confession time, the s1 e!gem that is always brainrotting is pretty different from canon s1 e!gem (from what i can remember) so i'm going to talk about my pantheon au version of gem
i like to think gem would say, "it's free to be a hater" after sausage or fwhip does some stupid shit. on a more serious note, i feel there has to be some genuine resentment towards them two for dragging her into their bs, even if it's not a lot it is there. gem killing sausage in that one important lore bit was so cathartic to her
gem really admires katherine mainly because of how non involved she is with everything. she always feels the need to help everyone (see my gem character analysis post), and the fact that katherine just steps back is enviable to her
in my head, gem also uses a lot more fire magic than she does in the series; this contracts nicely with katherine's nature magic. gandalf, her cat, will decide if they like a person or not, and that will be gem's first impression of a person. it's quite hard to break from it too
now i'm going to dip in to some hc s8 territory, but it will come back to esmp s1. at the start of the series, gem has no clue she is bi and false is actually her gay awakening. gem looks up to her a lot, and she watches her run away and leave her friends behind. this leads to her reaction during the rapture (season ending), where she only takes fwhip because he directly asked, instead of helping out everybody. like come on, they both fly away on their base defining organic
fwhip and gem were royalty, but because gender roles, their parents were forcing gem to be king (trans roseblings tust), gem felt like her only option was to run away. when she finds out about the crown made by fwhip, she is a little uncomfortable with the concept but doesn't say anything. though when others try to convince her she should get it gem is beyond pissed
before she ran away, pearl showed her all about rifts (it has something to do with amethyst shards, but that's a whole different post) and offers to take her to hermitcraft, which she refuses. until she wants to run away and then goes to the place she wants to set up her village and then goes to another world while everyone is searching for her
gem's relationship with shrub is very unique because she so wants to just yell at them for bringing xornoth to the overworld and then spreading it across her place. on the other hand, she sees herself in them as someone who also ran away from home. but then that gets ruined when she is infected with xornoth via shrub
when she still lived with her family, pearl and sausage lived in neighboring empires, and they all grew up together. gem and sausage dated a bit when they were really young, so they are exs on technicality. most of her romantic feelings have gone away, but whenever sausage firts with her, a crush appears for a day and then goes away. she hates this more than anything else. then they grow up, and gem realizes she likes women and then realize she likes pearl specifically. and then pearl and sausage get together (actually qpr, but gem doesn't know that), and she swears off of romance
and the connection to the void and the end and all that stuff is a pretty important part of this au but ehhhh y'know

From the outline document of Maker’s Marks, the au where Celebrimbor swears an Oath and gets sent back to fulfill it. Unfortunately, I’m unlikely to write more of this any time soon…but I do open the scene-sprinkled outline sometimes and gently, wistfully pet it.
Faramir had expected there to be singing, in the casting of a great Elvish spell. Instead, Celebrimbor just took a steady stance facing east and threw off his grey cloak, and with it, some much greater shield - and suddenly, he shone, not just in his eyes but in his hair, in his very skin. Faramir had thought he knew great power before - his father was mighty in spirit and will; and he had glimpsed a deep well in Mithrandir once, when the wizard let him; and once, he’d been caught in a riptide in Dol Amroth, and nearly drowned.
This was most comparable to the riptide. Except surely Celebrimbor was a forest fire, rather than anything of water. It was suddenly extremely easy to believe that this was an elf who had known the time before sun and moon.

Faramir, experiencing his first fuck-you–tier Calaquendi: what the fuck what the fuck
“Hey, Annatar!” the shining legend shouted in a dialect of Quenya so ancient that Faramir had only ever seen it written, with a tone like [“You’re on the wrong side of the river” (The Mummy)]. “I’ll show you Fëanorian pride.”
He dropped gracefully to his knees and slammed his hands down on the metal strip - and the starlight blazed out from his hands and streaked down the line in both directions, and in every direction from each intersection until only a second later, the whole pattern was blazing like a constellation fallen to earth.
The Nazgul screamed as one, and streaked toward them through the dusky sky.
Celebrimbor collapsed like a dead man.
There was a sudden blaze of light from the distant fortifications, followed an instant later by the most bone-chilling screech yet. But the monstrous wraiths were far away again, so it only took Pippin a moment to rally his spirit and squint at the light, which showed no sign of diminishing. It wasn’t really bright, he thought, but compared to the darkness it was almost blinding.
“Is that the shape of a star, do you think?” he asked Beregrond.

Modern Gimli Au (ft legolas)
he lives in an apartment with Legolas (oh my god they were roommates) and evey now and then Thranduil comes over to criticize their lifestyle and drink all their wine
Gimli and Aragorn often go riding around town on Aragorns motorcyle (because i feel like he would have one)
He works as an employee at Home Depot. i really just wanted to see him working at someplace other than a cafe or coffee shop. Gimlis main goal is to upgrade to an IKEA employee.
he probably gets fired though because he swears too damn much.
like im not kidding he could be watching a literal disney cartoon with Legolas and hed still be flipping off the characters and bellowing things like "FUCK YOU, SCAR" "HAKUNA MATATA MY ASS" and "WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN, 'SIMBA' YOU CLOUD ASS SONUFA BITCH"

-In a modern day setting, I think Fili and Kili would own a busy pub somewhere in a side street. Ironically enough, I believe Raewyn would become either a history or geography teacher. At night, she’ll help in the pub, serving guests or helping in a band performing that night. Because, obviously, she’d take music lessons (see earlier headcanons)
-Due to the vacations of the school, she travels a lot with Kili, visiting big cities in Europe and distant villages in Asia. Her students love to hear tales about the people there, and she loves telling them.
-Kili helps Raewyn prepare lessons for students. He actually has some really good ideas in there and Raewyn loves to tell him how the class responded to ‘his’ teaching.
-Even though the pub is located in the centre of the city, Raewyn and Kili would live in a house surrounded by forests. Those tiny roads leading through woods, sometimes extending towards two or three houses? That’s where they’d likely live. Raewyn loves to spend her nights walking the forest. Kili is just glad to be there.
-The garden offers enough room for Farris, because - naturally - she’d still be there. Knowing Kili, she’d probably be accompanied by three dogs, likely named after characters from famous films, like Gizmo, Luke, and Marty McFly.
-Raewyn would get a cat just to spite Kili’s dogs. They’d get a decent name - likely after someone from ancient history. She’d go with names from gods, like Bastet or Artemis. Because Kili insisted on big dogs, she got a Norwegian Forest cat.
-The cat loves Kili more than Raewyn. Kili hates the cat.
-Likewise, Marty McFly loves Raewyn. He doesn’t like Kili because Kili doesn’t let him swim in lakes.
-Speaking about ‘children’. Raewyn and Kili would adopt two kids rescued from war zones, left without family. Raewyn used to want biological children, but her mother never lived long enough to hold her youngest daughter, and ever since, she’s been terrified of the idea of getting pregnant.
-Thorin and Bilbo are the godparents - naturally.
-Surprisingly, Raewyn is the chill parent. Kili does his absolute best to not teach the kids any swear words or let them watch anything under the age guide on films and series. The oldest said their first swear word just three weeks in Raewyn and Kili’s care. Fili was the culprit. To this day, Kili still believes it was Raewyn. She thinks so too.
-Bilbo often visits the dogs when Raewyn helps Kili in the pub at night. They’re twice as heavy as he is, but they love him. Bilbo used to be scared of them.
-Don’t worry, Raewyn gets therapy sessions.
-Kili is a swiftie. He pulled Raewyn into the fandom. Her favourite album is folklore. Kili is a 1989 stan. Raewyn’s favourite artist would probably be a classic rock band like Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath.
-On the topic of modern media; the two love to watch horror films late at night. Raewyn is the psychopath who can go to bed after the credits roll. Kili needs to watch at least one episode of a comedy show before he can even walk up the stairs.
-Kili loves science fiction most, preferably Star Wars or Back to the Future. Raewyn has a secret love for terrible comedies like the Monty Python works. Horror and fantasy are their middle ground.
-Their home is littered with books. They have a bookcase. But there are books everywhere. At least three in the bathroom. Kili is a binge reader. He finishes series within a week. Raewyn reads twenty books at the same time. None of them place the books back in the bookcase. Bilbo does when he looks after the dogs.
-Gandalf has a spare key to their house. He never enters unannounced (surprisingly), but does enter their garden to entertain the dogs. When Raewyn invites him in, he claims to hate the dogs. He doesn’t. He even has a favourite. But don’t tell Marty McFly and Gizmo.
-The dogs aren’t forced to be outside. They just never want to go inside. Raewyn and Kili have to carry them in at night for their own safety. Luke, the St. Bernard, has to sleep in bed with them every night. So does the cat. Luke is the only dog she accepts. Raewyn and Kili often wake up on the floor.
-Once a week, Raewyn and Kili have a ‘duty-free’ night. They’ll go to a little shed in the forest Raewyn bought while someone takes care of the children and the dogs (the cat takes care of themself). They usually fall asleep there, but every so often they play boardgames or spend the night chatting away under the stars.
-Kili packs Raewyn’s lunch every morning. He leaves little notes in her lunchbox. There is not a day he has forgotten to do so.
-Raewyn and Kili wear matching ugly Christmas sweaters around the holidays.

And let's be real, Inoshi would be so approving of Sam. Loyal, honest, stalwart and steady in the face of darkness, shockingly mentally stable despite like, everything? Plus, he'd be so supportive and such a good influence on Shisui. What's a therapist dad not to love about him? Good job, Shisui, finally making some good decisions lol. Not that Shisui actually, y'know, remembers his peusdo-dad, but I'm sure that somewhere buried deep in the back of his mind he'd know he's making someone proud
Excuse me I need to sit down and write an AU of The Red Istari where Shisui shows up hunting the Uruk-hai and yoinks Sam and Frodo into the boat to run, swearing to protect them as the fellowship splinters (and ofc grieving but still faithful to gandalf's memory, the hobbits see "nice wizard" and go ahhh okay) and therefore you have shisui grimly leading them to the 'Shadow Mountain' with Frodo having an existential crisis in a battle of faith against the evil ring, and a connected crisis with the creature gollum stalking them, whilst Sam is stuck in the strangest genre mix of tragic adventure and romantic holiday "there was only two forks and Sam won't share with Frodo so guess he's sharing supplies with the gorgeous nice wizard" and this is both very BAMF, very bittersweet, and very inappropriately amusing

Sorry for making two pjo aus but they're different I swear. In fact, this one doesn't even use the Greek pantheon.
That's right, empires smp!
Step brothers Scott and Xornoth, sons of Aeor and Exor, who swore never to have demigod children ever again like the big three. Sure the half bloods that come from those two almost always hate eachother and will try and kill eachother, but Scott and Xornoth are different! ... right?
Jimmy and Lizzie! Full siblings of the ancient ocean god! Not the new one though... the new ocean god doesn't like them and the old one has kind of been forgotten and dies recently... so yikes for those two.
Pix, son of the god of lightning and prophesies! He's the half blood who's been at camp the longest, taking the place of Chiron, and is essentially the whole camp's councilor.
After that it gets a little... strange. The rest of the pantheon are not humanoid, rather they're just other things that are widely worshipped. So instead of being children of, the half bloods of the rest of the pantheon rather accidentally physically manifest people into existence.
We have Gem, manifestation of the magic in dragons. She appeared in the Crystal Cliffs, where these dragons are worshipped and taken care of, but they dropped her off at camp as the place wasn't really suitable for a child.
Then Fwhip, who was formed out of a corrupted Redstone rock. The Grimmlands, full of dangerous mechanisms and even more corrupted rocks, sent Fwhip to camp as well.
Sausage was actually intentionally summoned in a blood circle, but they weren't TRYING to summon a baby, rather a powerful demon from Exor. So they dropped the baby off at camp, not sure what to do with it.
Shrub is the manifestation of the Wolf Spirit, and she was actually about to be raised normally until she saw wolves outside her window. She promptly followed them to the Wolf Spirit and was then raised by them. She was dropped off at camp at fourteen years old, finally old enough to leave the pack.
Katherine was straight up born like a cabbage patch kid, a physical manifestation of the Overgrown, a plain of sacred flowers. The flowers carried her over to camp, and she can still talk to them.
Joel was actually a statue brought to life. The sculptor didn't really know what to do, so they took him to camp and left him there.
Joey was ritually summoned like Sausage but... on accident. He manifested in the middle of four temples,one for each element. Once again,not knowing what to do theydropped the kid off at camp, but plan to return when he's old enough to see how he's important to the temples.
Pearl? She's mortal, but she died. She got brought back, heightened strength and a new tie to the farm she lived on. She, along with Pix, Carlos, and Gandalf are the founders of camp which remains on Pearl's farm. Instead of hiding it like in pjo, they discretely advertise it, in case someone needs to put a kid in the camp's care.

Hi, my name's Poppy and I write (or try to write) fanfiction! As a full-time student, I don't really have a lot of free time on my hands, so my writing schedule is kind of sporadic, but I really enjoy what I do :)
Here's a couple fun facts:
I'm British (so expect slang and a lot of swearing in my more mature fics)

I play the guitar
I'm an amateur boxer and qualified SCUBA diver!

THE BLIND JUSTICE SERIES
This is an MCUxDC cross-over AU where I try to rewrite (basically) the entire marvel cinematic universe, combining it with characters from DC comics too! Because I love superheroes, and I need some of my favourite characters to meet (and shag) more than I need water (reminder to stay hydrated, folks!).

NYMMRIL THE GOLD
This is my on-going Lord of the Rings fic! It follows Beorn's ward and fellow skin-changer, Nymmril: a young and jovial man who takes the form of a great lion! It's a Legolas x oc fic, with a dash of Fili x oc sprinkled in the first act. It's a mix of the Jackson films (extended editions ofc) and Tolkein's original works, for the fun and the lore!
I'm currently about half way through Act 1, which begins during The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and follows all the way through to the end of the book. But as a whole, the fic will follow Nymmril's journey through the Fellowship of the Ring and beyond, all the way to Return of the King.
Nymmril, a young skin-changer from the far deserts, has been under the care of his Keeper Beorn for centuries. With the dragon present, it was deemed too dangerous for him to leave. But what happens when Gandalf and his company of mischievous dwarrow stumble into the Carrock asking for help?
Only one thing is for certain: A lion's loyalty is a powerful weapon.

We have all these fix-it fic/everyone lives au’s for the Hobbit, but not one of them mentions Gandalf going up to Thorin after the Battle. Not one of them mentions Gandalf saying he found Thrain. Not one of them mentions the grief Thorin feels once he learns his father is truly dead. Not one of them mentions how Thorin would break down and cry when Gandalf says Thrain’s last words were “Tell my son I love him”.
If no one else is gonna write this, I will.

Hey! I was thinking about Narewen/Bain (I think that was a what you said in your tags). Could you expand? I’m curious
Oh Yeah no problem! So the idea just came out of the other idea where the Arkenstone really is a Silmaril (like it ought to be come on Prof.)
So Narewen's timeline there would have been:
Stuck in stone form for however long magical plate tectonics took to move her from that fiery chasm to where the dwarves of Erebor discovered the Arkenstone
Feeling that she's finally around friendly folk she would have woken up, much to the amazement of the dwarves,( who probably take her as some sort of blessing from Mahal. I mean with the circumstances I would)
She's raised amoung them for a while, learning smithing and craft until
Smaug comes
At which point she definitly goes back into jewel form and stays that way until Bilbo Baggins takes her out to trade for peace, resulting in a very confused Hobbit, an extremely concerned Thranduil (because he's heard about what happens when Silmarils are up for grabs) and a Gandalf with a very important report to make to the Valar
Meanwhile all Bard sees is a frightened/angry young girl around his sons age, and so he probably introduced them while she was staying in the elven camp so she wouldn t be so lonely/worried
She probably does go back to stay with the dwarves after to help them rebuild, but keeps in touch with Bain and Bard and it just blossoms naturally from there
(It really wasn't much of a concrete idea, except that Bard's kids was were some of the only stuff I'd really liked in the last two Hobbit movies, and since Narewen's sort of in a Snow White situation Bain was the nearest prince in proximity and age, and I thought they'd be cute together 😅)

I can’t get Rouvan’s cover of ‘This Ain’t a Scene’ out of my head and it inspired this idea.
Bilbo (M or F) is a singer at a club (probably Gandalf’s club. They sing to entertain and make money, yes, but they also sing for something else; revenge.
For as long as anyone can remember there have been two rival forces, The Mob run by Smaug and the Durin Gang. While The Mob is clearly worse, both sides have done quite a bit of damage to the community they claim their protecting. And in the middle are the hobbits who want no part of this quarrel. Unfortunately, they are too often caught in the crossfire. Many injuries and casualties can be attributed to the petty squabble. Among those casualties are Bilbo’s parents.
Now they seek to destroy those responsible for all the pain and suffering done to them and those they love. They plan to systematically take down Smaug’s empire and then deal with the Durin Gang.
