Common Chaffinch Norfolk Woodlands..
flickr
Common Chaffinch Norfolk Woodlands.. by Adam Swaine Via Flickr: Male chaffinches are colourful birds with an orange-pink breast and cheeks, grey-blue cap and orange-brown back. Females are much duller brown with hints of green and yellow. The Chaffinch is one of the most widespread and common birds in Britain and Ireland. Its patterned feathers help it blend in when feeding on the ground, so it's easiest to see when it flies, as a flash of white on the wings and white outer tail feathers is revealed. It's shy when it comes to bird feeders, preferring to hop about under the bird table or under the hedge. You'll usually hear Chaffinches before you see them, thanks to their loud song and range of calls

Eurasian wren moodboard!
Here in the UK, we only have one species of wren: the Eurasian wren. As we simply refer to it as the wren, this may cause others living in the New World (the Americas) to be a bit confused at what we are talking about (as there is more than one species of wren in the New World).
I actually own the plush on the top right corner, as even though I like all wren species (Troglodytidae), Eurasian wrens are my favorite species of wren. They are so tiny, yet they can sing so loudly - when I first heard it, I didn't believe that it was this tiny bird that made all that noise!
If I have to say which New World wren is my favorite, though, it has to be the Carolina wren. I love how their songs make them sound like they're saying "tea-kettle" all the time. (Fun fact, I also own a T-shirt with a Carolina wren on it!)

Northern Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis)
During winter, the Northern Cardinal will fluff up their down feathers in order to retain heat next to their body. Their legs lack these feathers and are susceptible to heat loss. The female does most of the nest building, crushing twigs with her beak and then bending them into a cup shape.

GREAT SPOTTED WOODPECKER London
flickr
GREAT SPOTTED WOODPECKER London by Adam Swaine Via Flickr: The great spotted woodpecker is a striking black-and-white bird with a very distinctive bouncing flight. Adults have a deep red patch under the tail and males have a very clear sugar-lump-sized red patch on the back of the neck. It spends most of its time clinging to tree trunks and branches..Well a nice surprise as i walked back and could see 2 large birds in the distance and got treat the light was not that good so only got a few shots..they were in a small tree so was easy to spot them..
