Do you know how to enable/convert EP12 photo booth poses to "take selfie" interaction?
Hi there!
So I can't give you details as I haven't attempted to do this.
Also not sure this would make a lot of sense since selfie poses are made specifically as such (with the arm stretched out holding the phone to take a selfie).
And there's no "switch" or "enabling". The basic procedure to do sth like this and the way I would go about it, would be as follows (I assume you have S4S and Blender):
Looking up the asm file (animation state machine) for each interaction type (photobooth interaction and selfie interaction) to identify the file names of the relevant poses (for example via the S4S Game File Cruiser). You can also look up EA poses/animations by keywords via the "Animation -> Clip pack" menu. But the asm file is the more reliable way to do it.
When you have identified the file names from the photobooth, export the ones you want to use to Blender (also via the "Animation -> Clip pack" menu).
Via "Animation -> Override" menu look up the selfie pose file you want to override and import the exported blend file with the photobooth pose to it. Do that for each pose you want to override.
You might also need to adjust the pose in Blender before importing it, depending on the set-up. For example, I noticed, that for paired poses, the position of the sims in Blender seems to be different/rotated.
So you would have to figure out additional details to make it work, probably.
If you need further help, you can hop in here - but as said, I can only give advice regarding how I would approach sth like this.
Here's a screenhot from the Game File Cruiser in case it helps:

Making the piece of the domestic room
At the start I was struggling with perspective and not getting things quite right. I then had the idea to create the layout of the room in one of my games “The Sims 4”, which allows you to build a house from scratch.

I used this to guide me and from there I outlined the room and made changes as I went, such as the shape of the tv which being curved is more modern looking, changed the circle devices into 360 treadmills, and added the hexagon wall.

I also took a picture of my own chair at a similar angle so to change the design of the chair, and used the 360 view on a online shop of a sofa that looks more comfy, and used that as reference. Finally I added shelves that I planned on adding collectibles to, as we both collect a few things.

For poses I wanted something that did not have too much action but also look like it could be in the middle of a fight, so I used an app called MagicPoser that has virtual models with movable joints to make the poses. I looked at a few fighting pose reference sheets for inspiration. I also used a bit of their default poses they have and changed them as appropriate.

I then took a screenshot of both and used lines to guide me when I was drawing the body, and tried to make the body look more like my body type. Then I started to add clothing and accessories to it, and tried to keep the suit simple, similar to what you already see nowadays for VR but less clunky.
It felt too plain however, so I thought to add attachment pieces that would be the movement trackers, and knew that when colouring it would allow a great opportunity to add an extra source of light and draw attention to the technology. I made the colour scheme different for each of us as by then I imagine there are more personalisation options for the equipment.

Tutorial: Camera Position Hotkeys in TAB Mode
Does this sound familiar? You want to take several screenshots from the exact same angle be it for a story, a lookbook, or a CC preview. You tab into free camera mode, take your screenshot, tab out, change poses, tab into free camera mode, and struggle to remember/find the exact camera angle again. Lather, rinse, rage-quit repeat. I did struggle with that. I looked and asked around for a solution, even if it was yet another mod that did what EA failed to do. One day someone dropped a hint, there was a way to set the camera postion, but they didn’t tell how. I used all my google-fu skills and finally found out how to do it. It’s a lifesaver. A fair warning: If you’re anything like me, you’ll use it whenever you take screenhots from now on, just because you can.
Here’s how you can take a picture series like this.
Or this.
1. How to set hotkeys
Press TAB to switch into free camera mode.
Set-up your shot. If you’re happy with it,...
Press CTRL+ 5-8 (top row, not numpad) to save the camera angle.
You can save 4 different camera positions. They’ll be assigned to that hotkey until you overwrite them. Although key 4 is said to be usable as camera hotkey, too it doesn’t work for me.
2. How to use the hotkeys
Press TAB to switch back into free camera mode.
Press key 5-8 and the camera will move back to the saved position. Voila!
Tip: As long as you’re in game mode zoom out as far as you can before re-entering TAB mode. This way all faded-out objects will be visible in TAB mode again. Hit TAB, then your hotkey and enjoy a little tracking shot.
Have fun taking your screenshots! Maybe @thefoxburyinstitute finds this worth sharing? I have a feeling this feature is so unknown, it’s almost like an easter egg. It took me almost three years until I found out.
