’. You literally have to cuff him down sometimes for him to sit still.

And will not stop talking during the treatments. Talking about being the fastest, avenging saitama and whatsoever.

It’s like a therapy and treatment session all at once.

Once you both start dating he gets so comfortable. Will enter the room and lay on you without saying a word expecting you to treat him.

Will justify the injuries he’s gotten like it’s his job.

“Ah that one..you see there was this frick of a cyborg who did not know when to quit. He chopped my hair off too..can you believe it?!”

“See but i’m still stronger than him though. Next time I’ll bring you his head as a souvenir.”

Always a pleasant surprise when he's alone. He's probably bored anyway. One of the best cures he could have in those moments is "excitement". Exchanging texts and nudes gets him super jittery, and he loves the addictive anticipation.

Always will return the favor. Has a couple of his own in his gallery if he was ever out and received one. It's only fair in his eyes! They're also never basic he makes an effort to look like the prettiest boy for you and he does a damn good job. Not only is the cyborg body cool, the way he takes pictures with angles and perspectives makes it much more sexy.

Yes he saves all of them it's taking up a huge space on his phone storage that's also photos of you in general. Doesn't really have an urge to get off to the photos or texts because it's never the same or as satisfactory, but he still likes to appreciate them because you're attractive. (Lemme throw in though that he would definitely love to get riled up to your voice/phone sex. He would end up hanging up and showing up shortly if he's over excited)

He'll send back, but not the full deal. Garou can make more of a game out of the tease. Loves sending pics back of his dick print through his pants (usually sweatpants yessirrrr) to show you what you just did for him. ─ It didn't happen like that when Saitama saved you, although he didn't even see you, he destroyed that huge stone that was going to crush you when defeating a villain, your eyes could only look fascinated at the shine of his bald head and his bored expression.

─ He was certainly happy thinking that he had gotten a fan, but you went a little too far.

This man don't understand why are you so clingy.

Therefore, he obviously wouldn't reject your affection.

He love you after all.

One thing he's so confused too is why are you always like this. Like, he could literally be sitting on the floor playing a game with King or talking with Genos and you would have your arms around his neck with a smile on your face.

But the worst is in bed. Why are you hugging him even in bed ?? Like- come on, even here ?!

But he is used to this, so don't expect him to complain.

Afraid to hug you. Why ? Because of his strenght. He's scared that he would break some of your bones or other just by hugging you too tight.

So, if he hug you, it's just wrapping his arms around you or his hands on your waist, but it's not a little tight. That's why he like to have one of his arms around your neck, that's a way to show his affection.

But that don't restrain him to show him how much to love you though. He kiss you a lot on the cheek or the forehead, shared his food with you, love to play games with you, would obviously protect you a lot, and sometimes he even hug you back ! He just love your presence and you.

Genos

Genos is fascinate by you. At first and that's still the case, he doesn't understanded why you loved him. Did he do something ? Is it his body that hold your attention ? The fact that he was a hero ? Poor little boy is just lost.

But when he realise that he loves you too, it was weird to him. Not in the worst type of weird, but it's just something new to him.

Would ask advice to Saitama. Did he got any answer ? Of course not.

But that's not the subject.

So, i can see him a little bit like Saitama : Confused on why you are so clingy.

But, unlike Saitama, Genos is not afraid to hug you too and show you his affection. You can expect him to smile all times you hug or kiss him.

When both of you are walking, he would hold your hand by telling you how much you have all his heart. He's afraid to lose you, that is his worst nightmare.

Blushy boi. You can't tell me otherwise.

Tatsumaki

As you all know, Tatsumaki is a big tsundere. Literally the definition of a tsundere.

Most of the time, she would complain on your clingy nature. Sometimes, she would even remove your arms if you are hugging her, but that's rare. Usually, she just complain but let you showing your affection.

She act like she's pissed, but she secretly love all this. When she's alone and only when she's alone, she would fangirl on you. She don't like to seems vulnerable, not even in front of you neither in front of her sister.

But, there's one case where she would hug you back : If she's tired or in a bad mood. On these times, expect her to be as clingy as you, if not even more.

But expect her to deny this when she is better tho.

A real kid when tired or in a bad mood. Even if she don't show it, she loves you a lot. If you ever break up with her, be sure than she would be even more a tsundere, not even to you only, but to everyone.

Even though she seems cold in front of everyone, especially to the Hero Association, in front of you ? An another story.

An angel. Even softer to you than to her sister.

I love her with all my heart.

Everytime you jump on her to hug her or kiss her, she has a big smile. She gladly hug you or kiss you back, not hesitating to hold you tight.

She often take you by the hips to make you sit on her lap as she show you her affection too.

I can't tell that she's clingy, at least not as clingy as you, but she likes to hug you too.

When you two share a kiss, she usually put her hands on your cheeks as she play with your tongue.

Proud of you and not ashamed to show it, even in public.

Therefore, she's a bit less clingy in public. She has a reputation to hold after all.

But she would still accept your affection and cuddle you. Just not as clingy as when you two are alone.

genos

clearly, he is an air fryer

he was in the midst of a battle and had to save you from a monster

he usually never remembers the face of the civilians he saves but he remembers every feature of your face, and when he thinks about those features steam starts to escape his body

your full lips, your almond eyes with mascara and lash extensions, the way your brown skin was smooth and buttery.

your hair was laid, down to your back. a nice shade of blonde similar to his.

a medusa piercing, your ears pierced and a glamorous nose cuff to tie it all together.

"are you alright?" you were too much in shock and frozen in fear to reply, you could only nod before being taken away.

he realizes black girls are his type.

he's silent about his lil crush, but saitama knows

he doesn't go out of his way to look for you but if he's ever in the same area he last sees you he tends to stay around longer than he would

saitama is his wingman, he tagged along to help genos ask you out

he's an S class hero, so nobody gets suspicous of him scanning the area. they just assume he's looking for a monster

he practices his lines for what he would say if he ever came across you, it's kind of cute

he has an entry in his diary about you, it's pretty lengthy.

he soon walks into a local convenience store and finds you at the counter. you immediately recognize him and started thanking him for his service. "thank you so much for the help demon cyborg!" you look around before pulling out a pizza bun, "this is for you." you placed it in his hands with a nice big smile.

your appearance was different from the last time. your piercings were still there but your nose cuff was now replaced with a dangle cuff. a simple makeup look was now on your face, it highlighted your cheekbones and beautiful nose. your glossed lips, long lashes and soft features pulled him in. he was moving without a thought. a hiss of steam escapes his vents. he gives a stiff nod. "It was no trouble." a few more words were exchanged and genos left with your number and name.

"it's y/n. my number is (xxx) xxx-xxxx. call me anytime" you gave him a big smile, revealing your smiley piercing.

"Oy, Genos, how did it go?"

Genos showed his teacher the slip of paper. "I've gotten her contact information."

Saitama gave him a thumbs up. "Nice work."

is trying to help you get your cat back.

you usually gotten your cat yourself, but she was so high up it was impossible to get her

just your luck a bald man with a cape walked by, hands full with groceries. a sign you should let him on with his day but you were so desperate you called out to him

"please help! my cat is stuck"

he turned to you and froze in his tracks.

you weren't exactly dressed in your finest outfit, a simple hoodie with a picture of a cabbage with a pair sweats.

you havent been asleep either, so your eyes were a bit droopy and begging for rest.

your hair was slicked back into a puff ponytail. with a little hairclip in the front.

your face was completely bare, aside from some chapstick you slapped on to keep your lips from drying out.

saitama usually wasn't interested in women, but something about the simple woman standing in front of him begging for her cat back was drawing him in.

he retrieved your cat and gave her back in about 10 minutes or so.

you smiled, showing the gap in your teeth. "thanks"

saitama smiled back, giving you a thumbs up.

a few days pass and he's walking by the same area again. when he spots you. only this time you're wearing black leggings with a plain black hoodie. (and for some reason your socks were over the leggings) your hair was now in two afro puffs, and you were wearing many bracelets and jewelry.

you looked up at the same tree, same branch from last time, your cat was sitting on.

saitama wasted no time walking over and helping you once again.

"i'm in a bit of a rush sir" you clasped your hands together in a pleading motion. "please, please! if you could..."

"no worries." he placed his bag down, looked up at the cat and looked back at you. "could you stand back a bit?"

"oh-sorry!" you took a step back, before a force of wind almost knocked you off your feet. he soared into the air directly towards your cat, swiping the feline in one swoop and landing safely on his feet.

"there ya go", he stared with a simple look. you were in shock. never have you thought you would come across a man with such power. you took your kitty back into your arms a soft purr coming from her. "oh...wow...thanks er..?"

"saitama." he grabbed his bag, nodding towards you. "no problem"

you smiled, showing that cute gap off. "thank you so much saitama!"

you shook his hand. "i'm so sorry this is how we had to meet, i promise i'll make it up to you!" you pulled out your phone practically shoving it towards him. "i'm going to be busy this week, but please, call me if you ever need a favor" you gave him a warm, friendly smile.

saitama stared, was this happening? it's been so long. he entered his contact information and gave your phone back. "alright...uh..." he hadn't gotten your name. you were already halfway down the road before turning back to shout,

"it's y/n!" you waved goodbye and went on your way.

saitama went home, got settled in and almost forgot about the interaction, until...

ping! his phone rang out

"hey it's y/n! ; _ ; sorry i didnt txt earlier i was busy today! did you make it home safe?"

for the first time in a while, saitama smiled.

he was in the park with tareo and saw you cleaning up the trash.

your locs were tied back, showing off that beautiful face of yours. it felt like the sun was purposefully shining on you to enhance your beauty.

he caught himself staring before looking away and paying attention to tareo's hero book once again.

not only did he now have tareo as a reason to come to the park, he now had you.

he would get to the park purposefully early, in hopes to catch you there and it was a rare chance you were already there. you were either sitting and reading a book or cleaning trash.

soon enough he started approaching you. which was scary for you

a large, muscular, man dressed in all black was walking towards you with a devious smirk? maybe you should get your taser out

other than his appearance he was quite charming.

Haha, oh my goodness, this was such a lovely ask to get <3 I’m honestly excited to respond (and maybe a little nervous, haha). So, thank you again, beloved nonny, for asking with an open mind. :D

As I mentioned, I’m a bit nervous because the answer is likely weirder than you expect, and that’s because it’s kind of a personal answer? And I (IRL) also tend to be a lot weirder than most people expect. But when it comes to writing, that’s generally the sweet spot, so here goes nothing.

So, I tagged it as Platonic! Garou & Saitama** meaning it’s not romantic or sexual, at least, not in the traditional sense. I could talk for days about what I find appealing--I answered a similar ask on my main blog a few years ago, and my answer is still the same.

** actually I used “x” rather than “&” and in retrospect, I’m not sure if that’s correct. I’ll have to look into it more. But anyway, Garou and Saitama are foils: they have overcome similar obstacles, they grapple with similar despairs—including overwhelmingly strong emotions and/or the perceived absence of them, which is just as conspicuous and painful. I can’t help but feel if their journeys towards physical strength stem from the same place, which is that they are running from questions they don’t want to answer, and parts of themselves they’d rather avoid.

On a lighter note, though, they’re both a little goofy—I like to imagine they communicate almost exclusively in Dad jokes, and I have one scene drafted where they manage to derail a Hero Association meeting this way. You’ll find a lot of stuff under the brotp and sometimes OT3 tag, but more on that later.

In any case, I think that Garou & Saitama’s goofiness stems from the same place: time spent dwelling in dark places. I had a different reaction to That One Panel Where Saitama Threatens to Destroy the World, I thought, “hey, that’s relatable—most people who care deeply about others oscillate between pain and despair and anger, sometimes this results in dramatic outbursts, especially verbal ones; perhaps this will become a talking point later.” Based on later events/context, I no longer think that’s what the authors intended but I don’t think that interpretation is necessarily wrong—the first step to dealing with emotions is to name them. Anyway, I digress.

I myself am actually a gray ace, so when I imagine Garou and Saitama together, I just give them my ideal relationship which is all of the closeness and all of the shenanigans, but none of the sex. Because at the end of the day, I personally just want someone to gently kiss my hand and affectionately whisper “you’re the literal worst” while giving me the deepest and most genuine smile or drive up outside my window, honking and shouting “wake up, loser! We’re gonna spend all day driving around New Jersey doing nice things for people—but first we’re gonna get ice cream.”

(Anyway, if you follow my main blog or read my more personal posts, it is clear that I Have a Type. Like, really really-- I Have a Type.)

Getting back to OPM, though, when I write fics in particular (but also incorrect quotes or headcanons), I write a lot about Garou and Saitama. I think first of all because it’s fun—they’re very strong but they’re also playful. Saitama is a self-professed “hero for fun,” Garou starts out more like a “villain for fun,” and through various interactions—with each other, as well as their respective anchors—they develop an overarching, shared goal that seems initially dissonant…. but in actuality, their visions are very much the same.

Ultimately, they want a safe and peaceful world for everyone, especially the people they care about. Most importantly, they’re trying to both navigate and improve a world that they themselves always seem to peripheral to & outside of; a world that doesn’t appear to be designed for people like them—even before they gained their incredible abilities.

When it comes to their interpersonal dynamics, though, I think that Saitama has this incredible and interesting ability to provoke reactions in other people without intimidating them. That's the role of the "Wise Fool" character, and I believe that's the archetype Saitama falls into. That levity helps others feel safer as they question their own goals and motives. Villains usually serve a similar role in a story--in a good story, they aren't just a plot device; villains challenge us to re-evaluate our assumptions, expectations, and sometimes our values.

...So, Garou does the same thing: he incites others to flip their perspective. But unlike Saitama, he’s deliberately more provocative and more deliberately irreverent. Saitama certainly can be this way, too, but with Saitama it's usually by accident--but then again, it's hard to tell with him. Despite being perceptive and canny, Saitama is often evasive about the things he knows—at the same time, he doesn’t hesitate to get on a soapbox when he feels like he needs to: Saitama wants to save people from themselves as much as he wants to save them from external threats.

…and because Saitama so often ends up in silly situations, it makes him approachable. As we saw with Reigen and Mob in the MP finale, sometimes we serve others best by showing up as our own divinely imperfect, authentically messy self—which Saitama does. Constantly. (And Garou too! I think the most charming thing about his character, when I first encountered him, was the way Garou laughs off various defeats with beautifully insouciant amusement, so delighted to be growing and learning--which is exactly what Saitama wants for himself, and by extension, the sort of person he might gravitate towards).

In the Before Times, when the MA Manga Finale was but a twinkle in the mangaka’s eye, I imagined Saitama and Garou meeting post (WC fight): Garou is working as a delivery guy (of course), and while on break, he hears somebody screaming inside the grocery store he had been stocking. Lo and behold, and it’s Saitama. Saitama is covered in highly corrosive monster goo, watching in horror as all of his coupons disintegrate—along with his clothing. (Spoiler alert: Saitama is not at all concerned with his clothing).

...understandably, the poor, terrified clerk doesn’t want to take Saitama’s money (which is rapidly eating away the counter) and Garou covers his tab. Garou mutters something like, "for obvious reasons, it pains me to see you like this." Saitama interprets this as longing / jealously and pats the kid on the back with an acid-covered hand, assuring Garou the he will also eventually save the world in his own way--maybe even as a hero. (Garou, meanwhile, is thinking "forget about saving the world... I don't wanna live on this planet anymore"). While maintaining full eye contact, Saitama swipes the entire take-a-penny-leave-a-penny jar and vanishes. It's not a meet cute or anything, it's just it's a weird little moment of catharsis and the beginning of their friendship. It is endgame Gearou, though.

When Genos shows up the next morning to pay Garou back, Garou jokingly asks for 150% interest which Genos pays without blinking. ("Sensei's credit rating leaves much to be desired.")

Anyway, I just feel like there are so many opportunities for Saitama to accidentally get Garou to open up about his feelings. I have a rough draft of the “Dr. Saitama” scene where Garou is pouting silently in several inches of mud, pointedly ignoring Saitama until Saitama comes back with that jar of weird-looking eggs in the upper left corner of the shack scene panel. “I didn’t know you could pickle eggs,” Saitama comments. “I thought you could only pickle pickles.”

At which point, Garou snaps, absolutely indignant that this two-bit asshat cannot grasp the concept of a cucumber. My sense is that Saitama did this on purpose--intentionally prodding Garou a bit, trying to help him express his very real, very painful emotions in a way that feels safer, less frightening. I literally never know what Saitama is doing in my fics though. Probably because Saitama doesn't reliably know that, either.

In the same way that Saitama riles Garou up just enough to make him learn something, Garou riles Saitama up just enough to make him emotional--for example, by discerning Saitama's inexplicable fear of elves and adjusting his Christmas decorations appropriately. It's another Gearou fic, but Saitama is--as I always imagine him--just there, living in the same house, being part of their chosen family. I headcanon that they are always arguing about this (“You said you missed having feelings!” “Not these ones!”). It’s just constant, low-level benign trolling in a way that accidentally makes them both into other people.

So, I don’t really have many romantic headcanons or scenarios with the two of them, although I have entertained the idea. And, admittedly, I do have that “BroTP and sometimes ot3” tag. I’ve kind of entertained the idea of some scenario where the three of them are in a polycule? But it has literally always come from a place I never expected, like I fall asleep after editing a Gearou story and then whatever scene I’m workshopping somehow seeps into my dreams… at which point, the characters nitpick everything I’ve got wrong, including the relationship. “They’re not dating. We are. Don’t you see it?” (Ummm… no I don’t? At least not in that particular instance. Because these are not sexy dreams, mind you, just Exceedingly Vanilla, G-Rated anxiety dreams.)

If I hypothetically wrote a romantic and/or NSFW SaiGarou fic, I imagine it might have something to do with the fact that pain is the only emotion Garou allows himself to feel… and Saitama has already seen him at his worst, and, at the same time, hasn’t been phased by it. So I can imagine a situation where Garou knows he has to revisit that part of himself in order to heal and overcome it—that feeling of being broken and vulnerable but also safe and free, and given that he’s probably a bit touch starved you can see how things might progress from there.

Anyway. If something like this shows up on ao3 a year from now, you will know that it definitely was not me.

So, wow, there’s my answer—something like 1.3k words later :-/ if you’re still here, thanks so much for coming to my Ted Talk. I actually did have a little bit of material prepared in hopes that someone would someday ask me a variation of this question, so I’m grateful to you. Of course he immediately goes into combat mode thinking that you two could be a threat for the citizens.

But it’s when you save him from that other monster you were fighting with that he’s completely startled.

“So not all monsters are driven by malice…interesting..”

He feels a connection between the two of you and can relate very much as you two have had similar experiences before with not fitting in to society due to not being full humans.

is VERY intrigued and interested by you therefore he decides to stick by your side to analyze your art and nature for research purposes. Those hangout’s eventually turn into dates.

He likes you both in your human and monster form and encourages you to like every part about yourself too.

Will support you 100% in wanting to lead a normal life and fit in with the humans. Even though his knowledge about what humans his age do is very limited as well he tries to teach you what he knows.

I’m telling y’all this guy DOES NOT CARE wether you’re human or not.

He saved you in your human form once (some monsters attacked you because they could tell from your smell that you were a monster as well) and thought you were so attractive from the get-go.

He did have his suspicions as he could sense a different kind of aura from you but did not question it.

A week into dating it was that you came clear to him about your “true form”, already expecting that he’d immediately break up with you.

“Oh really? Yeah that’s calm.”

Doesn’t feel betrayed or alarmed because he’s known you for long enough to tell that you were a good person, monster or not.

He does ask you random questions sometimes though

Thought of you as his rival/opponent for the longest time.

Whenever he’d see you around in your human form he could sense this aura coming from you assuming that you were a strong fighter when not knowing that you simply were a monster.

He’d bother you every time and ask you for a fight and every time you’d have to kindly decline saying that you had no idea how to fight.

“Don’t lie to me I can sense that you’re powerful. One fight won’t hurt ya cmon..”

Around the 6th time you came across him you decided to just come straight with the truth.

“So you’re telling me..you’re a monster..but ya dont fight?”

Is hella confused but just rolls with it. He decides to stick by your side just for the sake of it. And he couldn’t deny that you were absolutely gorgeous at that.

Would ask you out in the most blunt and straightforward way.

You’d both be talking about how it was so hard for you to find any love interests because most of the human guys would get scared if they were to find out you’re a monster

Which he would straight up answer with “why dont you date me then?”

Very overprotective boyfriend. He prefers you in your monster form actually and encourages you to just be yourself but the moment ANYONE dares to give you a wrong look he’ll beat them to a pulp
