thinking about the time galen was having an argument about the existence of a bone in an elephant's heart with a rival and in order to win he demanded that someone go fetch the heart from an elephant that was being cooked up in the emperor's kitchen (???) and bring him the bone from it and he was so proud about winning that he kept it to show off to other people

Okay, this took much longer than I anticipated, but this just ended up pulling out all my love. For those of you have been around awhile, you might recognize my first three OC's. It's been far too long since I've worked with them and they are very close to my heart. Gein, the giant is now named Galen (finally moving on to something more fitting than little 12 year old me could come up with 16 years ago). Lily and Tom are on his shoulder there, and if you want to read a little snippet of the interaction happening here, you can read under the cut!

I recommend zooming in to explore all the loving details!

Galen casts a sidelong glance, trying to catch a glimpse of the two tiny young ones perching on his shoulder. This is the calmest they've been since the since the shock of their arrival sent the world into turbulence. The tension had finally eased for a moment, which the giant himself settles into with a sigh and a smile.

Without turning his head, Galen can only see their feet, clad in new doll's shoes, but he refuses to disturb the peace for a better look. Hearing them is enough. Lily is expounding upon her vision of the stars above, explaining how she can see the night sky in such incredible detail as Galen has never heard.

Young Tom only adds slightly confused affirmative grunts from time to time, which stirs a chuckle in Galen's throat. At least he isn't the only one misunderstanding Lily's academic poetry about spinning nebulae and new stars. Regardless, hearing the fragile little one speaking with confidence warms his heart.

He knew taking them to Lonny for new clothing was a gamble. Galen felt their fear in his own throat and nearly couldn't watch them tremble in the flamboyant tailor's hands as he darted about taking measurements. In spite of that, fresh clothing seems to make them feel new again, just as he hoped it would.

"Now, sounds like ye know more about the stars than I ever learnt," Galen interjects softly. "Sorry I can't add much on that front, but I can show ye our constellations, and tell a few stories if ye like."

If Crusade ever took off, Galen x Gideon would be a massive ship.

These lot have tension every second they share a screen.

And of course the whole “I got banned from my family of technomages because I was hanging out with you too much and now you’re the person I rely on” (two things Galen has literally said).

I see a train of hurt/comfort and all i got to say is--

MC is a guard right, and that means they're probably getting hurt all the time and used to bandaging themselves up (after all, sometimes you don't have the time to wait).

But.. that doesn't nessacarily mean they're good at it. And since I'm a med student, i can confirm it is easy af for an improper stitch to break or come undone and if the person moves too much.

So hEAR ME OUT RIGHT

MC coming back after dealing with some particularily pesky bad guys (tm), having poorly bandaged themselves up but thinking ahhhh its finnnee

MC feeling a bit tired, but meeting with the RO's (after they caught feelings, but maybe before the relationship stage?)

The RO's engage in conversation when MC's shirt starts to go red

THE RO'S PANICK WHEN MC PASSES OUT

V - WHAT KIND OF IDIOT. WHAT KIND OF FUCKING IDIOT. WHY DIDN'T THEY SAY ANYTHING. wants to shake mc by the shoulders and scream at them but what ends up happening is V handling them with a featherlight gentleness as they patch them back up!
