Solomon Muto deserves respect.

I don't care that he lost to Kaiba, he is an old man and Kaiba put him through holograms that he could have never expected. Kaiba is lucky Mr.Muto didn't have a heart attack, if he did then Yugi could sue due to Kaiba not providing regulations and explaining what will happen before the duel. Plus, it's Kaiba. He was undefeated before Yugi came along and beat his ass.

The sorcerer subclasses changed the most as I was developing this project and I finally settled on Curse of Dragon as the first one for a few reasons. The majority of my first picks were vanillas and iconic main character cards, additionally there is already basically a cursed dragon subclass in d&d 5e.

Looking at the Curse of Dragon line of cards there are a few effects in common and also the special feature of extraordinarily long and unusual names. Features here include controlling land and poison damage for the green dragon connection, while curse of dragon is canonically yellow in most media it does have a green tinge in most versions and as all of the other chromatic dragon colours were taken this subclass got poison, I think it works perfectly and am happier with this than most other forced coincidences.

Tribe: The Kindred

Biography: Born with the name Gaia of Langston, the twin-lance wielding knight started life as a sandal-bearer for a feudal lord near Brookstone Valley. The land was often ravaged by agents of the Five-Headed Dragon, including a wicked knight by the name of Dragoness.

When Gaia was about 18 years old, he found Dragoness torturing a purple horse, presuming it was magic due to its unusual pelt coloration. Picking up the nearest weapons he could find, Gaia impaled the wicked knight and rescued the horse in the process.

Thankful for its rescue, the horse became Gaia's steed, and they went on various adventures protecting others from the ravages of enemy Fiends, Dragons and Zombies. During one of his expeditions, he ended up meeting the Celtic Guardian and Dark Magician. Impressed with his strength and speed, the two brothers in arms invited Gaia to be one of their Arcane Knights.

He agreed after hearing of the King of Yamimakai's defeat at the hands of the Dark Magician and Blue-Eyes White Dragon. Now an honored member of Dark Magician's inner-circle, he's usually seen on the front lines, running down his foes and either impaling or flipping them over with his mighty lances.

I finished Noah's Arc

My descent into villainy begins.

I have no clue what any new characters sound like in the sub, so this 4kids performance only.

Noah: round of applause he sounds fantastic.

Gozuburo: he needs to sound more like he smokes

The Deep Sea Warrior guy: I forgot what he sounded like

Crump: he sounds weird

Johnson: Why is his voice so deep? Why is it so deep? He sounds like a big scary monster.

The robot: I wasn't paying attention to him

Lector: nice. I like his voice.

Dark Magician Girl: it's really annoying for some reason.

Flame Swordsman: hot voice

Serenity's deck master: I don't like it.

Characters:

Yugi: that sure is Yugi. He gets more screentime than usual and that's a nice change. I love his interactions with Téa after her duel, he's so sweet it makes my dumb shipper brain go crazy.

Yami: he sure does duel. He insults Noah a few times, and is mean to Kuriboh in his first duel.

Téa: QUEEN. If Kaiba didn't exist this would have been her season.

Joey: That sure is Joey. It killed me every time he thought of Mai. Bro wants her back so badly.

Tristan: he was robbed. He deserved to duel again.

Duke: this man is so fucking rude like what the hell? I love him tho he's funny and silly.

Serenity: this poor girl blames herself so much. It was not her fault that Tristan died. It was 100% Duke's.

Seto Kaiba: why is he like this? He's so cool.

Mokuba: precious baby wanted to forgive Noah so badly. He said they were family. He said Kaibacorp would help build him a robot body and they could be twins. I'm crying.

Noah: Why was his backstory handled better than the Ishtar's? Why? This is a filler character and I felt worse for him than Marik. Maybe it's because he's a better duelist idk.

The big five: they exist

Gozuburo: his love for Noah was so conditional, I hate this man. I'm glad he's dead.

Important note

Deck Masters are a thing. I like the idea of them.

Duels

Duel 1 - Yugi vs Gansly

Yugi chooses Kuriboh as his deck master and is upset about it because it was an accident.

Gansly is his own deck master.

Most of the duel is Gansly explaining the rules to Yugi and using cards that either don't exist, or are really bad.

Yuugi wins using Kuriboh, Rainbow Bridge, and Gaia the Fierce Knight to attack Gansly directly.

Duel 2 - Téa vs Crump

There was so much Téa fan service in this duel and before this and after this duel. It would have been distracting if this duel wasn't hype.

Téa picks Dark Magician Girl as her deck master, and Crump uses himself/Nightmare Penguin as a deck master.

Crump uses Penguin cards and cards like Cold Wave (Rest in Peace King) to gradually turn Téa into an ice sculpture.

Téa uses cards like Maha Vailo, some equip spells, and Mirror force to help herself, but due to still being a beginner mirror force gets destroyed.

Téa is getting guidance from Dark Magician Girl on how to duel, and ends up using Sage's Stone to special summon Dark Magician.

Téa wins the duel.

Also, Crump wanted to build a penguin themed amusement park, but that's not important.

Duel 3 - Joey vs Johnson

Joey stumbled into a court room after thinking he found his way back to the blimp. He was tricked by Johnson who was pretending to be Mai.

Joey's deck master is Flame Swordsman and Johnson's is Judge Man.

During this duel, Joey is using his deck master's special ability to raise his monsters attack points, but then they all get destroyed.

Now Joey is putting his faith in his gambling cards, but Johnson is cheating and making it so Joey can't use them

Noah catches this and calls out Johnson, but Joey says it's fine as long as he doesn't cheat anymore.

Joey ends up winning.

Duel 4 - Tristan, Duke, and Serenity vs Nezbit

I wasn't paying attention to this duel until Tristan died.

I still wasn't paying attention after he died.

Duke and Serenity win, but Nezbit got to take control of Tristan's body and now Tristan is Robot Monkey Tristan.

Duel 5: Kaiba vs Lector

This duel was too short.

Lector's deck master is Jinzo and Kaiba's is Lord of D.

During this duel, Lector is using cards like Jinzo and Imperial Order to make sure Kaiba can't use spells or traps. He also uses Injection Fairy Lily. I miss her. I miss my Lily.

Kaiba catches on to Lector's plan and makes him lose too many life points to keep Lily and Imperial Order on the field, then he summons Blue Eyes White Dragon and destroys a Satellite. I'm pretty sure 4kids censored this scene, because there was a weird jump cut from Blue Eyes attacking, to the debris falling.

Duel 6 - Joey and Yugi vs The Big Five

The big five are using Tristan's body to duel, and they're doing alright with early Umi Control. Then Johnson ruins it.

Yugi and Joey fuse their deck masters The Big Five fuse their deck masters.

Uhhhhhh

Yugi and Joey win and we never see the Big Five again.

Important stuff that happened

Mokuba got kidnapped and brainwashed.

Kaiba and the gang found out that Noah was Kaiba's step brother.

Noah is being really creepy to Mokuba.

Duel 7 - Yugi and Kaiba vs Noah

This duel is so long

Kaiba is really trying his best and is kind of winning, but Noah is reciting the Bible and using Mokuba as a shield so Kaiba loses because he is a hardcore reddit atheist and loves Mokuba.

Yugi calls Noah a hypocrite and combines his and Kaiba's deck.

Kaiba and Mokuba are turned to stone at this point.

Yuugi keeps talking shit and then Duke gets turned to stone. Nothing of value was lost.

Noah has to activate his deck master's second ability because Yugi destroyed the first one, and now Yugi has to fave Shinatu or whatever his name was.

Noah keeps raising his life points and he's using Spirit Monsters

My honest reaction to spirit monsters.

At least we saw Yatagurasu.

Noah is turning Yugi's friends to stone every turn, but Téa gets to stay alive for one more turn because she's just cool like that.

Yami summons all three Dark Magicians that he has ,but Noah destroyed all of them.

Then Yami summons Blue eyes and wipes out Noah's life points.

Yugi won and Kaiba wasn't happy that Yugi used his deck.

Duel 8 - Kaiba vs Gozuburo

This duel was also too short.

Gozuburo has Exodia and it gave Kaiba PTSD.

Kaiba has to send all 5 pieces of Exodia to the graveyard so that Gozuburo can summon Exodia Necros.

Necros is invincible and Kaiba's all like "You still take damage dumbass"

Gozuburo raises the attack of Necros, and Kaiba banishes (or puts them back in the deck I forgot) the Exodia pieces that were in the graveyard.

Kaiba wins and Gozuburo tries to take over his body anyway, but Yugi saves him.

Important stuff that happened

The squad was looking for an exit with Noah

Noah was told he was disappoinment so many times.

Mokuba accepted Noah as part of his family

Noah went to the real world to help the gang get their bodies back.

The island is about to explode.

Téa, Tristan and Serenity get their bodies back first

Then Duke and Joey

Then the rest of them.

Noah traps Gozuburo in Cyber space.

The island exploded

Yugi’s Pokemon Team

So there was a topic of Ash vs Yugi on twitter

And basically it just devolved into if they're playing each other competitive Yugi would win but Ash would win if they physically had to fight

Some also said Ash would win Pokemon and Yugi would win Yugioh/Duel monsters not just for obvious reasons but because Ash is more adaptive and Yugi is more of a planner

It made me think what would Yugi’s Pokemon team be?

As the idea is that Yugi would use some competitive Pokemon and that's why he would win as he would be less restricted in Pokemon and such similar to the actual competitive Pokemon play where they use legendaries, mythical, etc as if it's normal which isn't in the anime

But also Yugi’s deck had a theme (not an archetype) of mostly medieval with magic, knights, and dragons and there are pokemon that can meet that theme even if they aren't the most competitive Pokemon

So this was my attempt at a Yugi team

Meowscarada is literally a dark magician lol and makes sense for a starter,

Braixen would have been the starter before gen 9 as it has the “magic rod” and everything but now it can fit the Dark Magician Girl spot (could be Delphox but thought Braixen for the apprentice aspect more since it's a middle stage)

Aegislash is for all the knight cards Yugi has from Celtic Guardian, Black Luster Soldier, Buster Blader, etc

Escavalier, after the dark magician, it seems Gaia the fierce knight is the most consistent of his stronger cards, as cards like summoned skull didn’t appear often and others aren’t as unique or strong, Gaia and Escavalier use the same weapon

Venonat, Venonat is the closest thing to Kuriboh and Kuriboh is such a big part of Yugi had to include

Rayquaza is the obvious pick for Slifer the Sky Dragon the Egyptian God that was the boss monster for them

So that's the team

Pretty strong, the starters are starters so they have good strength, Aegislash is versatile Escavalier is can be really strong, with Rayquaza as one of the most powerful Pokemon ever, Venonat is the weak point here but could be the equivalent to Ash’s Pikachu if we're concerned about stats

Could this team beat Ash’s?

Depends how strong they make the Rayquaza

As everyone else is possible with his starters, aces, Pokemon like Sirfetch’d are no joke, etc

So could be an even battle until Rayquaza comes then it comes down to is this a Pokemon that if he has Charizard, Greninja, Pikachu etc available can they do a legendary slaying performance or will it be like a Tobias Darkrai or a legendary raid battle where he stands no chance?

I made additional team's for if Yugi and Atem are separated for this

Atem

Kept Meowscarada and Aegislash as in the Yugi vs Atem battle Atem had more of the magician and Knight cards

Atem had the Egyptian gods so he keeps Rayquaza for Slifer

Alakazam just represents more of his magician cards

Druddigon is the most similar to some of his dragons like Timaeus

And Kingambit represent more knight cards maybe specifically the Kings Knight, Queens Knight, Jacks Knight cards

Yugi

Atem had the dark magician girl in their duel but this magician can represent more of the fruit magicians he used in DSOD

Magnezone for his Magnet warriors, they had a crucial part against Atem in their duel and are another staple for their joint deck

Golurk for his Fortress cards like Stronghold, Metamorphortress as he used that combination in nearly all his duels

Klinklang for the gadget cards like red gadget, gold gadget

Gardevoir and Gallade for his Silent Magician and Silent Swordsman they are his equivalent to Atem’s Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl

Different teams, Atem has the same Rayquaza question but little Yugi, has a more technical team he's not going to overpower Ash but he could out-strategize him

Additional Pokemon to full out his reserves/deck

Sirfetch’d -another knight

Chesnaught - technically another knight

Armarouge/Ceruledge - fire knights might fit Joeys flame swordsman more

Corviknight - also another knight

Dragonite -another dragon

Charizard - another “dragon”

Mismagius- a witch for more magicians

Mr. Mime - technically a magician

Lucario and Rabscada - the Egyptian connection

Marowak or Duskull - Summoned Skull

Iron Valiant - “Combined” version of Gardevoir and Gallade if ever news to make just one team slot for them (also Silent Paladin)

Basically any dark, psychic, fairy, ghost, steel, or dragon type Pokemon as they generally cover a lot of the magic, knight, and Dragon, Yugi’s medieval theme has and some of Yugi’s toy/kid theme

I couldn't find a good equivalent for Gandora maybe a Pokemon like Zekrom but nothing I felt confident about picking

Same with Exodia don't know which Pokemon could fit that ionic card(s) maybe Regigigas as the ability slow start can match the need for all five cards to summon/win

Legendaries

Magearna - for the gadget cards

Swords of justice - knights

Hoopa - kind of a magician

Zacian/Zamazenta- knights

Mewtwo - psychic type can be a magician

Actually it's about the fact that Atem is subtly represented as a knight, though.

Black Luster Soldier being the ace card he's associated with apart from Dark Magician. Black Luster Soldier being the card he used when he first realized Yuugi's strength. Black Luster Soldier being "light and darkness intertwined" where he realized the strength of kindness and gentleness.

The fact that the cards he uses that aren't support for his magicians are usually knight cards or warrior cards. Elf Swordsman, the King's/Queen's/Jack's Knight cards, Buster Blader, Gaia the Fierce Knight, Big Shield Gardna. He uses a lot of high fantasy cards, true. Holy Elf, Berfamet, Curse of Dragon, Summoned Skull. But he's most often associated with knights.

He's got the gods, true. But those are an inheritence of Kingship. A divinity pressed upon him. He's associated with demons, but again, that's an inheritence of the Items and their curse. He's associated with darkness, but that's an act. Mai directly calls him out on this.

What he beats Kaiba with--what he uses to Pierce the Darkness with--is Dark Paladin.

His magician--his best friend--combined with a knight.

Small headcanon that Atem's Ka was Gaia the Fierce Knight in life who was transformed into Black Luster Soldier after Atem's soul was infused with Necrophades' darkness.

Now, you might think that I'm going to go for the immediately obvious "this guy is lying, there are no Millennium Items here, so what gives?" But no, my immediate issue is with the trivia page proclaiming that this card "has appeared in every form of Yugioh game outside the OCG/TCG" alongside clearly iconic cards like Blue-Eyes and Dark Magician. Why? Because I have never seen this card in my entire goddamn life???????????? "Oh yeah, you know those iconic Yugioh cards, like Gaia the Fierce Knight, Summoned Skull, and Sengenjin???????????" Who does this guy think he is. Boldest dude to ever walk this earth with claims like that. ANYWAY, uh, he sure is making some bold fashion statements with his disjointed outfit pieces. Like, if you're gonna have spikes on two out of three of your golden bands, you might as well go for all three and have at least a little cohesion. And his shoes? His "shoes"? What happened there... Everything else looks to be in good shape, and then you get down to his feet and it looks like he shapeshifted into this form and blew the legs off a onesie. Also, that background? All that texture work contrasts soooo bad. It's separately eye-catching in it's own way, though, I guess.

Notes on Personality (optional, but preferred!): Gets scared easily, but will often push through his fear to help those he calls his friends.

Backstory and Lore (optional): A Star Warrior and the bodyguard of a princess on the planet Gaia Star. His father is the king's royal advisor, so he became closely acquainted with the royal family to the point of becoming fiercely loyal. However, he wanted to be a Royal Guard and wanted to prove his worth instead of weaseling his way into the Guard through nepotism. He ended up passing most of the tests, but wasn't able to complete the final test due to the arrival of the kingdom's long lost princess. In place of the final test, he was assigned to be the princess's bodyguard, and he is extremely proud of this position. He has stated to a certain group of evildoers that he'd be willing to go to any lengths to protect her, despite not being all too strong. If allowed, I headcanon that he's participating as a way to hone his skills and become stronger, as I have written him as having committed to improving his battle skills and eventually learning about and honing his skills as a Star Warrior.
