Now while I could go on for hours just making up fluff scenarios and interactions between Nine and Mangey (and fun fact most of my headcannons stem from putting those two in a room and than thinking further) the first two weeks until Nine got sorta used to living with ppl he was a bit of an intentional dick

Part of some sketches from a fun lil Bite Me AU where Aedes changes sizes based on how much he's drank (Definitely planning on writing/drawing some shorts for this AU- I just love the extra dynamic it adds of Aedes being a bit more dangerous the more June lets him feed 👀 )

Note
I can’t remember who wrote it but there was like some secret admirer writing hotch little notes blurb somewhere on this silly little app and I just need more of that content.
Like if reader doesn’t even work in the BAU they could even be like a cleaner or just someone that works in and around quantico with the BAU but they start writing hotch notes about how proud they are of him and what a lovely person he is, how his smile makes them feel warm and whatnot.
Maybe like very socially anxious reader idk but yeah they need him to know how great he is but just can’t spit the words out face to face
‘you have a pretty smile, you should do it more often. <3’
aaron felt a slight blush rise to his cheeks, shade matching the tiny piece of paper in his hands.
rossi appeared in the door, noticing him peering down at something, “what’s that?”
“nothing.” he said a bit too quickly, tucking the note into his blazer pocket.
“what’s it say? show me.” the older man persisted.
“no. go away, dave.”
he put his hands up in defeat, “fine, i’ll leave you alone. just thought i’d let you know, that your eye candy,” rossi smirked, “is standing outside.” he said, teasingly.
furrowing his brows, he feigned ignorance, “what are you talking about?”
“seriously?” rossi scoffed. “anyway, i actually wanted to tell about..”
dave’s voice drained out, and was replaced by the most angelic laugh he’d ever heard. it took all of his pride to not snap his head toward your direction, not having it in him to prove his friend right.
aaron couldn’t make up his mind; he felt guilty about it. on one hand, the notes made him weak, a mess, but so did you.
that’s why he felt bad.
he’d never spoken to you, other than the occasional greeting when you were talking to morgan or jj — he knew nothing about you, hell, he didn’t even know what department you worked in, how could he possibly like you?
he was drawn to you, yet he didn’t know why.
granted, he knew nothing about the mystery person sending him the notes either, but he assumed they were an admirer, who couldn’t muster up the courage to ask him out in person. all he knew, was that those words made him melt.
pink pieces of paper would almost always be found in between the files that his team would send up to him to assess — he knew it wasn’t any of them, he recognised their handwriting.
everyday, his heart would beat a little faster out of anticipation for a note being left for him; whenever there was, it never failed to tinge his cheeks red.
looking over the bullpen, he gripped the rail a little tighter, as his frown deepened at the sound your voice filling the room. when your eyes met his from across the room, however, his features softened, for a split second, the inner conflict coming to peace.
he hoped he didn’t see any more of you for the rest of the week.
sometimes, he wondered if when he made a wish, the universe purposefully did the exact opposite of what he wanted.
the very next case they took on, was joint with the domestic terrorism division, which just so happened to be the team you worked with, shocker.
what made it worse, was that the notes appeared more often, for the duration of this case; there were so many people in and out of the bullpen, and, he was stressed enough as it was, so, looking out for his messenger was the least of his worries.
he tried to remain professional, for the sake of the case, but he couldn’t help but have his gaze trail over to you, while you worked from across the room.
this was wrong. you were probably dating someone, and aaron already had someone who was interested in him; even though, he had never seen them, he knew that when he did, the first thing he’d do was ask them out on a date. they never failed in making his day, making him smile, they made him feel warm inside. aaron hoped that one day, he’d be able to do the same.
picking up his coffee cup, he noticed that there was a neatly folded up post-it note on the table where it sat.
‘you’re great at your job :)’
instantly, his shoulders slumped, and he wasn’t as tense anymore. that was until he looked over at you, standing infront of the whiteboard, biting your lip and furrowing your brows in concentration as you wrote. turning his attention over to the actual words on the board, he felt his heart drop at the familiarity.
he recognised the way some of the letters or words were written in cursive, whilst others were separated, how your handwriting was fairly small, but the spaces between words were slightly large, how you always used half s’s, unless it was the first letter.
as his eyes flicked from the note to the board, you saw the look of realisation, “now that you know, how disappointed are you?”
he breathed out, “disappointed? you think i’m disappointed?”
“well kinda, yeah.” you replied meekly. “i thought you hated me.”
“what?“
“you’re always like.. frowning at me.. like the other day! you were literally glaring in my direction.” you admitted, “i’ve always had a little crush on you, and, i wanted you to know how great i think you are. but, it’s kinda difficult when you’re always looking at me like that.”
“i’m not- i didn’t mean to.” he sighed. “it’s completely the opposite of what you think. this whole time, i thought what i was feeling for you was wrong.” now it was your turn to be confused. “because i didn’t know i was falling for the same person twice.”
“what do you mean?”
“your notes. they’re the reason i feel genuine excitement for paperwork — the thought of finding them makes me so warm. seeing you, though, stole my breath away, and it felt so wrong — that i had feelings for you and note person — because i knew nothing about you, but at the same time, i felt like i’d known you my whole life.” he let out a breathy laugh at what he said next, “i probably looked mad, because i was frustrated with myself — my feelings.”
“oh.”
“i can’t blame you, though, can i? so, can i take you to dinner sometime?” he shot you a hopeful smile;
you mirrored his look, “you don’t know how long i’ve been waiting for this.”
“likewise, sweetheart.”
never had he been more grateful that his wishes hadn’t been granted.

ahem... so... mad scientists :) i need more of them in my life please
mad scientists who get so lost in their tinkering and scheming that they forget to eat for 2 days straight, and during a fight with a hero they have to pause because the hero is just concerned for them, being able to hear their tummy growling the whole time.
alternatively: mad scientists going hungry after getting absorbed in their work, only for them to devour the hero instead of using the weapon they spent all that time making (disappointing, but an interesting revelation!).
mad scientists testing their own chemical formulae on themselves to a range of different effects. honestly this is applicable to like every kink please i need it.
to build off the last: mad scientists whose self-tested formulae transforms them into something more than human, an ex-human eldritch beast that has so much knowledge of human biology and chemistry, now hosting an insatiable craving for what they once were (i actually love this i wanna write more for this damn)
mad scientists that have a shrink ray malfunction and end up towering over their lab, seeing the opportunity of destroying the hero base themselves (and possibly enjoying a heroic snack) a more fun way to take out their opposers.
lets not forget the aesthetics- an otherwise spotless lab, covered in spilled beakers and erlenmeyer flasks- broken glass oozing with a concoction only one person could know the effects of. highly impractical goggles resting above ravenous eyes, flashy, flowing lab coats and button-downs pushed aside to make way for a bulging belly- filled up with a co-worker who knew too much, and/or an ex-subject perhaps? whatever it was, it better hope that this (unlicensed) doctor spares some mercy- their mortality rate was always on the high side...

A g/t scenario I think about late at night:
Character A thought it would be cool to complete a miniatures set as a fun side project to help de-stress.  Once they finish building it, they proudly display it on a shelf, but as the first few days of its completion go by, character A realizes that the pieces aren’t where they’d set them up before.  Day after day they check on the miniature cabin they’d made, only to find signs that it’s been lived in.  Chairs are pushed back from tables like someone sat in them, books are taken off the shelf and strewn across a coffee table, bedsheets are rumpled as if someone sat in them, there’s even little crumbs left on the kitchen counter.
One day character A decides enough is enough and comes home early to catch whoever is messing with their miniature.  They find character B, perfectly scaled to the tiny cabin, lying comfortably on the couch.  Character B, scared and confused by character A‘s sudden appearance, darts away out the tiny back door.  Character A tries to catch character B, but they’re gone.  They wonder if what they saw was even real.  The next day they try tricking the tiny thing by coming in at yet another different time.  It works and this time they block off the back door, trapping character B.  They don’t intend to harm them, they just want to know who and what they are.
(more under cut because this is a longer one)
From here, the story can go one of two routes (I pick different ones to imagine depending on my mood)
Route 1:
Character B is a borrower.  They lost their home in the walls due to an infestation of termites (it could be whatever reason really.  They might just move into the cabin because it’s a lot better than their old house.)  Either way, character B loves life in the miniature cabin.  There’s working electricity, perfect furniture they don’t need to make for themselves, and a high vantage point with easy access to the snacks the human leaves out on their desk.  Everything seems to be working in their favor until the human comes home earlier than expected, just as character B was settling down on the couch after a good borrowing run.
Seeing the human staring down at them, they quickly rush away out the back door and down the rope cord they use to get off of the shelf.  Character B hides in the walls the whole day, scared of getting captured by the human.  As soon as the human leaves the following morning, character B rushes back into the cabin and begins cleaning up any signs they were there, packing away any of the tools and other items they have that don’t belong in the miniature.
Before they can finish, the human returns.  Character B realizes how stupid they were to come back for their things and rushes to the back door again, but this time the human stops them.  They panic and look around wildly for another exit as the human, character A, watches them in shock.  Before character A can react, character B leaps off the shelf after running through an open wall.  They hope they can land on the next shelf down, but they hit the edge instead.  Character B clings to the wood for a moment before falling all the way to the ground.  The fall should’ve killed them, but character A catches them instead.
Maybe after some reassurance from character A, B realizes that A wasn't trying to hurt them and character A lets B live in the little cabin.  Maybe character B pulls out a borrower weapon on A and manages to escape to another living space, underneath the sink.  (Character A will undoubtedly find them again later)
Route 2:
Character B is a human.  They were left an old cabin in the woods by some late relative and decided to live in it for a while like a short vacation before selling it.  They were laying on the couch after a long day of seeking out realtors when suddenly a few of the walls around them fizzle out and disappear.  Character B is left staring up at a literal giant.  They escape through the back door (the front door disappeared with the walls) and find that everything outside is normal.  After a few hours of debating what to do, character B steps tentatively back inside.  Everything is normal now.
Character B assumes what they saw was a weird hallucination caused by stress and tries to ignore it, continuing to live in the cabin.  The next day, at some obscene mid-morning hour, the walls disappear as they’re cleaning the cabin.  Again a giant looms over them and they rush to the back door to escape like they had before, but the giant blocks it with their hand.  Character B scrambles away from the hand and dashes under a table, curled up and shaking in fear.
Meanwhile the giant, character A, stares at character B confused.  “Who are you?  How are you so small?  Why are you living in my cabin?”  Character B stares up at them from beneath the table.  Did they just say this is their cabin?  First meeting stuff ensues as both characters confusedly try to figure out what happened.  Character A realizes that B is a person like them, and the cabin has a real life counterpart somewhere in the woods in a neighboring country.  Character B realizes (similarly to A) that the giant is actually just a person, and they somehow have a scale model of the cabin they’re staying in which makes them able to access the real one.
Maybe character B decides to keep the cabin and learns more about character A, and the two can become unlikely friends.  Maybe character B doesn’t want anything to do with this and abandons the cabin, leaving the next homeowner to deal with the strange giant person.
If anyone wants to use these for a story, I’ll be happy to read it!  I doubt I’ll do anything more with these ideas other than daydream about them, anyways.
